I wanted to try making wall decorations, so I made these and threw them into that massive painting from Vampires. It's sort of a mini decades challenge going from 1890-1940. Behold, the result:

My hc is that the Vatores were born in the late 1930s/early 1940s, so Lilith isn't actually old enough to have worn any of these clothes when they were first in style. I think she dressed up like it's old times and took a buncha pictures just to confuse people trying to figure out how old she is, but you may draw your own conclusions.

Row of Gilded Age Upper West Side New York Brownstones.

When I started this build in late 2022, I ofc had no idea there would be a pack specifically dedicated to apartments coming out a year later. At most I planned for people to use mods, but I had also never used any such mods myself. All this to say, I'm honestly not sure how well this build plays as a rental! It is almost completely un-playtested and still largely unfurnished, and is only being released from the vault early in honor of finally getting rental residentials to exist.

But since the exterior facades and interior floorplans are done, its still an excellent shell for you to fill out! Only the first unit is (partially) furnished as an example for which rooms are which. In terms of build and furnishing, this is the wealthy decades player's dream, a Gilded Age townhome worthy of Upstairs, Downstairs.

My 10 year old niece is passionate like me about the sims 4 and wanted to start a historical save file too but she hates cc's to death so she asked me if I could kindly create families for her vanilla save. So I created 18 sims in the early 1900s. I tried to be as close to the style as possible and I used almost all the dlcs that are in the sims 4.

The Lowell family arrived at the circus bright and early!

Maeve and her parents were waiting at the entrance, which gave Aris and Anya the chance to socialize with some other adults while the kids ran off to have fun!

Ivy and Maeve quickly went off to explore the circus by themselves :) but in public, the only affection they allowed themselves were stolen touches here and there.

Not everyone was thrilled... Ivy's childhood friend Georgia was hoping to hang out with both Ivy and Maeve, but they seemed to have forgotten that she was at the circus too.

Georgia didn't go unnoticed and she wasn't lonely for long, however. Erik was excited to see someone he knew and soon the two were talking for Hours.

Meanwhile.

Irene had found the fortune teller's stall and her initial excitement turned to dread..

"A great misfortune will fall upon your family, beware the night.."

Irene was so shocked that she ran immediately to find her parents to warn them, right as the fortune teller was offering some good luck charm or another. Aris quickly soothed her worries with a few laughs and Irene forgot about it amongst the excitement of the day.

An exciting day at the circus was finally done...

On some random Tuesday Gilbert decide to take a walk on the park cause he has been thinking about that girl eyes Tessa, the name feel like a honey in his tongue. As he walk by he notice a young girl who is playing a chess alone.

The sun shine above her, eyes brighter than the blue sky, and the blonde hair is reflecting like a sun. He immediately notice that she's his sister new friend. What her name ??? Veronica? Vanessa? Victoria.

With his thought he walk towards her and politely ask " May I join the game?"The girl look at him and simply answer "You can have a seat"

G : I know you, you're my sister's friend right.

V : Yes i know you too. She mentioned about her brothers alot.

G : Interesting. Good or bad

V : You won't never know. Well shall we start?

Gilbert nob towards her.

As they are playing

Gilbert ask her " Why are you playing alone? It's ok if you don't have to answer".

Victoria move a chess and answered.

V: It's not that private things. Sometimes i like to spend and clear my thought. If you might wondering what kind of thought. There is a ball coming and it's shame that i can't dance.

Gilbert look at with her with not trusting eyes

V : Oh don't look at me like that. I know, i know girl should learn the dance blah""" but i didn't learn for some reason and now i'm mess up.

she hissed

G : With this case. You don't have to worried about that i can teach you some.

V : Are you sure about that ?

G : Why not ? Beside you're my sister's best friend. She will mad at me if i know your struggle and didn't teach you.

Victoria give him a smile and say " Thank you

By the way you're,...?"

"Gilbert"

V: oh i thought you're Erwin..my bad

G : It's ok she's the only girl in your siblings so it's ok to wrong our names. So i'm going to teach you a dance lesson in every evening in here.

V : Here ?

G : Why ?

V : People gonna see. You know about the society.

G : Then where can i teach you a dance?

V : You can come to my house.

Suddenly her face went blush and he notice that. It's so cute when she blush he guess.

