We know Vere likes cooking too so maybe some interactions with him would be cute (Him and MC being an absolute menace in the kitchen but still managing to make a tasty meal bwahaha).

this did take me awhile because uHHHHH I don’t know anything about food. When I do remember to eat it’s usually cottage cheese and chocolate (not together, obviously- I’m not crazy 🥺)

Here was my plan okay

I have a huge map in my room and I stared at it like this: 🧍🏻‍♀️ and picked about 17? Countries and put them in a spinning wheel. I chose a TS LI and then span said wheel—and whatever it lands on, MC a makes a dish inspired by the meals there (does that make sense ??)

I might’ve made it too complicated but it was fun-

Warnings: None, vere is just vere. Very possibly ooc, creative liberty.

Notes: Fluff, GN mc. Not proofread and finished at 1 am.

LES START WITH AIS

Ais(Boeuf bourguignon (Beef burgundy)

ALR SO, this was originally Vere’s, but I was having creative difficulties—so I changed this to Ais’. This dish is from France!

So, this one, I think Ais is already hanging out with you (he’s lonely ): )

He’s been having a ROUGH time okay, and so you decide to try out a new recipe on him

One you think he’d like.

Instantly, this man is sauntering into your kitchen, hugging you from the back as he watches what you’re doing. He’s quiet for the most part, just curious as you mix and add ingredients.

He snatches a few as well, and you let him until you’re going to be short on ingredients.

As you stop his hand from picking a chopped carrot, he looks nearly comparable to a scolded dog that was caught counter-surfing.

“Wait just a moment, I’m making this for you, you know.”

Smirking, he reaches for the carrot again. “Ah, should be allowed this then,”

As you swat you wooden spoon at his knuckles, he quickly steals one last carrot before offering his hands up in surrender.

You banish him to the counter, where he returns to watching, (he’s the pretty girlfriend that sits on the counter as you cook omg)

Once you’ve finished, you serve the red stew along with some boiled potatoes, placing it in front of the ever so patient Ais (who definitely didn’t find a way to sneak a bit more snacking in)

You eat in silence for awhile, before you notice how Ais’ eyes keep flickering to you. A brow furrowed.

“Something wrong? Does it taste funny? I thought I followed the recipe—“

He lightly shakes his head, swallowing a mouthful of the stew.

“No, not that. It’s…good, really good.”

“Then what’s the matter?”

He draws a hand over his chin, pondering his words. Or, deciding whether or not to say something. “There a reason you made it for me?”

You didn’t expect him to catch on. You commonly make things for him, for everyone, really. But today was different. Special. You had been noticing the drop in Ais’ mood, the added weight to his steps and the tiredness in his eyes. You made this in hopes to cheer him up, but also to see if it’d get him to talk about what was bothering him.

“You’ve just…you look like you’ve been having a bad day.”

He lapses back into silence, chewing on another spoonful. “I don’t want you to think you need to take care of me.”

You freeze, readying a retort before he continues.

“But…thank you.”

You stir your stew, swallowing. “You’re welcome.”

Another silence, before Ais chuckles. “Stew could’ve used more carrots though.”

WEEEEEEEEEE

He’s such a brat, I love him.

ALR, Now unto Leander !

Leander/Kjøttkaker (Meatballs) sided with Brunost(Brown cheese)

Alright, Leander got Norway. I was originally just going to go for meatballs, but then I saw this brown cheese ?? And though it’s not cheese cheese, I thought it’d be fun since Leander likes cheese platters.

You’ve been feeling rather ambitious lately, and decide to take on your biggest task yet: cooking for all the bloodhounds.

It didn’t seem like a bad idea, since you’ve always loved cooking for people. But it’s already proving to be a harder task than anticipated, as Eridia certainly doesn’t seem to be the home of the freshest ingredients.

One morning searching through rotten vegetables was enough to get you discouraged. You managed to find scraps of fresh-enough spices, but if you wanted more, it would come down to stealing from one of the richer streets. And you definitely weren’t in the mood for that today.

All you really wanted to do was take a bath and get that rotten smell off you.

Popping your back, you sigh before stepping into the bar, avoiding the bustle of the bloodhounds as you make for the stairs.

“MC!”

Turning around, you spot Leander, waving at you from the bar-counter. And that’s when you see crates of crates of vegetables, milk, cheese, and meat. Stunned, you walk over, fingers picking through the vegetables—they’re fresh, fresher than you expected from this place. And the meat, milk, cheese—

“How did you?—“

You had told Leander you wanted to make dinner tonight, before you left- you didn’t expect him to go looking for ingredients.

“—how did you get all these?” You finish, picking up a jar of pearly white milk.

Leander only smiles, leaning forward on the counter. “I know somebody. Will these be enough?”

Avoiding the truth, you had grown to expect that from him. If you had more energy you would’ve prodded. Instead, you put down the milk and run a bandaged hand across your face. “Yeah, I think so—well,” you glance around at the full tables of bloodhounds, all probably starved from work and life down in low-town. At your furrowing brows, Leander straightens, looking ready to March back out the door and come back with another crate.

“No, never mind. This is perfect, thank you.”

Thankfully, it was enough to manage. And with Leander’s help, you were able to go up to bathe as he watched over the food. To reward him, you decide to also make brown cheese. And though it’s not cheese cheese, it was enough to get Leander’s face to light up. Especially when he managed to convince you to unwrap your bandages and feed him a slice or two.

Though, you’re still rather confused on where he got everything 🤨 and why he didn’t get you earlier so you could’ve avoided searching through rotten veggies. Thankfully, your hard work also came with the entire bloodhounds seeing you as some holy entity after finishing dinner.

