Finally someone asked about this, and I'm immensely happy because it's a subject I've wanted to address for a long time. It turns out that I never really went into depth about it because I didn't know if people would feel uncomfortable.

JSHK has very strong and heavy themes, so I try to be cautious when talking about some things, even if I have theories about the topic. But to be honest, I'm thinking about talking to people about it.

Some of these themes are important to the main plot, and their analysis has a very important outcome for us to draw some conclusions about the characters' behavior, but anyway, returning to your question, let's talk about two of these themes, and one of the most controversial.

Hanako died at age thirteen, but he maintained his consciousness and physical presence for over fifty years. People still debate his mental age today, some say he has a mental age equivalent to the age he died, others say he already thinks like an adult.

Hanako has a duality, he will never be just "one" thing always, he is not just a good boy, but he is also not just a bad boy, I can spend hours exemplifying this, but that is not my intention, making it clear that this applies to most of the characters, so since we're talking about his mental age, this applies too.

He acts like a child, not like Tsukasa, but you still see him playing with toys or playing with other people, Hanako likes to have fun. He also has some childish thoughts about some things and does wrong things like a child. Tsuchigomori is sometimes seen teaching him things, as if he were responsible, like when the boy wanted to sell Tsuchigomori's objects without permission to buy a hat, the teacher teaches him that this is wrong and he understands.

We can clearly see that there is a very childish side to him, but at the same time he also has a more adult side. Let's consider him to be a side younger than an adult properly speaking. Hanako was thirteen years old so he was in puberty, about to leave pre-adolescence and enter adolescence. In fact, sexual desires are common and very latent at this age.

But, we are already talking about two topics, I will separate them so that we can better understand the connection that sex has with hunger.

Let's start by talking about sex.

Hanako clearly has strong and very latent sexual desires, this was made very clear from the beginning, what happens is that the "comic" side of the series leaves this as a situation that is supposed to be "funny" as if it were just a joke. Just look at many panels of the manga, the way Hanako looks at Yashiro with desire, as if he was always about to kiss her, the way he is always touching, hugging, putting his arms around her, it's because there is a desire he tries to control.

Hanako doesn't just feel desire for Yashiro, he has a sexual desire that is natural to him, that is, this desire didn't start because of her. He always walks around or finds some suggestive items.

Erotic books (whether with girls in bikinis or magazines teaching what to do at "the right time" such as the magazine that teaches how to reach your girlfriend's G-spot)

Books teaching how to win someone over (like the one he used to help make Yashiro's wish come true) the book was very worn out, which means he read it very often. This indicates that he was wanting to learn to do it with someone (conquer someone).

The Kokeshi doll.

Let me tell you about this doll. There are some meanings behind it, such as the fact that it is used as an amulet to guarantee the protection of children, but at the same time the doll is also associated with sex and the sexual desire of boys, due to its shape.

On some Japanese sites I found it being linked to use for boys' sexual "relief", if you know what I mean. Not only does Hanako have a kokeshi doll, but he also thinks it's "Sexy." Again, people associated this moment where he says this as comic relief, but the signs are there.

So, let's move on to the sexual desire he feels for Yashiro.

When Hanako was a child, he said that Yashiro was his type, that is, he had been attracted to her since that age (even though he was so young). When Nene met him again when he was older, the first thing Hanako did when they formed a bond was flirt with her, and he flirts very often.

His flirtations are different from those we usually see in other works. He always uses touch when he does, and Nene has noticed this to the point of claiming that he sexually harasses her. Do you see that Yashiro herself noticed this? At first Hanako had no criteria, he actually didn't care about touching her or imagining her naked, trying to look under her skirt or watching her take a shower (despite her turning into a fish).

And he didn't care because it was purely physical, he actually felt a strong sexual desire for her, even though she wasn't the only one. Yes, Hanako has also touched Aoi-chan, and even talked about the size of her breasts.

Then, Hanako falls in love with Nene and his way of acting subtly changes. We saw how he was reluctant to go after Yashiro when she went to take a shower with Sumire because he was afraid Yashiro would be mad at him. Do you think he would do this before? Hanako now has feelings for her, so he starts holding back.

Holding back is something that represents Hanako well.

And we see this all the time, the confirmation that he holds so much back came precisely in the chapter on the mokkes of the dead. Hanako doesn't have his normal consciousness, he's letting himself be carried away by his desire, in this case for sweets, but did you notice that he recognized Yashiro's voice when she called him? And the way he "attacks" her is different from the way he attacks Kou. We clearly see the sexual connotation here, Hanako's desire for Yashiro, and he pursues her until the end.

In this chapter we see that just by "relaxing" a little, he already tried to fulfill one of his own desires. Hanako already had several opportunities to kiss Yashiro but he was always holding back, he couldn't hold back any longer during their reunion because he hadn't seen her for a long time, because she risked her own life to see him, she saved him from Teru and She still confessed that she loved him. He couldn't hold back any longer and kissed her.

So, I've been thinking about this whole situation and whether Hanako would start putting pressure on Yashiro if they started dating. If Nene is his girlfriend, he'll be able to tease her, right? I was wondering if this possibility could happen and I started to think so after what happened between Hakubo and Sumire.

So, after an intense kiss between the two, would we see Hanako trying to touch Yashiro? Or even succeeding? Nene is not difficult to convince, and she must know that when she wanted to have a boyfriend, sex would be part of the relationship, the question is, how long could Hanako stay before he started wanting to consummate with her?

This is where I start to talk about the second theme, "hunger".

You sent me the link to a post (very good indeed) talking about the relationship between eating and sex, which are directly linked to JSHK, and it actually makes perfect sense. Aidairo made it very clear that this duality exists and the constant use of this metaphor.

That's because sex and hunger have one thing in common, desire

Everything in JSHK is about desire. Make wishes, fulfill wishes, always wishes.

Hunger and Sex are represented by the desire to obtain, to consume, to obtain something at will. Or are you going to tell me that you don't feel pleasure when you can eat delicious food when you're starving?

Eating is a word that actually has a sexual representation not only in JSHK but also throughout the world. I'll give you a personal example here.

In the country where I live (Brazil) the word "eating" is almost a synonym for sex, depending on the context in which you use it. If you say that you desire or want to "eat" someone, the person listening to you will SURELY understand that you are going to have sexual relations with the other person and that you will be the one who will be on top (active). So, if you come here haha, don't use that term because people will interpret it as being about sex.

I want to eat someone is the same thing that I want to have sex with someone. It's a very popular term even though a lot of people hate it (especially women).

I imagine that in other places in the world the word "eating" could be related to sex too, not just here in Brazil.

So back to JSHK, let's talk about hunger. We know that cannibalism is present in the work too, in addition to the extra arts in which the characters are represented as food or something like that.

