Tuggoffelees prompt: Tugger follows Misto to his human home and becomes the thing that wouldn’t leave.

“…what is-“

“I don’t know, and he won’t leave.”

“Did you take him outside?”

“Yes! All morning! Every single time he’s gotten back in somehow. The windows are all closed and locked. I shut the chimney flue. I even checked the attic, but there are no holes. It’s just like-“

“Just like when Butler disappears and we look everywhere just to find he’s been asleep on the back of the couch the whole time?”

“Pretty much.”

“Where is Butler?”

The woman points at the very large, very fluffy creature now occupying the entire circumference of a basket with a round pillow inside it. Amongst the fluff, when the man leans closer, a small black ear can be seen.

“I think Butler brought him home with him,” the woman says. There is a pause. “He didn’t want to cuddle with me at all, but he followed me all over the flat for a bit and let me rub his ears. Even the little tufts. And the two of them have been inseparable.”

The man crosses his arms over his chest. “It was enough of a fight already finding a flat that would let us have one cat. They’re not going to allow us two. And I’m not sure that thing is even a cat. Not a domestic one, anyway. He’s got stripes and spots, both.“

“I think he’s what’s called a cashmere bengal. I looked up cat breeds. But he’s definitely also maine coon. That’s why he’s huge.”

On second look, the man can’t even see the basket that the ‘cat’ is curled up on because he spills out of it so much.

“We still can’t-“

“If you can get him to leave and not get back in somehow, then fine,” the woman says, even as she reaches over to stroke the strange cat’s fur. “But you know Butler always somehow does his vanishing act any time our landlord comes round. For all they know, this handsome beast could’ve always been our one cat we moved in with. Aaaand, Butler has cried every time I’ve tried to put his friend out.”

The man doesn’t seem convinced, and bends down to lift up the sleeping cat. It immediately awakens and writhes to escape his grip. And from the basket, a tiny meow of protest roses from the now-revealed black and white cat that is Butler, who is less than half the strange cat’s size.

Two hours later, the man slumps onto the couch. The woman laughs as the cat who had just been yowling at him and scrambling to get out of his grasp jumps up onto his chest and lays out down practically the whole length of the man. It begins to purr so loud it could probably be heard over half of London.

“Alright. I give up. He can stay.”

The woman beams, going to the hall and then quickly returning holding a black leather collar studded with tiny spikes. “Thank god!”

Demestrap, Tuggoffelees, and Platoria because I love these pairings.

🌸 Who brings gifts (flowers, wine, chocolates, etc.)

Demestrap- Demeter brings the wine while Munkustrap brings the chocolate in the shape of a heart

Tuggoffelees- Tugger brings the music that Misto will like and then dance to while Misto brings a necklace that only makes sense to the two of them

Platoria- I feel like Plato would be the one who tries too hard but will always settle for flowers and Victoria is the one who will bring wine as a way to break the ice.

👄 Who initiates the first kiss? Does it go well?

Demestrap- Demeter is the one who inciates it because Munkustrap is extreamly nervous as usual and it goes very well.

Tuggoffelees- Misto but only to stop Tugger from rambling. It does it’s job and Tugger returns the favor.

Platoria- Plato but it a nervous mess and somehow kisses Victoria’s nose instead of her lips. But they laugh and it becomes a running joke between them.

🍰 Who picks up the cheque (if there is one)? Does the other person put up a fight?

Demestrap- Munk tries every single time because he is a gentleman but gets told by Dem that she can also pay for them sometimes.

Tuggoffelees- I'd like to think they'd switch depending on the meal and how much it is. Though Tugger tries his hardest to pay all the time. Misto will sometimes make sure to take the check before Tugger sees it and give the waiter his card.

Platoria- They take turns but Tori like to pay most of the time like her brother does for Tugger. Somehow Plato doesn't notice.

😍 Any random headcanons you may have

Demestrap- Their typical date is usually at home where they cook a meal together and talk about their crazy days. Munkustrap loves these days since he never really has a chance to slow down while Demeter looks forward to just being with Munkustrap and doing something domestic like cooking.

Tuggoffelees- They like to go to concerts and ballet shows for their dates and then go to dinner where they talk and talk for hours about what they just witnessed. They'll sometimes critique but they usually talk about their favorite parts.

