Carnations for the Reincarnated: Part. 1

“M… Michikatsu… You’re here…”

He held her as he looked down at her.

He was to late…

How could he have been to late…?!

He was only gone for a few hours…

Yet a demon got her…

“I’ll never leave again…” he whispered to her.

“The carnations… You… You got me… They… They’re beautiful this year…”

With that, she took her dying breath.

In her husbands arms…

The demon sighed as he looked up at the moon, her face was all over his mind again… How could he keep thinking if her…

This woman… Was nothing to him…

She was a useless human woman from his life as a human.

Yet why did he think of her nightly?

Why was she consuming his very mind as of late… he hadn’t thought of her in decades…

Not when he saw her again…

When he lost her again…

It was as if the universe was punishing him... When he did nothing to deserve such treatment.

His master didn't care if he had a little plaything as long as he finished his duties and did what he told him.

Yet the moment he had her, she was taken away just as quickly.

He didn't find it very fair...

But he wouldn't see her again...

Or so he thought...

“Finally… It’s gone!” The demon slayer said happily as she watched the demon slowly turn to dust.

“Bye bye forever now!” She said with a smile before she placed her sword back. “Ah… A new assignment…” she mumbled as her crow landed on her shoulder.

“Near a village close?” You mumbled before smiling as uou hummed.

“Very well… We should go…” you said, a gleam appearing in your e/c eyes.

You were just a young demon slayer, a tsuguko for the flame hashira…

You were passionate about slaying demons, saving humanity, knowing you were giving up your life…

You didn’t mind…

You just couldn’t predict what was coming into your life…

You looked around as you gripped your sword.

The demon was here… it was here!

You smirked to yourself as you heard the swish.

“So you’re fast…” you mumbled as you swung your sword.

Your eyes widening as the demon grabbed your blade, six eyes staring at you.

That symbol…

This was…

No-!

You were going to die…

Your life flashing your before you before the demon opened its mouth.

“…. Y/N.”

Ehe this one may be just a bit self indulgent (//▽//) I love Yoriichi sm so have this little drabble!!

It was late.

You should’ve been asleep by now, you wanted to be asleep by now. Even when your heavy eyes fluttered shut no dreams would appear. You were stuck in an endless loop of sleepless nights and exhausted days. You were fully aware your husband would be upset when he found how brutal your insomnia had been lately, but you definitely weren’t expecting him to respond in the way he did.

Yoriichi Tsugikini was a quiet man who severely lacked emotion. You had married him nonetheless despite him being so peculiar. As a swordsman who fought in the dead of night, he’d often appear at random times that were untrackable. Sometimes he came home at the brink of dawn, sometimes he got done earlier and arrived just past midnight. He was always a quick worker, as he clearly wasn’t fond of being away from you.

The shoji slid open, exposing the pitch black outdoors. Yoriichi silently entered as he began to slip off his scarlet colored haori - his eyes showing not a single tint of emotion. He detached his sheath and sword just as quietly as he discarded his haori. He wandered to your shared room, footsteps tranquil so as to not disturb you.

A flash of burgundy hair entered your vision accompanied by the shine of Yoriichi’s classic earrings. Even in the soft dim lighting you could see the obvious discomfort on his face when he realized you were up again. Being married to Yoriichi made it easier to read his expressions and what they all meant, despite them all being quite unintelligible.

“Apologies, did I wake you?” Yoriichi’s tone was intimidating to most but seemed so warm to you, a familiar voice that could always bring a smile to your face. You glanced up to him drowsily, a gentle upturn of your lips appeared despite your circumstances. “No… Not at all. Don’t worry about it.” You responded in a weary voice much to Yoriichi’s concern.

He said nothing for a few moments before sighing and lowering himself down onto the futon, hands trailing up to your cheek. “I understand I cannot just ask you to sleep,” His brows furrowed softly. “But is there anything I could possibly do to assist you?”

A light blush painted your face from his considerate words. You laid your hand atop Yoriichi’s, who was busy cupping your cheek. “Can we maybe cuddle?” You chuckled sheepishly, admiring Yoriichi’s tender touch. A seldom smile brightened his face that simply caused you to melt.

“I was already intending on doing so.” He planted a gentle kiss on your forehead, strong arms wrapping around your torso. You nuzzled into Yoriichi’s broad chest, his heartbeat steady and calm. His serene actions gave you a sense of comfort. As if your sleeping problems didn’t exist. It didn’t matter if you didn’t doze off with the way Yoriichi’s cozy and warm body snuggled up to yours.

“I love you, my sun.” Was the last few words you heard as you drifted off.

Yoriichi with a girlfriend who's a foot taller than him

Yoriichi is already tall as hell, being around 6'3" or something, so him finding someone who's a foot taller than him? That's just crazy😨

To start this off, Yoriichi probably wouldn't be one for any other woman due to the fact that he has only loved his late wife, Uta. So, if he actually did have another lover, he definitely wouldn't be in a relationship until so long after since he still was grieving not only for his late wife, but for his unborn child as well.

Even if his new girlfriend was taller than him, he was still much stronger whether she was a demon slayer or just a random civilian. Which means, he would be the one to protect her no matter what her height was.

Taller people have a larger frame, meaning that they can have a higher body mass than shorter people. This does not mean that she is stronger than Yoriichi, this just means that she is a strong woman and can take care of herself. However, during the night is another story. He would refuse to leave her side at night, or leave for a longer period time or farther away, thanks to his fear that she would get killed by a demon just like his late wife and unborn child did.

There wouldn't be too much of a difference if she was shorter or taller than him to be honest. The main would be that if there was something that he needed to get, she could be the one to reach up and get it for him even if he still could have anyway.

Taller people produce more body heat then shorter people, so I want to imagine Yoriichi using her as a source of heat, even when it's not needed. Although, most of the time, it might just be him wanting to be closer to her.
