Could you make something like where klaus' girlfriend/wife is really attractive and all of his enemies want her(like lucien or tristan)?
Everybody wants to steal my girl
Pairing: Klaus Mikaelson x reader Summary: Klaus (and you) have been struggling with hybrid's jealousy for 1,000 years. It doesn't help that you're stunningly beautiful and that all his enemies want to steal you from him. But Klaus will not let his wife ever leave his side—or worse, lose her feelings for him. Even if he is "slightly" insecure about himself. Warning(s): jealous Klaus, jealous reader, a bit smut (I think) but not 18+, Klaus being an insecure puppy Word count: 7k I guess

She's been my queen since we were sixteen, we want the same things We dream the same dreams, alright, alright?
Klaus stormed into the abattoir in a rage. He promised himself that he would rip Lucien's heart out of his chest as soon as the circumstances were right, making sure he had suffered enough for his heinous act beforehand.
Klaus was the only one who could flirt with his wife.
He'd have to make sure that this pathetic creature got the message the next time they met. Lucien had condemned his life to death anyway, but Klaus might have had the pity to spare him from his creative torture.
Y/N didn't like it when he got blood on the floor. And when their daughter Hope came into the world, she tried to keep the violence around her to a minimum. Which didn't mean Klaus shouldn't fight every potential suitor of his baby's mother. Hope would agree with him if she was old enough.
When he calmed down, he decided to look into the room of their miracle child. He smiled, leaning against the doorframe as he saw Y/N putting their daughter to sleep. She sang an Old Norse lullaby they both knew from their human days.
Klaus flashed back to the days when he was just a teenager, head over heels in love with the daughter of their village chief. Then he wouldn't even have had a chance to hold her hand in public. His family was lower in the village hierarchy, which meant he could only dream of marrying a(n) Y/N. Which didn't stop them from falling in love. And turning her into a vampire with the Mikaelson siblings—the only thing he owed to his mother.
They both wanted and dreamed of the same thing: being together. They've had their ups and downs over the past thousand years, but they've always stayed together. She was the only person in their family that Klaus had never stabbed. Besides, he couldn't. She was a hybrid, just like him. After breaking his curse, it turned out that their lost dreams of having a family together weren't all that lost. Hope appeared. And they both hoped she wouldn't be their only child. But first, they had to deal with their enemies.
Klaus knew he would do anything to protect his girls. And in moments like this—when Y/N smiled softly at him, holding their sleeping daughter in her arms—he knew that his efforts were damn well worth the hard work and sleepless nights.
His wife might just not be so irresistibly, wonderfully beautiful at every fucking moment of the day. It would have saved him a lot of nerves and fits of jealousy every time someone flirted with his goddess.
"Tough day?" Y/n asked, placing her hand on his cheek. Klaus didn't even notice when she approached him.
"It's better since I've seen you, love." he murmured, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her to his chest to bury his nose in her delightfully fragrant hair.
Klaus adored every inch of her.
I know, I know, I know for sure Everybody want to steal my girl Everybody want to take her heart away Couple billion in the whole wide world Find another one cause she belongs to me
On days like this, Klaus was more murderous than usual.
Y/N knew full well that after agreeing to Tristan's polite request for a dance, Klaus was going to explode tonight. Not that she wanted to dance with the brother of a bitch who wanted to take her husband. Tristan's compliments to her, or even the subtle hints of his attraction to her, weren't pleasant to her either.
That was the plan: she was to distract Tristan while Klaus and Freya searched their house. The only thing Elijah didn't take into account was Klaus' enormous tendency to get jealous every time he touched her or received a compliment from another man.
Y/N could have sworn she saw Kol in the crowd eating a pack of popcorn, waiting for things to happen.
So she wasn't surprised when Klaus appeared at one point, snatching her from Tristan's arms with a warning growl. Or that he later marked her neck carefully and every inch of her body that had been contaminated by another man's hands.
Y/N was HIS and no one could ever change that. Not when he was around.
Elijah then burst into your room, being very annoyed at his brother's behavior. But honestly? He should have known better than to hope Klaus wouldn't give in to his jealousy. Tristan was lucky he didn't rip his hands off on the spot. On that day, the second of their first-turned vampires handed down a death sentence. Klaus wouldn't let anyone steal his wife.

The cup of bitterness overflowed in Klaus when Lucien approached you on your annual "wedding anniversary" date. Yes, Klaus dared to show enough of his sentimental and tender side to declare this day a national holiday. No murders and no bodies on this day - that's what he promised you thousands of years ago.
But when he brought your order to the table and saw Lucien shamelessly flirting with you in front of him, inviting you for a drink at his suite, he seriously considered breaking that oath.
Unfortunately, he couldn't do that. He would rather avoid your wrath.
So instead, he walked over to your table with a sly, confident smirk, put the food on the table, and, grabbing your chin, pulled you close to kiss you passionately in front of the vampire.
He was marking his territory.
You smiled as Niklaus ignored Lucien's awkward grunt, only kissing you fiercely. He only let you go when he was sure your lips were swollen enough from his kiss. He smirked at your slightly disheveled state.
"Were you very bored without me, love?" he asked, playing with your hair.
"I kept her company, Klaus." the hybrid winced at Lucien's voice. He mustered up all the rest of his patience and turned his head, acknowledging the vampire's presence.
"Oh really? I didn't notice you, Lucien. You can go now." he brushed him off, turning back to you. Disgust in his gaze gave way to pure adoration. You were always amazed at how quickly you could change his mood with just your presence.
"Nik, sweetheart, it's very inappropriate to talk like that to our oldest friends, isn't it? Lucien, darling, we'll continue our conversation someday. You have to forgive me, but I promised my grumpy husband that I would focus all my attention on him today." you excused the two of you with a cute smile. Lucien just nodded, blushing.
You grabbed Klaus' arm and pulled him out of the bar before he lunged at the vampire.
"Niklaus, my heart and soul, you know I'm only yours, right?" you asked, kissing his cheek to stifle the surge of his jealousy.
"Yes. Which doesn't mean that this creature knows it too. And I'm not grumpy." he grunted, the furrow of irritation on his forehead deepening as he remembered Lucien's sweet words to you. He wanted to vomit as soon as you answered him in an equally nice and polite tone. "Every enemy of mine has a crush on you anyway; even my father doesn't feel disgusted and murderous toward you."
"Yes? You should have seen Aurora's face when she passed us a few minutes ago. She must have sent Lucien here to spoil our evening."
"Wait a minute, love... is that why you've drawn me to this very nice, unexpected, passionate, mind-blowing kiss in the middle of the street?" he asked with an incredulous smirk, watching with satisfaction as a treacherous blush crept onto your cheeks.
"What am I supposed to say? You're as territorial in this relationship as I am. Besides, we don't want to give our enemies the false impression that we see anything but each other, do we?"
"It's good to know you get jealous of me from time to time too, love."
"Time to time? Please, have you seen yourself in the mirror? I'm still at war with all these horny women who want to steal you from me. Such cheekbones, wonderful eyes, and an English accent are the dreams of many."
"Maybe, but I'm probably the one who chases away the most suitors out of the two of us. You have no idea how many people have had a crush on you over the centuries."
Na na na na na na na, na na na na na na na Oh yeah Na na na na na na na, na na na na na na na Alright Na na na na na na na, na na na na na na na She belongs to me
There was going to be a celebration of the summer solstice in their village. Young Klaus was just waiting for you to sneak out with him after the ceremonial rites for your own celebration.
You've been courting each other for over three years now, and today Klaus was finally going to pluck up the courage (with the help of Elijah and Rebekah and Kol's teasing) to propose to you. The ring was safely in his pocket, and the sword was well hidden where the two of you were supposed to spend a romantic evening.
Everything was planned and ready. Nothing could go wrong today. He anticipated and ready for every circumstance, and his mother (the only one of your parents who knew about this secret relationship) promised him to keep his father away from your tryst's place.
But it never occurred to him that another man would try to steal you away from him.
Thor Ragnarsson, the strongest and most powerful young warrior from their village, has been dancing with you since the beginning of the night. And it didn't seem like he was going to let you go that easily, and after the rumors he heard from Kol, Klaus found out that the man wanted to court you.
Klaus had a panic attack. How could he—weak, one of the many sons of a lesser warrior—compete with such a man for your hand? Thor could give you much more than he can. He was stronger, richer, more famous, and handsomer... No. He couldn't think like that. Not when you were destined for each other by fate, stars, spirits, gods, or whatever was watching over you. He had to do something, and fast, before that son of a bitch charms you and you forget the boy who wrote you poems and painted your portraits on the bark of trees.
Klaus may not have been the strongest, but he had something that many of their villagers lacked. He had the cunning, brains, and skill of the best assassin. He will snatch you from this brute's clutches. But first he'll have to figure out how to do it (and take control of the deepening feelings of jealousy that clouded his good judgment.)
Thor only had two weaknesses. Beautiful women and strong drinks. He doubted that he would get drunk so easily; they don't know each other, so even if he offered him something stronger to drink (with an admixture of sleeping herbs), he would probably refuse and sense Klaus' ruse. So he had to resort to Plan B.
"Rebekah!" he shouted, trying to find his sister in the dancing crowd. He found her pretty quickly. He grabbed her hand and pulled her away from talking to some man (whom he and Elijah needed to check out in the future) and dragged the protesting blonde to a place where they could watch you and Thor. "I need your help. Do you see this skunk who is talking to my Y/N? Please distract him so I and Y/N can run away from there. You know I wanted to propose to her tonight, and that lesser man is ruining my whole plan!"
"Couldn't you have asked Tatia? She would have helped you because of Elijah."
"They got out of here before Kol could scare off another woman. Please, Rebekah. Won't you do it for your favorite brother?"
"She better say yes." she sighed in defeat, threading herself into the dancing crowd. After a moment, she hit Y/N's partner and winked at Klaus. He didn't waste a second. He ran over to you and, making sure everyone was too busy to notice you, threw you over his shoulder and took you from there.
"Nik! You can put me down now." she laughed at him as they entered the forest. Klaus reluctantly set her down, immediately drawing her into a passionate kiss, which she eagerly returned. "What took you so long?"
"I had to make sure the inconvenience wouldn't bother us when we sneaked out."
"That inconvenience has a name. Besides, Thor's just my friend. We both know very well that my heart belongs to only one man in this village."
"And who is it, love?"
"Well, he's quite tall; he has blonde hair and beautiful, mesmerizing blue eyes; and he's artistically talented. I've never seen more beautiful things than the ones he's made, and he's soooo jealous of me, but that's only because he loves me and he's pretty insecure about himself. Thinking about it like that, I guess I should make sure he knows how much I desire and love him so he doesn't come up with some weird ideas. What do you think?"
"I think this man was born under a lucky star to be worthy of a miracle like you."
"I forgot to add that he charms me with his words like no one else." you murmured, placing a tender kiss on his lips, which accelerated the rhythm of your already madly beating hearts. He pushed you into a tree, wrapping his arms around your waist and holding you close, not wanting the world to let this moment between you ever end. You pulled away from him, placing your hand gently on his cheek. You smiled, looking at him with love in your eyes as he turned his head to kiss your hand. "I dare not agree with you. I'm the lucky one to have you, Niklaus. And believe me, nothing on this earth can change the way I love you. Nothing is even close enough to steal me from your safe, loving arms."
"So what do you say when..." he knelt down in front of you, trembling with nerves as he took a hand-made ring from his pocket. "Will I offer you my heart, soul, and body forever? You have my eternal devotion, loyalty, and love regardless of your answer, but know that it will be a real honor and a gift from the gods to call you my wife and to have a family with you. I want nothing more in this world than for you to be mine, Y/N. And I may not be the best choice; I am not very rich or strong, but I promise you that I will try to be the best husband for you."
"Oh, Niklaus, you stupid, insecure man... of course I will marry you!" you screamed with tears in your eyes, throwing yourself at him and knocking the two of you to the ground. You both laughed happily as you kissed each other's faces. Klaus gently slid the ring onto your finger.
One satisfying thought lingered in his mind as you both lounged in the field, embracing each other and watching the stars, talking about your future together.
She belongs to me.
Kisses like cream, her walk is so mean And every jaw drops when she's in those jeans, alright, alright? I don't exist if I don't have her The sun doesn't shine, the world doesn't turn, alright, alright?
"Any party you forgot to invite me to?" Klaus flinched at your pretentious, cold tone of voice. He turned away from the table to explain why Lucien, Aurora, and Tristan were sitting at the table with him and his brothers but fell silent, trying to keep his jaw from dropping.
"You look breathtaking as always, darling. Tristan and I missed having a beautiful woman at this table." Klaus stared murderously at Lucien as he kissed your hand, ignoring Aurora's offended snort. He knew you did it on purpose.
This morning, when he asked you to take Hope to visit Aunt Hayley for the day, you were wearing a completely different outfit. Now you were wearing those annoyingly tight jeans that showed off your curves perfectly, and you knew he loved them. Paired with a plunging neckline blouse, diamond jewelry, and little makeup, you looked like a goddess. Aurora could hide in the septic tank with her elegant, short dress.
You smirked at Aurora, sitting down between Lucien and Tristan, across from your husband. And that, too, was a deliberate ploy. You were out of reach of his hands to tease him with your beauty even more, regaling those idiots by your side with your heavenly presence. Klaus will make sure you pay for your little feat tonight.
He shot you a warning look as he noticed Lucien inching slightly closer to you, but you ignored him completely, smiling at some comment from the younger vampire.
Oh, yes, you will definitely be punished.
"Something wrong, sweetheart?" you asked him, knowing full well where his thoughts wandered.
"No. You're messing up the world order by fawning over this scoundrel instead of sitting next to me."
"Perfectly fine, love. Just admiring your beauty tonight."
"Only mine?" you asked, casually swirling her glass of wine and glancing meaningfully at Aurora, who tensed slightly under your gaze. You smiled meanly, ignoring Elijah's staring at you with irritation.
After failing to get anything meaningful out of Lucien (Klaus wouldn't let you get close enough to use his tricks), Elijah figured Aurora's weakness for Klaus could be exploited. But this time he didn't anticipate that you'd pick up on your husband's jealous behavior.
And you were much worse than the mighty hybrid.
"You know you're the only one I belong to, love." Klaus finally answered, shocking the younger vampires. They had never witnessed the world's deadliest vampire softly professing his love and devotion to you. You smiled sweetly at him, offering him your hand, which he kissed without hesitation. You shot a malicious, defiant look at Aurora.
They thought he had you wrapped around his finger, but it turns out to be quite the opposite...

"Cheer up, she's just talking to him and not even of her own free will, Nik." you heard Kol calming down your husband when you tried to get information from Lucien.
For some reason, a vampire who has been impersonating your husband over the years has fallen for your extraordinary beauty and become infatuated with you.
Elijah decided to try again and use this to your advantage, much to Klaus' displeasure and fury. This time, Elijah put his other younger brother on guard. Honestly, it was fun to watch Kol occasionally hold Klaus by his henley to keep him from running towards you.
But of the two evils, Kol preferred to fight Klaus' jealousy over yours. You have proven more than once that you are a more dangerous opponent than his already bloodthirsty brother.
"Are you alright, darling?" Lucien pulled you out of your thoughts as he looked at you with concern.
"Yeah, I'm just a little tired. Hope's been getting on my nerves lately. She's so little, and she already has her dad's temper."
"A beautiful and caring woman like you deserves one night off." he said, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear and placing a flower there in the process. You had to admit that it was a very sweet gesture. You blushed involuntarily, smiling shyly at the vampire. "Will you do me the honor?" he asked, extending his hand towards you. You really didn't want to flirt with him, but Elijah didn't give you much of a way out. You hoped Klaus knew that. But from the burning look you could feel in the back of your head as Lucien led you to the dance floor, you knew you were bound to have a fit of jealousy at home.
You just hoped no one would die until you were alone in the same room with your husband to ease his jealousy.
You glanced out of the corner of your eye at Kol and Klaus' hideout. You almost burst out laughing as you saw the two brothers jostling with each other as Kol was trying hard to hold Klaus by his henley.
"Bloody hell, calm down before I put a dog muzzle around your neck!" Kol hissed at him, deftly dodging Klaus' fangs as he tried to inject him with his werewolf venom.
Fortunately, Freya came and took control of them, thanks to which the rest of the night went without incident (except that Klaus barged in at the end of the party and, together with Kol, pretending to be drunk, laughed at their ball. The divas, as always, had to show up.)
You thought everything would be fine, but on the way back, Nik didn't say a word to you, only holding your hand in an iron grip as he put up with Kol's story about what a "jealous and rabid dog" he had been throughout the whole ball.
The son of a bitch only made him angrier and escaping to Davina at the first possible opportunity after you were parked under abattoir.
The rest of the siblings got out of the car quickly, leaving you and Klaus alone. You had to defuse the ticking time bomb that was your husband before it was too late, and also on your own.
"Nik..." you began in a sweet tone, but the man didn't even look up from your joined hands as he played with your wedding ring on your finger. "Nik, listen…"
"Do you regret your decision?"he blurted out, not letting you finish your sentence.
"What?" you asked, shocked about his unexpected, serious question.
You turned to him so you could get a better look at him. He was staring at your hands nervously. You could feel his grip tightening with every second of the tense silence between you two.
"Do you regret marrying me?" he asked in a trembling, rueful voice.
"Oh, Niklaus... my best friend, my king, my soulmate. How could I ever regret marrying my first, true, epic love?" you took his cheeks in your hands, making him look you in the eyes. "I love you. All of you. In your good and bad days, and nothing can change that. None knows me as well as you do. Nobody is even close to making me feel the way you have been making me feel for these last thousand years. You are my peace, my home, my security, my heart, and my everything. There could be a billion people asking for my hand, and I'll choose you again, and again, and again. You, our sweet Hope, and your siblings are the only ones I care about in this bloody world. I'm yours, Niklaus, and I'm not going anywhere in the following eternity."
"Good." he murmured, barely holding back tears, and pulled you into a needy kiss.
You grabbed his shoulders and straddled him, knowing full well that, after moments of uncertainty like this, he needed your tender, firm touch.
And with the uncles and aunts watching over your daughter, you were more than willing to take care of your insecure husband.
The next day you woke up alone in your bed, but in a room filled with various beautiful flowers… none of them were like the one Lucien had given you and Klaus had burned.
Na na na na na na na, na na na na na na na Oh yeah Na na na na na na na, na na na na na na na Alright Na na na na na na na, na na na na na na na
You lay in bed together, sleeping off the long weeks of fighting the de Martels and Lucien. You finally killed them, returning to that blissful, peaceful state. AND! Hope has gained a new Uncle Finn and Grandpa Ansel. And it looked like Aunt Davina would join your happy, crazy, Mikaelosn's bunch, thanks to Kol. Klaus allowed them to look after the baby under the watchful eye of Rebekah and Freya.
It'll probably be years before he trusts them enough to leave them alone with Hope, but that's just how your husband was.
Always a protector, a warrior, repelling any evil that could reach his loved ones.
"Stop thinking. Go back to sleep." he murmured, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you closer.
Lately, he has had a strange urge to stay very close to you. Maybe it's because spring is coming? You didn't want to ask him about his wolf side yet. He was fairly new to it and... shy. You were glad that now Ansel would be able to help him understand his other half.
"I thought we established a long time ago that I disobey your orders." you started to comb his hair, smiling as you heard him purr softly. He deserved to rest after bravely defending your family. You didn't know how much time you had left until another bomb exploded in your face.
"You could at least pretend to be a little obedient to your husband." he huffed, his eyes still closed.
"Me? Obedient? I thought you knew what you were taking, Mikaelson. Now, it's too late for any returns." you snorted, amused. Klaus graciously opened one eye, staring at you adoringly.