Platoria- Their typical date is at home watching a movie with some sort of takeout like Chinese food. They switch on what movie to watch. But they learn a lot about each other from their movie choices. Like how Victoria loves watching movies where the heroine doesn't put up with anything like Beauty and the Beast and Legally Blonde or how Plato hates it when a male character disrespects their female counterpart. But they can agree on watching movies like The Mummy.

And now I want to actually write these in a story...

What's your hcs for how they met/got to know each other as friends and/or more than friends?

omg i'm so sorry this took me forever to get to but the tuggoff brainrot is still happening!!!

so my main canon idea of how the two of them met and became friends is actually relatively simple!!!

Bustopher brought Mistoffelees and Victoria to the Junkyard when they were young cats, pretty much just after Macavity left with Bombalurina and Demeter.

it was partially to give his niece and nephew a new start, and to meet new friends, but Bustopher knew about Mistoffelees' magic, and knew that if he didn't try to put his nephew in a safe place, he would get hurt.

Tugger, at that point, was honestly at his lowest. He was healing from Macavity hurting him, he wasn't speaking to Munkustrap or Deuteronomy, and was contemplating leaving the Jellicles, because he could feel their stares and whispers.

but then he met Mistoffelees.

He actually found him as he was leaving the Junkyard. Tugger had made up his mind, and was sneaking out to leave once and fore all, and found found Mistoffelees practicing magic in a little secluded alcove. Mistoffelees was terrified. He heard briefly about the entire Macavity situation, and was hiding his magic, so having the youngest son of the Jellicle Leader find him made him believe he was about to be tossed away.

Instead, of course, Tugger swore to keep his secret, and even told Mistoffelees that he had been going to leave the Junkyard. They talked for hours, until the sun began to rise over the Junkyard, and the two of them were now the best of friends with a bond that no one else understood.

They were absolutely and completely inseparable, the only other cat who knew why was Victoria, because Misto couldn't keep anything from his twin, and Tugger adored the white queen like she was his own sister.

Just like how Tugger encouraged Mistoffelees with his magic, Mistoffelees was the one who encouraged Tugger to actually sit down and talk to Munkustrap and Deuteronomy.

Their move from platonic friendship to a romantic relationship was gradual, but obvious to the two of them.

There wasn't really an "oh... oh" moment for them, because they had a feeling that the other was it for them. That this cat who had been by their side through the hardest time, this cat who knew their deepest secrets, that they would one day dance together.

It just happened at their own pace, and they just slotted together into their romantic relationship so easily it was almost ridiculous that they hadn't done it sooner.

I just love Tugger and Mistoffelees supporting each other, and knowing the other's worst fears, and being able to help them and give each other the confidence they need, not just Tugger being the only one to build up Mistoffelees.

Tugger for the headcanon meme?

☾ - sleep headcanon

There are a few ways I can interpret ‘the Rum Tum Tugger doesn't care for a cuddle/But I'll leap on your lap (…)’ + ‘I only like what I find for myself’:

Tugger likes to cuddle but he doesn’t like to be cuddled. Big spoon of the century.

(on a more serious note I do like the idea that he doesn’t like being held/weighed down while sleeping specifically because he doesn’t like feeling like he can’t get up if he so chooses, due to the ‘the cat’s sleeping on me I’m stuck here forever’ law. Especially if he was planning on leaving the person he’s sleeping with in the first place!)

Tugger likes to cuddle only if his cuddle-partner doesn’t want to. Thus you have Tugger spending his whole life fleeing the potential of a Munkuhug at the same time he’s bear hugging Mr. Misto ‘neat’ Offelees who hates having his fur rubbed every which way when Tugger grabs him.

Tugger likes to cuddle only if he initiates because he gets enough of random cats touching/grabbing at him on the daily, thank you very much.

★ - sad headcanon

Getting Tugger to admit he’s in a bad mood is difficult at best. There are few cats in the Junkyard/London who he’d sit down and have an actual conversation with due to ~celebrity worship~ and even fewer that he’d be willingly vulnerable with. And even then, it would probably take some prodding to get him to admit to it, and he’d probably only do so stiltedly. Tugger is very good at talking about his happy feelings. His bad/sad ones are harder for him to articulate.

