So, a building project I want to take up once the ABC Build Challenge is over is recreating lots from all of the numerous, lovely places I stopped at during my trip! This is mostly me spit-balling, but also for some of these I’m not sold on just WHICH lot to do since ideally I won’t be doing more than two per area.
Bisbee, Arizona - I have family in the area, it’s a super cool old mining town, lots of old buildings. The copper roof is HERE and VIBIN. We only went to the Bisbee Breakfast Club but understandably I’ve been there a lot. It’s super eclectic, probably the most liberal former mining town I have ever encountered, and just picking one place is a struggle.
Ideas For Bisbee: -Lavendar Pit Mine (chance to play with terrain tools, I’ve never built a mine like this!) -Muheim Heritage House Museum (Weird Roofing but I’m into it) -Old Brewery Building (I am a whore for red brick) -Bisbee Mining & Historical Museum
El Paso, Texas - Really only stopped here on the way to other things, which is a shame because we drove around and they have a lot of cool buildings! We did visit the amazing Bowie Bakery. I have no idea what pastries I got only that they were delicious. Because I’m sticking to just things I saw, probably going modern bakery on this one.
San Antonio, Texas - We stayed the the Gibbs Hotel which is RIGHT next to the Alamo. Like. I never realized it’s in the center of town and everything is built up around it. I’m so used to historical places being ignored out in the boonies so it was refreshing. I also had 0 idea that San Antonio had so many historical buildings!?!? None of you even told me. I resorted to a ghost tour to find the oldest and coolest ones, including the old jail which is - I kid you not - now a Holiday Inn. I want to stay there next time. (THEY LEFT THE BARS ON THE FRONT WINDOWS AND EVERYTHING OKAY. IT IS VERY MUCH PART OF MY NICHE.)
Ideas for San Antonio: -The Alamo. Probably an older version but idk. -Gibbs Hotel -Menger Hotel -Holiday Inn Jail -Riverwalk (would be a modern build, but it’s an interesting concept and I’m curious if I could even build it in TS2. Large possibility of me having a mental breakdown in the attempt.)
Houston, Texas - Just stopped here for a bit of a rest and because my partner is very much into space. Visited the Houston Funeral Museum and the space center there which I could google the name of but I’m not gonna because I’m not even going to pretend I’ll build it. I think I’ll build something funeral-inspired, not the museum itself but something. Maybe a modern funeral home but Make It Eco Or Ask A Mortician Will Be Disappointed In Me.
St Martinville, Louisiana - SO GREEN. AND HUMID. I’m never complaining about people talking about “dry heat” ever, ever again. We just stayed over night at an AirBNB which was an old converted church and had some delicious shrimp/grits from a farm to table place, so I plan on building the AirBNB. New Orleans, Louisiana - A brief visit, mostly because I got really overstimulated despite it being a “slow” day (Wednesday when most stuff is closed) but it’s very pretty there. If only there were no people, ha.
Ideas for New Orleans: -French Quarter Bookstore, Taxidermy Witchy Shop, or Coffee Place that’s been there forever -Garden District (maybe two of these)
Mobile, Alabama - Stayed the night in the Malaga Inn so didn’t stay here long but it was interesting. More pride flags than expected, but a lot of destroyed buildings too. We started seeing that in LA - particularly New Orleans - and it was eye opening to realize how much property has just been left to fall apart. Where I live every square inch is a commodity and you rarely see abandoned buildings unless there’s something more serious going on or a permit problem. Anyway, I plan on building the Malaga Inn.
