The American Girl Club (Historical Edition) – Sims 4

Inspired by the American Girls Virtual Museum, we have a mansion hangout for all the Historical American Girl Dolls! Each doll (except the best friends, who hang out with their besties ofc) has their own little hangout area, based on the Virtual Museum if possible. The house is fully functional with four bathrooms, a kitchen, and a bed for each doll (incl. best friends) in the attic slumber party room!

Notes:

There is a lot of CC from @historicalfictionsims‘s AG Drive– all used are listed under the cut.

Meant for a 50x40 lot. Pictures are from Del Sol Valley.

Historical Simblr Tag Game

Thanks to @sinclairesimblr for the tag!! Answers below the cut! 💖

1. What has been your favorite time period to play in or which one are you most excited for?

I love playing in the Early Victorian Era, I haven’t played in the Late Victorian Era but I sure will love it. 1940 also has a lot of story material within the game

2. Do you have a favorite piece of historical cc? (CAS or BB)

I must have so many that I can’t think of a specific one. The sinks of @linzlu. The dresses of @vintagesimstress and @gilded-ghosts. The hairstyles of @buzzardly28 are never enough and are great.

3. Who is your favorite sim currently?

Evangeline is one of the most beautiful and historical sims I’ve done so far, although now in my save I’m playing with Suzette teen and OH MY GOD This girl is just beautiful.

4. What is your favorite world?

Brindleton Bay has a special place in my heart. Growing up and living in a seaside area I find very beautiful the different places it has. Hengford is obviously the second now, those wide green spaces are not in other world

5. Are you more gameplay or story focused?

I do not know if I consider myself as a writer, but I focus more on the story I want to tell and in abse to it I play with what I can and does not require poses or extra elements.

6. Do you like to play with pets in your historical saves?

I try to integrate them more than I can, because I play with many sims at once are sometimes annoying, including when they get sick and I have to make them recover

7. What's your biggest immersion breaking pet peeve with the game?

Townies in their random outfits. I’m also very upset about the light poles and billboards in Brindleton Bay on the dock. I’m also upset that you can’t cancel the appearance of the Seasons skating rinks

8. What's your favorite in-game historical item? (CAS or BB)

The Victorian Flower Dress from Vampires, I love that big dress. For the Buy section I think I choose the pictures from Cats&Dogs and from Build I choose the doors from Strangerville

9. What would you like to see as a new pack or asset to the game?

Being too specific? I would love a set inspired by the period of the Regency or Victorian Epoch, I would love the option of ballroom dances or that the option of walking is not only centered on Mt Komorebi. Maybe a letter system to replace the phone

10. What pack do you think is invaluable as a historical simmer?

Cottage Living without hesitation. Vampires also if you like the gothic style and its tools to build. If you’re more of the Mid Century style it would help to have Get Famous

11. Do you have a favorite mod to enhance historical gameplay?

The Timeless mod. I know it hasn't been updated in a while, but the reason my favorite lot is the bluffs in Windenburg is because the Timeless mod makes it SO perfect by removing all the DJ stuff. It's just a cliff and a bonfire and an old pond and a view of the sea ♥

12. What's your ideal family size for playing?

My minimum to play normally is 4, I am playing with large families usually

13. Do you use poses?

More than anything poses, I feel that there are many actions or reactions of sims that are very exaggerated or "modern". Although sometimes I use them as well.

14. Do you use any overrides in your game?

I must have a couple, I have the override of the fireplace lighter, the override of the floor mop to be a broom, an override of the puddle of water slip like muddy puddles, Lumia override for lighting and my own override of books

15. Do you, or did you, play off-the-grid during your game?

I despair that many CC candles appear as normal lamps, and I am very upset about the few options for cooking.

16. What lifespan do you play on?

I used to almost always play in Long, but the truth I felt that I was stagnating a lot playing so now I play in Normal

17. What inspired you to start playing historically?

This is a big question hahaha. I was always a fan of vintage stuff as long as I can remember, when I was playing TS3 I used the classic furniture but nothing more. When I discovered CC on TS4 and this beautiful Tumblr community I discovered that there was a way to play that suited my tastes

Historical Simblr Tag Game

Thank you @applesaucesims for tagging me!

