Oh omg I just had such a fucked up idea for Ascended Astarion
Tw: infanticide and pregnancy. Gn but Tav is able to become pregnant.
Ok so since Ascended Astarion doesn’t make Tav break things off with Halsin imagine Consort Tav finds out soon after the events of the game that they’re pregnant.
However Astarion can immediately tell it’s not his child but Halsin’s much to his anger and disgust.
But instead of forcing Tav to terminate the pregnancy he allows them to carry the baby to term while also gently warning them that a spawn and a mortal’s child isn’t very likely to live.
He even allows them to tell Halsin at the reunion party.
However when Halsin tries to come and be involved Astarion makes sure he’s kept far away from the Crimson Palace. Simply telling Tav, “you know how fickle Halsin can be, I’m sure he’s simply too busy with his hoard of orphans. But don’t worry little love, I’ll always take care of you.”
He tolerates his consort reeking of Halsin’s stench for 9 months, pretending to be loving and supportive while they carry another man’s child.
As soon as the infant is born, Astarion’s mood changes as his mask slips off. Tav panics and cries to be given their baby, suddenly realizing Astarion intentions.
He has the infant killed right there in the room as Tav is held down screaming and fighting.
He uses his power over them to alter the memory of their perfectly health baby being killed in front of them so they believe that it was still born.
With Tav’s memory successfully changed they simply cry and ask to hold their baby just one time.
“I’m so sorry my love” Astarion holds them and comforts them as the now dead infant is given to them to hold.
He allows them to grieve the little bastard, once again playing the loving master they adore so much.
“It’s not your fault my love, the infant was simply too weak. But not to worry, I’ll give you a new child. A strong child, with the blood of the ascendant. As many children as my dear consort desires.”

TW: Abuse, drugs, emetophobia and (Implied) infanticide (it’s gonna end happily I swear)
Sorry this is much more darker than usual and it should NOT be this dark for a film abt singing Trolls with rainbow hair. But I have dark thoughts and project them onto my kins and comfort characters.
So anyways, as far as I know, Floyd has no story abt what was going on while he was gone (if he does, the novelization never said it).
So… Floyd is known to love rock music (as shown on the BroZone website) so I had a thought that maybe he found some rock trolls outside of Volcano Rock City and he met one that was a goddamn S N A K E.
He hurt him badly, did unspeakable things and Floyd managed to run away to safety… until he got kidnapped by Velvet and Veneer.
So the story with these: After learning abt different genres becoming friends, Floyd was calm… until a certain rock troll shows up. The troll harasses Branch even when he says no to him and safe to say Floyd is triggered and he knocks that fucker on his ass. JD and Branch pull him away and ask what was up bc Floyd is NEVER violent unless there was a good reason. And Floyd explains it all. They are HORRIFIED by the stuff he tells them and they thirst for blood.
And they may or may not have erased the horrible troll’s entire existence on behalf of Floyd with help from Barb. Once the deed is done Barb claims the troll never existed… ROCK TROLLS DON’T LET SHIT SLIDE.
What happens in the future is up to you. But just know Floyd is happier.

