of all people to test, tsukishima was not one of them; especially on the night that the sendai volleyball team was hosting a formal.
you in your pretty little dress, seated right next to the refined blonde—short his glasses this evening, instead swapped out for contacts and an all black suit—, were so perfect, keeping a watchful eye on your posture and tone of voice while in the presence of such opulent volleyball figures.
you turn to meet your painstakingly handsome fiancé, cursing him for how good he looks clad in black. "how's the wine, kei?" you ask, well aware of the answer.
he sets his glass down, taking extra care to not clang it against the table. "i'm trying my hardest to not wince at the taste of it." he lowly says with the hint of a smirk pulling at his lips. "i'm sure you aren't doing to well with it either though, princess. last time you had wine you were crying on the bathroom floor with my shirt because you thought you 'lost me.'"
"oh please, that was one time! i can handle a little red wine... and don't try to act like i don't notice you clenching the fabric of my dress with every sip you take, hypocrite." you reach ahead of you, grabbing a full glass of water. "have some."
"as if this will help," he takes a sip, "it feels like i've been served straight rubbing alcohol."
you giggle at his quip, "oop," you gently place your hand on the edge of the glass, "don't spill, kei." suddenly speaking just loud enough to where he could hear your faint whisper, you were too focused on the task at hand to realize the intimacy of your actions, "we don't need to be crying on the floor with my shirt now, do we?"
its by the grace of god that he didn't throw that very glass across the room and run out the door with you in his hand. something in the tone of your voice—or perhaps just the hushed, innocent nature of which it came across—made him flush a furious claret, similar to the repulsive beverage that may or may not have contributed to the slow heat rising to his cheeks.
after quickly recovering from the affect your words had on him, he sets the water down on the table as his hand slides underneath the tablecloth and onto your leg. his head dips down, lips dangerously close to your ear as his head is now hidden from the rest of the guests.
"oh, but we could be, princess," he softly mutters, "wouldn't that be fun? 'could put on a show for everyone—you'd like that now, wouldn't you angel?"
and just as quickly as it happened, it ended just as fast. his stature returned to his normal posture as if nothing happened; as if the most sinful words didn't fall past his lips. one thing stayed, though; his hand kept it's place on you underneath that table for the rest of the night.
Tumblr media
iwaizumi had just gotten home after a long day at practice, walking into your shared home with a huff as he sets his bags down. moving into the kitchen following the faint smell of cooking, he finds you above the stove with shorts and a tank top on, tied together with a pretty little apron hugging your figure.
"ah, welcome home, haji!!" you drop the utensils from your hand and run up to welcome him with a tight embrace.
he receives your affection as a small grunt slips past his lips at the impact. "well hello, angel," he revels in the way you fit against him, then quickly remembers that he's a sweaty volleyball trainer who hasn't showered yet. "ah, hold on, let me go shower-"
"let me run it for you," slipping out from his arms, you flip the stove off and move the empty pan to the sink, "i haven't actually started cooking yet so it can wait."
moving across the kitchen to where you keep your aprons, your back faces the worn out iwaizumi as he watches your hands slip behind you to undo the bow that was so neatly tied. but, uh oh, it seems as though it's accidentally gotten all knotted up-
"oh gosh.. haji, can you come help me with this? i think- i think it's stuck.."
its a mystery as to why something so innocent could possibly effect him this way. ...helping you untie the knot on your apron? this does not prompt him bending you over the counter in any instance. ever.
he tries his damned hardest to swat the indecent thoughts bubbling up in his mind away as he makes his way over to your struggling frame. it was so hard not to just fold you over right then and there; your hands behind your back, your hair up and out of the way... it was all too perfect.
he couldn't help the way his hands instinctively slid beneath the rough fabric of the apron, feeling the supple top under his calloused fingers.
"you know, doll, i had such a long day," he says lowly as his hands find their way around your body, "would you mind... helping me out a little?"
the unexpected movement and actions of your lover catch you by surprise, a sudden warmth beginning to pool. "oh, baby- i haven't even started dinner y-"
"aw, but it's okay, pretty. i'm not too hungry, anyways," he turns you around to meet his gaze, a look you know all too well at this point in your relationship. your head lifts as you reach up and graze his lustful lips with yours in a feverish kiss as he undoes the problematic knot at the small of your back, an action he's a bit too familiar with as his skillful hands waste no time.
needless to say, dinner was neglected and the shower was (fortunately) postponed.

The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the city skylines where Y/N and Tsukishima's love story began. It was a place filled with memories and promises, but today, the air was heavy with uncertainty. Tomorrow was meant to be the day when Y/N would become Tsukishima's wife, the day they had eagerly awaited and planned for. Yet, fate had a cruel twist in store.
Y/N had always been a girl of hope and dreams. Growing up, she had always believed in love and soulmates. Her engagement to Tsukishima was supposed to be a fairy tale come true.
When she first met Tsukishima, Y/N couldn't help but be intrigued by his stoic and reserved demeanor on the volleyball court. It was a chilly autumn afternoon, and they were both participating in a local volleyball tournament. Y/N had always been drawn to the sport, and she eagerly observed the players, seeking to learn from their techniques and tactics.
As she watched the matches unfold, her attention was drawn to a tall and lanky tall young man in the middle position. Tsukishima's movements were precise and calculated, and he displayed a level of skill that impressed even the most seasoned players. However, what caught Y/N's attention the most was the intensity in his eyes and the way he seemed to keep his emotions tightly locked away.
Curiosity got the better of her, and during a break between sets, Y/N decided to strike up a conversation with him. "You're an excellent middle blocker. Your blocks are on point."
Tsukishima glanced at her briefly, his expression remaining impassive. "Thanks," he replied curtly.
Undeterred by his reserved response, Y/N continued, determined to break through his shell. "I've seen you play a few times before. Your techniques are impressive. How long have you been playing volleyball?"
"Since elementary school," he replied tersely, not offering any more information.
Y/N sensed his reluctance to engage in conversation, but she was determined to connect with him on some level. As the tournament progressed, she made small efforts to strike up conversations during breaks, asking about his favorite plays or how he got into volleyball. It was a slow process, but Y/N's genuine interest and friendliness gradually began to chip away at Tsukishima's guarded exterior.
Over time, they found themselves exchanging more than just volleyball-related conversations. They discovered shared interests in books, music, and even silly jokes that would elicit a rare chuckle from Tsukishima. Y/N learned that beneath his aloof façade, he had a dry wit that matched her own, and they found comfort in each other's subtle sarcasm.
As their conversations grew more frequent, Y/N noticed that Tsukishima's walls were starting to come down. He seemed more at ease, even cracking a genuine smile from time to time. Y/N was thrilled that she was able to break through the barriers he had built around himself.
Tsukishima's childhood friend, Asami, became a part of their lives too. They were the three musketeers, but little did Y/N know that the bond between Tsukishima and Asami was deeper than she imagined. They even had a lighthearted marriage pact with Asami, Tsukishima's childhood friend, that if none of them were married by the age of 30, they would marry each other.
But life took a different turn when Y/N came into the picture. Tsukishima and Y/N's connection was undeniable, and they fell in love deeply and irrevocably. Their love seemed to transcend the bounds of their childhood pact, and they decided to get engaged, looking forward to a lifetime of happiness together.
As the soft evening light streamed through the curtains, Y/N found herself lost in a whirlwind of memories. The room felt filled with echoes of laughter and whispered promises as she reminisced about the journey that led her to this very moment. Her fingers gently traced the delicate gold band adorning her finger – the engagement ring that symbolized the love story she had always dreamed of.
It was a lazy evening, and Y/N had decided to surprise Tsukishima with a visit to his home. The knot of anticipation tightened in Y/N's stomach as she approached Tsukishima's house. Tomorrow was meant to be the day of their long-awaited wedding, and she had come over to surprise him with the final touches they had planned together. A warm smile graced her lips, and she couldn't wait to see the look on his face when he saw the arrangements they had made.
However, as she pushed the door open, her heart plummeted to her feet. Right at the entrance, a pair of unfamiliar women's shoes lay neatly placed, catching her eye like a glaring beacon. Her mind struggled to process what she was seeing. Thoughts raced, but she couldn't deny the sinking feeling in her chest.
An unsettling sense of dread took over as Y/N stepped further into the house, her footsteps echoing in the silence. "Tsukishima?" she called, hoping for an explanation, hoping that she was wrong.
What Y/N saw shattered her world into a million pieces. There, in the dimly lit room, stood Tsukishima and Asami, their hands intertwined as they gazed into each other's eyes with a tenderness that was meant only for lovers. Y/N's breath caught in her throat as she tried to comprehend the scene before her.
Her voice quivered as she walked through the house, and the sight that met her eyes was a painful blow to her heart. In the living room, there they were – Tsukishima and Asami, sitting close together, their hands intertwined, their faces far too close for Y/N's comfort.
The room seemed to spin around her, and she clutched her chest, trying to steady her breath. Her vision blurred with tears, and she took a step back, unable to bear the betrayal before her.
Asami's eyes widened with guilt, and Tsukishima's face turned pale, realizing that their secret had been exposed. Y/N took a step back, her mind racing, desperately searching for an explanation or a reason that could justify what she had just witnessed.
The damage had been done, and Y/N could hardly bring herself to look at either of them.
"I-I can't believe this," Y/N whispered, her voice trembling with hurt and disbelief. "How could you do this to me, Tsukishima?"
Asami looked equally guilty, her eyes filled with remorse. "Y/N, we never wanted you to find out like this. It just happened, and we never meant to hurt you."
Y/N felt a mix of emotions – anger, betrayal, and heartbreak. Her whole world felt like it was crumbling around her, and she struggled to find her footing amidst the chaos of her emotions.
Tsukishima reached out to her, his voice filled with regret. "Y/N, please, let me explain. It's not what you think. It was a mistake, and I never wanted to hurt you."
"How can you say that?" Y/N choked out, tears streaming down her cheeks. "You knew how much I loved you, and yet, you chose to betray me."