Third and final part of the series! A decade-by-decade view of the Vatore siblings covering 1890-1940. I hc them as having been born in the late 1930s/early 1940s, so to me this isn't actually a record of their life but rather just a photoshoot of the two of them playing dress-up. Sibling bonding!

I'm going to make these into wall art like I did with the Lilith portraits - I should have them up in a few days.

Part I: Exteriors | Part II

So after the long-awaited addition of Infants and Ceilings to the game, I realized I should probably update my one furnished build (so far) for these features. Unfortunately I got carried away again and just ended up revamping the whole build from the exterior, to each individual room + some new ones! This version has also been more extensively play-tested over time with all age groups and pets, with some extra fire hazard and accessibility issues addressed.

Portals! Small library located off the spell-room has been converted into the Portal Room with 3 portals leading throughout the house: one to the tower on the roof, one to the greenhouse in the back, and one to the third floor hall.

Moved Magic Realm Portal to rooftop garden

Put more cat doors everywhere, they enjoy using the catdoors and portals for zoomies

Sprinklers, alarms, and fire resistant flooring have been added around fireplaces.

Fireplace in the tower was removed for it's propensity to set the roof on fire and become unreachable and inextinguishable

Tower room has been converted into a Collections display room instead, a la sims 3

Portal in the tower/Collections room also makes potential burglaries more threatening, but if you’re an occult you’re expected to employ practical DADA techniques to avert this

Updated Nursery and Playroom for Infants

Redid terrain paint. Twice. Why tf does it just vanish randomly sometimes

NEW Magic Bean Hunt! Stump is located where the magic realm portal used to be and beans are strategically hidden around the lot. I'd love to see how long it takes for you to catch them all!

Washbasins for rooms without bathrooms now look like washbasins and are actually useable, both on and off grid

Added privacy hedges and lattices to backyard and fenced in chicken run

Potions Crafting Table added to Spell-room

Crafters Supply Cabinet added to Kitchen

Pocketed pocket doors

Secret Cat Room color scheme updated and cat-approved artwork added

Another Cat room added to 3rd floor

Magic Well has been shrunk

Rooftop area outside 3rd floor Study converted into rooftop Pavilion with chessboard and painting easel

Jack-and-Jill bathroom added for two of the third floor bedrooms

Toilet room removed and bath added for staff washrooms, for an equal 2-toilet/2-bath arrangement, which means the build now has a total of 7 full baths, and 8 toilets.

More crafting tables (fizz machine and candle maker) added to Staff Lounge

Yoga/Meditation Balcony for staff above greenhouse

Small telescope added to rooftop outside tower room’s new 2nd door

Garden lights around yard configured for power + off grid lighting

‘Bike racks’ added by front gate

New Library shelves seem to allow sims to retrieve books but not put them back. However this is actually a feature, not a bug, since now you can put the books back yourself on on the right shelves and keep things organized 🙃

Should now be consistently able to feed and be eaten by the Cowplant

Homey trait replaced by Gnome lot trait since there is a proliferation of gnomes

Just when they thought Peter would recover, he took a turn for the worse, and Rebecca had to consider the possibility that she and her husband would not grow old together. Nearly 32 years they had been married. They had raised four children. And now one of them was dead and another ill with the same sickness killing Peter. Dr. Ingalls had told her all she could do now was make him comfortable as he died. The thought was heart-wrenching. 

“My… my father died in the exact same spot,” Peter wheezed. “I was where you were, kneeling while my mother held his hand.”

Rebecca sniffled. “I remember. I felt so helpless, standing in the corner and watching. I still feel helpless.”

“To think I could have been a Duke. And you a duchess. I would have loved to see you decked out in fancy pearls and beautiful dresses.”

“You’ve made me happier than any jewel or coin would.”

“I wish we would have made it to our 32nd anniversary,” he coughed. 

Tears pooled in her eyes. “Oh, Peter,” she whimpered. “What am I to do without you?”

“You’ll be fine, my darling. You won’t need to worry about fiances, and once Byron becomes Duke, you’ll be living in only the finest houses.”

“If he doesn’t manage to get out of it. If anyone could, it would be him.”

“Stubborn.” He smiled sadly. “Like me.”

He coughed again. “Rebecca?”

“Yes, darling?”

“I don’t want to die.”