Kuras: Cōng yóubǐng (Scallion Pancake)

Kuras got China, and with this one—I was able to find a few videos on it. And now I want to eat it—though I cannot cook whatsoever <333

So so so so, with this one, I imagine you get the idea because like…people have brought this up before—but does Kuras even like…eat? Do angels…need to eat?

And maybe you notice how very little, or not at all he seems to eat. And how much he just -works- and goes off into places you can’t follow and comes back from the wastelands. Does he even sleep either?

So one day, you decide to make something for him. You’ve made things for others before, your friends, maybe family, before things went wrong. You don’t really know why you hadn’t made him anything before. But hey! Now’s better than never.

You settle on something not too filling, and something he could snack on during the day. Something he could take out to eat in between patients and with him wherever he goes and refuses to tell you.

Scallion pancakes. You wake up earlier than usual to make them, once finished, instantly rushing over to his clinic so they’re still warm when he eats them. The early morning sends a chill down your cheeks—shivering, you wrap the swathe of cloth holding the pancakes into your cloak, praying it doesn’t get cold.

You narrowly miss a patient exiting the door, looking dull and tired. You nod your head in acknowledgment before rushing inside. “Kuras?”

You find him in the process on shutting the door, golden eyes widening slightly in shock before softening. “MC, are you well?”

You nod, unraveling your cloak to reveal the swathe of cloth. “I…uh, made you breakfast.” Holding it out to him, you watch as his expression turns mildly perplexed. Warm hands closing over yours as he slowly takes it from you.

Like it’s some kind of curious artifact, he unwraps the cloth and stares at the stack of flakey pancakes. He lifts it to his nose, taking a few sniffs. Humming, he then gives you a small smile.

“It smells delicious.”

He then doesn’t eat it, instead, the silence stretches on as the two of you stand there. After a few moments, you awkwardly shift on your feet.

“Is there something the matter?” Kuras asks, tilting his head.

“I didn’t poison it, or anything,” You say, gesturing to the stack.

He lets out a small, quiet chuckle. “I would hope not.”

“So uhm…you can eat it.”

blinking, Kuras raises a brow, golden eyes piercing the dim light of morning. “Eat it?”

You nod, feeling more confused. He recovers quickly, slowly putting it to his mouth. Then someone sneezes behind you and you whip around to see a patient, red-eyed and sniffling.

By the time you turn back, Kuras is wrapping the pancakes back up. “I’ll be right with you,” he says, giving you a nod as his hand comes to your shoulder. “Thank you for bringing me Breakfast—are you in need of anything else?”

You blink, feeling a little frustrated. “No, that was all.”

Though it didn’t go as planned, later that day when hanging out with Ais, you hear about how when he was helping around the clinic, Kuras would take a few bites of a stack of some kind of garlic-smelling pastries.

You would receive a thank you note also requesting another stack the following day.

Mhin: Vitumbua (coconut rice pancakes)

Mhin, got Tanzania :D and with this, I wanted to find something still sweet since they like desserts! Thus, Vitumbua! Also these look so good, I want them so bad )): (I also wanted to add that there’s different kinds of these !! Made in different countries with different names and such, these are just specifically Tanzanian coconut rice pancakes.)

Also I apologize if this time around I seem more scattered-this writing slump is eating me alive 🤗

Okay okay, this one actually makes me so happy cause I think it’s cute- these are also kinda pancakes—and you made them for Mhin to take with them on their patrols.

Every moment making you think of them more.

How they’re doing, if they got enough sleep, if they’re even sleeping and not out killing soulless. You hope that somehow, these make things easier for them. And remind them how much you care. Especially since you’re losing sleep baking for them.

Once the heavy dark night is lifted into a sulking grey, you stack the rice pancakes into a box and head for outside.

Before Mhin can leave, you catch them, offering the cute little box, wrapped with bow and all. You had been up all night baking them, along with a caramel sauce to top it all off.

“What is this?” They ask, tentatively reaching for the box.

You scrub at your eyes, trying not to yawn. “Just a little something warm to remind you of me~” You sing-song, wiggling your brows at them. Chuckling as a blush skates across their pale face.

“I don’t…need anything,” they mutter, glancing away. Shy rays of morning light casting shadows over their features.

“Of course you don’t, but I thought you’d like it anyway.”

Grumbling, they hide the box in their cloak. “…Thanks.”

You cup a hand over your ear, humming. “Huh, what was that?”

“I said…thanks.”

“Hmm, sorry, seems something is plugging my ears!”

They clear their throat, “I said—“ they stop, eyes narrowing. “Don’t press your luck.”

Laughing, you fold your arms, trying to ignore the chill. “Alright, alright. If you end up wanting more, come get me okay? I can show you how to make them.”

They open their mouth, evidently going to ask what ‘them’ are, but you’re already heading back, stretching your arms over your head in a loud yawn. “Have fun on your patrol, say hi to the kitties for me!”

Once you’ve left, Mhin gives the box one more curious look before peeling open the lid. Inside, are ten golden, round pastries resting alongside a jar of bronze sauce.

Gingerly lifting one with their fingers, they take a slow bite. The chilly air of the dreary morning melting in a blooming sweetness. Swallowing, they feel a blush creep over their neck.

You were right, they really were warm.

Somehow, even when killing soulless, or after an annoying, unwanted conversation with Vere, one bite of the rice pancakes made them feel a bit lighter.

And, though they would never admit it, it reminded them of you.

Vere(Spaghetti/Caprese Salad)

So like I said with Ais, this was originally his— but I switched them. These dishes are from Italy!

Okay okay, so something I think would be really cute is Vere not only tasting your new recipes, but helping you to prepare it

Like for spaghetti sauce, maybe you prefer to peel your tomatoes first, and Vere, who was on his way to annoy you, caught the curious smell of fresh vegetables, (or fruit, since uhhh tomatoes) and spots you carefully peeling the ruby skin

Your face is locked in concentration, unknowingly sticking out your tongue as you gingerly avoid cutting your fingers.

