"Then we might all have went back twenty years!" Logan finishes.

Patton has been looking back and forth between them as they spoke "wow" he says "both of you are super smart!"

"I know" they say in unison making them smile at each other.

The adults all look to him to see the picture he holds up, it’s cute, it definitely is them, he used their favourite colours and all.

Thomas scrunches his face up "I dunno how to spell my name."

"That’s alright squirt we’ll help you" Virgil says crouching down to help guide Thomas' hand.

Thomas is concentrated as they sound out his name with him as they help him get the letters down, once done he looks at it triumphantly.

"Good job son!" Remus says patting Thomas' head.

"Well yeah! I know how to have fun ya'know" he giggles and picks up a balloon himself, he smiles as he whips it at Remus, Remus not prepared for the fastness of the attack gets the balloon exploding on his shoulder.

"Hey! We’re going after them first!" He yells as Logan is stepping out of the tent.

"What-" is all she can get out before Remus panics at the suddenness of her presence and throws a balloon straight at her, it hits her in the chest, she winces as the water splashes in her face "-ah, okay."

"You guys need to stop seeing the prank before we can do It!" Remus bellows then picks up another balloon "I’m going after Ro, you can’t stop me."

"Wait!" Patton says "you’ll get our sleeping bags wet!"

"The sun can dry em" he says as he sneaks towards the tent.

Patton trails behind Remus "I dunno if you should do that, he’s very whiny right now, his sleep pattern was knocked all haywire so he’s kinda like a little baby at the moment."

Remus chuckles "all the better then."

Patton backs off "alright, your funeral buddy."

Remus unzips the tent as fast as he could and strikes as soon as he gets sight of his target, the balloon hits Roman in the face and it bursts, wetting everything around him.

He splutters in confusion for a few seconds before he lands his eyes on a roaring Remus, he’s laughing so hard that his arms are around his middle.

"Remus!" Roman screeches "what the fuck!"

"Pranked!" Remus laughs out.

Roman growls, Remus with a manic grin knows that that’s his queue to book it, so he does, but Roman scrambles up quickly and gives chase.

He tackles Remus to the ground and lightly smacks him in the face, it only makes Remus laugh out more.

"You got our tent all wet you jerk!"

"It’ll dry you fuckin whimp!"

"Ugh that’s so annoy-" Roman is cut off by another water balloon breaking on him making him more wet and splashing onto Remus as well, the twins look towards their assailant.

They’re surprised to see a giggling giddy Thomas, Virgil is standing behind him with a proud smile.

Roman squeezes his hand again, Dee and Virgil get closer to him.

"Okay, as many times as Ro has told me it’s not my fault, it totally one hundo percent is my fault, I can’t see how it’s not."

"Shhh, it’s story time" he tries to lighten the mood, it doesn’t work "anyway...she was three, we were just twelve and we were left alone with her. I, I don’t know why we were alone with her, but we just were, we were playing in the front of the house, the three of us, Roman went inside to get us snacks so I stayed behind to watch her, I... didn’t watch well enough."

Roman goes to speak but Remus cuts him off "don’t, don’t say anything or I might not continue." Roman shuts his mouth.

"I don’t remember what I was doing instead of watching her, I just know that it had my full attention, but I did happen to look around after, what maybe was five minutes, she toddled her way down the driveway and slipped through the gates, she was small enough to fit and once I realised how far she was it was too late for me to stop her, I was jiggling the gates the entire time, they don’t open manually and I wasn’t small enough to get through... she... she walked out to the road, I, I tried, I tried so hard" a tear falls from his eye, he takes a deep breath and continues "as, as much noise as I made to get her to come back to me, it didn’t happen she just turned around to face me, she fell on her butt and, and just sat there smiling at me... I kept trying to tell her to come to me, she didn’t listen, and I couldn’t... I couldn’t do anything as a fast oncoming car..... I guess they didn’t see her cause they only skidded to a halt after they, they... after they splattered her all over my nightmares...

Dee and Virgil smile as well; they snuggle up to their boyf from where they’re sitting, Remus puts his arm around Dee's waist and wraps his legs around Virgil’s torso.

Roman suppresses a yawn.

"Oh are you bored brother?" Remus teases.

"Shut up, I’m still tired" he says shoving Remus a bit, jostling the other two with it.

Virgil yawns as well and rests his head backwards on Remus' stomach closing his eyes "I’m getting tired too."

"Maybe we should all retire for the night?" Logan suggests.

"Sounds good to me" Dee agrees, Patton nods.

"Alright I’ll put out the fire, you guys go" Remus says.

Patton gets up first "good night" he says then hoists Roman up as he passes him, Logan is right behind them and they disappear into their tent.

Virgil and Dee don’t move from their little cuddle huddle, they sit there for a few minutes longer just staring into the fire.

"Wonder what tomorrow will bring" Dee whispers.

Virgil scowles slightly "lets hope it’s good..."

"I... my momma said that to me once, I didn't believe her the first time she said it" he shakes his head, there's a sad smile on his face "I can't believe that I wouldn't think that, she was the most kind most selfless person in the whole world" he looks down to the snakes wrapped around his pinkies "she was right, she always was though."