"I did. You're mine forever." he replied seriously, making your cheeks flush furiously and your heart speed up.
"Good." you whispered, placing a tender, short kiss on his lips.
"Good." he replied, cupping your cheeks and kissing you "properly" stealing your breath away. You enjoyed a moment to yourselves, touching each other tenderly, grounding in the familiar feeling of another's lips.
You two needed it after weeks of jealousy and uncertainty on both sides. Reminders that nothing and no one can take each other away. You belonged to him as much as he belonged to you. Soul and body.
You still were kissing as Klaus slid his hand down your neck, breasts, and belly and started to lift your shirt, making you shiver every time your bare skin made brief contact with his fingertips.
Suddenly, Hope's cry came from downstairs, effectively breaking the moment between the two of you. Klaus groaned, resting his forehead against yours.
"Your daughter is calling us."
"And since when is she just my daughter?"
"Since she's been demanding our attention purely because of her current mood. You spoiled her, Nik, and she's not even 4."
"I know another woman I've spoiled, and she's not complaining about it at all. Maybe that's not a bad thing."
"Just bring her here. I need her too." you backed out, knowing full well you couldn't win this fight. Thousands of dresses, jewelry, and your portraits painted by Klaus spoke clearly against you. Hope may have been spoiled by her dad, but over the past thousand years (and probably many more to come), your husband has made sure you get everything you want. Even a fucking star in the sky.
"As you wish, love." he murmured, kissing your forehead before going to fetch your daughter.
She knows, she knows that I never let her down before She know, she knows that I'm never gonna let take another take her love from me
Klaus couldn't let his guard down. You just had to attract everyone with your beauty. Even the Salvatore brothers. He wasn't worried about Damon. He was too smitten with Elena to even think about making a move to get your affection. But Stefan… the golden, Salvatore hero—who had some dark points in common with him but was definitely a better choice than him. Bloody hell, he would want him too, if he had to choose between himself and him. So he has to work really hard to prove to you that he may be better than Stefan.
It didn't help that the younger vampire was stealing you in front of him and dancing with you most of the time at his mother's ball.
Not also the fact that you were willing to let him lead you after Klaus argued with you about Esther's intentions. You sensed something wrong with her aura, but Klaus believed (or wanted to believe) that his mother meant well. That, like him, she wanted to reunite the family.
You guys argued pretty hard about it. And now you were dancing in the arms of his enemy, honoring him with your beauty, smile and attention.
The worst part of it all was that you didn't send him a single malicious smirk. You didn't tease him like you usually did after your fights. You didn't even notice him as he watched you doggedly, tipping another glass of champagne. His name probably never crossed your mind this evening.
He played with the wedding ring on his finger, watching carefully as Salavtore flirted with you in front of him. He promised himself that this time he wouldn't give in to his jealousy. He won't play by the rules of your game, and he won't play the jealous husband. You will come to him yourself and apologize to him.
At least that was the plan until he saw you take your wedding ring off.
This was too fucking much for him.
He set his glass down on the table and with a quick, slightly unsteady step, walked over to the two of you and twisted Stefan's arm, the exact one he had dared to touch your bare shoulder.
Salvatore groaned, drawing the attention of those around you. But you stood firm as you watched your husband break at least two of his bones. He released Stefan in disgust and grabbed your hand, dragging you through the crowd of onlookers to his studio - the only place where no one would dare disturb you.
"What the hell was that?!" he shouted, slamming the door behind the two of you in anger.
"I have no idea what you are talking about, sweetheart."
"For your own good, don't make me more mad than I already am, love."
"And you, for your own good, remember that I AM NOT the meek wife you can order around! I'm the hybrid, like you, an original. You have no power over me, wolfie, no one has."
"Are you sure, love?" he growled throatily, taking a big step towards her. You backed up until you hit the wall behind you. Klaus walked over to you, your chests rubbing against each other with every breath you took.
He suddenly kissed you aggressively, taking out all his anger and insecurity on you as he bit into your enticing mouth and began sucking the slowly oozing blood. He groaned at the sweet, addictive taste on his tongue.
With one hand, he untangles your complicated hairstyle and wraps your hair around his hand, tilting your head back. While he was busy fucking your neck with kisses, you took advantage of his distraction, digging your nails into his arms, taking revenge for biting your lip. He hissed, annoyed at your bratty attitude, and pressed his lips to yours again. Once he had distracted you, he gave away two of your dresses and slapped you hard on the ass. You moaned into the kiss, rubbing against him, making him even crazier with desire. He had to control himself before you went too far for him to carry out his plan.
"Such a willing… so needy whore for me." you moaned as he brushed against your core, still teasing you, his fangs on your neck as he bit your skin gently. "What a pity I only fuck with my wife." he growled, pushing away from you and heading towards the exit.
"Niklaus!" you gasped in anger as his body heat left you.
"Put your wedding ring back on, and maybe I will help you with your... little problem." he threw over his shoulder, ignoring your shouts of protest and threats.
He didn't even get his hand on the doorknob when you pinned him to the door, kissing him passionately. He grinned, throwing you onto the piano in the corner as he caught a glimpse of the familiar black gold on your finger out of the corner of his eye. Where the fuck should always be. He leaned over you, grabbing your chin hard to make you look into his eyes. Need and lust shone in your irises, making him harder than ever.
"You're mine. I am the only bloody man who'll ever hear your sweet moaning in pleasure like a whore. Nobody can take you away from me. Don't ever dare to think you can have any lover but me."
"Then stop talking and prove it."
"With a fucking pleasure, love." he growled, kissing you hungrily as he tore your dress in half.

Hayley and Jackson's son stayed over at Hope's, and Klaus was more terrified than when he had fought his father. His little girl was playing with some kid. What if he started flirting with her? He had read somewhere that kids that age often find "boyfriends and girlfriends" and call every other person they are friends with that. He wasn't ready to hear from his little daughter that she had a boyfriend.
So ever since Hayley brought him in, he'd been giving the boy a stern look, much to his wife's annoyance. Klaus' reluctance gradually began to turn into indifference when, after hours of time Hope spent with her friend, he did not notice anything suspicious. They'd lasted all day, and there was no indication that the kid would have to be wiped off the face of the earth (or at least taken back to his parents immediately).
But then came breakfast. And Klaus noticed that this kid was staring at you in adoration. And he didn't like it at all.
He was not at all prepared for the insult, the insult directed at him, which the child said after you helped him cut his food.
"You are beautiful and kind as an angel. When I grow up, I will be your husband." Klaus spat out his cup of tea, choking as you tried not to burst out laughing at the 6-year-old's comment and Nik' reaction.
"Honey... but I already have a husband. He'll be very sad if I find another." Hayley called her son, who said goodbye to you and ran to hug Hope before mom took him away. You looked at your stunned husband with amusement. "Well… at least you don't have to worry about him flirting with Hope."
"This kid won't be stepping over the threshold of this house again." he growled, leaving the room to make sure the little one was out for good.
"Niklaus! It is just a child!" you shouted after him, laughing at his jealousy as you ran to make sure he didn't intimidate the poor boy.

It's been quite a few years since Klaus' last fit of jealousy. After the (victory) fight against Inadu, you were finally able to enjoy a moment of normality.
You had lunch at some diner in Mystic Falls; you visited Hope at her school, and somehow it happened that a group of her colleagues accosted her. She introduced you, you chatted with them for a while, and everything was supposed to be a normal dinner with your daughter and her friends, until one of them... crossed the line.
"Now we know from whom Hope inherited such loveliness. You are very beautiful, Mrs. Mikaelson."
You quickly grabbed Klaus' hand across the table, politely thanking the boy. Hope, seeing what was going on, escorted her friends away and left you alone for a moment.
"Niklaus, he's just a teenager."
"Uhm." he muttered absently, staring with daggers at the departing boy.
"He could be our son, for God's sake!"
"Most people on this planet could be our children, but that doesn't stop them from flirting with my wife." you rolled your eyes, smiling with amusement as he growled at the boy staring at you when Hope was explaining something to him. The poor guy looked away in panic and ran away as fast as he could.
You were going to scold your husband for scaring your daughter's friends, but you decided to leave it to Hope. The smart girl knew how to talk to her father better than you. Maybe she'd finally knock those stupid fits of jealousy out of his head, with which you've been struggling for 1,000 years.
"Your pregnant wife, I would like to point out. And we're not going anywhere. Certainly not with a teenager." you said, grabbing his chin and pulling him to you so you could kiss him. Klaus grunted, pleased with the feeling of your lips on his, and automatically placed his hand on your yet-unseen belly, smirking as he felt the pulse of the youngest member of the Mikaelson family growing inside you.
"I'm back!" Hope screamed, stepping behind you with a nervous smile. You raised an eyebrow, while looking at your daughter. Oh, no. You knew that look in her eyes. Klaus had the same gaze as he was about to do... something in Mikaelson's style. "Taking the opportunity... I mean, now that you're reassuring dad. Mom, Dad, I have a boyfriend. His name is Landon, and he's coming to the family dinner on Friday for all of you to meet him. So, bye! I'm going back to school. I love you both!" she said, kissing you both on the cheeks and leaving you both stunned. You burst out laughing at Klaus' shocked, defeated expression.
"Nik? Are you okay?" you asked, still laughing. Your husband's patience really was tested today.
"I told you we should stay in bed today. I knew something bad was about to happen." he growled, giving you a menacing look as you still couldn't stop laughing. You kissed the corner of his lips, a huge smirk still on your face. Klaus rolled his eyes but couldn't hold back his smirk any longer while he was looking at you. The power you hold over him... one your smile was easily changing his mood. Even in situations like this.
"Don't be such dramatic. It's probably better that Hope is dating teens than me, right?"
"Stop it, love." he growled, putting the money on the table. He grabbed your hand and led you out of the bar.
"Stop what?" you asked, pretending to be innocent as you strolled towards your car.
"Teasing me."
"But it's my favorite part of the day… and we all know you enjoy every ounce of my undivided attention." you replied, stopping both of you in front of the car and putting your hands on his shoulders. You stared at him with a mischievous smirk, playing with his hair. He wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you closer as he leaned against your car.
"You know you're ruining my carefully crafted reputation as the greatest evil in the world?"
"I'm not too concerned about this… how about you?"
His only response was a light chuckle before he kissed you with all his love for you. You smiled, cupping his cheeks and pulling him as close to you as possible. You both loved those moments of peace between the two of you. No witches, vampires, or werewolves wanting your death. Just the two of you in each other's arms, too busy with each other to care about anything else.
"Let's go home, love. Before that bunch of Salvatores come down here with white oak stakes." he hummed tenderly, stroking your cheek with his thumb.
He could stare at your beautiful face for hours. Even if it meant dealing with the people who wanted to steal his goddess first. It was worth every effort to hold you in his arms again.
"I don't think we're on the top criminals list anymore. Stefan was recently joking that you had retired. And before you get a seizure in the middle of town, let me say that I didn't talk to him. Hope is friends with Delena's daughter. She might have overheard something."
"The gods must have punished me in some way for my many antics, so they sent me a wife to teach my daughter how to get on my nerves without even trying."
"Oh sweetheart. I love you too." you laughed as you both got into the car to go home.
Na na na na na na na, na na na na na na na Oh yeah Na na na na na na na, na na na na na na na Alright Na na na na na na na, na na na na na na na She belongs to me
You were sitting in a rocking chair, holding your newborn son in your arms. The baby finally fell asleep peacefully, and you were afraid to make any move after hours of putting him to sleep. It looks like you'll have to sleep in this chair tonight.
"Rescue you, love?" Klaus' soft whisper tore your gaze from Henric Nikolas Mikaelson.
"I'd love to, but I'm afraid he'll wake up the moment he leaves my arms." Klaus slowly walked over to you, kneeling in front of you and gazing tenderly at the baby you held. "I guess you're going to have to come to terms with the fact that you're going to have to share me with someone else." the man rolled his eyes at the comment about his jealousy. He shifted his gaze to you and gently grabbed your hand, being careful not to let any sudden movement wake his son.
"I'll live with it as long as our kids are the only ones taking you from me."
"You are a very gracious, all-powerful hybrid." he chuckled, making a tired but genuine smile appear on your face. "Save yourself while you still can. I don't think I'm going back to bed tonight." you murmured, looking at the little usurper in your arms.
"Nonsense, you are going with me.." he lifted you from your chair with your soft, startled squeal and held you in his arms, careful not to wake your son. He carried you to the bed, making sure you were comfortable. He lay on his side, propping his head up with his hand, and stared at the two of you, spellbound. "You can sleep. I'll keep an eye on you two."
"Remember that your siblings and dad are coming tomorrow. Kol and Davina pick up Hope. And please, for God's sake, don't argue with Kol again about him being Henric's godfather, because we both know you don't want anyone else to take his place."
"Well, we always have Marcel and, God forbid, Finn. Besides, what kind of big brother would I be if I didn't torment him every chance I got?" you rolled your eyes, pressing your son to your chest, and used your free hand to grab your husband's hand.
"I just hope you didn't teach our daughter that."
"I'd be surprised if she didn't pick up on our habits herself." he murmured, kissing your hand and watching you fall into a peaceful sleep while holding your son and his hand. Your rings shone in the moonlight on your joined hands.
Yes... you were definitely belongs only to him.

Stefan Salvatore x Reader

Masterlist - Join My Taglist!
Fandom: The Vampire Diaries
Summary: Stefan is dead set against dressing up for Halloween, but his girlfriend might just have found a way to outplay him.
Word Count: 1,262
Category: Fluff
Requested by @cncownerxstefansalvatorefanxstay for a fluffy Halloween with Stefan! This prompt kinda possessed me for a minute until it was done being written, so I figured what better day to double up on fic posting than Friday the 13th? Hope you like it!
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
"Okay! What do you think? Nadja and Laszlo or Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf? One is more fitting but the other is funnier."
I held up the costumes in question so Stefan, my boyfriend, could get a good look. He glanced up from his reading with a bewildered expression, his eyes scanning each of the costumes before landing on me with a frown.
"What is this for?" he asked. My mouth dropped open.
"For Halloween! Obviously! Come on, Stefan, we have to dress up."
"No. No, we don't," he said, a laughing smile tugging at the corner of his mouth as his eyes dropped back to his reading. I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Are you seriously telling me you're not going to dress up with me for Halloween?"
"I... think I am telling you that, yeah."
"But what about the trick-or-treaters who come to the door! We want to be the cool people with awesome costumes, don't we?"
"Mmm.... no."
I sighed dramatically, letting both costumes drop to my sides. I narrowed my eyes at my boyfriend, but he didn't flinch, not looking up from his reading.
"I'll support you if you decide to dress up," he finally said. "But I'm not putting on a costume."
"Fine. I guess I can't force you," I said, flopping my arms dramatically as I turned away from Stefan, a smirk on my face. This was not over by a longshot.
A few hours later, as the sun started to set and it was time to get ready for trick-or-treaters, Stefan wandered out of the bathroom with his shirt off. We were hosting a big Halloween party later, so we needed to be dressed and ready for both.
"You decided not to dress up?" asked Stefan, running a suspicious eye over my outfit. I just shrugged.
"It's not as much fun if you don't do it with me."
Stefan smirked a little as he moved back towards he bed. "The guilt trip's not gonna work on me."
"Not even if I ramp it up to an eleven?"
He snorted, not bothering to respond as he surveyed the outfit I'd laid out for him on the bed. Once he was apparently satisfied the shirt wouldn't secretly turn into a ruffled monstrosity befitting Laszlo Cravensworth, he pulled it on and buttoned it up, then slipped on the gray pea coat I'd left with it.
With my heavy, light brown jacket and headband, my plan was officially complete. I smiled and stepped closer to Stefan, fixing his collar before running my hands through his hair a few times, spiking it up even more. When I'd finished, I stepped back and gave him a beaming smile.
"You look great," I said. He smiled, then leaned in to kiss me. We lingered for a minute before he pulled back.
"You look great too."
We shared a smile, then I held out a hand, which Stefan took.
"Come on, we have trick-or-treaters to greet."
I pulled him after me as we headed downstairs. Damon, Elena, Caroline, and Bonnie were setting up for the party, but I'd volunteered Stefan and I to answer the door for anyone who came by.
We didn't have to wait long before the doorbell rang. I smiled and grabbed the bowl of candy, Stefan right behind me as we opened the door. A group of kids with their high school-aged chaperon stood at the door beaming, candy baskets in-hand.
"Trick or treat!" they chorused. I smiled.
"You guys have some great costumes! What do we have, a vampire, a Jedi, Spock..."
"What are you dressed as?" asked a little girl towards the front. I beamed, mentally thanking her for the opening I'd been waiting for.
Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Stefan, ready to tell her we hadn't dressed up. I spoke up before he got the chance.
"We're Bella and Edward from Twilight!"
I felt Stefan tense next to me as realization washed over him, which only made me smile wider as the kids beamed.
"That's a good costume!" said the girl in the front.
"You look just like him," the boy next to her agreed, nodding at Stefan.
"Thanks! Let's get you guys your candy, your outfits deserve some extra treats."
We smiled and waved as we gave the kids their candy, and I noticed Stefan slipped the vampire an extra bar or two. We waved as they headed off, and as soon as I shut the door, Stefan turned to me, hands on his hips and a stern look on his face.
"Bella and Edward? Seriously?"
"Yeah!" I replied, not even a little bit phased. "It's a low key costume, enough that you didn't even realize you were wearing it, but I still get to do a couples costume with my boyfriend. It's the best of both worlds."
Stefan sighed a deep, heavy, long-suffering sigh.
"I'm changing before the party."
"No!" I cried, reaching out to grab his arm. He hadn't made to move away yet, but I wanted to be ready if he did. "Please wear it for the party too. Please? For me?"
I batted my eyelashes and gave Stefan my best adorable guilt-trip look. He stared back, his expression not budging an inch, until finally he sighed again, throwing his head back and staring at the ceiling.
"Fine."
"Yes! Thank you." I pulled him to me, and grudgingly, he wrapped his arms around my waist as a small smile tugged its way onto his face. "You're the best boyfriend ever, Stef."
"I know."
He smiled again, then leaned down to kiss me. I leaned into him, and I think we would've stayed that way a lot longer if we hadn't been interrupted by another ring of the doorbell.
Reluctantly, Stefan and I pulled apart, sharing a smile.
"We should probably get that," I said. He hummed, not quite letting me go yet.
"I don't know if I can. You're like my own personal brand of heroin."
I laughed, which got a beaming smile out of Stefan even as I finally slipped out of his grasp.
"I can't believe you paid enough attention when we watched the movies to remember that but not enough to realize I was putting you in the same costume Edward wore!"
Stefan shrugged. "Maybe I just wanted to let you have this one."
I paused, narrowing my eyes at Stefan to try to decide if he really had put up with the costume for me, knowing the whole time what I'd been doing, or if he was just messing with me. Before I could decide, he reached past me to swing the door open and another group of kids greeted us with smiles on their faces.
"Trick or treat!"
"Wow, another vampire costume. There seem to be a lot of those this year," he said, smiling at the kid in question. "I think yours is the best I've seen, though."
The kid absolutely beamed at the compliment, and I moved up next to Stefan as we chatted with the trick-or-treaters and handed out the candy. One of the kids actually guessed our costume this time, and Stefan was the one to tell them they were right, we were Bella and Edward. With his arm around me as we talked with each and every kid who came to the door, I could tell Stefan was warming up to the couple's costume idea, whether or not he'd been aware of what he was getting into in the first place.
I just hoped that warm feeling would be enough to carry him through whatever inevitable bad jokes Damon made at his expense all night once the kids were gone and the party began.

