I'm almost done revamping the toddler clothing catalog and especially the girl's department (I dont have as many complaints for the boy's side somehow? except maybe a lack of variety but most of the meshes look decent), so here is a batch of defaults!

MY WEDDING TRAUMA: A SURELY-SIMS x ICE-CREAMFORBREAKFAST COLLABORATION, CONVERTED TO THE SIMS 2 [download - 👰🏽🤵🏽]

are you tired of brides in white dresses and toddlers with perfect pink flower baskets? is cereal packet gameplay just not doing it for you anymore? maybe you'd like your weddings to put the 'strange' in strangetown? search no more, the ingredients for the strangest wedding in sim nation are finally here!

so, since i caught that one virus, i've been playing around a bit more with ts2 cc creation and finally had the time to work on converting a big set again. but then... what to convert? the answer came to me in the links section of a random lookbook... in a sort of fever dream. a set that captures the recent theme on my blog, families, and yet completely destroys it at the same time: my wedding trauma.

everything here is remarkably versatile. i mean, i know for a fact that people aren't just going to use that jumpsuit for a wedding, elvis needs more freedom than that! there are 9 cas items and 6 buy items for a total of 17 items in this set!

the original ts4 collaboration is complete perfection; it has just the sort of trashy, nonsensical vibes that the ts2 wedding department is sorely lacking. my conversion of this isn't perfect, i'm still learning how to do clothing and there are some minor issues mentioned below the cut, but overall i think that it came out pretty good and i hope it invokes some chaos in your game. 💥

PU Warm Dress (with pantalettes) - Regency Conversion Set pt. 1

This is a conversion and recolor of @simbury's Dotted Flowers dress, which was so cute that I decided to learn how to do 2t4 conversions. It's the first piece in a Regency-themed set (of indeterminate size) that I have planned for the end of 2023. I assume I'll be too busy for CC-making for a large part of 2024 (yay matriculation exams!), so you could consider this set an attempt to make up for that.

I've used the word regency a few times, but this dress is pretty timeless. Just like... 1800 to 1900. Kids' clothes are neat like that.

The very first swatch (the blue one below) is from the original ts2 dress, but the rest are my recolors.

Here's another not-so-secret secret. My GoS Founder's Day gift was originally going to be for toddlers AND babies. I'd forgotten how frustrating baby clothes are to make and wound up not having time to do both. I'll probably still convert at least a couple more of the meshes for BU. For today, my baby conversion of SP12OverallLong is ready to go.

I don't really like shoes on babies, so I converted the TS4BG toddler socks and resized and reshaped them for our tiniest TS2 sims.

They come in all 12 EAxis textures, 15 Standardheld patterns, and 25 Standardheld solids, with coordinated socks. All colors and patterns are set for BU Everyday. You need Chris Hatch's mod for these to work.

There's a little clipping with the older sim's hands sometimes, when they're holding the babies, but it's not too bad. There's also a weird angular part of the pantlegs that I couldn't fix. You can kinda see it in the preview.

EF48 Beanie 4t2 Conversion

We continue to interrupt your irregularly scheduled Nykteia CC nonsense with more toddler CC courtesy of the Sims 4 infant update. Swatch below the cut.

across is bin, up and down is family

Generally the same setup as before: neutrals are binned as black, cool tones as brown, pinks and purples as blonde, and warm colors are red.

In game your sims will keep the eyebrow color they were born with, but it'll switch between bins in bodyshop and CAS.

All of the hats have been edited to have pink inner ears because the original was just a lighter version of the beanie color, which I understood but didn't like. Otherwise I didn't have to add any additional swatches this time.

Scalp texture is 512x512. The beanie doesn't have a hat flag and is in all categories in case your little sims ears get cold or they do that thing toddlers do where the obsess over a particular item of clothing.

Here is a tutorial on how to change flags if you want anything different.

This one has a few more clipping issues with ears. TS4 can flatten ears when you put a hat on (I think) in a way we can't in TS2. But I tried.

Please let me know if there are any other issues!

Also I accidentally named the files initially as both "EF42" and "EF43" at seemingly random so something might still have the wrong name.

Get to know you: Sims Style

I was tagged by @pockethamster and @furbyq-sims so here we goooo.

What’s your favorite Sims death?

In general: the satellite, cuz of the piano replacement that I have. It is also one of the most efficient ways to cull townies.

Specific deaths that have happened to my sims: Tiara dying in a toddler potty. No death in my game has ever/will ever be funnier.

Alpha CC Semi-realism or Maxis Match?

Semi-realism. Maybe it's cuz I started playing when that was the common style, but maxis match just looks very ... flat to me? Very papery. I've seen it done in a really fun, cartoon-y style by some creators, but that seems to be the minority and most of it seems to hew very neutral/natural toned and I am not about that lol. Even IRL, I like to surround myself with bright, colorful stuff.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

Like, keep them thin? lmao no. I let their personality determine whether they exercise, but that has nothing to do with them being fat, as far as I'm concerned. I use a lot of fat bodyshapes because I'm fat myself and I like to have a lot of variety in my game. I don't have any system for deciding whether I use the maxis default body or a custom shape, I just go with what looks right to me.