We see Hakubo and Sumire's relationship, and we have to admit that the moment Hakubo went to "destroy" Sumire, he ate her. It was very obvious and very clear that it was a sex scene.

Obviously not in the most common way, but remember that Aidairo literally uses eating to represent sex itself. This is the most explicit example we have in the work (for now).

So let's move on to another topic, the way supernaturals relate to humans is different, of course it's different. Supernaturals like to devour humans and the way they deal with feelings is different but at the same time similar to that of humans.

Hakubo was a supernatural, he was born that way, and he reflected what was part of his nature. He did it the way he liked, he could have destroyed Sumire in any other way, but he chose to eat her, to consume her.

Do you know who is also a supernatural?

Even though he was a human and understands better how relationships between humans work and that he can actually fall in love, he is still a supernatural.

Hanako is also hungry, and the whole time he is next to a kannagi girl, and he said that kannagis are delicious for supernaturals.

Hanako feels desire for Yashiro, he is a supernatural, she is a human with that title, with the blood that supernaturals desire. So, Hanako wants to eat Yashiro?

What if in the end Hanako has to "consume" Yashiro in the same way as Hakubo and Sumire? It's a possibility.

He has to stop himself from doing that. Which brings me to another point that people don't really like to think about

Hanako's relationship with Tsukasa.

Have you ever stopped to think? Tsukasa is Hanako's yorishiro, and if Nene doesn't remove Tsukasa's seal, will Hanako have to "eat" Tsukasa too?

Tsukasa seems to be looking forward to it.

What kind of relationship did these two have?

I won't delve into that now, let's get back to Nene and Hanako.

Their relationship is troubled, not only because he is supernatural and she is human, but also because of the way this relationship develops. There is a supernatural side to dealing with "love" and "desire" that we don't know about, but which is dangerous.

Hanako desires Yashiro in human form (sexual) and also in supernatural form (hunger), he wants her in the same way that Hakubo desired Sumire. Hakubo was supplying both, wasn't he?

It could be the same thing with Yashiro, it will depend on Hanako and how much he can control himself, which side of him will speak louder? the human side or the supernatural side?

This is the question he fears so much, he is afraid of his supernatural side, and the proof of this is the desire he has to remain sealed because he can control himself.

Hanako's human side wants to touch every part of Yashiro's body, wants to take her as a wife, wants to give and feel the purest pleasure with her, but the supernatural side actually wants to consume her, wants to devour her.

Which of these sides will be able to win in the end?

It's like I said, everything always begins and ends with a wish.

Sure! Hanako have too much to work with, since he is the main character, so I’ll focus on the thing I love the most about him: His inexperience when it comes to caring about others.

Hanako put up thick walls between himself and his peers, rarely connecting to others, be they humans or supernaturals.

Helping students and keeping them safe is his duty, his punishment to atone, not something he personally wants, his own personal view is far more ‘cold’, Amane’s empathy was destroyed after he became a supernatural, beaten down after sixty years of being dead.

What he tells Kou here is true.

He has shown time and time again, people’s life isn’t particularly important to him,  he’ll exchange one life for another without guilt for the person he doomed because of personal preference, and had destroyed yorishiros since the start of the manga, knowing of the danger of doing so, for his own gains.

Before the manga story starts, Hanako is alone.

He plays with the other mysteries but he doesn’t consider anyone his friend. He keeps a distance even from Tsuchigamori, unaware Amane’s moon rock is his old teacher’s yorishiro and seemingly not talking to him much, only looking for Tsuchigomori when he needs him for something.

He is apathetic to practically everything, drowning in his own misery: Tsukasa is the only one that can break him out of his apathetic state, and he terrifies Hanako. Even though he is the titular character, we never see Hanako’s boundary because he doesn’t want to face his yorishiro, finding it much easier to hide and spend his afterlife in the bathroom instead.

Tsukasa was important to Amane, and while he is important to Hanako as well, Tsukasa is rarely perceived as his brother, his presence is mostly treated as the personification of Hanako’s guilt. Hanako hasn’t tried to understand Tsukasa’s feelings or expressed worry about his well-being: out of all his comflicting emotions, his priority is usually to look away.

Hanako has spent his afterlife in this limbo of running away and not connecting with anyone, but eventually, he met two people he got very attached to: Kou and Nene.

He loves them a lot, much more than he loves himself.

He will try his very best to face Tsukasa, the embodiment of the trauma he has been running away from, to keep them safe.

Most of the time, Hanako fails: he is too terrified to act, he panics.

He can’t help when Tsukasa is his oponent.

Even outside his past, there are still things Hanako can’t help with.

The guilt and panic and pain of having no use for someone he wants to help hurt, but Hanako doesn’t run away from this pain.

He tries to help anyways, to reach out as best he can.

And Kou’s trouble linger in his mind, when the kid gets depressed again, Hanako try to help him again.

He want Kou to feel better.

He may have said “He is kind of like you, isn’t he, No.2?” but he doesn’t care about Yako or her attachment to Misaki, his attention is on Kou the second he finish his request: interested in his reaction, not her feelings.

He is selfish though, he cares about their feelings, but he mostly listens to his own, which is most obvious to see with Nene.

In the clock keepers arc he mentioned he kept Nene’s lifespan secret because he wants her to live her best life in blissful ignorance, but he doesn’t make her the priority, he makes himself: He is aware she hates toilet duty, no one enjoys being forced to waste their evenings cleaning a bathroom, but he likes it.

He rarely enjoys things, so he can’t let go of it. He can’t sacrifice this hint of joy for the sake of Nene living “her best life”.

He adores spending time with her, and since he has very little self-worth, he is convinced she would never spend time with him by her own volition, he needs to use the cleaning duty to keep her close.

Is why he gets so happy when she calls him a friend.

This love, this care, is something Hanako really wants from her.

But is also something Hanako doesn’t think he deserves.

He can get frustrated by how much they love him, by how distorted their view is, as if he is a ‘good ghost’. He loves their kindness but he feel greedy for it, he loves their optimist but he is constantly looking down at them for it.

He loves them but he hates himself. So he sabotage himself.

He tells Kou and Nene point blank his bad traits “I am dead already. I don’t care if someone dies or not.” “I killed someone and you shouldn’t excuse it” “I am selfish, I care about you Nene, and not your best friend.” are things he only tell Nene and Kou, as if he was screaming. “I am not a good ghost!” even if he will never  tell them “Leave me alone, stop visiting me.”

Hanako is constantly fighting between clinging to what he loves, regardless of how much his behavior hurt them, and telling himself he should want them away from him.

