Buddie 618 meta
Since this could have been the show finale, not just this season’s, I hope you allow me to do a small overview of the ep as a whole with this in mind.
Tumblr media
I’m gonna be honest, I want to send ABC a bouquet of flowers, because if this would have been the show’s last ep, it would have been an incredibly disappointing one. Not that it didn’t have merit. 911 has always been about the importance of the good that we do - for ourselves, for our loved ones and for strangers. That’s why the significance of this ep’s emergency was actually great. We got to see the 118 saving themselves, each other and be saved by a complete stranger, who wouldn’t have been there if it weren’t for the 118 saving him four seasons earlier. My issue with it is that it would have been better IMO to spread out this emergency over two eps, really give it room to resonate emotionally, in much the same way that Buck’s lightning strike did. That would have also left more airtime for the team’s personal lives to get closure.
Tumblr media
When looking at the personal resolution to the 118’s stories, I did like the return to Henren’s adoption via foster care storyline, it needed closure and I’m so happy this is the one it got. I have talked in more than one fandom about the importance of showing how same sex couples ACTUALLY go about becoming parents, so I think this is extra significant. I can’t wait to see this not just being a wink at the end of a show finale, but an actually developed storyline in s7. I also think “Here’s to more chaos and more love” is my fave line in this ep and a perfect summary of the best of 911. I also loved Bathena getting to go on their honeymoon, getting to live carefree for a moment. They absolutely deserve this, and it felt even better thanks to being a callback moment. I also enjoyed seeing Madney seal the details of their wedding. I have loved and enjoyed them since Maddie called Chim cute in 206, they deserve all the happiness and joy, and to me, having to see her twice this season bracing herself for the possibility of losing Buck and / or Chim (in 611 and now) made it even more meaningful to see Madney happy by the end of the ep. Again, I can’t wait to see the actual wedding in s7. It’s gonna melt all of our hearts. Still, all of these resolutions felt a bit rushed and I believe they could have had more of an impact if they were more than blink and you miss it moments during the final montage.
Tumblr media
But if those felt underdeveloped, that’s nothing in comparison with Buck and Eddie’s personal lives’ resolutions. Was 911 really going to leave them with the “endgame” of women who literally only showed up as Love Interests in the last couple of eps of the show? If I weren’t a part of fandom, as a casual viewer, I would sincerely not have even remembered Marisol from her emergency, so I would have been confused by her and Eddie’s conversation. In fact, I found it funny that when Eddie wants to text her, it’s presented as a disruption to Bobby’s talk, just like Buck’s call with Kameron. I also thought it was wild that we discover Marisol and Eddie exchanged numbers, because that most certainly wasn’t even hinted at during 617. We clearly saw him walking away, they exchanged a last look, and that was it. Eddie and Marisol are so underdeveloped, we don’t even know how they happened! Did Marisol rush after Eddie? Did he come back to ask her for her number? Did they both decide to take the leap? How did the conversation go? Why was their phone call in 618 so awkward if they had already made their intentions clear when they exchanged numbers? We have zero answers to these questions. This was so forced, so unearned, so underdeveloped, it makes it painfully obvious that it was done just to not leave Eddie heterosexually single. Because I’m sorry, homosubtextually, he’s been married for years.
