Ten years since you graduated Hope’s Peak Academy.

You stand on the balcony of the house you shared with your significant other, who was standing right beside you.

At your beloved plush bunny’s request, you passed him down to your child, if you had one.

He was just as attached to the rabbit as you were when you first received him from your grandmother. It was an endearing sight.

But that didn’t mean the bond you shared with Mr. Bunny ever went away. He continued to give you any kind of support you needed, and sometimes, you had time to spend alone with him. He still loved to hold you like a baby, even though you were fully grown.

If you had any children, you’d best believe the rabbit does the same thing to them too.

When they were born, you handed them to Mr. Bunny to hold them, and he held them so gently, as though they were made of glass. And instead of cowering away from him, they curled into his soft chest, and you saw his black, beady eyes shine with tears.

He basically became their third parent, and sometimes, you had to pry the child away from him because he refused to leave their side. Then you would laugh as he got grumpy and pouted at you.

He was like the family’s bodyguard, and he did his job well. Not only was he very difficult to damage, but his keen senses did a great job at sensing danger, then getting rid of it before you or your family could find out.

Anyway, you watched the sunset with a peaceful expression, on the warm cottage property you always dreamed of living in.

Seeing you lost in thought, your significant other gets your attention by placing their hand on yours.

“Are you alright?”

You snapped to attention and gave them a warm smile and nodded.

“Just thinking about the past, and how we ended up here. It’s kind of weird to think about, but I couldn’t be happier.”

Your significant other nods and mirrors you, watching the sunset as well.

Shuichi Saihara

He smiles and chuckles at you.

“Yeah, kind of. But I’m glad we’re here now.”

After graduation, he received a letter from one of the best detective departments in the city

He spent many nights working, and often struggled to come to bed with you

But he still assured that you meant everything to him

Together, you had one child

They took after your appearance, but was shy, like Shuichi

You find them absolutely adorable

Shuichi smiles and takes your hand in his, as he turns back to the sunset

Rantaro Amami 

He chuckles at you and nods.

“It kind of is, huh? But hey, I’m not complaining.”

He still loved to travel, so he found a job where he could take business trips often

So sometimes he would leave for a while, but he sent postcards and gifts he knew you would like

Anything to let you know he was still thinking of you

You have at least two children with him

He loves taking care of people, but if two is enough for you, it’s enough for him

Sometimes he and Mr. Bunny argue over the children’s affections

It’s pretty funny sometimes

Rantaro smiles at you once more before slinging his arm over your shoulder and pulling you close to him

Kokichi Oma 

He tilts his head and gives you a look of mock confusion.

“Hmmmm? What do ya mean ‘weird’? Are you calling me weird??”

His face changes to a look of playful sadness before smiling at you.

“Yeah, I guess it is kinda weird. But at least we’re here now, right?”

Thanks to him and his organization, he earned a lot of money

He worked too hard to let it go, even after all these years

But he did promise not to do anything too evil

He’s not a fan of kids, so he doesn’t enjoy the idea of having one of his own

But if you really want a child, he might consider it

He hopes they’ll at least have a fun attitude and won’t be super boring

He may not have gotten that last growth spurt, but at least his attitude matured

But he’ll bring you back souvenirs from the places he visits

He loves the idea of having kids, so you’ll probably have at least one

He’ll teach them about his passions, hoping they’ll take interest in it

He turns and gives you a warm smile.

He found a job where he could talk about bugs all day long

•Hajime will admit, he’s not really well-versed in gyaru fashion, so he may need you to explain some things to him, or help him find articles for him to read through

•Even before he met you, he had always found your fashion style cool

•Bright, and definitely different, yes, but it had a unique sense to it that piqued his interest

•So, when he began talking to you, and getting even closer to you, he was more than happy to learn about the gyaru style

•He‘ll even go shopping with you!

•He knows that there’s a lot to it, though, so he’s more than happy to just sit down with you and have you ramble about the subject

•He’s always happy to learn more! And he’s curious to know what your favorite parts are about the particular fashion

•Rantaro’s also pretty good with nail painting and makeup! If you want him to paint your nails, he’ll patiently sit down with you and paint them whatever color you’d like, and then wait for it to dry

•He’d also be more than happy to do your makeup! He’d want to know your favorite lipstick/gloss colors, or the color palette that you often like with eyeshadow

•He admittedly wears some makeup himself, so he’s fairly good with applying it!