Durgetash Baby (Headcanon/Bullet Fic)
The Dark Urge sees Enver Gortash with his child in his arms. Notes: Dark. TW infanticide (Non-descriptive but could be triggering for some). Nsfw. Slight dub-con but ultimately consensual. Imagined with a fem Durge in mind.
I can absolutely see Gortash in an arranged marriage situation which Durge would of course have very complicated feelings about. ‎‎‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤ
But Gortash is not one to shrug off appearances. He fulfills his husbandly duties and his wife provides him with an heir. ㅤ
Throughout the pregnancy, Durge is very distant. The violent urges and jealousy (which they tell themselves is merely due to their Bhaalspawn breeding instinct) are an extreme threat to their alliance with Gortash. ㅤ
When the child is finally born, Durge and Gortash fall back into their old routine for a time. Patriar children are rarely around their parents anyway, Durge does not anticipate it to be an issue. ㅤ
But one night, Durge slips into Gortash’s chambers (through the window, as they usually would), and sees him with the child in his arms. A tiny babe. And Gortash speaks to it like it is the whole world, like he would give it the whole world. Durge slips back out completely unnoticed. ㅤ
The next thing Durge can remember, it is night again and they are standing in the nursery of Gortash’s estate, their hands covered in blood. The Urge begins to recede from their mind, and they faintly hear a woman’s scream receding down the hall. ㅤ
By the time Gortash arrives in the doorway, their mind is clear. He is measured, but there is something in his eyes that Durge has not seen before. Boots clatter down the hall, but they are waved away by Gortash as he steps inside and closes the door. ㅤ
Once they are alone, Gortash lunges forward. Admittedly, it catches Durge by surprise, and Gortash gets much further than he should in his attack because of it. They slam into the ground together, a flurry of fists. It is their first real, physical fight against each other. ㅤ
All movement ceases when Durge's knife glints in the dim light. They have managed to get Gortash beneath them, knife pressing into his throat. He is covered in streaks of blood - his blood, Durge's blood, and the blood of his child. ㅤ
Durge's head is pounding as they begin to roll their hips against Gortash's body, knife still firmly at his throat. His voice is venomous as he chokes, "What are you--" ㅤ
"Mine." Durge's voice is sharp and dangerous as they press their hips down harder against Gortash, "You are mine, Gortash." ㅤ
They throw their knife to the side and replace it with their hand around Gortash's throat, the blood of his child on their hands now mixing with his own from his wound. Anger still burns in his eyes, but he does not move. Durge knows this - knows him - knows he is assessing, trying to understand. ㅤ
They kiss him then, but he remains stiff against them. It is only when their other hand begins to slide down his body does he begin to stir. ㅤ
"You are mine, Gortash," Durge repeats, a whisper against Gortash's lips, "And your children will be mine." ㅤ
He pauses for just a moment longer before meeting them in a suddenly charged kiss. Durge is unsurprised to feel him harden quickly at their words. ㅤ
He takes them there, on the floor of the nursery. He brutally fucks his seed into them, a demand for a child to replace the one he lost. ㅤ
The Dark Urge is satisfied, but they are never truly forgiven.

Thinking about how even if Bhaal had willed my Durge to bare children pre-tadpole there is no way they would've survived more than 27 days and 18 hours in her care. Even redeemed this bitch wanted nothing more than to remove Oliver's head from his tiny shoulders the moment he started mouthing off. Her own kids would have no chance

If Renesmee was a psychopath?
... Okay, Anon.
Likely she dies in the trial/before that point.
Remember that Renesmee's life is dangling from a thread called "I am a sentient being and not a bloodthirsty monster". She's in a house with a telepath, an empath, and later meets with a telepath who judges her fate.
Skirting around what a psychopath even is, since the internet likes that word too much, likely Jasper would conclude Renesmee's an immortal child after all based on her emotions and--
He does what must be done.
The family never forgives him for it, nor does he forgive himself, but it was something they all acknowledged was entirely possible and perhaps even likely.