The words hung heavy in the air, and the pain was palpable. Y/N turned on her heels and ran out of the house, feeling like she couldn't breathe. The world outside felt like a blur, but she kept moving, seeking solace and clarity amidst the chaos in her heart.
Y/N found herself standing on the same beach where she and Tsukishima had once shared beautiful moments. The waves crashed relentlessly against the shore, mirroring the turmoil in her soul.
She clutched the engagement ring on her finger, a painful reminder of the love and dreams that had shattered. The future she had envisioned had crumbled into pieces, leaving her heartbroken and lost.
At that moment, she didn't know what to do or where to go. But as she stared out into the vastness of the ocean. As Y/N stood on the beach, gazing out at the vast expanse of the ocean, she felt an overwhelming sense of despair. The crashing waves mirrored the turmoil within her, and she was torn between holding onto the love she once believed in and the pain of the betrayal that had shattered it.
Tomorrow was meant to be the day she had dreamed of – the day she would marry Tsukishima, her soulmate, and start a new chapter of their lives together. But now, it felt like all those dreams were being thrown away, lost in the depths of the ocean before her.
Her mind was a whirlwind of confusion, anger, and heartbreak. Part of her wanted to confront Tsukishima, to demand answers, to try and salvage what was left of their love. But another part of her knew that the trust had been broken, and nothing could ever be the same again.
As the sun set on the horizon, casting a warm, orange glow across the water, Y/N sank to her knees on the sand. She clutched her engagement ring tightly, feeling the weight of its symbolism in her hand. It was a symbol of the love they had once shared, but now, it felt like a painful reminder of the love that had been lost.
Her heart ached, not just for herself but for everyone who had been excitedly preparing for the wedding. Friends and family had come together to celebrate their love, but now, it seemed like it had all been a facade.
She closed her eyes, feeling the tears welling up once more. It wasn't just the wedding she was mourning; it was the future she had imagined with Tsukishima – the laughter, the shared dreams, the moments of love and understanding.
As Y/N stared out at the ocean, lost in her thoughts, a figure caught her eye in her peripheral vision. Turning her head, she saw Asami running towards her, her face etched with worry and concern.
"Y/N!" Asami called out, breathless as she reached her side. "I've been looking everywhere for you. Are you okay?"
Y/N felt a mix of emotions at the sight of Asami – the woman who had been at the center of the painful revelation. Part of her wanted to push her away, to demand answers, but another part yearned for someone to lean on in her moment of vulnerability.
Tears welled up in Y/N's eyes, and she turned her gaze back to the ocean, unable to meet Asami's gaze. "How could you?" she choked out, her voice trembling with hurt. "How could both of you betray me like this?"
Asami's face fell, and she knelt beside Y/N, her voice filled with remorse. "I know I can't justify what happened, and I never intended to hurt you, Y/N. It was a mistake, and I regret it deeply."
Y/N's heart ached, torn between wanting to hear an apology and wanting to push Asami away. "A mistake?" she whispered, her voice filled with bitterness. "Do you have any idea how much pain I'm in right now?"
Asami reached out to touch Y/N's hand gently. "I can't undo what happened, but I'm here now. Please, let me try to explain."
A part of Y/N wanted to turn away, to shut Asami out completely. But another part couldn't help but yearn for closure and understanding, as painful as it might be.
Taking a deep breath, Asami began to speak, her voice soft and remorseful. "It started out as innocent , Y/N. Tsukishima and I have known each other since childhood, and we had this marriage pact. But as we spent more time together recently, old feelings resurfaced, and we made a mistake. I'm so sorry."
Y/N listened, her heart torn between anger and sadness.
"Why didn't you both tell me?" Y/N asked, her voice trembling with emotion. "You were both going to let me marry Tsukishima without knowing the truth?"
Asami looked down, her guilt evident in her eyes. "We knew it was wrong, and we wanted to stop, but we were scared of hurting you even more. It was selfish, and I regret it deeply."
Y/N took a deep breath, her heart heavy with conflicting emotions. "He's got you on a pedestal but me in his arms," she uttered, her voice barely above a whisper. "Is that how it was all along? Was I just a place holder for him?"
Asami looked down, her gaze filled with guilt. "I can't speak for Tsukishima's feelings, Y/N. But I do know that you mean a lot to him. He loves you, but he also made a terrible mistake."
As Y/N stood there in front of Asami, clutching the engagement ring tightly in her hand, her tears fell like raindrops on a stormy night.
Just as she was about to speak, she heard a familiar voice call out her name. Tsukishima emerged from the shadows, his eyes filled with a mixture of sorrow and regret.
"Y/N, please," he pleaded, his voice cracking with emotion. "Give me a chance to explain."
But the pain within Y/N was too raw, too overwhelming to bear. "Explain what, Tsukishima?" she cried, her voice breaking with each word. "The lies, the betrayal? There's nothing left to say."
Tsukishima took a step closer, reaching out as if to touch her, but he hesitated. "I know I made a terrible mistake," he said, his voice choked with remorse. "But please, let me try to make it right."
Y/N's heart ached, torn between wanting to believe him and wanting to shield herself from further pain. "How can you make this right?" she asked, her voice filled with anguish. "You're engaged to me!"
As Tsukishima looked into her tear-filled eyes, his own filled with pain. "I was a fool, Y/N. I let my fear and confusion cloud my judgment. I never wanted to hurt you, but I let my emotions get the best of me."
Tears streamed down Y/N's cheeks, and she shook her head, unable to find the strength to forgive him just yet. "Why did you even ask me to marry you," she whispered, her voice barely audible above the crashing waves.
Tsukishima stepped closer, his desperation evident. "Please, don't throw the ring away," he implored. "It meant something once, and I want the chance to prove to you that it can mean something again."
In that moment, Y/N's heart wavered, torn between the love she had once shared with Tsukishima and the pain of his betrayal. The memory of the happiness they had once found in each other tugged at her heartstrings.
Summoning all the courage she had left, Y/N shook her head, tears falling like raindrops. "I can't, Tsukishima," she said, her voice resolute.
The weight of the engagement ring on her finger felt suffocating, a constant reminder of the shattered dreams and broken promises. Tears streamed down her cheeks, and she knew that she couldn't carry the burden of that ring any longer.
With trembling hands, she removed the engagement ring, the symbol of a love that had turned to betrayal. As she held it in her palm, her heart ached with the weight of the decision she was about to make. She looked at the ring, its delicate gold band gleaming in the fading light, and she knew that it no longer held the same significance it once did.
With a mix of pain and determination, she flung her arm forward, releasing the ring into the vast expanse of the sea. It glimmered for a moment in the sunlight before disappearing beneath the waves, swallowed by the ocean's depths.
As the ring vanished from sight, Y/N felt a sense of pain wash over her.
The sea seemed to embrace her grief, its vastness swallowing her sorrow.
As the ring disappeared beneath the water's surface, Y/N felt an overwhelming emptiness engulf her. The tears kept falling, and she knew that walking away from him wouldn't erase the pain she felt.
Her heart shattered into a million pieces, and the world around her seemed to blur into a haze of desolation. The love she had once believed to be eternal had crumbled, and she was left standing on the precipice of a dark and unknown future.
With a heavy heart, she turned away from the sea, Asami and Tsukishima, feeling the weight of the world on her shoulders. The beach, once a place of happiness and laughter, now held only memories of betrayal and heartache.
Days turned into weeks, and the ache in Y/N's heart showed no signs of subsiding. The pain of betrayal lingered, leaving her feeling lost and adrift. She tried to keep her distance from both Tsukishima and Asami, seeking solace in the company of friends who were always there to support her.
One evening, as she was going through old messages on her phone, Y/N stumbled upon a post. It was a picture of Tsukishima and Asami standing together, their arms wrapped around each other with smiles that felt like a cruel twist of fate.
As her eyes widened in shock, she began to scroll through the messages and discovered the truth. Tsukishima and Asami had indeed gone through with the wedding, sealing their love just a few hours after Y/N's heart had been shattered. They didn't want all that money and venue to go to waste and just like that her dreams were stolen from her.
The revelation hit Y/N like a tidal wave, knocking the breath out of her. It was a betrayal on a whole new level, as if the universe was conspiring against her, mocking her pain. The two people she had trusted the most had found comfort in each other, using their deceit to validate their actions.
"How could they?" Y/N whispered, her voice cracking with disbelief. It felt like a knife through her heart, adding salt to the wounds that were still raw and bleeding.
The sense of betrayal and hurt overwhelmed her, and she felt a mix of anger, sorrow, and confusion. It was as if the world had collapsed around her, and she found herself questioning everything she once believed in.
At that moment, Y/N couldn't see a path forward. The pain was all-consuming, leaving her feeling lost and broken. She wanted to scream, to demand answers, but the bitter reality was that there were no answers that could mend her wounded heart.
In the distance, the sun began to set, casting a melancholic glow over the apartment. As darkness descended, it mirrored the darkness that had settled within Y/N's soul.
Grief washed over her in waves, as she mourned not only the love that was lost but also the future that could have been. She pictured the life they had planned together – a home filled with love, laughter, and children, growing old hand in hand.
But now, those dreams lay shattered, scattered like fragments of glass on the cold ground. The pain was all-consuming, leaving her feeling adrift and lost in a sea of sorrow.
Y/N felt as if her heart was like an artist's scrapped work discarded in the trash bin. The pain of the shattered love was akin to the pain of watching something she had poured her heart and soul into being tossed aside, unappreciated and unwanted.
The canvas of their love story, once filled with vibrant colors and promising strokes, now lay in ruins, torn apart by deceit and betrayal. She could almost see the paint splattered across the floor, an abstract representation of the chaos that had consumed her emotions.
She had invested so much in this masterpiece, carefully adding each brushstroke with love and hope. But as fate would have it, the canvas had been marred beyond repair, leaving her feeling like an artist who had lost her way.
Her memories served as a painful reminder of what could have been – a love story that was meant to be cherished and admired. Instead, it had been abandoned, a casualty of human flaws and weaknesses.
She felt like a shell of her former self, her spirit bruised and battered. The red strings of fate that she had once believed in now felt like a cruel joke, a reminder that love didn't always lead to happiness.