Sleepy Girl
masterlist
pairing: elijah mikaelson x female reader
warnings: just fluff
summary: elijah reads to you in the evening and you accidentally fall asleep on his shoulder
a/n: short but i hope you enjoy !
song: the french library - franz gordon
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There was a thunderstorm outside, usually you would be doing something out of the house, but this weather prevented you from doing so.
It's spring and the flowers are almost fully grown, but currently you couldn’t see much of natures beauty.
It was dark and the rain was falling down heavy.
You and Elijah were sat on your bed, he was your best friend. Although his siblings seem to think you both have feelings for each other. They have not given up on that idea even if you both deny it every day.
His hand was resting on your waist, and he was reading one of your favorite books, Pride and Prejudice. The only source of light was the small lamp on the nightstand.
Him reading to you was your favorite thing. His voice was so soothing and his accent was incredibly delightful to hear.
His hand lifts from your waist and went to stroke your hair. He adored playing with your hair, he braided it a lot.
You felt your eyes getting heaving, the sound of the rain, his voice, and him playing with your hair caused you to start to drift asleep.
You leave your head against his shoulder and snuggled into his side. A smile pulled at his lips and he glances down at you. You look so peaceful, he thought to himself.
A short while later, you were listening to his reading until you fell into a calm slumber against him.
He hears your heart at a slow and steady pace and your light breathing. He looks at you and kisses your forehead.
He puts the book down and turns the lamp off. He closes his eyes, and finds himself falling asleep as well.
His siblings downstairs heard him stop reading and tiptoed upstairs to peak in the room.
Kol, Klaus, and Bekah’s heads were sideways as they took the in scene in front of them. Elijah was sound asleep with his head on yours, which was resting against him. One arm around the back of you and on resting on top of your stomach.
They quickly head back down stairs and start giggling about how cute you both are together.

Happy Birthday Klaus Mikaelson x Pinkie Pie! Reader
Type: Challenge One shot
Challenge Masterlist -> Here
Summary: You celebrate Klaus’ birthday, much to his displeasure.
Warnings: Nothing really , mentions of violence
Tumblr media
If you could do anything for anyone it would be making them feel special. In a world practically bursting with people, it’s easy for some to fall through the cracks. Into the lonely abyss of forgotten. While you enjoy time to yourself, sometimes it’s too much.
The feeling of not being connected to anyone had deeply upset you since you were young. Maybe it was friends never trying with your relationship, or busy parents or teachers never bothering to learn your name because of your quiet nature. All of it combined really brought you down.
Until it didn’t and it instead pissed you off. You channeled how you felt to become more sociable in high school, using it as your chance to start again. You spoke with everyone no matter the clique or social status. Determined that no one in your reach would feel like you.
Naturally this filtered into celebrating birthdays. Whether it was bringing in presents or cards to any and everyone you’d spoken to. People in your class, in your after school groups, on your street. By sophomore year you’d cemented your position as the peppy party planner who was always the life of the party.
You’d kept that up all the way till senior year. Happy to make others happy. You kept a list of everyone birthday. Always staying on top of them. So why did everyone expect you to exclude Klaus Mikaelson from your list?
“I just don’t get it, how do you even know his birthday?” Caroline asked, before stabbing a piece of cake on her paper plate.
You smile as you pack away some blue solo cups, “I know everyone’s birthday.”
The blonde gives you a questioning look.
You laugh, “Maybe I’ve got some Bennet blood in my veins and I’m psychic.” You muse.
Caroline rolls her eyes, “When you can light candles with your mind let me know.”
“If I could, I still wouldn’t be able to put enough candles on Klaus’ cake.” The party had been for one of the girls in your art class. She’d asked if you’d help make it a memorable birthday and you could do nothing but deliver.
“I just don’t know if it’s a good idea. There’s all that stuff that happened with him and what if he like, I dunno, kills you?”
Now it’s your turn to roll your eyes at your friend. “That was ages ago. Now him and Elena are practically on speaking terms. Rebekah had no problem when I brought her a cake.”
Caroline chokes on the freshly frosted piece of blue birthday cake. One you’d made especially for Emily. From the rest of the decorations and the dress code, anyone could tell that was her favourite colour.
“Rebekah Mikaelson? She’s crazy. The amount of times she’s tried to kill me, to kill Elena.” She starts to rant.
It was true the Mikaelsons had brought trouble into town with them. Klaus was desperate for Elena’s blood, ready to kill anyone who stopped him. He and his family often clashed with Caroline and her friends. Occasionally you too, yet you tried to stay out of it.
After all parties had gotten what they wanted, with much mediation on Elijah’s part and changing of the a spell on Bonnie’s, they managed to reach an agreement.
“It was all smoother over, what it not?” You ask her, still busy packing away decorations. “Aren’t you meeting Elena today?”
Caroline raises her eyebrows in shock and practically throws her cake down. She takes a napkin to wipe her face, then starts to collect her stuff.
“You are totally right. Elena wants me to help Jenna pick out an outfit for her and Ricks anniversary.” She tells you.
“Thank you so much for this. Just be safe with Klaus okay. Don’t do anything reckless.” You wave her off, finally being able to stack boxes of party supplies together.
You say your goodbyes and watch the blonde hurry off. It doesn’t take long to pack all the items away. You see Emily before you leave. She’s clearly having a good time, with more than juice in her solo cup. She slurs her goodbye and thanks you extensively, at one point wrapping her arms around you in a jumble of a hug.
For Klaus’ cake you decided to go simple. Well simple ish. It was a plain enough cake that said happy birthday in white buttercream. It was covered in a blue fondant. When you finish you realise how boring it looks. While you don’t want to push your limits with this cake, you also want to go above and beyond for Klaus.
You’d heard of his tales, of what he’d done in the past. You’d also seen him around town. Always alone. It seemed he didn’t have all that many friends, outside of his siblings. Even they didn’t act like friends.
It reminded you of how you felt all those years ago. Alone and sad. Lonely in a town so small you’d bump into teachers all the time. Sometimes in the most inconvenient locations.
So you added extra details. You fashioned a brush and paint pallet out of fondant. Arranging it carefully on top of the cake. When you were satisfied with your work you put the cake in the box and in the fridge.
You wrote out a card and packed his present in a small bag. The present in question was a pack of small canvases and brushes. You knew he liked to paint. Once you’d seen his work on the wall of the Mikaelsons house. It was a large piece, portraying a field of flowers and a serene sky filled with the colours of a sunset. It was truly marvellous.
Yet it got you thinking, what about little canvases? Little piece of work that wouldn’t be as large a project, but could require just as much detail and precision for the small space.
Eyes wide and lips pulled up to smile brightly, you walked through the door of the bar. It was a little difficult with the large cake in your hands and present and card bag dangling from your arm, but your managed. You searched for Klaus, finding the man in a booth in a the corner of the bar. He sat alone of course, nursing a glass of scotch.
He didn’t look up when you walked towards his table. The bar was fairly empty and he was clearly in his own world.
You place the cake down on the table, then pulled the bag of your arm, placing it down next to it. Then you sit opposite him in the booth, moving the items on the table aside slightly so you can see Klaus.
Klaus’ eyebrows knit together in confusion. He knew you of course. Noticed you at his family’s ball and around town. He’d heard Rebekah gushing about you to Elijah. Talking about how happy she’d been when you brought her a cake and made her feel special.
“What all this Love?” He asks. You try not to let the pet name mean anything. While Klaus is an extremely attractive person you’re here for a purpose.
“Happy birthday!” You smile wildly then pull out a party blower from your pocket, giving it a blow. Much to the other patrons (not that there are many) displeasure.
He lets a small smile grow on his face, “Sorry love, but I think birthdays stop counting after you move into a four digits age.”
You shake your head, “No way. If you’re immortal then so is your birthday buddy.”
“Buddy?” He asks incredulous.
You push the bag towards him. To which he cautiously peels back the the tissue paper and pulls out the contents.
“They’re mini canvases.” You tell him. Then explain how you’ve see his work - which you think was really beautiful - and how you though painting a smaller canvas would be a different challenge and a change for him. He nods along. Almost entranced by what you’re saying.
“That’s really thoughtful, love. Thank you. I can’t remember the last time anyone celebrated my birthday.” He told you earnestly. Genuinely so appreciative of your kind gesture.
“Well that’s a real shame Klaus.” For a moment your eyes connect and you feel rooted in place. You try not to blush so instead move on to remove the cover of his cake.
“Now don’t get too upset, but there aren’t any candles on your cake. I think it would be a little difficult to fit over 1000 candles on there.” He laughs. Eyes move to appraise the cake. They widen in surprise at the detail on the cake and the paint pallet and paintbrush you’ve created.
“This looks amazing love. Thank you.” It’s the first time you’ve seen Klaus Mikaelson smile. It’s genuine and lights his face. For a moment he doesn’t look like some scary vampire. He looks like a man enjoying his birthday.
“Happy Birthday Klaus Mikaelson. Have a great day.” You say, reaching a hand out to his own.
Time seems to slow as you stare into his eyes. Your hands entwine and your heart skips a beat. You notice how there’s some green in his dark blue eyes. For a moment they shine gold.
It’s enough to bring you out of your daze. You move to stand only for Klaus to stop you.
“Aren’t you staying for a piece?”

Hello! If you don’t mind, I would like to request a Rebekah Mikaelson x reader?
Something like, reader is human but is the key to one of Klaus’s plans, so he takes her to the Mikaelson mansion and keeps her there. She’s kind of a prisoner, but Rebekah has seen this film before, so she’s just expecting one of her brothers - or both of her brothers - to fall in love with yet another stupid human and make everything complicated again
However, reader starts to get affectionate with her. She starts looking for her when she needs something, when she has to make a decision, she looks at her for reassurance, she goes to Bekah’s room late at night to talk and very often just falls asleep there, it’s a whole thing, but Rebekah is always expecting the moment she’ll leave her for her brothers, not really opening her heart, she’s scared because she has been fooled so many times
So, one day she sees reader talking with Elijah and she’s even giving him those pleading eyes she usually reserves for her and they both shut up immediately when she gets close, and she knows the moment came, Y/N will be Elijah’s, Klaus will freak out and hell will break loose. She’s hurt but pretends no to be and just starts keeping reader away
But reader was only talking to Elijah because in one of these late night talks, Rebekah told her that no one has ever baked for her even though she has been doing it forever, so she was just trying to convince him to get everything she needed to bake for her, she’s completely in love with Rebekah
So, that’s it! I hope you like the request, thanks anyway!
'didn't like the ending' - rebekah mikaelson
masterlist
Tumblr media
God, Rebekah Mikaelson has seen the same scene play out so many times, she’s starting to feel like she’s spent half her immortal life in deja vu. For a family of Original vampires that prides itself on being leagues beyond the rest of their bloodsucking proteges, the Mikaelson brothers can be a little, well, predictable. Especially at times like this.
If there’s one perfect example of the Mikaelson men repeating themselves, it would have to be the hostage problem. Rebekah can’t even begin to count the amount of times she’s witnessed the same damn thing over the centuries. At this point, it’s starting to border on ridiculous, yet the only one who seems attuned to this problem is Rebekah. And it’s not as if her brothers are really that keen to listen to her, anyway. Certainly not about something like this.
Every time, it starts and ends the same:  one of her brothers, maybe even Rebekah herself, will drag in some human or vampire or witch to serve as a hostage during one of their many disputes with the neighbouring supernatural beings. They’ll chain up this poor sap in a cell, or lock them in one of the many rooms of the Mikaelson mansion. At first, all will be perfectly ordinary. The hostage will beg and plead to be rescued, Rebekah’s family will laugh scornfully from atop their ivory towers, and everything will go as planned.
But then the negotiations don’t happen as quickly as they would like, and the Mikaelsons end up spending a lot more time with their hostage than initially envisioned. They have to tolerate the company of this foreign presence more and more, especially since the hostage often ends up being a key part in someone’s plans, and information is required from them. Then, Elijah or Klaus, or heavens, even Kol sometimes, will end up spending far more time with this hostage than ever before, and they’ll do the unthinkable and fall in love.
Rebekah is no stranger to the plight of the lovestruck Mikaelson. Although it seems impossible, one of her brothers will fall in love, and then face the unsightly issue of having to wrestle with their guilt over letting the hostage go, or the more likely option, they’ll keep the hostage forever as a little trophy or token of their affections until they fall out of love again and the hostage is set free.
This has happened many times over the centuries. No matter how much her brothers love to talk about how they’re so above mortal things like feelings, Rebekah has watched them fall victim to their hearts until an affection becomes an affliction. Normally, she wouldn’t have a problem with any of this, it is rather amusing to watch her brothers fall over themselves in an attempt to woo a human of all things, but more often than not she ends up being the reluctant ear to their monologues, so the whole affair has grown rather wearisome over the years.
And so, when Klaus drags yet another human hostage into the Mikaelson mansion as a cog in one of his many elaborate plans, Rebekah just sighs and mentally starts planning when she’ll take an extended vacation out of New Orleans yet again so she won’t have to deal with all of this. It’s a shame, too. She was just starting to put herself back out there again, and now all of her hard work is for nothing.
Rebekah watches from the balcony as Klaus dramatically announces to the hostage that they’ll have nowhere to go unless they help him. This time, he’s allowing the hostage free reign of the place, since he’s had a witch charm the hostage into being unable to leave the mansion unless Klaus directly allows it. That way, he won’t have to deal with pesky things like vervain getting in the way of his commands.
Rebekah sighs, rolling her eyes at the scene. The hostage seems like a perfectly nice young woman, albeit one that has absolutely no idea what’s coming for her. Inwardly, she wonders if she should start issuing ominous warnings about staying away from the Mikaelson brothers, although if this hostage is in any way involved with the vampiric communities of New Orleans, she supposes they would already know more than enough about that.
A sudden whoosh of air by her side; Rebekah looks up to see Elijah suddenly emerging from the shadows of the hall to stand next to her. “Something seems to be troubling you,” he notes. “Should I be afraid to ask?”
Rebekah just groans. “Klaus has gone and conjured himself up yet another hostage. This is not going to end well.”
Elijah arches a brow. “You don’t mean to tell me you think Klaus will harm her already? He should hold off at least a week or two, he needs her alive.”
Rebekah shakes her head. “Worse. I think he’s going to grow to care for her. Either you or him.”
Elijah chuckles. “Well, I hardly think that being under the protection of a Mikaelson is cause for concern. If anything, it should extend her lifetime a few decades or so.”
Rebekah scoffs. “I couldn’t care less about how long she lives. I just don’t want you two to bother me when you fall in love again.”
Elijah gazes down at the hostage. “You don’t even know if she’s our type. We might not like her in the slightest. Rebekah, have you even bothered to learn the poor girl’s name? That’s meager hospitality on your part.”
Rebekah almost laughs. “Dearest brother, I do not give a damn who this girl is or what she’s done wrong to get herself on Klaus’ radar. The more she stays out of my way, the better.”
With that, she spins on her heel and heads back towards her quarters. This plan is one of Klaus’ mad schemes, not hers, so Rebekah is determined to avoid the whole matter as much as she can. Maybe then she could finally manage a moment or two of peace and quiet around here.
Peace and quiet, as it turns out, are not the sorts of things to hang around the Mikaelson estate, certainly not when Klaus has a few tricks up his sleeve. Try as she might to stay out of the way, Rebekah finds herself brought back into the mix not by Klaus, or even Elijah on one of his many attempts to bring the family together, but by the hostage herself:  Y/N L/N.
Rebekah had been honest with Elijah when she said she couldn’t care less about the hostage. Really, she couldn’t. For some reason, however, Y/N seems to have decided that Rebekah is her best bet when attempting to navigate the complex relationships of the Mikaelson extended sphere. She’s not wrong, really, Rebekah can be level-headed when she decides it’s interesting enough for her, but she can’t fathom why Y/N would seek her out intentionally.
Yet this is precisely what happens. Y/N takes it upon herself to introduce herself to Rebekah out of the blue one day, then keeps tracking Rebekah down to ask her questions or seek advice on how to deal with Klaus. Honestly, it’s ridiculous. Rebekah does not need new friends, nor would she try to find them in a human.
That being said, she doesn’t entirely mind Y/N, not really. As far as humans go, Rebekah would be kind enough to say that she’s one of the better ones. She doesn’t annoy Rebekah like some of the Mystic Falls crew did, and she listens intently whenever Rebekah speaks, as if she truly cared about what Rebekah had to say. After many lifetimes over her brothers overruling her every thought, Rebekah can’t deny that it’s nice to have her opinion valued every now and then.
Just as expected, Y/N’s tenure in the Mikaelson mansion drags on for longer than planned, and what was meant to be a stay of just a couple of weeks turns into one month, then two. Y/N remains, and she remains by Rebekah’s side. They actually exchange jokes, and secrets, and before Rebekah knows it, she actually looks forward to when she crosses paths with Y/N. They get along brilliantly, and when Y/N isn’t with Rebekah–
Well, when she’s not with Rebekah, she’s with Elijah. Practically glued to the hip. At first, Rebekah would jealously tell herself that Y/N would never get along with Elijah, but inside, she knows it isn’t true. If Y/N can win over Rebekah when Rebekah was firmly opposed to the whole idea, then good-tempered Elijah would be a walk in the park to Rebekah’s bloody battlefield.
It makes Rebekah sick. She knows how this play turns out, doesn’t she? Rebekah has attended many showings, and no matter the venue, no matter the star actress, it always turns out the same. The hostage falls for a Mikaelson brother, not sister. In the end, there is love to be shared, but not with Rebekah. Never with Rebekah.
She wants to tighten her hold, but afraid of pushing Y/N away for good, she pretends as if nothing is the matter. Y/N doesn’t seem to notice the war brewing between Rebekah’s ribs. She spends more and more time in Rebekah’s room, talking over some issue or other. Sometimes, when the nights get low and Y/N forgets to leave, she’ll even fall asleep on Rebekah’s bed, or when leaning against her shoulder. It feels personal. It feels like maybe, it might even be Rebekah’s turn to fall in love.
She knows better, though. Of course Rebekah knows better. Rebekah has been through enough lifetimes to know that hope is a very rocky fissure upon which to build one’s aspirations. Even if a lot of her life has been spent daggered in a box, she still knows enough to not be naive. This story isn’t going to go her way. It never does.
She’d like it to, though. She really would. Y/N gets along with the whole family, and Rebekah can’t stop herself from imagining how nice it would be to have a significant other that wasn’t in danger of getting murdered by Klaus or Elijah for once. Klaus, with admittedly great reluctance, has come to value Y/N’s input. And Elijah’s conversations with Y/N seem to increase in number, but mainly whenever Rebekah isn’t around.
That happens a lot, actually. They’ll be getting along, thick as thieves, and then the moment Rebekah turns the corner and comes into their direct line of sight, the two of them mysteriously clam up. Keeping secrets, it seems. From her. And Rebekah reckons she can guess the subject matter quite well.
That’s it, then. That’s the mystery sorted, the grand question of which Mikaelson their latest hostage would fall for. It’s not as if this hasn’t happened before, but Rebekah finds herself far more disappointed than she had for any of the others. Vampires are protective and jealous and selfish, and Rebekah is the worst of them, but still, she swears she had never wanted anything quite like this before. Now this thing, this love, this woman, is out of her reach, and Rebekah’s entire existence has suddenly turned tragic.
Although she should take the high road and pretend that nothing is the matter, Rebekah has never been good at brushing off trivialities. Once, when she was younger, Klaus had told her that she had a ‘gift for theatrics.’ At first, she’d been delighted, assuming her brother believed her to be a master actress, and then she’d realized that Klaus’ words, as they always seemed to be, were nothing but a barb meant to wound her. Then she’d stomped around as usual, doing nothing to raise her spirits and only proving him right.