I think most people I follow have already been tagged, so I’m tagging anyone who’s interested!

Long post under the cut.

1. What has been your favorite time period to play in or which one are you most excited for?

For my TS3 Decades Challenge, I really enjoyed the 1930s and 1950s. I had a lot of fun with storytelling during those decades.

For my current TS4 Decades Challenge, I'm looking forward to the 1900s (because I already have a lot of plans for my 1890s kids and I'm looking forward to writing their stories), the 1930s (because I really like 30s fashion), and the 1910s and 1940s (because I enjoy making my Sims and my followers suffer).

2. Do you have a favorite piece of historical cc? (CAS or BB)

I have so many, but I’m only going to list a few here.

I love these vintage wallpapers and wall art - they really make my historical Sims’ houses feel more historical!

I also love basically everything by @/happylifesims, even though I haven’t had a chance to use much of their CC in my current story yet.

3. Who is your favorite sim currently?

It’s hard to choose just one, but right now, I love Alice Warren from my TS4 Decades Challenge! I’ve had a lot of fun writing her character so far, and I’m looking forward to writing the rest of her story. (Honestly, though, I love all of my 1890s kids so much!)

Another one of my favourite Sims is Edna Robinson from my TS3 Decades Challenge! She reminds me of myself in some ways, and I really enjoyed writing her story. She’s also one of the main reasons why I enjoyed the 1930s and 1950s so much in that story.

4. What is your favorite world?

Henford-on-Bagley! It’s an absolutely beautiful world, and I love farm gameplay and the whole cottagecore aesthetic so of course I’m gonna love it. (Plus it was inspired by England, where I’m from!)

5. Are you more gameplay or story focused?

Definitely more story-focused, but I do try to incorporate some aspects of gameplay into my story.

6. Do you like to play with pets in your historical saves?

I’m not sure why, but I don’t tend to play with pets in general, at least not in TS4. In TS3 I used to play wih pets all the time, but I didn’t really like the fact that pets weren’t controllable in TS4.

7. What’s your biggest immersion breaking pet peeve with the game?

Phones. I hate it when I’m playing a historical save and my Sims just randomly start browsing the web or playing games on their phones.

8. What’s your favorite in-game historical item? (CAS or BB)

Most of the Cottage Living kitchen stuff is great for historical gameplay. Also the base game wood-burning stove is very useful.

9. What would you like to see as a new pack or asset to the game?

I’d love a whole pack dedicated to historical stuff from different eras. I know Get Famous and Cottage Living already added some historical-ish stuff, but I’d always like to see more!

I also would like to be able to save custom styled looks in CAS. That would be really useful.

10. What pack do you think is invaluable as a historical simmer?

Again, Cottage Living, for reasons I’ve already mentioned. If you couldn’t tell already, I love that pack.

Get Together is also very useful, because it has Windenburg and some useful BB items. I also like Discover University, because Britechester is a good world for historical (mainly Victorian/Edwardian) storytelling and gameplay.

11. Do you have a favorite mod to enhance historical gameplay?

I haven’t used it in my Decades Challenge, but I really like Ye Olde Cookbook. I used to do a lot of medieval gameplay in my own time before I joined Simblr, so I used that a lot. It also comes with loads of other things that are really useful for historical gameplay!

12. What’s your ideal family size for playing?

I like to have between 4-6 Sims in my household. Big enough to not be boring, but small enough so I can focus on each individual Sim and write their story.

13. Do you use poses?

All the time! Poses are really useful for storytelling.

14. Do you use any overrides in your game?

I use this default skin for all my Sims, and a mod that replaces the modern mop that Sims use to clean up puddles with a broom.

15. Do you, or did you, play off-the-grid during your game?

Nope. I tried it, but it didn’t enhance my gameplay at all - it was just an annoyance. Also, my Sims couldn’t cook almost anything, which was both annoying and historically inaccurate.

Instead, I just try to keep everything as historically accurate as possible - using old-looking lights, baths instead of showers, old-fashioned toilets etc.

16. What lifespan do you play on?

Always normal. I don’t like my generations to drag on for too long, and I don’t want them to be too short either.

