Atsushi's back in the game!!! ۶( ˆ o ˆ )
#And Kouyou!!!!#Also. I can say Steinbeck is kinda 👀👀👀#King of the specific category of “I forget I like him until he's on screen”#I'm seriously unlocking memories with this rewatch. Like I haven't thought about it in two years–#but I just know when I was watching the anime for the first time I was being like#“Of COURSE the villains need to spend several minutes each episode explaining in detail how their own superpowers work so that the–#protagonists can get a perfect idea of how to best counter them. Why are villains made so freaking stupid in this show” aljhvwslchvqliyqwb#But. Eh. I guess that's just bsd to you.#Alsoooooo random thought of the day: I don't really favour how Tanizaki's ability was adapted in the anime.#I very well understand they were going for this green Matrix-like illusion effect‚ but every time someone says “... Snow?”#I'm like please explain where do you live that has snow glowing green.#Aamsjgvfaskjhfv sorry this is me being very. Cranky and nitpicky and having terrible audience etiquette in refusing to–#engage in suspension of disbelief. It just bugs me akvakcvqkyb I just feel like... Green is such a non-snow color–#that quite of completely disrupts the Light Snow / Sasame Yuki aesthetic. I would have liked it much better light blue or simply white.#What else. The way the Guild just goes on at stereotypes still troubles me a lot. The “usamericans can't be touched by laws–#because they use money to corrupt anyone” “foreign criminal organization come in our country to corrupt our pure and untouched soil”#Idk. Maybe all of it is true. Can it still be deemed a stereotype when it's objectively something that's happened before–#and will probably keep happening?#I suppose I'm just not a fan of the constant hostility against any foreigner. Idk.#This situation besides is extremely ironical. If you meet me irl it probably won't take long to see me being very outspoken about–#how much I despise usa cultural colonization of all other countries. It's something that really bothers me‚ how rooted and pervasive–#their influence is. So in a lot of ways I can relate to the author's sentiment#I just feel that. If you start treating them as stereotypes and ignore the complexity of a country and the wide spectrum of causes–#that contribute to its attitude in international relations. You end up practicing precisely what you're trying to criticize.#Okay this is the last time I'm getting into the politics of the Guild arc lol#random rambles#This time I took watching the episode slow I feel a little late

first off— I LOVE UR WORK!! i think i just went thru and read everything you have for one piece LOL. second!!! i saw hc / drabble request open !! i have a silly idea that i feel like you can make come into reality.
recently i’ve been watching isekai’s so…imagine. reader getting isekai-d into the one piece world!!! (more specifically, interactions with the cross guild!!!)
A/n: Thank you very much nonnie!! I really appreciate you taking the time to read my stuff. Please enjoy this <3
Getting Isekai'd Into Cross Guild!
Rating: SFW
Relationship: Cross Guild x Reader
Notes: GN!Reader, a bit crack, short and sweet. No relationship is defined so you can assume it to be platonic or romantic <3.
The wonderful Truck-kun granted your wish of getting isekai’d by sending you straight to the One Piece world! How wonderful!
Except, you quite literally fell on top of Buggy just as he was trying to argue his case to Crocodile and Mihawk.
Now, they have no clue what the hell just happened but Mihawk already agrees with whatever that just was.
Buggy is about to scream over the fact you just fell on top of him and Crocodile is wondering how you managed to get here.
Crocodile assumes a Devil Fruit, Mihawk assumes you snuck in, and Buggy assumes you’re the devil.
It takes a moment for things to settle down as they demand you tell them what you’re doing here. You explain that well… uh… you’re not really from here.
Crocodile almost plans to kill you right away because he doesn’t have time for stupidity like that, but you show whatever you have on hand to prove otherwise.
They’re all immediately entranced by your phone, but they have something they’re also interested in too.
Crocodile: Your credit cards and money. When you explain how a credit/debit card functions he’s amazed. Tempted to start a bank and overhaul the current financial system. Also loves the excel spreadsheets. The fact this “machine” will calculate all of this for you and put it in a neat list… well… mark him down as interested.
Buggy: The shiny games on your phone that are colorful and fun. The fact he can “Google” anything and look up new material.
Mihawk: EReaders and, this will sound hilarious, but text messaging. He doesn’t care to talk, but he thinks that sending texts would be so much more effective and efficient than having to haul himself around the sea or, god forbid, answer a phone call.
Okay so you did manage to prove you’re not from this world (or that perhaps you were an alien freak but that’s okay) and Crocodile and Mihawk are pretty much entertained. That’s it. You can go. Bother someone else.
Buggy however, holds you close and pouts. “Can we keep them? Can we keep them pleeeeeeeease???” He begs as if you’re a little puppy.
Crocodile is against this but Mihawk shrugs and agrees. Whatever. This could be interesting.
Buggy still doesn’t understand you’re not some circus animal and rambles about what he should have you wear and perform for his show while Crocodile cuts him off.
Frankly, if you’re telling the truth and have nowhere else to go, you gotta earn your keep. Crocodile just makes a new position for you that shouldn’t be too hard after you said you have 0 combat skills or training.
You’re basically just their assistant and do menial work that no one else really wants to do. For now at least.
Buggy is actually… kinda happy you’re so nice to him? He’s used to either worship from his crewmates or abuse from Mihawk and Crocodile, so you quickly become his new favorite person. He’s pretty shocked you’re as nice as you are considering how crappy this situation is, but he’s grateful. Softens up to you right away and loves having your attention.
Buggy likes to do silly tricks to make you laugh whenever he can, mostly as a way to be the “flashiest” guy in your eyes. He really doesn’t like when others try to take you or away or interrupt his time with you, since he’s a brat and finds you entertaining.
Crocodile and Mihawk are tougher nuts to crack. Neither of them trust people, but they find you interesting, even though you are incredibly weak compared to others.
Crocodile always tries to see what you may/may not know about him since you made a few offhand comments that were a bit too… knowledgeable… so he often tries to get you to slip up more or confess to something. He hopes to see if you know something useful that can be used (but also deep down is afraid you know too much).
Mihawk on the other hand finds you amusing. Plenty of things are similar to your world, but it’s quite clear you’re not used to many aspects of this one. He forms a habit of just watching you or actively messing with you to see your reaction. It’s a bit funny to him, admittedly.
Of the two, Mihawk is the first to somewhat let his guard down and be a bit protective of you. He figures even if you were hypothetically “dangerous”, he could easily kill you so what does he care? You do your job, you’re entertaining, and you don’t give him a headache.
Crocodile only lets up when you “prove” time and time again that you are reliable and not trying to go after them or sabotage them. He does think it’s a bit weird you’re eager to help them, considering what they do and what you know, but hey, who is he to complain?
To sum it up: Crocodile cares the most about you being isekai’d, Buggy cares the least (except when it comes to his perception. He wonders if he’s also got a following there).
Buggy likes showing off his new tricks or discussing silly hypotheticals with you.
Crocodile likes when your eyes grow wide whenever he drops an expensive item on your desk as a token of his appreciation to you.
Mihawk likes when you talk him to normally and share deep discussions with him.
It is a bit strange that there’s some “normal” person with these three villains, but you’ve become important to them. You’re unique and special, practically one of a kind in this zany world. They show their feelings towards you in different ways, but the way they’ve grown attached to you and try to protect you show that you’re valued in their life.

Crocodile x Mihawk x Buggy fic idea for you: Mihawk and Crocodile are stunned when they each discover both Yoru and Crocodile's gold hook missing. The both of them immediately suspect that Buggy did something. Pissed six ways to Hell they go looking for their "fearless leader". They find him in one of the workshops and all anger is replaced with astonishment when they find Buggy polishing Yoru to a radiant shine, while Crocodile's hook hand is already gleaming like it's been kissed by the sun itself. When they get closer, Mihawk is quietly stunned to see that Buggy has gone so far as to rewrap the hilt of the strongest blade in brand new gleaming white leather. Buggy does his best to be non-chalant as he explains that he simply wants his " Lieutenants" looking their best as he hands Crocodile his hook and assures Mihawk he's almost done polishing Yoru. The gesture actually shifts Mihawk and Crocodile's attitude towards Buggy after that. Before he knows it, Buggy is the one getting stunned when he winds up with the world's strongest swordsman and the former but still formidable leader of Baroque Works declaring that they are both in love with him and mean belong to him just as much as he does to them. Cue the absolute chaos that somehow becomes a genuinely loving throuple and a true for to be reckoned with in the pirate world.
IK WE'VE ALREADY TALKED BUT HI AGAIN POOKIE LOL. Anyways this is going to be another one of the requests i turn into a little series, if you didn't see the post where i went into more details click here. (That's if you want to, you don't have to LOL.) ALSO PT2 this is going to be the series i was talking about where i'm going to try and experiment with alternating POVS as mentioned here.
Anyways i hope everything goes well, and i'm going to debut the first three chapters before we get into anything serious, (but again, as mentioned before, i want everyone's feed back please so i know this is something yall might want again in the future. ((OR MIGHT NOT LOL) ) ) I HOPE YOU LIKE THIS THO POOKIE AND ILY MUAHHHHH.