There's silence for a few seconds.

"I remember when she told me that" he strokes the little snakes with a fond smile, thoughts of his mother always make him a little happy no matter how melancholy it makes him "I was reeeal small and I was complaining bout some bullies in school and I actually said that I hated everyone cause people will always be mean no matter what."

He looks up to the sun "I was wrong of course, it happened when we were still out that day I wondered off somewhere, still mad from school wasn't payin attention to where momma was and and and I got lost, I was so scared and being scared and angry at everyone didn't help my trust issues that day" he laughs a little at himself "I snapped and ran from anyone who even looked at me, but there was this one person who... didn't give up and they tried to help me even when I was bein bratty, eventually I got back to my mom with their help the look on her face she was so... distraught she was cryin an she ran up to me an hugged me tight, she thanked the stranger lots and when they left she smiled at me and said 'remember E-Dee that people can be kind if you give them a chance."

He sighs "I'm forever thankful for that person, not only for bringing me back to my momma but for that life lesson."

He shakes his head and the fog from the magic seems to have lifted from his vision.

He goes light headed for a second before passing out.

When he comes to his head hurts - he seems to be back to adulthood.

"What the hell, we really need to find a way to get rid of that magic I'm getting sick of being messed around with."

"Of course, it’s a flawless plan, they won’t hurt him and all of their attention will be on him" Logan says.

"What do I do?" Roman asks.

Logan thinks "well, you’re a new addition to my plan, but it does give us more range if you can sneak around the forest."

"I can do that, I’ve done that countless times before" Roman boasts.

"Perfect, circle around and go on the other side of them from where we are now, once I give the signal come out of hiding and open fire."

"Got it!" Roman salutes, grabs a bag of balloons and sneaks off to his vantage point.

"Is it my turn now?" Thomas asks excitedly.

"Just a second little star, we need to wait for uncle Roro to get in place."

Logan peaks on the other side of the car to see if Roman got to his destination, looking at where she told him to be, she spots a glint of red within the greens and browns of the forest.

The other four... don’t seem too concerned, a bit confused but not on the defence, they’re not even fighting anymore and it looks like Patton and Dee don’t have any balloons.

She hopes Roman gets to the same conclusion as her: only Virgil and Remus are still in, this is ideal, she smirks and turns back to Thomas.

"Alright, you only need to target Remus and Virgil, you can do that now if you’re ready."

Thomas bounces and squeals happily, he scurries around Remus' car darting to Logan’s and comes out from behind there to get everyone’s attention away from the direction of Remus' car.

He runs out towards them, arms up in the air with a balloon in each hand.

"I got you!" He yells and throws a balloon in both of their directions, the one directed at Remus hits the ground in front of his feet and the one that went towards Virgil hit his shins but bounces off and doesn’t break, Thomas pouts at that "I didn’t get you..."

"Awwww kiddo!" Patton coos in sympathy.

Virgil and Remus share a concerned glance, before going towards Thomas to comfort him.

"It’s alright buddy, sometimes things don’t work out" Virgil starts.

"And that’s not your fault ya'hear?" Remus adds.

They lower to Thomas' height to look at him better.

Thomas keeps their attention long enough for Logan to climb up on top of Remus' car unnoticed, she whistles with her fingers, startling the others and calling Roman out of hiding, once Roman jumps out Thomas backs up and both adults start to pelt the other two, Thomas laughs at their screeches of confusion and surprise.

Thomas runs back to Logan "can I have a balloon?"

"Of course" Logan says tossing one to him, the balloon bursts on his fingers and splashes him in the face, he squeals with laughter as it hits him "another!" He laughs.

Logan this time hands him two balloons without tossing them, Thomas yells in a war scream as he runs at the other two getting his redemption from not hitting them earlier.

"I’m almost out of ammo!" Roman yells, Logan looks down at her stash, she’s almost out as well.

Thomas runs up to her for more balloons, she gives him the last two, Roman now has run out as well, Virgil and Remus are on the ground protecting themselves.

They look around when the onslaught ceases, and they see Thomas standing over them with the last two balloons of the game, he’s holding them up with a wide smile on his face.

"Damn" Virgil remarks.

"Holy shi-iiiiiiiioot" Remus agrees "alright, you win bud, finish us off" he says bowing respectfully "I don’t feel any remorse from loosing to a worthy opponent, in fact it’s my honour."

Virgil nods "what he said."

Thomas doesn’t need to be told twice, he throws them down both of them hit the adults splashing open, and thus ending the water balloon fight.

"We won!" Thomas cheers throwing his hands up.

Remus leaps forwards and scoops Thomas up in a wet hug "ya sure did!"

Thomas laughs at the swinging motion and the wetness of the hug, he holds on to Remus' neck for security.

Logan jumps off of the cars roof to come join in on the joy.

"That was fun" she says holding out a fist bump to Thomas "you are an amazing partner in crime."

Thomas looks at her fist in confusion before high fiving it, everyone chuckles at that.

"Ah, well that works too" Logan says.

You ask this right as Patton is about to dodge another attack, it throws him off guard.

