What’s a book you think is underrated and want more people to read?
I love this question!! I have a couple!
Annabel Lee is the first book in the Coffey & Hill series. The main character is Trudi Coffey, a private investigator who is sassy, strong, and doesn't put up with anyone's crap. In the first book, she gets caught up in a missing persons case that forces her to work with her ex-husband, Samuel Hill. This series is hilarious and fast-paced.
The Widows of Malabar Hill is the first book in the Perveen Mistry books. Perveen is a female lawyer in 1920's Bombay who has to solve mysteries. These books are a little slow but Perveen is a great character to follow.
The Gilded Wolves is a fantastical historical fiction series by Roshani Chokshi (the author of Aru Shah). This book has all the same tropes as Six of Crows: a heist, a group of criminals who are each other's family, magic, and great romances and friendships.
The Bone Shard Daughter is the first book in the Drowning Empire series. I have only read the first book, but I really enjoyed it. This book follows multiple characters. One of them is Lin, who is trying to learn magic and recover her lost memories to prove her worth to her father, the emperor. The other is Jovis, a smuggler who is searching for his kidnapped wife with his magical animal sidekick Mephi. The third main characters are Phalue and Ranami, who are a couple. Phalue is a governor's daughter while Ranami is a commoner who struggles under Phalue father's rule. There is a lot of conflict between these two because of their backgrounds and beliefs. The writing style and pacing reminded me a lot of Shadow and Bone, so if you liked that book, definitely check this one out.

Character summaries for my post-game long fic (spoilers for end game)
This story takes place in a vague time around 5 years post game.
Burgess: He has settled in as Minister, and has accepted the tragedy that is being too busy to be allowed to be the Safety Inspector anymore. Don't break rules around him, though. He will definitely write a letter to the civil corps, and you will get fined.
He has reached a point of stability in his life where things that have been neglected - his various anxieties, his life goals, his wants and needs - are starting to push themselves to the forefront of his mind again. A letter from an aunt he thought was dead kickstarts a mental journey he would rather not go on.
He's in his early thirties and lives in the dormitory with the new church hires (certified to not be duvos agents!) and Miguel.
Miguel: A year or so post-game, his years of overwork, stress, and ignoring his health lead him to fucking up his back majorly and eventually needing surgery to correct it. The majority of the story takes place after this surgery, when it seems like it has been mostly successful and, with care, he can consider how he will live the rest of his life.
He is no longer being watched by Burgess, though Burgess (as Minister) considers his spiritual journey his responsibility. He is also no longer under parole, but as someone who betrayed his country, he is still under watch. Justice writes reports about him, and probably Grace is keeping an eye on him in her "retirement." There are many people who do not forgive him and only tolerate him (Logan, Zeke and Trudy to a lesser extent) and there are people who never liked him and continue to not like him. There are also a few people who consider him their friend (the builder, Burgess, Jasmine, and to a lesser extent Andy and Dan-bi)
He's in his 50's, and time has passed enough that he might finally have to deal with what he did and what was done to him. Maybe dealing with it is letting himself move on? But isn't that like forgetting?
Dan-bi: Burgess' closest confidante and friend. She frequently has Burgess over when he has time to babysit her kid for her, so she and Rian can keep the spark alive. They're considering having a second child. She likes that she knows Burgess will keep exactly to the rules she sets without making Lin-lin hate him. She wants Burgess to be more self confident, but she also has a lot of her own stuff going on.
Lin-lin: Loves hitting things with sticks and thinks sticks are cool. She adores her father who tells her all about the different kinds of woods there are and what they're good for. Usually while sitting around and chilling.
Rian: Nothing has made him more responsible than being a father. He understands that his kid(s) depend(s) on him. But watching children for him mostly involves sitting around and making sure no one gets their eye poked out or walking them to school.
Unsuur: He is still being the best deputy he can be. Instead of playing whac a mole with Pen, these days he and Burgess watch grass grow and look at light shining through cool rocks on their time off. They also occasionally plan paint drying watch parties and are surprised very few people show up every single time.
The Builder: No face, no age, no gender, no words. They are more a force of nature than a person. They are married and have children. Burgess considers them his bestie, but so does every one else in town. They have some hand in everything going on, and are always down to do whatever weird shit Sandrockers are willing to ask them to do. Frequently seen leaping from the temple down to the commerce guild.

