pinning my 8 theory post for the third time now because there is far too much evidence that needs to be documented!

now, for those of you who still don't know what this 8 MEANS - neither do i lmaooooooooo but here are some of my best bets:

Haven't updated this in a while so here's proof of 8 theory (eras tour edition)

Tour kicked off on 17th March 1 + 7 = 8

August, Vigilante Shit, wanegbt, bad blood are all on the permanent setlist and what do they have in common? They're track 8s!!

4 track 8s and 2 surprise songs - 4x2 =8 again

Both shows have had surprise songs from folklore, her 8th album so far

Counting the surprise song, she sings EIGHT songs from folklore aka TS8 in total

There is only ONE spoken/poem style song which is SEVEN 1+7=8

another win for 8 theory: speak now tv was announced on a date that adds up to 8

very strange to me that she played last kiss (track 13) and dorothea (track 8)..........after referencing the time 1:38 in a music video..............both on july 8th.................you know what they say.......if the theory shoe fits..............(july 9th)

Just some things that stuck out to me…

I know everyone is jumping on the 18 months bit and it probably means something.

Track names

But DM specifically mentioning track 2 (Cruel Summer), track 3 (Lover), and track 11 (London Boy) from the Lover album. Then mentioning track 8 (Gorgeous) from her rep album felt rather specific.

And the order the songs are mentioned just feels intentional.

Track 3 + track 8 then Track 11 + track 2.

That is 11 and 13

the 2 and 3 as bookends = 5 so what is 8/11…

To me

The track names feel intentional because they didn’t list the track names for the songs WB is credited on for folklore and evermore.

Instead the article just says “two songs” and “three more songs.”

Additionally

Interestingly enough the way this refers to TS8 (folklore) and TS9 (evermore) feels like a 1989 TV hint. Because 2 + 3 = 5 and Taylor made TS 8 and 9 sister albums because ‘89

The numbers just always seem to line up.

Bonus

The article mentions “behind closed doors” twice and “stay away from the cameras” and l”sworn to secrecy” which just makes me think of the I Know Places lyrics and the performance from the 1989 world tour

“Loose lips sink ships all the damn time not this time.”

“Lights flash and we’ll run for the fences.”

The I Know Places performance was number 7 on the tour set list and track 12 on 1989. 12-7=5

I’d be crazy to say TS5 is coming 8/11 but I’ll do it here just because. See the track name section above for why.

I think we all need to keep remembering, or realizing, is that this isn’t a confessional album, it’s a storytelling, fantasy & writing from memories album. These are a mix of what she has been through, what she has seen others go through, what she imagines a situation would be like.

The point of “real” folklore is you never know how much is truth and how much is exaggeration and imagination. Folklore stories are passed down so often through so many hands and mouths and time that you just don’t know which, if any, is real. I believe that is the point of this album, with these songs and this title. The album truly is folklore