Tumblr media
Which brings me to Buck and Natalia. I gotta roll my eyes at my own 615 meta, where I talked about the meaning of her name connecting her to birth, now we literally had her at the birth of Buck’s bio kid. What a piece of ironic foreshadowing. And yet, despite Natalia being a bit more developed than Marisol, despite the fact that Buck had what was maybe the most invested in personal resolution in the finale, it was still a let down for me. We have mostly seen why Natalia doesn’t suit him in eps 615 and 617. She did come back in the finale, but then so did Taylor in 414. That doesn’t mean either woman fits Buck as a partner. I’m left with the uneasy feeling that we have here a rerun of that s4 finale in terms of the ep shoving both men into relationships with underdeveloped LIs. TBH, the juxtaposition makes 618 worse IMO. Because the comparison with Marisol and Natalia actually makes Ana and Taylor look slightly more invested in! That says a lot about how little 911 cares about the 618 LIs. But it also gives me this bad sense of stepping in place with Buck and Eddie in terms of their romantic development. For example, the fact that Buck ends up tying yet another one of his couches to yet another gf at a way too early stage of their r/s (too much time couldn’t have passed between Kameron giving birth, ruining Buck’s couch, and his conversation about getting a couch together with Natalia since he was just getting around to having the old one looked at to see if it could be saved. He’s once again rushing into commitment with a girl he doesn’t yet know well enough, and who we saw in 615 he was idolizing as truly seeing him, when the truth was very different or she wouldn’t have run out on him in 617. I also can’t tell you why Natalia came back based on the few interactions we’ve seen between them, we haven’t had a single meaningful moment between them so far to explain it, making it clear he’s going in circles. I do suspect Buck doesn’t realize this is him repeating past mistakes, he thinks this is progress given his ability to let go of the baby, which could be an interesting angle to explore in s7. But probably what makes giving Buddie rushed heterosexual “endgame” LIs worse is that every bit of development either man made that isn’t about their love life got sidelined in this ep...
Tumblr media
I think in a sense, the underdevelopment of all of Buck and Eddie’s LIs, even the “endgame” ones in what could have been the show’s finale, might actually be a testament to the power of Buddie. If a showrunner knows they could never hope to develop any LI to have with either Buck or Eddie even a tenth of what they have with each other, that can explain not even trying. In fact, we got a reminder of the strong bond between these two men during the call. Buck saved Eddie, just as Eddie saved Buck during the lightning strike. The way they looked at each other, the zoom in on their hands grasping one another, was very emotionally poignant exactly because we have seen these two losing their whole damn minds trying to save the other man on more than one occasion. And Buck used the words “I got you,” a reminder that they will ALWAYS have each other’s back, on and off the field.
Tumblr media
The good news is that ABC has a chance to correct the course of where this finale left off. I do believe the move is being done knowing they would have to rejuvenate 911 if they want it to fare better than on Fox, and I think that giving Buddie the room to become canon would be exactly that. But I have said in more than one of my ask replies that to me, no matter what, this show has been telling the epic love story of Buck and Eddie, with the little family they built. Whether TPTB go through with that canonically or not, this is what they gave us. And nothing will take that away from me. If 911 ends with Buddie being single, I’ll just assume their feelings realization and confessions happen after the end of the show. If 911 ends with “endgame” heterosexual LIs, I’ll just know that those couples eventually break up at some point during the 118’s post-show future, and then Buddie finally get together. Because that’s the story we got over the course of the last 5 seasons, one that only has a single possible resolution, whether the show itself gives it to us or whether it forces us to have to imagine and write it down in fix-it fics ourselves. We ALL know what we saw. We ALL get what Buddie have. We ALL see how that inevitably would lead to them getting together sooner or later, and if it doesn’t happen during the show, then later it is, but it WILL happen. That’s how I look at the show, and that’s why even if this were the last ep of it, it still wouldn’t have destroyed Buddie for me. I hope this POV can help others, too.