Looks like it's going to be a Sharma family reunion
Tumblr media
Georgia Sharma is back in Emmerdale to ruffle feathers on the eve of her son Jai’s wedding to Laurel.
Originally played by Trudie Goodwin, the role will now be played by former EastEnders actress, Lin Blakley, who is delighted to be joining Emmerdale.
Known for speaking her mind, both her ex-husband Rishi, played by Bhasker Patel, and the soon to be married couple Laurel, played by Charlotte Bellamy and Jai, played by Chris Bisson are instantly at the mercy of her harsh opinions.
With the wedding day looming and the rift between Rishi and Jai showing no signs of abating, will Georgia be able to heal this fractured family?
Producer Kate Brook explains “'We're thrilled to have an actor of Lin's calibre step into the role of the formidable Georgia. A force to be reckoned with, she'll have a secret for the Sharma family that could potentially blow their world apart".
Actress Lin Blakley commented: “How lucky am I to play such a strong character as Georgia. So different from roles I’ve played of late. I have enjoyed every single minute. Gorgeous cast and crew!! And the gorgeous Dales. Thank you Emmerdale.”
It sounds like she's already finished filming though...
and I'm sure the secret is that Rishi's brother is Jai's bio dad and the cousin is his (half) brother.

Vienna Blues Spring 2023
Ovogodišnji Vienna Blues Spring festival će se održati od 20. marta do 31. maja na četiri lokacije u Beču. Nacionalni i internacionalni muzičari će izvesti 50 koncerata i pokazati širinu žanra nudeći mnogo više od klasičnog bluza: sving, fank, rok, bugi i džamp.
U Kući muzike će nastupati Mina Krile i Kris Filmor sekstet 18. aprila 2023. godine, dok će Mocartova kuća biti rezervisana za akustične nastupe bendova Hudu Men, Martin Pirker, Cili Maršal. Trudi Lin će nastupati uoči svog 75. rođendana i predstaviti novi album 22. marta 2023. godine u restoranu Rajgen. Sari Šor će održati koncert na festivalu u okviru svoje turneje „Sloboda“. Publika će imati priliku da sluša i Vanju Skaj, Malinu Moj, Lajlu Zoi i mnoge druge izvođače.

Reminisce of the time a few years ago I hunted for these books like a hawk because goodreads rec. them to me. These were quite hard to get and some I regretted having acquired them lol.
Here some of the titles
The Perilous Gard by Elizabeth Marie Pope. I love this one. Very Rereadable. I also like her other book, the Sherwood ring. No regrets on these
An Earthly knight by Janet McNaughton. Nope DNF. (I was in Tam lin phase then lol but this one I shall passed) Regrets!
Mara, Daughter of the Nile by Eloise Jarvis McGraw. This is so fun. I may reread sometimes in the future.
The Raging Quiet by Sherryl Jordan. I like the book fine but will not reread.
Time enough for drums by Ann Rinaldi. Right this was interesting for me but as the internet keep telling me the age gap in this one is bothering me a lot.
Keturah and lord death by Martine Leavitt. I couldn't really get pass the MC self consciousness and the way the story was told. Regrets!
Summers at castle auburn by Sharon Shinn. I love her Archangel book. (1 st book only) and this one also supposed to be without flaws. Only there are quite a few of issues that disturb me.
The Hollow kingdom by Claire B. Dunkle. Hmm will not reread. On the stockholm syndrome note.
A Face like glasses by Frances Hardinge. Was glued to the pages literally. Could not put it down. Felt the same thrills reading these like when I read Garth Nix's keys to the kingdom. Might reread but y'know it won't be like the first time ever again.
Dragon's bait by Vivian Vande Velde. Felt like a cliffhanger with no second book. Not that interesting. Regrets
11. The Blue sword by Robin Mckinley. Can't say I regret this but I'd felt that this should have been better. Not to mention the weird prequel book that I won't reread again.
12. The Belgariad series by David Eddings. Loved these while it lasted. I got bored with the second series. Not rereadable to me.
13. The Changeover by Margaret Mahy. Like it. Not gonna reread.
14. The Changeling sea by Patricia A. Mckillip. I regreted that this was the first Mckillip book I'd ever come across. Dreamy but not engaging. My favorite of hers are the forgotten beast of Eld, In the forest of Serre, the Riddlemaster series, and Winter rose.
15. War for the Oaks by Emma Bull. Very entertaining. I love it. Haven’t reread this since.
16. Song of the lioness series by Tamora Pierce. I was undecided about these. Well I like the Immortals better than this one. Trickster duology impressed me the most. Not regret these but still haven’t reread them.
17. Sabriel by Garth Nix. Special to me because I read this first on audiobook. What a thrilling experience. I was so crazy about the Abhorsen lore for months. Haven’t reread also.
18. Wildwood dancing by Juliet Merrilier. I was crazy about nearly all of her books for a time. Reread this along with Heart’s blood and Daughter of the forrest many times. It was good but didn’t really hold up to now.
19. Enchanted forest chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede. Like but not love. I like Mairelon’s books better or even the sorcerer and cecelia book.
20. Crown duel by Sherwood Smith. Love the books though Mel’s impulsiveness irked me lots of time. The starts of my obsession with her Sartorias-deles saga. Too many books with vastly different target audience, I gave up trying to read them all at some point lol. Love banner of the damned and the Inda books though.
21. Sally Lockhart’s series by Philip Pullman. Yeah I like his spectacular HDM but I like these more. Sally is so cool. No regrets.
22. The Black magician triology by Trudi Canavan. Used to be my guilty pleasure. because of the ending I will not reread.
23. The Farseer trilogy by Robin Hobb. Love these and the third trilogy also. Regret reading the second. Won’t reread because it was too painful. Also if I could one day reread them, I might continue with the series.
24. Earthsea cycle. By Ursula K. Le Guin. Favorite series. Reread many times. Will continue to recommend them.
25. Mistborn series. By Brandon Sanderson. Love these but won’t reread because I can’t go thru all of that again.
26. The chronicle of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander. Read on audiobook. Like them but haven’t reread since.
27. Lumatere chronicles by Melina Marchetta. So intense lol, it was good but I won’t go thru all that again.
30. Tales from the flat earth by Tanith lee. Did not regret. So dark and arabian-ish. I especially love Simmu’s stories and Chuz. Her B&B retelling in Red as blood is also my fav. So unique. But I regret buying her Claidi’s journals and Paradys books.
31. I, Coriander by Sally Gardner. So pretty cover. The stories was good for my teen years. Did not reread since.
32. A Company of swans by Eva Ibbotson. Gosh this was unexpectedly cute. So many weird things but still it works for me. Haven’t reread.
33. The Ivy tree by Mary Stewart. This book lied to me! I was so obsessed with the pseudo amnesia thing. First read on audiobook. One time is enough because the suspense can be experienced only one time.
34. The Seer and the sword by Victoria Hanley. Regrets. The plot was supposedly engaging but I couldn’t care less.
35. The Blue castle by L.M. Montgomery. Beautiful prose. Like the plot very much. Now if I could really find the time to read Anne of green gables.
36. Book of a thousand days by Shannon Hale. Nice. Can’t remember much but I like this enough to draw a doodle. I like her Austenland better. That was hilarious.
37. Narnia books by C.S. Lewis. I love these esp. the Dawn trader one. Haven’t reread yet.
39. The savage Damsel and the dwarf by Gerald Morris. Funny. I remembered that much.
Other books I regret are The books of Pelinor by Alison Croggon. Darkangel triology by Meredith Ann Pierce. Knight and Rogue by Hilari Bell, A college of magics by Caroline Stevermer, Riverside by Ellen Kushner.