It’s such a goofy expression Vere can’t help but stare at you with a hand covering his chuckles—until of course, he can’t resist the urge to scare the crap out of u 😇

Too caught in your work to notice anything amiss, Vere skulks closer until peering over your shoulder, lightly grazing his jaw over the side of your neck. He opens his mouth to whisper something in your ear but—

Taken by surprise, you yelp, squeezing the life out of the tomato you were peeling. It explodes over the both of you, shooting it’s guts very impolitely across your faces.

Vere reels back, a hiss of disgust escaping his lips as he blindly searches for something to clean the tomato remains off his face. He reaches for you and you swat him away.

“Idiot,” He seethes, finding an abandoned wash cloth.

“You were the one that scared me!”

“Still jumpy, hmm? I don’t know how you’ve lasted so long in this pig sty.”

Flicking tomato off your face, you snatch the wash cloth from his fingers. “With you constantly breathing down my neck? It’s a mystery to me too.”

Though you sound irritated, your hands still carefully reach for his face, gently wiping away the spots he missed. When he flinches, you soften your expression. “I forgive you. Come on, you got some on your neck.”

Slowly, but softly, Vere relaxes, though he still watches you with that same confused look he gives every time you offer affection.

It doesn’t take long for his fingers to caress your cheeks, sweeping off the tomato juice and then licking it off his fingers. Eyes taking on a devilish glint.

Hand it to Vere for making cleaning tomato guts off your face seem sensual

Eventually though, you do return to cooking. Vere helping you with peeling, chopping up basil, (sneaking extra spices into the sauce) and stirring the noodles.

Once everything is made, including an extra salad, you find a secluded spot to eat everything. Vere’s eyes watching your face the entire time.

“Do I still have tomato guts somewhere?” You ask, lifting a hand to check your cheeks.

Vere props his chin on his palm. “Did you know you stick your tongue out when you’re focusing?”

“I do not.”

“It’s so cute,”

“You’re just making stuff up so you can make fun of me.”

“I don’t have to make things up to do that, sweetheart.”

You toss your napkin at his face.

Whew. I'm not gonna lie to y'all, this took forever. My goal with this was to recreate my previous Caryl compilation with 1.) all scenes intact, not missing anything and 2.) much better quality. I ran into many issues that I won't bore you with, but in summary - almost everything here is completely lossless from the original files, aside from S10, which I unfortunately had to reencode to fix a few issues I could not solve no matter how much I fiddled with it. However, it is still much better quality than the previous file I had up! These also have 6CH audio, which means that if you make fan videos and use something like Vegas Pro, you will be able to isolate the spoken audio from the music/random background noises and have better, cleaner voiceovers!

All of the seasons add up to about 123 GB, so I'm sorry that these will take up quite a bit more space than before, but the improved quality hopefully makes up for that! These are not perfect, so please forgive any little framerate bugs or very slight (hopefully) issues with video/audio syncing. I'm aware that the audio for S10 is a bit behind, but hopefully not to an extent that ruins anything - that season gave me quite a hard time, and I'm not really sure how to get it just right. It bothers the hell out of me, so I'm sorry, but I did my best. Otherwise, any issues should be pretty minor, but let me know if you run into anything major.

An update on my unfinished au’s!

I have over the last few months fallen deeply out of love with the Sanders Sides series and as a result I have not updated any of my projects in some time. At the current point I am at I am only planning to do the final two installments in the cupid au (because I pretty much lost my affection for the ts series right before the big finale of the project!!) and the lust Roman au (as it is my longest running work to date and I want to comple the project as a show of dedication to my younger self) although it will most likely be on a much quicker time scale than I was intending originally! (Instead of the 11 more parts I was hoping to produce it will probably be closer to 5 and I will most likely skip a few parts of the story that weren’t as important)

I feel a lot of affection for the work I have created but not a lot for the actual series so I’m trying to find a way to rework the stories I’ve created for the au’s to become independent creations that I will enjoy continuing to make! (Aside from the Lust au which I feel is mostly a story I don’t feel the need to come back to/rework since it relies so heavily on the source material) Most of my au’s function as stories mostly separate from canon material except for the characters archetypes present in each, so I’ll be working on retooling/reskinning said work to be more original and workable as long term projects! (Since u guys were really invest in my plots which had almost nothing to do with the canon characterization)

I’m currently working on retooling the Zombie au (Which I used as heavy inspiration for my oc Sophia I sometimes post about and her girlfriend) the Cupid au (I’m putting together more creative designs for the characters so that I can hopefully redo the comic- since I’m super in love with the concept) The sleeping beauty au (since it functions entirely the same as a stand alone story- and I could use the designs of my princess characters from that comic I made a long time ago for Valentine’s Day ) and the Super hero au! (Which I never properly defined and thus have a lot of incomplete ideas for, and my only struggle is coming up with better super hero names for them)

The only one of my main au’s I probably won’t rework is the Evil king au- just because I’m not sure how I could retool it to not just be a story about abuse(I feel more comfortable creating a story where everything is horrible and bad and the people involved are just bad for eachother when it’s an au- because there is other work of those characters where they aren’t that way to balance it out- but if it were my own new characters I feel as though it wouldn’t be nearly as fun to read or write)

This is a series of decisions I’ve been trying to wait on for a long time because I have been hoping something sanders Sides related would come out soon that would re spark my interest but nothing so far has happened- and with the way the story is going I don’t think it’s something that is going to happen. I still love all the work I have created for this fandom and I am so proud of all the collaborative projects I have been able to create with you all! I will happily re-read your asks and comments on my comics and I am still really proud of the community I’ve been able to create!