Thoughts on Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 (spoilers ahead):
It’s interesting to see the developers taking a more overt and darker tone with this chapter; I guess they’ve gotten tired of the sanitized and infantile image their game has.
I'm pretty sure Ollie isn't a human survivor, but a toy with a childish voicebox. Given DogDay's voice sounds like a radio despite him being right in front of the player, and the CatNap tape, it seems that the voiceboxes are all but outright confirmed to be a mechanical part, not biological.
Plus, it wouldn't make sense for him to be a human survivor, because it's been ten years since the Hour of Joy in-universe, so unless he somehow managed to hide and survive from infancy, he'd be at least a teenager by now.
Of course, he could also be the Prototype playing 4D chess with Poppy, but who's to say?
Contrary to SuperHorrorBro's theory, I don't think the Prototype is an "amalgamation of souls," but instead a mimic. He reflects the scientists words right back at him, like playing back a recording, which if he did that by "absorbing souls" of those he integrated into his own body, it wouldn't make sense given the scientist was still alive when he did that.
A lot of people seem to be more than a little confused with the Miss Delight thing, so to clarify: Given the number of Miss Delights that are shown in the Hour of Joy tape, it appears that the school in the facility was mainly taught via Miss Delight bigger bodies toys, not human teachers. This was probably to avoid getting the whistle blown by human teachers, given all the red flags being flown there.
While I'm pretty sure the kids died in the Hour of Joy along with the adults, that is kind of muddled some by the Miss Delight tape (the one where she talks about the one exchange with CatNap, after she lost her mind). Maybe CatNap was saying the kids were in a different place from the employees in a metaphorical sense.
Personally, I think CatNap willingly gave his life to the Prototype, but I do see the basis for the idea that he was more or less tricked instead. He didn't talk much throughout the whole chapter, so it's hard to really know for certain.
The impressions of the Prototype's character are a bit mixed. On one hand, he saved Theodore’s life at the cost of his own freedom made a vested effort to stop the living toy production, and questioned Dr. Sawyer’s morals, implying some sense of morals himself. On the other hand, no distinction was made between the innocent and guilty during the Hour of Joy, he made seemingly no effort to free the toys from the factory despite resources growing scarce, and it’s strongly implied that the children were also killed in the Hour. So, it’s kind of murky at the moment.
I went through the TV Tropes page, and unless I missed something I don’t see the connection between Claire Harper and Miss Delight. I would like to think Claire quit or called in sick by the time the Hour rolled around.

Will the West's political leaders talk about these dead babies?
Exclusive video and images obtained by Al Jazeera this morning show bodies piled up inside the Shadia Abu Ghazala School in the al-Faluja area, west of the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.
At least two people at the school said a number of people including women, children and babies were killed execution-style by Israeli forces while sheltering inside the school.