Both of his attempts to save Nene involved being away from her, either trapping her in picture-perfect until she forgot about him, or exchanging Aoi’s lifespan with Nene’s, saving her but making it so he can’t see her again, and she would eventually forget about him.

The more Hanako's love for Nene grow the bigger the lengths he is willing to go for her, even if at it core, his love remains selfish, he knew Nene wouldn’t be happy with his solutions, but he doesn’t care, cause she will live, and she will live by his own hands.

He acts like doesn’t know why he does this a lot of times:

And to some degree, he truly doesn’t know.

Hanako has many mental blocks when it comes to admitting vulnerability, even to himself. He looks anguished when he confesses to Nene that he wants her to live.

Hanako never had a wish, not outside his “wish” to atone, which he constantly refears to as punishment, not something he personally want, just something he deserves.

 Even as Amane he had given up on his wish.

So wishing for Nene to live is a very new feeling.

This wish makes him go against his duties as No.7 and his quest to ‘repent’, but he can’t even care because he really wants her to live. And is not like going against “god’s will” is what trouble him, since he destroys yorishiros the second he got the chance.

He just want her to not die that much. He can no longer deny he is smitten with her.

We can see this all consuming care with Kou too, even if it is more subtle it’s still very present, and just as impactful in his afterlife.

Nene is someone he loves but very rarely rely on, she is his special someone, he’ll go above and beyond to do what he believe is best for her, ask anyone and even if they disapprove of his actions, they can’t deny he cling to her, always ready to rescue her.

His view on Kou is different, he is someone he ask to fight and help. Is not that he doesn’t trust Nene, not exactly, but he had the “I’ll keep you in the dark mentality” from the second they met, while he never planed to treasure Kou, he just saw enough potential, or use, in this exorcist kid to occasionally rely on him.

Hanako plans for Kou only involved a vague “he can exorcise me later” idea, but he ends up genuinely caring about Kou after he stand up for him agaist Teru in the young exorcist arc. 

It’s no longer just “this boy is so funny! I can both make fun of him and use him”, now Kou is his friend.

Just compare how he treats Kou when he is in Yako’s boundary, and in Hell of Mirrors.

He has gotten the habit to be more honest with Kou, he is always counting on him on little things when they are together, and it hurts so bad when Kou fail, because Hanako trusts him, and he hasn’t trusted someone in such a personal way in 60 years.

Hanako is more comfortable hating himself them his friends, so he usually doesn’t let his dissapointment in Kou linger. Focusing most of his negative thoughts on himself.

Kou isn’t infallible, but he is the one Hanako trusts the most. Hanako used to trust Kou almost blindly, holding on to the feeling, but once he was let down, he gets so hurt, he resents the feeling.

He is a contradictory character. It feels like he hate Kou at times and is frustrated by Nene, but he can’t stop caring about them. He only got attached to two people, he can try, and he will, but he can’t pretend they aren’t important to him.].

We know Hanako lingered in Mei's fake world because his deepest wish is to be human with Nene. So even though it is a big red flag for Nene to see “Amane” in her class, the supernatural couldn’t resist playing pretend.

Just for a bit, just for a taste of a normal life with her.

He is consistently selfish and irrational when it comes to Nene. He can’t let go.

His view on Kou is less frenzy but he can’t be discarded either, the kid is the other half of his reason to want to be alive after years of just accepting his death.

He have made up his mind about not going anywhere, he still refuse to follow the crew to Mei's exit, to the moon, but he wants Kou and Nene to always come to him.

Cause even thought Yashiro was his focus, and Mitsuba took most of Kou’s time, Hanako does make it very clear he want Kou there. He even try to knock Kou out like he did with Nene the second he notices Mitsuba failed to distract him.

He risked Kou being in this world, indulged Mitsuba in his dream to be human and live a normal school life by the side of friends, which is a wish Hanako has shown to actively disapprove of in hell of mirrors (and is the very same wish that Hanako have expressed to have in this arc), because Kou is part of it.

His motives for wanting to trap Kou until he lose his memories are unclear but his anger towards Kou for giving him hope after years of nothing only to realize he can’t back up his promises to make Nene live is all over picture perfect.

And Hanako is a coward, he get angry kou want to stop him, discount his anger on Mitsuba, doesn’t explain anything, take Nene, and leave Kou confused.

Hanako only loses his patience and tell how he feels when Kou is in his way, and Hanako needs to beat him if he wants Nene to stay.

The one thing that he’ll always prioritize above all else is Nene after all.

There is a certain determination to only focus on Nene after picture-perfect, not take Kou as seriously.

And what kills me is that Hanako’s attempts to distance himself are very half-hearted.

It fails.

No matter how real his anger and dissapointment, his care is just as real, if not more so. He is still eager to play fight with Kou and spend time with him. Their overall trio dynamic isn't affected.

Is always “Nene” and “Kou” and “everyone else”. Even when Kou isn’t in the scene, Hanako thinks of him.

There is this idea Kou is important, an implied “If I can’t save Nene, Kou will be the one to save her”, even with all the reasons and proof he has that Kou can’t do something as big as alter her fate, part of him still believe Kou can do it. Is a part of him that is illogical and Hanako hates it, and doesn’t want to deal with it.

So he focus on Nene's lifespan, he became obsessed with it.

He has always been possessive of Nene. In any chapter they are together he is touchy and flirty and so openly attached to her, it’s insane!

He knows he is in love.

He also knows he is the ghost of a dead killed and feels like Nene deserves better than what he has to offer, but he can’t let her go.

Even when he is determined to grant her wish, to make a ‘no turn back’ decision, his determination crumbles the second they are face to face, his logic dies and he is just... Happy to see her again.

Even if he knows his plans failed, even if he knows she will die, he just... like seeing her.

His love is openly selfish and doomed to not last, which is something he understands and doesn’t know how to deal with, but just like he can’t force himself to truly hate Kou and stop believing in him, he also can’t force himself to stop loving Nene and desperately trying to find ways to make her live.

Hananene headcanons

-Nene wanted to get Hanako up to date with music so she made a playlist called through the ages. Nene puts it on when she is cleaning and hanako just sings and dances. Hanako shows Nene music from the 60s he liked.

-Hanako loves science and space so he helps Nene with physics homework. Nene is hopeless at science so he helps her bring her grade up

-The two of them love horror and romance films so they watch them together. Tsuchigomori will find them a quiet spot to watch a film. Nene gets scared and will hug on to hanako. Hanako just laughed at scary bits but will be scared later.

-they love showing affection to eachother. Hanako can't touch people so he loves showing Nene affection. He loves playing and styling her hair and hugging and kissing her

-Hanako's love language is physical touch or quality time.

