I thought Ace would figure it out and confront Nancy, but I couldn't have anticipated how GOOD that final scene would be. It's smart to get the curse out in the open in the first episode, leaving the rest of the season for a new level of Nace angst and development.

Majority of the posts in the Nancy Drew tag is about Nace and while Nick and George have so healthily moved on from each other, my heart still hurts that they're not each other's endgame after all the build up. Going by the show's timeline, they were going to get married only a few months ago after fighting so hard for each other. Now, George is going to the other side of the continent to law school and Nick is going to be road tripping with his new partner. Like they're happy and hopeful for their new futures and are supportive of each other's decision, and while I'm happy for them, I'd be a lot happier if they were happily together still.

I seem to be on a roll with Noga now considering the women of the Drew Crew pole dancing on the show, and people talking about an episode where Nancy and the gang go undercover as strippers. It’s a very NSFW multi-chapter AU where Ace is a stripper at George’s bachelorette party and hires Nancy to investigate attacks on the dancers, and Nancy goes undercover as a stripper (with a surprised Ace watching along with a few other choice characters).

Maybe you’re looking in the wrong direction?

Ace has been so adamant about wanting to go back, about wanting him and Nancy to return to the way things were - getting along – getting by – coexisting but hardly ever thriving really.

And I think the realization that Ace came to through various events - especially at the end of the episode (thanks Chunky) was he can’t go back – not because it’s unsurmountable that people can’t break up and be cordial and move on – but that it’s impossible to return to a place that never was - that place of just friends he wants to return to so badly with him and Nancy doesn’t exist -  it never did.

Is that ever what it was? Friendship and nothing more.

That’s never what he and Nancy were - they were always something more - they always had a spark - a connection - a vibe. They themselves might have categorized their relationship as friendship, but hearts complicate matters.

Love always does.

Yes there was envy over another guy, but there was also the moment earlier at the Historical Society - the moment when he wasn’t saving his friend - he was saving his love – the love of his life – he always was.

And so in the next couple of episodes, I think it’s going to be about turning around, regrouping, rerouting, and moving down a different path – not forcing him and Nancy down a road that was never paved, but the one they were traveling down all along....

Despite everything that has happened in Nancy Drew, the one thing that I can't get over is that everything from season 1 to now (season 4) supposedly happened in 1 year? "The Crooked Banister" marked the one year anniversary of Nancy losing her mother and like it just doesn't track with everything that's happened. It also makes all the relationships that everyone has been in so insane. Like in 1 year, Nancy's gone from dating Nick, to Owen Marvin and seeing him die/try to get over that, to Gil, to was going to start something with Agent Park, to Ace (each other's greatest love), and now to Tristan (possible lovers in a past life). Not just Nancy, we have Nick and George being with other people at the start in season 1 to getting together and being serious enough to consider marriage to now on to other love interests, all within 1 year. And Carson too, in that episode where he didn't want his current lawyer girlfriend to use his wife's cup and she's like it's okay if you still mourning her, but then at the end, Carson's like it's okay, I have to move on. Now that we have a timeline, I'm like seriously? Your wife just died last year and you're already in a serious relationship with someone else?

I really hope I'm wrong somewhere because this just makes everyone seems so fickle.