I’m sad to let this part of my life go (it’s taken up a solid 4th of my lifetime) and I understand that a lot of you all won’t follow me to my new projects- because I understand you guys didn’t come here for random oc projects- or original comics. And Altho it breaks my heart to see some of you move on and leave my notifications I am happy I the time with you all that I did!

Author's Note: It's my first time writing a fanfiction and I wanted to give it a go. So if ever I miss something or there's something wrong please let me know. Enjoy reading!

AN2: Originally this was one of the exercises given to me by my instructor in my class in Creative Writing/Non-Fiction where we write about a situation with our crush - Well, my crush is Bucky, so I wrote about him. (Bucky is not only my crush but my loml)

The shade of the sunlight bounces back to the cold ground as I walk barefoot toward the Avengers Common Room. It's late afternoon and the sun is slowly setting, I don't know if it's really just the amazing architecture of this tower or it's just simply the climate change working its way to healing itself but it's still hot in here, and somehow it sits well with how the tiled floor of the compound feels cold. It just reminds me of the comfort exuded by the cuddle of someone as we lay to each other during movie night.

Bucky and I can be called friends, he's the first person who didn't feel repulsed after I introduced myself— well maybe he's worried, I mean I don't blame him since my powers are kinda weird to think of. Being able to jump out of nowhere, or control something mundane, I would be afraid of myself if I don't know who I am. I have tons of issues—Well who doesn't have any anyway. He's warry but after 2 months of chatting, continuously pestering the living out of him. I knew I would grow on him and he will warm up. After all, I use a special trick on him, Food.

No one in their right mind will refuse the delicacy of something made by me.

"Agent Bambi, the ETA for the team's arrival is 21:00"

I almost trip to the sound of Friday's echoing voice as she announced an update about the arrival of the team. They've gone to one of Hydra's underground facilities to check if something is up since scans show that frequent movements are happening right there. I wanted to go there too but Tony put me on the bench since I got injured last mission.

I got scrap... but Tony and Steve being the Mother Goose they are told me to lay it off and take a rest- and accompany Bucky since he got it bad last time. Seeing the bloody chair where he was put, is not a great thing to see and not a great way to deliver someone into a trip to memory lane.

I lean into the large island counter, pondering what might just come out of the AI's mouth - If Friday even has a mouth. "Come again, Fri?"

"The team's ETA is 21:00 as of the moment, boss says they'll take a detour to prevent any retrace of location."

It makes sense that they will take a detour since I heard from Nat 5 hours ago that movements are happening, well it's not Hydra if they did not take passion into their glorified motto "Cut one head, two will grow" a bunch of sh*ts.

I stretched my arms before I answer, "Okii, tell Bucky that too, and keep me posted. Thank you, Fri"

"No problem, Agent Bambi"

I spot a half-eaten banana laying at the top of the counter, I forgot I'm eating a banana when I rush to the lobby when they call to remind me that I have a package downstairs. I picked it up planning to continue eating it.

Seeing no one would judge me anyway after all I'm alone right now since Buck-buck is holding himself hostage in his room. Then I remember the remaining banana in the fridge — maybe I can whip something from the ingredients right here. As I scavenge the fridge to look for the freaking banana, I see it, a banana so over-ripe, only 1 great thing can come out. Rushing feeling of great success like I just finished an experiment and won a Nobel Peace Prize for the thought that slide into my mind, feeling like there was a light bulb on top of it. I yelled out of nowhere

"Banana Bread!"

This just fucking hit all my dilemmas right now, I forgot to write the report Steve has been nagging me to continue, I'm bored, I'm hungry and Buck's doing his own me time. With this precious banana bread, I can coax Steve from his lengthy speech of self-responsibility in finishing that mission report, this banana bread will ease my boredom, will make my belly happy, and last but not least help lighten the gnawing feeling that's been looming in Bucky's Room.

One thing I know, food solves everything.

"Friday, can you please play some music? Thank you!"

"Playing Speak Now (Taylor's Version) Album"

As I prepare the ingredients and the tools I will need while dancing to the tunes of the music being played. Something came up to my mind, this will be great if I add chocolate chips and if I partnered it with Hot or Cold Choco. While I'm cracking the egg in the bowl in front of me, I turn to open the fridge and get milk for the choco drink when I turned back I notice that messes starting to come to the counter.

I sidestep to look for the paper towel to wipe the counter since it's not comfortable working if there are a lot of things going on, I didn't notice the puddle that I have created, with a wrong twist of my feet I accidentally slide my life into it. Expecting an abrupt landing of my bum on the floor I close my eyes to prepare myself as I look for something to hold on to, getting the bowl with me as I land.

But it didn't happen, all I hear is the sound of the utensils that fell into the floor and the feeling of a mixture of cold and warm arms holding my back as it catch me.

"I got you, sweets."

I open my eyes and look at the face on my side, I saw his grinning smile slowly creeping its way to his lips.

"Didn't know that Tony will be right when he says I need to keep my eyes on you, look at that honey; you've made a mess."

Telling me without breaking eye contact, "Just want to eat something"

"Your shadows didn't tell you that you have a puddle behind you?" I stand up straight as he helps me steady myself. Before I even move he grab a few towels and clean my hands off, patted my head, and get the bowls and utensils that have fallen.

"They've gone haywire, think the day about to come." I turn to the closet to get the broom and the mop to clean the mess I made. Bucky took it from me, "Sit right there, let me help you before we do what your doing, sweets."

I'm still standing, confuse why he start to clean up, arrange the things I'll need to make banana bread,d and how he managed to go right here in the moment where I embarrassingly did something un-comprehensively stupid. I'm still observing him when our eyes met again and he look straight into me, playfully giving me his scolding eyes for not adhering to what he said to sit as he clean up.