-Nene's love language is gift giving and word of affirmation

-they know slightly more about relationships than Mitsuba and Kou, but only by a bit

-When they first start dating Nene realizes her relationship is never going to be a normal one, she thought she would be disappointed but she loves hanako.

-Tsuchigomori knows a lot about their relationship because Hanko will just fan about how pretty and talented his girlfriend is.

TBHK Lore is a very interesting topic that raises a lot of questions in our minds. Among those asked questions are: How did Hanako, or should we say Yugi Amane, changed his fate? And that, my fellow Tumblr users, is the question we will try to answer or better put, theorize about in this post. 

So, without further ado, How exactly did Yugi Amane changed his future?  

In the red house, remember that time when Minamoto Kou told little Tsukasa that Yugi Amane died when he was 13 years old, after he murdered him?

Well, that is pretty much how Amane’s future changed, began, the second time. Let me explain. 

As stated by Tsuchigomori, Amane's future was supposed to be becoming a science teacher at the school, correct? But what if that wasn't the case to begin with? That, the real fate for Yugi Amane is that as a result of his weak body, he dies at the age of three, a few weeks or a month (if he was lucky) after this happened.

But, since Tsukasa made a wish to the so-called God under their house, Amane's fate changed and he had the chance to grow up and be a science teacher. As for the price of his wish, Tsukasa stayed inside the house without anyone knowing. Thus, changing his brother’s future. The first time.

Everything you’ve read, should've made sense from that point on, but… since Tsukasa still is inside the red house, Amane still had a future, wouldn't that mean all the stuff that's happened in the entire manga shouldn't have never happened nor even existed? Then Kou and Nene wouldn't have met little Tsukasa in the first place, but they did. So how did Kou and Nene meet little Tsukasa despite the fact that an Amane that has a future still exists? The timeline is clearly messed up. 

However, if we ignore that for now… It would mean Amane’s future changed Three times. 

First was Yugi Amane’s true fate, which is for him to die at the age of three due to his poor health. Next is the future where he was going to grow up and become a science teacher as a result of Tsukasa’s wish. Lastly, is the future where he killed his brother and (likely) himself when he was 13 and then became Hanako-san, because little Tsukasa came back after being ‘missing’ for more than half a year after their 4th birthday.

In other words, it wasn't Amane who changed his own future, it was his brother Yugi Tsukasa. 

I believe this is what Aidairo was trying to show in the red house arc, how Amane’s fate was changed or to be more precise, how Tsukasa changed his brother's future, two times.

Getting back to the hole in my theory,  I'm still at a loss and can’t come up with any explanation. But I do have a speculation. Remember my “Was it destined” post? (If you haven’t please don’t check it out there were a lot of holes,  it was more like a speculation than a theory, to be honest) I think Fate played the strings here yet again.

For the reason that Tsukasa tried to change Amane's true fate. Fate returned to ensure he still died at a young age, despite having lived a few years longer than he was supposed to. In the end, Amane and Tsukasa both suffered the consequences for trying to change his fate so instead of succumbing to illness without committing any sins, Amane died by stabbing his brother and then himself with a knife, for reasons we still not know yet. What’s clear though is both of them paid the price…

Still it’s just a speculation, who knows why and how the two timelines both exist at the same time. But one thing’s for sure I think I can confidently say that my theory is true. Even with that one hole in it that isn’t solidly patched up yet.

I don't know how many aus I have tbh ahah

The fanart I do the most are for a canon compliant au where all mysteries know each other and have a found family relationships :0 so this is basically interactions that never happened in the manga but take place in the canonverse so this is kind of an au ahah

and tbh that’s once again mostly shitpost. Most of my posts you will see here will be in this ‘au’

The one I am the most known for is MysteryFamily au (peopel tends to confond my fanart in the canon verse with this one ahah and I can understand ^^)

This is an au where everyone is alive and where Tsuchigomori adopted all the mystery kids when they were around 5 y.o. They all live in a commercial alley where they have a library/toy library and where everyone know each other.

Nene is the new girl coming from the countryside to live in the big city and who will live just in front of the Fujishi (their family name -> it means mystery aha) and will discover her absolutely super excentric neighbors and will have no other choices but to let them destroy her peaceful life. 

It’s motsly shenanigans, with the most siblings energy I could create

(And Amane and Akane share a room this is really important)

They all share one braincell and this is just shitpost over shitpost. This is motsly just cute and stupid but everything I love in a happy au yay

 AfterLifeCity au which actually got some fanart and conceps (I mention it because even if I never draw or talk about it, this is still one of my fav au I ever did :D)

It’s an au where Nene dies and ends up in the underworld. And after being tricked by the 7th Lord of the city, she has to work with him to get all the Lords to work together to take good care of the deads.

I will maybe one day redo their designs because I don’t like them much now but here you go yay

It was mostly an excuse to draw backgrounds and cool character designs (and Akane smiling lol Akane forgot all of his previous life and is now known as the sunshine boy of the city, Kyô)

And Hanako’s shadow is Tsukasa he pretends he never sees.

God’s blessing

So..... I shall commit to the ultimate vulnerability: a completely off-the-wall sort of theory that doesn't have solid canon basis, and is basically just me throwing shots into the dark. There's things I desperately want an explanation for, which nothing I currently have down can address.

Just bare in mind this may as well be a fanfiction proposal, for how baseless it is! But maybe it's fun or interesting, and makes others want to try to think of their own solutions or answers to some gaps in the canon.

It can't all be grounded.... some theories come from..........the heart ♥

*I begin playing you a song on the hurdy-gurdy*

So..... let's imagine (already going too off the wall for most people) Tsukasa is a God, now Amane's yorishiro, and trapped in his boundary, much like Sumire was trapped in Hakubo's. People can come in, but he cannot go out without help and effort... typically. It would be a helpless position. Even if Tsukasa were the very well God, the yorishiro system is built to disperse that power, and he is reduced to an object as much as the scissors or rock.

At some point, Tsukasa met Sakura, and they formed their plan to destroy the yorishiro, and return the power to its original source.

But what was step 1? I need to start at addressing something that drives me, personally, crazy:

Why was Tsukasa so much weaker than Sumire, at the start of the series? Sumire, with the help of Hanako and Nene, can leave her boundary, and wander about the school without trouble.

Tsukasa could not leave the boundary until a sufficient amount of yorishiro were destroyed... it took an involved degree of preparation, set-up, and he quickly and easily was dispelled by only Nene-chan throwing water, even with 2 yorishiro returned to him (Yako + Tsuchigomori’s). It isn't as simple as him having a little power now, and walking through the school up to the roof; they have the Mokke move his paper crane into the donut bag, in order to get him all the way to the roof. Tsukasa's body was, for some reason, weaker than the average kaii.