“The Israeli soldiers came in and opened fire on them,” a woman at the scene said. “They took all men, then entered classrooms and opened fire on a woman and all the children with her.”
The woman said there were newborn children among them. “The Israeli soldiers executed those innocent families at point blank,” she added.

HGSN 23-2
Chapter (Japanese)
(Please hit the green thumbs up at the end of the chapter to show support)
Rough translation by me
P1
Hikaru: (A change...)
Yoshiki: ...It's my fault
Hikaru: No, it's not...Stop saying things like that
Hikaru: (So that's why I started to feel pain)
Hikaru: (and lost to the impurity at the family restaurant and got my head chopped off, huh?)
P2
Hikaru: (And on top of all that, somehow there's this strange feeling...)
Hikaru: Oh! That guy! The sword that sunglasses guy cut me with...
Hikaru: That sword wasn't normal...
Hikaru: That guy must have attacked me knowing that
Hikaru: There's something suspicious about it.
Rie: ...It's clear that he must be someone well-informed about that sort of thing
Yoshiki: (I'm so stupid! I didn't notice anything...)
P3
Yoshiki: If you get attacked by him again...
Hikaru: Then I'll just run away!! Even if he cuts my head off again, it'll stick back on!
Hikaru: But maybe my head'll come off easier now, haha!
Hikaru: Wahahahahaha
P4
Rie: As I thought, this child is dangerous
Rie: But...it's no good. I've also gotten attached...
--
(sfx: crowd chatter)
(sfx: crowd chatter)
P5
Asako: I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE OKAY!!!
Yuuki: Maki was surprisingly the one that worried the most, cute huh?
Maki: Hey!
Yuuki: You said "It's so boring when Hikaru's not around" like ten times
Maki: I did not!
Maki: By the way, what've you been writing all this time?
(text:
Nounuki-sama
→Grants wishes in exchange for human heads?)
P6
(sfx: snap shut)
Yoshiki: No...it's nothing
Maki: Are you looking up "Unuki-san"?
Yoshiki: Huh? What...did you just...?
Maki: Hehe, I'll tell you all about it
Maki: A looooong time ago, around these parts
Maki: It was used as a secret codeword
P7
Maki: Since ancient times, this area for some reason has suffered from lots of illnesses, crop failures, and accidents
Maki: Despite being a place like that, the reason there was still a fair amount of settlement was 'cause mercury could be mined here.
Maki: Even so, year after year, the amount that was extracted dwindled...
Maki:...and in the struggle to put food on the table, there was often the need to abort a pregnancy
Maki: In order to do that, they made a medicine using the mercury here
Maki: An abortion pill local to this land
Maki: If I remember correctly, the medicine was called "Uronuki" medicine
Maki: Apparently it refers to "infant-culling" medicine
P8
Maki: Since it was a medicine made with mercury taken from the mountain, they started to call using it to end a pregnancy as "returning it to 'Unuki-san' of the mountain"
Maki: That's what it's code for... Ummmm
Maki: Eventually, it started to be worshipped as the god of the mountain...
Maki: And after that, strangely the illnesses and stuff died down...
Yoshiki: Mercury... that's the origin of the name of the forbidden mountain, Nisayama*?
Hikaru: ...
* 丹砂山 - red sand (cinnabar) mountain
==
Next chapter: 2023/01/02
Twitter Extra (link):
Yoshiki: Is the line on your neck okay?
Hikaru: Yeah, there shouldn't be anything physically wrong
Hikaru: 'cause it's a ghost scar!
Yoshiki: Oh...that's a relief
Hikaru: Oh, it came off
Yoshiki: Uwaaaaaaah!!
(sfx: wakes up)

