Can you do Caregivers Ming and Jin and Regressor Mei (Turning Red) headcanons?

ohhh this is a fun one

-Okay so originally Mei starts regressing alone. She loves her mother dearly but knows that if Ming ever found out it would end in more trouble than it's worth. A hundred questions about where she went wrong and if she's a bad mother and if her daughter's okay what's causing her to need this kind of coping mechanism. Put simply, a huge mess. -So for about 6 months she slowly starts regressing more and more in the comfort of her bedroom, behind a locked door. Her friends catch on pretty soon (about 3 months in) that Mei sometimes gets in these 'Childish moods' where she's a bit more giggly and carefree, but they don't think much of it. If anything, they're glad to see her happier and to know that she isn't as stressed as they'd be in her position.

-After catching her biting through one too many pens and even her lips or nails, they order her some chewable jewelry for her birthday. They're not the pastel water-filled teether her little side longed for but she loved and appreciated them nonetheless. Happy to have something 'safe' to chew on!

-And then one day, she makes a mistake. After getting up to go brush her teeth before bed, she forgets to lock her door. So, of course, tonight just has to be the night her father decides he wants to say goodnight to her before bed and in walks Jin, who's met with his daughter cuddled under the blanks watching Ni Hao Kai Lan with a bright red pacifier in her mouth and stars in her eyes. And Jin can't help the way his heart absolutely swells, seeing his normally too big, too busy, too burden laden little girl so soft and happy. But the stars are quickly replaced by tears as fear pools in Mei, she spits out the pacifier with haste and a trace of disgust, her body physically shaking with the intensity of her sobs.

Jin doesn't waste a second in running to comfort her. Reassuring her that he's not mad or upset in the slightest, even offering the pacifier back to her, which she adamantly declines. After a few minutes, she calms down and he tucks her in to bed, pressing a kiss to her forehead and wishing her sweet dreams.

The next morning, Jin's presented with an entire power point slideshow on age regression, the ups and downs the ins and outs, everything there is to know about it and then some. And Mei gains her very first Caregiver.

Jin respects his daughter's decision to not tell her mother and agrees to keep the secret as long as it isn't hurting either party!

-Jin's a playful and lenient caregiver. It turns out to be surprisingly easy to find time for the two of them to be alone without fear of Ming intruding, and when they do Mei always has tons of fun. Sometimes it's baking something in the kitchen, sometimes it's watching a movie, sometimes it's digging up old toys out of the garage. Mei finds it difficult to regress the first few times, sill a bit fearful of being so venerable outside of her locked bedroom, but once she gets familiar she regresses harder than ever. And Jin is always more than happy to get to take care of his little girl all over again. -It only takes a month of regressing with Jin for little Mei to miss her mom/mama/mommy

(I think her nickname would change based on Mei's headspace age. Mom 10+, Mama 5-10, Mommy <5. But it's totally up to you!)

Jin is absolutely heartbroken when little Mei starts asking for Ming, an he's not sure how to explain to her why she's not allowed to see her, so he normally tells her something about her mom being busy with work, etc. About a week after this starts, Mei comes to him asking for his help to tell Ming.

Together they set up a modified powerpoint on Agere and tell her on a Friday night, so that she has time to process it all.

-Ming's more than a bit apprehensive at first, but Jin being there really helped. She was a bit upset that he found out first, but when she took a second to think about her initial reaction she understood why Mei went to Jin first.

They start off Saturday with a little morning, Mei's in a WAY bigger headspace than normal because she's still a bit afraid, but Ming slips into caregiver mode surprisingly easily. She manages to be this perfect balance of cautious and caring, without being condescending. By the time Breakfast is over Mei is practically in babyspace, and she's attached to her mother's hip. Constantly holding onto her hand or arm. Very touchy/cuddly.

-Once Ming gets familiar with it, she support's Mei's regression wholeheartedly, even scheduling little days every weekend on her calendar. She and Jin take turns looking after Mei, but Mei's favorites are days/nights where both her parents are free to take care of her. She especially loves movie nights with ice cream and cuddles and lots of popcorn! Uhhh specific cg headcanons bc I'm not sure if the above is what you asked for <///3 Jin - Again, super playful and lenient. Mei can basically puppy dog eyes him into letting her so just about anything. Extra cookie? Later bedtime? Help packing up toys? You name it, she can get away with it. Jin really doesn't mind and Mei hardly takes advantage of that.