Stomping around can be rather satisfying, though. When Rebekah runs into Y/N and Elijah deep in a heated conversation one day, she just can’t take it anymore. This time, instead of running away and pretending as if she hadn’t seen a thing, Rebekah purposely walks towards them. Just as before, Y/N’s eyes go wide, and she hurriedly shuts up.
Rebekah isn’t willing to let it slide, though. She stops in front of them and folds her arms across her chest. “What’s all this about? You look as if you’ve been caught red-handed. Which, I suppose, you have.”
Y/N grins weakly. “Nothing. We, uh, aren’t doing anything.”
Rebekah arches a brow. “That’s hardly believable, now, isn’t it? How about you try telling me the truth for once. I’d certainly like to hear it.”
Elijah claps his hands together. “Actually, I think this is a matter just for you and Y/N, my dear sister. I don’t believe this concerns me at all.”
Before either of them can stop him, Elijah disappears down the hall, gone in an instant. Y/N glares after him. “For an immortal vampire, he’s absolutely terrible when you want someone to stand by you.”
“That’s Elijah for you,” Rebekah murmurs. “He never likes it when we fight.”
“Yeah, well, I can hardly blame him,” Y/N muses. “Fighting with your family seems rather painful.”
“It is,” Rebekah instantly agrees, then remembers that she’s supposed to be upset. “Now, you can’t distract me anymore. Tell me what’s going on, I mean it. I know we’re friends, but you don’t have to hide things from me.”
Y/N’s eyes go wide. “You mean– you know? And you’re okay with it?”
Rebekah feels as if she’s been daggered. She almost wants to turn around and see if her murderous brother is standing behind her, ready to put her in a coffin again for another century or two. Y/N does like Elijah, then. How utterly heartbreaking. “Why wouldn’t I be okay with it?” She asks listlessly. “I know my brothers, and as far as Mikaelson men go, you chose the one who tends to be the most stable. Nothing wrong with that.”
Y/N’s brow furrows. “Wait, what are you talking about?”
Rebekah looks away. Thinking it is one thing, but admitting the painful truth aloud suddenly seems far worse. “You know. You’ve fallen in love with my brother.”
She isn’t sure how she expects Y/N to react. With relief, maybe, that she won’t have to hide anymore. What Rebekah certainly isn’t expecting is for Y/N to start laughing. “What? No, Rebekah, I’m not in love with Elijah. I’m in love with you.”
The floor seems to have fallen about beneath Rebekah’s feet. “With– with me?”
Y/N laughs again. It’s a lovely sound. “Yes, Bekah, I love you. It’s very easy to do, you know.”
Rebekah shakes her head, still not entirely sure that she isn’t dreaming or something. This certainly feels like a dream. “But– you’re always with Elijah– and you keep sharing secrets with him that you won’t tell me–”
Y/N grins. “That’s because I’m trying to make sure he won’t tell a soul. Elijah figured me out a few weeks ago. Mainly, though, I’ve been trying to persuade him to get me a few things. I want to bake something for you, and Klaus only ever keeps this house stocked with blood and alcohol. It’s sort of horrific, actually. You don’t even have baking soda.”
Rebekah’s brow furrows. “You wanted to bake me something? Why?”
Y/N’s smile turns quiet. “You mentioned it once. You were sad that no one had ever baked for you even though you were always making things for your brothers. I didn’t want you to feel that way anymore.”
“I can’t believe you remembered that,” Rebekah says softly. “I only mentioned it once.”
“I like listening to you, Rebekah.” Y/N tells her.
And at last, at long last, Rebekah knows why. She’s seen this play before. For once, she gets her happy ending.

✰  ✰  ✰
You’d known the Mikaelsons for a very long time. For almost your entire life you were one of them. Growing up with the Mikaelsons was something you look back on from time to time.
Being kids running through the trails, hiding out from the wolves in your village, and dueling with Niklaus and Elijah almost everyday just to put them in their place was your definition of a good life. Your family was nothing like the Mikaelson family. They were always so close knit, and they welcomed you with open arms.
You loved them dearly, but you loved one of them different from the rest.
Elijah Mikaelson was your love.
You had completely fallen for this Mikaelson brother, and you had fallen quite hard.
“(Y/N)!” Elijah called out, two swords in hand. You lightly smiled at him as he smirked and tossed you one of the blades.
“You challenge me to a duel?” You played. “You ought to be careful who you challenge around here Lijah,” you teased, “one day I won’t be so kind as to hold back.”
“Oh is that so?” He chuckled with an amused smile. He playfully wielded his sword and motioned you towards him. “Don’t hold back, m’lady.”
You giggled as you whipped the sword around, swinging it in circles as you’ve been practicing. Elijah watched with a proud smile on his face as you got into a fighting stance.
“You are not ready for what’s about to come Lijah,” you teased.
Before you could even begin a duel, Niklaus’ cry echoed through the village.
You and Elijah dropped your swords and ran out to where Niklaus was walking. The rest of the Mikaelson family came in tow from their shack.
You gasped as you took notice of what Niklaus carried in his hands. Their youngest brother Henrik dead in Niklaus’ arms.
Rebekah sobbed as she saw her smallest brother lifeless.
From that moment on, a lot had changed for the Mikaelson family.
After their mother Ester had turned them into vampires, she couldn’t bare the thought of losing you, the girl she called her other daughter.
After the Mikaelson family had all of their splits, and falling outs, and daggerings, you were still there, but you were there for one Mikaelson sibling more than the rest.
Elijah was absolutely, positively infatuated with you.
The more time you spent together, as time went on and the hours turned to days, the days to weeks, the weeks, to years, and the years to centuries with you, he couldn’t see you in any other light. You were the one for him.
It was late in the 1400s when Elijah finally expressed to you how he felt. You, him, and Niklaus were living together in Italy, and he had finally gotten the courage to explain just how much you meant to him.
A party was going around. Niklaus had thrown it in hopes of drawing out the doppelganger to break his timely curse.
As you danced with the strangers around you, Elijah watched from the wall.
“My, my, brother,” Niklaus tsked, “I’d thought that by now you’d have expressed your love for (Y/N).” He smirked as he watched his brother roll his eyes. “Or at least got the courage to pursue her.”
Elijah scoffed, “it is not as simple as you may think, brother. (Y/N) is the best kind of woman. She’s kind and delicate. Even after all we’ve been through, she manages to see the light in every situation.”
Elijah scanned his eyes over the room, a crowd of people surrounded you, all wanting to join in on the fun dance you are having. “She lights up every room, and people just want to be around her. She will meet a million people in this eternal lifetime, and I don’t want to get caught up with my feelings and end up losing her to one of them.”
“Oh, for fuck’s sake, Lijah, why do you always have to be so negative?” Klaus scoffed. “Get over there and ask her to dance. I know for certain she will be swooning over you so hard she’ll forget how to even move her feet.”
Elijah chuckled at this, and took a few more minutes to watch you dance, thinking long and hard if he really wanted to do this. He decided he didn’t want to sit around and wait for some other man to sweep you off his feet. He wanted to be the one to do so.
In a flash, Elijah was off the wall and in the middle of the dance floor, right where you resided.
When you saw him beside you, your eyes lit up and a smile graced your face.
“My, my,” you teased, “I’d never thought I’d see the day where the Elijah Mikaelson joined me on the dance floor.”
Elijah chuckled and lightly rubbed the back of his neck. “It would have happened eventually, darling. We’ve got an eternity of life to live together.”
His eyes slightly widened as he heard what he said. “Not that I mean our lives together together like romantically, more that we’re both immortal and we happen to spend all of our time together. Us and Niklaus of course, but mainly us.”
Elijah was a stammering mess at this point, but that only made your heart rate pick up. You thought it was adorable when he got nervous around you. You liked that you were the only thing in this world that made him nervous.
“I know what you’re saying Lijah.” You smiled as you placed a hand on his shoulder. “Although, would it really be such a terrible thing?”
Elijah cocked his head in confusion. “Would... you mean would being together romantically be a bad thing?”
You nodded your head as you shyly waited for his response. You didn’t want to wait any longer. It had been centuries since you first started loving Elijah, and you didn’t want to sit behind these bottled up feelings any longer.
Elijah’s heart was racing. He was trying to find the words to say how he felt without joyfully screaming in your face.
He couldn’t contain his emotions, and a grin broke out onto his face. “(Y/N), I fear if I back out now I’ll never have another opportunity to tell you this.”
You stared into his eyes, your heart racing, pulsing out of your chest as you hang on to every word he says.
Elijah opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. He blubbed like a fish before he shook his head and chuckled a little which made you giggle.
“I’m sorry, you just still make me nervous after all these years.” He confessed.
“I make you nervous?”
Elijah wet his lips as he stared down at yours. “Your beauty makes me nervous. Your confidence and your kindness pull me in. You intelligence and strength keeps me going. You are everything to me, (Y/N).”
Elijah never broke eye contact. As he poured his heart out to you, you could see in his eyes that he meant every last word of what he said.
“I love you, (Y/N).” He breathed out. “I’ve always loved you.”
That was just the beginning.
Since that day in the late 1400s, Elijah has always had you by his side.
Present day, almost a thousand years since you’ve first fallen for him, you still knew that he was the man you wanted to spend your eternity with. Elijah was just as loving and sweet as he was the day he confessed his love for you.
Once he had you, all he did was worship the ground you walked on. He wanted to be your best friend, your partner in crime, your lover, and your rock all in one.
And he was.
Elijah was everything you could have ever asked for, and you couldn’t wait to spend the rest of your eternity with the man your heart belonged to.

Hi there! Did I hear you say that requests are open for Kol Mikaelson? Yes? Excellent! (You have made a mistake in giving me this power.)
Okay, I've been thinking about this for a while, so would you be willing to do a Kol x ghost!reader fic? I was thinking it could take place after Kol comes back from the dead in NOLA and he starts seeing this girl hanging around the compound - a girl no one else can see. He and this ghost become really close friends but she doesn't remember anything about her life or death - just that she's dead and can't leave the compound. But over time she begins remembering and realizes that her new best friend is the one who killed her in the first place....
I know that's really specific but you can decide the rest and I can't wait to see what you make of this idea 🥰 Thank you so much, lovely!!!

Kol had seen you twice before he knew who you were.
The first had been a few days after Davina had successfully returned him to his original body. You had been hovering outside the Compound, watching. At first, Kol had assumed you were some kind of spy. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time someone had been sent to gather intel on his family and report back to aid in some plan for their demise. But then he had caught sight of your attire. The front of your clothing was caked in the thick red liquid he and his family had come to crave, yet he couldn’t smell a thing. He had started to follow you but you had slipped down a short and narrow street and merged amongst the many tourists, disappearing from sight and unable to track you, Kol hadn’t given it another thought.
The second time had been during one of the extravagant parties his brother Niklaus had decided to throw. It was just after midnight and despite the glorious variety of alcohol and women available, Kol was bored. Elijah had been droning on about something, but Kol wasn’t too sure what they were talking about anymore, but one thing he did know was that he wasn’t interested in anything his brother had to say. Elijah’s words seemed to skim over his head as he stared aimlessly at the people below. The noble Elijah could be so boring. Kol was mentally planning his escape route when you caught his eye from the balcony. You were dressed in the same clothes as before and you were still completely caked in blood. In a split second, Kol had placed his drink precariously on the edge of the balcony railing and took off in your direction, weaving his way through the crowded bodies. Kol had been aware of Elijah’s presence behind him, but still he followed you, determined to find out who you were. As he and Elijah stormed through the doorway you had passed through, you stood still opposite, eyes wide having been caught red-handed.
“Who are you?” Kol demanded. Silence only greeted him as your lips parted in shock.
“Kol, who are you talking to?” Kol flashed his brother an annoyed glance.
“Her-“ He flicked his head around to see you still stood there frozen. “I’ve seen her twice now!”
“Kol,” his brother spoke slowly, as you offered a small smile and an awkward wave. “There’s no one here.”
And now here he was, sat in the armchair he had bought for his room, book in hand. He didn’t flinch as he heard your breathing by his ear, his eyes remaining focused on the lines of words. It was one of the things about Kol that no one could’ve guessed, him being a reader. Since his return from the dead he had spent the majority of his time, when he wasn’t bothering his brothers that is, catching up on all of the literature he had missed in the years he had been in that blasted coffin. When he had been awoken by the Salvatore brothers, he barely had the time to read given his murderous mother and then the orders that Niklaus had tasked him with in regards to Jeremy Gilbert. But now he had the time.
He lifted a hand from the arm of the chair and flipped the page, he scanned the last few lines of the chapter then slipped in a bookmark and closed the book.
“I don’t understand the appeal myself,” Kol explained as he flipped the book in his hands, glancing across the cover. “Edward seem’s like a right twat.”
“Right!” you gasped, finally glad that someone could see the true colours of the fictional vampire. “He’s so controlling and manipulative, you see that as you move on through the books. But I mean the total disregard for his family’s safety,” Kol nodded along. “And don’t even get me started on Bella. you’s so bland, I mean seriously? I mean I get what Stephenie Meyer was trying to do make her like the average girl, but there’s average and then there’s boring, stale even,” Kol didn’t dare speak as you rambled on, a sprinkle of glittery stars appearing in your eyes as you continued to express your distaste for the bland character.
It was extraordinary - you were extraordinary.
You couldn’t remember a thing about your living life. Not your family, friends, not where you lived, anything you had done. The furthest you and Kol had gotten was a name, although it had taken the pair of you a few hours and a few dozen phone books to come up with that. There were a few (y/n)’s in the phone book of New Orleans that had been circulated just a few months ago, but even then you couldn’t identify which of the (y/n)’s you were. But now you had a name. Kol could no longer just refer to you as ‘the dead stalker’, which after a few weeks had become less of an insult and more of a term of endearment.
You couldn’t remember anything about your life, but you could remember intense feelings, like these feelings about Bella and Edward from Twilight. You also had had intense feelings about Kol’s relationships with his siblings that were still shaky and that had led Kol to the assumption that family was an important thing to you when you were alive.
“Oh, I’m rambling, sorry…” Kol was certain he could see a blush beginning to flush your cheeks as you dropped your gaze to the book cover, avoiding his eyes.
“No, please, don’t be sorry, darling,” He grinned. “How could I ever tire of your sweet voice?” Kol knew exactly what he was doing. Since he had first realized how shy you could be, he had been doing everything in his power to make you blush like the delicate rose that you were and every time so far, he had succeeded.
“And who’s sweet voice would that be, brother?” Niklaus’ words shattered the peaceful comfort that had settled in the room and Kol’s grin dipped slightly.
“Well yours of course, Niklaus, who else?” Kol flickered his eyes to you as you giggled into your hand, not that his brothers could hear you. Elijah stepped further into the room whilst Niklaus stayed situated at the door, resting against the frame with his arms crossed over his chest a slight grimace on his lips.
Elijah was more suspicious than his counterpart, Kol could tell. It was the way his eyes flickered around every inch of the room, searching for any intruder that could be hiding. Which only made it all the more amusing to Kol that Elijah would never find the intruder, you.
“Is there a reason you interrupted my reading time, or did you just wish to throw my afternoon plans out of the window?” In a split second, Niklaus had sped past Kol and grabbed the book from his hands, flipping it in his own to read the cover.
“The sparkly vampires. Really Kol?”
“A friend recommended it,” Kol defended as he sped past Niklaus to take the book back and rested it on the small side table by the chair. He watched out the corner of his eye as you slipped down from the arm of the chair and sat comfortably, your legs thrown over one of the arms and your back rested against the other.
“You have friends-?”
“I think we’re getting a bit off track here, Niklaus,” Elijah interrupted before Kol could snark back at their brother. “We came here to politely ask that you stop terrorizing the women at the local library,” Elijah ran his fingers along the spines on the bookcase wall. “It’s come to our attention from the Human faction that you’ve been spending a lot of time at the library talking with the women, one in particular being the daughter of the new Faction leader, Ottilie Landry. As you can imagine, he is hardly pleased knowing that you have been hovering around her.”
“I haven’t been terrorizing anyone,” Kol spoke firmly, all signs of amusement drained from his features leaving a displeased anger in it’s place. “Yes, I went down to the library. And yes, I asked the lovely ladies working there for their help, but I have not upset anyone. I did not threaten nor compel anyone.”
“Then why would they do as you asked?” Niklaus questioned, not bothering to hide the accusatory tone that slipped from his tongue.
“I simply asked brother. Not all of us are so feral that we’ve forgotten how to interact with others.” The slight twitch of Niklaus’ eyes was enough for Kol to know that he had successfully tapped a nerve. Elijah must’ve noticed too as he quickly carried on.
“What is it you’ve asked them to do, Kol? What could you possibly want with the library staff? You know the rules on feeding on the locals-”
“Of course,” Kol scoffed. “If I’m involved it must mean I’m up to something sinister. I must be out to destroy the city that you build whilst I was tucked away in that retched box,” his voice heightened as the underlying anger began to boil. “God forbid, I wish to live here peacefully like the rest of you. I must be up to something. Well, no, Elijah. I did not plan on feeding from the locals. I simply asked them to look through the old archives for some information I wanted to find. Is that sinister enough for you?”
A silence filled the air and despite Kol’s simmering anger, neither of his brothers seemed to care for his words, although Elijah did have the decency to look a little uncomfortable but it disappeared in a split second.
“I’m sure you’re expecting me to take off and massacre half of New Orleans in a fit of rage. Anything that would excuse you shoving one of those bloody daggers into my chest for another few centuries, right?” Kol scoffed. “But lucky for you brothers, I’ve grown up and changed my toxic ways,” His phone vibrated against the side of his leg in his jeans pocket and he slipped it out just enough to glance at the screen briefly. “It’s just a shame you haven’t done the same.”
Kol made his way out of the room, knowing that you were following close behind. He began to make his way to the entrance of the compound, not stopping till he was just out of sight of his brothers before he held his phone screen up to show you the text that had come through.
‘I found something. Tilly.’

Sister Figure
Tumblr media
Female Salvatore reader x Katherine Pierce
Summary: Katherine helps you through a sensory overload
Warnings: Sensory overload
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Katherine walked into the Salvatore boarding house, absent-mindedly looking to stir up some trouble with your older brothers. Though that was before she heard harsh breathing and crying emitting from upstairs, she heard it with her vamp hearing.
She started to make her way upstairs, the noise leading her to your bedroom where currently you're curled up in the far corner, having trouble breathing. Katherine quickly made her way over to you and started to rub your back.
She has never played around with you or hurt you ever since you guys met back in 1864. You remind her of a younger sister because when you got turned into a vampire you were only thirteen. So you still have childish tendencies but get along really well with Katherine and think of her as an older sister. Sure you have two older brothers but it's not the same as a sister.
"What happened?" Katherine whispered, gently lifting your chin up by her finger so she can look at your eyes filled with tears.
"It-It's too m-much. I-I can't stop th-thinking and everything w-won't stop moving. It-its too bright and-and-and-" you frantically said while shaking, not knowing what to do.
"All of your senses are heightened more than usual?" Katherine whispered.
You nodded and rested your head on her shoulder.
"I l-like touch. Touch is fine" you said.
"Alright hun, do you want to talk about what caused this to happen?" Katherine asked softly and pulled you closer to her, comfortingly.
"All that's happening. I can't keep up with it and it's triggering heightened everything in my body. Aren't I supposed to be dead. I just don't want to feel anything anymore" you ranted out your emotions.
"Im so sorry that you've been feeling this way y/n/n. Why didn't you tell me or at least your brothers?" Katherine asked.
"Don't want them to think I'm weak" you mumbled.
"You don't have to think that way, they love you so much. And if you ever think of turning your humanity off please promise, come to me before and we can talk about it" Katherine comforted you and kissed your forehead.
"Okay" you nodded, looking up at her with sleepy eyes.
"You tired?" She softly smiled.
You nodded again, "Can we lay down on the bed and cuddle?" You asked her sleepily.