Tsukasa is a uniquely weak entity, to start, and only plot progression sures him up into something substantial (until he surpasses essentially everything). Even Mokke are free to roam the school. Why?

Mitsuba, brought back from his piece of mind, is that weak. He's unable to leave boundaries. But that makes sense, for Mitsuba, something cobbled together from scattered bits. Sumire and Tsukasa are both ancient souls filled with vivid regrets. So why was Tsukasa so incredibly weak, as to be comparable to Mitsuba, and not Sumire, the person ostensibly in a more equivocal position to him?

and that’s where the extrapolation into my nonsense begins .... maybe part 1 of Tsukasa's plan, involved removing a piece of himself, just like he did to Mitsuba. If Tsukasa can reach into a kaii and pull out a fragment of their personhood-- their mind, their reason, their whatever-- maybe he could do that to himself, and gift it to another.

I doubt, at the very least, that this situation will be the first and only time we see this occur. 

That (pulling out a piece of himself) would be an interesting commitment to make, and would prove to Sakura that he is reliable, ready to endure anything, taking their plan seriously, and not only messing with or undermining her. Especially if Tsukasa patiently endured existing in a trapped, weakened state for a long duration... he could prove a lot through his chosen vulnerability. So, Tsukasa removes a piece of himself-- where does he put it?

Maybe he gave that piece to Sakura, and that was what bound them. Buuuuuut..... that's not actually my preferred theory, though it's completely possible. I think given Sakura's long existence, established presence in association to the Mysteries, she's likely something extant as a semi-magical being long before meeting Tsukasa, and her meeting him at all relied on that special aspect of her. She was bound to the school for 100 years as it is. I don’t think Sakura is in need of a boost. Though I recognize the possibility.

Instead, my theory is that he gave up a piece of himself-- perhaps his conscience, perhaps his compassion-- to reincarnate into a part of Nene-chan.

Nene-chan has powers and abilities beyond those we have a term or explanation for. She has a natural ability to purify, she can alter the Mysteries through pulling yorishiro, she can jump through time and alter the future (Tanabata). Not usual for a kannagi. Not really usual for anything.

Even the well-God was seemingly bound to its position, and served balanced exchanges to humanity. Only by combining with Tsukasa does the well God become something beyond that which is established in this world.... ... so maybe the same could be done to Nene-chan, at her birth. A combination being which unites kaii with human. 

Nene-chan has at least been described as blessed. You can read a little more about this fortune here, and fold that into this hypothesis.

It would be interesting if Nene-chan was functionally blessed by God, granted a small sliver of a divine power. Maybe that's why her name references '8'-- tying her to the 7 mysteries, which each contain 1 small fragment of the God's power. Making her in some sense, an 8th mystery, if we define them as pillars God appointed and blessed with power. It would be sweet of Tsukasa to fracture himself to barely-extant weakness, in order to reach out to the world, to try to bring salvation and peace to Amane.

I would imagine yorishiro Tsukasa is a desperate creature, if he wants to help Amane. How can he, from there?

Here’s a post I’ve already written trying to analyze what we’ve got to go on, with Sakura and Tsukasa’s relationship. With that basis.....

Maybe 15 years ago, Sakura stumbled into Tsukasa's boundary, and got to know him. Maybe that Tsukasa was a different sort of person from what we think of as ‘Tsukasa’, thoughtful and conscientious. But Sakura alone may have lacked any meaningful power to really help him, or herself. If Tsukasa gave up a piece of himself into the world to reincarnate, that would place him into a position of having to wait 15 years until Nene-chan finally crosses over into the picture, which would be a novel amount of time for Sakura and Tsukasa to familiarize. I've proposed before that Sakura and Tsukasa seem to have more familiarity between them than the just-recently-men Hanako and Nene-chan, though of course, that's just a hunch. Sakura at the very least trusts Tsukasa, so I assume she has great reason to do so.

I guess for me, this theory would satisfy:

Why Tsukasa begins the series so weak

Why Sakura implicitly trusts Tsukasa

Why Tsukasa has a screw loose

Why Nene-chan is holy

Why Nene-chan’s number is ‘8′, help

If Sakura could witness why Tsukasa is this way-- a bit 'off' and animalistic-- maybe she would have more patience and understanding towards it, and not let it color her perception of the person he originally was; having seen whatever he was like before, and having known he chose to become this, and entrusted himself to still do what had to be done. If only 1 portion of Tsukasa was removed-- like Mitsuba's 'mind'-- whatever was left behind is at least capable of commitment. Maybe what he selected to go was something he knew would not truly impede him.

I guess if I had to guess something, I'd say Nene-chan was gifted with Tsukasa-kami's 'conscience'. Tsukasa lacks a concern for general well-being, and now has the capriciousness to let curiosity drive him to cut open a living fish, or to see those around him as toys to recreate his fav childhood movie, or to desire to see another eat fireworks. Maybe not feeling any of that lends him the ability to not feel rejected or hurt when others claim he's annoying. Perhaps he's always been childish or a bit stunted as it is from his lifetime of periodic isolation, but.... clearly what's going on now with him is a surprise to Amane, who's known him his whole life:

Another small thing is, AidaIro are very protective of the Tsukasa from 4-13. When picturing events from that time period, Tsukasa's face is often (there are brief exceptions in the in-manga snapshots in vol 17 & their Kamome entrance photo) obfuscated-- we cannot often see his expression, or what sort of expressions he would make. We have yet to hear this boy speak at all. We don’t know how he may talk.

Maybe he wasn't the trapdoor-mouth often-smiling boy we know now. Maybe he was more contemplative or worrisome. Maybe Amane was more of a guiding and encouraging older brother, the sunshine between them.

I'm open to anything being possible for Tsukasa and Nene-chan....

if I'm being honest just on the raw level: this would also satisfy the way relationships work in this manga. In this way, Tsukasa and Nene-chan's experiences with Amane would all become united and shared in some way, owed to each other. Development for one would imbue the other with significance. Amane loving Tsukasa, and loving Nene-chan, would intermingle and both would validate the other’s existence in his life. Neither would overshadow the other.

It's not an unprecedented concept, in stories at all... This manga shares so much in common with Inuyasha, themeatically, and in that series, Kikyo and Kagome share a soul. Kikyo died, and a small portion of her soul reincarnated into Kagome, who then is drawn to Inuyasha. Kikyo is remade, but lacks some crucial piece of her, and is a more chaotic and cruel being as a result. At the end of the day, Kagome being blessed with Kikyo's soul grants her similar powers to Kikyo, and makes her romance with Inuyasha feel a bit cosmically-destined, and also absolves us of feeling too horrible about the ‘loss’ of Kikyo’s place in Inuyasha’s life, as she is still there, as Kagome. His first love is the same as his current love, but the convolutedness enables shenanigans and intrigue. 