Because he loves to cook, he sets up lots of simple treats they can make together. Usually heatless and quick silly snacks, he's really good about picking things suitable for Mei's headspace! He's got 'a thousand and one' tiny bowls and dishes (according to Mei) for prepping ingredients to make things easier. Mei especially likes their mini cheesecakes! Super into playing along with games and things. (Think Bandit Heeler/Bluey's dad if you've seen Bluey! )

Ming -'Strict' but not really. Like very much the more logical and rule oriented of the two (her and Jin) but still very much willing to bend and break rules for a good teary eyed pout. Super cuddly and touchy with Mei (who absolutely loves it). Very sweet, and unfairly good at babying Mei and making her feel absolutely itty bitty. (She and Jin have little 'competitions' about who can make her regress smaller)

She spoils her baby and she's proud of it. Mei just has to mention something she wants more than two times and consider it purchased. Jin can't even be mad at her for it. Mei's face just absolutely lights up every single time. She's giggling and clapping and bouncing. Her whole body just bubbles up with joy! And it's never something expensive either, everything she wants is less than 10$ usually less than 5$ even.

"AHHHHHHH" Meilen Lee had yelled from the bathroom,what would have happened next wasn't even guessed by her own mother,the one who experienced the monster first hand,but didn't think her own daughter was able to show it yet,so when Ming Lee walked in on her daughter, crying and trying to calm herself down,Ming new something had happened,now weather she was ready to except Mei Mei had already been gifted her red panda,and she was already ready to get rid of it.

"NO NO NO NO I can handle it I can handle it!!" Ming Said over the phone but the call had already ended Ming looked up at her husband who looked just as worried as her,if not more,this wasn't what Ming wanted to happen, her whole family,maybe even her brother would show up just to Mei Mei banish her red panda spirit away for good..there hadn't been a ritual since her younger brother, y/n had his red panda spirit sealed away for good.. so much had happened that night,and for a boy to get the blessing?!! Had already made the family distent,well just for one,who was already struggling and just to be shut out by the family? What would happen to Mei Mei if something were to go wrong..would Ming,Mei and Jin be shut out from the family..?

"y/n! It's the phone! It's for you" y/p/n (your partner's name) said as they walked in to the room y/n had been working in for the past few hours "hm? Who is it?" Y/n said looking up from his papers to see his partner holding the phone looking nervous but tried to keep calm "Uhm,I think you should find that out yourself..." They said handing the phone to the man on the other side of the table. Y/n took the phone and put it up to his ear to hear the sound of his mother voice,someone he wasn't too fond of, he didn't hate his mother just... Mildly disliked.

"hello?" Y/n said in to the phone as he leaned back on his chair he sat one "my sweet boy y/n...how are you?" The voice he had grown so much to hate was on the other side,y/n crinkled his nose at the sound "what do you want mother." Y/n said sharp with poison making sure it stung a bit "don't be so bitter,be lucky I'm even reaching out to you." Mother cut the bullshit quickly as ever just as y/n did as well "I thought I told you unless someone died I don't wanna hear your voice." Y/n said sitting up forward hunching over getting out a pen and paper as he drew scribbles on the paper the call felt like it was gonna last forever,at least get something to entertain the man waiting for an answer "it wasn't my idea to call you,but we need all the people we can get in the family." Mother said no emotion in the tone she gave,y/n just sighed with annoyance "what's happened now." Not even bothering to form it to a question y/n had enough at this point "Ming's daughters panda has shown up...we need to banish it as soon as we can,may 25 is the next red moon, we expect you to be in Toronto at her house." Mother said, silence filled the call "what's her address..?" Y/n asked quickly and quietly not wanted to stay on call much longer "it's _____ the Lee temple remember?" She said hanging up the phone right after.