Foley, Alabama - Just a stop, but oh my goodness, SO CUTE. And more nerdy than anticipated. There was a comic shop, arcade, and a bookshop that looked well visited all on main street. We visited the Holmes Medical Museum and the soda fountain, both of which I want to build though how I’m going to set up a toy train alongside the walls is anybody’s guess.
Lynn Haven, Florida - Visited friends here, didn’t really see much since the point of the visit was meeting people and not seeing things. Thinking very strongly of making their dog though.
Beaufort, South Carolina - Another “just a stop” place we stayed the night at but outside of town there was an abandoned brick church (Old Sheldon Church Ruins) that was super duper cool so I’m going to build that even though I got bitten by so many bugs there.
Wilmington, North Carolina - Just stopped here, but visited the Museum of the Bizarre where I helped assist a sword swallower and played Pachinko at the only active Pachinko Parlor in the US. I’d LOVE to build a Pachinko Parlor but I’ll have to see what CC there is for it. (Hopefully an Umbrella Academy stan comes through for me since that was an element in the most recent season.)
Atlantic Beach, North Carolina - the destination! Mostly! We stayed here for a week with family which was super fun. I love how colorful the beach houses there are, and all the stilt homes! I was also highly amused by the elevator in our rental because it was basically a broom closet. I’ll probably allow myself a few more lots than otherwise for this location.
Ideas for Atlantic Beach: -Beach House Trio -Maritime Museum (they’ve got lots of stuff from Queen Anne’s Revenge since that’s where it’s located near) -Blackbeard Sim (I mean, I almost have to, right?) -Ocean Lot with shipwrecks? (NC has the most shipwrecks out of any US state) -Fort Macon -Mini Golf Lot -Marsh-y Hiking Trail -Aquarium
Annapolis, Maryland - Holy red brick buildings batman!!! I was LIVING. Even the streets were red brick. This was just an evening stop but we stayed at the 250 year old Maryland Inn which has a heap of history to it. I plan on building the Maryland Inn.
Washington D.C., Virginia - Stopped at the Natural History Museum which was amazing. Didn’t visit the Hope Diamond because my legs said We Are Done but otherwise got to see all the things. I do plan to eventually do a week-long Smithsonian visit someday, but this day was about taxidermy.
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Spent a few days here with more family and also explored some locations relevant to my ancestry which was exciting! I got to see my Great-Great Grandfather’s house, the place where me Great Grandfather was actually born and is still standing. I also got to see some locations dating back to the revolutionary war. I plan on building the house for sure, and probably the fort and house I visited in Cross Creek. Possibly will build the oldest crematorium in the US which we happened to stop at.
San Diego, California - second destination! On my side of the family, we go here pretty much every summer. This year I didn’t do too much because amid all of this traveling I still am having mega sinus issues and since we weren’t spending several hours a day driving (where I pretty much slept the whole time) I mostly just vegged out and ate food. I think I’m going to build a lot inspired by the numerous condo complexes on the beach, but I might do a pier/ocean/lifeguard stand situation. I’ll think about it more as this video approaches.