That said, I think if this were true maaaaybe some people would hate it, or feel it removes Nene-chan's agency, or robs her of being her own person, buuuuuuuuut..... that reeeaaaally isn't true for Kagome/Kikyo, who I feel fans interpret meaningfully as different people, and the story conveys well as different people. I think Nene-chan could still very well be her own person who developed in her own life, but merely be a little blessed. 

Maybe I'm insane, but these panels always feel like the entire manga freezes to bold and underline something:

I think if this were true it would be hilariously embarrassing for Amane, to have to fold in all of his reservations with telling Tsukasa and Nene both I Love You into one ball. If he had to admit to loving both at once and in the same manner.... indeed, every gesture shared with the two of them would feel overlapping. I think life would feel like a giant pie in his face. All of his hair would fall off of his body. Maybe he could finally feel weird about how immediately and obsessively he sexually harasses Nene-chan. 

Tsukasa and Nene are easy to conflate, at times! In Amane’s eyes! It would be delicious if he had to deal with a real gut-punch. Hehe.

TBHK Analysis: Ch. 95

Woohoo! SOME MEAT AT LAST. Not as much as I was hoping for? But still, some nice juicy bits of trivia to poke at. 

Some notes before we dive:

* Hanako’s still missing one of his hitodama. Yeah, I know, this is like The Key at this point, but I think it’s worth keeping track of.

* The biggest question I had at the end of this chapter is this: Why is Sakura so keen on only telling Yashiro facts when Tsukasa can’t hear her, when everything she’s said thus far seems to align with goals she shares with Tsukasa? Because really, he seems more than happy to tell nene all about his and his twin’s bloody past. He’s been quite open about his desire to ‘break the world’. He seems genuinely eager to be destroyed as a yorishiro. So what, exactly, is it that Sakura wants Tsukasa not to hear?

Okay. Now. DIVING IN.

* The first thing we see is Sakura saying she’s basically getting ‘how to act around underclassmen’ from books. She’s been trapped in that school a hundred years, and she doesn’t know how to act around underclassmen? I find that more than a little fishy.  (My own personal pet theory right now is that Sakura is the thing that the villagers of old were sacrificing kannagi to, and that the Wonders have been keeping her bound in the school. She’d be powerful, but not terribly knowledgeable, and very keen to get loose.)

* We don’t know HOW, yet, but we now know that Akane, Teru, Aoi and Kou made it out of the boundaries. We don’t yet know if they live. I just want to say that. Sakura only says they ‘may’ have returned to the mortal realm, and that if they did, then Yashiro and Aoi’s lifespans will switch back. Sakura also wouldn’t be able to find them if they all died. But as telling Yashiro that would probably cause her to lose her emotional grip, Sakura has good reasons not to say that. We’ll probably know for sure soon (relatively speaking), but either way the decision’s been made. Schrodinger’s box has been opened, we just don’t know the actual results yet.

* FAN THEORY CONFIRMED: TSUKASA IS HANAKO’S YORISHIRO. More than that, we are told why the yorishiros are what they are, which explains a lot about Hanako’s behavior toward his twin. No matter what Tsukasa may do, what harm he may cause, Hanako cannot bring himself to hurt his own yorishiro. But Six proves, as Sakura points out, that just sometimes a Wonder will snap enough to be willing to utterly destroy their own yorishiro. I don’t see Hanako being able to do that, though. Not to the extent Six did. Stab Tsukasa? Yeah, I can see him being pushed enough (again) to do that. Obliterate Tsukasa? ...No, I just don’t think so. So yeah, Yashiro’s needed for this.

* Little note: I was actually kind of happy, that Sakura mentions why the ‘moon rock’ became Tsuchigomori’s yorishiro. He does care about his students, and Amane was ‘the student he couldn’t save’. I hope we see old Tsuchi again sometime. He’s probably the only spider I’ll ever actually like.

* Your lifespan is supposed to expire when the yorishiro of every school mystery is destroyed. Let’s unbox this a bit, shall we? 

- Firstly, there’s the idea that Sakura put forth that doing this would in some way ‘destroy the world’. If so, then yeah. Destroying the yorishiro would kill Yashiro and everyone else in some decent sized radius. I am still in a lot of pain so I am just fucking around and having fun until I feel well enough to properly write again lmao (maybe I'll do a "taking care of you after surgery" series and go full self-indulgent haha). I think the hardest thing for me about tier lists is that I am so full of love that putting characters in anything but S tier is really hard for me? I know it's silly haha

I DO see the wonderland from through the looking glass as one au, so I take both versions into consideration^^ (although they can be separate if I wanted the cast to be different) and Disclaimer it's a lot more fun of a idea of you've at least read the first book; Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

so I like the idea of Kou being the Cheshire cat! because if suites him very well(also it's one of the only wonderlandians that try to help Alice(not that he isn't rude and the Cheshire cat also doesn't make sense but yk)[also AidaIro's take on the tea party we had in our canon timeline and making it the mad tea party was so amazing!])

and of course, Nene is our Alice in wonderland. that's classic!

Hanako as the white rabbit stays, because he truly is just leading her farther into the thick of the supernatural world, and lead her to the tea party! so he stays as the white rabbit.

Sumire is the Duchess! it just suites her so well I couldn't tell you why (but not the ugly part! Sumire will be a drop dead gorgeous Duchess variation lol)

of course Tsuchigomori is the caterpillar ok??? it's common knowledge!

ok so The white Knight is Teru(my beloved) and our Red Knight is Akane(my beloved) and for those who are unaware (looking at you Mar-Chan👀) the red and white knight are constantly fighting, they're on opposite sides! and I think they fit them well in an au spin, the red knight even scoops up Alice (Nene lmao) as a "capturing" gesture and Alice is brought back down to the floor by the white night, imagine how love struck she would be if Teru saved her from madness like that! she'd be head over heels, only for him to continue his fighting with the red knight after, not giving her enough time to properly thank him. although the white knight is depicted as falling over consistently I do not imagine the white knight, Teru would let that happen! but I do think white knight Teru would bore her by talking of his paperwork and siblings. yes and also to add to the TeruKane their issue in challenge is a fair fight! and they're both stubborn, but can respect each other, ok read this with the lenses I just gave you

TeruKane would definitely want to see each other fall on their heads! anyways moving on

I couldn't tell you why, but the White Queen is Aoi ok?? she has PICNICS WITH NENE COME'ON also is helping her! but with how Aoi isn't the nicest she's always moving too fast and not really caring for Nene. also so fun to have Akane and Aoi on opposite sides, ya?

as for the Red Queen, she is Mirai! she's our apposing chess side but she is quite nice to Alice and even tells her how to succeed and play the game, but Alice sees her as the person who started the mischief, and blames her, but she really didn't do much, but is still part of wonderland, so yk their not the most straight headed.

the Queen of Hearts is a hard one....I couldn't actually place a character as the Queen of Hearts, of Kou wasn't the Cheshire cat I'd put him as Queen of Hearts, because the queen of hearts is really the nicest person in wonderland....