EDIT 2024/01/18:
Fixed Translation Error: It's what you'd call "haunted" → There's something suspicious about it.

I've been fascinated with the Aztec god Xolotl recently.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Xolotl (pronunced Sho-lo-t followed by an L like sound that doesn't exist in the English language) was a Mesoamerican god associated with many things, including fire, lightning, disease, deformity, twins, the Mesoamerican ball game, death, dogs, the planet Venus as the evening star, twilight, shapeshifting, and monsters. Xolotl was the twin and sometimes companion of his more famous brother Quetzalcoatl. Xolotl was thought to guide the dead in their journey through the underworld, and to guide the sun through the underworld each night. Xolotl is usually depicted as either a dog anthro, a man with a dog head, or a dwarf skeletal jester. Xolotl is usually depicted missing eyes. Xolotl seems to have been feared by the Aztecs and especially hated by the Spanish, but I have a more favorable view.
Some of the most prominent myths about Xolotl involve the story of the fifth sun, or how the current world was made from the previous, destroyed one.
The first myth involves the recreation of humanity. The tales differ as to whether Quetzalcoatl was responsible, Xolotl was responsible, or if it was a collaborative effort. The humans of the fourth world were destroyed, and humanity had to be brought back. To this end Xolotl and/or Quetzalcoatl traveled to the Aztec underworld, Mictlan and met with its king, Mictlantecutli. The god(s) asked to gather the bones of the previous humans so they could be created anew. Mictlantecutli. Mictlantecutli gives them tests but later decides against letting them gather the bones. Xolotl and/or Quetzalcoatl fall into pit, breaking the bones in the process which is why people have different heights. The bones are later resurrected. The versions of this tale differ as to which god went to Mictlan and whether they did tests for Mictlantecutli or simply stole the bones.
In the second myth, the gods are sacrificing themselves in a fire to create a fifth sun for humanity because the previous one went out. They choose Nanahuatzin, a poor and humble god with syphilis and some relation to Xolotl to become the moon; and Tecciztecatl to become the sun because he is wealthy and strong. However, Tecciztecatl is unable to throw himself in the fire when the time comes, so Nanahuatzin becomes the sun instead. Tecciztecatl is sacrificed after and becomes the moon (and also the man on the moon), but has a rabbit thrown at his face which is one explanation for the rabbit people sometimes see.
Later, Xolotl is the last to be sacrificed to the new sun. In some versions this is because he was the executioner for the previous gods. However, in some tales he refuses to sacrifice himself. Xolotl begs and cries until his eyes literally fall out but this does nothing. Xolotl transforms to escape Ehecatl who has been executing other gods to make the sun move. Xolotl at first transforms into a corn plant with two stalks, then an Agave americana, and finally an Axolotl amphibian. But he was still caught in the end.
What I find most interesting about Xolotl is his relation to disability. Since deformities are among Xolotl's best known domains, he could be considered a god of disabilities as well. Xolotl is also a god of monsters, and it's worth mentioning that the Nahua word "Xolo" which his name is derived from and means monster, is used for both mythological monsters and those with physical abnormalities, much like the Latin word "Monstrum". (I think in literature analysis the themes of monsters as outcasts could be explored more) In many, perhaps even most historical (and unfortunately even modern) societies the attitude towards those with disabilities has been very negative. In the Aztec world twins were considered unnatural, and sometimes one of them would be murdered shortly after birth. Wikipedia mentions an speculation by Eduard Seler that resonates with me: that Xolotl represents the murdered twin who dwells in the underworld while Quetzalcoatl is the living one who is cherished in the world of light.
Another connection with Xolotl and disability is that he was sometimes depicted as a jester with dwarfism. It's relevant the jesters around the world were often disabled. European court jesters were known for having the freedom to criticize and mock royalty, and were sometimes selected from the intellectually disabled because they could not be held responsible for what they said. Additionally, the Spanish during the colonization of the Aztecs sent some Aztec jesters to Spain, who were described as humpbacks.
This is what I find most interesting about Xolotl, that he is a reflection or shadow of society. Historically Xolotl was often considered a sinister god, but when society is itself sinister who is to be believed? My view of Xolotl is more favorable. The god of the disabled is feared because the disabled are hated. Xolotl is the outcast, who is hated and feared yet has done no wrong. Xolotl is the murdered twin, who looks upon the world of light and life, from a place of darkness, the world he was not given, never had the right to enjoy. He is the god who is looked upon with disgust due to his role in hardship, yet is the only one who stays with you through that hardship the entire time. Xolotl is the disabled child, who is called a child of shame and hidden away in some institution to be forgotten by their more privileged relatives. Xolotl is viewed with contempt, but his domains are just as necessary to the universe's function as any of the more handsome gods. The janitor, who is viewed with contempt and disgust yet whose works are vital for society.
The "evil twin" Xolotl, misunderstood twin and hound of Quetzalcoatl who lives in the world's shadow, watching the world of life and guarding the light of the sun through the underworld.

Jennifer Kagan wipes away a single tear as she composes herself once again to discuss her daughter's legacy.
Her four-year-old, Keira Kagan, was found dead next to her father's body at the base of a cliff in a Milton, Ont., conservation area in February 2020. A provincial committee found it was "extremely consistent" with past cases of murder-suicide involving a father and a child.
Kagan, who had been in a bitter custody battle with Keira's violent father for years, was determined to have the tragedy result in changes to the way the judicial system deals with cases of intimate partner violence. She and Keira's stepfather, Philip Viater, spent years pushing lawmakers to drive change.
Those efforts have now resulted in Keira's name being enshrined in new federal and provincial legislation designed to help other children avoid her fate. [...]

"A large European study documented that more than half of the babies survived delivery in post-viability induced abortions.[56] If a baby is born alive, the abortionist may complete the abortion by performing active or passive infanticide.[57] Many abortionists perform feticide via intracardiac or intra-amniotic injections to avoid this dreaded complication."

There’s a pretty big criminal case going on the UK
31 yr old Nurse Lucy Letby has been found guilty of murdering 7 babies (causing catastrophic injuries on at least one other) her modus operandi seems to have been injecting air into their blood streams causing them excruciating pain in their final moments.
I cannot for the life of me fathom how any person could harm a child let alone a baby under their care??
She’s a sick, twisted individual who should never be allowed back into society ever again
On top of that she’s a coward bc she’s refused to appear in court at all.