•Rantaro’s also a rather verbal person, so you’l definitely get compliments from him!

•Before you go on a date, he may give you a smile and a comment on how stunning you look, or if you decided to do your makeup at home, he’d tell you specific things that he loves about it

Tsumugi likes to knit.

She has anxious hands, your girlfriend. They must always be occupied with something, or else she will start to pick at herself. Nails and lips and skin. She fiddles with stray threads, winding trails of yarn around the tips of her fingers 'till they go swollen and red. So for her birthday, you bought her some wool, and some needles, and a little paper booklet of patterns.

She's gone a little wild with them, actually. What started as a hobby for finicky hands has turned into a full-time obsession. Your apartment is crammed with sewing kits, rounds of yarn and cotton and wool, and she spends most of her free time curled up like a cat, knitting 'till she gets dents on her fingers. It certainly hadn't helped with her love for cosplay, either—in fact, gifting her the means to make her own higher-quality costumes meant that you had several racks of outfits scattered about the place.

Not that you mind, of course. It's sweet, that she's so involved in her interests. You're nothing if not supportive.

As winter arrives with a languidity that makes it feel as though it's lasted for decades already, Tsumugi turns her attention more to practicalities. First come mittens in your favourite colour, adorned with cute white flowers. Next, hats, and scarves, and thick socks. You watch her out of the corner of your eye, bundled up in Genshin-themed pyjamas and homemade socks, eyes furrowed in concentration behind her glasses as her needles clack.

You think she's planning something for Christmas; Tsumugi often makes a habit of checking your measurements for when she wants to craft matching cosplays for the both of you, but she's been doing it a little more frequently this month. She's also taken to doing a lot of her work in the bedroom rather than the living room, and hurriedly tossing it aside when you enter. You have to bite back a smile every time.

Still, you don't have to wait for too long. The day itself comes sooner than you're expecting, and you start it with pancakes and tea wrapped in blankets on your shared couch. The curtains are pulled open slightly, hailing the sprawling city below and a flurry of fresh snowfall and watery grey light. Tsumugi has her long, dark hair twisted back into two intricate twin braids on the back of her head, leaving her face open and pale and lovely.

You can't resist warming it with a kiss or two on her cheek, giving a pink tint to pale skin. She squirms and giggles under your advances, halfheartedly pushing you off—but when she finally pulls back and hides her face in her mug, you can see the tips of her ears burning red.

Finally, she reaches under the tree and hands you a package. It's a soft, heavy weight in your hands, wrapped in dark blue paper and tied with a white bow. Tsumugi perks up excitedly as you begin to unwrap it, carefully making sure not to tear the paper—you know she likes to reuse it. As it unfolds, your fingers brush soft, knitted wool, and you grin.

It's a sweater. Navy blue, dotted with white stars, and spelled out in slightly wobbly letters across the front: I GOT MY GIRLFRIEND INTO KNITTING AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS LOUSY SWEATER.

Tsumugi squeals when you burst into peals of laughter. "What?" she cries. "What is it? Do you like it? Do you hate it? What?!"

"I love it, idiot," you gasp between hacking mirth, taking a moment to grasp her face between your hands. "For the love of... okay, help me get it on!"

She squeals again when you strip your shirt off, but this time she quickly snaps back into action. Carefully, as though the thing were made of glass, she helps you slide the sweater down over your head, threads your arms through the sleeves. It settles over you, enveloping you in a soft, warm exhalation, drooping around your wrists, fitting perfectly to every dip, curve, and swell. You can feel the soft brush of Tsumugi's hands as they adjust and tug.

Slowly, tentatively, the brush of her lips on the nape of your neck. And you're warm all over, and it has little to do with the sweater.

"I love it," you say again, quieter this time. Tsumugi beams, tears making her dark eyes look starry, and slips her hands beneath the sweater to rest on the skin of your stomach. "I love you."