Tears escaped her eyes. “I don’t want you to die either.”

He sighed and closed his eyes. His face had paled and yellowed, and she knew he was at death’s door. “Lie with me,” he whispered. “Do yo know how I wanted to die?”

“How?” She whisepred.

“Of old age. You and I would spend the day with our many grandchildren and after dinner and prayer, we would get in bed and pass away peacefully.”

More tears streamed down her face. “Peter.”

“Lie with me,” he repeated. “I want someone next to me as I die.”

Rebecca took her husband’s sickly hand and closed her eyes, listening to his shallow breathing until it completely stopped.

October 1st, 1903

Now that William Jr. is a preteen and the twins are school-aged, all three boys are old enough to help their father out on the farm after school and on weekends. William Jr. has a few years of experience up to now, and he knows not to slack off. Graham and John, on the other hand, tend to get easily distracted. Because of this, William Sr. has decided to monitor the boys at all times to make sure their work gets done.

Inside the home, Hanna is teaching Elizabeth how to cross-stitch.

“My, what a docile child you are,” Hanna says. “It sure is nice to settle in like this in between raising those future workers of the world out there with your Pa.”

Elizabeth politely agreed, even though she felt uneasy. Since she was very young, she has been taught that her brothers will one day become the head of their households, and she will be a housewife just like her mother. This never sat right with her, but she’s been told that this is “just how we keep the world turning, honey.” Elizabeth silently hopes that one day the world can keep turning with girls entering the workforce, as well.

After their at-home studies, the twins challenge Elizabeth to a game of marbles. They figured a two-against-one game would be an easy win, but they were in for a surprise. Elizabeth won against the boys easily. Her dreams of being head of the house one day may seem lofty to her, but she can still take pride in the little moments where she has the upper hand today.

In the living room, William Sr. and Jr. talk about the future. William Sr. is going to be a teenager very soon, and he needs to decide if he wants to continue on to high school or if he wants to stop going to school after 8th grade and get a head start on working full-time.

“Pa, I-I’d like to continue to 12th grade,” William Jr. nervously stutters. He isn’t sure how his father will take this, as he has been strict about him getting work done on the farm as much as possible. “I… I’m not quite sure if I would like to continue farming in my adulthood. I may want to consider my own path.” To his surprise, William Sr. met his request with a hearty grin.

“I’m proud of you, son. You have a brilliant mind, and I look forward to seeing what you can accomplish with more schooling.”

“Oh, thank you, thank you Pa!” William Jr. shouts with joy.

“You’re quite welcome, junior.” William Sr.’s grin slowly drops. “But for now, get back out there and help your brothers.”

“Yes, sir.”

Irene was struggling with her new found secret.. The image of Ivy sneaking out to kiss someone ate away at her. Ivy would've gotten in so much trouble if anyone had seen her!

She stalked behind her brother and sister on the way to school and struggled to focus all day while wondering what to do.

When she came home, she considered telling her mother- but the impending doom of her mother starting a fight with her sister stopped her in the threshold of the kitchen. There was no way she was going to tell her mother, that was a sure way to get Ivy disowned!

She couldn't tell her father.. he was too busy with the horses..

A secret of this magnitude was just too big for one little girl :(

"Ivy?" Irene mustered the courage to speak up as the girls got ready for bed.

"Yeees?" Ivy replied, suspicious that her normally precious sister was so meek today.

"I saw you and Maeve last night, but I didn't tell anybody, I promise! And I'm not going to because I don't want you to get in trouble! And- I like Maeve, but if someone finds out, you know mom is going to be so mad at you!"

Ivy was taken aback, but Irene left her no space to chip in.

"We're not allowed to kiss anyone until we're married! That's what mom tells us all the time!"

"Wait- You're worried about kissing? Not that it's Maeve?!" Ivy blurted out

"YES!" because truly, that was the only thing Irene was anxious about. Maeve was a wonderful girl and Ivy was happy with her, Irene could see that clearly enough!

Ivy laughed 😔"I won't get in trouble for kissing! And if I do, I'll make sure mom and dad will have more to worry about than just that!"

Irene laughed too and Ivy couldnt resist picking up her littol baby sister "You must be the sweetest girl in the world." which was certainly a far cry from her opinion of Irene when she was a toddler. Who would've known that Irene would become her closest confidant as they grew up.