Do you move objects?

Are there people who don't?

Favorite Mod?

Hm, either ACR v2 or Walk Through Blocks. I like my sims to be able to make as many autonomous decisions as possible, and navigate the spaces that I cram full of clutter.

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?

In the Sims 1 the first expansion I got was Hot Date. I played TS2 from release, so my first expansion was University.

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing?

Alive.

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

I mean, it has to be Mawreen, right? If only for the chaos that she's sown.

Have you made a simself?

Yeah a few throughout the years, and I haven't played them in ages. Mostly I just use them for silly little pics with @skulldilocks's selfsim.

Which is your favorite EA hair color?

One of the custom ones, I guess! I don't remember, I have all the EA hairs hidden lol.

Favorite EA hair?

I don't have one, really. Maybe some of the natural black hairstyles converted from TS4 but I couldn't name specific meshes.

Favorite life stage?

Adult! I made a custom aging mod so I can go through the other stages relatively quickly. The way my game is set up, they unlock all their traits and wants once they're an adult, and I like to see who they are as a fully realized person, so that's the most fun for me.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

Gameplay. I have a lot of fun making houses based on real floorplans that I find, but it's mostly just stage dressing for the little freaks that inhabit them.

Are you a CC creator?

Yeh.

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad?

I mean, @skulldilocks obvs. People don't approach me much so there's only a few ppl that I talk to regularly like @furbyq-sims and @lilithpleasant. I am not really the "squad" type.

Do you have any sims merch?

Do you have a YouTube for sims?

Nope! I would never stream gameplay, the way I play isn't interesting. Lots of pausing and carefully adjusting angles to take pictures, getting distracted by other stuff, random crashes, etc. And editing that footage into something watachable would take ages. My play style lends itself better to picture entries, so I use Dreamwidth.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

More colors, more aliens, more [[JAM FACTORY]] lore.

Who’s your favorite CC creator?

@skulldilocks no question! I love watching her create anything for any game or craft. She's so talented. It doesn't matter if she's making sims cc or custom houses for Skyrim or doll clothes or anything else, she's my biggest inspiration.

How long have you had Simblr?

2010, babeyyyy.

How do you edit your pictures?

I have a tutorial here. I need to update it because I use different actions now, but most of the actual information there is still accurate.

What expansion/gamepack is your favorite?

I want to say pets because I love cats so very much, but in terms of actual content, probablyyyy FreeTime? I like anything that makes sims more unique and the hobby system is a lot of fun!

If I met a genie who would fulfill my one single wish regarding video games, I would wish for The Sims 2 still living and updating. Because, and I cannot hold it in me any longer, The Sims 4 is the most soulless, the most boring, the most joyless, the most uninteresting sims game ever. The sims 4 doesn't even feel like a life simulator, it's a freaking building simulator at best. And no matter how many packs you buy or mods you install it's still so. unbelievably. boring. The Sims 2, with all its subjects limitations, has this difficult-to-describe atmosphere, this aesthetic, that no other sims game has. TS2 is a life simulator and it FEELS like it. TS2 life is unpredictable and wacky and sometimes has a bit of cynical humor, but its never ever boring. The life regime in TS2 is the most fun one, I could not care less about other aspects of the game. In TS2 life happens around you and to you. In TS4 you try to make "life" happen. TS2 is fun to play without any mods. In TS4 you have to install like 83965974 of them to make gameplay a little more exciting and it still doesn't help much. (Also romance in TS4 is just so bad it hurts, lol.) TS2 writing is witty, TS4 writing is like reading refrigerator instructions. TS2 is full of mysteries, TS2 doesn't reveal all its features and secrets, you have to play for a pretty long time to discover many of them and it still manages to surprise you with something every new replay. TS4 treats its players like toddlers, they spoon-fed you all the details and warn you about everything. Nothing is ever surprising or shocking in TS4, you must feel "safe" all the time. Speaking of safe, other sims games have burglars, the horrifying reaper music, fire that is really dangerous, your sims can die or be abducted by aliens and you cant always have 100% control over that. TS4?? - nothing of that. TS2 cutscenes and memories system?? TS4 could never, lol. TS4 is too easy even without any cheatcods, you want to change your outfit? - Just use a wardrobe. You don't have to buy new cloth. You want to change your sim's face features? - Sure, just use a mirror. You don't need putting any effort in getting Cosmetic Surgeon machine like in TS2 (and mind you, that machine doesn't change your original gene pool.) Cheating in TS2 is a REALLY big deal, and if your sim get caught doing it - oooooh man, they are in a huge trouble. After that your sim needs all the damn time trying to fix their previous relationship or you can just kick the cheating sim outta their house lol. In TS4 cheating is barely noticing by the sim's legal partner, no one cares and it barely has any consequences. In TS2 even random townies are fun to be friends with and pre-made families are interesting. In TS4...nah. No charisma at all. Empty of lore, empty of stories. I honestly can go on and on, but the point is clear already. I don't need one billion clothing, building and furniture choices, The Sims games were never about that. The Sims games are suppose to be a fun life simulator, that is the most important aspect of the franchise, the life!!! Not building houses, dammit! If I'd like building I'd play Minecraft or something like that.