"Of course we can, y/n/n" Katherine responded.
She picked you up and laid you down on your bed then got on beside you, opening her arms for you to climb into. Which you did, laying your head on her chest and wrapping your arms around her torso. Quickly you fell into a deep sleep, needing it badly while Katherine played around with your soft hair.
They met on a blind date that Caroline organized, at first it was somewhat awkward, since Caroline was watching them very covertly and by that I mean that she was not discreet at all, luckily Elena saw her and took her away
after that they started talking
I appreciate you very cute, charming, kind and chivalrous, and above all very attractive
he found you very interesting, nice, happy and sincere, and he thinks you are very beautiful
Little by little they see why Caroline thinks they would be a good couple and because she forced them to have that blind date and neither of them regretted going to that dinner, quite the opposite.
Kai:
you were working in a karaoke bar cleaning the counter when a customer sits on a stool in front of you I gave you
he was very cute and sexy
He asked you for a drink and while he drank his drink he looked and made fun of those who went up to sing
you found it very funny and silly
From time to time he flirted with you, since he thinks you are very pretty and hot, he would not miss that opportunity with such a sexy girl
so he stays all night keeping me company while he flirts with you and makes you laugh
Elijah:
That day you were replacing your sister at her job as a waitress, you were taking an order for two coffees when you accidentally collided with someone spilling the coffee on him, a tall, good-looking man in a suit, you were very sorry to have collided with him and having soiled his suit, he was very chivalrous and kind, he told you that it did not matter
He was in the place for a long time and you could feel his gaze a few times and when you finished your shift you brought him a coffee to apologize again, but he insisted that you sit down and they talked like that for a long time
to tell the truth you found him attractive and elegant like no man you had ever met before
for him you were very beautiful and clumsy which made you look very cute in his eyes
I'll Always Help You
Pairing: Stefan x GN!Reader
Summary: In which you and Damon have been feeding on people in Mystic Falls. And everything has been going great until you accidentally kill someone, so you end up calling Stefan for help.
Warnings: Mentions of blood, mentions of death.
Tumblr media
You couldn't breathe as you stared at the body that lay on the ground in front of you. You weren't even sure how it happened. You'd only intended to do what Damon had taught you. Snatch, eat, erase.
Except you'd clearly gone too far as there was a person lying on the ground, their throat ripped open by your teeth.
As you stood there, your body trembling, you thought of Stefan. Only a few hours before this, you and Damon were sauntering out of the house to get 'lunch' and like always, Stefan didn't approve.
For years, he'd grilled you on how it was wrong to feed on people, trying relentlessly to get you adopt his way of living. But you never listened, you always chose Damon's way because it was 'fun'.
Now you were seriously regretting not listening to Stefan as your idea of fun had clearly gone too far.
You quickly pulled your phone out of your jacket pocket, the device slipping in your bloodied hands a little, and you dialled Stefan's number.
Despite Damon practically being your best friend, there was no point in calling him since he'd just brush it off like it was nothing. Unlike you, he had experience in killing people. Stefan was your only option.
You almost collapsed when you finally heard his voice down the phone. "Hello?"
"Stefan?"
"(y/n)? What's wrong? Are you okay?"
"I...I need your help...something...happened and I don't know what to do." You choked out, unable to keep your breathing steady as you desperately waited for him to say something.
"Where are you?"
You looked around and you managed to spot the Mystic Grill in the clearing across the street. "Uh...I'm in the woods...across from the Mystic Grill."
"Alright, I'll be there in a minute."
He hung up the phone and you immediately collapsed against a tree, unable to control your panic. You knew Stefan wouldn't be long but it felt like you were waiting ages for him to arrive.
When he finally appeared in front of you, his eyes instantly focused in on the dead body in the grass.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." You cried, your chest becoming heavy as you looked over at Stefan. "I really didn't mean to...I...oh god...I...killed someone."
"No, it's okay alright?" Stefan said, his voice gentle as he stepped toward you, his hands coming up to rest on either side of your face.
"I didn't mean to." You repeated, desperately shaking your head at him.
"I know, I know. Just...go back to the house and I'll take care of the body, okay?"
You nodded, doing as he said and running back to the house.
When you got there, you immediately went over to Damon's room to get his bourbon. And you practically started chugging the bottle as you sat down in the living room, unable to wrench your thoughts away from what you'd just done.
They were dead. And you killed them. You'd never killed anyone before.
You forced the alcohol down your throat as the tears started to fall again.
But before you could completely break down, you heard someone come in the door. Looking up, you saw Stefan standing a few metres away, a pitiful look in his eyes.
Before you could say anything, he came over to you, carefully taking the bottle from your shaking hands.
"You can't let this break you." He finally said, kneeling down in front of you. "I know first hand what something like this can do to you, and it's not pretty, especially when you're a vampire."
"But...I killed someone."
"So have I...and so has Damon, and Elena, and Caroline." He listed off. "But we came back from it...well, maybe not Damon. But what you need to know is that you can come back from this, okay?"
"You dont hate me?"
He smiled at you then. "How could I hate you? You didn't mean to kill that person."
"But I would've never killed them if I just listened to you."
"Hey, you made a mistake." He assured you, his hand coming up to cup the side of your face. "And there's nothing we can do now but try to move past it."
"Will you help me?"
"Of course." He said softly, before pulling you into a hug. "I'll always help you."
☆。I know I haven’t been on here in the longest time, but I’m sorta back so here’s a Klaroline one shot as an apology. Please don’t hate me 🫣
SERIES ONE: KLAROLINE
𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗔𝗡 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗕𝗘𝗦
&
𝗛𝗬𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗗 𝗞𝗟𝗔𝗨𝗦 𝗠𝗜𝗞𝗔𝗘𝗟𝗦𝗢𝗡
"Okay favorite color?" Her voice was light and airy as she called the next question. Klaus leans behind her combing his slender fingers through her bouncy water curls. Humming softly to an older classical singer he favored.
His young blonde turns her head a little to retrieve his attention again—-not that she ever lost it, but he hadn't answered quickly like her last few turns.
The original chuckles lightly and kisses her hair, "that one's easy, it's yellow."
Caroline shakes her head but hums when he massages her scalp with his firm hands. She lets her body sink deeper into his spread legs, feeling her hands wave and sway with the bathtub water. Klaus's finger graze the tip of her temple before he pulls them back lightly.
"What was my youngest brother's name?"
The question itself didn't float around so hotly or discomforted as it once did in the first year of their relationship. At first he wouldn't answer any questions that she'd asked—-involving his past sibling. Always reminding how she didn't need to dig into something he'd never cared to talk about, which caused arguments and very emotional tears.
That was then though.
He hears her heart pump slightly more, a known excitement coursing through her delicate skin. He knew how much she enjoyed talking about 'the Viking days' with him. Always finding deep enjoyment in his stories of how he once lived his very old and tedious life.
"I personally love calling him Henry, but his name was Henrik." Her head tilts with a speckle of sass in her tone, knowing he'd be smirking behind her. It was true Caroline loved calling Henrik—-Henry or little hen, saying if he was still alive they'd be best friends. Making bracelets, playing with their magic, still remaining their fragile human selves,  and playing innocent jokes on the rest of his dysfunctional family.
Klaus smirks--as she'd known. Thinking about how much a simple human girl could shift his dark and immortal life. So much of him he'd thought had died along with the his last human heart beat, she'd pulled out of his cold blocked off heart.
He continued to wonder where she'd been when he was human and begging to find a love such as the kind they'd experienced currently. Well of course he knew that she wasn't even a seedling when he was flesh and fragile skinned, but it never hurt to question.
The still hot bathtub water waves against her shifting to lean her head back toward his bare chest. Humming when his hands wrap to cover her bare---soft skin, pulling her closer in between his legs.
Klaus leans down to plant sweet lipped touches across her next, slowly tasting the salty taste of the lavender bubble bath. Nobody would or could ever understand his affection for the short blonde that leaned up against his chest in a fathomable way.
None could understand how badly he breathed her oxygen, ingesting the sweet tangling smell of her everything. Klaus had always lived to be the eternal bachelor, until the day she'd run into him while he was walking through the wood in mystic falls. Trying to plot ways to get the doppelganger to break his curse.
He remembered how she criticized him on being a weirdo for walking in the woods at nearly  eleven at night. Her hair had been  wet from the lake that she'd been taking a late night swim in, speckles falling down her neck, just above the beating line that pumped the invigorating liquid he'd feasted upon only hours before from a bystander.
It was like his heart skipped the centuries worth of beats it had over the thousand years. Watching her chest rise and fall ever so gently as she breathed in the thing he'd no longer needed. Caroline had been the first breath he'd breathed since before the sword went right into his heart.
That was the night he'd felt a crack run down the barrier of his heart when she'd smiled at him after he walked her up the white boarded porch of her mother's old home. Klaus had fallen quicker than he'd ever felt one could fall.
He trails his lips up her soft baby like skin, towards the under bone of her neck that connected to her ear. Nibbling at the skin there, then planting a tender kiss against the never there mark.
"Your turn, sweetheart," his voice whispers, listening to her barley sounded hum in return.
Caroline sighs gently, "What's my middle name?"
He doesn't ponder on the thought, she'd known that he knew every simple detail about her. Including the cloud shaped birthmark that was underneath her left breast, or the star tattoo that resided on her right ankle.
Truth was she loved hearing him say it, regardless if it was when they would disagree on something and he'd bluntly burst out the name to grab her attention in a less physical manner. Or when he'd say if she was testing his patients in the most loving---but childish ways.
"Elizabeth."
Her body tingled in the most deliciously delicate ways. Hearing each syllable fall from his fine wined lips, having the feeling of being held by the most dangerous man to walk among the world. The power that came with his detailed and vibrant accent every each of words he'd spoken to her, but the name---oh the name, it made her want to bury herself underneath the tongue in which he'd used it.
Nothing ever made a name so simple as Elizabeth could ever sound so special, so tender, so earnest, as Klaus saying it in the presence of her finely pierced ears. Caroline had imagined living her life until age's of normal humans came to take her away, a astounding journalism career, a husband she'd met by an accidental bump in a supermarket, marriage, two beautiful children--maybe even a dog, and the love that followed with the wish.
But being with an immortal hybrid who'd burn down the world for a scratch against her peach colored skin, for a wrong head turn to curse profanities against her clear mind, or even the simplest of coffee mistakes. A man who breathed in her skin, her eyes, her soul, it was all so delicate.
So alluring and fictional, she'd be with him until the universe said 'no mas'. Till her old timed out coral blue eyes seen nothing but bur without a pair of reading glasses, and he still looked like the gorgeous man he timelessly was.
simply perfection, in both senses of mind.
you can make a one-shot for klaus mikaelson very much in love with y/n based on the song i wanna be yours by arctic monkeys (you can do it from klaus's point of view)
I wanna be yours
Pairing: Klaus Mikaelson x Katherine's sister! reader Summary: Over the ages, Klaus finally matures to admit that he has fallen in love with you, Katherine Pierce's sister. However, can you two be more than occasional "once in a century" one-night stands? Can he be yours, and you only his? Nonsense from me: So sorry it took me so long. I hope You like it. <;3 Warning(s): the reader is afraid of relationships and commitments; Klaus loves the reader, but it takes 400 years for him to realize it; violence; blood; curses; and so on Word count: ???(9k)???(I don't know why and when it became so long, and I'm a little nervous that it's such a long tapeworm)
Tumblr media
I wanna be your vacuum cleaner Breathing in your dust
It started very innocently, like any real apocalypse or nightmare. Klaus didn't even realize when Y/N Petrova—the sister of the cold bitch, pain in the ass, and one and only Katherine Pierce—stole his heart.
Yes. She stole it. Klaus did not believe that he would willingly give her the meager remnants of his humanity (even if he hated them).
He could easily have been hiding his unwanted desire for centuries. Occasional encounters with the younger Petrova, their accidental, intense trysts, and once-in-a-century one-night stands, were completely enough to quench his thirst for this diabolical, dangerous woman.
But since their paths met again in Mystic Falls (while searching for a cure for vampirism), Klaus wanted more.
He desperately sought her slightest attention. He followed her around the city like a shadow. He stayed with her as much as he could, even giving her access to his cure research and telling her what he did know about it… well, part of it - Mikaelson can't trust the devil's sister. But everything he was doing since she arrived was just for Y/N to find her way back to his bed again.
He needed to vent his lust to Y/N. He was sure that after one night together he would revert to his murderous habits and continue his ruthless fight for the cure without the (delightfully tempting and beautiful) distractions around him. He was wrong. Terrible wrong.
Her warmth, touch, scent, the softness of her skin, the wonderful moans that lingered in his mind, the delighted look on her blissful post-orgasmic face, and the soothing weight of her body on his as she fell peacefully asleep were like a nercotic to Klaus.
He needed more.
He needed more of her. He would take from her everything she could give him. Even if it was her hate, anger, frustration, or just pure physical desire. Even if being with her was leading to his downfall. She was a siren, and he willingly fell for her alluring song like a foolish pirate.
And now, lying with Y/N in his arms, as he tenderly combed her hair after a passionate night they spent together, he couldn't get the one stupid, irritatingly frequent thought out of his mind.
He wanted to be hers.
I wanna be your Ford Cortina I will never rust
He remembered the day when their mutual interest in each other turned into something more. (At least on his side.)
Y/N and Katerina were hiding from the originals in Venice. Klaus and his brother, thanks to their vampires, found the sisters there. So under the cover of night, masks on their faces, they mingled with the celebrating crowd.
Klaus sensed her before he saw her.
The scent of her sweet perfume hit his nostrils, enforcing his determination to find the fleeing vampire. He had to find her. Now.
He made his way through the crowd of people, searching among the masks and bodies for the one person who, despite such blatant betrayal, could easily soothe his anger with one banal kiss.
He remembered clearly one day teasing Elijah that he was starting to care about Katerina. He had no idea then that the younger Petrova was already paving the way to his cold, dead heart. Or that Y/N had him wrapped around her little finger. Klaus laughed bitterly, remembering his old words. "We do not feel and we do not care, Elijah." What would his former self think of him if it saw him chasing the slightest trace of the woman who had thwarted his plans to become a hybrid? What would he say if it came out that all Klaus wants to do now with the youngest Petrova is kiss the living hell out of her and lock her in his arms forever?
And when he saw her. On a gondola in the middle of one of the rivers, when her night-black mask concealed her beautiful face and eyes, which sparkled in the light of torches and lanterns floating above the water, he felt something he hadn't felt for a very long time and was very frightened to admit to himself...
For these eyes, many men have completely lost their minds. Suddeny, she looked in his direction, subconsciously sensing that she was being watched. And in this moment, when their eyes met, Klaus knew that, like those unfortunate fools before him, he too was lost forever. It takes her one look to make him forget his main goal.
In a second, he was on the other side of the river. He was standing on the pier, waiting for her gondola to reach the shore.
"Hello, love." he said, extending his hand to help her out. With incredible grace, she stood next to him, completely ignoring his gesture. He smiled. That's what he loved about her. Stubborn, steadfast independence.
"Klaus. I guess you're not here for food and music?" he smiled involuntarily, ignoring her feigned hostile tone as her irises met his again.
"I much prefer beautiful views. But you're right, my main goal was not to enjoy the festival. I had… completely different plans."
"With my sister? I can assure you that I'm much better company than Katerina. We may have… a different kind of play together. Much more pleasurable." she said with a seductive smile, blinking her eyelashes innocently as her hand played with the sleeve of his coat, occasionally touching the skin of his rough palm with her soft fingertips.
Another reminder of how different they were from each other.
"Are you trying to distract me so your lovely sister can run away again?"
"You tell me…" Y/N took a step towards him, pressing her chest against his. She licked her lips, drawing his heavy, watchful gaze. "Am I a good distraction, my lord?" she whispered, leaning closer to him so that their noses were touching.
Klaus had never been this close to her lips... but he couldn't afford to indulge in his darkest desires. Not like this - thanks to a cunning plan hatched by the Petrova siblings.
"You're playing a very dangerous game, love…" he responded quietly, slipping his hands into her hair. And when their lips would finally meet after century of chasing, he pushed her a decent distance away from him. Y/N gasped in outrage as she nearly bumped into the crates with fruits behind her. "You should be careful, or you'll get burned because of it someday. And know when and on whom to use those sweet eyes of yours, which can work, but only on lesser men. Now get away with Katerina before I change my mind."
Without waiting for her response, he headed in the opposite direction, leaving the young vampire behind. But Y/N wouldn't let him go that easily.
"You won't fool me! Not about that!" He turned to her, raising an eyebrow questioningly. Klaus was doing his best to hide from the woman in front of him his stupid fondness for her. He was the original vampire, a hybrid, and the most powerful and fearsome being on this earth. He couldn't have a weakness, much less a simple woman who had tricked him, escaped, and ruined his plans. But all he could do was stand there and watch her in fascination as she got angrier with every step closer to him. "I see desire in your eyes every time you look at me. You want me, and that's why you're playing cat and mouse with us, but you know what? I'm tired of taking orders. From Katerina, you, and others who best know what I should do."
"So? What are you going to do, love?" he asked, smiling maliciously in challenge. He was genuinely curious to see where the young vampire's frustration and fury might lead him today. She must have had a good argument with her sister before he got here. Otherwise, she would never touch him.
Y/N used her vampire-speed and pinned him to the wall of one of the buildings.
They stared into each other's eyes, building tension with anticipation of what both of them had wanted since they met. Y/N's running away and him killing her family didn't seem to be conducive to building a romance. But now, when so much time has passed and the youngest Petrova is still struggling with the vampire's heightened emotions? They succumbed to the pleasures of a forbidden affair, finally connecting their lips in their first lustful, passionate kiss.
"What time is it?" Y/N's soft, surly mumbling against his neck snapped Klaus out of his memories. He glanced at the alarm clock.
9 a.m.
"6 a.m." he lied to her, tightening his grip around her half-asleep body. He wasn't ready to let her go yet.
"So stop staring at me and go back to sleep, half-wolfie." she mumbled, squirming in his arms until she found a comfortable position with her head right over his heart and her legs between his.
"Half-wolfie?" he asked amusedly, laughing softly, which made the vampire's head bob slightly. She rose for a moment, opening one eye and shooting him a angry glare.
"Would you rather be an crossbreed? Sleep or I will take another bedroom in this ridiculously large house." she groaned, laying her head on his chest again.
"As you wish, love." he murmured, kissing the top of her head and letting himself go back to sleep, hugging the one woman he could never truly have.
Because no matter how many nights they spend together or how much time they devote to each other during the day, all they will be are midnight lovers, hiding their relationship.
They stood on opposite sides of the barricade.
Y/N would never leave Katerina, and Klaus wouldn't abandon his siblings for the younger Petrova.
The world and fate were against them.
And Klaus was the only one who was ready to fight with them, only to gain the feeling of a sleeping beauty in his arms.
If you like your coffee hot Let me be your coffee pot You call the shots babe I just wanna be yours
The problem that has plagued Klaus for ages is that he and Y/N could never truly belong together.
He couldn't make any claims to her, and every time he tried to transfer their friend/enemy relationship with benefits to something more, younger Petrova brought him down to earth. He never cared much about it. He believed that Y/N needed time to understand her feelings for him. However, one conversation he overheard put his hopes of being hers in great doubt.
"What's going on with you and Klaus?" Katerina laughed out loud, obviously genuinely amused by something. "Don't make that face. I was talking to Kol about how often you show up at their mansion at night and you don't really go to gossip with Rebekah or Elijah. Are you two together?"
"I don't know what you're talking about." she brushed it off, trying to get off topic.
"Oh come on, spill the beans! Do you love him?" Klaus unconsciously held his breath. His heart was beating wildly, waiting for her answer that could change everything between them, made his deepest dreams come true.