Nene would probably tell him your birthday is coming up rather than you

She also told him that you didn't want to celebrate it

It confused him

You didn't want to celebrate your own birthday? But it's the day you were born!

He would then wish you happy early birthday and cling onto you for a while

When you start to act like your birthday is no big deal he gets confused

It's your day! what's so wrong with it???

He will try and make this clear to you and say that he has something planned for you, but you shoot his idea down

You mention how you didn't want him to get into too much trouble to get you a gift

You also mentioned how you wished it wasn't your birthday and how you didn't want to grow up

Ohhh now he sees

Well time to ignore your request and celebrate your birthday anyways

He will spend hours thinking about the perfect gift for you, I mean he has the time too

He will then force Tsuchigomori to buy gifts he thinks you will like

Tsuchigomori will only do this because Hanako's his boss

And he thinks you two are a cute couple, but he will never say that

When your birthday finally comes everything is all set up

As soon as he sees you he jump hugs you and wishes you a happy birthday

He will place a birthday hat on your head and tell you he has the whole day planned out

Hanako will also give you a bouquet of flowers from the school garden

After every class, he will give you a small gift like a delivery boy

These include jewelry, your favorite candy, and some other cute small things for you

At lunch he will have a whole meal of your favorite foods prepared for you

Kou definitely helped with this

You two will have an enjoyable lunch and he will tell you to meet him at the garden rather than the bathroom after school

That's where you see a little bench with a big present sitting on it

Ballons were attached from the bag with little doodles on them with black marker

You approached the bag and looked at the tag, it had your name on it.

"Happy birthday" Hanako said from behind you, and you turned to him. His hat was off, and he had a soft smile on his lips "It's for you"

"Hanako.. You didn't have too-" He interrupted you before you could finish.

"No, I wanted too" He states as he sits on one side of the bench. "Open it!!" You couldn't help but smile as you sat on the other side of the bench, opening the bag. You first took out a card with some poorly drawn people on it which you assumed was you and him.

"I tried to get Shijima to help me draw something nice on the card, but I guess that didn't really work out hehe..." Hanako giggled as he insisted you to continue. You opened the card, and it had another portly drawn picture of you holding a birthday cake with the words 'Happy birthday' spelt out above your head.

"Thank you, Hanako" You smiled as you put the card next to you, you continued to open the bag. You pulled out a snow globe with a small you and Hanako in it. It also had more of your friends in it. You felt your heart warm up by this gift.

"Hanako, how did you do this?" You asked, in shock to see a gift like this.

"I got a lot of the wonders to help me with this! I can't take all the credit!"

You continued to examine the snow globe. Hanako was sitting on a little rocket ship with the words 'happy birthday' spelt out on the ship.

"Do... Do you like it?" Hanako asked but you quickly hugged him.

"I love it, thank you..." You muttered to him "This has been the best birthday ever"

He was already getting ready

He was going to surprise you

You tell him you don't really want a birthday dinner or anything and he says it isn't

After he feels bad because he just lied to you, it is a birthday dinner-

He had to get you to come somehow-

Once you arrive, he tries to make it as normal as possible

You will notice that he made your favorite meal and dessert

Kou, Teru, Tiara, and you will eat dinner normally like if you were to come over to his house any other day

but what you didn't know is that to them this isn't a normal day

After the meal they will bring out a cake with a happy birthday sign written on it

And this is where you realized Kou lied to you

Don't worry, he will apologize about it later-

Kou made the cake himself, of course, and it's your favorite cake

That's when Teru and Tiara give you their gift, making you wonder what Kou got you

Teru will later tell you about how much effort he's been putting into your birthday and how he's been planning this for basically a month

He did this so you would say something like "Kou's such a sweet boyfriend, I love him so much, I wanna marry him!"

He didn't think about how bad you might have felt because of it

After you finish eating, Kou will take you upstairs to his room

"Kou..." You stopped walking and held onto his hand "I told you, you didn't need to celebrate my birthday"

"But it's your day... why wouldn't you want to celebrate your birthday?" Kou turns to you, now a bit worried that he messed up.

"Honestly, I don't want to get older. The thought is scary, and my birthday just reminds me of that.." You confess "And you put so much work into my and I feel bad"

Kou finally understood why you didn't want to celebrate your birthday. It made sense now.

"Y/n, I'm happy to put all this effort into a amazing person like you, you deserve all this and so much more!" He smiled "and we are always going to get older and grow up, we can't stop that.. but when we grow up, I will be able to marry you!" You blushed at his words as he opened his room door to reveal his room with balloons filling it. There was a banner that said 'Happy birthday' and your name under it which he wrote himself with marker. Each balloon has writing on it, some saying 'I love you' and other saying 'happy birthday' and other sweet things. He led you to his bed and sat on it.

"Happy birthday!!" He handed you a present. You unwrapped the present to reveal a box. You opened the box to reveal a blanket. This wasn't an ordinary blanket; it has pictures of a bunch of memories you two made together.

"Kou, this is so sweet!" You smiled as you snuggled into the blanket, it was really soft.

"Oh, I have one more thing!" Kou passed you a box of little cakes from this expensive bakery.

"Kou! You don't need to spend much money on me!" You scolded.

"But I just knew you would like them!" He took one in his hand and raised it up to your mouth so you would take a bite. You reluctantly did, melting to how good the dessert tasted.

"That's the best thing I ever tasted..." You say in awe.

"I'm glad you like it!!" Kou smiled. You pulled him into the blanket with you, hugging him tightly

"Thank you for doing this Kou, I am really grateful.." You cuddled into him which he quickly returned.

Unlike you Someone was concerned and that was your boyfriend Hanako he knew about you being sleepy but now you were barely standing so he had to do something, Hanako flew over to the teacher who just so happened to be Tsuchigomori-sensei his teacher back when he was still alive, when you weren't paying much attention Hanako whispered something to Tsuchigomori and after doing so Tsuchigomori started looking for something.

"Mx.[L/N], I forgot to bring my textbook please go to the staff room and bring it to me"

You left the classroom and started walking towards the staff room before you noticed that Hanako grabbed your hand.

Hanako thinks it's adorable how sleepy you can be, he likes using it as an excuse for cuddles.