"Mmm," she murmurs, happily nesting her face into the crook of your neck. "I love you, too. Merry Christmas."

• As a cosplayer herself, Tsumugi crossdresses from time to time, so she really doesn't see why people would bully you for it. Only difference between you crossdressing and her cosplaying, is that one is dressing up as a fictional character.

• But, Shirogane also got made fun of for cosplaying. Huh, looks like she can sympathize with you on this one.

• One thing she learned in her many years of cosplaying, is that no matter what you do, there will always be someone who doesn't like it.. Just because. So, why try to fit in with the rest, when you can be yourself?

• She told, well tried to, tell you the same thing, but it only came out as a more convoluted and full of references statement. Well, she tried.

• When you're spending time together and come across one of those bullies, Tsumugi is at first only glaring at them. If they say something about you, Shirogane speaks up. She tells them how wrong they are and basically rants until they leave. This works a 9,5 out of 10 times. The 0,5 times is when Tsumugi simply spaces out, effectively creeping out your bully.

Two days after the incident, you left your room, telling your significant other you needed a moment. With your bunny in your arms, you mindlessly strolled around the school. 

The events from the other kept replaying in your mind. Your bunny plush, your childhood best friend, just tried to kill your significant other. The only person who gave you the time of day since your grandmother. 

And it did it to protect you. Because it thought they wanted to hurt you.

You had no idea who to blame, and you didn't think you could. The Bunny, for attacking your significant other to protect you? Or your significant other, for trying to defend themselves, or you by not saying anything?

You didn't think either of them to blame, and maybe they weren't.

Your thoughts were quickly cut off when you tripped on something. Something was in your way, and it sent you face first into the ground. Fortunately, you caught yourself with your hands before your face hit the ground.

After sitting up, you saw your worst enemy towering over you. The Ultimate Bully, who had been bothering you since the beginning. Everyone else was in their labs, so you two were alone.

The Bully smirked at you while they leaned against a nearby wall. 

"Well, if it ain't the Ultimate Baby. How's the milk flow this morning?"

Your eyes felt hot with tears, but you refused to let them fall. You stood up and wiped your eyes to make sure no tears were there.

"What did I ever do to you?" You asked with a broken voice. The Bully's smug expression changed into a glare.

"You're pathetic. Your childhood was over years ago, but you still can't let it go, can you?"

Before you could react, the Bully reached down and picked up the Bunny. After inspecting the Bunny with a disgusted expression, the Bully looked back at you with a sadistic grin. They held out the Bunny in front of them, gripping the Bunny's arm.

"I'll show you how to let it go."

Before your eyes, the Bully ripped the Bunny's arm. The stuffing was exposed and the thread was torn. You ran up to the bully to get the Bunny back, but the Bully punched you in the stomach. 

You fell back onto the ground, clutching your stomach in pain. By this point, you couldn't even hide the tears anymore, and your bully laughed at you tauntingly. 

But before they could do anything else, you heard footsteps approaching.

He threatens to punch their lights out if they don't leave you alone

Not that he actually will

He helps you up then goes to pick up the Bunny 

He freezes at first, remembering the  events from yesterday

He has the bandage on his face to prove it-

But he pushes away the fear and picks up the Bunny

Then you go to his lab to patch up the Bunny

He tries to do it but he's not good at it

After it's repaired, the Bunny offers its paw as an apology

Kaito hesitates, but you convince him that the Bunny was sorry and wouldn't hurt him again

So he agrees and shakes the Bunny's paw

You guys hang out in his lab for a couple hours, and Kaito starts bonding with the Bunny

You're sitting in his lap with the Bunny while he holds you from behind

Very relaxing times

It made up for the insanity from the other day

Gonta Gokuhara 

"W-Why so mean to S/O? S/O don't deserve that..."