Title: Buggy's guide to bagging boyfriends
Ch: 1/?
Rating: PG-ish for now ig (But let's talk later about it.)
Word count: 2835
Chapter except:
The room fills with tension as the two other members of Cross Guild glare at him, and Crocodile is the first to speak up, “Where’s my damn hook?!” He asks, and even though it's first thing in the morning, his voice is still, loud, deep, and intimidating, and he doesn’t sound like he’s in a good mood… but, then again, Buggy doesn’t think he ever is. Mihawk follows suit, asking his own question afterwards in a significantly quieter, yet equally as intimidating voice, “...And why do you have my sword?”
Well, so much for the surprise...
Tumblr media
It’s not like Buggy’s a workaholic or anything like that, he’s far from it actually. It’s just that even after he’s done doing his duties for the day, he often finds it hard to shut his brain off at night. He often tosses and turns in his bed, thinking about what he has to do in the morning or for the week, and sometimes finds himself wanting to get a head start on things. Tonight, he finds himself in another one of those situations, unable to sleep no matter how hard he tries because he keeps on thinking about Cross Guild and all that he has to do.
He has to have new weapons and medical supplies ordered, and he also has new men to welcome into the crew, each of whom he has to find a job for because Mihawk and Crocodile, while skilled in many things, aren’t big fans of doing the more simple tasks; like assigning their men jobs or giving them pep talks, or sending their families money after they’ve made an enemy out of themselves for attacking the marines. Damn, he has more bounties that need to be made too, and he has old ones that need to be taken off the market.
There’s so much to do, and part of him wants to go to sleep, but another part of him also wants to get back up and get right back to work again. It’s weird.
Two, three, and then four o'clock, quickly passes him by as he continues to think about all that he has to do. He feels full of energy right now despite the fact that prior to lying down, he felt exhausted. He kept yawning and could barely keep his eyes open, but now, as he lies in his bed, it seems like he can’t fall asleep no matter how hard he tries. It seems like his previous exhaustion was just a sick prank his brain played on him. Thanks, brain. He continues to think about Cross Guild, he wasn’t exactly serious about it before. He was more or less just in it because he needed to repay his debt to Crocodile, but now… Well, he can’t say it’s the worst thing in the world.
It has its cons of course: Mihawk and Crocodile are always bullying him, plus they make him run around like a chicken with its head cut off, doing what could only be considered more of a manager role than the big boss role, but Buggy kind of enjoys it actually. It makes the days go by a little quicker because he has so many things to do and men to look after these days, and he thinks his responsibilities are only going to grow in the future.
His thoughts shift slightly, and he goes from thinking about all the things he needs to do to thinking about his ‘subordinates’ and his relationship with them. Buggy’s always had a rather rocky relationship with Mihawk and Crocodile but…It’s not like he would be opposed to being their friend or anything like that, the two just never seemed interested in anything other than a work relationship (or beating him up.) But maybe if Buggy actually put in an effort to be their friend, they could fix things and this Cross Guild thing could really kick ass! Perhaps if he did something nice for them, they’d stop hating him and see that Buggy’s not that bad of a guy after all.
Should he do that?
He finds himself wondering if he should just give this whole Cross Guild thing his all, you know, make the best out of a bad situation because he’s not going anywhere any time soon… Maybe there are ways to make his, Mihawk, and Crocodile’s relationship better, like, maybe he could get them all matching red cloaks, that’d make them look like a flashy team, right?? Okay, they’d probably kill him on the spot if he did something like that. Oh, uh, maybe he could gift them some sake! Wait…They’re kind of snobby and only drink aged wine or some crap. Uh, uh… what could he do for them?
A sudden idea pops up in Buggy’s mind and he glances over at the clock by his bedside again, wondering how in just a few short seconds it went from four in the morning to almost six. Gah, time doesn’t make sense, but that doesn’t matter right now.
What are the most important things to Crocodile and Mihawk? Why, it’s their hook and sword of course! Well, actually, he’s pretty sure the most important thing to Crocodile is money and power, but that doesn’t matter! What if he shined their things for them!! That would be nice, wouldn’t it? And then they would definitely stop hating him and being mean to him, right? They’d have to! They’ll want to be his best friend if he does something that nice!! Buggy will give Crocodile’s hook and Mihawk’s sword a nice shine, and then they’ll be all like, ‘Oh, my god, Buggy. You’re so amazing, you’re so wonderful, you’re so sexy and smart, we love you!!!!’ Okay, wait, they probably won’t do the last thing, but Buggy can hear their praises now.
God, he’s so smart.
Buggy hops out of bed, quickly gets himself dressed, and then makes his way out of his tent. The island feels so calm and peaceful right now as his men continue to sleep in the early morning hours. Everything is deserted and quiet, and Buggy enjoys the scenery, finding Emptee Bluffs island the most beautiful during early summer mornings such as this. Buggy just so happens to notice that the sun is just barely beginning to peek over the horizon as he heads to Crocodile’s tent first, and he takes a moment to admire its beauty before continuing on with his tasks. He's so excited for this! He’s going to have two, not one, but two, super cool best friends!
As Crocodile’s tent comes into view, Buggy’s heart starts pounding in his chest because, despite knowing he has nothing but good intentions, he knows that if Crocodile were to discover what he plans on doing, then he’d wring his neck for sure. So, he quietly sneaks into Crocodile’s tent, and in his room, he can just barely make out the soft sounds of snoring coming from over at his bed. Perfect, Buggy thinks, hoping that there might be a chance that Crocodile doesn’t sleep with his hook on, and as he crouches down and makes his way slowly across the dimly lit room, he notices the object of his desire lying right on top of Crocodile’s nightstand.
Perfect. He’s going to be so surprised! Buggy’s going to just take this for a little while, but he’s going to make sure he returns Crocodile’s hook, and of course, Mihawk’s sword, before either of them realizes that their belongings have even gone missing!
Buggy quickly snatches up Crocodile’s hook, clutching it close to his chest, and then goes after his next target: Yoru. He thinks things might be a little more difficult considering that Mihawk may very well be awake at this time since he seems like an early riser, and Buggy has often seen him taking morning walks around the island or getting a cup of coffee from the cafeteria. It’ll be alright though, maybe he’ll be asleep or out of his tent. Buggy wastes little time making his way over to Mihawk’s tent, peeking his head in first to see if he’s awake or even inside, and when he realizes that his tent is empty, but Yoru is resting against the side of his bed, he grins, grabbing Mihawk’s beloved sword and quickly making a run for it.
Buggy can try to hide Crocodile’s hook but, obviously, it’ll be a little hard given its size, but there’s no way that he could possibly hide Mihawk’s sword, so he makes a quick run for it towards one of the island’s workshops, grunting on the way there from the sheer weight of both items. He looks around the shop once he’s inside, searching for some polishing cream and a rag, and struggling for a moment because he doesn’t usually come to this place. Usually, he just stops by for a few minutes to check up on his men, so he doesn’t know where anything is. Everything is so familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time, but he eventually finds what he needs and begins working on his surprise, having a seat on a stool and polishing Crocodile’s hook first.
He grunts again as he holds the heavy metal in his hands, wondering how Crocodile can even use this as a prosthetic with how heavy it is. He thinks it has to be at least a good thirty pounds alone, but that’s none of Buggy’s concern, he just took it so that he would be able to give it the shine it needs. Not only does giving this bad boy a good shine seem nice, but wouldn’t it be cooler if Crocodile engaged in battle with the Marines or even one of the mighty four emperors (not Buggy though.) and he had the coolest, most shiniest, most bad ass hook the world’s ever seen?!
Hell yeah, it would be! Crocodile is going to look so freaking cool thanks to Buggy!!!
He polishes the hook once, but it honestly doesn’t look shiny enough the first time around, so Buggy decides to polish it again, and then actually a third time because he wants that bad boy to shine like a diamond…even though it’s gold. It doesn’t matter, he just wants it to look pretty. He wants it so shiny that light will bounce off it and blind people, that’s how shiny he wants Crocodile’s gold hook to be, and as he finishes polishing it, he smiles to himself, now a little sweaty because of the poor ventilation in the workshop.
Buggy moves on to Yoru next and as he holds the sword up, he once again takes the time to mentally complain about the pure weight of the object alone, wondering how Mihawk carries the damn thing on his back all the time without having any problems. He must have a spine made out of steel.
(Buggy wishes he could say the same.)
Buggy stares at the sword, admiring its beauty for a moment before lying it down on the workbench in front of him, he notices as he begins to polish the blade that the bandages around the hilt are a little ragged and dirty now, most likely from how much its owner uses it, and Buggy gets another idea in his head at that moment, wondering if there’s anything that he can rewrap the hilt of the sword with. He figures that he’ll worry about that a bit later though as he begins to polish Yoru, and just like with Crocodile’s hook, Buggy can’t help but think that the sword would look so much cooler and prettier if it was shinier. Like, yeah, it’s already stunning, but it just needs that extra layer of flashiness to really make it stand out, and so he takes his time polishing the blade, shining it until it’s bright and pretty, and so dazzling it makes Buggy’s eyes hurt, and once he’s done he looks for something to rewrap the hilt with.
It takes him a little while, but he does eventually find some white leather that he thinks could probably be used to wrap the hilt with, and he begins to unwrap the bandages from around the sword, which, by the way, takes a whole lot longer than Buggy thought it would.  He eventually manages to get the bandages wrapped around the hilt off though, and then proceeds to wrap, and unwrap, and then wrap the sword again. He does this several times because this too, isn’t as easy as he thought it would be, but he slowly starts to figure out how to make the leather around the hilt look juuuust right...When all of a sudden, he hears loud, quick footsteps coming from the outside of the tent, but he figures it's just his men ready to start their day.
How long have I been here? Buggy wonders as he continues to wrap Yoru’s hilt. He doesn’t have a watch on him, but he doesn’t feel like he’s spent that much time in the workshop, maybe because he’s genuinely enjoying himself and likes the idea of possibly making Mihawk and Crocodile happy?
“Hey, Clown, you in there?!”
Buggy pauses in an instant. Crocodile…? He wonders, taking a moment to figure out who the gravelly voice that just called out to him belongs to. Oh no! The surprise, it’s going to be ruined if he doesn–
Too late.
Mihawk and Crocodile come barging into the tent, both red in the face and looking like they want to snap Buggy’s neck but to be fair, they always look like that. Buggy pauses for a moment and stares up at his two chief officers, unsure of how to explain himself now that he’s been caught. Damn it, he really thought that he could get everything done before they realized their stuff was missing!! Seriously, how long has he been in the workshop?!
Buggy places Yoru down for a moment as the other two former warlords approach him, and he notices how their expressions go from unbridled rage to pure confusion in a moment’s notice as soon as they get a little closer to him. He stands up and picks up Crocodile’s hook first and hands it to him, “I know I shouldn’t have taken your stuff,” He admits, and both Mihawk and Crocodile’s confusion only seems to grow, “But I just suddenly thought to myself: ‘Wow, i want to do something nice for them so that maybe we could be friends…and that you guys would look so cool if your weapons were all clean and shiny…” He chuckles lightly for a moment, trying to find the right words to explain how he got ahead of himself, but everything was all out of the goodness of his heart.