☆ - happy headcanon

Tugger has a loudass purr. A LOUDass purr. His purr can drown out a person speaking at a normal volume. Sometimes (cough when talking to Munk cough ) he doesn’t want the cats around him to know exactly how happy he is, so he can keep it silent if he wants. Though you would be able to tell by touching his chest, which would be vibrating at a frequency undiscovered by man.

☠ - angry/violent headcanon

Tugger is *very* difficult to get a rise out of, and even when one does, it would be even harder to get him to show it, and even harder on top of that to get him to express that anger in a manner more intense than an annoyed eyeroll and a mane-toss.

✿ - S‌ex headcanon

Oh geez where to start. Heavily bisexual. Tends towards women but has literally zero comprehension on how a person can *not* be attracted to their own se‌x. -> If I know I am attractive then shouldn’t I be aware of other men being attractive? -> If I’m capable of getting myself off then how would I not be capable of doing so with other men? -> And so on. Same art, different angle, to him.

What I’m saying here is that Tugger doesn’t get straight people.

■ -  Bedroom headcanon

Cat: den in the Junkyard. Made from a broken record player. Not water or wind proof, sleeps in Munk’s den when it’s particularly cold out. He and Munk have just silently decided to not talk about it.

Human: Clothes all over his damn room. Stupidly expensive sheets. One of those insanely large beds that can hold like five people.

♡ - romantic headcanon

Only person he's ever has romantic feelings about is Misto (bc I'm tuggoffelees trash). After coming to terms with his new feelings, Tugger tends to feel a little lost about how to express them since he’d never done romance before, which tends to result in either extremely stereotypical/cliché acts of affection that he lifts straight from media/friends/etc or super bizarre things that Misto doesn’t even know how to decode.

My hc that Tugger is additionally bad at being vulnerable means he never just tells Misto about how he feels outright, & I hc Misto as autistic, so Tugger’s weird behavior always throws Misto off when it abruptly starts. I don’t have a single au or fic bouncing around in my head where their get-together goes smoothly, lmao.

♥ - family headcanon

Munkie & Deuteronomy ❤. I also like Macavity being an exiled Deuteronomy brother; I have a couple ideas for human aus where Mac isn’t evil, just kind of an jerk, and he and Tugger are a particularly efficient duo at giving Munk stress-induced heartburn.

Although I also like the hcs I’ve seen floating around where he’s distantly related to Bill Bailey/'ensemble Tugger' &/or rapper Tugger. And he hates both of them ❤.

☮ - friendship headcanon

Misto is his best friend. Tugger has a particular shortage of *actual* friends due to being so popular; he and Bomba would probably deny being friends if anyone asked, but they do talk sometimes. There’s a quick spot in cats 98 where you can see Tugger and Jerrie fistbump, so I like the idea of them being troublemakers together, though Tugger gets sick of Jerrie fast. & Tugger and Alonzo knew each other since they were very small, but they don’t like each other much, so they’re kind of reluctantly close.

♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon

Human: vinyl collection. Do not fucking *touch* his vinyl collection. Don’t breathe on it. Don’t look at it too hard. He has antiques in there. Limited edition shit.

Cat: collects shiny things, like jewelry and cool rocks.  He’s accompanied Jerrie and Teazer on a few of their heists in order to expand his collection. (look, they are professional cat-burglars and all, but sometimes windows are high up and they need a boost and Tugger is tall, alright?)

☯ - likes/dislikes headcanon

As much is Tugger is The Way He Is, he doesn’t care much for being touched or grabbed unless he initiates it.

▼ - childhood headcanon

By the time Tugger was born, Deuteronomy was already starting to get pretty old, so a teenaged Munkustrap took care of him most of the time. Baby Tugger’s favorite method of communicating his displeasure with any situation was screaming. Loudly. And at length.

As a kid he had a game called ‘Alonzo hit me’ where he would goad baby Alonzo into attacking him & then tell all the nearby adults (that were only partially paying attention to the playing kittens) that Alonzo just hit him out of nowhere. He would then watch like ^w^ as Alonzo got scolded. Alonzo still holds a grudge about this.

∇ - old age/aging headcanon

I do imagine Tugger starts to get more serious as he gets older; as of the period of the Ball I don't think he knows or cares much about fighting, but when he gets a little older he has Munk teach him how to hold his own and he helps patrol the Junkyard & such with Munk and Alonzo and all of them. He complains about it all the time, but everyone knows he willingly volunteered.

