A Little Boost Goes A Long Way!
Dr. Mycol: “Hi, folks! As we say goodbye to the holiday season, I just want to remind you all to get your Covid-19 booster shots.”
Tumblr media
Dr. Mycol: “Just take it from my friend here!”
Tumblr media
Vaccine Bottle: “That’s right! Vaccines are safe and effective, so make sure you’re protecting yourself and your family today!”
Tumblr media
Dr. Mycol: “You’re not really the vaccine, though, right? What did you say your name was? Jim?”
Vaccine Bottle: “Jim, yeah, how’s it goin’? Nah, I’m just a spokesbottle.”
Dr. Mycol: “Ah, okay. How is that, anyway? It is a pretty good gig? Does it pay well?”
Vaccine Bottle: “Oh yeah, it’s great. Good benefits, time off with the wife and kids, it’s pretty sweet.”
Tumblr media
Dr. Mycol: “And there you have it, folks. Stay safe in the new year!”

I'm going to talk about my relatives getting covid and put it under a readmore and a bunch of warning tags.
Also why the heck do they keep changing how the readmore works? Now I have to use Ctrl + Shift + K? Just freaking put it back in the menu. Damn.
Things are weird right now. Covid is passing through my extended family. Within my circle of relatives, I have an aunt who feels almost like a third parent. In fact, she probably does to all my cousins - she even kind of raised my mom. She's the matriarch of the family, and her kids are like siblings to me. Point is, I'm really close with that family. And recently my cousin caught covid at work, and despite his best efforts, it spread through the household infecting everyone else. While everyone else seems to feel better now - knock on wood - my aunt just today tested positive. She's got a terrible headache and fever.
This has me kind of...discombobulated. We've been talking a lot, and I'm really worried about her. She doesn't deserve this; nobody does. I mean, my god, my cousin is living with the knowledge that he brought covid back to his parents when he's trying to take care of them. But to blame the person carrying the virus is propaganda, designed to shift the blame away from the governments and corporations that failed to contain the virus or fight it properly, or even vaccinate for it properly.
And why are people getting it at work, anyway? He's already back at work now. My aunt has been going to work despite being exposed to the virus. Again, it's not their fault though - they have to go to work! There are no protections, no insurance or paid leave specifically for covid - most workplaces simply do not give a crap about the lives of their workers! In fact, that's probably where covid is spreading the most - at work.
This is why my cousin's family, who lives out of state, went through covid twice and suffered so much. She has severe lung damage now. Her baby son caught it twice. She and her husband had to take time off of work that they couldn't afford. It's the financial fallout. Then my aunt steps in to help them pay their bills, even though she's not doing great herself. It was so difficult hearing my cousin go through it. She stayed in the hospital for days with pneumonia before they got her stabilized.
I mean we've...we've dealt with stuff. Even my other relatives got it, and my uncle ended up with lung damage too. My family got it, I got it. Controlled it with Tylenol and Motrin, took albuterol for a week.
It just...I know that we've been very blessed, but at the same time every time it happens I end up waiting every day to hear news to make sure someone is still okay. Because we've actually lost a close friend to covid. They literally died overnight. And I'm terrified of that happening again every time covid spreads to a new member of my family. I mean, now everyone in my family had it or has it, but clearly they can get it again, and...it's so hard. It's so hard.
Covid isn't over, and it's not comparable to the seasonal flu yet. The truth is, we're just living in a reality where most people are going to be shepherded by the system into getting a dangerous virus that could easily ruin their finances, their respiratory health, or worse, because it's more convenient than sincerely and forcefully confronting our dysfunctional government or bloated corporations.

Instead of coal, Santa gave the bad kids COVID and the next super wave of the pandemic started. He had to go on the news and reveal himself to apologize as the good kids also got crazy sick.

Begging you guys to look at what's happening in China
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you have a minute to spare, please consider reading and sharing this post.
[image ID: various photos about the #A4 revolution that is happening in China.
1st photo: a piece of white A4 paper with the following text on it: "Protests have been breaking out in many cities and university campuses across China thsi weekend in response to the highrise fire tragedy in Urumqi. Protesters called for end of zero-Covid policy and even an end to the Xi Jinping regime. The sheer number of particiipating cities and universities in this wave of protest have not been seen since 1989, after the June 4th Tiananmen Square Massacre where protesting students and citizens were murdered by the Chinese army. Freedom of expression and protest are luxuries in China. Even holding a piece of white paper in public can get you into trouble with the police. We call on Chinese nationals from every corner of the world to join in the #A4revolution and simply post a picture of an A4 blank paper on social media to speak the unspeakable and support the brave fellow Chinese citizens who are taking it to the streets in China." In the bottom right hand corner are the hashtags #白纸革命 and #A4 revolution.
2nd photo: protesters holding up pieces of white, blank A4 paper. The third photo is has protesters holding up paper on the left side, and a row of police standing guard right across from them. The fourth photo is of a piece of blank A4 paper
3rd photo: protesters holding up paper on the left side, and a row of police standing guard right across from them.