"If you must know, I don't love him. It is just sex. Very good and pleasant sex. No feelings except pure, animal desire and passion." Klaus felt as if he had been punched in the stomach. Yeah. What was he counting on? After all, no one could love a monster like him. Unconditional, sincere love was not meant for him… even if he wanted it so much.
"Ugh, okay! Spare me the details, I don't want to vomit. But I thought you…"
"Love is a vampire's greatest weakness, Katerina. And we are not weak." his breathing quickened as he realized the true meaning of her words.
She heard them. Somehow, 1,000 years ago, she'd heard him talking to Elijah about love in a vampire's life... Back when he didn't believe in the true power of such a thing as love.
"And what about me, then?"
"You're my sister. That's something different. Now, I have to go. See you tomorrow." he hid in the shadows, waiting for the two women to pass him, and stayed there for a while.
Even though Klaus' heart was broken into a thousand little pieces, he knew he couldn't resist Y/N. He would take anything she could give him. Even that delusion of romance and a loving relationship that he both dreamed of and hated at the same time.
He couldn't believe he could just fall for her when he knew full well that things between them could only be physical. However, he soon found out that love really doesn't choose.
Secrets I have held in my heart Are harder to hide than I thought Maybe I just wanna be yours I wanna be yours, I wanna be yours
Klaus wasn't about to show it to her. It was supposed to be a secret he would take with him to the grave (if someone managed to kill him). However, Y/N's curiosity, coupled with his lack of focus on finding the cure, made a very bad, devastating combination. He finally managed to focus on something other than the vampire who had been distracting him for centuries, and for a moment of inattention everything went haywire again. Ages of slowly and uncertainly, but still, winning Y/N's heart have gone to hell.
Only because he didn't lock up his damn art studio.
Kol is going to laugh so fucking hard when he finds out. His younger brother will never let him forget that he lost the love of his life because she was scared by a million paintings of her in his house. She probably thought he was a goddamn stalker.
Klaus stood in the doorway, watching Y/N's expressionless face. He admired and hated her ability to hide her emotions. He had the impression that she always read him like an open book. He couldn't hide anything from her. But she could easily hide from anyone behind her mask. It was both terrifying and fascinating at the same time.
"Are you going to say something?" he finally asked after waiting a long time for any reaction from her.
She shifted her gaze from the paintings to him. Klaus felt shivers run through his body. He couldn't remember the last time he felt such intense fear.
"Well, it's... it's nice. But you painted my nose wrong."
"What?! I didn't! I..." he stopped when he heard her burst out laughing after valiant attempts to hold back. A smile involuntarily formed on his face upon hearing this beautiful and rare sound. "You're not mad… or scared?"
"Of what? You weren't able to paint my nose properly? Or putting on me a yellow dress when you know that I hate that color?"
"It's not yellow, it's orange mixed with… Do you really have to tease me like that? Stop laughing, bloody woman."
"I'm sorry, you just make a funny face when you're protecting your art. To be honest, it's so sweet." she laughed so loudly that she had to lean in half.
"You should know better than to mock a very powerful and angry hybrid, love." he grunted in anger. Y/N, seeing how grumpy he had become, walked over to him with a cute smile. Klaus groaned internally. He didn't know which was worse. She running away from him or teasing him about it for the foreseeable future.
"Do you really think that after I saw all those paintings you can threaten me? I know you're obsessed with me, so I'm the most fucking safest person on earth." she bragged, throwing her arms around his shoulders.
"Don't be complacent, your pretty features are not unusual. I have seen many of them in my long life." he grunted, slapping her hands off of him.
"And yet I'm the only one who has a private collection of portraits made by the mighty hybrid."
"You won't let it go, would you?" he sighed, looking at the very amused woman as he tried to ignore the growing, warm feeling in his chest. God. How come that just hearing her laugh made him feel calm and happy?
"Nope." she said, putting her hands again on his shoulders and pulling him closer to her as she was playing with his hair. "But it's quite a nice feeling... you know, being your one and only beloved muse."
"Someone here is terribly pleased with themselves. I think I have to remind you of your place." he grunted feistily, grabbing her waist.
"I'd like to see you try."
Suddenly, Klaus swung her over his shoulder and slapped her bottom as he carried the laughing woman to his bedroom. Yeah... he was definitely in love with her.
Wanna be yours Wanna be yours Wanna be yours
Klaus began to squirm in the bed, trying to pull Y/N's warm body to him, which he had somehow lost in his sleep. He froze in place, feeling the emptiness on the other side of the bed. A familiar bitterness and disappointment took over his body. He could have guessed that she would leave him as usual. However, as he became more aware of his surroundings, he heard her muffled voice coming from the bathroom. She was talking to someone. This time she didn't leave him, she even stayed with him all night! Excitement and hope rose involuntarily in him. Maybe this time it will be different?
"Yes, Katherine, I know. I don't know how I overslept either. I know I'm irresponsible, and I'm ruining our plans. No. I'm not enjoying this situation, you're just acting like you got your period magically. It's not my fault I missed the plane, believe me, and don't you dare take your anger out on me just because you had a fight with Elijah. Talk to me when you've calmed down. I'm not going to be your punching bag. Bye." The bathroom door handle began to move, and Klaus quickly closed his eyes, pretending to be asleep.
Y/N walked into the room and sighed as she dropped the phone into her purse. She ran a hand through her hair in nervousness and turned to the hybrid.
"I know you're awake. You stopped snoring." the man snorted indignantly, opening his eyes and appreciating her underwear-clad body. He could wake up to this view every day. "I'll castrate your brother as soon as I see him. You're lucky you're useful, or you'd have suffered the same fate for tricking me this morning."
"Very brave for an ordinary vampire to plan an attack on the original as the first thing to do in the morning. Apart from that, I don't snore."
"My nights experience with you says otherwise. And please, we both know I'm not just an ordinary vampire. You'd better make up for your deception toward me today before I get offended and seek someone else's company. Maybe Damon will be perfect? I've heard that for Katherine, he is very good in..."
Klaus cut her off by pinning her against the wall. Their chests rubbed against each other, her lacy bra teasing his bare, exposed skin. She raised an eyebrow, completely unimpressed. Klaus growled, baring her neck and extending his fangs to teasingly run them over her most sensitive spots.
"You will not talk about another man in my bedroom. These lips..." he said, resting his thumb against her soft pink lip, forcing Y/N to part her mouth. "Can only whisper, scream and moan my name. I must have been too gentle with you yesterday if you had the audacity to tease me like that. Maybe I should make sure you know who you belong to?"
"I don't belong to anyone."
"Wrong answer, love." he growled throatily, pulling her against him and pushing her against the bed as he climbed over her until their faces floated at the same height.
"What are you going to do? Fuck me to death? You should know better than to scare me with a good time, Niklaus."
"I'm going to do something completely different, love." Y/N raised an eyebrow questioningly, challenging him. Suddenly, fear flickered in her eyes as she realized his true intentions.
"No, Nik. We agreed never to…"
"That was ages ago, love." he murmured with a smirk as he began tickling her over the bare skin of her sensitive belly that was exposed to him.
"NO! HAHAH-NIK, STOP! I-HAHAHA!" she screamed, throwing herself into his arms, trying to avoid his fingers.
"I'm sorry. There is no mercy for you, love. At least you apologize."
"I"M-HAHAHA SORRY! PLEASE-HAHAHA SSSTOP IT!"
"You know what I meant, Y/N." he replied unfazed, only strengthening his attack against her sensitive skin.
"I CAN'T WITH-HAHAHAHAH YOUR FINGERS-HAHAHAH ON ME-AHAHAHA!" Klaus took pity on her, stopping to tickle her as he studied her red-laughing face intently as she took in quick, short breaths. "I hate you." she panted, breathing heavily. Klaus took a breath to answer her, but his sister's scream stopped him.
"Nik! Kol is in danger! He went to the Gilbert house to kill Jeremy, and they still have an white oak stake left! What the bloody hell?! Y/N?!" she screamed, turning her back to them two as soon as she entered the room and saw... THIS.
The two vampires looked at each other in shock.
"Hi, Rebekah. That's not what it looks like."
"So you don't fuck my brother?"
"Well, I did it earlier, but… Klaus, could you please get off me? This is awkward enough already."
"And put some clothes on you for the love of God!" Rebekah added, still with her back to them. Once they were both decent, Rebekah looked at them in disbelief.
"You two... How? When?!"
"Some 400 years ago. So, Kol…"
"WHAT?! But you hate each other! Well, maybe he's staring at you with puppy dog eyes in love, but you loathe him!" she shouted, pointing at her grumpy brother with her finger.
Klaus rolled his eyes. He didn't care at all about what situation Rebekah found them in. His siblings had an extraordinary tendency to come into his bedroom at more... steamy moments. To be honest, he was more surprised that Rebekah had only discovered their little secret now. Talking about her.
The original turned his curious gaze to Y/N. Again, their future was in her hands. But the vampire didn't seem eager to change their relationship in any way. Certainly not in the way Klaus had dreamed of for so long...
"Am I the only one in this room who actually cares about your brother's life? What did Kol do this time?" her attention turned away from her the penetrating gaze of the man sitting next to her.
Y/N breathed a sigh of relief as the siblings plunged into conversation. However, from the look Klaus gave her, she knew things would change drastically between them in the next few days. She could no longer avoid his longing glances and dismiss his attempts to establish a friendly, partner relationship instead of stopping at their one-night stands. But did she want to change anything?
Let me be your leccy meter And I'll never run out And let me be the portable heater That you'll get cold without
"It's a cold night." he said, sneaking up behind her and throwing his cloak over her shoulders. "I dare say that a short dress doesn't help keep you warm."
"Don't even start. I'm just waiting for the moment when I can wear pants without getting those judging, murderous looks from other women and lecherous expressions on the faces of these perverts."
"Rebekah says the same thing…" he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and fastened the buttons on his coat. Y/N giggled, returning Klaus' blue eyes to her face again. Only then did the man realize what he was doing, and he let go of the buttons, leaving her half-buttoned with a mischievous smirk on her lips. He felt his cheeks heat up slightly. "What are you doing here?"
"Katherine is playing with humans nearby. I thought I'd drop by for a visit and see for myself this great kingdom you've built, Klaus the Madness." she replied, leaning again against the railing of his balcony and staring out at the lively, dancing streets of New Orleans.
The light from the street lamp illuminated her face. Klaus absorbed all the changes that had taken place in her appearance, stating only that she was even more beautiful than when they last met. He didn't know how she did it.
"Is my fame starting to finally overtake me?" he asked, joining her side quickly. Y/N looked at him with a teasing smile, playing with the bracelet on his wrist. The same she gave him an century ago. She didn't think Klaus was sentimental enough to keep it.
"You are on the lips of all supernaturals in the world." she finally replied, shifting her gaze to his eyes, which shone in the light of the street lamp.
"Well, I would rather be on the tempting lips of only one, beautiful supernatural."
"And who could it be, my lord?" she replied in an equally flirtatious tone as her hand began to travel along his arm and muscles.
"Those mesmerizing eyes and cheeky lips will put you someday in a big trouble, love."
"Please, I'm Y/N Petrova. I'm always in danger, but I can get myself out. And also…" she kissed him, slowly undoing the buttons on his shirt. Klaus groaned, drawing her closer with one arm and cupping her warm cheek with the other hand. God, he missed the feeling of her in his arms. She pulled away from him, placing one finger over his lips, and staring at his eyes dilated with lust as they both breathed heavily. She ran one hand over the exposed skin of his chest, suddenly grabbing his necklace and pulling him to her with all her strength so that their noses rubbed against each other. "I'm not afraid of you."
"And that is your great mistake, love."
"Probably." she whispered, licking her lips in anticipation. She smiled as soon as she saw his gaze follow the movement of her tongue.
"Definitely." he replied, grabbing her waist, lifting her, and vampire-speeding her to his bedroom, where they could be as loud and as naked as they wanted.
That night was amazing. One of the best they had: she visited him for the first time in his beloved city, the home he built and hoped it would be theirs in the future, where he is for Y/N something more than a nightly forbidden pleasure. However, the pain of rejection when Klaus woke up in the morning among cold sheets with no goodbye note effectively pulled him out of this childish fantasy of belonging to her. He could never really have her. And Y/N reminded him about it every time.
I wanna be your setting lotion (Wanna be) Hold your hair in deep devotion (How deep?) At least as deep as the Pacific Ocean I wanna be yours
"What you were thinking about?! YOU COULD DIE THERE!" Klaus yelled at the woman as Rebekah took the last bits of wood out of the vampire's wound. She was only allowed into Y/N because Klaus' hands were too trembling for him to remove the white oak from his vampire's body by himself. Kol watched with great guilt as Petrova winced in pain.
"If that kid hit Kol, Rebekah wouldn't have much to fix, Klaus. I would be nothing but ashes, and you know that. Besides, I can say the same about you. You ran in there uninvited and ran out with me in your arms when you almost passed out from the pain yourself. What if they had more stakes? You could have died too." he ignored her, thrashing about the room in anger. Y/N snorted, falling onto the couch, so she got more comfortable while Rebekah was searching for the last splinter.
"I'm going to burn down their hellhouse as soon as I put my dear little brother back in the coffin." Kol jumped up from the couch with a horrified look.
"What?! But Nik, I..." the original tried to explain himself but stopped when Klaus threw a bottle at him.
"You went there even though you knew full well that they could kill us! You are a danger not only to yourself and Y/N but also to us, showing them how weak and easy to kill we are. You don't remember what the hell happened to Finn?! You want to share his bloody fate!" he shouted, walking towards his brother. Y/N jumped up from her seat and stood between the brothers, placing her hand on the hybrid's furiously beating heart.
"Klaus. You need to calm down."
"Go away, Y/N. This is between me and Kol. Rebekah, take her somewhere safe until I can deal with this mess our brother created." he growled at his sister, not giving the woman in front of him a single glance.
"No."
"What did you say?" he growled, finally looking at her for the first time since he saw little Gilbert stake her (luckily for the young hunter, he missed).
"I said no, Niklaus. You won't tell me what to do. If I want to, I'll take a stake for him again and again. I'll even protect him from your stupid daggers, and you can't change that." Rebekah and Kol nodded, both agreeing to leave the room as soon as "mom and dad" began to fight. They left unnoticed as the two stared at each other. Y/N with incredible calm; Klaus with incredible fury.
Why is she so devoted to Kol? What did he do that Y/N, without a moment's hesitation, threw herself in front of him to protect him from the white oak? What did he say to her to elicit such feelings from her?
"Why? What happened that you suddenly started feeling so strongly attached? I thought you were afraid of commitment, love." he asked bitterly, with clear resentment in his voice.
"Don't you dare to do this about us."
"YOU ALWAYS DOING IT ABOUT EVERYTHING BUT NOT US!" he shouted, tired of hiding his emotions. Especially after less than 15 minutes ago, she was in danger of dying in his arms. He had had enough. He was tired. And the object of his only desire did everything in her power to make things difficult for him. Yet he still couldn't be mad at her.
Good thing Kol got the hell out of there. Otherwise, his brother would have ripped off his head with my bare hands.
"Klaus, there is no time for..."
"Do you love him?" he asked, interrupting her. Panic rose in his chest, waiting for her answer—for Y/N to plunge the dagger into his barely beating heart and destroy whatever hope was left in him.
"What?!"
"You've heard me. Do you love my brother?"
"Yes. And this is exactly why I was fucking with you for the last 400 bloody years! My god, are you so blinded by your rage at Kol that it attacks your last brain cells?! That you insinuate some made-up, idiotic stuff and pounce on everyone like a rabid dog?!" she screamed, walking up to him unconsciously so that she was shouting it straight in his face.
"It's not anger that controls me." he growled through his teeth, clenching his fists in anger.
"Then what is it?!"
"Do you really want me to say it out loud, Y/N?" he whispered, staring at her softly. Y/N immediately calmed down. The atmosphere in the room changed from agitated to terrifyingly calm. They could both hear their frantically beating hearts in the oppressive silence between them.
"I..."
"NIKLAUS!" Elijah's scream and his quick footsteps interrupted their conversation. The woman thanked all the gods above who had sent the original at that moment.
"The worst bloody moment." Klaus whispered under his breath, thinking she wouldn't hear him, and brushed past her, leaving her alone in the room.
And Y/N wondered, breathing heavily after their argument… did she really want to hear THAT from Klaus? Was she ready for such a big change in their lives?
Secrets I have held in my heart Are harder to hide than I thought Maybe I just wanna be yours I wanna be yours, I wanna be yours
"Miss Mystic Falls? Are you kidding me? You know, if you're sending me a dress with a place to visit, I'm expecting more than some stupid, stiff party for teenage girls and their rich parents." she whined, walking around the pond with the laughing hybrid.
"Be quieter, love. These girls have pretty sharp nails."
"And I've got fangs, claws, and you. I'm damn better armed." she said, counting on her fingers, smirking mischievously.
"Should I take that as a compliment or an insult?"
"As if you cared if I offended you."
"Well since we're on our date..."
"Date?! First of all, since when do you even date? Secondly, we're not on one. And third: a beautiful dress will not suddenly win you my favor. Aside from the fact that neither of us is suited to any kind of relationship, I have to ask you. Who are you and what have you done with Klaus Mikaelson?!" Klaus started laughing out loud, unknowingly attracting the attention of the Mystic Falls gang. They did not think either of them had ever seen the original in such a good mood without committing any murder first. "Seriously, what happened to you? You're nice, you're flirty, and you haven't threatened to kill my sister once. I almost didn't recognize you in that suit. Are you trying to be Elijah?"
"Maybe Klaus is on vacation." they walked all the way around the pond and went back to the party. A slow tune started to play. "Will you please me, love?"
Y/N blushed slightly, accepting his outstretched hand. Klaus led them to the dance floor, keeping his distance from her, which made Y/N curse him internally. After being apart for so long, all she wanted was to feel his skin against hers. Nik didn't need to make this romance feel, prolonging everything... But her stupid, treacherous heart was beating madly with every minute she spent close to the original shamelessly flirting with her. And she didn't know how much more she would be able to push him away.
"On vacation? Do you have a split personality, or are you just not in this cure fight? I thought you would like to turn your doppelgänger into a human." she finally broke the silence, returning to their earlier conversation.
"I don't need hybrids that much. It turned out to be… not exactly a good idea."
"Let me guess. They inherit your character, and now you can't take these anymore? Welcome into my world! I have to deal with your grumpy attitude at any time we meet."
"Ouch. That really hurt." he leaned closer, waiting to see if she was going to push him off. She leaned closer still, trying to concentrate on anything but how his hands were on her waist. Y/N missed him in this big break they had. But she wouldn't be the one to admit it first.
"And yet you still come back to me like a lost puppy. Am I such an astonishing person that the mighty hybrid just can't imagine his life without me?" Klaus smiled and dipped her, holding her tight in his arms like she was about to disappear in any second. They looked deeply into each other's eyes, enchanted by the moment and totally forgetting about the world around them. Their lips were so close…
"Maybe." he whispered, gently nudging her nose with his. Y/N held her breath unconsciously, waiting for his next move as they still couldn't tear their eyes away from each other. "Maybe I just wanna be yours." Klaus leaned closer to her, willing to cross the last millimeter between them, but someone's loud grunt effectively killed the mood. If looks could kill, Damon Salvatore would be dead by now. Probably long before meeting any originals.
"I'm not sorry for interrupting you while you were trying to get a bite into your snack, but we kind of need your help… Y/N? What the hell are you doing here?!"
"Long time, no see, Damon. Did you miss me? Or maybe you spent a hundred years trying to find and rescue my sister. Oh, wait... you did. Such a poor thing."