Y/n sat there, thinking long and hard about what had just happened,along with the news he had just heard "y/n dear? Is everything ok?" Y/p/n said walking in looking worried since the room had been quiet for some time "I have to head to Toronto in two weeks" y/n said looks up at his partner who looked shocked knowing who lived in Toronto "do you want me to come along..?" They asked sitting down at a chair that was placed in the room just for them "no,I want you to stay here..I won't be staying for long,I'll be there for a ritual and then I'll be gone the next morning anyway." He said leaning back again to try and relax "but you know how they are...are you sure?" They insisted again but also didnt wanna go, y/n's family did not approve in y/p/n and y/n's relationship, although,y/n's family didn't even really like y/n.. "I'll be ok..like I said,I'll be there for my niece, the ritual and then I'll leave and stay out of the way again.." he said softly before rubbing his eyes "plus,I probably won't even be welcomed for the dinner before hand.." y/n said sitting up and going back to work,y/p/n stood up and gave their husband a quick peck in the lips before leaving the room"I know you'll do what you feel is most comfortable with you..but if you need me to book a flight back right away I'm one call away love.." they said right before closing the door to the study room.

*knock knock* y/n softly did on Ming's door, his hand went to his side as he sighed.. fear filled his body as the door opened "y/n? Your here late!" Ming Said swinging open the door and giving her younger brother a hug which he returned "haha.. I know,but you know how everyone is with me after what happened.." he said pulling away and looking at his older sister "well they just left,Mei's inside and so is Jin,did y/p/n not come?" Ming asked moving away for the door so her brother could come in "ahh I'd love to see my favorite niece and my brother in law,and no,they tried to come along,but I knew it wasn't gonna be a pretty time.." y/n said laughing at the end as Ming agreed with him "mei Mei! Someone's here for you!!" Ming called out to her daughter. Mei walked out of her room to see her favorite uncle at the door "uncle y/n!!" Mei said running up to him and giving him a hug "ahh my favorite!!" He said Turing in to his panda form to hug her, y/n's panda form was small, about the same size as Mei's if not a little smaller! Ming also hated his y/n how y/n would show her daughter the panda especially since Mei had her panda form as well "ok y/n,your officially not the only panda in this family" Ming Said dry laughing as Mei pulled away from the hug, pink smoke filled the room as y/n went back to his normal form a tall lanky man with bright red hair that had the odd grey hair it "oh I know,it makes me feel a little old to be honest,I remember when she was just a little girl!!" He said pinching Mei mei's cheeks as she giggled and knocked his hands off of her face "your not THAT old! Oh! I have to show you some of my art projects I've been working on come on!" She said dragging y/n to her room as Ming and Jin laughed and went back to what they were doing before hand..

"I'm sorry y/n,I just really need to talk to you.." Mei said closing her bedroom door as she walked to sit on her bed,y/n sat opposite to her in the bed "of course..I'm probably your only family member who gets you the most anyway.." he said facing the small girl who looked sad and stressed.. "I just..I feel like a monster! I mean,look at me! Out of all the familys I know non have red panda forms.." she said shifting in and out of her panda form just to show her uncle what she was living with “oh mei mei its not so bad you may hate it but what about your friends? they must love it since your like soft and fluffy!” y/n said Being as honest as he could, he knew the struggle and still does! y/n didn’t go through with the ritual like everyone had thought was going to happen. Who would not go through with it everyone is the family hated their panda forms, but y/n was a little different to say the least, sure he hated some parts of it but so much good came out then bad, including the fact he made great money due to it, everyone wanted to see the panda and would pay big bucks just to see! “Mei Mei it isn't as bad as you think. It may seem bad, but I trust you'll make the right decision if you want to keep it or not..” y/n said softly as Mei looked at him with the look of what should I do... “but what if I wanna keep my panda but then mom hates me? Along with everyone else! But if I don’t I get loved by everyone but then my friends will still hate me...” Mei said curling up on her bed facing away from y/n as she cried. “Your friends don’t hate you!!” he said putting a hand on her back as she cried more “they do actually, I screwed up big time and now I'm pretty sure they hate me.” she said softly as she remembered everything that happened at Tyler's birthday party “well Mei the only thing I have to say to that is we gotta talk to them!” y/n said trying to remember how it went when his friends started to hate him.. But her just never went back to them, for Mei though he could tell it was different her and friends had been through thick and thin together. “I don’t think that will work, I threw them under the bus for something and now when I see them in class they turn away from me and don’t even bother to look my way...” she said rolling on her back to look at the roof “i never had that happen. But I had something else..” y/n said looking at the wall when he said his words “like what?” Mei said sitting up as she grew more curious about his story “well, back when I was 15, I had gotten my panda. In the family rules or I guess what was supposed to happen the boys weren't supposed to get it or it to happen to then... So when I walked out of my room that morning to go eat breakfast grandma or my mother and my sisters had a thing or two to say to me, I hated it, I got picked on for it to at school, so much to I used to skip because my friends used to shove me to to walls just to see the panda so they could get action from the girls they wanted to date. Of course it never worked but they still did it, after I thought more about it I wanted to keep it, not only did I make money with it I was planning to move away from this family as I had made quite a bit to afford a small apartment, in which the night I was supposed to be getting ready I was already on a train ride to where I was moving to, I finished school, went to college got a fantastic job and then I met the love of my life and before I knew it I was getting contacted because you were born..I'm not saying pack up and runaway because that was stupidest chose I ever made in my entire life but what I am saying is don’t screw up like I did.. If you hurt someone apologize don’t just move away from it all, and if someone your friends with is using your for your gift don’t think your being an ass for leaving then cuz your not and if the family starts to drift apart from it all.. Don’t be afraid to reach out to them..because one day..they will be all you have..” y/n said with true honesty in his words, telling his story, not then same but his moral was don’t run away from the problem, but confront it when its time.. And Mei knew exactly when to do that...