Douglasville 1.1 - Arizona neighborhood with pulp storyline for The Sims 2!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Douglasville is a TS2 almost-cc-free neighborhood based on the Spanish videogame Runaway: A Road Adventure.
This neighborhood is set in the fictional region of the Simrizona Desert and it features: beautiful canyon landscapes, a colorful bunch of characters with unique stories and personalities, a treasure hunt, lots inspired by Mexican and Western false front architecture!
Info and download under the cut
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Douglasville allows players to let their creativity loose as they decide the paths of the strange characters who inhabit this land: you will have to make choices, pick a side and let the other sink in this greedy treasure hunt who will probably end up in a few casualties. This neighborhood can be a great start for a Build a City Challenge with a few adjustments, or you can keep Douglasville as it is: a small, dilapidated ghost town for the lonely wolves. Speaking of wolves, be careful because you will find a pack of mexican wolves hunting around the area! The main features of Douglasville are:
◉ A desertic neighborhood decorated with the amazingly beautiful Canyon Pack by Kridershot. Enjoy these ARIZONA-INSPIRED LANDSCAPES, if you can fight the heat and the hungry wolves!
◉ 7 HOUSEHOLDS + 2 SIMS IN THE BIN, all characterized by unique backgrounds and, sometimes, featuring storytelling props in their inventories to help you get involved with their stories.
◉ A TREASURE HUNT! The terrible thugs Gustav and Feodor are searching for the Hopi treasure and they have reason to believe Gina Timmins knows something about it. Who will get their greedy hands on the treasure first?
◉ Lots were built in MEXICAN AND WESTERN-FALSE-FRONT STYLES to correctly convey the atmosphere of the United States' South West area. The hood features ONE STARTER HOME to help you include your own sims in the run for the treasure!
Before downloading, I need to give you some warnings:
⚠ This neighborhood includes references to an existing indigenous tribe from North America: the Hopi Tribe. This is directly taken from the videogame Runaway and it's something I decided to keep. I am not Hopi, so my knowledge is limited, and I did what I could with no custom content. It's important for me to specify that I don't want this neighborhood to disrespect native American tribes in any way.
⚠ There are three drag queens living in Douglasville. To keep custom content to a minimum, I decided to create them as women and change their gender behaviour through SimPE (they have male voices, will pee standing and sexually reproduce as men). If you want to be more realistic, you can change their gender to male and dress them up with custom clothes.
⚠ You need a CAMERA MOD. The neighborhood is big and there are lots on the borders of the map, so without a camera mod you would not be able to play the hood as intended.
Below you will find two download links:
“DGVL” is the neighborhood folder and it must be extracted in Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Neighborhoods.
“Douglasville_CC” is the folder containing a small amount of CC required for the neighborhood to appear as intended. It must be extracted in Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads. Everything has been sorted in labelled folders to help you organize your cc.
DOUGLASVILLE 1.1: CLICK!
DOUGLASVILLE CC FOLDER: CLICK!
(Don't get scared by the CC Folder size: it's mainly due to the skyline, skydome and canyon pack. Remember to delete custom content that you already have!)
List of Custom Content:
Moocha's Build-A-Bus Kit, Slig's Graffiti, PrincessBliss' native american rug recolors, C&K's oil lamps, TonyVeis' 4t2 Strangerville plane, TNWS's 3t2 rocking chair, chest and curtains from TS2 Store, MommaLisa outfits by MoniLisa, keoni and Slig, historical clothes by Skellington, YanderePlum and SerenityFall, Saturn's hair by Hazelpuff, neighborhood deco by Kridershot and probably leoz94 (I'm not sure!), desert skyline by greatcheesecakepersona, skydome by Lowedeus.
Additional Credits:
The storytelling picture where Gina is running from Gustav and Feodor is set in Katatty's Downtown! Also, thanks to every single person who commented, reblogged, liked and followed this project over these weeks! I am extremely eager to see what you all do with this neighborhood, so feel free to provide feedback or tag me if you share gameplay pictures :) Hugs from Italy!

