There was an instagram post that was about saddest stranger things deaths and it had billy on it. I commented on it saying that billy's death wasn't sad because he was bad person. People flooded my replies talking about how he sacrificed himself to save eleven or that he was abused by his dad and that it justified his actions. Someone even said that he was a good person deep down.
Yall, good people don't attack defenseless black children and abuse their younger sisters. His abuse doesn't justify his racism and incredibly violent acts.
I genuinely cannot understand how people continue to defend Billy (I can actually, white/cishet characters can get away with anything while poc/queer characters are judged extremely harshly)
Sorry for the rant, just needed to talk about my frustration with certain parts of the stranger things fandom

just a reminder from someone who grew up in a very redneck area, like people riding to walmart on horses wearing a cowboy hat and spurs redneck area: racism and licking cop boots isn’t redneck. rednecks don’t like cops. i’ve watched people in cowboy boots hotwire cars to get away from cops and burn the confederate flag. i’ve watched people who were just fighting with pocket knives in a diner parking lot band together to get away from the cops. i’ve watched ranch guys punch people for a racist comment. racists and coplovers aren’t rednecks, they’re bigots.

Please please PLEASE call your Senator and your Representatives about gun control. I’m working at a congressman’s office this summer and we make sure that every complaint gets written down. Make your voice heard.
The Robb Elementary School shooting is just the latest atrocity of many, and eerily similar to the Sandy Hook shooting nearly a decade ago. These problems are not getting better, they are getting worse. If you didn’t act right away after the shooting in Buffalo, NY, please don’t continue to ignore this serious issue that our country faces.

Rest in peace to victims of white supremacy. It’s all unfair and horrible. Gratuitous and hainous violence perpetrated through ignorance in the name of white fragility (i.e. Replacement theory). To think that replacement theory is at once a point of entry into white supremacy and the motivation behind a shooting… means that theres not extreme here… its just white supremacy. It doesnt matter the scale, it is all violence against POC, especially Black and Brown people. People who have had to, or whose family, had to move to America or Europe often as a direct result of imperialist violence (wars in the Middle East, slavery, colonialism, etc). White supremacy is also the veil of racism that fell upon Black Ukrainians trying to flee meanwhile countries magically open their borders for white Ukrainian immigrants.
Racially motivated my ass. White supremacy is what it is.

Why was the adult man arrested for shooting a black kid? Because he was impersonating a police officer
(Just to be clear the joke about impersonating a police officer was suppose to come across as saying police commit racial violence and nothing else. If it came across as promoting or normalizing racial violence I apologize in advance)
Alice: No, I think it's pretty clear what you meant there, if only because it's bloody happened so many bloody times. . .doesn't stop the joke from being depressing, but that's not YOUR fault.

hhhhh white people (especially those with a white savior complex) love bringing up traumatic history for BIPoC or any marginalized ethnic group to try have a “woke” conversation with little to no regard for how triggering that shit is for the people whose trauma that is it’s just “oh gosh that’s so awful it’s like an evil dystopia” but it’s like… really and happened/STILL happening??
This is about the wh*te teacher for my Shakespeare class and how he just casually assigns articles about how colonizing Europeans saw indigenous people as barbaric and savage, and residential schools and so much else bc we’re reading The Tempest and he thought “oh what a perfect opportunity to talk about racial trauma as a fun class discussion!”

Danver’s specific brand of racism is so intrenched in love it’s fascinating. Her daughter is precious to her and her daughter is Indigenous and in this town, an Indigenous woman is not viewed as a precious thing. They are abused and raped and murdered and therefore, being white is the ‘better’ choice. She is actively whitewashing her daughter, not only because she’s afraid of what she doesn’t understand and because of typical coloniser mentality, but because she doesn’t want to lose her. Danvers can’t distance Indigenous identity from white violence and it’s killing what she loves.

Seriously though, I think it’s about time we all stop pussyfooting around and ACTUALLY start acknowledging the racism against black people in the Supernatural fandom. Both in the show AND in fanfiction.
Black characters in Supernatural were already treated like dog shit. Jake had an entire round of bullets unloaded into him and his dead body, Missouri was brought back after years only to be brutally murdered in the same episode, Raphael was burned to a crisp, Gordon was beheaded with fucking WIRE, etc. etc.
And in fanfic the Black characters are either plain forgotten about or made into racist stereotypes often bestowed upon black people. For example, Uriel and Gordon are often portrayed as bullies or bad guys, aggressive people who serve as a means for everyone’s favorite pair of white boys to “protect each other”. And Missouri…I ain’t sure if it’s just me, but Missouri often comes across as the mammy stereotype. The “comforting older black woman”.
Not to mention (and I’ve already covered this) Black/African culture is HIGHLY misrepresented in fic compared to Christianity/Catholicism. Vodou and Hoodoo are often used synonymously, you got white people practicing it despite the fact you have to be initiated or born into it, and again, it’s often portrayed as evil.
@cassierobinsons made a really good post earlier about the Winchester’s themselves, y’all should really check it out.