“jin! Y/n! Clear the table now!” grandma lee said with her hands on her hips as she was very close to yelling at the rest of the family, “yes mam! Both jin and y/n said picking up chairs and bringing them to the basement, jin put a chair down a think could be heard of something hit the ground, “what was that jin?” y/n asked as jin picked up a camera that had started playing a video of mei and her friends goofing around with her panda. Jin smiled at the video “its just a video of her and her friends” jin said showing the little screen to y/n “you know, she really misses them..” y/n said to jin “ming just doesn't wanna deal with it I guess.. or I think its actully because I don’t think she wants to lose her daughter..” jin said to y/n with a sad voice, he just wanted his daughter to be happy.. Why didn’t ming want that as well.. ‘jin! Y/n! Its time!” ming yelled from the top of the stairs both y/n and jin looked at each other before walking up the stairs to the temple part of the house to see everyone in there place y/n quickly grabbed his place and then soon the ritual started.

Pink smoke went everywhere mei could only be seen hugging her bright red tale her panda was still there and very much real “wha.. What happened!?!?” grandma lee said as everyoen rushed to her aid as well did y/n even though he was pushed away he still tried “mei mei its ok! We can do it again!!” ming said going to her daughter “no! Im keeping it!” mei said to everyone in the room “no...no no you cant!” ming said to her daughter who was already pushing everyone away, making her way to the front gates of the temple “let go of me!!” mei said trying to push her famly way from her as she tried to leave “im going to the concert!!” mei said as she sent her mother flying back as she swung open the door and ran out.

“this is all your fault y/n your no good panda spirit just runnied everything!! What is wrong with you?! Who even said you could show up!? No one likes you and you know that! Everything went to hell after you left! What makes you think y/n coming back will make it better?!” ming yelled at the poor man who just wanted to be there for his family..the one thing he had other then his partner.. He just tried to make things right “ming..wow.. I just..wow I really thought you changed ming.. All I wanted to do was show up for my niece..thats all but oh no ming, I guess your just so high on your own ride that you don’t even realize that she was struggling! She's scared of you ming!she loves you but at this point I wouldn’t be surprised if she hates you!” y/n said yelling at ming who already looked like she was gonna kill something and she almost did “y/n lee what is wrong with you, I was so exited to see you and to welcome you in to my house but then you go and have your little talk with my little mei mei and now look at her! Shes falling in to your foot steps and now she is running away and going to a concert!” ming yelled as her neckless started to glow as it cracked more and more “oh yeah ming? Shes their right now probably apologizing to her friends all because you made her wreck her friendship!” y/n yelled as his panda form shifted in “shut it y/n..how could my little mei mei do this to her own mother!” ming yelled as light exploded as well as pink smoke everywhere..

“MEI MEI” a booming voice could be heard from the top of the Skydome Mei Mei and her friends looked up in horror to see a huge red panda terroirng over every one that was in the sadiom “MEI MEI” Ming said breaking the roof open and throwing herself in to the Skydome Mei and her friends spread out and attempt to run but a huge hand came down and grabbed Mei and swepped her up in to the palm of her hand taking Mei basically flying to the sky.