Has to stop himself from crying right there on the spot

This is about you, not him

His giant stature scares the Bully, so they gtfo'd right then and there

He takes your hands in his and pulls you up like a true gentleman

Then picks up the Bunny, handling it like an injured rabbit

He brings you to his lab and offers to patch up the Bunny's arm for you

But his hands are a bit too big-

The butterflies stay far away, still wary of the Bunny after yesterday

After its arm is fixed, Bunny crawls into Gonta's lap and apologizes again for what it did

And then apologized to the butterflies

Gonta forgives him and happily scoops it into a tight hug while the butterflies flutter around them

Gonta holds you and the Bunny in his lap while you chill with the butterflies

You guys hang out with butterflies for a while and the Bunny promised to not kill any more spiders

Korekiyo Shinguji 

"I do not appreciate this behavior. Don't ever harm them again."

The Bully gtfos and Korekiyo helps you up before picking up the Bunny 

It narrows its eyes at him and he sweats a little bit before handing it to you

You guys already talked it out and you moved past it, but he couldn't stop feeling guilty 

He stitches up the Bunny, while sitting in silence

You ask him what's wrong and he confesses to still feeling ashamed

The Bunny didn't hear your previous conversation, so it was astonished

It was still concerned for you, but it could see that you cared about him

So it offers its paw for Korekiyo to shake

He's caught off guard but accepts, swearing to never harm you

The Bunny's still gonna keep an eye on him, but it'll give him a chance

He takes your hand with a smile, and you spend the rest of the morning chilling together

Ryoma Hoshi 

"Hey. Piss off."

His short stature makes him very unthreatening, honestly

But he brings his cat plush, who hisses at the Bully, making them freak out and run

Ryoma helps you up while the Kitty helps the Bunny

That's the cat's name from now on

The Kitty tries to stitch up the Bunny, but it's nub hands don't do a very good job, so you do it yourself

The Bunny realizes that it actually really likes the Kitty 

And Ryoma too I guess

So it apologizes to the Kitty, then Ryoma

They both forgive it and the plushies hug it out and become best friends

The Bunny nods against her chest after you say that

Kaede is flustered for a moment, but smiles and strokes the Bunny's ears

All is forgiven now

And you lay your head on her shoulder while she continues playing

She marched up to the Bully and pointed a knife at their throat

You were shocked

You hadn't seen or spoken to her since the other day, and here she was

The Bully runs off after pissing themselves

Maki picks up the rabbit and kneels down in front of you and hands it to you

You take the Bunny from her and look at her

Her head is turned away in shame

"Why didn't you?"

You take her hand, making her turn back to you

Then she pulls you in and you hug it out

You hated being away from her, even if it was only a day

After you're done, she lets out a sigh through her nose

"I guess I get it. It was just trying to protect you. I know I would do the same."

She looks away and blushes with a small smirk

"But that doesn't excuse the destruction it caused! Fix up the Robo-Rabbit and my chainsaw, then I'll forgive you."

You kiss her on the cheek and thank her

She blushes hard but wraps her arm around your waist anyway

The rest of the morning was spent with Miu teaching the Bunny to use her tools while she sat in a fancy chair with her arm around your waist

She would fix them later, but for now, she just wanted time with you

"Himi, we talked about this. I know why you lied, and it's okay. It's no big deal. I'm just glad nobody got hurt."

You smile and hug her

She lightly smiles and hugs you back

The Bunny watches you for a moment, before squeaking

You quickly pull apart, startled

It's ears are tipped down in a pout, and it's adorable

It sits on Himiko's lap and apologizes, as translated by you

She accepts it and all's well

She leans her head against your shoulder with the Bunny in her lap, and you chill there until the afternoon

She basically forgave it immediately 

Then she showed you her work, and you praised it like always and gave her a hug

You sat with her while she continued with her work, this time with a new inspiration

"Please stop bothering them. They don't deserve that."

Helps you up and takes the Bunny before taking you to her lab

She frets over you like a mom, making sure you were okay

Then she makes you a cup of tea before stress-cleaning

You notice this and ask what's up

She confesses that she still feels bad about stabbing your rabbit

Especially after seeing the stitching down its stomach

"Kirumi, that wasn't your fault. You were only defending yourself. I'm not mad at you for that."

"Do you promise?"

"Of course."