Fate had played a cruel trick, entangling her heart with the wrong person, and how she was left to untangle herself.

[12:34]– Enemies to lovers w/ haikyuu boys!!
Tumblr media
hello, after 5 months, it's soulx here. I'm sorry I wasn't active lately, too many things are going on, I'm about to change schools AGAIN. thank you for still being here with me you guys, I'm on 450+ followers I DON'T DESERVE YOU ALL😭❤️
warnings: gender neutral but there's a word 'pretty', enemies to lovers, a little angst at the end? hot boys, bad writing, proof read (I think)
Tumblr media
Truth to be told, he doesn't hate you, but that doesn't mean you don't hate him. He acts like the meaning of his life is to annoy the hell out of you. Oops, he spilled his coffee on you, why? Because his hand slipped. Taking notes? Trust him to scribble on them for no apparent reason. Eating lunch? He'll eat your lunch with you, literally. You're having a presentation? He'll embarrass you by asking questions you don't know the answer to. Going on a date? Oh dear, he'll stare at you for a long time before asking 'Why?' and you'll stare back at him and ask 'Why not?'. There'll be a long silence before he answers, 'Because I'm here, there's no need to go on a date with a boy you barely know,' he pouts, eyes averting away. After staring at him for some time, that's when you realized that he wasn't annoying you for fun, for his enjoyment or for his satisfaction, but it's because it's only the way for you to take notice of him.
»Bokuto, Hinata, Hoshiumi, TENDOU, Nishinoya, Yamomoto.
War of the Populars. Mister Popular, he's so used to people running up to him, waving at him shyly, giving him variety of gifts and foods. . . so used to people knowing his name. Just for all of that disappearing once you came. People started to forget about him and started fangirling and fanboying at you. What? No! He's definitely not jealous, he's definitely not jealous at how much more popular you are and how much your fanbase is bigger than his, no he's definitely not jealous. Well, ok, maybe he is. He went up to you and angrily confronted about the issue, voicing his concerns and worries and even going as far as demanding you to transfer to another school. . . and to stop being so pretty? His anger boiled even more when you just smirked and sashayed away. If that's how it is, then so be it.
»Oikawa, Atsumu, Futakuchi, TANAKA
Volleyball rivals. He always looks down at you, always thinking that he, the all mighty volleyball king, is better. You hated it, you hated feeling so small as he glares down at you. In training, the both of you would always play to your max as if playing for the nationals. The two of you would always have an one on one match. The two of you would always race to see who is faster, you would play for a very long time to see who has a better stamina. The two of you will always play volleyball so roughly, bruises started forming on your arms. But when you broke your ankle and started crying? He'll be so worried and would start comforting you, rubbing your back and whispering in your ear how much of a good player you are, how he admires you, how much he looks up at you. And that's when you noticed something else stirring in your heart, right when he smiled softly at you.
»Ushijima, Kageyama, KYOTANI, Aran, AKAASHI, Iwaizumi, Kindaichi.
Academic rivals. You're a very hard working student, always on the teacher's good side, always have straight A's, a student council. But that's not enough, you're always the second best. Who's the best then? Ofcourse, it's him. He'll be so smug as waved around his test paper with a 97% mark. You'll be so pissed, scoffing and scrunching up your 94% marked paper. The two of you always have debates in the classrooms, saying that your answers is right but it'll always end up with the both of your answers wrong, and the two of you will glare at each other. One afternoon, you happily went up to him, paper test on your hands, almost tearing it apart in excitement. "What's your score?" You asked. He hid his paper under his desk and stared at you softly. "95%," He answers. You squealed, jumping around the classroom, holding the test paper to your chest, ignoring your classmates' weird looks. "I got 96%!" You laughed at him, shoving your paper under his nose. "Take that, loser!" You happily run out of the classroom and into the hall, screaming at how you finally did better than him, and he'll laugh in amusement, taking out his own paper with a 98% mark on it.
»Tsukishima, Terushima, Kuroo, Yamaguchi, Ennoshita, Kunimi.
Business war. The two of you being entrepreneurs, having your shops across each other. And it's hard, you would go to his shop in terrible disguise trying to steal his customers and he'll always catch you, chasing you outside of his shop with a mop as you laughed to yourself. You're terrible right? No, he's way more worse. He'll pretend to be this elite investigator and walk in your shop like he owns it. Then, he will raise up a finger, slide it over the surface of anything and hold it up again, showing the tiniest speck of dust to your customers. "This is why you shouldn't come to L/N Y/N's shop, very unsanitary," and ofcourse your customers will agree and move to his shop. Because of this it took you a week for your customers to come back on your shop again. But then, for some reason, he started to notice your shop doesn't open anymore for weeks and weeks. Until finally, you came, he excitedly look through the window of his own shop, happy that your back but his smile quickly disappeared. There was a few people who came along with you, you conversed with them and then finally nodding, signing a contract. His heart dropped, your shop will be closed forever and you won't come back. After the people left you, he walked out of his shop and had a normal peaceful conversation with you for the first time. "I- I couldn't handle the shop, I need to close it before something bad happen first," You sighed. To your surprise, he took your hands and smiled at you kindly. "Come to my shop, I'll hire you, I'll pay double if you'd like," Unbeknownst to the both of you, it was just the beginning of your story.
»Osamu, Asahi, Lev, Yaku, Hanamaki, Kita
Social media enemies. For some reason, the two of you battles on who get the most followers, the most likes, the most views, the most anything. He can't let you win and you can't let him either. You went and post a picture of you holding a kitten? Check, he posted himself doing the exact same thing. He did a reaction video? Check, you did it too. The whole school finds it amusing and they even went around and made fanclubs for the two of you. However, when the two of you meets in real life, you'll pretend you didn't know each other. Then scandal blew, it spreads all over the internet that you guys are dating, it was a hit. People kept discussing it on Twitter, people posted badly photo shopped pictures of you and him in Instagram and people kept on posting cringe ship edits on TikTok. Now the two of you are after the clout, so you discussed and planned on fake dating for more. But no hard feelings, no soft feelings, no catching any sort of feelings. Did the plan work? Yes. . . and no. What happened? The two of you became the cutest couple on the internet in a short time. And? The plan backfired, and the two of you are dating for real.
»Suna, Kenma, Shirabu, Konoha.
Opposites attract. That's what they say. But does it really? Because that's not the matter between the two of you. You hated each other to the guts and to the bone and he couldn't believe there's such person like you to exist. He hated the way you're loud, and not to be mean he thinks your laugh is exaggerating, you always try so hard to please everybody, everybody except him. You are the kindest and the most genuine to everybody but to him, you are the exact opposite. You are sweet to his teammates but him. You are the happiest person in the school but when it's the two of you alone, you're annoying and stupid. He hated you. There's so much to hate about you. He can go and on and on for the days and he still wouldn't be finished. But when he saw you standing alone in the rain, face upwards in the sky, hair and clothes drenched, he realized that he's the only one who sees your true colors because he's the only one you trust. He sees you opening your eyes and turning to him, and even when raining he can see tears rolling down your cheeks. You let out a sob as you ran to him, hugging him tight and sobbed harder. He didn't care if you're drenched in rain water, he raised his arms and finally, he hugged you back.

Maybe it sometimes a love is too good to be true.
When you're young you're dumb, thinking that relationships wouldn't be so hard to manage when you are only 16. What was there to be afraid of?
But there comes a time when two people who loved each other too much start to go at war with one another.
That's how it felt like right now.
The happiness, love, and company you adored so much was starting to fade away. There was so much hope you had within you to fix things yet when there's no agreement from both sides, it's a loss cause.
"I told you I was tired today, y/n." He sighed taking a sip from his water bottle.
"I understand. A-and I'm not saying we should do anything after school. I wanted to come and cheer you on during practice-"
Slowly Kei stood up from the ground, a tired sigh escaping from his lips. "You're only going to be a distraction here. I need to concentrate."
Your eyes widened trying hard not to let his words get to you. "How is me being here a distraction?" You questioned. "All I want to do is spend time with my boyfriend."
"Well your boyfriend is too busy training to go to Tokyo." He annoyingly spoke. "You should leave, there's no use in you staying here."
Your grip tightened around the strap of your bag. He walked passed you not saying another word. "Why do you always have to be such an ass?" You muttered making sure he only heard.
Hearing your words made him stop. Some of his team members looked over at you two. They could sense tension between you both but didn't dare to interfere unless it was necessary.
"I'm being an ass now?" He scoffed. "I told you to leave because there was no use for you to stand around. I don't get how being honest is now me being an asshole to you all of a sudden."
"Because you are!" You exclaimed looking him in the eyes. "I've been trying to spend time with you but you kept pushing me away every time. I didn't bother you or said anything because I respected your space!"
By this time it had caught everyone's attention. Coach Ukai became concerned which resulted in him speaking up and it got on his nerves even more.
"Tsukishima she's not a bother, she can stay and watch." Ukai said. "She can even help if she likes, she's your girlfriend you should learn to be a little bit nicer to her."
Kei clenched his jaw tightly the it relaxed as he plastered on one of his famous fake smiles he used on opponents. "You're right sir, I was just saying that she had better things to do than be here. After all we don't know how long practice is going to last and she should go home instead to rest away form here."
You knew of course he didn't meant it. Ukai could see it as well. "Tsukishima she's not your opponent-"
"No." You weakly smiled. "It's fine. Kei is right," you looked at Coach Ukai. "I'll be in the way and won't really be much help. I should go study instead, I apologize for making a bit scene out of this. Sorry for interrupting your practice." You bowed respectful at the entire time.
"Y/n you can stay I'm sure you cheering for him will make him feel less grumpy." Sugawara joked. "Really, stay."
Kei wrapped his arm around you, making you jump in surprise by his sudden warm touch, one that you had been missing for so long. "Sugawara's right you should."
You tilted your head to look up at him. He was smiling but it wasn't reaching his eyes like it used to. If you rejected the suggestion you knew it'd make things worse.
"Okay, yeah just for a bit." You said pulling away from him and walking over to the bench.