Seasons Tags
i was tagged by @duskysimmer thank you bb! ♡
1. which season are you going to play with first?
probably autumn so I can transition into winter after!
2. from what you’ve seen in the trailer, what are you most excited about?
oh gosh...so much tbh! more gardening features like flower arrangements, the swing set and kiddie pool, creating my own holidays and playing existing ones and definitely the changes in weather like blizzards!
3. what’s your favorite season irl?
autumn and winter ♡
4. what’s your favorite flower/plant?
I love so many flowers (or rather just...all of em) so its hard to choose >< I do especially love any sort of small ground cover flower or big bushy ones like hydrangea! As for plants I love any sort of succulent, ferns, more ground cover and big ol pine trees
5. are you going to create a new sim/family or are you going to keep your current household?
def going to keep both my current saves, I can’t wait to experience seasons in generation 2 of my legacy because I can experience every season with all age groups!
6. what would you like to see in this new add-on that we haven’t seen yet?
ugh, spiral stairs PLEASE or even just like.. different stairs with wide bottoms/tops, the ability to split them ect ofc theres more I’d love to see but it wouldnt be in this pack
7. how do you feel about not having a new neighborhood?
I’m actually really glad they decided not to focus on a new world, chances are if they did only that world would have seasons lol I think they did a great thing by focusing on what they already have since they havent done that yet and the packs we’ve gotten werent.. all that great
8. snow, rain, sun or wind?
SNEW ❄️
9. favorite refreshing drink in summer?
iced tea/snapple peach tea though I drink it throughout the year
10. favorite hot drink in winter?
peppermint mocha!
11. walk through the forest or by the beach?
forest def, though to be fair the forests near me are right next to the ocean so..
12. swimming pool or ocean?
pool, the ocean near me is too cold and others I’ve been to are too strong or just gross (and I mean like.. muddy bathwater gross)
13. where would you like to travel if you could leave right now for a week?
honestly I’m kinda on a kick of wanting to go to london so maybe there
13. how is the weather today?
surprisingly sunny with some fluffy white clouds, meaning if I so much as walk out the door without antihistamine in me my head will feel like a stuffed up watermelon
14. what new traits would you like to see in the new add-on?
gardening ones! loves/hates warm/cold weather, and just some more general ones tbh
15. do you like to play with supernatural creatures like vampires and aliens? and if so, would you like to have witches/fairies/elves?
typically the only supernaturals I ever liked to play with were aliens but ts4 isnt all that great with them, but I do love having a variety so I would definitely like to have at least witches, zombies and werewolves again
16. what is your favorite thing to do during winter?
go walking in the snow with my pups, taking pictures, sitting and watching snow fall through a window (I can do this for HOURS), cooking/baking, listening to christmas music and watching christmas movies!
17. …during spring?
staying indoors, though I do like going to a drive to see all the flowers blooming
18. …during summer?
never going outside LOL sometimes I like going into our backyard with the firepit on and roasting marshmallows but only if its still somewhat cool - if I get hit with the sun or heat I break out into a rash on my hands and that’s no fun 😒 (as you can imagine, driving through arizona was hell, I had to cover myself with a blanket in the car rip me)
19. …during autumn?
sorta the same things as winter tbh! taking pictures, cooking/baking, going on walks and drives to see the leaves changing
20. have you already pre-ordered seasons? and if you haven’t, are you going to pre-order it or wait until it comes out?
nuope, tbh this is the only pack I would love to buy if I could!! but for now I’m still using a crack (sorry but I’m not paying $500 that I don’t have right now for the rest of the packs I need when I’ve already spent thousands on the franchise, in the future I will)
21. in which neighborhood are you going to play first with seasons?
gen 2 might still be in san myshuno when it comes out, but I’d love to see windenburg and brindleton bay during the seasons!
22. do you listen to music while playing? and if so, what are your favorite songs to play to?
sometimes, its usually just my mix of ballads I always have on (dbsk, solo super junior, exo ect) or instrumental music I grew up with (ie sanctuary series by sam reid) but most times I just have youtube on in the background watching achievement hunter lets plays or watching most haunted
23. what’s your favorite thing to do in the sims? creating sims, building, etc?
before it was always creating sims and decorating, but now I have to say my favourite thing is actually playing the game (which is a shocker for me outside of ts2) I’ve actually gotten quite into having a retail store and tbh I want to have more
24. what’s your favorite kit/pack/add-on?
so far I’d have to say pets because of the obvious
25. and finally, what add-on/pack would you like to see next?
UNIVERSITY!! I would also like to have a pack for more various jobs like in ts3 ambitions, I never realized until yesterday how much I needed the ability to have a tattoo parlor or hair salon. I’d also like a more sciencey themed pack! With bots and more mad scientist type objects
I tag @simcophogi @thatonebrobo @miniculepxls @grimsimm @pollinationqueen @moodensim 💖