“Seriously, guys, i was hoping that i could get everything polished before you even noticed your things were gone, but obviously that didn’t happen…” He sighs, rubbing the back of his head, “But, yeah, i wasn’t trying to make you guys mad or anything, just wanted you to look cool and to be friends!”
There’s absolute silence after Buggy’s explanation. Crocodile looks down at his hook, twisting and turning it in his hand as he examines it, and then suddenly he mutters a quiet, “Whatever, just don’t steal it again.” before he makes his leave, and honestly… Considering this is Crocodile we’re talking about, Buggy feels like things went a lot better than they could have… but still, he’s a little disappointed at that reaction. Was Crocodile’s hook not shiny enough? Or is he just really upset that Buggy stole his hand in the first place? Ah, shucks… Maybe he messed up. Maybe he should have done something else for him instead…Is his relationship with Crocodile going to be even more strained because of this?
Aw, man. He hopes not!
Buggy turns to Mihawk next, who is still staring at him speechlessly with wide eyes. He gives him a small, little smile, hoping that he hasn’t screwed things up with Mihawk too, “Uh, no offense, but the bandages around your sword were a little worn out, so uh, i thought i’d rewrap your sword too. I’m almost done, just give me a second,” Buggy tells him and then sits back down on the stool he was using, quickly finishing his job and wrapping Yoru’s hilt tightly, and afterwards he stands back up and gives Mihawk a proper grin, hoping that he might be a little more appreciative of his gift. “There! All done,” He says, handing the sword back to its owner.
Mihawk continues to just stare at him even after he gets his sword back, and honestly, Buggy didn’t do any of this for a thank you or praise, even though that would be nice, he did this because he genuinely wanted to change things between him, Hawkeye, and Crocodile…So, he’s a little shocked when Mihawk simply sighs before quickly leaving the workshop too, not even saying another word to Buggy.
…So, are they not going to be super cool best friends?
((A/N: Hopefully this isn't ASS.))

Can I ask for a little bit of angst with Al-haitham? Like he just stoped being romantic and Put effort in the relationship because he thought he fell out of love, so eventually reader ends the relationship and moves forward with their life. By the time Al-haitham wants reader back, they're already in a relationship with another person (Maybe Diluc? 👉👈)
Sorry if my english isn't good 🥺
Gender neutral reader, angst due to the nature of Alhaitham being a bad lover lol. Going with Diluc here, enjoy!
--
He had grown tremendously distant from you recently. It wouldn't have been noteworthy if it was anyone else, but Alhaitham was that monotonous that you knew when something happened. He didnt get you to sit on his lap as he reads anymore, he doesn't ask you if you wanted anything when he went to get his lunch, he only holds your hand in public.
You very much love him, and you wanted to have him in your life. You were determined to find out what exactly was wrong with the relationship. Being honest with yourself, nothing seemed out of place. You hadn't done anything that would upset him. When you got him his lunch one day without being asked, Alhaitham merely said 'you can have it, I'm not hungry now'. You went to hug him, and he didn't wrap his arms around you like usual.
Over time, the harsh feeling in your chest only intensifies. No longer could your heart take this, you had to talk to Alhaitham about him being suddenly distant.
The conversation didn't last long. Sadly, you found out he didn't feel the feelings he once had for you. He explains it wasn't any actions you did, he just no longer felt like he loved you. You take that as the final straw, breaking things off before walking out of his house.
--
You moved to Mondstadt permanently for work, realising Mondstadt was the best place for your company to thrive. A place where people were, generally, more relaxed. A place that wouldn't remind you of the broken relationship with Alhaitham, and somewhere you could possibly meet someone.
To your surprise, the 'someone' in this case was none other than the owner of Dawn Winery, Diluc. You heard that he was a stoic man, someone that was fully committed to his business and his work with the adventurers guild. You meet him through a business meeting, him negotiating good terms for your company to contribute to the Adventurers Guild. While there was not an immediate spark, you both did feel comfortable enough around one another to go for a dinner together.
One meal became another, and eventually Diluc was the one to admit he had fond feelings for you, romantic ones. You admit you return these feelings, and Diluc nods before he takes you on a nightly stroll.
Diluc knew about Alhaitham through your constant questioning if he actually loved you, and if he was going to grow bored of you.
Meanwhile, Alhaitham had been trying to find you. Being away from you, not seeing you every day, it made his heart grow incredibly fond. He wanted to confess his feelings, to make you feel as loved as you made him feel. The thought of losing you because he got that used to your affections that he stopped trying at all with the relationship disturbed him.
--
Alhaitham was a wine connoisseur, and when he heard word of Diluc planning on having a talk in Sumeru regarding his wines and their properties (Well, mainly the free sampling of wine as well as possibly ordering more wine). As always, he kept an eye out for you everywhere he went.
On his walk towards the venue, he spots you taking in the scenery. He walks towards you, you turning to see who was walking so quickly, and your heart sinks as you see Alhaitham.
Before he can start to win you back, however, your boyfriend also walks over. He wraps an arm protectively around you, you leaning into his touch, and he makes eye contact with Alhaitham.
"How can I help you?" Diluc asks. "I couldn't help but notice you briskly walking towards my partner."
"Ah, I was simply hoping to catch up with an acquaintance." Alhaitham responds.
"And it has nothing to do with the fact you realised you still have feelings for them?" Diluc raises a brow, Alhaitham staring at him. "You're too late. They're with me now."
"..." Alhaitham thinks to himself. He looks over at you, realising you were being treated better than he could offer. "Treat them right." Alhaitham nods, deciding to just go home instead of attending the lecture he was previously looking forward to.