"Hey Tsuki?" Tadashi spoke lowering his voice. "I know you've been stressing out about going to nationals but Sugawara was right. Don't you think you're um being a little too harsh on her?"
Kei looked over at you, seeing you smile as you spoke with Nishinoya. It had been a while since he saw you like that and it pained him deeply knowing he hasn't been able to make you smile like that in a long time.
"I don't have time to worry about stuff like that." He coldy spoke. 'Y/n probably won't stick by much longer I don't why I should care when we both know we stopped that a long time ago."
"Y/n is a great person, remember why you fell for her?" Tadashi asked. "You couldn't even stop staring at her during class and waited for her by the entrance every day after school."
It was true. His mind had been over powered by you in an instant. He himself didn't know when he started to fall for you it just happened. It was the happiest day of his life when you accepted his confession and returned his feelings. Being with you was like living in another world. You were the one person he didn't need to put up a facade with, he was able to be himself.
Pushing his glasses up to his nose, he walked back into the court. "We should get back to practice."
Tadashi looked over at you with sad eyes, he knew you deserved better and at times wished Kei would let you go. But he knew him, despite what he says Kei did still love you even if he did act like a jerk.
"Are you sure he didn't brain wash you to go out with him?" Tanaka asked as he drank out of his sports bottle.
"Tanaka!" Daichi exclaimed. "We both know he's not that mean to do such a thing."
"All I'm saying is that being with someone like Tsukishima seems impossible."
"He's not that bad." You said.
"I find that hard to believe." Kageyama mumbled.
"Tsukishima can be grumpy, even more so than Kageyama!" Hinata exclaimed.
"What did you say you dumbass?!" He retorted proceeding to kick him on the side.
"Seriously though if you were my girlfriend I'd be happy to see you every day." Nishinoya said. "Heck I wouldn't even hesitate to show you off and let everyone know how lucky I am to have such a beautiful girlfriend."
You blushed slightly. "That's very nice of you to say Nishinoya. I'm sure your future girlfriend will appreciate that."
"Hell yeah!" He exclaimed pointing at himself. "I wouldn't dream of insulting you or making you feel less. I think anyone with a boyfriend or girlfriend would feel lucky to have a special someone."
Your eyes started to become watery hearing him talk so sweet about someone he hasn't even met yet. You quickly wiped away the tears with the back of your hand.
"I'm sorry!" Nishinoya said. "I didn't mean to make you cry!"
"N-no." You sniffled. "It's not your fault, I guess the words got to me is all."
"Y/n." Kei spoke, making everyone freeze. "Can I talk to you for a sec."
You swallowed down hard knowing well he probably heard Nishinoya talking. You followed Kei, walking to the other side of the gym away from everyone.
He stopped and turned to look at you. "This is why I told you not to come."
"What?"
"I didn't need my teammates to find out how much of a horrible boyfriend I am."
"But I never said that!" You stated. "I-"
"I don't care if you did or didn't but you made it seem like I was. Whatever happened between us doesn't concern them nor Tadashi. I told you that our problems are ours and no one else's."
"Kei-"
"No." He said. "I didn't want to be near you for a reason. I wanted to avoid of all of this happening. If you would have just listened to me then we wouldn't be fighting right now!"
You were starting to get fed up with his attitude, as much as you loved him and wanted to make it work, Kei was turning into someone you didn't recognize anymore.
"Can you just stop making it seem like everything is my fault for a second?!" You yelled.
He was taken back by your sudden change in attitude.
"I've been trying so damn hard to stay by your side and work things out but it's becoming difficult to keep hope for something that doesn't exist anymore." Tears began to form in your eyes. "I love you, Kei Tsukishima despite your shitty ass attitude and how much of an asshole you are. But I'm reaching my fucking limit! I can't stay quiet and hear you talk to me like I'm nothing!"
Something in him snapped he wasn't thinking about anything anymore. His mouth just opened. "If you were suffering with me then why don't you go with someone else who actually cares about you and treats you like a fragile butterfly then?!" You don't need to stay, no one is tying you down or forcing you to be with-with someone like me!"
"Didn't you hear anything I said?!" You retorted. "I loved you enough to stay! Because my ass thought I could at least make you see how bad things have gotten. To fix things together like couples are supposed to do!"
"Don't you see there is noting to fix?!" He stepped closer, closing the gap between you two. "This was a mistake, since the very beginning it was doomed from the start!" His breaking became unsteady. "You need to stop living in your head thinking that this can be saved, give it a rest and just give up!"
One by one, your tears started to escape. Your mind couldn't comprehend how little your relationship had actually meant to him. How every moment you spend together wasn't real to him.
"Why are you hurting me deliberately?" You asked. "W-What did I ever..." You swallowed down hard as tears fell." D-do to you?"
"You." He answered. "I shouldn't have poured so much focus on you instead of practice. I haven't been this stressed since I first joined the team. If I would have known that it would only bring me a headache I wouldn't have confessed."
"So you're saying you regret everything?" You asked him stepping back. "That everything you ever told me meant nothing to you?"
He chuckled dryly, placing his hands on his hips. "I don't need to keep repeating myself. I've told you once already and with the way things are going I figured you'd get it but I guess not."
"You know what?" You softly spoke. "I really wanted to save this... to be like we used to but it's not happening. And I can't try to save something that the person doesn't want."
"So you're just giving up?" He pressed his tongue against his teeth.
"Yeah." You said feeling defeated. "I guess I am."
You walk passed him, sucking in your lip as you tried to keep down the sob that threatened to escape.
But you didn't make it all the way before be spoke again.
"Typical," he said. "Maybe Nishinoya should've been the one to have you."
"Are you kidding me right now?"
"What? It looks like you didn't care about anything when you were smiling your way with him."
"I was only having a conversation with him!" You explained. "I smiled because he had complimented me. Why do you care about that?"
"Because he's not your boyfriend and you're making it seem like you wished he had been!"
"I chose you, Kei!" You cried. "I didn't care about what anyone said about you! I ignored what people said about you being selfish and cold hearted."
"Wow thanks for making me seem like a charity case."
"Would you just stop and hear how much of an asshole you sound like?! No one ever said you were a charity case! I decided to be with you because I loved you. No one ever forced me."
"Sure then you're probably going to go end up in his arms next-*
"Maybe I should." You half smiled.
"What?"
"You heard me." A chuckle escaped from your lips but sadness covered your eyes. "You're probably right maybe this was doomed from the start and who knows being with Nishinoya might have been the better choice for me. Maybe then I wouldn't have to crave compliments from other people since my boyfriend doesn't feel like doing it anymore. Maybe seeking comfort in someone else's arms is better than begging to someone who doesn't love me."
Kei stood quiet looking at the floor with widened eyes. Regret started to run through him, his stomach fell to the ground. Sooner or later you were going to leave but he didn't think it'd be this soon. But then again this was what he wanted right?
Right?
"Why don't we take a breather yeah?" Daichi said. "Before you say something you'll regret in the end-"
Pushing his glasses up to the bridge of his nose, he turned to look at you with glossy eyes. "There's nothing else to say, everything that was needed to be said was said. Right y/n?"
"Goodbye Tsukishima." You said walking out of the gym and not turning around, no matter how much you wanted to.
"Tsukishima, you can take a break if you'd like or go home if you need to." Sugawara said.
"I'm fine." Kei said. "There's nothing else to think about, we have nationals coming up don't we?"
On the outside he looked calm despite what just happened. But the way his body spoke, how much tension he was carrying on his shoulders and hands, said it all. He wanted to scream, scream like he never had before.
As much he wanted to pretend like he was okay, he knew once he was alone every emotion would start to crash down on him like a million bricks.
He lost the person he loved the most and this time there was no other person to blame but himself.

Here’s how Karasuno would help you when you are on your period.
When you told him that you’re on your period he definitely did a whole bunch of research about it so he could help you as much as possible. You definitely started craving something at 2am and he got it for you. He would probably cuddle you when your cramps are super bad.
Asahi, Tsukishima, Ennoshita, and Daichi
He found you curled up in fetal position on the bed and asked you what’s wrong. When you told him he got a bit flustered but understood that it’s natural. He doesn’t let you get up unless you have to pee because he doesn’t like the idea of you in pain. He gets you a heated blanket and cuddles you while you two eat ice cream and watch tv.
Kageyama, Nishinoya, Yamaguchi, Narita
He already knows how to help with your period because he was taught as a kid to help the girls in times like this. He knows that you just want to be cheered up so he kisses your forehead and lets you fall asleep. Once your asleep he goes to the store to buy you favorite candy and some pads/tampons. He puts it on your night stand along with water and pain killers and falls asleep with you.
Sugawara, Hinata, Tanaka, Kinoshita
Tsukishima would probably let you wear his clothes even if they get bloody. The first time that happened you felt so bad and he repeatedly told you it’s ok until you stopped crying. (Hormones suck)
AHHHHHHHH Idk why I wrote this 😭 I hope you enjoyed it nonetheless

Tsukishima Kei x gn!reader
word count: 1k
cws: pure fluff, first kiss, reader has hair long enough to tuck behind an ear
Tumblr media
It was a cold Sunday around the beginning of winter, and you had just finished studying with Tsukishima at the library. The other friends you had invited had left early, so you were studying alone with the tall blonde boy for the remainder of your session. You had often caught glimpses of Tsukishima looking at you in your peripheral vision, his gaze never lingering for longer than a few seconds.
After finishing your final problems and packing up, you both left the library. Stepping out in the nippy air, you observed your surroundings as you waited for Tsukishima who had excused himself to the restroom. The light pink tinted sky was streaked with dark clouds which only seemed to be growing as the sun began to set.
“Let’s go.”
You jumped at the cool voice behind you, breaking you out of your daze. His face remained stoic but his eyes were burning with an unreadable emotion.
Tsukishima walking next to you, shoulders bumping occasionally throughout your walk home. It wasn’t until you were a few feet down the street that you realized he was taking slower steps deliberately to keep pace with you.
“What’s wrong? You look like you just remembered you left the stove on.” your teasing tone cutting through the silence.