“where's jin? Jin! "Get the cerical!”grandma yelled clapping her hands at the rest of the family that had just shown up to set Mings panda back to the bamboo forest “y/n you stay as far away from this as you can Ming is already stressed enough.” grandam said along with a few of the aunties as well “no I'm not just going to sit this one that’s my niece in there and by God, I will help her out! "He said standing up from where he was pushed in to and shifted to his panda form and ran out to help Mei Mei who bouncing off Ming getting more and more air making it so she could face her mother right in the eyes just to hell her what she was feeling in that moment or what she had been feeling for the past few weeks.

One hit in the nose is all it took to send Ming and Mei flying to the ground Mei on one side of the Skydome and Ming on the other side, y/n rushed to the young girl's side to help her up and check to see if she was ok, as soon as Mei Mei had seen Ming knocked out on the ground, she knew she had to help to whatever she could do. Mei pulled he mothers fur as much as she could but there's only so much y/n and Mei could do two weak people pulling someone as big as a giant with only a few minties remain to get her panda back to where it was before this all happened y/n closed his eyes for what felt like a second but when he opened her saw his family all around in there hated panda forms pulling the third youngest of their family to the center of the cercal grandma soon started to chant the main chant everyone knew but it wasn’t enough no matter how much everyone in the family yelled it, it didn’t take long till Meilin's own friends started to sing their parody of what seems to be a 4*town song, it didn’t take one blink of an eye to start to hear the band who was the main root of what started meis and Mings fight one stream of a light and everything went a blinding white...

“there they are...” Grandma had said pulling her daughter Ming in to where everyone was standing, tall bamboo could only be seen for miles and miles on end... A place where only the true banishing could happen, something y/n never got to see on his night.. And to be honest he wasn’t to sad about it “I'm sorry..” Ming said as she started to cry as her mother hugged her “hush.. Don’t apologize.. I'm your mother..” she said whipping Mings tears that starred to fall more.. She pulled away and walked over to her younger brother, the only boy that was born in to the family/I. I'm so, so sorry..”she said to the man Infront of her he could only pull her in for a hug and whisper in to his sisters ear ‘its ok Ming..I know you didn’t mean it..’ he said quietly to her as she hugged tighter “but I do feel like you should say something to Mei Mei..” y/n said pulling away to face his older sisters red puffy face “I know.. If she does keep it..can you guide her through it y/n?” she asked pulling away as y/n nodded to her.

“I'm sorry..”grandma lee said walking towards her only son who stood baffled at his mother who he had never even wanted to see, he came and showed up for the one family he was welcomed in.. And she was not apart of it, but just to keep peace for now, he had let it slide and smiled softly at her and nodded it didn’t take long before the whole family went through the window where the panda would be freed.. y/n saw his old self.. With his dark brown shaggy hair that he used to wear all the time, now he just had styled to it looked better but he never changed that much. His dark brown eyes were no longer red like his hair.. “do you miss your old self?” Mei Mei asked looking at her old self as well.. “no, no I don’t actually.. Because the people who love me now love me for who I truly am.. And not someone I'm not..I assume your friends did the same..?”he asked the young girl who stood beside him facing there old self's “no matter who I am, or what I look like, they will love me no matter what..because they like me for who I am..” she said playing with her hair to see how different she looked with out her red hair “they all say its curse but.. Its not a curse..its what brings family together..” y/n said looking down at Mei Mei who softly smiled as sun-yee took then in to the sky and gave them a soft smile to both of them..

It had been two weeks since everything went down, now was the time y/n needed to go home, he had loved to stay longer but he knew it was time to head home.. “y/n do you have to go?” Mei said as she sounded like she was going to cry “I must go..but ill be back just for you..how does that sound?” he said pulling away and smiling but he knew would be another few months till he was welcomed back. He just knew it.. “Mei Mei..I want you to remember this one thing ok..?” he said quietly to me as she nodded back quickly “remember.. The panda.. Its not a curse. Its what brings family together..” he said fixing his jacket before grabbing his bags and saying good bye to everyone.. The one thing he did before the door closed was shift in to a panda and hug his older sister. Just like before..