~~ I’m gonna be here during the hiatus, if anyone wants to be here with me. Thank you so much to all of you who made s6 a lovelier ride by taking it with me! I’m endlessly grateful for every single one of you. xoxox

Betty White Vs. Gracie Allen
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda
Betty White - (The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Golden Girls, Life With Elizabeth) - I mean - does she really need an introduction? It's Betty White, people! The First Lady Of Television! What *hasn't* she done? She had an incredible career (in fact, she earned the Guinness World Record for the longest TV career by a female entertainer *twice*!) with an infinite list of successes - she won seven Emmys, three SAG awards, and even a Grammy. I personally know her best for her spectacular portrayal of Rose Nylund in The Golden Girls, but she's played so many great characters in her long career. A lesser known but marvelously charming role is that of the titular character in Life With Elizabeth, a 1950s sitcom which she also co-produced at the age of *28*! She was also a great advocate for a number of causes - animal welfare, gay rights (she used to accompany her friend Liberace to events to help him avoid being outed as gay), and racial equality: she famously hired Arthur Duncan, a Black tap dancer, on one of her shows, and when threatened with going off-air if he wasn't fired, she just declared "He stays, live with it." She's the whole package - amazing actress (and comedienne and producer!), kind and hilarious, and of course - beautiful! Just look at her - that smile! Those eyes! That charm!! Watch her in action if you can (they're too long to link here, but entire episodes of Life With Elizabeth are on youtube!), but honestly - her pictures alone are enough to make me swoon!
Gracie Allen - (The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show) - she's SO funny

Additional propaganda below the cut
Betty White:
Have you seen her?? Look me in the eyes and tell me that Betty White's smile doesn't have the power to turn anyone's heart to mush. She looks adorable one moment, and can come up with the most out of pocket lines the next (all while still looking innocent about it). People know her best as Rose Nylund in The Golden Girls, of course, where she played the show's most naive character. But reportedly, Betty was actually the cleverest person on set. She didn't even have to learn her lines; reading the script once was enough for her, and she'd be able to remember any additional changes throughout the week without a problem. Which is pretty amazing if you ask me! Anyway, Betty is an icon. Her television career spanned seven (7!!!) decades, covering basically the entire tournament's time period (and then some!). She *almost* turned 100 and her outliving other celebrities was a Tumblr meme for ages. She had her own talkshow in the 1950s, for which she hired a female director, and had an African-American tap dancer (Arthur Duncan) as a regular cast member. When faced with criticism for the latter and the threat of being boycotted, Betty responded with "I'm sorry. Live with it" and gave Duncan *more* airtime. She was also the first woman to ever produce a sitcom (Life with Elizabeth) in which she played the lead, and looked absolutely stunning doing it. All in all: Betty was a badass, had a heart of gold, and she's absolutely stunning!
I think I might cry at how pretty she is honestly

My problem with the execution of BostonNick's storyline
As happy as BostonNick's scenes make me & as well as NeoMark are performing, I can't help but feel that their story is like a puzzle with missing pieces. And it's always us viewers who have to fill in the gaps because they can't give them enough airtime to flesh out their storyline better.
Their scenes often feel cut short to me especially in the last couple of episodes? I've started to feel some noticeable gaps in the plot between one Boston and Nick scene and the next.
For example, when Nick goes to talk to Boston at the Halloween party in episode 8? We find out that Boston knew it was Nick who tipped Mew off about Gap. That entire segment felt off to me cause why would Nick even do Boston dirty like that after claiming he doesn't want to hurt him? And then why would he go & talk to him all casually after betraying him twice? Plus it would seem as if Boston totally hates Nick's guts now if not for the scene where he's sadly looking at Nick & his photos together. That one SINGULAR moment of him looking at their photos while day-drinking was literally all we had to indicate that Boston liked Nick too.
In episode 10, we jump straight from the repair shop scene to the rooftop scene, which felt so? Abrupt? Like as MUCH as I loved that scene, I felt like it came out of nowhere? One second Nick is flirting with Dan & giving him permission to hit on him, then Boston walks in with The Lockscreen™ & we straight up jump to Nick going over to see Boston at the rooftop. Like WE had to assume that Nick realised he can't stop loving Boston even though he has the option to be with Dan & that's why he decides to go back to him. But if you don't put that together, you'd be confused why Nick went to Ton after the whole speech he gave in the previous ep & after trying to move on with Dan? I just wish they'd SHOWED us a scene of Nick feeling torn between Dan & Ton? I wish there was a scene of him looking at the lockscreen in contemplation when Dan calls him to come see him or something, but Nick decides to ditch him to go see Ton? IDK something to fill in the gaps?