Sleepy’s Fic Masterlist (better late than never)
I realized I never made one of these and just sneakily wrote and published stuff on AO3 without announcing it, but having a masterlist is really useful even just for me, so I’m making one now.
Not every fic I’ve ever written or published is included here, as a few are either quite short or are not currently available to read (or I don’t really like them). All links lead to AO3 unless otherwise stated. Everything is neatly sorted with word counts, characters, summaries, etc. as well as any triggers.
Note: when I say something is unedited, I mean a full pass edit with revisions, parts added or rearranged, resulting in a more complete fic. I do a quick edit before I post to check for spelling/grammar errors, but hold off on a solid edit until later. And sometimes, later never comes. But I never post anything that I haven’t done a quick edit for.
Also, besides a mild flirtation here or there, everything I write is platonic (with a single exception).
Fandoms included in this list:
The Untamed
The Lost Tomb Franchise
The 100
Power Rangers
Chicago P.D.
K-Pop
Tumblr media

BTS*
*NOTE: all of my real-person fics are about characters of my own creation, but then I borrow a couple of key traits from the real person they’re sharing the name of, so that I can write both in fandom and not really about real people, because writing my own characters is a lot more fun, but having a core to work off of is nice and easy. this has been a disclaimer? of a sort.
I have chosen to sort by date, latest to earliest, so from 11/2018 to 06/2016