i need mal to have a mental breakdown so bad it makes me look stupid
this is the part where i beg you to hear me out. listen. mal's been a bit more like himself these last few chapters but his route still feels stilted. i know you know what i'm talking about. every time there is one of those "one of the LIs reacts to you getting hurt or something of the surt" things, mal's is always the most lukewarm, if not outright cold. the passion and personality only really comes out when we kiss. and like, listen, i romance almost exclusively women and POC (usually Black or brown POC) in this app (I'm pretty sure Aerin is the only white male LI I've ever had anything with? lol), so i'm very very used to my LIs of choice having obviously had a lot less thought when their routes were written. but this is different. it feels almost intentional. and his book 1 route wasn't like this, either
and what calls my attention the most is that mal almost never smiles lately. in book 1 smiling was pretty much mal's default sprite. i think mal was smiling, like, 50% of the time he was on screen, if not more, and the other expressions had to share the rest among each other. but in book 2 we go entire chapters without mal smiling once. and if you pay attention he almost never looks angry or sad, either (he never looked sad a lot but he did look angry often enough, i know because i always laugh at his angry face. rip king ily but calm down). he is in his neutral expression sprite 90% of the fucking time. he looks neutral more often than tyril does (although tyril obviously smiles a lot more in book 2 than he did in book 1, it's noticeable. still, though, he's tyril)
and we know that mal used humor and an untouchable persona as a defense mechanism in book 1, it's been said. so it makes sense that mal was smiling all the time; i remember mal felt more real when his face turned neutral, at least to me. and mal keeps making the same jokes as before, so - why is he not smiling?
and like we know that mal is not okay. it's been shown. the self sacrificial tendencies, the overworking himself, the self doubt. it's been said in text. but i think the neutral sprite is the biggest clue here. because a lot of the time, mal is being objectively funny, but his neutral sprite makes his jokes feel flat. mal feels flat. and i think it's because he's trying to cling to his old coping mechanisms - charming, funny personality - but he doesn't have the energy to anymore, because he's changed, because he's exhausted. and he's said that he felt like he was trying to keep the group together on his own, and we know that mal, for all his damn posturing, takes his responsibilities seriously when he accepts them. he learned how to patch a roof at age 6 so wren could sleep better. he paid off her debt before he paid his. he built a fucking orphanage, for fuck's sake. when mal decides that he's gonna do something, he gives it his all, and he refuses to be stopped. he's going to the goddamn thieves guild to help MC. he's been on the run from the guild for fucking years and they never found him despite him being in whitetower. this mf is dedicated
all of that is to say: during this last year, mal wouldn't stop. he refused to stop. going to the garden every day. building the orphanage. keeping tabs on imtura (i'll never shut up about it HE KEPT TABS ON IMTURA). trying to keep the friend group together. taking care of and feeding a bunch of fucking orphans. the only way to keep yourself going with this much responsibility at once is by repressing every fucking feeling hard and not thinking about anything else. which explains the constant neutral face. mal can't feel anything, because he barricaded everything inside himself so he could keep going. the only way he can ever express himself is physically, when he kisses MC, and that's about it. and so he never quite expresses any feeling, even concern for MC, or smiling, or anything, because he's too busy not stopping, because if he stops he'll crumble
so like. for this to have any closure at all. mal has to crumble. i think he's past the point where he can talk about this healthily and avoid a major breakdown. there's too much threatening to burst, and he's too tired. i genuinely cannot see any way for this to be resolved that doesn't involve mal fucking breaking down, and finally acknowledging how much he's hurting. he's gonna have to stop and look at this, and clearly this will only happen once it comes bursting out of him
and i want it, god damn it! i want mal to fucking lose it. i want that catharsis and i want the angst and i want the drama. fuck!!!!
but if there was ever a time for mal to lose his shit, it was chapter 13. i even wrote about it at the time. i mean, he had just been talking with MC about how much he was hurting when they were gone. fixing the roof and talking about how he feels like he's dragging the group down and he's the least important one. and then MC disappeared. again. in the shadow realm. with valax. and he had no idea where they were. and... nothing. nada. "don't do that to me again 😐". so i struggle to imagine what could possibly be worse than that to trigger a breakdown. MC full on dying and ressurrecting nia style? i mean, seriously
and so i'm climbing the walls because if mal has a breakdown? then everything up to this point will have been good writing. the way every scene felt stilted, most jokes fell flat, everyone felt that distance between mal and MC, that shitass "reunion", it will all have been part of his arc and i'll love it and hold it dearly because oh yeah, i fucking love emotional repression for the sake of self sacrifice, sign me the fuck up. but if not then i don't see how any of this can be part of a coherent arc, and so it'll just have. sucked. after his route in book 1 being so good and satisfying they just, what, gave up? lost their groove the first few chapters and then regained it later but never really addressed it? i don't know, man. i really hope whatever's coming is good but i'm used to choices letting me down, so
this post doesn't have a beautiful conclusion or anything i'm just kinda anxious and frustrated. this is why i hate reading things that aren't finished. god damn it

im beginning to explore antipsych but do you think it would be worth it to study psychiatry first? like look at the textbooks they give undergrads, the dsm 5 etc. (and if so do you have any recs for introduction texts to psychology lol)
this will entirely depend on what specific types of questions you're trying to answer. textbooks in particular will speak to some questions (the way the field presents itself to students; the official ie guild-determined consensus on key issues) but not others (how practitioners actually think and practice, what ethical violations are occurring in practice, how patients understand their own diagnoses and treatment experiences, what practitioners are being taught from sources like pharmaceutical reps or professional conferences). you should also be attentive to local and temporal distinctions, meaning, think about what specific time period and place you're interested in (& a text is speaking about) as you try to synthesise different texts and ideas; this sort of historical awareness will also affect what (if any) primary sources you're interested in from both the psych and antipsych camps. if you do want to read current psy-science textbooks, here is what i would recommend: do a few minutes of research into what the top (meaning, most frequently used) psych textbook companies are in the country or countries you're interested in; figure out what titles they sell (you can usually do this on a publisher's website); and then track down free versions online. again, though, whether this is a valuable exercise depends heavily on what you're trying to find and what sorts of questions you're asking. as a matter of general comprehensibility, most antipsych literature will make at least a cursory attempt to summarise and explain the psych positions it's arguing against (there are some useful books that do this wrt dsm diagnoses in this list), and there are also other sorts of documents and sources you may want to investigate if you're trying to understand psychiatry beyond its very theoretical presentation in an undergrad context.

okay but now surely you heal our hearts with a part two of the fairy heart ask when team Natsu reacts to Lucy becoming a thought projection just like Mavis?? bet she just shows up in their living spaces like they used to do to her lol
I was actually just talking about this!
Lucy gets absolutely giddy when she finally figures out how Mavis was able to materialize herself. Her mind is filled with revenge for all the times they broke into her house
The first person she thinks to harass is Natsu, but he literally never goes home so Lucy can't wait in his house
So instead, she goes for Gray first. Lucy snoops through everything he has out
Gray comes home and finds her floating in front of his desk with tears in her eyes. Gray has a sketchbook open on the desk with a sketch of Lucy surrounded by the rest of her team
Gray freaks out at seeing her and tries to hug her. His arms go straight through her
Gray tells her that he started sketching again because he was scared he would forget what she looked like
After Lucy explains what she figured out, Gray insists they go to Natsu and Wendy next
Gray keeps trying to grab her hand and drag her but his hand goes right through. He gets increasingly annoyed, but Lucy finds it hilarious
When they get to the Lacrima where Natsu and Wendy have been sleeping for the past week, Lucy cannot help but mess with Gray some more
Gray goes running in (completely forgetting about his fear of looking at her in the lacrima), excitedly telling the dragon slayers that Lucy was a ghost and that she was able to talk to them. He turns and gestures to where Lucy should be and there's nothing there
Natsu yells at Gray that he's not funny and the two start fighting for the first time since Lucy sacrificed herself
While Natsu is distracted, Lucy pops up behind Wendy and whispers "boo" in her ear
Wendy jumps and screams so loud that the boys stop fighting
Everyone turns and sees Lucy floating there grinning. They all run (including the exceeds) and try to hug her
Natsu runs straight through her and crashes into the lacrima. Lucy yells at him not to break it. She's still in there after all
Everyone is crying by this point. Happy in particular is drenched in tears
Lucy asks where Erza is and everyone gets quiet. She is able to pry the information out of them eventually and they decide Lucy should go alone
This is the first time Lucy is serious about revealing herself. She sits with her hands in her lap and waits for Erza to arrive
Erza gets home and walks right past her. Lucy is too nervous to speak
Finally she whispers a tentative "Erza" and the redhead drops what she was holding and turns to Lucy as white as a ghost
Lucy tries joking that she thought Erza would be happier to see her. But Erza just stands there shaking with tears forming in her eyes
It gets super sappy and the girls cry together for hours. Erza opens up about everything she had been hiding from the guild and Lucy makes her promise never to do that again
Then Lucy finds out how all her friends coped and they are in trouble. She uses her ghostly powers to make sure they are all taking proper care of themselves and will literally follow them around complaining until they did so