I don't wanna guilt trip people and say things like "if you don't reblog this you don't care". but not a lot of people in the world know about what is happening in China right now so I'd really appreciate it if you'd share it with your family, friends, and peers.
The images above are reposted from the instagram account @citizensdailycn. If you speak Chinese and are not up to date regarding the situation please check them out at https://www.instagram.com/citizensdailycn/. They are also on twitter under the same username: https://twitter.com/CitizensDailyCN. If you speak English, you can check out their English counterpart, @whatsup_beijing: https://www.instagram.com/whatsup_beijing. Actual footage of the protests can be found on the Instagram account @northern_square: https://www.instagram.com/northern_square. If you want to distribute posters, here are some designs protestors have made: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vgjmsp8dgjnav93/AAD04p5ljQZ1hi9YSz4TAfmHa/%E6%9C%89hashtag%E6%B5%B7%E6%8A%A5?dl=0&subfolder_nav_tracking=1, https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vgjmsp8dgjnav93/AACsR7d5ICrG7hlYPErJSIuEa/%E6%97%A0hashtag%E6%B5%B7%E6%8A%A5?dl=0&subfolder_nav_tracking=1, https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ql2CyIZfWy36nFRn0ahu83oCxh5zRXAj
This is the first time I've posted anything like this, and it is 2:49 AM in the morning so my post might not be perfect. If anyone has any resources or additions please feel free to add them in the reblogs! Also if you think the image IDs need improvement, or that I need more trigger/content warning tags please let me know by sending an ask or a message. Thank you.

The pandemic has truly shown that a big majority of self proclaimed leftists are performative as fuck.
The minute their supposed morals require them to do something that is so MILDLY inconvenient to the them (i.e. wear a mask), it all suddenly goes out the window. This is why us disabled people get left out of the conversation when it comes to leftism.
The beginning of the pandemic, as awful as it was, there was at least some glimmer of hope in regards to disabled rights. For once I saw people I know posting about protecting our lives and the importance of staying home and masking. I was getting tons of support opening up about being disabled and chronically ill.
The thing is though, that this was because they had no other choice! They had to stay home, they had to mask, because it was a mandate! So it was easy for them to think to themselves “wow, I’m so brilliant, I’m doing so much for disabled people”.
When we finally got to go back in person in university, I was so glad to see most people masking. Imagine how gullible I felt the day I walked into the lab when they had removed the mandate the night before, to see not a single person in a mask. Just for some context which makes this even worse; this was a biochemistry/ immunology lab. Our professors were quite literally the ones developing the vaccines in Ireland. Not even they could be bothered to mask.
For the first while my friends would always mask around me because I asked them to. Then it became less and less. They’d pull the ole “omg I’m so sorry I left it at home” shit. Then eventually they stopped giving excuses and just expected me to be ok with them endangering me.
I remember everyone posted about getting vaccinated the first time around. Now as each booster comes out you hear less and less about it, less people getting boosted.
And the pièce de résistance!! Leftist circles… this is the most disheartening. At every leftist gathering/ protest I’ve been to, no one is masking. There’s always this one awkward performative moment where they say some shit about “being mindful of the space you’re occupying”, and they direct people to a box of masks they brought… I’ve never seen one fucker take one. Self proclaimed socialists and communists who “protect the rights of minorities”, don’t give a fuck about disabled people.
They’ll talk the talk, but their actions are so weak. Can’t even wear a piece of fucking fabric on their faces to protect us.

Covid isn't over! We're now going into an endemic! It will continue to evolve and make new variants, each more deadly than the last. I know people will say, "It will only kill the already disabled and elderly." Thanks for condemning my life and thousands of others to death because you wanted to go back to "normal life" and didn't do the bare minimum of getting vaccinated!

i kind of hate that wearing a mask at all times makes me look "paranoid" or i'm a nag when i wish others wore masks as well.
it's also so dystopian when i'm one of the few or the only person wearing a mask in public. i'm the "crazy" one, not other ppl who are mostly ignorant to the horrible effects covid and other diseases can have.
