C!tommy being so willing to let his life end after the discs were burned, broke me. This kid had lost all of his attachments throughout everything but he always had the discs to keep him going even when he didn’t physically have them. He lost his brother figure, his happiness, his motivation to go on, and now the only thing that kept him throughout all of this, the discs. He only has c!tubbo and cannot afford to live without him. He is willing to let himself be disintegrated, exploded, killed, just so tubbo and the of the SMP could LIVE to truely LIVE without fear of c!Dream or ANYONE else having god like powers.

That moment where c!tommy and c!tubbo sat on the bench and ctommy says, “There is no music left to play.” Made me break down. That would be his last sunset, his final day before his death day. He knew this and still carried on with the plans for the next day because he has nothing left in this world.

So, I'm watching educational videos on nukes and radiation for fun, and aside from greed and fear of others just as volatile as ourselves, the only thing more dangerous in our short history of using radioactive materials... Is curiosity.

We never stop to think of the consequences of our search for knowledge or, in the case of the Goiania incident, the consequences of taking a blue glowing powder like substance out of a shiney lead can that they took out of an abandoned machine from an abandoned cancer research building.

Cesium 137 glows a ghostly blue color in the dark, and without proper knowledge of radioactive materials is easily mistaken for some pretty rock or dust because other than the glow it looks entirely harmless.

A debated theory in biology is that of an evolutionary trap, the concept that something evolved to help a species survive can rapidly become their downfall in a swiftly changing environment. Something like sea turtles following the light of the moon at night after hatching to become sea turtles getting lost headed towards a much brighter street lamp, or beetles seeing a discarded beer bottle the same color as them and trying to mate with it. For humans, it's curiosity. We were curious enough to invent and survive, and now we're curious enough to kill and destroy even unintentionally. Just as a sea turtle never stops to wonder if that street lamp will lead it to its death, we never stop to wonder how what we create may lead to hundreds of deaths within the span of a single year.

Bikini atol was fear, therac 25 was greed, and Goiania was curiosity. Really makes you wonder how much longer we can make it before one or more of these traits plummets the world into complete darkness before our species is expected to die out naturally.

Change is inevitable and the world is growing darker, but eventually it just might glow like cesium 137 and we might just come back from it all better than ever.

This isn't depression or meant to bring anyone down, btw, I'm just noticing a pattern in human ingenuity and genuinely wondering how much longer our species will last when shit like the bikini atol and Chernobyl happen and people still claim nukes are fake simultaneously, like we cannot possibly be the leading species on this planet and still be this stupid, we created fusion bombs and can't use them because they're too powerful, we created fission bombs and turned them into power plants! We have solid evidence for our nuclear experiments! People have died and yet they still claim it's not real! They laugh in the face of our very nature to create and destroy and I can't stand it!

This rant is brought on by stupidity I heard at work yesterday, from old people with wrinkles and starch white hair, who's parents very well could have been involved in the creation of the nukes they claim aren't real for all I know.

so I'm recording nuclear era films like duck and cover for a video

The whole idea of "You can live through this!" is just stupid

Not only is it stupid, it gives me MORE anxiety cuz i don't wanna see what the world's like after the blast

But whenever I feel worried about that sort of thing, I always remember something my mum told me when North Korea was starting to scare America. I was terrified of nuclear war. I had only ever seen the Fallout games and maybe heard about Hiroshima a few times. So my idea of what a real atomic bombing would look like was totally incorrect. I cried to my mum about it for a while, and then she told me this:

"If a nuclear bomb went off here, you wouldn't even notice it. You would die without feeling a thing."

And somehow, what she said has been my reassurance for the past five years. Any time I feel that fear, I just remind myself that I really wouldn't feel anything if it happened.

Aren't you worried the invasion of Ukraine will turn into the third world war ?

Hi ♥ Honestly, no or at least by how things look right now. I’m not saying something can’t happen that could possibly escalate the conflict and things can go south quickly, but they always could escalate, we’re just more sensitive to it now.

Right now there are way too many fear-mongering articles that just want clicks. Anytime anyone mentions the n-word, people start panicking and doom scrolling. News outlets take things out of context and according to the news stations it looks like things escalate.

Yet, they de-escalated. No one wants WW3, America is really not bad in this situation and they act rationally. Russian government, as terrible as they are.. they aren’t movie villains who want mass destruction. They want their money, yachts and they know very well they would lose if they were to fight WW3. That’s why they’re threatening with the n-word, because that’s the only thing they have right now and they use it as a deterrent. Ironically, I believe they’re even more scared of them than western countries, but there’s not much else they can do to avoid the direct conflict with NATO. Basically it’s their rhetorics and escalating things to de-escalate them. I’m not saying this to excuse them, I’m saying it because the picture the media is painting is just fear-inducing and nerve-wrecking, but the Russian government isn't completely irrational as we’re sometimes told. Things aren’t as bad for western countries and we shouldn’t panic. We should focus on how to help Ukraine more instead (and to help them win without giving up any part of land), because right now we’re safe unless you live in Ukraine. And I’m saying this as someone who lives in the former eastern bloc and if the war were to break out, I would be affected directly, I’m not removed from the conflict and we meet refugees everywhere.

So I’m not worried and you shouldn’t be worried too, it’s going to be fine, I promise.