His footsteps behind you slowed and eventually came to a halt. You turned around to see Tsukishima standing on the sidewalk, the street lamp making his blonde hair glow with a halo of light. You walked back up the empty street and stopped in front of him, inquisitively peering up into his golden eyes.
“You’re staring again.” you quipped, leaning towards him slightly.
Tsukishima pulled up his scarf and scoffed, the rebounding air fogging his glasses so you couldn’t see his eyes for a moment. “It’s nothing.”
“Bullshit.” you countered immediately, eyes never wavering from his face.
He pulled his scarf back down and shot you a light glare as the fog dissipated from his lenses.
Before either of you could speak, snowflakes began to drift softly. You were so fixated on the boy in front of you that you had failed to notice the clouds gathering as you walked. The sky was fully dark and heavy with clouds as the snow continued to fall, landing on your head and shoulders.
There was a beat of silence while you both tried to process what to say next. You couldn’t help yourself from indulging this beautiful sight in front of you.
His face was slightly flushed with dilated pupils, flakes of snow resting atop the crown of flaxen hair, and beautiful golden eyes studying you intensely through steely frames. It was even more surprising when Tsukishima’s hand came up to brush some stray snow off of your hair with a softer look in his eyes.
You could only hear your heartbeat thundering in your ears as his hand traveled down from your head and moved to brushed stray hair over your ear. His hand lingered as if he wanted to caress your face too, but instead you felt his hand begin to retract.
Without thinking, you grabbed his hand with both of yours and placed it back on your face without letting go. The slight blush on his cheeks had become a solid red flush at this movement, mouth slightly agape as if he were about to retort.
Closing your eyes and taking a deep breath, you stepped forward and closed the gap between your bodies, opening your eyes after gathering your nerves. You continued to hold his warm hand to your cheek with one hand while the other came to rest on his chest.
You softened your grip on his hand, which he kept in place even as you let go. The tips of his fingers trailed back down your face with newfound confidence, reaching your chin which he drew up to meet his eyes. Tsukishima’s golden eyes were searching your face for any hints of discomfort. You slid your other hand up his chest to rest on his shoulder, looking up at him with eyes that silently pleaded ‘Kiss me, please.’
The world around you seemed to freeze as your faces slowly drew closer, eyes fluttering shut.
All you could feel was his warm hands on your face and the soft brush of his lips against yours. The kiss was soft, tentative, and warmed your whole body from head to toe.
You both pulled away slowly, eyes fluttering open while the snow continued to fall.
You couldn’t prevent the huge grin stretching over your face, while you look back up at the tall boy with flushed cheeks.
“Oh, so that’s what you were thinking about.” you teased, trying to distract yourself from the adrenaline rushing through your body.
Tsukishima rolled his eyes and scoffed “Like you didn’t enjoy that.” while his hands traveled down from your face to grasp your hands.
“I never said I didn’t.”
He let out another small huff and turned his head to hide a small smile.
“Let’s go, I’ll walk you home.” He took your hand and you both continued down the street which was steadily piling up with snow.
Once you reached your house, you turned and gave him a tight hug. The blonde boy seemed a little taken aback, but you soon felt his arms snake around you as well.
“Thanks for walking me, call me when you get home okay?”
You tiptoed to give him a quick peck on the cheek before releasing his hand and walking up the stairs to your front door. Turning around one last time, you smiled warmly at Tsukishima and waved before disappearing behind the door.
He didn’t try to hide his smile this time as he waved back. Once the door was closed, he reached up to feel the spot and his cheek where you had kissed him.
“You have no idea what you do to me, (y/n).”

It was a lonely, pitch black night. A small figure rushed through the empty stony path. Her right hand clasped tightly around the phone which its screen showed a room chat with the last message written as a simple yes. The scenery of a deserted park greeted her eyes. She reached for the lamppost pole, catching her breath and then immediately sat herself on the nearby swing.
The cold breeze blew strongly, making (Y/N) hugged herself slightly. She huffed, regretting why she only had a sheer cardigan on top of her school uniform, barely protected her from the biting wind. The song of the cicadas and the shimmering moon, she shut her eyes as she enjoyed the peace atmosphere that night gave her. Her eyes fluttered open when a faint footsteps entering her ears, approaching her.
"Kei." (Y/N) greeted Tsukishima's figure as she swung her swing.
"What's the matter?" He asked quietly as he sat on another swing beside hers as he watched her straightened her position.
"I'm sorry I choose to call you now of all the time. I know you have to take some time alone. I'm sorry about Akiteru-nii, Kei. Is there something I can do for you?"
Silence. (Y/N) sighed.
"Remember when I told you about that discussion my family had yesterday? Tonight, they finally came into a conclusion." She looked at the moon. "They want to put me in the orphanage once they divorced and go on with their respective life." She chuckled painfully. "Even my brother already has a plan to stay at his friend's family until he can fulfill his own needs." She bit her lips. "I don't know where to go."
Tsukishima watched quietly as (Y/N) restrained sobs that were threatening to come out from her mouth. "What should I do, Kei?"
Tsukishima opened his lips. "Hey, (Y/N)?"
(Y/N) slowly lifted her head, only to find a cold honey orbs staring cruelly at her.
"Maybe it's your fault, isn't it?" The words that left his mouth stabbed right into (Y/N)'s heart.
"...What? What did you say?"
"It's your fault, right?" He pursed his lips. "It's your egoistic self that distance you from your family."
How could you say things like that?
"How many months has it been since you talked to them?" But you're the one who know that they didn't want to hear my story.
"When did the last time you pay attention to your brother, console his sadness?" But I told you already he always pushed me away.
"You don't even want to have dinner together with them every single night." Haven't I told you there's always no dinner portion nor a place for me to sit?
"No wonder they want to dispose you." Enough. She bit her lips.
"Don't you think you're being ungrateful all the time?" I don't know. Should I be grateful to live inside that cold, cruel house? She clenched her fist.
"You never tried hard enough. How come you dare to hope they want to keep you close anywa-"
"Shut up!" She yelled. His eyes widen slightly hearing she raised her voice.
"How dare I, you say? Well, it looks like you never pay any attention to what I was saying to you. So what was that? Fake entertainment?" She chuckled painfully. "I've had enough. You know, Kei. Tonight is supposed to be our goodbye. And you choose to end it this way. It's okay. I'm gonna leave now. Good bye, Tsukishima." She smiled bitterly between the tears that pooled in the corner of her eyes. She took a last glance and turned her heels to leave the park as soon as possible.
"(Y/N)." That stopped her track.
"You never cherish the only brother you have at your side. That's why I said your family have the right to push you away," said Tsukishima with tone as cold as the winter breeze. She bit her lips. Why won't you stop already?
"That's all. Good bye, (Y/N). I never thought of you as my friend all this time anyway." And she heard his step slowly fading away.
I know that your heart was shattered into pieces too yesterday. I know Akiteru-nii broke your trust. But why? Does that make you have the rights to say those words right in front of me?
She fell on her kness, losing all the strength she had while letting her tears streaming down her cheeks.
***
She jolted awake from her dream as she felt a pencil poked her cheek. The loud noises from the chaotic class slowly flooded her hearing once she got a good look of the boy who sat in front of her. Ennoshita Chikara, wearing his bored look. She shifted uncomfortably under his lingering gaze, feeling the slightly annoyed look rested on his face.
"Rise and shine, stupid (Y/N)." He said with a huft. "How long are you going to make me do all these tasks?"
"Uh... sorry, Ennoshita." She chuckled awkwardly, trying to ease the annoyance her partner felt. As she scratched the back of her neck, she added, "Y'know, my works have been occupied most of my attention lately."
"I know, but that's not an excuse to make your partner suffer, right? This is exactly why I told you to pay more attention to your academics." He scolded. "Remember what I said yesterday? You have to try harder."
Try harder, huh? Slowly, the words that always haunted her mind coming to her memory.
You never tried hard enough.
She quickly shook off the grief feeling that slowly creeping inside her heart. She replaced her gloomy expression with a smug one.
"Huh? Why do you say I haven't tried hard enough?"
He scoffed. "Of course. Your lacking in study, it is."
"But actually, I have done it." She rested her chin on her palm. "That'd be having you as my project partner, Chikara-kun." She said as she smiling sweetly to the brunette boy. That gesture making Ennoshita shivered.
"Stop it!" He karate-chopped the girl making her let out a small yelp. "That never fails to give me a goosebump."
"I see. So you've been captivated by me as well. Do those butterflies also fluttering inside your stomach?" She rose her eyebrows multiple times in annoying manner which made a vein popped out of Ennoshita's forehead.
"How about you start to do your part to make me also feel lucky to have you as my partner, (Y/N)-san?" She gulped when Ennoshita looked at her with a sweet smile that only means one thing, he's hella mad.
"Yes, yes, Ennoshita-sama." She muttered while starting to open her book.
"I said, stop with that horrible honorific, stupid (Y/N)!" Once again he karate-chopped the girl's head harder earning a louder yelp from her.

"You wanna go home already, (Y/N)?" Ennoshita asked, watching the girl stuffing her things inside her bag.
"Of course. I don't have any club activities to begin with." She shrugged. She took out a small cake wrapped in a cute box inside a slightly translucent tote bag, handing it to Ennoshita who had a questioned look on his face.
"Do me a favor and give the cake to Shimizu-senpai, will you?" Before the brunette boy could ask any questions, she added, "Asking Tanaka or Yuu would be troublesome. I'm trying to prevent any commotion here."
"That's not it. Why don't you give it yourself?"
"You know, gym is like a nightmare to me." Her gaze travelled to the class window. Her memories of her brother constantly yelled at her to go away whenever she visited his school gym came to her mind.
"I see." Ennoshita muttered quietly. "But our gym is different, don't worry. I'm sure the team will be thrilled to have you watching our practice."
(Y/N) considered Ennoshita's offer carefully. Yeah, Ennoshita's right. There won't be anyone who would yell at me to go away here, in Karasuno. Right?
"Okay." She said, finally agreed.
Ennoshita grinned widely. "Let's go!" He dragged her by her jacket hoodie, making the female yelped. They finally ended up laughing along their walks to the gym.