"Thank you, Buck" I whisper under my breath as I watch him stack the washed tools on the countertop and get the remaining ingredients.

"It's nothing sweets, so what's our agenda for today?"

"Let's make some Banana Bread and Choco drink, you hungry Buckaroo?" I round to the counter setting the bowl in front of me as I take the dry ingredients in front of me.

"Starving to death" he gave me a playful push as he chuckle a little bit. "I assigned you to mix wet ingredients right here, O' Sir Buckbee"

"As you wish, sweetie" He looks into my eyes before he begins.

You want headphones or a nice stereo speaker for this. West coast IDM?

Both this piece and last, I've found myself really enjoying playing with the stereo field using Jumble Henge and Vice Virga - which is nice, because that was my intended pairing so many months ago when I picked them out!

Quite a few voices at play here. The background glitches are Banshee Reach, going through Ikarie tracking the same pitch, then Data Bender for saturation and glitches (as always!). The plucky lead is Ts-L's wavefold out through Sinc Bucina, then Melotus Versio. The panning is done first by rhythmically sending the sequence into 4 different parts of the field. Partway through the song, I bring in a copy of this lead bitcrushed by Noise Tools. Varying the sample rate and slew amount creates an almost filter-like effect. This clone chases the original through the stereo field, 2 steps behind, taking advantage of Vice Virga's ability to do 4:4 switching.

The kick is on a steady clock, and the rest of the percussion from Taiko/Daiko comes from Zularic Repetitor, which is itself manually taken through a number of patterns to add variety. Next patch, I really want to give 4 Bricks Rook one more honest go, but I don't know if it's for me since I'm just not that good of a finger drummer. I don't know if Zularic Repetitor is the ideal rhythm generator - I might want something more consciously playable like Knight's Gallop or with a higher creative ceiling like Leibniz - but I think it's better suited for my workflow.

Other sequencing comes from Bloom, Pam's, and Marbles - but it's impossible to keep track of what's what. By my next post I should have quite a few new modules, as well as many more patch cables, so it should be a different one. Very excited for the mail the next couple of days!

MY 9/26 SJM LIVE Notes

***This is not a full summary of the live. Only some notes I took that I thought were the most interesting to me that I wanted to share. Everything is broken down based on the series mentioned and not in chronological order.

ACOTAR:

While she was working on the book she’s writing right now, she spent a whole day writing a scene and thought it was dumb. She didn’t believe it was even good enough for bonus scene material

Now that CC 3 is done, what are you working on now? SJM is working on drafting the next ACOTAR novel. She’s become so obsessed with writing this book that she’s thinking about the book nonstop. She’s not sure when the draft will be completed

CC:

Hunt’s parentage and origins: Readers will learn more about Hunt in the next book. SJM makes no promises for his well being

The Autumn king and possible connection to the Autumn Court– SJM knew who Bryce’s biological father was, but in the process of writing and editing, he became one of her favorite characters to write because he’s so horrible and is capable of doing the right thing but doesn’t. SJM thinks it’s fun to put opposing characters like Bryce and Ruhn with the Autumn King. She didn't say anything about the Autumn Court

How much of Bryce's powers has she accessed? SJM said you will see in next book

We know magic is weaker in the modern world, does a mating bond mean the same thing in CC as in the ACOTAR books? SJM chose not to answer

Is Hunt really Bryce’s mate? SJM said yes they are mates and when she was creating the series she knew how ToG and ACOTAR went with their similar romance tropes. She wanted to do a doozy and make the guy in the beginning be the guy in the end for CC

ACOTAR/CC

Can we expect to see additional POVs from ACOTAR characters in HOFAS? She wouldn't say, but said you would see the ACOTAR world for sure and it will pick up after that final scene in HOSAB

SJM was asked if she still stood by her comment that people did not need to read ACOTAR to start CC. She did not stand by that statement. She said you should read ACOTAR, but for readers who haven’t yet, she hopes they will get to the end of HOSAB and read it

ACOTAR/ToG/CC

Has SJM known all along about the idea of the worlds crossing? Was it intentional all those years ago? SJM claimed she is not a genius. She’s known for a while that the world overlapped even before working on KoA. CC was already a story in her mind so when she wrote the scene with Alien, she knew she wanted her to go through the ACOTAR world and thought it would be cool if she went through the CC world as well. For the most part, CC was a fun side project SJM wasn’t taking super seriously at the time when writing ToG. When she was actually really working on CC, she began daydreaming about the idea of the worlds being connected. Out of the blue, everything clicked in terms of the worlds being truly connected based on what she had already written. That’s when she really started planting seeds for the worlds overlapping in the first CC novel

Other information I thought was fun or interesting not directly related to any of the series:

Taron calls SJM: Sarah J Mask. Taron is obsessed with TS and SJM said she is too. She's always loved TS, but now that Taron is obsessed with her, they’ve only listened to her music in the car. In the eyes of her son the only creative genius in the world is TS

SJM confirmed she doesn’t use social media/lurk on the internet. Friends will text her theories from fans, but that’s all she will see

She used to only edit physical copies of her manuscript and she remembers having tear stains on the manuscripts from crying. She loved seeing the tearmarkers showing just how much she loved the characters as she was rereading what she had written

Do you consider yourself picky when it comes to Undertale fanworks?

So picky. xD; Characterization is a big make it or break it thing for me on top of generally not being into a lot of things that are more popular in the fandom- e.g. your Sans AUs, most outcode stuff (though I do like the ALIVE comic), any geno-focused stuff is a hard sell for me, as well as most save Asriel fancontent (though I do respect Dreemurr Reborn, enjoy Ask Fallen Royalty, and mostly enjoy Growth Spurt, Alphys' characterization notwithstanding).