17. What inspired you to start playing a historically?

I think I’ve always liked historical fashion, so I downloaded a bunch of CC and started making historical Sims with it.

What inspired me to start my first Decades Challenge, though, was when I was looking back through my own family tree. I just thought “What if I made historical Sims and played with their family up until modern times?” Then I found the actual Decades Challenge rules and found out that people were already doing that, so I started doing it myself.

I was just going to play on my own without writing a story or anything, but then I started reading other people’s stories on Tumblr and got some inspiration, so here I am now!

Swanky Sailor’s Dress a TS3 to TS4 Conversion

It’s been a while until my last CC and i cant believe that i have 350 followers now so about a month ago i asked you guys wich dress i should do and this Sailor Dress was the number 1 option.

It’s a 1930′s - 1940′s-esque Dress with the classic red, white and blue nautical colors and a couple of extra swatches perfect for strolling the pier on a summer day.

4t3 Convert from Gilded-Ghosts’ Forties Film Noir Collection

A 4t3 conversion from the Forties Film Noir Collection, made by the most talented Gilded-Ghosts, now to ts3! As a very genuine christmas gift to all of you, and to compensate for my lack of posting these past few weeks, I wanted to give you a large gift for all of you to enjoy about one of the most ignored eras on ts3, the 1940s, for its lack of CC! Because there are 17 items in this set, I couldn’t include the preview pictures for the masks from these items, so you’ll just need to open CAS, pick them, and see them for yourself! Also don’t feel the need to talk about polycounts here, they’re all pretty low except for the hairs, which are a bit higher! Hope you like it! Enjoy! <3

Also, new logo and preview style. Was never good at graphical design and doing this kind of stuff by myself, but I think it turned out quite nice. Went for a more modern and clean vibe, but it’s still about history haha! Let me know what you think! :)

* Note that teens and elders have unsolvable neck gaps. This is sadly the price for having them available!

Known Problems;

The “Victory Suit Jacket” buttons may be a bit distorted with fat and fit morphs, but it’s very minimum, as I was able to fix it almost entirely!

The “Femme Fatale Gown” may have a bit of noise and color banding depending on your video card and all, especially in darker colors, so it kinda was a mistake that I choose dark green to be its main color lol! But it is what it is!

The “Sleuthhound Slacks” also suffer from a bit of noise and color banding. Sorry, wasn’t able to fix it, even tho I used Denoise a lot!

Again: I suck at hairs, but the only one I found some problems in was the “Swing Siren Bun”. It clips with morphs on the back, and some pixels on its sides disappear when you zoom out too much in-game! Sorry about that one, but it’s the best I could do. Tried fixing it multiple times!

That’s pretty much it! Think that’s good for 17 items, right? haha! <3

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE DOWNLOADING (LOTS OF CUSTOMIZATION):

Both hair accessories (flower and bows) are hat slider compatible!

The “Dizzy Dame Hat” has 2 separate versions, one without a veil, and one with!

The “Femme Fatale Gown” has 4 variables: first one has glitter, second one is a plain one, third one has glitter and embroidery, and the last one is a plain one with embroidery also!

The “Big Sleep Dress” has 4 very different presets! First one is a floral one, second one has embroidery with vertical stripes, third one has a vintage pattern, and the fourth one is a solid one! Everything is recolorable!

The “Dim and Gusty Dress” has 2 variables, patterned and plain! The patterned one is fully recolorable, thanks to GG’s PSD files! :)

The “Double Indemnity Dress” has 2 variables too, patterned and plain!

The “Sleuthhound Blouse” has 3 variables, first one has a patterned bodice, the second one has a patterned top with florals, and the last one is a plain one!

The “Sweet Suspicions Sweater” has 2 variables, an embroidered one, and just a normal sweater one!

The “Victory Suit Jacket” has 3 variables. first one being a pleaded one, second one having plaid, vertical stripes and floral embroidery, and third one just being plain!

The “Sleuthhound Slacks” has 3 variables, first one is a plain one with a button, second one is patterned, and third one has a belt instead of a button!

The “Victory Suit Skirt” has 2 variables, first is a plain one, and the other one is pleaded!

Oof… after that, you can go ahead and download it haha!