And the way Boston himself approached Nick at the shop hinting that he wants him back with the lockscreen, but the next second at the rooftop, he's asking Nick why he came there? Like? Bro you WANTED him to come? What happened in between for him to suddenly change his demeanor?
And now in the scene with Atom in episode 11, Boston mentioned something about Atom starting an anonymous account to expose Boston — WHICH CAME OUT OF NOWHERE? Like what do you mean Atom started an expose page? Why is nobody talking about this? How come Cheum didn't even get mad at her brother for framing Ton & falsely exposing him on the internet? If there's a rumor like that floating about Ton on the internet, isn't that going to cause problems for him with his dad?
Speaking of dad, what exactly is the issue between Boston & his dad? Like WE assumed Boston's dad might be homophobic but they never actually address this in canon. Why was Boston so scared of his dad finding out about his private life (other than the fact that NOBODY would want their parent to see a sex tape of them). But Boston's dad seemed to know he sleeps around & doesn't get serious with anyone? So what exactly is the issue? Why can't we get more background on Boston? We know his parents are divorced & his dad is a politician but we have no idea how he feels about any of this (except for our own assumptions).
AND NICK for that matter? Like we have no idea why he is so messed up. We know all about Ray's alcoholism & what prompted it. We know all about Sand's financial issues, familial issues, & ex-bf issues. We know about Top's trauma & how it affects him, and we know Mew was betrayed & cheated on which is why he started acting insane. But Nick? He's been insane since DAY 1 & we have noooo clue why? All we know about his past is that he used to have curly hair.
And this is not a jab at any of the other characters cause I'm invested in ALL the storylines. But this show is supposed to have 6 main characters, so why have BostonNick started to feel like a side couple? And with a storyline as complex as theirs, why are their scenes so limited & short? I just wish we didn't have to depend so much on our interpretations to understand BostonNick.

Common Dreams
Nov. 16, 2023
Democracy suffers when a commercial media system showcases fascist demagogues for profit.
There is no bottom for MAGA’s top man. At a speech delivered on Veterans Day, Donald Trump used rhetoric nearly identical to that used by Adolf Hitler 80 years earlier.
Rather than honoring veterans as one might expect of a political speech on this day, Trump used the occasion to label his adversaries “vermin” — promising that, if elected, he would use his power to “root out” all his political enemies.
The Washington Post’s Aaron Blake found the parallels: Hitler frequently used vermin references to justify the murder of Jews and others across Europe, while “Trump has used it more broadly to suggest that his opponents are subhuman” and deserve punishment.
Without calling themselves to account for the damage they've done, media executives will never quit their Trump habit
Parroting Hitler should not be considered normal behavior in any election cycle. But the media have grown used to covering Trump’s extremism as if it’s standard political fare. This time, though, some journalists rightly saw his Veterans Day speech as very dangerous.
“It’s important to emphasize that Trump’s rhetorical excesses are not new. To know anything about the Republican is to know that he, on a nearly daily basis, finds new and needlessly provocative ways to shock, offend, insult, and degrade,” wrote Steve Benen for MSNBC.
What is new, however, is the growing number of reporters and commentators being more explicit in their use of the term “fascist” to describe Trump’s beliefs — and “dictatorship” to describe what his return to power would represent for the future of U.S. democracy.
The media aren’t sounding these sorts of alarms enough, according to Margaret Sullivan, who wrote about the mounting evidence that Trump is indeed a fascist. “The press generally is not doing an adequate job of communicating those realities,” she said. “Instead, journalists have emphasized Joe Biden’s age and Trump’s ‘freewheeling’ style. They blame the public’s attitudes on ‘polarization,’ as if they themselves have no role.”
Sullivan urges more members of the press to report on the dark prospect of a second Trump presidency. They should “ask voters directly whether they are comfortable with [Trump’s] plans, and report on that. Display these stories prominently, and then do it again soon,” she wrote.