♒ - cooking/food headcanon

Human Tugger can't cook for shit. He burns or undercooks everything because he gets distracted or bored while cooking; he knows some good recipes and has varied taste, he just doesn't have the attention span for it.

☼ - appearance headcanon

Munk and Deuteronomy both have black fingerless gloves in most productions, so i love the idea that if Tugger takes off his leather gloves, underneath are markings that match the shape of his gloves nearly exactly, black fingerless markings just like munk & deut have. you know, like those *guy removes sunglasses to reveal he's wearing another identical pair underneath* gifs.

ൠ - random headcanon

I don't hc grizz as his mom like some do; though I do imagine he has a rough relationship with his mother. He gets his yellow markings & spots from her, though The Mane™ comes straight from Papa Deut. :)

Hi, Bestie! What is your favorite fic you've writen and which one was the most fun to write?

Ooooh OK so m'fave is probably Archaeologist's Guide, my tuggoffelees Indiana Jones fic. It took absolutely bloody FOREVER but I'm so proud of it. I got so many lovely comments and I've saved a lot of them to look back on when I'm feeling demotivated.

The most fun to write was definitely Cats vs Mummies. It was so silly and fun, my first long fic for my beloved Coricojerrie, and I got my first ever fan art from the fabulous @vifandom that I think about ALL THE TIME!

Me, writing Cats fics based on 90s adventure movies? It's more likely than you think.

Tuggoffeleteazer Headcanons

Y’all ready for the most bizarre ot3? (Well, it’s not that bizarre, but eh) Probably not, but y’all are getting it anyway *laughs maniacally.* So here’s some hcs for my favorite chaos trio :)

Ship name is pronounced “tug-off-fell-eh-teaser.”

Note: This is the one exception to my “Teazer is always a lesbian” rule ahjdskscdks. 

Teazer and Tugger were born into the tribe. Teazer has always had a huge crush on Tugger, but she tries to hide it or pretends like she's just joking. Tugger has never suspected a thing. 

Misto shows up one day and Tugger does his whole flirt thing, but Misto ignores him, so Tugger shrugs it off.

Teazer runs into Misto randomly, and they start chatting, Misto is very shy and anxious but Teazer can TELL that he has a wild streak somewhere. Eventually she gets him to fess up to his hidden mischievous nature.

They decide to team up and start pranking some of the Jellicles, and their first target? Tugger. Tugger is furious with the prank, but he doesn't know who did it.

Teazer and Misto decide to keep pranking Tugger, because it's really fun, and Tugger is getting more annoyed and more determined to figure out who the culprits are. 

Meanwhile, Teazer and Misto bond a lot over the pranks, and they find out that they have a lot in common, and thus they develop a very strong friendship.  

THEN, after yet another successful prank, Teazer and Misto reveal themselves by coming out from their hiding spot to laugh at Tugger. Tugger is angry at first, but then he sees their faces and suddenly he’s impressed, and then absolutely smitten. It’s now his goal to win their hearts.

It’s at this point that Teazer has developed a small crush on Misto along with her crush on Tugger. Misto is kinda all confused about his feelings at first, but he starts sorting it out with Teazer’s help.

Tugger is now SERIOUSLY pining for Misto and Teazer. After several attempts at wooing them, where Misto and Teazer were just kinda having fun seeing Tugger make a fool of himself, everyone admits their feelings. 

Headcanons post get-together

Misto and Teazer are the smart ones in the relationship (yes, Teazer is smart, this is in a universe where her personality is a bit of a cross between stage-Teazer and 2019-Teazer). They’re still mischievous, but they’re also very intelligent, and they enjoy poking fun at Tugger and his dumb himbo antics.

Misto and Teazer also enjoy pulling a heist or two together, or like a prank or something, and they drag Tugger along and it's just a whole bunch of shenanigans. 

Misto is little spoon, Teazer and Tugger are big spoons. BUT, when it’s just Teazer and Tugger, Teazer is big spoon, always.

this was my first narnia fic in FOREVER and i loved every minute of writing it. i'm working on a few other narnia fics currently, so this fic absolutely pushed my narnia hyperfixation back into the forefront of my mind

thrill of the chase

any time i get to write alongside one of @soh-da-meatball's amazing comics or artworks i literally go insane, and this fic is probably my favorite i've done to go along with one of her works. the tuggoffelees dynamic is absolutely *chef's kiss* imo