I'm not saying any of this to bash, mind you, but I have very particular tastes and the kinds of fanworks I enjoy best are ones with strong characterization that explore more than just the skelebros, Gaster, or Asriel, that are still at least somewhat grounded in UT's world/setting (e.g. not big on AUs that might as well be fully original IPs), and idk... Some of what I like is hard to put into words?

But the kinda stuff I LIKE is TS Underswap, Scramble Saga, Ask Fallen Royalty, Name the Fallen, Rupturedtale, Undertoad (the canon), etc. Stuff that feels true to the spirit of Undertale but still has its own creative identity or concepts.

I'm going to try to word this correctly, because I'd like your take and I don't want my point to be misconstrued. The tldr is: I'm kinda bummed 1989 TV is such a commercial success. Here's the long of it. 1989 was my favorite album for a long long time and I was of course, excited to check out the vault. But I feel like these numbers are based on hype, not on product. Which is... fine, commercially speaking. Go girl, make those dollars. But... the result is a receipe. What perfomed the best for a long time is a record that was heavily branded by a stunt with a boy(band). What has now performed the best was a re record dropped in the middle of a tour that was completely overshadowed by the boybranding again. I feel like the rush was a mix of weird Haylor gossip thirst, football dude easter egg hunt, return of girlsquad branding... I admit, it stings that 1989 TV didn't even get a promo interview, a music video, or anything. (No, but we didn't forget the merch drops, tho!!) And it makes me sad, because... folklore, man. That had ZERO hype. Bam. There. And we ate that shit up. We loved THE MUSIC. I want the wild ride to be the music. And 2023 feels like Taylor has fully retreated inside the Taylor Swift TM persona and we're buying the TS Brand, not Taylor's music. What I was hoping for was: more 1989 vibes on vault songs, more "directed by Taylor Swift" creative expressions. What I got was: Ken and Barbie on tour. I'm sorry this is kinda rambly. I know anon asks don't take into account line breaks so this will be even more confusing. But. Yeah. I'm just a bit bummed out and I was wondering if anyone else was a bit disapointed, too? I mean. I genuinely don't know. Do people enjoy the soap opera and I'm the only one who's only turning up to check out the shoes Taylor wore in candids and for her artistic expression? Maybe I'm the weirdo. The market certainly seems to say I'm not in the majority.

I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way, and I can absolutely relate! It can be really difficult to separate the stunts from the music on a mental and emotional level. It’s something I still struggle with occasionally, and when the music is something so personal to you, of course you can feel protective or even disappointed when the PR goes off the rails. That is completely valid!

It saddens me that any fan would feel the shine of Taylor’s actual work has been dulled by the PR schemes.

I, too, am surprised that we haven’t seen any music video for 1989 TV yet, but I’m also not completely convinced that the book has been closed on that front. Let’s wait together in hopeful anticipation 🤞

I don’t blame you at all for how you are feeling, but I think in times like these, the most helpful thing for me is to draw that mental boundary—whether it’s a boundary between the music and the PR, or myself and the PR. Sometimes, I just don’t check the news, or I scroll away quickly if I happen to see something. These stunts are a lot, so when I feel myself becoming overwhelmed, I really try to shut down my mournful thoughts with a “NOPE! That’s not good for me right now” and then scroll away, or shut my phone off, or turn on Taylor’s actual music instead.

I am in love with 1989 TV. I’ve had it on repeat since it dropped, and hearing the vault tracks especially makes me so happy. I feel like there’s a real story there—things we didn’t get to see when the album originally came out. I have to imagine that even now, there’s so much happening behind the scenes that we can’t know. I’m just grateful for the chance to peek a little farther behind the curtain for a period of time that was very special for the T Swift community.

Lastly, regardless of the PR stunts, this drop has been huge for Taylor. Perhaps we’ll never know for sure whether that’s because people have come flocking for her music itself or they’ve grown curious due to the over the top PR, but I have a feeling that Taylor doesn’t care much either way. I think she’s at peace with the way she gets her attention, because at the end of the day, people ARE listening to her music. If they saw her at a football game cheering on some meathead and got curious enough to check out 1989 TV, what they will discover is a woman with great intelligence, a depth of emotion, and an insane amount of talent. That is just to say, it will always be her music and talent that shines in the end.

I’m reminded of YOYOK, where Taylor sings I looked around in a blood-soaked gown and I saw something they can’t take away.

No amount of stunts or bad PR (or good PR!) will change her undeniable talent. Even better that 1989 is truly Taylor’s now. I just find it comforting that regardless of how people find Taylor or why they first buy her music, they will get to enjoy it for the beautiful work of art that it always is.

here’s my ts take:

i think debut is fine, great for something written at 14-15 and great for country radio at the time. fearless is great, it’s a phenomenal second album, but in the face of the rest of her discography it’s pretty neutral. speak now is weaker than fearless but the songs that hit HIT for real like dear john and last kiss are some of her best songs but there’s some major weak points on that album. red is a perfect transition from country -> pop and i don’t think it could have been better for the time, it is a perfect album for 2012 and i think it absolutely holds up (red tv does not), 1989 is a perfect pop album, the deluxe tracks are amazing too, although i think clean should have been her track 5 i’ll accept that it’s not and move on. reputation i love personally but i realize that it is not “good” or “very original” on her part. lover sucks, it’s worse than the best songs on debut, though dbatc and cruel summer are great (i actually have a theory that cruel summer only exists because she wanted to name it after the kanye comp. album...which is just objectively probably true because she’s obsessed with him still...as seen in the lyrics from peace where she capitalizes “robbers to the east, clowns to the West”) anyway. folklore was pretty great with the exception of a few very corny lyrics and a really shitty bonus song on the deluxe edition, the lakes is stupid and cringe for talking about getting canceled on the internet. generally all her music where she talks about “receipts” and “drama” is stupid and annoying. evermore was basically pointless. the best songs on evermore would have fit on a deluxe version of folklore and she didn’t need to make a full album for them most could be scrapped and i wouldn’t miss them. don’t even get me started on how much i hate taylor’s versions of almost everything plus i think almost all the vault tracks are just...trash. i bet you think about me and better man are the only vault tracks that i would ever consider good enough to make it onto the main album. we do not need all this content, at this point it’s just quantity over quality. where she used to make a concise album (red/1989 especially) she now just puts out as much shit as she can think of (even saying in an insta caption that she wants to share her creative process more or some bs like that) and then midnights comes along, just the epitome of everything wrong with taylor swift at the moment. boring, bland, nothing. terrible.