The ‘F’ word
Sullivan is right, of course. The media need to report more on the rise of fascism in America, and they also need to reflect on their role in enabling this. For decades the former president has capitalized on the media’s obsessive attention to paint an alternative vision of himself — one in which he features not as a twice-impeached, criminally indicted sexual abuser who sought to overthrow a democratic election that he lost, but as a decisive and winning strongman, the only person with the power and charisma to make America great again.
Media execs have played along with Trump’s charade, aware that his tele-presence is a boon for ratings and revenues. In 2016, then-CBS CEO Les Moonves said that devoting so much airtime to then-candidate Trump “may not be good for America, but it’s damn good for CBS.” At the time, Moonves was praising Trump for the bumper crop of political-ad dollars brought in during the contentious 2016 election, but he was not alone.
Former media executive Jeff Zucker has arguably done more than any single person to burnish the 21st-century caricature of Donald Trump. While an executive at NBC, he greenlit The Apprentice, which remade Trump from a bankruptcy-spawning loser into a boardroom genius with impeccable business savvy.
When Trump entered the political fray in 2015, he did so with an Apprentice tailwind. Zucker, who by then had transitioned to the top job at CNN, trained the network’s cameras on his celebrity candidate while denying equal time to Trump’s Republican opponents. Ratings were also Zucker’s rationale for keeping Trump center stage in 2016.
The media chose Trump in 2016 well before most Republican voters had a chance to vote for any of the other GOP candidates in the race.
And it didn’t end there. In 2020, Mathias Döpfner, head of German media giant Axel Springer, sent a message asking the company’s executives if they wanted to “get together for an hour on the morning on Nov. 3 and pray that Donald Trump will again become President of the United States of America?” Döpfner justified this question by praising the Trump administration for supporting issues, like corporate tax breaks and reining in big tech, that benefitted Axel Springer.
The profit incentive
If you’re noticing a pattern, it's this: Democracy suffers when a commercial media system showcases fascist demagogues for profit.
That seems obvious enough, but it’s worth repeating: News media companies rely on ratings and related advertising revenues to survive. In other words, the news business is about putting on a show that will draw the largest numbers of viewers. And Trump — like Hitler and Mussolini before him — is a camera-ready showman.
More important matters like correcting Trump’s many falsehoods or reporting on the troubling consequences of a second Trump presidency are secondary for those who just want to draw more attention to their primetime offerings.
Former executives, like Moonves and Zucker (who for a variety of unsavory reasons have since left their companies), and existing ones, like Döpfner, were saying that as long as Trump’s autocratic extremism makes them richer, there’s no need to worry about the consequences. Never mind that, if elected, he’d likely use his power to undermine media freedom and silence dissenting voices.
The commercial U.S. media system needs to undergo deep reckoning for accommodating the rise of Trumpism. This atonement should be reflected in a shift in the ways large outlets report on Trump, but also by recognizing the commercial incentives that drive media to lead with the Trump Show, damn the far-right repercussions.
Without calling themselves to account for the damage they've done, media executives will never quit their Trump habit — not in 2024, nor at any point after.

WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION MAGAZINE : APRIL 2001
The Deadliest Diva
Are the Women of the Federation Ducking Jacqueline?
By Brian Soloman
Transcript Below!!!
Today, more than ever in the World Wrestling Federation, women are able to hold their own in what was previously a man’s game. The current roster of Divas contains females who are more than capable of keeping pace with the male Superstars. It’s clear, however, that some are tougher than others. In the case of Jaqueline, it’s entirely possible that she may be too tough for her own good.
Most serious observers of the mat game consider Jacqueline to be one of the most gifted female competitors around. Her skills and experience give her a clear in-ring advantage among the other Divas. Yet when it comes to getting airtime on Federation programming, or a slot in important matches, it seems that she’s often passed over in favor of Lita, Trish Stratus, Ivory or others. Why does this happen? To longtime fans of the mat wars, the answer is simple: When it comes to stepping in the ring, Jackie sends the other girls running for cover.