You give her a kiss on the cheek and it makes her smile

The Bunny was still feeling bitter about being stabbed, but it realized that it was its own fault for starting it

Then it supposed it should apologize

The Bunny beckoned you to it with its squeaks, and asked that you bring it to Kirumi

You explained that it wanted to apologize and it offered a hug

She was still feeling a little uneasy after last time, but hey, why not

She accepted the hug and the apology and all was well

You drank tea together and hung out until the afternoon rolled around

Tsumugi understates herself, but to you? She is the most beautiful person in the room.

She is absolutely enthralling as you watch her spin across the room, the ruffles of her dress swaying in time with the motions she dances with her fellow classmates - it’s a little awkward, unpracticed and unconfident, but something about the way she even manages to make her stumbling graceful is appealing.

From your position at the drinks table, you pour a glass of something sweet, not pausing for a moment to take your eyes off her. Wallflowering yourself to the tables has its benefits, as you can tether yourself to a spot and spectate.

The dress she wears is long, just like her daily uniform. You presume she created it herself by the meticulous way in which it has been crafted. You can picture it; Tsumugi sitting at the sewing machine, embellishing it with the utmost care, each individual thread carefully stitched as though it were a matter of life or death. Even the thoughtful expression she would wear as she pondered what the colour scheme she was to wear was a perfect picture frame in your mind.

As she socialises with her other classmates, you page each expression she makes like you’re pressing flowers into a book. The way she smiles awkwardly at Shuichi, neither of them able to take the lead in their dance as they interlock hands, or the way she falls into step with Rantaro as he leads her across the room in a friendly manner as he makes casual conversation with her. She may call herself plain, but you find the predictability comforting amongst your eccentric classmates.

It’s too warm all of a sudden, a dizzying and cloying feeling the more you look at Tsumugi who absolutely dazzles you. You watch her gaze flitter around the dance floor, searching for something - you’re not sure what it is, but you feel the need to step forward and help her search, direct her towards what she’s looking for.

Then she spots you.

You’re not much, just the nicest outfit you owned from your array of clothing but it’s apparently enough for Tsumugi, as you watch her perk up and practically sparkle as she untangled herself from a corroboration of dancers. She strides over, a little uneasy as she flashes you a bashful smile - you could just melt at the way her cheeks upturn.

“Y/N! You… you’re here,” she says, slightly breathless from the strenuous activity that is dancing.

Unsure of what to say, you smile back. “I- Yeah. It’s nice, Kaede and Kaito did really well with the place.”

“Well, for a plain Jane like me, this is a dream come true…” she steps closer and you catch the scent of perfume, was that vanilla? “I still wish they would’ve let me cosplay - Cinderella could have been perfect for an elegant party!”

You watch as the excitement blooms once more as she settles into familiar topics, things you have heard a million times but because it’s Tsumugi, she could tell you a million more and it would still would never be enough.

“I think you look wonderful, even if you’re not cosplaying,” you tell her honestly. She blushes bright red for just a moment, covering her face in embarrassment. You commit the expression to memory once more, to be visited on the worst of nights.

“Someone like me? What about Kaede, or Miu? Everyone’s looking at them.” she quizzes, half curious and half introspective.

It’s true, to a certain extent. Both girls are wearing something much flashier as they weave between crowds of students - particularly Miu, with that low cut dress.

“Well… Sure, they both look really nice, but I can see the work that you put into that dress. It’s obvious that you worked really hard on it, and I appreciate that more.” you explain, rubbing the back of your neck nervously.

Tsumugi looks at you with a reverence you’ve never seen before, like you’ve opened up her world and pried something out of her no one else has. Gently, you move to take her hand, giving her ample time to back away or reject your advance. She doesn’t.

“May I have this dance with you?” is what you ask as you lead her back towards everyone else. She nods, unable to form words.

The dance you perform isn’t perfect. Far from it, actually. Both of you stumble and almost crash into someone at least once and you’re ever so slightly out of time with the music.

No one is staring at the both of you in awe at your dancing skills, there’s no spotlight to illuminate your sudden display of skill like in the anime Tsumugi frequents, but that’s what completes it all. You’re in your own pocket of time and space. No one bats an eye as you share this memory between one another and no one notices when you press a kiss to her hand.

It’s plain - just like Tsumugi. A normal dance. It’s complete.