I got the Vampires pack!
In my TS2 game Fiona was a witch, but we don’t have witches in TS4. So I’ll let her be a vampire for now. Actually, personality-wise, she kind of is more of a “vampire” than a “witch”. It suits her.
The way I’ve always done supernaturals in my stories is more interpretive than literal. The only literal occult I do in my story is aliens, because that’s just part of their futuristic world in which aliens exist. So I’m not about to have witches flying on broomsticks (if we had them) and vampires turning into bats in my story. Although I may play around with that supernatural stuff as a game, and I may even post funny gameplay pictures here on Tumblr still. Just saying, in my story canon, there are no vampires, and Fiona is just a regular human girl with some exceptional “talents” and an inkling for draining the life-force out of people. But that’s because she’s an evil genius, not because she’s a vampire. ;)
She also lives in Arizona, so I’m going to need to find her some sunscreen or something, lol!
Man, I really love the way these vampires look though! Best sim vampires ever!

The Sims 4 Wishlist
A list of things I feel are more necessary for interesting gameplay than another Showtime EP.
Working cars and other modes of transportation like bikes, motorcycles, flying brooms, etc.
Different types of stairs - spiral, curved, l-shaped, t-shaped, and ladders.
Elevators that can be placed on any lot.
Platforms, similar to those in TS2, but with adjustable heights.
Witches.
Boarding schools.
A greater variety of worlds. As it stands, the vast majority of the worlds are based on American states (New Orleans, Arizona, New England, California). Most of these are also in hot climates. It’d be nice to at least see some more European-based worlds, to help create opportunities for more diverse stories and extend gameplay. There’s only so much time you can spend in Windenburg, so it gets boring when you want British, Irish, French, and Danish Sims. Personally, I’d settle just for a France-based world. It’s never been done outside of vacation worlds and I’d love to have my own Sim truly live my dream life lol.
Witches, please.
More musical instruments. There’s so many basic ones that have never been incorporated into a game. Organs are nice, but what about saxophones? Flutes, clarinets, trumpets? Cellos and drums? The ability to create a band would be super cool too.
More animals. Racoons, foxes, and bubalus’ are hilarious, but why do we not have birds and reptiles?
Sims that aren’t all attracted to the same fucking items, regardless of their traits. Why is my hot-headed Sim autonomously reading books instead of using the punching bag? Why is my genius bookworm playing video games and not reading or playing chess? Why is my music lover watching TV and not listening to the radio? I don’t want to have to babysit my Sims to make sure they’re in-character.
Related to the last point, an interests system similar to that of the Sims 2, but customizable without cheats. A series of things a Sim can like (art, nature, technology, politics etc) that changes the Sims wishes and autonomous actions.
Basically, I never want to be in a situation where a whole family of Sims with different and sometimes opposing traits all have exactly the same three wishes and spend time doing exactly the same things.
Community lots for Forgotten Hollow.
WITCHES! Ones that are as awesome as the vampires and new world that has a cool magic store like in TS3.

Mama Dorita's House. Mama Dorita is a medium and natural healer living in a pueblo outside of Douglasville. She is an old woman, and the big guy Oscar takes good care of her.
I have finished introducing the main lots of Douglasville. In the future you will meet the inhabitants and then the neighborhood will be available for download! :3

The campsite in the crater. This is where the odd Joshua is currently camped, trying in every possible way to contact what he claims to be an extraterrestrial species living on Planet Trantor.
(This is a roadless lot and I'm kinda thrilled :) I love the concept of lots being far from streets, I imagine sims having to hike to get to them! I really want to do more in the future)

Douglasville is almost ready for upload!
I'm super happy to present to you Douglasville's storytelling pictures! All characters are based on the Spanish videogame Runaway: A Road Adventure. If you like point-and-click adventure games, I strongly advise downloading and playing that game because it is a milestone of the genre!
I have completed everything except for the sims' memories. This project is about to see the light and I'm super excited! :)
(After uploading these pictures I realized there are grammar errors in the text and I'm immediately going to correct them lol)

Douglasville is taking shape!
In these pictures, you can see the ghost town of Douglasville, the drag queens' broken bus and, on top of the hill, the thugs' cabin and the helicoper hangar. There are still some lots that I have to build, like Mama Dorita's pueblo, but I've done most of them. There are not that many, because Douglasville is supposed to be abandoned and the gameplay I envision for this neighborhood is to play it as a Build a City Challenge over the skeleton of a dead village.
Let me know what you think :)

More pictures of the ghost town of Douglasville. In the last three pictures, you can see the rundown Bank where the businessman James Theodore Douglas died a century ago.

Douglasville is getting populated!
These are pictures of some of Douglasville's eccentric inhabitants: Hugo Weaving lookalikes with a shady vibe, drag queens lost in the desert, traditional herbal healers, nightclub workers who are escaping from the claws of mafia...
I'm super excited about this neighborhood: this is definitely NOT gonna be the typical suburban district with family dramas, Douglasville is a story about money greed, the dangers of the Simrizona desert, decadence and plenty of craziness. The characters are slowly getting implemented, and soon I will work on some storytelling pictures.