Gonna be critiquing a bit one piece, but don't mind it,

it's very long but it's light minded, it bother me, sure, but it's not like it gonna make me drop or whatever, it just bother me and i have thought about it as to why.

It's mostly long cause i lose myself in my point and end up repeating a lot

THERE IS SPOILERS FOR UP TO WANO

Tldr : it's basically to relation/familly and the theme of freedom

The thing that, according to me, may make pre-time skip more special than post ts,

Is the people making the group.

Pre-timeskip it's honestly just a bunch of random people, sure, luffy is Hero Of The Marine Garp's grandson and usopp is yassop's son

But usopp also is just anyone, he's known to also be who "we would all be" if we were in op, no special power, no amazing and incredible talent that one in a million would have, he's a creative boy who trained his skills because he had a dream and his father was his idol

Other than that, nami is a random kid, sanji was a random kid, cook who was a pirate adopted child , chopper is a reindeer who got excluded for difformity*2, robin sure, she's a bit special but like anyone that would have survived in her stead in ohara, franky is a amazing carpenter's and mermaid adopted child

None of them got really very special connection and family other than luffy and usopp, and maybe robin, brook already had multiple connection to Roger with laboon and straight up having met him

The' post time skip arrive,

Sanji is a king's son and a genetically modified human, alright, fine,

Franky knew roger and all and was straight up invited on the crew, amazing, fun, alright

Zoro is ryuma's descendant ("god of swords") ??? (Not even revealed in story but sbs plz 💀)

Already, the whole "strawhat heads" are full of big name who got strenght in their blood and high name, he's not a big name in the crew, but i remind again usopp is "emperor's (shanks) official sniper" son's

And it's not even limited to in-crew,

O-tama, which other than momo was a big attachement for Luffy to wano (and for his brother too) turns out to be a kurozumi, (half crew) vivi who's already a princess of the people who were there when the wg was founded turns out to be a D.

It honestly makes me afraid for character such as franky /and especially nami/ because "we don't know who their parents are" (and i refuse to think it's not tom and bell-mere. Whoever anyone else are their genitors it don't matter, they are not relevent to them)

The whole first half of one piece was all about liberty, building your own life, "following wills" instead of having a destiny, the whole bond is not blood,

(and it still follow post-ts for a bit with doffy and cora having the exact same origins but having two entirely different life and way of seeing and doing things, and cora and law considering each other as brothers, when corazon doesn't consider doffy his brother but doffy hold very long onto him being his brother and law being his familly still, family is a choice)

Then the second half- just- put everyone in a place that all make them seems it's fated, it's in their blood,

Where does the freedom appear in being the best swordmaster when your grandpa was "the god of swordmaster", the best sniper when your father is also the best sniper, etc etc

I don't know if that's the case, i hope not, but it looks to me that oda did it for sanji, then saw how many fans liked their favorite character having more to their title please their fan, and just, kept going

I'd argue being a random guy and being super high level is more impressive

Anyway, it's fanservice.

I have nothing against character having high relations and thing under their name right from the beggining (especially if that ties with what they're doing/why they join) (vivi princess, robin, Franky w pluto, yams being kaido (emperor) son, brook is albeit a bit unnecessary but logic nonetheless)

But giving them when it does nothing but make them less "special" because they were in fact Special From Somebody Else, is shitty to do in excessiveness, especially when it bring nothing (why does zoro being ryuma descendant is important ??? Especially since that undervalue ryuma giving him shusui ! It could have been a bit better if like, someone saw zoro's face, recognized the damyo who "was known as ryuma's descendant" (even if none of that is said/shown) traits in him and decided to let him keep the shusui it would have been still disappointing but at least it would have built something ! )

Again, the possibility of him going "oh yeah ! Nami has celestian blood that's why she's so good at detecting climate changes and atmosphere in general ! It's also why she can hit luffy (as we were shown innate haki there) !" And then, idk, turning out to be birkan (originaly moon people, same as ener) and in fact it wasn't pirate it was the governement who faked an attack to get rid of her family and bell-mere suspected that a bit and she had in fact illegally run away from the marine and that's also why she lived far from the village and didn't get marine-retirement money and was so poor) is possible.

And in fact it's also possible he doesn't even include it properly in the story but just drop the whole lore in a data book, just like he could bring back ener to give a reason for it.