***
"Shimizu-senpai!"
The ravenette girl turned her head to the gym entrance, where a (H/C) girl waving her arm excitedly, standing beside Ennoshita. Shimizu Kiyoko smiled happily, walking closer to her underclassman.
"You finally decided to come today, (Y/N)-chan?" She asked kindly while extended her arm to accept the tote bag (Y/N) gave to her, letting out a small thank you.
"Yes." She gave Ennoshita a side glance. "This persistent boy won't stop persuading me to go. So I think it's fine to make him happy once in a while." She chuckled when Ennoshita glared at her.
"(N/N)!"
(Y/N) turned her attention to two creatures running into her direction with full speed. She swiftly slide her body to her right which sending them crashed into the newly tied net. Everyone who saw those scenes unfolding right in front of them immediately burst out laughing at the two idiots trapped like fish in the fishing net. Sugawara took out his phone and hummed contently at the pictures he perfectly taken of the silly scene.
(Y/N) tried her best to surpress the laugh until she finally joining the others, laughing at the poor libero and wing spiker trying to free themselves. When their laughs finally subsided, (Y/N) scanned the large gym thoroughly.
She turned to Ennoshita, "Where are the amazing first years you told me last Monday? They do practice, don't they?"
"Ah, them. You'll see them soon, I'm sure." Ennoshita shifted his attention to the gym entrance, catching four figures walking together in his dark brown eyes. "There they are."
(Y/N) followed her seatmate's gaze and saw a ravenette guy who was bickering with an orange haired guy, followed by a greenish haired guy trying to separate the duo which starting to fight. (Y/N) couldn't spot the fourth member. "You said four, right? Where ar-"
The words immediately got cut when she saw a tall blonde guy wearing a white headphone walking behind his three friends silently, eyes fixed on his mp3 player in hand. The realization hit the (E/C) eyed girl as her complexion paled. The world felt like only focused on the blonde guy who slowly lifted his head feeling an intense gaze directed towards him. His expression was unreadable.
It can't be...
After all this years I was trying to forget...
Why now?
Ennoshita realized the dreadful look his dear friend wearing, eyeing her with worry. He had so many questions as to why they locked eyes in such a long time, with each having strange expression. He slowly tapped (Y/N)'s shoulder, calling her name slowly.
However, that didn't succeed to bring the (H/C) female back to her sense. She just stood there, freezed. Ennoshita's focus solely directed to (Y/N) as he failed to realize Tsukishima was now standing only two feet away from them. He silently watched them, backed away when seeing Tsukishima's menacing glare. While (y/n) just stared blankly at his tall figure, the figure she spent years of longing, deepening the wound inside her heart, keeping it fresh.
"Yo, (L/N)-senpai. Long time no see," said Tsukishima casually, which didn't match his sharp glare that directed to the female he hated.
"W-what're you doing here, Tsukishima?" She managed to stammer out a few words, only to find her stuttered.
"I enrolled here, of course." He lightly scoffed. "Didn't expect to see you here at all."
Her lips shaking, her arms hugged her trembling body tightly. "Don't you have something you want to say to me?" Her voice came as a whisper, barely reaching Tsukishima's ears.
Her whisper followed by silence. Even the third and second years just watching them with closed lips.
Tsukishima lightly chuckled, ironically. "What? You think I'm gonna say I'm happy to meet you again?" He clicked his tongue. "You're such a nuisance. No wonder everyone left you alone. Now, you better do it too."
"W-what?"
"Fuck off, (Y/N)." He glared at the ground. "I don't even want to meet you again."
It was as if the world came to an abrupt stop. All she could hear was just his last words that echoed irritatingly inside her hear. All those years of hurting, questioning, only to hear the answer straight from the person today.
It hurt so much.
The unrequited love, she had her feelings wrapped around a dangerous, tight leash.
"Ah, I see. Then, I'll be off, guys. Thank you for today." She bowed with her eyes burning from tears.
She chuckled painfully. Try not to mind her breaking heart, she dashed right past the blond male who didn't even spare a glance at her. No longer wanted to feel the tears that threatening to spill, she made her way to the crossing bridge. As everything in her surroundings became numb, her guts told her to run away, go find a hiding place to succumb in despair.
She didn't care about anything, even when the traffic light for pedestrians turned bright red, it escaped her sight. Her steps couldn't be stopped. The sound of a loud honking car filled her ears. A bitter smile plastered on her pretty face, her eyes shutted close. Muscles relaxed as she basking herself in the warm light, waiting as the car collided harshly with her fragile body, sending her flying for a mere seconds before she crashed into the wet street with a loud thud.
The pitter patter of people's hurried steps, the rain that drizzled constantly, the warm liquid that grazed her skin, she no longer could feel anything. Just her and the darkness that slowly consumed her sight. She smiled weakly.
At the end of her life, she finally got her answer.
That the guy she had always loved from the beginning, never even wanted to have her by his side.
So she might as well leave, right?
Little did she knew, when she was fighting for her last breath, when everything became numb, she couldn't hear the sound of rapid footsteps of certain blonde man who chased after her, begging her to open her eyes.
Begging her to stay by his side.

Y/N's heart raced as she approached the bustling volleyball court. She had always been drawn to the vibrant energy of the game, the way the players moved with grace and determination. Little did she know that this court would be the stage where her life would change forever.
As the winter frost melted away, leaving behind a faint chill in the air, signs of spring began to emerge. Delicate blossoms burst forth on the cherry trees, their pale pink petals unfurling like the promise of new beginnings. Y/N, feeling the gentle caress of the warm breeze against their skin, sensed that change was on the horizon.
In the heart of the small prefecture of Miyagi, the local volleyball tournament was about to commence. Y/N had been persuaded by her friends to attend, even though she wasn't particularly sporty. The entire community buzzed with anticipation, eager to witness the fierce competition and display of skill.
As she watched the players, her eyes were drawn to a young man with pale blonde hair. It contrasted with his sharp, piercing eyes.
That young man was Tsukishima. His skill on the court was matched only by the fire in his eyes. With each powerful spike and agile blocks, he commanded attention, his presence almost magnetic. Y/N couldn't help but be captivated by his talent and the intensity with which he played.
Curiosity got the better of her, and she mustered the courage to approach Tsukishima during a break between matches. With sweaty palms and a nervous smile, she introduced herself.
"Hi, I'm Y/N. I've been watching you play, and you're incredible!"
Tsukishima turned to face her. "Hey, Y/N. Thanks for the compliment, I'm Tsukishima, you're in my class. Didn't know you were into volleyball.”
Y/N chuckled softly, feeling a warmth spreading through her chest. "I wouldn't say I'm into it exactly, but I've always been fascinated by the game. It's impressive to watch."
And so, their connection began on that volleyball court. As the tournament continued, Y/N and Tsukishima spent more time together, talking, laughing, and gradually falling for each other. It was as if the universe had conspired to bring them together, two souls destined to collide.
Their relationship flourished throughout their high school years. They shared countless adventures, whispered dreams of the future into each other's ears, and promised an everlasting love. But as they reached the pinnacle of their first year in university, reality came crashing down.
Tsukishima's decision to pursue his volleyball career tore their world apart. The weight of their ambitions and the fear of holding each other back became too much to bear. With tears streaming down her face, they made the painful choice to end their relationship, hoping it would pave the way for their individual journeys.
Y/N felt as if the ground had been yanked from beneath her feet. The girl who had once radiated joy and optimism was swallowed by darkness. A suffocating cloud of sadness enveloped her, and she sank into the depths of depression.
The room fell into an eerie silence as Y/N stared at Tsukishima, her heart sinking with every passing moment. The warmth that once emanated from their love seemed to dissipate, replaced by a chilling coldness that enveloped the space between them.
Tsukishima's features remained hardened, his eyes distant and unyielding. There was a callousness in his tone as he responded to Y/N's pleading questions.
"Y/N, you have to understand," he began, his voice devoid of the tenderness it once held. "My dreams, my ambitions, they're important to me. More important than anything else."
Y/N's breath caught in her throat, disbelief etching itself into her expression. She had hoped for a glimmer of remorse, a trace of the love they had shared. Instead, she found herself facing a version of Tsukishima she barely recognized.
"How can you say that?" she managed to utter, her voice trembling. "What about us? What about the promises we made, the plans we had?"
Tsukishima's response was cutting, his words laced with indifference. "Those promises were made in a different time, Y/N. People change, priorities shift. My dreams have always been my driving force, and I can't let anything or anyone hold me back, even if it means you and this high school relationship."
The shock of his callousness turned to anger within Y/N, fueling her determination to make him understand. "Love is about compromise, Tsukishima. It's about supporting each other's dreams, not discarding them. I thought we had something worth fighting for, but it seems I was mistaken."
A mocking smile played on Tsukishima's lips, as if he found amusement in Y/N's pain. "You're too idealistic, Y/N. Life doesn't always work out the way we want it to. Dreams require sacrifices, and unfortunately, you're one of them."
Y/N felt the sting of his words pierce her heart, tears welling in her eyes. The man she once knew, the one who cherished their love, had become a stranger consumed by his own desires. In the depths of her mind, she recognized the undeniable truth in his words, though the anguish it caused sliced through her heart like a merciless blade.
With a mix of sorrow and anger, she finally spoke her truth. "If you think your dreams are more important than the love we shared, then go. Pursue your ambitions and leave me behind. But know that one day, you may look back and realise the cost of losing someone who loved you unconditionally."
Without waiting for a response, Y/N turned away, her heart heavy with the weight of disappointment and betrayal. She knew that this fracture in their relationship had become an insurmountable divide, one that would forever shape their futures.
As she walked out of the room, the chilling coldness lingered, searing itself into her memory. Y/N vowed to find solace in her own resilience, determined to rebuild her life and rediscover her own dreams, free from the frost of Tsukishima's indifference.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. Her days became a monotonous cycle of waking up, going through the motions, and retreating back into the safety of her bed.
The once-vibrant colours of life dulled into shades of grey, and the laughter that once filled her home was replaced by a haunting silence. Memories of Tsukishima invaded her thoughts, replaying like a broken record, tormenting her with what could have been.