Damon took a step toward her, growling, but Klaus stood in front of Y/N, staring warningly at the young vampire. Y/N was smiling ominously, pleased with the black-haired vampire's surprised expression. She might as well play with him just a little bit after she returns to Katherine.
"I didn't think you'd be close to the originals. Especially, after what he had done to your family."
"And I didn't think that after what Katherine did to you and sweet Stefan, you'd fight for the love of her doppelgänger. See how ridiculous the world is, Dame?"
"You don't know what you're getting yourself into, Klaus. To be honest, I thought you were a little smarter than to fall for her, but I guess I was wrong."
"Watch your mouth, Salvatore! He is an original, a hybrid. You don't want to know what he is capable of." Y/N growled, stepping out from behind Klaus and facing the younger vampire herself.
"You're really worth each other." he spat and started walking away from them.
"And since you started talking about honesty, we're both on team Stelena!" she shouted after the man, smiling as she saw him tense with anger. She turned to the original, frowning as Klaus looked at her with a raised eyebrow and his own smug grin. "What?"
"Nothing. You saved me a few hours of dealing with this bunch of young vampires by scaring Damon off. Name your prize, love."
"I'll pretend you didn't just call me a bogeyman, and I'll say I want one thing from your great collection of antique jewelry."
"Just this?"
"Well, if you find me something really beautiful and shiny, I can call Katherine and tell her I'm not coming home tonight."
"Just tonight?" he teased with a smirk.
"We can negotiate it later."
"Good." he took her hand and kissed her forehead. "Let's get out of here. This party is dead anyway."
Wanna be yours Wanna be yours Wanna be yours Wanna be yours Wanna be yours Wanna be yours Wanna be yours
Klaus played with the ends of Y/N's hair as they lay in bed together. After a stressful week in which he and his siblings managed to escape Mikael's clutches, Petrova's unannounced visit was a pleasant surprise for him. But now that they both lay exhausted after... very satisfying activities, came the moment that Klaus hated the most.
Y/N was probably about to leave.
He hoped she would fall asleep in his arms, so he could steal a few more hours in her presence, but that didn't happen. She was lying partly on top of him, drawing patterns across his chest. Klaus buried his nose in her hair, enjoying her closeness while he still could.
"You're nothing like Mikael." she whispered, stopping the movements of the man who was now staring at her in shock.
"I beg your pardon?"
"I heard you arguing with Kol about it before… you know, you dagger him and put him in a coffin. I just want to make sure you know about it. You seemed so… pensive at first and a little bit sad. I thought it was because of this nonsense he said."
"What if it's true? If I'm really turning into him?" Y/N frowned, turning in his arms so that she was on her stomach and could look into his eyes as he continued to hold her.
"Well, he is not your real father, so I don't think you could inherit his psycho genes. Besides, if that were true, you'd kill me instead of fucking me so I could see the stars, so..." he chuckled, pulling her closer to him.
"You see the stars, huh?" he asked maliciously, with a smug smirk.
"Shut up. You know very well that you are extraordinary. I wouldn't come back to you if you weren't."
"And I wouldn't let you into that bed if you weren't just as tempting."
"I see what you're trying to do, but you really need to hear it, Nik. You're not a monster. You're just trying to keep your siblings safe. Maybe not in the best way, but you have good motives."
"You from all of the people should know that I'm not good. I'm pure evil, love. The monster parents tell their children about at night. I killed your family, Y/N... you shouldn't even be here."
"But I am. And I think we already talked about giving me orders or advice. I know what I am doing, Klaus. If I decide that you're worth my time, then you are. So shut up and let me finish." she kissed him, preventing him from trying to respond. Before Klaus demanded more of her, she pulled away from him, placing her index finger on his lips as he watched her in complete silence. "My parents were horrible, heartless people. And honestly? I'm glad they're dead. You are not a monster. You are Niklaus Mikaelson, a hybrid, loving brother who will do anything to protect your family from a father who abused you physically and mentally your whole childhood. You may not always make the right decisions, but none of us is perfect. And I regret some things in my life, but I will never regret meeting you. Not a single second have we spent together. Because I think you're someone worth knowing. Even if you don't agree with me."
Klaus stared blankly at her. It was the first time someone ever saw him for more than his murderous, dangerous side. His heart started to beat faster, and he prayed for all the gods that exist to prevent her from hearing it. Instead of letting himself take off his mask for the first time since he had become a vampire, he decided to cover up his real feelings, so that Y/N wouldn't know that his soft side for her wasn't only out of desire... but also something he couldn't admit to himself right then.
"Don't pity me." he growled, throwing her off him and walking over to the window.
"That's not a pity. You know I wouldn't tell it to you if I didn't think so." Klaus spun around furiously, trying his best to camouflage his fear with anger.
"And what else did you read from my personality? You're doing pretty well so far, considering we're just fucking in corners under the cover of night." Y/N stood up too, not hesitating to face the hybrid for a moment.
"This attempt to make me angry will do nothing. You try to push me away before I go too far, but it's too late. I know you, Klaus, and I know what you're most afraid of."
"And what is it?"
"Loneliness." Klaus froze in place, watching her with not even the slightest emotion on his face. "You don't want to be alone, which is why you gather so many people around you. Though you never let anyone get close enough to know your real self. But you know, you'll never get over that feeling if you don't let anyone in. Or if you keep locking your siblings in boxes or coercing others into obedience. It's... a beautiful, wonderful city, but how many people are really willing to follow you of their own free will? You may be king, but ruling vampires, werewolves, and witches with fear will accomplish nothing."
Klaus stood silently, watching her intently. Y/N shook her head in disappointment as she turned away from him and began to gather her belongings scattered around the room.
As she was about to put on her dress, Klaus ran over to her and gently grabbed her arm, turning her to face him. She raised an eyebrow questioningly.
"Stay." she snorted, shaking her head with a bitter laugh as she brushed his hand off her. But Klaus didn't give up. He cupped both of her cheeks, forcing her to look into his eyes. It was the first time he had looked at someone with such pure desperation. "Please."
Her defensive posture dropped. The dress fell from her hands as she grabbed his hand and pulled him back to the bed. Without a word, she clung to him again as they tried to fall asleep.
They both took a risk today by showing each other their other faces, which they had never shown to anyone else except their families. They saw the lost, struggling in their darkness, people who needed the closeness of each other.
They both let themselves sink into their own dreams, where they loved each other unconditionally. But then both of them were too scared, distrustful, and hurt by fate to fully trust the other one.
But this time, Y/N stayed with him until he woke up. And Klaus, for the first time in his 1000 years of life, felt hope.
I wanna be your vacuum cleaner Breathing in your dust I wanna be your Ford Cortina I will never rust
Y/N has never been more scared in her entire life. She ran as fast as she could to Mystic Falls High School, hoping Katherine had either won the duel with Elena or had come to her senses and fled as soon as she realized the younger vampire had the cure.
She had no plan, no emergency escape, and no secret weapon. She had nothing. But she knew she had to help Katherine, even if she had to turn human herself in the process of rescuing her sister. She was all Y/N had left in this world. And she knew well that Katerina would do the same for her. Even if people didn't believe in her.
She ran into one of the corridors, following the sounds of the fight.
Her heart was beating wildly as she pushed Elena against the far wall, glancing out of the corner of her eye at the unconscious brunette on the floor. She breathed a momentary sigh of relief when she saw that Elena was still holding a cure in her hand.
"It ends here. Katherine will recover soon. You can't beat us both."
"I got along quite well with Katherine. I doubt you'd be a stronger opponent."
"Then you're dumber than I thought."
Elena lunged at her, trying to break her neck, but Y/N dodged, scanning her surroundings for any weapons. But Gilbert didn't give her enough time to think. She kept attacking the older vampire, inflicting small, meaningless injuries on each other. Y/N had to think of something, and fast, before Elena somehow got the upper hand on her.
The younger Petrova stumbled as Elena pushed her against the opposite wall. She groaned as blood began to run down her hair and down her spine. As soon as Gilbert got closer to her, she swung, causing the brunette to fall next to her on the floor.
They struggled for a while until the younger vampire bit into her neck, startling her. Both immediately plunged their free hands into the other's chest, holding each other's hearts tightly.
From Elena's determined look, Y/N knew she wouldn't be happy with a tie. One or both of them will end up with their hearts ripped out. There was no other way.
"Let her go! Or your dear Damon will die with her!" Klaus' voice coming from behind her made her heart beat even faster in Elena's strong grip.
How the hell did he get here?! After that fight at his house and their goodbyes, he was supposed to be in New Orleans rebuilding his relationship with siblings and his kingdom, not in Mystic Falls saving my ass as usual.
"How do I know he'll survive if I let her go?"
"You have my word, Elena." Elijah came out from the other end of the corridor.
Seeing my sister's ex made me both happy and murderous at the same time. Although... maybe he still cared about her, since he'd come to his noble ass here to save her.
"Be careful, doppelgänger; I'm holding your heart too. Don't forget that." she reminded her, clutching Elena's heart tighter, and she moaned in pain.
"Y/N." Klaus' warning snarl got no reaction from her. She stared defiantly at the doppelgänger.
"I told you. It ends here, Elena. Nobody has to die. Just let it go." her gentle tone of voice weakened the vigilance of the brunette kneeling in front of her. Y/N took advantage of this and, at the speed of light, loosened the doppelgänger's grip on her heart and ripped her hand from her chest with a scream. She also let go of her heart and shoved the medicine down her throat, pushing her to the floor.
Klaus was at her side immediately, taking her into his arms and watching the doppelgänger unconscious from the fall. He breathed a sigh of relief as he felt his vampire heart beating. A second too late, and it could have ended very differently. He pulled the living vampire closer to him, trying to chase away the dark thoughts.
"Niklaus!" her raised voice brought him back to the world. His brother stood beside them, holding the unconscious Katherine in his hands, watching him closely. He turned his gaze to the tired woman in his own arms. "Please get us out of here."
Klaus nodded, getting up with her and holding Y/N in a bridal style, close to his chest, so she could rest her head on him. Both originals left the school and went to their cars. Each of them finally took his girl home.
I just wanna be yours (Wanna be yours) I just wanna be yours (Wanna be yours) I just wanna be yours (Wanna be yours)
"Penny for your toughts." Klaus crept up behind her as she stared blankly at the streets of New Orleans. Involuntarily, he remembered how they had met here 100 years ago... and the night that made him realize how he really felt about her—the night she had stayed with him for the whole night and day for the first time.
She looked much better after resting in their mansion. Klaus could get used to having her so close to him, along with his entire family.
"I'm offended that you value them at a penny. But if you must know, I was thinking about you."
"Me? What a pleasure. And what you had in your smart brain, love?" he asked, glad he wasn't the only one of the two who thought of the other when they were apart.
"I've lost count of the amount of times you've been there for me and everyone you care about. But today you save someone who doesn't mean a thing to you. You could just take me out of there and let Elena shove the cure down my sister's throat without telling Elijah that she is in danger. But you didn't. You of all people saved Katherine's life, along with mine. Why?" Klaus avoided Y/N's scrutinizing gaze, pretending to be very interested in seeing the town below him.
"Leave it Y/N. I just did it. I wasn't thinking then. In hindsight, I should have made sure she turned into a human myself, and kill her. I still can do it, so for her own good, don't put any ideas in my head."
"Klaus. Just answer it."
"I did."
"Niklaus." he turned to her, meeting her expectant gaze. Klaus swallowed. He had dreamed of this moment so many times, even in the very place where they stood… but could he overcome the fear of rejection? Being alone again?
"I don't know if you're ready for the truth, love."
"Try me. Maybe you'll be surprised." Klaus sighed, looking away from her. Were they both ready to cross that safe line they had set so many years ago? He did not know. But he figured he'd never find a better time…
"I saved Katherine because you wished it... Because what's important to you is important to me. What makes you laugh makes me want to keep it. What scares you I want to tear apart. You are the most important thing to me. I can't spend a single day, sleep, eat, or do anything without thinking about you deeply in my head. You own me. Body, mind, and soul. I've been yours since the day I met you. And I'll always wanna be only yours, even if you don't want me at all."
Klaus plucked up the courage to bring his gaze back to her face. She was expressionless. Totally poker. He felt a cold shiver run through his body, and the pain of rejection paralyzed him so much that he was unable to make any move. The hybrid cleared his throat, controlling the trembling in his voice and the coming tears.
"You can run away now. I won't chase you, Y/N."
Those words brought her out of her trance. However, Klaus kept his head down, not wanting to see the love of his life walk away from him.
If he hadn't, he would have known the love and emotion on her face.
Y/N walked over to him, shocking him to feel her gentle hands on his cheeks and stunning him as she pressed her lips to his in a tender, soft kiss.
They couldn't get away from each other. They clung to each other as if they were the only anchor holding them in this world, embracing and kissing so hard that neither of them could mistake this moment for a dream.
It was only the lack of air that forced them to move away from each other significantly, resting their foreheads against each other as they inhaled the familiar, calming scent of their second halves.
"I'm tired of running." Y/N whispered, planting kisses across his face, teasing him as she deliberately avoided his seeking lips. "And I never want you to let me go. Ever. You stuck out with me, my lord."
"As you do with me, my queen."
"Good." she smiled, drawing him into another of their many kisses as she led him to his bedroom.
She stayed with him that night. And the next, and the next one. And she never left his side again.
He was hers. She was his. They belong to each other.
And Klaus was in heaven.
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
"Careful!" hissed my boyfriend, Matt Donovan, from behind me. His voice was tight with stress, but I just rolled my eyes.
"I'm always careful!" I hissed back. He scoffed.
"That is the biggest lie I've ever heard."
"Yeah, yeah. You know, you're sounding a little hypocritical as someone who used to go toe to toe with vampires."
I shot a meaningful look back at him over my shoulder, and he tensed. He was leaned out over the balcony of our college apartment, watching as I shimmied along the edge to the next balcony. He kept glancing at the distance from me to the ground, white-knuckled on the balcony railing.
"Can you please focus on what you're doing?" he ground out, not even bothering to respond to my vampire comment. I sighed.
"Don't worry, Matt, I'm almost there."
I faced forward again, refocusing on the last stretch to my goal. To be totally fair to Matt, it definitely wouldn't be good if I fell. But it wasn't that far from one balcony to the other, and after making it out of Mystic Falls and living to tell the tale, there was no way a dumb stunt for victory in a college prank war was going to take me down.
Finally, I made it to the other balcony, carefully climbing over it and away from the edge. I took a quick second to carefully creep forward and glance in the window of the apartment to make sure no one was home, and Matt and I weren't gonna get caught. Once I knew the coast was clear, I returned to the railing and leaned over to grin at Matt.
"Mission accomplished."
"Thank god. Now are you ready to finish this prank war, once and for all?"
"Oh, you know I am. Just hurry up and toss me that cardboard cutout, I don't want to get caught out here."
Matt shook his head, but he was still smiling as he started passing over the first piece of our prank. We'd found a cardboard cutout of some actor and were going to tape it up in the window, so it looked like some shadowy figure was lurking on the apartment balcony. Matt passed over a few light strips, and I set up a nice, terrifying red light glow in the background for added effect.
A little much? Maybe. But this was supposed to be the final move in an all-out, knock-down drag-out prank war. We couldn't exactly go easy.
After I got the red lights set, I unscrewed the deck lightbulb just slightly, so it wouldn't come on when the light switch was flipped. With another assist from Matt, I dumped a bunch of whipped cream and shaving cream on the floor, so it would be gross and slippery whenever someone came out here.
"Be careful!" Matt called as I leaned on my tippy toes and set up the last part of our prank: a banner that would drop down when the door was opened, declaring us the forever winners of the prank war.
"I am!" I whispered back. I stepped back once I'd finished, taking just a second to admire my handiwork. Then I hustled back to the balcony railing and my boyfriend.
"You probably have whipped cream on your shoes, so make sure you don't slip."
"Come on Matt, I'm fine. Besides, I have you to catch me if things go wrong."
"Contrary to what you apparently believe, I don't have super speed."
"Don't need it," I said, holding out a hand for Matt to take as I reached him, swinging both legs over the railing and landing in front of him with a grin. He shook his head, but he was smiling as he wrapped his arms around me.
"You know, when you convinced me to leave for college, a lot of your pitch revolved around not fearing for each other's lives anymore."
"Which is why our stakes are now prank war-level, and not life and death! Come on, Matt, take the victory with me."
He shook his head, still grinning as I leaned up and kissed him. After a moment we pulled apart, the grin on Matt's face even wider than before.
"Man. Tyler would be so proud right now."
"Oh yeah. We've stepped up our game big time since high school."
We shared a smile, then Matt sighed.
"So. What should we do while we wait for our neighbors to get back?"
"Well, we don't want to get too distracted and miss their reactions... maybe a game night?"
"With two people?"
"Yeah, so there's no one else for you to blame the loss on when I smoke you at Mario Kart."
Matt's jaw dropped in fake outrage as he laughed.
"Alright, you did it now. You're going down."
"Do your worst, Donovan," I teased, even as I moved closer and Matt wrapped an arm around my shoulders. The trash talk continued as we headed inside together, leaving the balcony door open so we wouldn't miss a second of the reactions from our neighbors.
Matt and I snacked and laughed and played a few ruthless rounds of Mario Kart, until we ended up with a two-two tie. Then, just my luck, I was ahead in the tiebreaker when we heard noise from the hallway that almost always meant our neighbors were home.
"Ope, that sounds like them," said Matt, not missing the opportunity to pause the game. "Guess we'll have to pick this back up later, so we don't miss their reactions."
I sighed dramatically. "Fine. But don't even thing about turning off that console, Donovan. I want to pick this race back up exactly where we left it."
"Yeah, yeah."
Matt waved me off, but I still watched carefully to make sure he didn't sabotage anything as we headed for our balcony. He gave me a grin and shook his head, but I just shrugged. He knew me well enough by now to know my competitiveness was no joke, as evidenced by the lengths I'd just gone to for this prank war.
Silently, Matt and I snuck out onto the balcony, just waiting for the reactions from our neighbors. We heard shouting a moment later, probably when they caught sight of the cardboard cutout in the window, and I had to hide behind Matt as I wrestled down a laugh.
The next few moments were a blur of shouting and panic as our neighbors worked up their courage to come out on the balcony, only to start shouting again. When we heard the sound of our banner dropping down and the shouts of fear changed to shouts of outrage, Matt and I stuck our heads around the corner, both of us grinning.
"Surprise!" I yelled. Every single person on the other balcony flipped me off, but Matt and I just laughed. "Consider that our checkmate move, ratcheted up a little after you threw my underwear all over the lawn."
For a brief moment, it seemed like our prank war might continue to escalate despite Matt and I declaring ourselves the winners. But as we talked over the balconies and the adrenaline faded, we came to an official truce and ended all pranking activity for this round.
"So, now that we've officially made peace, do you guys want to come over and play Mario Kart?" asked Matt, leaning casually against the railing. I turned around and smacked him in the chest.
"Not before we finish our championship round, Donovan!"
"We're in!" called our neighbors, immediately heading inside so they could come over to our place. I glared at Matt.
"We're finishing that race before they get here."
"I don't think we're gonna have time-"
"Only if you're slow in and out of the video game! Come on!"
I tugged Matt after me, laughing as we went. I managed to get him on the couch with a controller in hand, but our neighbors knocked on our door before I could unpause, and Matt took the opportunity to ex out of the match with a shit eating grin as he went to get the door. I threw a pillow at him, but I found myself smiling all the same. We'd just been crowned the winners of our prank war, after all, and any time I got to laugh and enjoy myself with Matt, like a normal couple, was a victory as far as I was concerned.
ONESHOT ALERT
Fandom: The Vampire Diaries
Ship: Klaus x Damon
Soft Spot
Damon had been in a relationship with Klaus for a while now, but there was one thing he still wasn't used to; Klaus' obsessive need to touch him in some way.