And all that "family lore bring so much" feel so much, muuuuch saltier considering his answer in an sbs of someone asking why nearly all the mother are killed or unknown being "mother are the antonym of adventure"

Anyway, i feel like oda forgot a lot about freedom as he advanced in one piece

#you can have many character who are High Title #but you gotta stay consistent with your theme #it's logic that as you advance further in the story the less 'casual people' join and more 'high name' do #(because this one story include reputation in it's advancement) for exemple here. carrot could have joined (not high name; even if now she's #queen it doesn't change anything) yamato and momo are highname (though likely no way yam would have joined) and in the same way as momo #kinemon could have joined (saying those three because they were all in the crew for like. 2 arcs (punk hazard. dressrosa. zo. wci. wano)#pedro could have been said too. but i feel like he would have been too similar to jimbe as to his dynamic #one piece #one piece talk #zoro #ryuma #wano #sanji #nami #franky #nico robin #nico olivia #to keep going a bit. the story already place a lot on people ending up being “trouble for the gov” being desendent of “D”#again. something like 'fated' being in their blood etc #even for asl. i'm looking with a death stare for oda to keep sabo like he is. even if there's no hint of him going to pull anything #from anywhere. it seems sure and saved that he's an “anyone could have been” kid

I started making a game for @efangamez's May Mayhem Jam, but I wasn't able to finish it for reasons (getting distracted by other shiny projects). I figure I can make a post about some of the ideas I liked in it - I probably won't stop working on the game, but I'll probably be heavily restructuring things when I start again.

Anyway here's a shitty logo that I can't explain why I like as much as I do (image ID under the cut):

The setting is called Cereba (colloquially known as Rat City), and based on the vibe Jet Set Radio and similar media, with a slight cyberpunk twist. The player characters are Junkrats, a term for anti-establishment artists in Cereba that use recycled materials to make their art. If this sounds incongruous with the game I'm about to talk about, it's because I made the city for an earlier project and decided on a whim to revive it for the game idea I had.

One of my favorite ideas I had was for the layout; I wanted to explain the rules through a cut-and-paste-style collage of words and letters from other RPGs. This would've actually worked great for my original Junkrats project, which was already essentially a mash-up of Savage Worlds, Blades in the Dark, and Slayers (there's a reason I'm describing it in the past tense) - but this new one ended up having more original mechanics than intended. And also desperately searching for a single word in all the PDFs I own wasn't super creatively fulfilling. Also I never bother to look at copyright and I never will.

The mechanical idea I had was to make a Lumen game about the aesthetic of revolution (fighting cops, burning down corpo buildings, etc), and just kinda mix the power fantasy of games like Nova with the power fantasy of getting revenge against a violent system. I figure that Jet Set Radio is already kind of a moodboard of rebellion, so Rat City could fit that theme.

Oh my god anyway. The mechanics. Right. I decided to make the game classless, because I wanted to stay true to the theme of personal expression in my other Junkrats projects. So, each character has a Signature Item, 3 extra items, and two body mods. Items determine the actions you can take during a fight, and each one has its own list of mods that can be added during downtime by spending Scrap (a new possible resource drop alongside Health and Fuel). Body Mods essentially function as passive buffs, applying to anything defined in their descriptions, rather than being set to specific items. There's a lot of ableist baggage in cyberpunk body modification, which I'm not at all qualified to really dig into, so I won't really define much of it beyond that, until I can feel comfortable either solidifying or removing it.

During downtime, you can swap out or add mods based on (undetermined) Scrap prices. You can also turn an item into an (undetermined) amount of Scrap, and add that item's ability or action to your Signature Item. This was honestly the mechanic I like the most, since it takes the simple build-making process of Nova and gives it the personal expression theme and junker vibe I've been trying nail down ever since creating Rat City (so like. a few months.); I might come back to this in a Lumen game without combat and really try to focus on the ramshackle inventions aesthetic.

Scrap can also be used during combat for limited mods, usually the limit being how long the effect will last. This is basically an attempt to bring the idea of hammering nails into your baseball bat or pouring gas onto a weapon and lighting it on fire in the middle of a fight, reinforcing the scrappy and creative fighting style all junkrats have to learn.

I can't find anything on Crust beyond a reddit post linking to a deleted itch.io page, but maybe its still out there somewhere.

💀 What’s your favourite sims death? Well, since my Sims usually pass away peacefully from old age , I don't have a favorite Sim death. However, I do appreciate the diverse range of dramatic and unexpected deaths that can occur in TS, as it adds an element of surprise and unpredictability to the game. Whether it's a Sim getting electrocuted, eaten by a cowplant, or even burned to death while cooking, these events certainly add some excitement to the gameplay.

💅 Alpha CC or Maxis Match? I'm a huge fan of Maxis Match custom content. I find that it seamlessly integrates with the base game and maintains the unique charm and style that drew me to TS in the first place.

💦 Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? No, I like to see their body change over time. I find it even more realistic, especially if they gained weight because of a pregnancy.

🛋️ Do you use move objects? All the time.

💻 Favorite mod? I don’t use mods, I’m too lazy to keep everything up to date.

🛍️ First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? The very first pack I got was Livin’ Large, for TS1. For TS4, it was Get to Work.

🙊 Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? LIVing is my choice :D

❤️ Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? Definitely Twennie from my Not So Berry challenge. She is the worts and best at the same time.

🪞Have you made a simself? I made my family multiple times through the years (and different versions of TS deheh). It’s always fun, but I usually don’t play with those households.

🧠 What sim traits do you give yourself? Creative, Bookworm and Hot-Headed :)

🧑‍🦳 Which is your favorite EA hair color? Red! Favorite EA hair? Everything medium lenght wavy hair

🌱 Favorite life stage? Teenager and Young Adult, because I usually put a lot of effort during those stages to complete careers and challenges. So a looooot usually happens.

🏠 Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? I must admit the ratio between building and gameplay is 80/20 for me. I need to stop building new houses for my challenges, my poor sims are constantly moving.

🎨 Are you a CC creator? I usually do recolors, so I would not consider myself a CC creator.

👴How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? Nowadays I manly play challenges, which I came to know through Tumblr something like 6 years ago. Before that, I used to create very regular households and just play them through the generations, but without any official goal to follow.