The small prefecture of Miyagi was bathed in the golden hues of the setting sun as Y/N sat alone at a corner table in the cozy restaurant. It had been ten years since she had last been here, and everything felt eerily familiar. This was the very place where she and Tsukishima had shared their first date, their hearts filled with youthful excitement and endless possibilities.
The cozy ambiance of the restaurant enveloped her, and memories flooded back with each glance around the room. It was as if the ghosts of her past were there, whispering in the air.
Y/N's mind drifted back to their high school days, where she and Tsukishima were inseparable. They were the epitome of the high school sweethearts, promising each other forever. Their love was pure, and their dreams seemed intertwined. But life had a way of throwing curveballs, and their story took an unexpected turn.
Tsukishima had always been passionate about volleyball. He dreamed of playing at the professional level, and that dream had fueled him for as long as Y/N could remember. It was a difficult decision for both of them, but Tsukishima couldn't let go of his dreams, and Y/N couldn't bear to hold him back.
Y/N, on the other hand, decided to stay in Miyagi. She found solace in the familiarity of the town and the memories it held. She poured her heart into her career, finding success and fulfilment, but deep down, a part of her always wondered what could have been.
The world seemed to be moving on, while Y/N felt stuck in a stagnant loop of unrequited dreams. Time moved forward, as it always does, and life in Miyagi continued its steady rhythm. Y/N watched as her friends, one by one, found love and announced their engagements. Social media feeds were filled with sparkling rings, heartfelt captions, and promises of forever.
Wedding invitations arrived in her mailbox, each one a painful reminder of the life she had envisioned for herself. She put on a brave face, attending the celebrations, smiling through the toasts, and offering her congratulations. But inside, her heart twisted with a mixture of joy for her friends and a deep ache for what she had lost.
Y/N couldn't help but wonder why she couldn't move on like everyone else. She had rebuilt her life, pursued her career, and embraced new experiences. Yet, the ghost of her past still lingered, clutching at her heartstrings.
With each engagement announcement, doubts crept into her mind. Why hadn't she found someone new? Why couldn't she let go of the love she had once held so dear? Was there something wrong with her? These questions taunted her, chipping away at her confidence and self-worth.
Y/N's journey to healing was not a linear one. There were days when she felt strong and empowered, ready to face the world with resilience. But there were also nights when loneliness wrapped around her like a suffocating blanket, leaving her feeling hollow and empty.
As the door to the restaurant swung open, Y/N's heart skipped a beat. There, standing before her, was Tsukishima. Time had treated him well. His once-boyish face now carried the mark of maturity, but his eyes still held the same spark that had captivated her all those years ago.
"Tsukishima," she whispered, her voice filled with a mix of surprise and nostalgia.
He walked over to the table, a hesitant smile on his face. "Y/N, it's been so long."
Y/N managed a smile, her heart pounding in her chest. "It's good to see you too."
They sat across from each other, the air heavy with unspoken words. Tsukishima fidgeted with his glass, struggling to find the right words.
"I wanted to tell you that I met someone and got engaged," he finally said, his voice tinged with a hint of regret.
Y/N felt a lump forming in her throat, but she managed to maintain her composure. "That's wonderful, Tsukishima. I'm happy for you."
A flicker of sadness flashed in his eyes. "She's amazing and sweet, Y/N, I’m settling down with her in Miyagi."
The words pierced Y/N's heart. She couldn't help but wonder why he couldn't see himself settling down with her. They had shared so much, their dreams, their fears, their firsts. How could all those memories and promises fade into oblivion?
Y/N mustered the courage to break the silence, her voice trembling with a mix of hope and apprehension. "Tsukishima, how were you able to settle down and marry someone else? Why wasn't it me? Why couldn't you see yourself settling down with me?" she blurted out, the pain and confusion resonating in her voice.
Tsukishima's gaze dropped to the table, his fingers nervously tracing invisible patterns on the surface. His eyes betrayed a deep sense of regret and longing, as if every word he was about to utter carried the weight of a decade's worth of unspoken emotions.
With a voice laced with vulnerability, he began, "Y/N, I've asked myself that same question countless times. The truth is, even though I thought about you often, there was always this lingering doubt within me. A feeling that I couldn't ignore."
Confusion washed over Y/N's face, her brows furrowing. "What do you mean, Tsukishima? What doubt?"
Tsukishima took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts. "It's hard to explain, but... when we were together, there was an intensity, a passionate flame that burned brightly. But deep down, I couldn't shake off this nagging uncertainty about our long-term compatibility. I couldn't envision a future with the same clarity that I could with someone else."
Y/N's heart sank, her mind struggling to grasp the magnitude of Tsukishima's words. The realisation that their connection, once so profound, had carried an underlying hesitancy left her feeling vulnerable and exposed.
Tsukishima’s eyes gazed into the distance, as if searching for the right words to convey the intricacies of his heart. His voice, soft and filled with a hint of nostalgia, finally broke through the stillness of the moment. "Y/N, it's hard to explain, but when I met this new girl... I woke up one day, and it hit me. I finally knew."
Y/N’s brows furrowed, her eyes fixed on him, desperate for understanding. "Knew what? What eluded you with me?"
Tsukishima took a deep breath. "What I was never sure of with you. It was like a haze lifted, and suddenly, clarity washed over me. I couldn't ignore the truth any longer."
She searched his eyes, pleading for further explanation. "But Tsukishima, why didn't you tell me? Why did you let me believe there was a chance for us?"
Tsukishima's gaze met hers, his own eyes brimming with remorse. "Y/N, I was afraid. Afraid of hurting you, afraid of losing what we had altogether. I convinced myself that maybe, just maybe, my doubts would fade away. But they never did."
A single tear escaped Y/N's eye, tracing a path down her cheek. The weight of their unresolved past pressed upon her, and yet, a glimmer of understanding emerged amidst the pain.
"And now you're engaged," Y/N whispered, her voice laden with a mix of resignation and longing.
Tsukishima nodded, his expression filled with regret. "Yes, I found someone who made me feel certain, who quieted the doubts within me. But please know, Y/N, that the love we shared, though complicated, will forever hold a special place in my heart."
Their eyes locked, the unspoken words hanging in the air. The silence spoke volumes, the wounds of their shared history beginning to heal, even if the scars would always remain.
Silence settled between them as they sat in the same restaurant where their journey had started. The echoes of their past reverberated through the air, mingling with the present moment. It was a bittersweet reunion, a reminder of what could have been and what never was.
In that moment, Y/N found solace in the closure she had sought for so long.
As they said their goodbyes, Y/N watched Tsukishima walk away, disappearing into the night. She couldn't help but wonder if fate had played a cruel trick on them, leaving them right where they left each other. The ghosts of their past would forever haunt those familiar streets, but Y/N was ready to create a new story, one that belonged solely to her.

Kei was fresh out of the shower. He laid on his shared bed basking on the soft sheets, already dressed on his pajamas. He heard the muffled sound of the hair dryer, Eriko loathed going to sleep with wet hair. He sighed as he began to flick on his phone to put some quiet lofi to get to sleep.
He heard her quiet steps, and the shifting weight at his side. Only his night lamp shined on the room, he finally pressed play.
He let the phone on the night stand, and covered himself he then turned off the light. Eriko slowly shifted towards him and gently placed her arm around him.
He clicked his tongue with annoyance. "Always so clingy, eh, little lady?" he mused. His tone betrayed him as she snuggled closer.
"Yes, Big Bird." She was going to pretend that she didn't notice the way his arm sneaked through her back. Hoe how he slightly shifted to accommodate her head so he didn't accidentally tugged her hair.
"Or are you scared that the covers will swallow you up?" He teased grinning. His honey eyes entranced on the roof.
"'m gonna say both." Eriko yawned.
His eyes were becoming drowsy, his fingers grazed her arm almost absentmindedly, he felt his breathing relaxing, he placed a gentle kiss on top on Eriko's head.
"Good night, love." He yawned and closed his eyes.
Eriko smiled tenderly, Tsukishima was so bad at lying when it was just the two of them, but she wasn't going to tell him, she preferred to enjoy the warmth that their bodies shared under the covers.

𝑺𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒚: Kei was never one to hold so much value to a person in his life but now that you were gone, he realized you were more part of his life than he came to know. << part two of tidal waves >>
His mind hadn't comprehended what had happened back at the gym. He walked home like he usually did with his earphones in not paying attention to anything else.
It wasn't until he got home that his brother had asked him about you. As much as Akiteru loved his brother even if he understood he wasn't one to discuss his feelings, he knew he had done wrong.
"How could you have just let her go like that?!" Akiteru exclaimed.
"If you haven't forgotten I had practice." He responded in a monotone voice. "I wasn't going to walk out just to go chase her."
Kei stood up from the steps and sat his bag down next to his shoes at the front entrance.
"Kei you're not realizing what you just did." Akiteru said. "The one person who cared a lot about you is gone. Y/n has always been there for you she never once left your side even when you turned into an ass."
"Well maybe it was time she left." He admitted, a sigh escaped his lips as he took his glasses off. "There was no point in holding onto a relationship that's been slowly falling apart."
"Are you sure that's the reason?" His brother questioned him with crossed arms in front of his chest. "And it's not a stupid excuse for your fear of loving someone?"
"What... are you talking about?"
"Come on Kei," Akiteru looked at him in the eyes. "Since you started to grow up the only person you have been friends with or have dared yourself to call him a friend is Tadashi. You never cared about anyone else." He walked closer to his brother. "Then she appeared... and all that sense went out the window. You started to get closer to her without thinking about it. If you had disliked her so much you wouldn't have given her a second thought."
Kei looked at the ground as he held his glasses in his hand. It was true to some extent. When he first met you, he was attracted to you. He did not know what it was but it just happened.
Every time his eyes fell on you, you smiled back. Only talking to him when it was necessary or a simple greeting when you two passed by one another in the hallways.
Maybe it was the fact that you weren't overbearing or annoyed him like everyone else did, except Tadashi of course. He respected you but it went beyond that with him.
"I know you still care about her, Kei."