I think what hbomberguy missed out on his video was the way James Somerton also dismissed ace people's oppression by claiming that they didn't 'go through conversion therapy' or apparently 'suffered as much as gay men'.
So here's a video I want to share by the Ace Couple going into depth about the whole thing and how James reacted when called out... spoilers, he didn't react well. I just hope by James' mistakes he and other people can learn something and grow.

"Who did this to you?" For UT Grillby, please?
Happy ending this time! I won't say that all of the angst ones will have happy endings, so lucky times lol.
Grillby was very happy to be above ground. It was, of course, very different than what he had while he was underground but he had his place of business which was all he really wanted.
At least, that's what he thought for such a long time.
Until he met Y/n. He realized how nice it was to have a partner again, someone that would hold him, and love him. They really couldn't hold him as much as he would wish for them to, he would need to cool down and slow his magic quite a bit for them to be even remotely able to hold him, which could be dangerous for him but he didn't really care much.
He had his datemate, and they were happy.
Of course there were some people that were mean. "Humans and monsters shouldn't be together!" They would shout, screaming and leaving bad reviews on his place.
He tried his best to ignore it, and delete those comments after writing down and telling people what really happened. The reason Grillby didn't care, was because he still had Sans who was his best customer, and he met a lot of new nice humans!
They even added singing. Isn't that fun?
Today he left the business in the care of his datemate, asking them to handle everything while he went to the store to collect things. He had been wishing to make new types of fries! They're curly...
He liked curly things.
And his day, he believed, was going well. He gave his datemate a soft kiss against their cheek before he left, making sure to be careful! He didn't want to burn them, or anything. They seemed to find it silly, telling him to knock it off. They were giggling.
He really liked that sound.
Hearing how happy they got over small things like that? It made him feel so, weirdly, good about himself.
It was something that he didn't do that often. Grillby never thought that he was the most interesting monster, all he had was... that he was a fire monster. He fought in the war, and he was old, but that didn't mean he was very powerful or anything!
Normally he didn't fight, though. He could be very strong if he wanted to, just he didn't want to. Undyne used to try to get him to fight with her, funnily enough... He would always lift his hand, silently saying no thank you, and send her on her way with a on the house milkshake.
As he walked back to his business, he heard shouting and screaming, causing him to look around, a little confused "Hm?" he tilts his head to the side, then shakes his head and looks forward.
Humans were weird...
Finally, he got back, and he drops the bags all over the floor his eyes wide behind his glasses, staring at his building. The place that he got just a little while after coming above ground, was full of flames.
The wood crackling and falling, and his datemate was nowhere to be seen. "Y/n!" his voice was ripped from his throat, running into the building. He knew that the fire department would most likely be here soon, to put out the flames. Would they blame him? Would they say that he started the flames? He knew that he was a fire monster but...
He ignored those thoughts for now.
He needed to find his datemate.
Running through the building, he could hear the things falling around him. He needed to find them, then get out of here quickly. If they're... they're here, then they're going to die. They're just a human!
Finally, he saw them laid out on the ground, coughing with their shirt over their mouth. He runs over, and scoops them up in his arms hearing them whimper at the pain. He was most likely hurting them himself... he hated the idea of that but he needed to get them out.
He runs out of the building, having to dodge out of the way of falling wood and big parts of flames, he did get hit once which knocked his glasses off but he didn't care. He didn't need his glasses.
He needed Y/n.
When he got out of the building, the fire department was there trying to put out the flames, and he sets Y/n down on the grass. "Who did this to you?" He asked, panicking. His voice was quiet. It felt sore from screaming earlier.
They didn't answer. They didn't look like they were breathing. Worry, sadness, and, worst of all, anger started to fill his body. Who would have set fire to his place? Was it... was it some human that hated monsters? He knew that he kicked some of them out of his place of business but he was allowed to do that!
They just burn the place down!?
One of the firemen ran over to get his datemate, putting a breathing mask over their mouth and cops came to question him. He answered the best that he could, flexing his fingers.
Luckily! The people who burned down his business were found because they were bragging about it, Y/n was okay just got some burns that needed to be fixed, and he got the money needed to repair his building and people made gofundme's, which he used the extra money for, to buy a ring! He asked Y/n to marry him.
And they lived happily ever after!