"Wha- What?" He stammers and trips on his own feet, Dee holds on to Patton’s neck for dear life as they tumble to the ground, their ammo bags get caught under Patton and all of their balloons burst.

"Who told you that!?" He says highpitched and squeaky.

Dee is rubbing his forehead from where he hit it on the ground as he fell off of Patton’s back "oh great" he mumbles "of course you’d bring that up right now."

"They’re distracted!" Remus yells, both he and Virgil take their chance and pelt the two with their water balloons.

"Ah!" Patton yells holding up his hands "we surrender!"

"Patton!" Dee hisses "what the hell man!"

"We don’t have any more ammo!"

Dee looks at the ruined balloons under Patton "fuck, fine we surrender or whatever."

Virgil and Remus high five.

Remus goes to help Dee up.

"You guys alright?" Virgil asks as he puts his hand on Dee's head, the spot he was rubbing in pain.

"Yeah I don’t have a concussion or anything."

Remus looks around their surroundings for the first time "hey, where’s Ro?"

The others look with him "yeah, and L hasn’t reappeared yet either..." Virgil says suspiciously.

Patton without blindfold! Quick a M!A in which a mirror appear in front of him >:) -☠️ (maybe idk how to respond to compliment but I know how to hurt them bois)

Patton’s brow scrunches up and he pouts, but as much as he’s afraid of seeing a bunch of spiders on his face (even with his glasses off) he resolves himself to face (ha!) his fear, the mirror must go away once he looks at it right?

So he takes a deep breath and leaves the comfort of Logan’s neck, he swallows before opening his eyes.

And once he does the mirror pops into existance and as he’s staring at himself with a small wince, a spider crawls out from his hair on to his face, he starts to make a high pitched sound without opening his mouth, and the more he looks the more creepy crawly death dealers seem to appear, and the louder his whine turns.

His lip quivers and he starts to cry again, less dramatically than when he smacked Logan though.

Logan has has enough, he rolls down a window, grabs the mirror and just fuckin yeets it as harshly as he can out, the mirror surprisingly smashes on the road and doesn’t come back.

Patton immediately shuts his eyes and starts to smack at his face rapidly, getting all of the spiders off of himself.

He screams in frustration and if he’s not lying, some anger as well.

Logan helps as much as he can with the removal, taking any spider that he finds and throwing them out the window as well.

Roman, in the front seat, unable to help grits his teeth and seethes.

The next few hours have been relatively quiet, and although it was quite boring Roman is glad that there was no more horrible conversation (cough cough Bonesy)

The sun began to rise and so the seventh day (these three second day) has begun, and now there’s only about a day left, Roman will admit that he’s tired as all fuck but there’s not much he can do about that except open another drink and hope it gets them to the campsite.

As the sun peaks out on the horizon, Patton blinks their eyes open.

"Hey Ro, sorry for falling asleep on ya" he mumbles sleepily.

"That’s quite alright sweets, you needed to have your eyes closed anyhow."

At that reminder Patton freezes up "o-oh yeah, that happend..." his face scrunches up in displeasure, they sigh and place their chin on the front seat with a pout "if I stay like this I won’t have to see myself."

"What if you took off your glasses?" Roman suggests.

"Idunno... that might be even scarier, they might still be there when I look and they’ll just be freaky little blurs of creepiness" they shiver "I’ll just, do this."

"Alright, if it makes you feel better."

The sun is now a little bit higher, the sky is painted in a wonderful array of colours, the two watch it with small smiles, at least it's not going to stay bad.

Roman begins to hum a melody, and it along with the sunrise soothes Patton's nerves a bit.

"Wh-What..." Patton whispers, fear in his voice, he looks determinedly forwards, he’s not even going to test that out.

"Well, this is turning more and more into a shitshow the farther we get" Logan comments with some annoyance.

Roman scowls "you can come for me, I’m fine with that, but once you fuck with my partners-" Logan puts a hand on Roman’s shoulder stopping his sentence.

He sighs "we can’t do anything about it, the only course of action would be to wait it out" he turns in his seat to face Patton "Patton, dear look at me please."

Patton doesn’t move his head to look at Logan, fear of seeing himself, he only moves his eyesight to his direction, Logan smiles comfortingly at him.

"I don’t know how long this is going to go on for, but you need only too keep your eyes closed okay?"

"Mmhm" he hums in conformation but it’s high pitched and strained, if he opens his mouth he feels like he’s going to scream, the fear on his face makes Logan angry, and he does something he’d never do while in a moving car.

He unbuckles his seatbelt and manuvers to climb over the seat to get into the back.

"Lo! What are doing!" Patton squeaks out.

"I’m coming back there so I can comfort you."

Roman smiles at that "you’re such a big softie brainiac" he says with affection.

Logan ignores that, he moves things off of the back seat and plops himself down next to Patton, he takes Patton’s face in his hands so all he can see is Logan.

"You’re fine, everything is fine, just close your eyes and this will all be over soon."

Patton gives the smallest of nods, he slumps forwards into Logan’s arms burying his face in Logan’s neck and clutching his eyes shut.