He turned his head to the side, looking back at Akiteru again. "How could you possibly know that?"
Akiteru smiled at him knowing he was right. "If I brought up anyone else you wouldn't have hesitated to interrupt me."
"Yeah well..." He mumbled going up the short steps and heading inside to the living room.
"You'll regret it if you don't make up your mind." Akiteru called out.
Kei shook his head slightly as he pushed his glasses back up to the bridge of his nose. As much of a cold person people thought he was, it did hurt him when he saw you walking away. He wanted to go after you but his pride got the better of him.
As he passed by the blue color couch, his phone caught his attention. He stopped and stood still in front of it as his eyes never looked away from it. His arm extending out to take it and paused midway. He closed his eyes, a sigh escaping his lips.
It was sinnister of him to think about contacting you, to check up on you and seeing if you were okay when he was the one who called it quits first. Still, he yearned to hear from you.
"I don't want to say something that'll make you feel even more worse than you already do but-"
"Y-yeah I know..." You breathed out as the tears wouldn't stop falling down.
"Tsukishima needs to know what he did to you." Your sister said as she rubbed your back gently. "He never even deserve you in the first place."
Your breathing became uneven, hiccups escaped from your mouth. "I-I just... I-I want to know why I was treated so shitty by him?"
"People like him never give any answers. They do it because it's natural to them. They don't care about who they hurt in the end."
"He was so sweet..." You shook your head and looked down at her lap. "I-I don't understand... I-I want to understand."
"Y/n." She looked at you with sympathy, handing you a tissue. "Sometimes the answers you are looking for are the ones that shouldn't be looked for in the first place. Tsukishima is one of those."
You blowed your nose as you tried to calm down your rapid breathing. "How could I have been so blind?..."
"You were in love." Your sister said pulling you into her arms. "Love is something hard to get rid of. Don't blame yourself for trusting the wrong person who promised you love." She wiped away the tears from your cheeks. "He's not worth those tears."
Burying your head into her chest you closed your eyes trying to ignore the pain that you felt in your eyes and the headache that was starting to form.
All you wanted was for this nightmare to be over.
There was a knock at your door, your sister ignored it as she held you close to her. Then your phone vibrated on the nightstand. Carefully she reached over, trying not to wake you up, and looked at it. The screen lit up with messages from your friends and Tsukishima as well.
Another knock was heard coming from the front door again. A message popped up from him again.
Kei ― 8:30 PM
I tried calling you but it went to voicemail.
Kei ― 8:40 PM
Tadashi told me he messaged you and you never responded. Are you okay?
Kei ― 10:31 PM
I know you probably don't want to see me and it's late. Can we talk? I'm outside your door right now.
Her hand formed into a fist as she heard the doorbell go off. Slowly she pulled away from you and covered you up with the blanket before treading downstairs as quietly as she could.
Kei put his hand into his pockets, pacing back and forth waiting for you. He checked his phone again seeing if his message had gone through. Biting his lip he looked up at your house, his eyes landing on your bedroom window seeing the light was turned off.
The door then swung open, he stepped back but saw it wasn't you who stood in the entrance.
"What are you doing showing your face here?" Your sister questioned with such anger in her voice.
He swallowed down and cleared his throat before speaking. "Can I speak with Y/n please?"
"You really think I'm going to let someone like you who doesn't take an account of other people's feeling, talk to my sister?" She spat. "You already tore her apart what more do you want from her?"
Kei's eyes casted downward. He had to admit hearing someone who was close to you talk to him like that did hurt. "I messed up... I have no right to talk to her but if I can just have a minute with her-"
"No." She stated, staring at him. "I will not let you belittle her again as long as I'm alive. You broke her, Y/n cried more over you than she ever has in her entire life. How can you stand here and demand to talk with her?! Don't you have any shame? Aren't you embarrassed?"
He moved one foot forward and looked at her. "I came here to make things right. Please let me talk with her."
She breathed out, smiling not believing what she was hearing. "Why don't you take no for an answer? Y/n doesn't want to be near you, she doesn't want to talk to you damn it! Leave her alone, Tsukishima she hates you."
He clenched his jaw, "I want to hear those words coming from her, not you."
"Why don't you just give it a rest huh? You're only making things worse."
"I don't care. I'm not leaving until we both talk without you butting in." He said.
Your sister gripped the doorknob tightly. "Well then keep waiting because that's not going to happen anytime soon. And if you don't leave then I'll have no choice but to call the cops, asshole!"
Kei climbed up the porch stairs, "Listen here-"
She managed to shut the door in his face, leaving him outside alone with his anger. He ran his hand through his hair slightly pulling on the ends.
His phone vibrated, it was a message from you and one from his brother.
Y/n ― 10:50 PM
There's nothing else to say, you chose and I listened. It's time this ends.
Kei ― 10:51 PM
Please let's talk about his before we call it quits.
Y/n ― 10:52 PM
I never called it quits. You did.
Kei decided to call you instead. As the ringing sounded, his anxious state rose. Silently hoping that you'd pick up and you would be able to talk.
But it kept ringing and ringing
finally it went to voicemail.
He dialed your number again, hoping this time you would answer his call. He was about to end the call but you voice finally came through and it made his heart flutter with happiness.
"I told you to not call me." You said, sniffling.
"Please hear me out." He said. "I want us to talk, Y/n."
"Now you want to use that card? You want to finally talk after what happened?"
Kei sighed as his eyes closed, trying to picture himself next to you. "I know I messed up, Y/n."
"You did more than mess up, Kei." You bit your lip trying hard to steady your voice. "You intentionally hurt me without caring about how it would make me feel."
"I know I know― god I screwed up the one thing I enjoyed having in my life." He said. "I won't ever be able to mend the pain I caused you or make it go away." His eyes became glossy, his voice was starting to slightly break. "I was an i-idiot for not realizing how bad I was treating you. I-I should have valued you since a long time ago. I had you in my life when I didn't think how lucky I was to have you."
You let the tears silently escape as you heard his voice.
"I wish I could fix this.. fix the the ache I caused you."
"But you can't, t-that's the thing." You wiped away the tears from your eyes with your palm. "Once the person that you love hurts you, there's no going back to how you were. The whole will always be there... y-you can apologize how many times you want but will never mend."
"You're right...I'll never be able to forgive myself for hurting the person I had promised to love." He took off his glasses wiping away his tears with his sleeve. "Even though I can't go back in time I wanted to tell you how sorry I am for not acting better and treating you like someone precious in my life."
"Why are you just... apologizing now? You had all the time to make things right... why now?..."
"Because it's true what they say..." He paused for second then continued. "You never realize what you have until it's gone and it took for you to be done with me and my brother to put sense back into my head, to face the truth."
"You know what sucks?" You asked.
"What?"
You sighed, "That despite it all... everything you did. I still love you and I hate myself that I do."
A small smile formed on his lips. "I still love you too, Y/n. Even though I didn't tell you enough times... I love you no matter what."
"Is this even right... to continue?"
"Honestly, I didn't think about it. All I wanted was to see you."
By now your breathing had turned back to normal and the wet tears were now dry as if they never happened.
"I think it's now clear, with all that happened today and before. It's becoming obvious that what we had was never made to last."
His breath got caught in his throat. "Don't say that..."
"Think about it, Kei." You said almost pleading him to realize the truth. "The relationship were in didn't feel like one anymore. We were both in a routine that didn't have any feelings at all. Everyday we spend together felt like something we had to do not because we wanted to-"
He cut you off, "You're wrong. I was the one who made it seem like it didn't matter not you. I gave up halfway thinking I didn't deserve you. You did everything right, Y/n. I just didn't put enough effort to make things right knowing I was ruining things."
"Kei."
"But I know if we try again, this time the right way. It won't be like it was before... things will be different."
"How do you know?" You questioned feeling hope disappearing. "How do you know we're not bound to make the same mistakes again and again?"
"Because this time I know we can get through this." He said confidently. "I love you too much to repeat the same mistake again with you. I don't want to live every day knowing you're not with me anymore when I could have changed and made things right."
You loved him you did, despite it all. Now seeing this side of him and hearing him say those words you hadn't heard in a long time made your heart yearn for him. But you felt uncertain, afraid.
"Y/n?..."
"I want to believe you... I-I really do but I can't."
He nodded even though you couldn't see him, "Right..."
"I don't want to feel hurt, I want to feel confident in a relationship and not second guess everything or feel scared of getting a deeper hole inside of me."
Kei knew you were right but he didn't want to accept it. He did not want to let you go just yet.
"Give me a chance... please." He pleaded.
You wanted to give in, to say yes and throw caution into the wind but you were only going to make things worse.
"I'm sorry but it's time we take our own separate ways." You breathed out, slowly walking over to your balcony window and opening it up. Looking down you saw him standing there with his head tilted back and looking at the sky. "I love you enough to let you go, Kei. We both need space to grow... because we can't continue on like this."
"I never thought how much it would hurt to hear you say that." He mumbled.
"I don't want to let you go... I want to stay beside you but it needs to happen."
You were both dying on the inside, craving to run into each other's arms but you had to hold back.
Kei turned to look at your balcony seeing you were standing there, the moonlight illuminating those features he loved so much.
"It never should have come to this... I'm sorry that it did."
A weak smile formed on your lips. "We were bound to crash and burn sooner or later. But we unfortunately found out too late."
"Even now you still look so damn beautiful."
A blush crept up your cheeks making you happy and sad at the same time.
"Promise me we will find each other again, and this time we won't keep it quiet about how we feel. I don't want to live knowing our love is still there."
"I'll make sure to let you know how I feel, Kei."
He smile widely, giving you the smile you deserved to see everyday when you were with him. Tears escape from his eyes, but that smile you adored never left.
"I love you, Y/n. I love you so much... I'm sorry for everything I did to you."
You cried looking at him, trying to smile as well.
"I-I love you too." Your voice cracked. "Goodbye Kei Tsukishima."
Neither of you dared to end the call. You were too attached with hope of things working out in the future but until then you needed to let go.
Kei breathed out smiling sadly. His hand shaking as he ended the call.
"Goodbye, Y/n."