Song of Six
Better known as the Dungeons and Dragons Cartoon DnD Game
So I have been bullied (not really) into explaining the DnD campaign I’m running
Back in 1983, there was a Saturday morning cartoon themed around Dungeons and Dragons. That cartoon ran for three seasons, and then was cancelled before the final episode was released officially.
I made a campaign based around this pitch: “Ten years ago, a group of children from Earth were sent to a mysterious realm. They were to be heroes. They didn’t do that. They never came home. You are a group of people gathered by Dungeon Master to find the original heroes, and convince them to save the world.”
That world is called Untoril. It’s a… strange version of the Forgotten Realms (thus the name being “Un-Toril”). It’s full of characters you know, but altered by this world and its struggles. Characters from the Drizzt novels, the 2023 DnD movie, Baldur’s Gate 3, and of course the DnD cartoon all interact.
The party is a group of six people - two from Untoril, 4 from Earth - and a young woman named Sarah
(Sarah is a character I created based off of the Dragons of Stormwreck Isle tie-in miniatures from Wizkids. The other figures in that set were Hank, Diana, Eric, and Presto from the cartoon. I thought it was odd to package an entirely new character with them, and made lore out of it.)
So
The campaign is the six players plus Sarah traveling across Untoril, looking for the cartoon characters.
So far they have found three of them: Sheila was working with Jarlaxle and his guild; Bobby was a friend of Holga Kilgore and Edgin Darvis and working as a gladiator in Neverwinter; and Presto was studying under the archmage Mordenkainen
They still have yet to find Diana (who is missing), Eric (who is the king of the kingdom of Zinn), and Hank (who they have recently learned is the leader of the rebellion against Dungeon Master).
Oh yeah. Dungeon Master is the BBEG
It’s a campaign about celebrating the vast lore of Dungeons and Dragons, while still trying to lay rest to this version of the world that never got to finish its story.
The campaign tagline is literally “Every story deserves an ending”
And that’s the whole point. In addition to helping the cartoon kids get back home, the party is helping Untoril heal. It’s a revolution campaign
There’s also a giant monster lurking underneath the world that’s slowly manipulating everyone’s memories into forgetting there are problems in the first place (gotta love a good False Hydra)
I could elaborate more on the actual SESSIONS or THEMES or CHARACTERS but that would make this a much longer post and I’m typing this on my phone lol. But my asks are open!
I love this game. I’m very proud of it. And I’m very glad everyone is enjoying it so much
I’m gonna tag them so they see this :)

hi I'm back, back again. I did more art, this time of witch Martyn, bc I LOVE him :)))
also I have more questions for u
so u know how u said in ttsbc that it's respectful to learn the courting rituals of the individual you're trying to woo? Well, I was just wondering if that happened with doc and Etho, and I did some research, and...
Tumblr media
I might draw this lol. I'm picturing Doc just SCREAMING and Etho w/ a thought bubble that just says "hot" LOL.
Anyways the question was over whether doc ever did that for etho or vice versa, but considering the rituals, I'd think not...
2. For traveling thieves, do the collars respond to intentions? In the latest treebark fic, the guy says "do not harm him" whilst referring to Martyn, which made me wonder how vague it could get. Could you say "don't go too far away" in leu of any other movement restrictions (ex. Grian's old "don't fly higher than twice the height of the market), and the collar would just understand? Or, even vaguer, "don't do anything I don't want you to do" to prevent any loopholes people like Pearl would find?
3. Are witches that rare/powerful? Ren comments that Martyn could have the world eating out of the palm of his hand, just because he's a witch, which makes me wonder how important they really are. For example, would he or Gem have more authority? Also what powers do they have besides the training in healing that Martyn got? Any fighting ability, or stuff like that?
ok that's all, have a good day :)
Hello!!!
I SAW! I SAW WITCH MARTYN! He's SO PRETTY! I absolutely ADORE HIM! Thank you so much for drawing and sharing him! I reblogged him as well, I absolutely love him! Super super cool!
Doc just screeching at Etho and Etho doing the like anime girl blush is absolutely hilarious to me. Y'know what. Headcanon away. I love this idea. 😆
Questionsssss 🏃‍♀️
2. Ok, lemme see if I can explain this properly. The collars respond to an 'understanding' of the order. They'll enforce whatever the hybrid hearing it understands the order to be. So in this situation, Ren understands the arena master is referring to Martyn when he says 'do not harm him' so therefore the collar accepts that as the order, and Ren can't make any aggressive moves toward Martyn without triggering it. For your other example, if someone said to Pearl 'don't do anything I don't want you to do' there's a million loopholes in that, because Pearl doesn't know for sure what her master does or doesn't want her to do. I mean, obviously they wouldn't want her attacking them, but like...what if she attacked some other guy? What if she flew really high in the sky? What if she stole some food? She doesn't know for certain that those things aren't things her master would want her doing, so the collar wouldn't trigger. Another example would be if someone said the same thing, 'Do not harm him' but the hybrid truly didn't understand who was being referred too. Then the collar wouldn't trigger. They didn't understand. Of course, in these scenarios, most hybrids as we know them would ask for clarification to ensure they didn't disobey, but even still, that's how it would work. Hopefully this makes sense!
3. Witches are quite rare and powerful, yes! Not to the extent that they're insanely rare and completely unheard of, but like, if you saw one walking down the street, it would be quite the event. Most major cities have a coven of witches established in them, but that's only a few dozen individuals within a population of tens of thousands, so that's still quite rare. Martyn is headed out into the sticks, so the more remote areas he heads too probably only have one witch per town, and so that witch would command a great deal of respect and their word would carry a lot of sway. Martyn being someone on the same playing field as those sorts of people automatically makes him very important. Comparing him to Gem isn't exactly possible. Gem holds a ton of authority in the underbelly of cities and with the mercenary guild, but with your average person...well, they wouldn't even recognize her. Like in the story where she and Pearl are going after that dude, he doesn't recognize her as the Slayer, she has to tell him that's who she is. Martyn is obviously a witch, from how he dresses to his charms and pendant, you can tell at a glance, so that's a much more sweeping sort of authority. He'll come into any conversation already being heavily respected and any average person would take him at his word. As far as powers go, the thing about witches is that they have an incredibly high level of inborn mana, to the point that they can actually die from mana overdose as kids if they don't find someone to help them with training, and we hear about how this almost happened to Martyn, but lucky his teacher took him in. Witches are special because they have unique inborn skills, such as the pocket dimension spell 'Inventory' (yes I know I'm very clever 😭) and also several different appraisal skills. But that's not all! They also aren't restricted to one form of magic. Martyn studied healing magic, but he can still cast fireballs, ice spells, weather magic...pretty much nothing is off the table for him so long as he's at least passable familiar with it. He might not be as good as an expert, but he can pull it off. The only sorts of things he couldn't do would be nature magic, which is specific to elves. But basically any magic a human is capable of, Martyn is capable of. And he also trained and studied for the purpose of being able to mimic and manipulate spells and mana usage that he sees off the cuff, unlike mages who would need to train up to using spells in their domain. And Martyn isn't trained as a fighter! He can't throw a punch, but he can throw a fireball! That's why he needs Ren, because like all good witches, he needs space, focus, and casting time to get spells off. Suddenly being assaulted by bandits on the road by himself wouldn't end well for him, so he needs someone like Ren who is capable of physical combat to keep him safe and give him that time to get his magic going!
Jeez that was long-winded...whoopsie! Well, I hope you enjoyed my rambling! Thank you again SO SO SO much for the witch Martyn art! I will cherish him! 💖

