Interviewer: Luke Arnold, congratulations on True Colors for SBS and and NItV. A huge series, an amazing performance from you, congratulations.

Luke: well, thank you very much.I mean, I just loved being a part of that. The moment I read those scripts, I was like get me on this show,” I’d already wanted to work with Bunya for a while, and so, it was a dream for me. And while I’m so stoked to be nominated, representing True Colours, I feel like I’m the last person that should -who should be here, like it’s just-

Interviewer: oh come on-

Luke: No, well it was, you know it was such a magical show, really so about, you know that part of the country. About Alice, and the Arrente people, and so I really feel like I was a guest in that part of the country as much as I was a guest in this show. But to be here, and let people know to check it out on SBS on Demand if they haven’t yet, or to draw more attention to it, I’m happy to do it.

Interviewer: oh absolutely, a phenomenal series, and Bunya as a production house, doing some great work, not least of which is True Colors, so that’s a great pick up there. Um, so whose your tip for the Gold Logie?

Luke: Oh, well uh, look, I really gotta go with Mark. I think its so fantastic, I mean he’s doing so much great work. But of course Mystery Road Origins was just so brilliant, so um, that’s where I’m going. Yeah.

Interviewer: awesome well congratulations, I really hope you bring it home tonight.

Alex Chen x Reader

Summary - Gabe dies and it seems a little too much for Alex.

“Hey, hey, hey.” You gently whispered as you saw Alex collapse to her knees, the wood below them barely echoed as sobs escaped her exhausted body.

The apartment wasn’t small, but with the addition of the music coming from beneath the floor made the walls seem like they were closing in on her.

She hadn’t had time to process. It literally happened yesterday.

You rushed to her side, collapsing by her before enveloping her into a tight hug. She struggled to gasp in air within the cries she released, and all you could is let her lean on you and watch as the person you loved so dearly broke apart in front you.

You knew all about her ability. All about her emotional and psychological trauma that she’d endured due to it. You hated seeing her so frail, but unfortunately it was a common occurrence.

Her ability to read others emotions was impressive, but under the circumstances she grew up in, she wasn’t able to learn how to pinpoint her own emotions. She felt numb, up until she didn’t, and she’d just break down in your arms.

But never like this.

Usually it wasn’t as severe as now, but it was completely understandable as to why.

You let her cry her tears onto you, ugly screams leaving her mouth as she pushed herself more into your embrace. She didn’t want to be alone, but she’d feel guilty about it later.

Her hair stuck to her forehead, courtesy of the rain that had soaked you both as you were walking back home. Yet, regardless of how much she hated being wet from the wether, she was too tired to care now.

“Hey, Alex. Look at me.” You tried, cupping her face on one side so she could focus on you and your touch instead of her thoughts. It took a couple of tried but she eventually pulled away, breathing heavy from crying, eyes bloodshot already. “What colour am I?”

It was a simple way of distraction. Asking her what colour of emotion you were before asking her to explain it to you in more detail.

“I- Don’t-”

“You do know, okay?” You smiled as you looked down at her, part of her body still laying on you. “What colour am I?”

“Purple.” The tears ran down her face, mixing in with the rain that managed to stay on her face. “You’re purple.”

“Good job.” You kissed her hairline, rubbing your thumb across her cheek. “What shade of purple am I?”

She looked at your eyes for a second before sniffing, successfully making her relax into your hold.

“L- Light purple.”

You nodded, smiling sympathetically before bring her closer again. This time, she was much calmer, much more in control of her own emotions.

There was a moment of silence, the room falling deathly quiet apart from Alex’s occasional sniffs.

“He’s gone, (Y/N).” Her voice was so strained, high pitched as if she was fighting tears gain.

“I know. I’m so sorry, love.”

Nothing else was said for a while. Half an hour past slowly, the tick of the clock mocked your ability to tell time. You still sat on the floor, holding Alex’s shivering body close to yours.

“Stop worrying.” She whispered shakily, a little smile plastered on her lips. “I can feel it.”

“Sorry.” You apologised, but there wasn’t much you could actually do with it. Your emotions were just as valid as hers, especially since you just saw her collapse onto the floor in tears.

She made a promise never to read your thoughts, at least not without your permission first. But she’d found herself curious that night, wondering why you cared about her so much. You weren’t obligated to sit there and comfort her, so why did you?

If I could take your pain I would.

She’s been through so much.

I love her so much.

Your colour suddenly changed, a very dim pink appeared around your silhouette with little sparks of purple. You were still worried of course, but this time it was worry with something else.

”I love you.” She said, completely taking you off guard. Her head was still placed against your chest, listening as your heart beat basically skipped a beat. She pulled away to look at your face, tear still running down her own cheeks.

“What?”

She started at you for a second before reading your mind again. You were scared to ruin the friendship, but you just loved her too much to ever walk away. You wouldn’t forgive yourself.

She leaned up, pressing a kiss to your lips before pulling away for a moment, just to see your colour change again.

Yellow.

She smiled and kissed you again, this time giving you enough time to kiss her back.

There you were, on the floor, kissing Alex Chen herself. You couldn’t even think about the times you wanted to do this, too scared to make a move on her before.

She pulled away again, letting you collect yourself.

“You read my mind.” You smiled, more than happy than she did.

“Yeah- I’m sorry-”

“Don’t be.”

You smiled down at her, slowly leaning towards her lips again, letting her kiss you again.