Oldest confirmed...
Tumblr media
Dog
The oldest (confirmed) dog that ever lived was an Australian cattle dog named Bluey, who was born in 1910 and died in 1939, at the age of 29.
Tumblr media
However, an Australian kelpie named Maggie died in 2016 at the reported age of 30, but unfortunately, this cannot be confirmed.
Tumblr media
Cat
The oldest cat to ever live was named Creme Puff, and she was born in 1967 and died in 2005, at the exact age of 38 years and 3 days. The photo above was taken when she was 29 years old.
Tumblr media
Gorilla
Colo became the first gorilla born in human care in late 1956, and became the oldest confirmed gorilla ever when she died in early 2017, a month after her 60th birthday.
Another gorilla, Trudy, died at the estimated age of 62, but it cannot be confirmed, and two living gorillas, Fatou and Helen, are supposedly 61-62 years old, but this too, cannot be confirmed.
Tumblr media
Dolphin
The oldest confirmed dolphin (and this includes all species, including killer whales) was a bottlenose dolphin named Nellie who was born at Marineland Dolphin Adventure (then Marine Studios) in 1953, and only the fourth dolphin calf in human care to survive infancy. She died in 2014, two months after her 61st birthday.
Tumblr media
A contender is the Australian humpback dolphin Amity, who was caught in 1968 and died at Sea World Gold Coast in 2019, estimated to be as old as 66 years old, but this is impossible to confirm. (Articles reporting her death all stated her to be “55″, but this is inconsistent with all reports before her death, stating she was over 60 years old, and Ceta-Base tentatively putting her birth in 1953.)
No claims of 80-100 year old killer whales have been confirmed, and the extreme age of Granny has long been debunked. For now, the oldest known killer whale is Corky, who will officially be estimated at 56 years next month (January 2020).
Tumblr media
Chimpanzee
The oldest confirmed chimpanzee was a female named Garbo who was born at a research facility in 1953, and died in 2015, less than a month before her 62nd birthday. There are several other chimps (Little Mama, Gregoire and Susie) who have reportedly lived to ages from 65 to 82, but these cannot be confirmed, as their ages were simply estimated later in life.
Tumblr media
Orangutan
This one is difficult, as I can find no “oldest orangutan” with their birth year absolutely confirmed, including the oldest living today, including 59-year old Inji at Oregon Zoo.
However, the believed oldest orangutan ever was Puan, pictured above, who died in 2018 at the estimated age of 62.
Tumblr media
Horse
There are no photos of the oldest horse ever, as he lived so long ago. Old Billy was a barge horse born in 1760, and he died in 1822 at the age of 62. His head is today taxidermied and on display. Judging from the date on the painting, 1803, he was 43 years old when depicted in this painting.
Tumblr media
Manatee
The oldest manatee ever known was also, like Nellie the dolphin, one the first born in an aquarium. Snooty was born in 1948, and died in 2017, two days after his 69th birthday. His death, strangely and unfortunately, was an accidental drowning due to a fault in his enclosure. Because of this, we will never know how old he could have become.
Tumblr media
Parrot
While stories of parrots well past the age of 100 years are well-known, not one of these has been confirmed. The oldest confirmed parrot was a male Major Mitchell’s cockatoo named Cookie, who was hatched in 1933 in Australia, and died at Brookfield Zoo in 2016, at the age of 83.
Tumblr media
Elephant
The oldest confirmed elephant to ever live was a male Asian elephant named Lin Wang (initially named “Ah Mei”), born late 1917 in Burma, and died in early 2003 at Taipei Zoo at the age of 85. The above photo was taken in 1947, when he was 30 years old.
Tumblr media
Human
Claims of the oldest people to ever live are usually controversial and difficult to confirm, as we often deal with people born in the late 1800s (now all gone) and early 1900s, where birth certificates may have gone lost over the years, or never existed in the first place.
However, the one human tentatively confirmed to be the world’s oldest, was Frenchwoman Jeanne Calment, who was born in 1875, and died in 1997 at the age of 122. At that point, she was both blind and deaf.
Her age has been contested over the years, including the claim that her only daughter (who supposedly died on her 36th birthday) took her mother’s identity.
Nevertheless, if she was genuine, her age makes her remarkable not only because she lived 122 years, but because there is no other that comes really close. Number two lived 119 years, and number 3-8 all lived 117 years.
And yes, my haters can take note that I still believe humans are apes and animals.
Tumblr media
Tortoise
Very hard for any vertebrate to beat, is the lifespan of a giant tortoise. And the oldest confirmed tortoise was Tu’i Malila, a radiated tortoise reportedly taken from Madagascar by James Cook, and who died in 1965 at the age of 188.
Pictured above however, is Adwaita. He is believed to have come into the world in the 1750s in the Seychelles, was caught and given to a man named Robert Clive, then came to Alipore Zoo around 1875, and died there in 2006, at the estimated age of 255.
Tumblr media
The oldest living tortoise today is Jonathan, the same species as Adwaita and by 2020, he will be 188 years old, so he may soon break Tu’i Malila’s record. The photos above span 128 years, and both depict Jonathan.

As you may have heard, there's been a slight rearrangement of episode topics, due to the fact that the audio of our original recording of Episode 26 (witches!) was haunted. Therefore, this week we're talking about, well, exactly what it says on the tin. In other words, Dead Dove: Do Not Eat. Our tentpoles this week are The Shape of Water, "And I Awoke and Found Me Here on the Cold Hillside" by James Tiptree Jr, and "Bro: discover new talent." by Laylah (Homestuck fic).