This headcanon has a decent sized lead in to explain it and its really silly in the end, so bear with me. (It also might be a bit all over the place because I'm trying to bang this out quickly becore I have to go, lol)
Zhongli being immortal means that he is a very patient man(Dragon? Dragon.) dispite the ferocity and feral tendency of his youth. So when he meets Childe for the first time and realizes that, yes, this is the man he wants to spend his days with, he's probably hoping that his immortality will end when he forks over his gnosis.
Unfortunately for poor Zhongli, it doesn't, and while he has the time that he craved for with Childe, his darling love is only mortal. But this is Tayvat, where all the world is a stage and the actors will always be called back time and time again for the rolls they have to play, so all Zhongli really needs to do is wait.
It's painful. So painful. Everytime his heart leaves him he's forced to pause and wallow in his own loneliness while waiting for the cycle of things to restart. The first few times really nearly broke him.
But, after a while, he would be able to start looking forward to running into his baobai again and especially looking forward to seeing what trouble Childe manages to get into in this new life.
Of course, Zhongli cannot maintain his position as funeral consultant for too long. People might start to get suspicious when a man claiming to be a fellow mortal doesn't age. He has to switch things up from time to time. And if, in that switching up, he learns how to put himself in the best positions possible to interact with Childe intimately on this new stage, well nobody is going to call him out on his schemes.
On top of this, Zhongli might have stepped down as The Lord of Geo, but he is still The Prime Adepti no matter what he does. So sometimes he...invites his fellow adepti into his new schemes.
Now, they aren't always completely fresh ideas. He's been a professor several times (not just because he loves the way Childe jokingly called him that in their first life together all those years ago), a member of the millelith in various positions a few times, a boss of a (shall we say) family twice, an artist several times, a champion fighter, an underground fighter, a historical advisor, a museum curator, a librarian, and (much to Venti's loud and cackling amusement) a bard/poet three times.
When times start to shift and things change, he learns new hats too. Joining Venti in learning how to fly planes is always a memory he'll hold as guilded gold (though he can never quite tell if it's out of fondness or from pure frustration). The invention on the internet and watching the subsequent changes from that has been fascinating.
But through it all, every passing of every year, he’s always doing it for Childe. He loves seeing the new ways the younger man will come waltzing into his life. He dreads the days when Childe inevitably has to bow out of it too.
So it goes without saying that Zhongli hoards Childe's time as all these years pass. Hoards away Childe's opinions on the times they live in like their gospel. Hoards Childe's things for him in carefully preserved, neatly arranged rows.
The one thing he can't ever seem to get enough of is the music that Childe brings with him. Zhongli can mark memories to songs that Childe sung along to or hummed the tune of while cooking. He can mark eras and areas by the style and tempo to which Childe swung his hips and laughed to.
Zhongli cannot begin to count the pieces of music that he keeps stored in his hoard, some of it so old that the notes on the yellowed pages haven't been heard by mortal ear for eons. Zhongli was extatic when they came out with vinyl records. Cassettes were even better becuasethey were smaller and took up less space. And then they came out with CDs and Zhongli had to commend mortals for the wonders of their minds. He lost his fucking mind when the first digital music players became avaliable (and then discovered, to his frustration, that the little devices could only hold so much data. He got happier with them as they advanced.)
So when Childe walks back into his life, Zhongli is always excited to reintroduce him to all of his past live's favorites and then show him all the songs Zhongli has been listening to in the mean time. No matter what hat the two of them are wearing in this fresh start, weather it be cop and robber, student and teacher, or fighter to fighter, Zhongli herds them both into a comfortable space with a music player and plays music while he re-bonds with his beloved again.
All of this to say this: This latest reincarnation of Childe, if he was born in the later parts of the 90s/the early parts of the 2000s would have quite a few opinions on music when sitting down with Zhongli. And Zhongli, who does his best but has never really kept up with the more petty tendencies of mortals would very unironically love some music that Childe might have gotten negative opinions about from growing up in the times that he did.
Here's the thing, when Childe's at home, he has his younger siblings, and for a while he was the younger sibling, so most of what he listens to is clean for kids. (I'm sure mans has most of the Tayvat equivalent to Disney memorized at this point.) He's also a workaholic (as evidenced by the fact that The Knave said he was supposed to be on vacation in Fontaine, but when we meet up with him again he's literally out working for the branch of Northland Bank in the area) So if someone on the internet says a band is cheesy, unless he wants to use up his scant little bit of personal time to check it out, he usually just has to take them at thier word. It probably fits that in this life, he works as a Northland Bank official (and sometimes participates in the particular brand of dept collection all Snezhnayan banks are known for)
Here's the other thing, Zhongli is a fan of rock and roll music, as evidenced by Xinyan's voice line about him (if you know you know. If you don't, go look it up it's fucking hilarious. All the headcanons about Zhongli, the god of rocks, loving rock music give me life and I love the little but of crumblike evidence for it) and is probably thrilled to listen to the way its changed and evolved over the years. He's also thrilled with the way its grown in popularity! I think in this life he probably decided to take it easy and fall back into one of his old roles. It probably helps that the new director of Wangsheng Funeral Parlor reminds him so much of her ancestor.
So, when Zhongli and Childe sit down, Zhongli will definitely just start playing the music. Childe will probably listen to the lyrics first (as an elder sibling gaging if something is appropriate for the younger ones might). Now, the song that Zhongli is showing him right now is not appropriate for his siblings, but Childe like it alot.
Curious, he asks Zhongli what the name of the band is. Imagine Childe's face when Zhongli replies, unironically and happily, Nickelback. Imagine Childe's internal struggle when he realizes he really likes Nickelback dispite everything he's read on the internet dissing them (for no reason). Imagine the blush on Childe's face when he hears some of the things described in those songs coming off of the elegant funeral consultant's lips (low key imagining them doing some of those things together( the song 'animals' comes to mind )
In short, Zhongli would unironically like Nickelback and would make Childe like them too. Childe would not know what that.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk

