I just finished reading twenty thousand leagues under the sea and I simply LOVE the characters, so I'll be making fanart of them :]
This is how I imagine Conseil, Professor Aronnax's loyal assistant 🌼

My Theories For Upcoming Pulp Musicals Episodes ‼️
These are all based on how the first two episodes were directly inspired by existing 19th century sci-fi.
First off is the Mysterious Island, which is pretty much confirmed since half the crew was sent to the *same* island as the one in the books! (Ie Lincoln Island)
Tumblr media
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea is functionally a sequel to The Mysterious Island, given the ending of the book including one of the major characters from TTLUTS. (Not gonna name them cause I'm betting they'll show up in the episode!!)

From here on out there's no proof, I'm just going with vibes.
War of the Worlds maybe they finally get back to New York, only for the Martians (or whatever Kal's people is) attacks. 1870s is around the same time that Mars came down to Earth after all!
Tumblr media
The Things that Live in Mars One of the first instances of genuine Speculative Evolution, courtesy of HG Wells himself. If Mars attacks, then maybe Rose, Samuel, Margaret, and John ends up there too! Again it could literally be Martians, or Kal's people.

From the Earth to the Moon this feels like something that will happen at some point considering that this whole journey started with them making up a lie about life on the moon, then escalating into going to space and then time travelling.

Outside of his most popular novels (TTLUTS, ATWI8D), what is your favorite Jules Verne story (if you have one)?
Honestly, I've read others, but most of Verne's work outside of the ones everyone's heard of are pretty mid. I guess I'd say From the Earth to the Moon/Round the Moon, but I don't know if that counts as unpopular exactly.

HI HELLO it's been a couple years since my ttluts fandom era so i'm pretty out of the loop but may i offer ned land for the "send me a character" ask game? feel free to ignore this if it's something that doesn't interest you anymore
It's been a bit since I was into TKLUTS either but I can give it a shot!
First impression: I don't remember, because I was 7 when I read the book and don't recall paying too much attention to him. I think I thought he was cool but I was enamored with Nemo because even at the tender age of 7 I knew I had a thing for unhinged Victorian scientists with a dark past, I guess.
Impression now: He's a fun guy. I love him as a foil to Nemo, as a driving force in the book (as opposed to Aronnax who, despite being the main character, tends to not really act on much.) He's loyal, he's outspoken, he's got a keen and strong sense of justice, in a lot of ways he's the Only Sane Man on the ship, and yet given how powerful Nemo's influence is he comes across largely as volatile and aggressive throughout the book.
Favorite moment: "Those guys are rascals." "From where?" "The Land of Rascals." (runner up is the part where he's talking about how he got a string of pearls for his ex and they were dirt-cheap and Aronnax goes "yeah I think those might have been fake sorry" and Ned's like "oh. That's probably why she dumped me then")
Idea for a story: I really don't know? He's a bit one-note like many Verne characters but I'd like to see him and Aronnax and Conseil meet up to shoot the breeze years later. They apparently did keep in touch, Aronnax mentions that they remain friends for life!
Unpopular opinion: Pretty sure Verne actually meant for him to be American and then realized most Americans don't speak fluent French. Just the Vibes he has. I'm not sure if it was different in 1870 but
Favorite relationship: Him + Aronnax + Conseil = The BROTP ever please I love them so much
Favorite headcanon: I dunno if I can think of one ottomh

tvtropes page for ttluts: conseil may only be 30, but his devotion to 'monsieur le professeur' is mildly disturbing
me, still loyal to the point of it being a problem: well, ysee, about that, *drinks* -#☆0☆
