Like, idk, I'm very chronically online so I've been on Reddit recently and there's been a full blown discourse over 1 post for the past few days that was literally only asking and giving suggestions on ways to add representation to that game. People being blatantly bigoted and people pretending as if blatantly bigoted people didn't exist in the Fandom and telling people that if they did see it to just block and report the user.

So seeing a wiztuber I had been following sometime just stream the game feels weird to me. Debating unfollowing them, but idk if that's reasonable or not. I want to genuinely believe that people like them playing the game are just unaware, but I don't know. After spending days debating blatantly bigoted people on Reddit, to seeing the general state of the world, to now this, it just all feels pointless. Like there's no longer a future. Maybe I'm just chronically online I just feel hopeless atm, I'm genuinely unwell.

briefly cutting the cringe to say that tumblr is the one social media site that i genuinely enjoy being on. instagram is mentally exhausting, tiktok is far too addictive and i was never on facebook or twitter, but tumblr is like in the goldielocks zone of social media. it's genuinely fun to use, but not so addictive that i spend hours scrolling through posts. i just check up from time to time, post a weird thing, reblog some posts, then go about my day. and there aren't even many ads that jump out and scream at you (boring ads i mean, not the weird tumblr ads). i just think social media in general should follow after tumblr so it isn't all toxic and hateful.

yesss okay i can talk more about gladebuzz i also made some doodles to go along since she wont be getting her intro comic for a bit. shes also gonna get a simplicity redesign here soon but

gladebuzz is sunstar’s deputy and im obsessed with her bcs in my head shes basically what id see as an actual respectable “elder” type. in any other situation she’d probably be leader, but she just doesnt want that position. she’s old n happy to kinda keep sunstar on a good path, he has a lot of energy n pure intention that she admires in him.

smth i wanna get across with these two is that they mostly have a friendship. n its a friendship thats lasted since sunstar was young. gladebuzz as a mostly outdoor kittypet would end up crossing path’s with a young sunstar and just keeping up with him. being a safespace. being good to come to for advice, etc.

I think its easy to get caught into this cycle of putting characters into nuclear family relationships. n while its not that necessarily gladebuzz isnt a “mother figure” i think the most important aspect of these two relationship is that they do see each other as peers. and gladebuzz has been a really good teacher and mentor figure to not only sunstar but a lot of other cats.

and because shes an older smarter kittypet she has a really good read on human language n human cues. shes really taught sunstar a lot in all this time n so when sunstar is slowly recruiting people to just come live with him gladebuzz was not only the first person he shared the idea with, she was the first person to commit to coming along

at her soul shes just really intelligent n deeply cares that everyone can feel like they have a place they can call home. i love her for it