Hey, do you have any recs for long form, more serious ttrpg systems for fantasy settings? I feel like I hear a lot about short/definitively-lengthed systems, but I've been yearning for a DnD-esque system without all the baggage of equip loads and complicated Challenge Ratings and other rules-y baggage I don't super care about.
do i! do i ever!
serious & long-form systems do on the whole tend to be crunchier than shorter systems (not always, but generally); nevertheless, i've picked out a........ handful......... ok there's Several, i did try to control and limit myself but u kno.......... games......... anyway, here are some that are considerably less crunchy than d&d but still lend themselves to long fantasy campaigns.
uh. under the cut for. oh god it's so long. it's so long. tried my best to explain them, u see. (which is also why it took me so long to reply lol, sry abt that)
godeater (& godeater 2.0): play in a broken, post-apocalyptic fantasy world, where dead and dying gods warp the land, and you raid their bodies for divine magic to help support humanity. 2d10-based, get weird & funky with it! i admit a small preference for version 1.0, which gave u some loose examples but left much of the worldbuilding and even character building up to u to create; 2.0 has some extra books that go with it that i haven't much looked into yet, but seem to give more solid lore to work with, if u would like that.
when the guilds pay in copper, crime pays in gold: alchemical guilds pay shit wages to use people for magical experiments. go do crimes on 'em with your own magic. d6 base, assign dice to stats to make ur own dice pool; fairly light rules and in fact very little in the way of instruction or hard lore on the gm's side, so better played with an experienced gm who's good at making their own stuff, but certainly campaign material for the right gm!
third empire - violence + beauty: the world sucks, and has sucked for a while, through two oppressive empires and into a third one. you play adventurers who are trying to carve out a little goodness, a little justice, a little vengeance, in the world. y'know. lasers & feelings based, but expanded beyond the original (which also comes with it if u get it!) into more lore, more character choices, very collaborative worldbuilding, downtime mechanics, etc etc.
ruby radiance 6e: streamlined dungeoneering built to let ppl play the way actual play podcasts sound, essentially. d20 pool system, based on trophy mechanics but v much adjusted. lots of choices to make during character creation & leveling, but much much less to keep track of during the playing part. u get it.
wizard pals: all of you are wizards, going on adventures and trying to accomplish your goals in a fantasy world. d12-based, fairly lighthearted (can lean silly but u could use it for more serious if not super grimdark adventures), much worldbuilding left up to the gm, but very simple rules, so.
grimblade rpg: (speaking of grim lol,) action & adventure in a grim fantasy world; things like character creation and rewards (and magic) fully imply a fantasy world, but worldbuilding is left up to the gm, altho there are many tables to roll on to give some help. uses d4, 6, 8, and 10; all rolls are contested rolls, with dice picked based on how serious the gm feels this roll is.
shattered aether: post-apocalyptic science fantasy, you roam around a fucked up magic world and protect ppl from various dangers. 2d6 based, based on the lumen system so fairly combat-forward in a very high-action very cool asskicking way. for some reason the font chosen for this book is murder on my eyes, but if u can get past that (or just zoom in lots and read a bit at a time) it's straightforward, simple, and fun!
familiars of terra: this one may be a little too crunchy, but i love it a lot and rly the most crunch is in character creation and tracking experience, actual gameplay is (imo) pretty easy. post-post-apocalyptic fantasy world, some science fantasy elements depending on where you choose to focus, bcos there are absolute PAGES of lore on this extremely cool and enormous world; you and your party go around with your soul-bonded animal friends to spread hope and healing and also do cool shit. y'know. card-based, again it is probably more crunchy than ur looking for but less abt tracking what you can do during things and more abt tracking experience in order to level up stats, so.
1400 quest: ok that last one was crunchy, this one's very uncrunchy. pick a handful of things and get going! clearly inspired by d&d, but very very streamlined, so things that were pages of mechanics are like, one or two sentences. gm's side of it is like, a handful of rollable tables and then do whatever, so prolly for the more experienced gm. d6 based, but you may have occasion to use other dice. also if you like this one there's others by the same author focusing on other things (1400 mage, sneak, etc), or you can check out others in the 24XX type of games, which started out sci fi but has since been expanded to a bunch of other stuff. u kno.
beast dream: pokemon-inspired game where you make friends with magical beasts and go on magical adventures! d6-based, forged in the dark, so there is a little crunch wrt deciding on position etc and stuff like stress, but the author rly wanted to focus in on letting u adventure and have fun without getting bogged down in numbers and i think that shows, stuff like load and reputation aren't so much a thing.
cognatons: play as sentient, magic-filled automatons doing whatever fantasy adventures your robot heart desires. d4-based, caltrop core, so you get a fairly simple & defined set of actions; less to keep track of, easy to follow.
dethrone the divine: you're gonna overthrow the gods, and also take their places. you're already either divine, semi-divine, or magically powerful in other ways, and you adventure with the goal of gathering power and followers so you can take the place of the shitty gods in power. d6-based, pretty straightforward system, makes characters v cool and powerful, which is always fun.
perilous: do you love dungeon crawls bcos i love dungeon crawls... streamlined and easy to understand fantasy dungeoneer adventures in this one! d20-based, leans towards tags instead of complicated numerical skill stuff to keep track of. go to dungeons, fight monsters, get treasure. simple n good. (adds in some metaplot, like who sent you, how will this affect the people living here, whatever, but rly strong with the very old core of d&d-style 'go do a dungeon' kinda thing, if that's what u like.)
high magic lowlives: ok my latest obsession bcos i'm currently planning a big ol campaign for friends in this one. there are classic adventurers in this world, out there cleaning out monster nests or whatever, but they're usually in the employ of the immortal aristocracy. you? you make your money by stealing from and humiliating the immortal aristocracy, because you're a lowlife. it's a dangerous gig, but isn't it better than going into student debt at wizard school? melds high fantasy aesthetics with like, magical twitch streaming aesthetics. fun as hell. uses all the dice and also sometimes tarot cards (mostly just for character creation, u kno). easy to understand rules, i'm having a great time.
ellipses rpg: setting-agnostic system (make ur own setting!) with simple, streamlined rules and an emphasis on improvisation. d20 based, rly just some very basic foundation and then a lot of encouragement to make things up and do what's fun. so like, loosey goosey & not super structured if you want structure, but could be fun!
unbound: setting-agnostic system but with much more formal structure, got structure around how to collaboratively worldbuild your setting and everything. obvs this means some crunch, but it's still not super crunchy, nice and straightforward rly. lotta character options but not so complex and math-heavy, u kno. card-based system. designed actually for a series of short campaigns in a linked world, tho, so if ur not up for exploring new characters a lot, may not be for you.

02/01/202....3!? Devlog
Halloooooo everyone!
It's been a while since my last proper update here so I am going to be posting a bit of an update and recap and plans for 2023 post. ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ
I think we all know my big accomplishment in 2022 was releasing Gilded Shadows and then updating the game with Quill's route. 🥳
I also fully drafted Reuben's route and did one heavy revision of it! I've gotten through my second revision up to about Chapter 9.
The un-coded word count of Gilded Shadows is 985,000 words. (For those of you who are new and haven't seen me explain this before - the "uncoded" word count is the word count in Scrivener. All the routes lose words when I code them. The coded word count in Renpy is somewhat smaller and Reuben's route isn't coded yet so I don't know how long the game will be once his route is in the game.)
Still. That's a lot of words! LoL
Gilded Shadows is still lumbering along like the behemoth that it is. When Reuben's route is fully revised and checked for typos, I'll move on to coding it and working on sprites.
And then my last route will be YUU! Yuu is going through a bit of re-planning and re-structuring at the moment but I am really looking forward to writing his route.
I do not have an ETA on release for either of these routes beyond "This year." It's impossible for me to predict how difficult the writing will be. Reuben's route has been really tricky to write just because the plot is sort of crime...thriller? ISH? And I've had to do a lot of editing to smooth out how things flow. That kind of thing is difficult to predict until you've actually started writing.
ANYWAY. Throughout the year I've written a few small things that will eventually go in the lore book and taken some notes on other things I want to include. ☆*: .。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆
But I won't pretend 90% of my energy hasn't gone to just developing this game and getting it out there.
I have done some work and planning on next projects though. On my so called "Late Night Projects" (IE stuff I work on late at night or on weekends and my spare time). All these projects are things I hope to complete after Gilded Shadows is complete.
Some of them are experimental (trying out new features, new release styles, new game structures, etc) and some of them are stories I've had saved on my hard drive for years and just finally want to finish.
I'm really excited to eventually explore my space guilds and steampunk worlds and dark fantasy worlds and all the other ideas I have. I may have to work on these projects until I'm 90....but I am DETERMINED. 💪
Through 2023, I want to finish Gilded Shadows and all Gilded Shadows content (lore book, art book, KS rewards, etc). And then start to work on my next project!
So I hope you all stick with me - through this year and (hopefully) many years of game-making to come!
Thank you all for your endless support and encouragement. I truly hope this year is a better and happier year for everyone.
Be blessed! And I love you all. 💖💖

Hello everyone, back with the third and final post about my Dragon Age: Dreadwolf story ideas and now we're talking about companions and advisors.
As always, SPOILERS for the games and expanded media and also understand that these are simply ideas and not expectations for the new game.
Warriors
Andefels Grey Warden: satisfies the traditional "Grey Warden" companion while also giving further insight into Anderfels' culture and beliefs
Kal Sharok Dwarven Warrior: representative of Kal-Sharok and allows more insight into Kal-Sharok
Mortalitasi-Revived Spirit Warrior: nice Nevarran representation and satisfies the "unconventional" companion (think Shale, Justice, and Cole) . Recruitment could work similar to the Grunt recruitment mission from Mass Effect 2, where you're originally trying to recruit a Mortalitasi mage but they can no longer join you and leave you with their "best work".
Rogues
Scout Lace Harding: somewhat satisfies the previous recurring character returning as a playable character (Oghren in Awakening, Anders in 2 and Varric in Inquisition)
Knight Squire Vaea: extended media representation
Antivan Crow: return of Antivan companion representation
Mages
Liberati Elven Mage: Tevinter Imperium representation
Tal-Vashoth Saarebas: Seheron/Qunari Representation
Rivani Seer-Apprentice: Rivaini representation and could be an unexpected key ally to give information on the true nature of Solas via her relationships with the spirits of the Fade
For now, all of these companions are considered romance options since why not (excluding the Nevarran corpse lol)
Advisors
Dorian Pavus + Maevaris Tilani: Tevinter leaders and could give more insight into the Lucerni political faction that they lead.
Varric Tethras: given his presence in trailers and expanded media, I think it would be for the best to have him as an advisor that can provide resources to our PC via the Merchant's Guild.
The Inquisitor: personal history and unfinished business with Solas and would love for the Inquisitor to have a sorta mentor relationship with the next hero.
Essentially, these companion choices directly line up with the possible origin ideas from the last post. I think it would just be really cool for our PC to have at least one companion they can directly relate to i.e. an Antivan Crow PC talking about previous contracts with the Antivan Crow companion, a female mage Rivani Lord of Fortune explaining to the Rivani Seer Apprentice why they didn't become a Seer Apprentice as well, etc.