When he first met you he probably was worried you don't get enough sleep, but when he found out you were genuinely sleepy he calmed down a little

Hanako would have a little sleeping place under the window sill if you came to the bathroom sleepy he would take the blankets and pillows out and put it under the window sill and sit on it watching you sleep peacefully or sleep with you

When Hanako was alive we probably had a similar problem like you being always tired, but only because he stayed awake watching the stars though he did break that habit he sometimes would still do it

He probably asked Nene or Kou to buy you a plushie that can stay with you if he's at a meeting or with a little fear asks the Mokke to look after you while he's at it

Though sometimes he might take you with him and the rest of the supernatural will look at him holding you while you sleep they find it hilarious that he could be talking about something dangerous but then just look at you and peck your forehead before he continues

When Hanako was alive he used to sing a lot for Tsukasa if he couldn't sleep so if you can't sleep he gladly sings you something probably a song from back in his times if I had to say which one it probably would be "a fallen star" by Jim Reeves

If you are hungry Hanako would probably try to steal some food from the cafeteria and pray that Teru won't find him if he will Hanako will process to explain everything while yelling hoping Teru won't kill him and Teru probably won't

* He’s the person you go to when you want new places to paint since he’s been to a lot of aesthetic places to take pictures

* He likes to challenge you sometimes thinking he can paint better than you can getting a little too cocky, but you shut him up when you end up beating him

* He encourages you a lot

* He’s always giving you loads of compliments when you show him your latest piece

* And every time you start painting he’s cheering you on, hoping you do a good job and get the outcome you want

* You don’t even have to ask this man to model for you, he always knows when you need him

* When he models for you he tries to stand as still as a rock he doesn’t want to mess the painting up for you somehow

* You have to tell him that he doesn’t have to stop blinking

* Always has a list of ideas of what you can paint he even checked them all out for you, so he can tell you the place he recommends the most

* Will try to save up to buy you the most expensive paints and paint brushes

* You reassure him that he doesn’t have to spend loads on you, but he insists:

* “Your amazing y/n and you deserve the best, so you can keep on painting those amazing art pieces of yours

* Will ask Teru to pull some strings, so your art work can be displayed around the school

* Since he thinks it will give you inspiration because space is very beautiful and mysterious, which might be what your missing

* Any pictures you paint for him he will make Nene and Kou hang them up for him in his bathroom

* Might steal your paints while your in class out of boredom

* And use them to doodle on Nene’s face in class

* He’s going to get it later.

TERU MINAMOTO

* He’s always ready to help you with your painting when he’s not busy with student council duties

* If you ask him to be a model he will gladly do it

* But it will be hard to get any painting done since loads of people will be crowding around to watch him model

* And after there will be loads of people begging you and fighting against each other for you to give them the painting you just did of him

* Most of the time Teru likes to just stand there and watch you paint

* Especially after a stressful day since it seems to calm him down

* Will ask you if you’d paint some posters for the student council to hang up around school since they might help bring up the morale of students when there walking to their next lesson

* Will also compliment you on what a good job you did

* He will also try to cook some lunch for you as a thank you, but ends up blowing up the kitchen

* So he just buys you some flowers instead

* If you ask him to paint with you unsurprisingly he is really good at it

* He’s took a few art classes before and remembers a few basic techniques from them

* So he can paint basic pictures and patterns

* But he’s still not a patch on you though

* Might ask you for some lessons, so he can improve.

YAMABUKI LEMON:

* Isn’t aware that you paint he’s to busy looking on his phone

* While your painting he’s just standing unaware of his surroundings looking at his phone

* He probably doesn’t even know he’s in the art room right now

* You ask him what he thinks of your painting

* “It’s great y/n”

* “Wait, you paint” looking up from his phone shocked he actually looks at your painting

* “Woah, this painting is actually pretty cool”

* He then goes back to looking on his phone

* At least he finally knows now at least

* If you ask him to model for you he usually says

* “Yeah, sure” with out even knowing what he’s agreed too

* Until you take and hide his phone and tell him he can’t get it back until you’ve finished painting him

* So he just stands there waiting for you too finish your painting of him

* He looks like he’s about to fall asleep, almost falling over with his eyelids drooping down

* After you finish his painting, he decides to take a look

* Might as well since you’ve took his phone away

* He actually thinks it looks really nice and you did a good job

* When he gets his phone back he takes a picture of your painting and sets it as his phones Lock Screen background

* So now that he knows your good at painting when he’s next to you on his phone in the art room he starts looking up a few times

* Very subtle though just, so he can get a few glances at the new painting your working on

* Because your painting is really cool.

NATSUHIKO HYUUGA:

* Always telling you that your painting’s really good

* Tries to convince Tsukasa to let him hang some of them up in the broadcast room

* Gives you some advice on how to make your paintings even better

* Albeit it’s not always the best advice, but he’s trying his best to help you

* If you need his help with anything he’s there straight away

* Can’t carry your easel

* He’s already took it out of your hands

* Might drop it though from trying to show off how strong he is

* If you need him to model for you he’s there straight away in his signature pose

* You will have to remind him to relax a bit since he’s being to intense

* Just because you asked him to model doesn’t mean he has to stand in a pose that’s really hard to keep your balance in, you don’t want him falling over

* Will ask Sakura for information about the art of painting and different painters

* So he can impress you with his knowledge if you ever talk about it to him

* And it’s a bonus if you praise him on how much knowledge he knows

* Natsuhiko will also practice some painting in secret, so he can impress you with his skills later on

* Will practice all night or however long it takes him to make a painting you will love and give it to you as a present.

Tsuchigomori Ryūjirou:

* When he has spare time after teaching he comes to check on you in the art room

* And likes to sit and watch you paint

* Other times he’d be reading a book while your painting your latest picture

* It’s also really peaceful and a good place to get away from people that annoy him

* If you ask him to model for you he will say no unless you give him something in return

* Eventually he will tell you that he’s just kidding and was curious to know what you’d do

* Then he will model for you

* He’s actually quite patient and makes little complaints

* Well, to some extent if your taking way too long might ask you to hurry things along a bit

* Since he has other things to do

* Might ask you to paint him some diagrams, so he can use them for his next class

* Since they might make the class more interesting

* If your running out of space to store your art he might let you store them in his boundary depending on the size of them.

On the outside he might look uncomfortable, but it means a lot to him that you trust him enough to see him as something as important as a father figure

He gives u a small smile whenever you call him dad

When he notices that you’re copying him, he can’t help but laugh whenever you do

He jokingly makes fun of you and even gives you clothing that’s similar to his so you can both match

Sometimes even gives you little spider themed items

Laughs when he sees you have little paper butterflies in your lunch box but then stops when he sees you put the paper in your mouth