It starts with an innocent hand holding his, then an arm sliding around his waist and suddenly Damon has found himself in an unrelenting hug. Klaus will not let go until he is satisfied.
Damon sometimes falls into these traps.
-
Klaus was exhausted, collapsed onto the couch and dying inside at the sheer stupidity of certain individuals. Damon thought he'd be thoughtful and drape his favorite blanket over the poor Hybrid, but it immediately backfired.
Klaus waited before striking, like a true predator. Damon leaned down to carefully wrap the blanket around Klaus. In his moment of vulnerablity, Klaus grabbed the vampire around the waist and pulled him onto his chest. Klaus wrapped his leg around Damon’s, effectively trapping him. Damon squirmed before immediately voicing his displeasure.
"No, not this again. I have work to do. Please..."
"Please what?"
Please let me go, I beg you."
"As much as I love to hear you beg, I adore this a little bit more."
"Seriously?"
"Yes, besides lately you haven't been sleeping enough so I'm not letting go until you’ve been asleep for at least a few hours."
Damon sighed and lay his head down against Klaus' chest, listening to his heartbeat. He did end up falling asleep. It was the best sleep he'd ever gotten and he hated that. Klaus' plan actually worked. Damn him.
-
Damon stood in the kitchen, staring into the open fridge. He had a very important decision to make. He was hungry but he couldn’t decide between O Negative and B Positive. He only knew what Caroline would pick.
Then he felt hands on his hips. One of them moved to wrap around his waist. Then he felt a body leaning against his back. A head found its way to his neck, where it settled. The hand fled from his hip, instead finding itself in his hair, running its fingers through his raven locks.
Damon sank his head back at the sensation. Klaus knew exactly how much he loved it. He knew exactly what he was doing.
"Hello, love."
Klaus muttered the greeting before latching onto Damon’s neck, covering the pale skin in hickeys and love-bites. Damon moaned quietly as his eyes shut.
"You can't keep doing this. I have to do stuff, you know?"
"No you don't, besides we both know you enjoy it."
"Fine."
Klaus carefully picked Damon up, before putting him down on the sofa and watching as Damon stretched out his arms for a hug. Klaus grinned before flopping down onto Damon.
"I'm still hungry."
"Too bad, because you're stuck now. Might as well enjoy it while it lasts. I know I will."
-
Damon was trying to shop in peace but his plans were immediately obliterated by Klaus, who just had to go with.
Damon strutted through the mall at an impressive pace, Klaus following behind, looking at the people around them. They all seemed so normal, it was unsettling. He caught up to Damon just in time to see a man across the room, gazing at Damon with hungry eyes and a smirk on his face.
Klaus wrapped an arm around Damon, walking in sync with Damon’s steps. Damon rolled his eyes at Klaus' possessiveness.
"I know I'm yours, you don't have to remind me."
"I'm not trying to remind you."
"Oh so you're just trying to prove it to someone who is completely irrelevant to us and our relationship."
"That's one way to put it."
"Ok, around Elena I understand but a random human in a Chicago shopping mall, seriously?"
"Leave me be, it's in my nature. Wolves are extremely territorial."
"Fine, but I want you to know you're being stupid."
-
Damon was panicking. Elena had just kissed him and he was absolutely disgusted. While dating Stefan, Elena had kissed him. He pushed her away as fast as he could and stood stunned before getting a few words out.
"Elena, no! You are dating my brother!"
"But Damon, I thought you wanted this."
"No, when I said I was dating someone, I was serious."
"What? Who?"
"It doesn't matter. What matters is that he and I are in a happy relationship, that you do not get to intrude on."
"He?? You're gay?"
"No, I'm pansexual, now out, out of my room."
"Wait Damon-"
Then a new voice could be heard.
"Come on, you heard the man."
Damon turned around to face the door with a small smile on his face. His suspicions were confirmed as he saw a certain hybrid's frame in the doorway.
"Hey, Klaus, I'm sorry, but I really didn't mean to."
Elena’s reaction was less tame.
"Klaus?! What do you want?"
Klaus walked briskly towards Damon before slinging an arm over his shoulders.
"Damon, Damon get away from him."
"Elena, calm down, he came because I asked him to."
"You invited him here, after he tried to kill me?"
"Yes, because the world doesn't revolve around you. I can hang out with my boyfriend when and wherever I want."
At this point Klaus had Damon wrapped in a side hug, while still glaring at Elena. Klaus kissed Damon’s cheek in confirmation.
Elena huffed before storming out of the room. Klaus broke the following silence quite viciously.
"I was hoping she'd cry, but unfortunately, no such luck."
Damon gave a grin at that.
Dating Klaus Mikaelson
Type: Headcannon
Request: yes, however I feel I’ve taken a darker route with some of it. Hints of dark! klaus and yandere! Klaus. But I hope you like it :)
Summary: What dating Klaus Mikaelson would be like
Tumblr media
Dating Klaus is going to be difficult to navigate for anyone. However you can plan on that being a lot more difficult depending on who you are in mystic falls.
Innocent bystander
Klaus: Normal
If you aren’t involved in any of the supernatural sides of mystic falls, then things will run a lot smoother.
It makes it easier for Klaus to introduce himself, without you knowing anything about him.
Maybe he sees you at the grill, hanging out with friends, or working there.
He’s cool and calm, extremely flirty. Expecting to sweep you off your feet immediately.
It’s happened many times before for many other women.
Yet with you it doesn’t work.
You’ve seen men like him before, flirty and kind until they’ve gotten what they want.
As attractive as he might be, you won’t let him in that easy. You can almost see through his flirting to the man hiding underneath.
It takes several more attempts before he realises being honest and vulnerable with you is the only way to get your attention.
Maybe draws you on a napkin. One from his table at the grill. It’s a rough sketch, but undeniably you.
He hands it to you at the grill, a genuine smile on his face as he explain how beautiful he finds you and that he’d like to take you out.
From there it’s dates, dates and more dates. To grand dates going to museums and restaurants, to smaller ones having a picnic in the park or midnight stroll somewhere.
You’re happy to go anywhere with him as long as he’s genuine.
You see a side to Klaus he often tries to hide. With you he can’t do that. It’s like you repel any persona he tries to put on.
And he’s thankful for it.
Eventually he’ll tell you he’s a hybrid. Although he may scale down the fact he the original hybrid and his family is the most deadly to ever exist.
Life with Klaus is sweet. He keeps you protected with various talismans and charms. He makes sure you take vervain every day.
He most likely keeps you a secret, away from supernatural activities. Only his inner most circle know about you. That being restricted to his family only.
Supernatural reader
Klaus : protective
Being supernatural yourself, you do of course know of klaus Mikaelson. You know how other tremble before his name, how the aura of death follows him and how carnage is left in his wake.
You know to avoid him to summarise.
Maybe you’re a vampire, in which case great.
Maybe you’re a werewolf, in which case even better.
Vampire
You go with friends to a party, not realising this is the Mikaelson family ball, which you definitely weren’t invited to.
You try to keep a low profile , staying away from said family.
That becomes increasingly hard when the hybrid himself asks for a dance.
Despite your senses, you accept. Dancing the night away. The two of you talk over your interests and history . Sharing the best and worst stories from your vampirism.
Towards the end of the night he takes you outside. He shows you the stars and points out some constellations.
He asks you out there and then.
If you accept, you’ve made him a happy hybrid.
If you decline, things may get interesting.
While he’s not above compelling you to stay with him, he’ll try to resist.
Instead compelling your friends to change your opinion of him.
Next time he asks he’ll be sure you won’t say no.
Werewolf
This is a situation Klaus can exploit.
Maybe he finds you while hunting werewolves with Stefan.
He sees the fear in your eyes and his ego inflates. While he enjoys it, part of him wants you to look past that.
You watch as he mercilessly attempts to hybridise your pack mates, failing with everyone.
For some reason he keeps you. Takes you with him back to mystic falls.
When he’s sure he can make his hybrids work.
He turns you.
Being sired to him makes it hard to resist his advances.
He likes to keep you close at every opportunity.
Sometimes going as far to keep you on his lap during each and every meeting. Be it with friends, family or enemies.
Earning you the nickname ‘The hybrids Lapdog’
Witch
Maybe he comes across your coven while needing witchy services.
His eyes are drawn to you in an instant and he singled you out.
He chooses you to be his own personal spell caster
Being part of his every scheme brings the two of you close.
You become his confidant so to speak. Giving him advice on his problems.
In exchange for your services he houses, clothes and feeds you. Taking care of your every need.
Being in such close proximity leads you to seeing a side to the hybrid not many do.
It leads him to seeing you as more than disposable.
It leads him to asking you out.
And who are you to deny him?
Inner circle
Klaus: obsessive
You’ve always been apart of the Scooby gang. Maybe your someone’s sibling or just a friend.
There isn’t anything supernatural about you. You have just always been close with the group.
But you can be sure you know how awful klaus has been to your friends.
Terrorising teenagers for fun it seems
You don’t agree with anything he’s done, but your friends make you biased.
You meet klaus for the first time after being kidnapped by him.
His plan is to take you and compel you, turning you into a double agent.
When he realises your on vervain, he has no choice but to wait it out. He has his minions watch you while you’re locked in his manor.
To say you put up a fight would be an understatement.
By the second day your voice is hoarse from screaming. It gets to a point where his siblings are complaining about all the noise.
He has no choice but to interact with you more. Telling you how much he sees your defiance as an inconvenience.
It only enrages you more. Making you scream bloody murder that it’s you that’s been inconvenienced.
He finds it funny. How such a weak being can have so much fire.
Over the next few days he makes it his job to bring you food and water, clothes, whatever you need.
He wants to interact with you as much as possible rather than leaving it to his minions.
Before sending you back he of course compels you.
Over the next couple of weeks he meets you in secret, making you give away valuable information regarding your group.
He takes you out on dates, getting to know you. Without compulsion.
Despite what he’s done he’s been nothing but kind to you so you know
When the time comes he takes you on a final date to the grill. Your friends see you together and put two and two together.
He foils their current plan with knowledge only the inside circle knows.
They accuse you of working with Klaus. To which you deny of course.
Everyone turns their backs on you, which drives you into klaus’ arms.
He has successfully killed two bird with one stone and you don’t even realise.
When he asks you to go to New Orleans with him, you have no reason to say no.
He’s isolated you from your friend and stopped anyone getting in his way of courting you.
You never find out or course. That would ruin the paradise he’s created for the both of you.
Kai Parker x male reader — them being a absolute power couple ? 🥹
yes yes please let me write for tvd
masterlist
Tumblr media
Mystic Falls is a wonderful place to ruin a few lives. Not yours, of course. You’ve done your time of suffering, taken your turn for hating who you are and what you’ve become. The only thing you want to do now is get your revenge and have fun while doing it.
Now that is something Mystic Falls can do indeed. It’s an old town, full of older vampires who like nothing more than sitting back and watching the young ones take the fall for all the things they couldn’t do. The Salvatores tend to bother you, what with their time-honored tradition of letting their actions be decided by something as fallible as a conscience, but you’ve long since outgrown that.
Consciences don’t get to exist in a world like this, that’s something Stefan Salvatore will never understand. You knew that from the first day you met him. Any vampire worth his salt would never try the small woodland animal method of getting blood if they could do anything else. If he wanted to pretend he was a good person, he could kill criminals and whatnot. It would at least let him maintain his hero’s ego.
You understand why he wants to pretend he’s better than he is, though. It is wonderfully tantalizing to let yourself believe that you’re so much better than any of the other bloodsucking monsters around you. You spent enough years catering to guilt, that pathetic voice in the back of your head, but you’re done with that now.
No, you could never agree with Stefan for long. Damon had caught your interest for a while longer– there, at least, was someone who could mangle and maim with the best of them, but even the black sheep of the vampire family softened up over time. That’s what love does, you suppose, especially when you fall in love with someone as self-sacrificial as Elena Gilbert.
Damon was fun, though, especially at the start. You arrived in Mystic Falls a few months before Damon, which gave you more than enough time to get to know him before he started slipping. While Stefan and Elena were running themselves ragged trying to contain Damon before he went on another killing spree, you were out drinking people dry with him every other night.
It was good, that beginning. You’ve been a vampire for decades, more than enough time to accept your place in a never ending life, so you’re perfectly content to sit back and relax as the Gilbert-Salvatore circle continually gets themselves into trouble. If you’re ever bored, you can always count on one of them showing up at your door to beg for help.
They try not to, of course. Every time you have to save the day, they swear over and over that it’ll never happen again, that this is only a last resort, a bloody and dangerous Hail Mary they’ll never touch in a thousand years. These ends of days seem to happen at least every few months, though, so you keep in touch.
You still deliberate over an exact label to place on your relationship with the Salvatores, Elena, Bonnie, Caroline, and the rest. You’re not friends, not really, not when they’re evidently so horrified by your lack of inhibitions regarding murder (hey, if it passes the time…) but they’ve saved your life at least half as often as you save them, so that counts for something. When they’re willing to ignore a few crimes here and there, the lot of you have a good time when you’re out saving the day.
The problems come about when it comes to motive. The Mystic Falls crew have good hearts, even if they (read: Damon) like to pretend otherwise most of the time. Although they’ve all had a bad spell at least once in their lives, they try to follow the rules if they can help it.
You, though? You’ve lived enough lives to give up on such bothersome tactics. So what if you get bored every now and then, go out to some town in the middle of nowhere and drain a few bodies worth of blood? So long as they live, they’ll be fine, and even if you lose one or two out of excitement, it’s not like they’ll be missed. You only ever attack the criminals, the lowlives, the assholes who hurt others. Call that justice, call it what you will. It’s worked for you for decades, and it’ll go on working until pretty much forever.
Now that you think about it, there’s definitely at least one thing that separates the Mystic Falls friends from ever fully trusting you, and that would have to do with your boyfriend. See, you’ve already spoken on love, and how little you wanted it. Being a vampire tends to put such an idea on hold. Sure, you’ll flirt when you feel like it, but every relationship is underscored by the lingering knowledge that it won’t last forever, because you will.
What’s worth the trouble of changing your whole outlook on life for someone who’ll be gone in what feels like the blink of an eye? You like this existence of yours far too much to lose it over someone like a human.
It should have come as no surprise, then, that were you to fall in love with anybody, that lucky person would be someone like you. Still, you don’t think anyone expected you to get with Kai Parker of all people.
Certainly not you. Not at first, at least. You were minding your own business when Bonnie knocked frantically on your door, begging for help in taking down Kai. You were the only one who knew how he thought, she said. Not even Damon was that dramatic or crazed. You thanked her for her kindness, then set out to kill Kai. Easy as that.
You didn’t kill Kai, though. He didn’t need to die. Bonnie specified that he shouldn’t be a threat at the end of all this, so you stopped when he wasn’t. Sure, you were definitely supposed to kill him, but by the time you got close enough to have that opportunity, you were enjoying yourself too much to commit the murder. You expressed your regret over what should have been a satisfying kill, and instead of getting weirded out, Kai just nodded and said he felt the same way.
Bonnie would have lost her mind had you just allowed Kai to wander Mystic Falls free, so you offered Kai a different option:  namely, the chance to wander the rest of the country on a murder/mayhem spree and come back in a few months once all the hubbub over his arrival died down. He said it sounded like a good plan to him, so the two of you set off.
Important note for vampires:  if you’re going to find yourself a road trip partner, make sure you pick one who’s just as down with murder as you are. You made that mistake once before. That whole circle in Mystic Falls had to drive over to a down a few hours away to track someone down. You’d volunteered to take Matt Donovan. Talk about a buzzkill– every time you so much as snapped your fangs at somebody, he looked like he was going to burst a blood vessel.
Kai’s much more fun than that, though. Although he is rather prone to complaining about how much popular music has gone downhill since the nineties, Kai’s running commentary on anything and everything he sees makes for excellent entertainment. Before you know it, you’re chuckling under your breath at his one-liners, then laughing wholeheartedly at some of the better ones.
There are plenty of nights when you think he might be your best friend, and then, as the weeks turn into months and neither of you seem to want to leave the road, when you think he might be more. Kai is the only person who understands the way your mind works, why you’ve given up on treating the world like good actions are ever rewarded with anything but more pain. He doesn’t force you to start loving the world again, he just makes you want to keep being in it.
That’s worth more than you expected. You didn’t realize how jilted you’d grown until you had a standard to compare your attitude against. Kai doesn’t hate the world, he laughs at it. It’s better than screaming. You learn to laugh too. You learn a lot.
Kai teaches you one final lesson, however, and that is what it is like to love. You haven’t felt something like this, something as strong as this, in quite a long time. You almost forgot that an emotion could hit you this hard, but it does. Even Kai, who has skillfully trained himself out of feeling anything, starts second-guessing his words in an effort to make you laugh as much as possible. You can hear his heart rate jumping, the beats skipping over themselves every time you’re around.
It takes the two of you a while to recognize what you’re feeling, and believe in it enough to finally vocalize it, but once you do, it’s as if the entire world becomes that much better. At long last, you’ve got someone by your side who’d kill for you, both for life-saving necessity and the thrill of it. At last, you have someone who doesn’t try to change you. Kai has the mind of a monster, you have the body of one. It all works out perfectly.
You still laugh when you think about the reaction you got when you and Kai rolled back up to Mystic Falls after your extended road trip. You’re half sure that the rest thought you two were dead, but no; you’re back and as bad as ever, if not worse. The two of you had barely moved in before the Salvatores, Bonnie, Elena, and Caroline took it upon themselves to visit and attempt to rectify whatever was going on.
Damon took one look at the two of you in your shared house and looked as if he wanted to stab a stake through his heart to save himself any future trouble. “Why is it that the two most insane men I’ve ever met had to fall in love? I feel like you’re going to slaughter all of us for a fun honeymoon.”
“That’s a good idea,” Kai begins, lingering over the TV remote somewhere behind you.
Stefan and Caroline turn in unison to glare at him. “Don’t even,” the younger Salvatore begins.
Kai just chuckles. “Hey, if you don’t want me to think about fun stuff, don’t bring it up.”
Bonnie groans. “I don’t understand how you can stay with him, Y/N. You know what he did.”
“You know what I’ve done,” you remark casually, “tell me, is it really such a surprise?”
Stefan pinches the bridge of his nose, trying unsuccessfully to ward off an oncoming headache. “This is ridiculous. We should have just killed Kai when we had the chance. Hell, we still have a chance.”
You stand up straighter, daring them to try. “If you so much as touch a hair on his head, I will slaughter all of you with a fury unlike anything you have ever known. You thought you were scared to be around me when I was fighting on your side? Trust me, I’ll stop pulling my punches if you cross us. The streets will run with your blood.”
The group swallows uneasily, doing their best to seem as if they aren’t unnerved by that threat.
Kai, meanwhile, just grins proudly. “I love that. Total power couple moment, am I right?”
Damon grimaces. “I need a drink. Heading back to our place, if anyone wants a shot, come around.”
Caroline swats him on the shoulder. “Hey, you can’t give up that fast.”
Damon just rolls his eyes. “Come on, we all knew the intervention wasn’t going to work. Might as well cut our losses so we don’t have to see them making heart eyes at each other anymore. It’s unsettling, frankly, given how willing they are to murder us if we get in the way.”
The rest seem to accept that, so they drift out in twos and threes. Kai watches them go, then shrugs. “If that was the welcome wagon, I think that went pretty well. That wasn’t everyone who knows about vampires though, right? Say, I think I really want to meet that Donovan guy.”
You shudder. “No, you don’t. Let’s save that fun for a rainy day.”
Kai grins proudly and walks over to where you stand. “That sounds good to me. We’ve got all the time in the world.”
So you do. That, at least, is a very good sign.