In the spirit of actually explaining instead of just being snooty when I say that we need a clear definition of capitalism to critique it, I will give two examples of economies I don't think were capitalist, fascist Japan and medieval Venice, why I think they weren't, and what capitalism then means.
I said a lot of the first one last time, but to try to characterize the economy of fascist Japan more generally, it was an economy geared toward the needs of the military, which came to dominate every aspect of public life. The technologies of mechanization and measurement of production, and the deskilling of labour were there, as was, in practice, continuing proletarianization and alienation from their labour, so why wasn't it capitalist?
Because capitalism requires not just a drive for profit but an economic environment where firms are free to set their own prices, compete amongst one another (until a certain point lol) and pursue not just positive profits, but positive rate of profit: that is, more nominal profit every year. Moreover a capitalist society is one where one where absolute control over society is ceded over time to the capitalist class which weilds this power to extract further value from every area of society.
As I said yesterday, this does not, as far as I know, characterize the fascist Japanese economy. Instead control over civil society and the economy accrued over time to the military, which did then exploit every aspect of society, but toward the goal of militaristic expansion, not nominal profit. Meanwhile zaibatsu did of course rake handsome profits off the top of this arrangement, but they did so via fix-priced no-competition contracts with the military-run government, with the military holding the power of life and death over any individual firm. This is not a desirable economic system, but it is also not capitalism.
The counterpoint then is medieval Venice, a society highly driven by commerce and the profit motive and which as a result displayed ahead of time many of the social changes that would be brought about by capitalism. Within the bounds of the city we see greatly diminished importance placed on the social prestige of the nobility, and a nearly unprecedentedly secular and open society.
This economy was very heavily based on open markets and free-trade, and even displayed some early analogues to financialzation, even before the advent of the first bourses, and even an emphasis not just on profit but positive rate-of-profit, along side highly sophisticated advances in banking and accounting.
So why isn't medieval Venice capitalist? Well, because of the relations of production that brought about the goods it's merchants were trading. Yes, the Venetian traders traded in enormous volumes for the time and dealt in formidable sums of money but as far as finished goods were concerned, they were produced via arrangements with guilds over large geographical areas, and hence the sheer scale of goods being traded, but they were still goods that were being hand-made by artisans across the Mediterranean with no concept of productivity by the labor-hour, much less anything approaching mass-production. Capitalism requires mechanization, standardization, mass production, and technologies of measurement-of-production in order to actually be capitalism, and these technologies simply did not yet exist in medieval Venice.
I hope this helps to understand what I'm referring to when I talk about capitalism, and why I say that its fall, as a historically contingent mode of production, is inevitable

Hey Fox! I'm currently working on a Venture Bros. Iceberg video that's inspired by your iceberg chart but includes several new entries. I'm reaching out because I'm quite curious about a few of the entries you've listed and would appreciate it if you could explain them or point me to some sources. I'd be more than happy to give you credit in the video. I just want to make sure I've got everything right. The entries that I'm curious about are:
-The Monarch Was Meant To Be A One Time Villain -Phantom Limb Fixed Brock's Chest -Almost Going To Be CGI -Almost Ended In Season 4 -Master Shake Cameo In Guild Council I believe I know the answer to some of these, but I just wanted to double check with you first. Hope to hear back soon!
Hey man! 👋
@zeroomens
That’s actually cool and it’s been such an honor and I’m actually subscribed to you BTW and I watch some of your videos.
I hardly get mail often LOL XD
Tumblr media
The show itself was pretty niche and I tried scrounging what I can on some info on The Venture Bros Art Book, rewatching bits of the show for details and stuff, the Fandom Wiki Page, 107 Facts Videos by Channel Frederator. Lots of facts on VBros can be pretty scarce as hell so I had to dig deep on research and tried using what I have.
I’ll try my best to explain some of the entries that were on the list:
During development, I remembered Baron Ünderbheit was going to be set up as a major villain until they pushed him aside in the later seasons. As for The Monarch wasn’t going to be in the first episode. In the pilot, he was actually going to be a throwaway character, until they were planning which villain to add in Dia de los Dangerous:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ve sorta confused it with another event where Phantom Limb treated Brock’s wounds during an attack in the mall in Hate Floats S2E2, where the contents removed were: 4 bullets, a blowgun dart, two shark’s teeth, the tip of a mayonet, a twisted paperclip, and a meager handful of buckshot.
Back when Venture Bros was in the draft phases and pitching it to Comedy Central it was planned to be rendered in CGI but wouldn’t work, Jackson Publick wanted to make it 2D to give the cartoon a comic book vibe.
Production stuff going on behind the scenes during the episode, Operation PROM, according to the wiki it said it was the last episode to be animated in World Leaders entertainment. And it was one of the show’s biggest episodes. Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer during production of the final episode in season 4 thought about the show ending there but as just a turning point and not intended to be the finale but they both were taking a break from it. (It takes a long while to make the seasons and episodes of the series)
I thought I saw an Easter Egg of Master Shake somewhere and was a false memory I had and couldn’t find anything about it, but actually found better cameos of Venture Bros in other media to make up for my goof that were real such as Invincible #58 where we see characters that look like Brock and Dr. Venture which is somehow a bit cooler.
Tumblr media
And you see Brock Samson in an episode of Henry Danger… no I’m ain’t joking, it was in S5E33, Rumblr and you even see a bootleg version of Molotov in the background somewhere.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So far The Venture Bros fandom is pretty strong on Tumblr and Reddit, some are willing help you out with some information about some of the stuff I mentioned in the iceberg too and some might actually explain things better than I can and might correct my mistakes. *cri* ToT
Tumblr media
That was my first iceberg and there’s a ton of flaws with the chart, in the future I’m planning on making a remake at some point it’s outdated AF and was made before the movie came out, also I’m glad you are also adding some new entries in your video too and I can’t wait to see your new video and I hope it succeeds dude!💚🌟

1. chuuya plushie looks awesome, 2. don’t feel bad about going through a writer’s block, 3. tell me more about your story ideas 👀 are dazai and chuuya working together or fighting for reader? and what kind of relationship does chuuya have with reader in your other fic? i personally love bf chuuya stuff but lately i’m in a mood for him to pine and yearn
1. Thank you, I’m planning on making a Dazai one when the rest of my yarn gets shipped in.
2. I only feel bad because I feel like I have to provide for y’all cause you’re my bookies 🥺
3. I currently have my Chuuya/Reader/Dazai fic on AO3 called “Lament Of A Bleeding Heart” and the relationship between the MC and Dazai + Chuuya is the slightly more common trope (that I see for Dazai and Chuuya x Reader fics) that MC was working alongside them when they were Double Black. But, I wanted to add some spice so I added a side relationship (platonic) between MC and Atsushi and made MC an older sibling figure to Atsushi because I’m projecting 😭 I switch between the past and present for each chapter and it kind of aligns and intertwines to reave more about the depth of MC’s relationships with other characters as well as the on going issue of an organization called Rubrum Mortem (The Red Death) attempting to over take other mafia gangs :) So if you guys are interested in that, you can find it on AO3 [My user is SuperPeachyNova].
I also have a Chuuya/Reader fic that I’m reworking and planning out since I didn’t like the OG (I forgot to give MC a backstory because I was so focused on the plot which means the MC had no personality or chemistry with Chuuya, that was def my my mistake and I fixed it lol). This plot is wayyyy longer to explain because I’m basing it off not only religion— but I mixed evolution into it because I like oxymorons and creating an organization that mixed religion and evolution was interesting to me.
To start off, MC and Chuuya met while Chuuya was in the Sheep and they were young. MC has a somewhat normal life aside from their parents projecting themselves onto the MC because they never were successful, so they try and make MC their child trophy basically (wanting them to have a high paying and scholarly jobs like a doctor, lawyer, etc.), but because of meeting Chuuya and some other events that happen, they wind up becoming a detective instead because he made them want to help people. Chuuya and MC parted ways after Chuuya joined the mafia because he didn’t want to involve MC, and years later they meet when the ADA and the Port Mafia have to work together to take down The Damnation which is a religious/evolutionary based organization that was working behind the scenes with The Guild. Since The Guild fell apart, they’re stepping up and kidnapping ability users as well as targeting the ADA and Port Mafia members to use for experiments. Chuuya and MC meet again and forbidden romance ensues, teehee.
These fics are both slow burns, by the way. Sorry to those who hate slow burns, but I’m an absolute sucker for the build up and tension 🥳
Thanks for letting me ramble, I love talking about my ideas for fics, but I never know how to write them because I want to make it as interesting and exciting as possible for you guys because I love getting comments about people theorizing about my fics 😭❤️