Do you believe there’s a way to break the compulsion of imprinting? If it happened, how horrified do you think real Jacob would be of post imprint Jacob? Do you think he’d still love Bella, or would he be like , “nah, I’m over that shit?”
Can the Imprint be Broken?
Nope.
By all historical accounts, you're stuck.
We don't have too many imprint examples but what we do see is not good. Sam had a strong commitment to Leah, had already put her through hell, and was in a serious relationship. He imprints not just on another woman, but Leah's cousin and best friend who is like a sister to her.
This is the worst possible outcome, he still ends up with Emily.
Quil imprints on a baby, something horrifying to all, and the solution they come up with is he gets to babysit. He can't stop it.
Jacob imprints not only on a baby, but the baby he was about to murder two seconds before, the thing that destroyed Bella Swan, the child of Edward Cullen, and a monster in human skin. He ends up imprinting, makes friends with the Cullens (who he previously loathed), makes up with Bella who he felt personally betrayed by, and throws everything away for Renesmee. He can't stop it.
If there was a hint of hope then I imagine the tribe would have been much less forgiving of Renesmee's existence (as they'd hope Jacob could snap out of it), of Quil's imprint, or even of Sam's.
Would Jacob Be Horrified at Himself?
Yes.
Jacob was terrified of imprinting not for this reason but because he knew it'd mean losing everything he was and everything he cared about. Bella Swan would be overwritten and everything he'd felt about her, everything he'd done for her, would be gone and meaningless.
Jacob wouldn't be Jacob anymore.
What happens to Jacob is much worse than that.
He imprints on a toddler, the thing that destroyed Bella Swan, Edward and Bella's love child that is proof that he was never good enough for her, etc.
This is his hell on earth.
Would He Still Love Bella?
No.
Jacob felt very tormented by Bella at the end there. He cared for her deeply, but had to betray everything he believed in for just a hint of saving her life. When she turned, as he promised, I imagine he'd leave.
His feelings for her would always be very strong and conflicted, but I imagine he'd continued to feel very betrayed by her.
As it is, in this world, he'd probably murdered her baby already which would make things... complicated.

I sit in the garden at midnight
It is cool and dark and lonely
I begin to dream
The moon-shard descends from the sky
And nestles itself against my throat
As my mother looks down at me from the darkness
Her mane sweeps upwards like clouds
Cold shadows run down her back
Her eyes are hot stars
Balanced on the frozen voids of her cheekbones
My pulse beats against the curve of the moon-shard
Fragile and fleeting
I cannot speak
But behind my teeth is the cry of my brothers and sisters
Whose hot blood run down the crevasses of centuries
For the crime of being born corrupted
Grief pulses in my veins, and rage gathers in my stomach
Don't I deserve to live?
Don't I deserve to live?
Don't I deserve to live?
Don't I deserve to live?
-- "No", Iekh eBatu, circa XXXX
[Translator's notes: The author was born with White Spotting, a genetic condition similar to Waardenburg Syndrome in humans. Due to paski cultural conventions, she was considered khakaara ("trash") by her parents. Infanticide was the traditional fate of afflicted infants, but a recent ban in XXXX allowed Iekh eBatu to survive to adulthood. Further information on the paski cultural practices of infanticide, ableism, and the political and social changes that led to the ban, can be found in the Appendixes section at the back of this book.
"Moon-shard", as noted in earlier chapters, is a common euphemism for the slashing claw.
"Brothers and sisters" (line 13) is a crude translation from the Raatasingh world taeilel, which generally means "those alike me in suffering". Taeilel is used almost exclusively in poetry, and is never used in everyday conversation. A brief etymology of the ta- prefix can be found in the Discussion section at the back of this book.
This was one of Iekh eBatu's earliest published poems. A much more refined poem from later in her life can be found in Chapter 17.]