Whenever she has been featured on Raw is War, Smackdown! Or Sunday Night Heat, she has succeeded in putting on a memorable match and made a solid showing. Nevertheless, her TV exposure remains limited. It’s entirely possible that those she’s faced in the past–who have either lost to her or won by a narrow margin–had such a rough time that they thought twice about locking up with her again. When’s the last time you saw her engage in an ongoing series of matches with a single opponent? There doesn’t seem to be anyone willing to test her own skills against Jackie’s for an extended period of time.
“I’m a two-time Women’s Champion, and I would like to move up,” she says. “I wouldn’t mind competing with light-heavyweight guys, like Chyna does. I’m not ego-tripping or anything but right now I don’t have enough competition.”
Indeed, Jacqueline spent the better part of her early career tangling almost exclusively with men, simply because most women were too intimidated to face off with her. On occasion, she has done the same thing in the Federation. For instance, she challenged Dean Malenko for the Light Heavyweight Championship last year. Perhaps she feels that competing against men is her only resort due to the shortage of women willing to step up to the plate.
When she comes up with the loser’s share of the purse, Jacqueline takes it to the limit. Most of her losses can be regarded as flukes. For example, her loss of the Women’s Championship to Stephaine McMahon-Helmsley a year ago was not for the lack of wrestling skill. Jackie had mattered well in hand against the inexperienced Stephanie, but outside interference from then D-Generation X member Tori was too much to overcome. It’s obvious that most of her rivals feel that those kinds of tactics are needed to beat her.
“I don’t want to knock the women,” Jackie is quick to point out. “The females of the World Wrestling Federation are excellent athletes. I just want to take it to another level. Until they can find more women who can wrestle my style, let me wrestle guys.”
Each Diva has her own distinct style. Lita employs aerial attack. Trish Stratus and The Kat are more from the cat-fighting, hair pulling school of women’s wrestling. But when it comes to flat-out brawling and taking it to the mat, Jacqueline brings as much intensity and skill to the table as any of the larger male Superstars. In fact, Jacqueline was trained entirely by men in preparation for her in-ring career.
However, Jackie’s not the only Diva who prefers squaring off against men. If there’s one woman in the Federation who most certainly is not ducking anyone is the Ninth Wonder of the World, Chyna. More than any woman in sports-entertainment history, Chyna has held her own against male opponents. In fact, she competes almost exclusively against men, and she was the first female to capture any men’s title when she won the Intercontinental Championship. Yet to date, Jacqueline and Chyna have never met one-on-one in the squared circle. It’s the one piece missing from the puzzle.
“There’s a height difference between Chyna and I,” Jackie points out. “But I have wrestled guys well over 200 pounds. I think we could go out there and have a h@ll of a match. I think the people would love it. You’d have to put that on pay-per-view.”
The glaring size difference is probably one of the reasons Jacqueline and Chyna have never been matched up. After all, Jackie is one of the smallest competitors on the Federation roster. But as she points out, those who have Underestimated her have paid the price in the past.
The Chyna-issue notwithstanding, the fact remains that Jacqueline has yet to reach her potential as a Federation competitor. Something must happen to shake Federation officials out of their complacency so that she can achieve the recognition she deserves. Few female grapplers in recent history have put together such a lethal combination of beauty and toughness. Though she’s twice achieved Women’s Championship status in today’s Federation there’s so much more for her to accomplish. It’s clear that she’s capable of just about anything, if given a chance.
“I think all the Divas are sexy in their own way,” she says. “But I think people look at me as more of an athlete. I think that’s what sets me apart from the other Divas. I can be sexy too–when I want to. But I’m more versatile than the other girls. I can do it all.”
Jacqueline’s Keys to Victory
Her masterful ring skills give Jacqueline an enviable edge between the ropes. She has proven that she has what it takes to beat any of the Divas on any given night. We at World Wrestling Federation Magazine have analyzed the ring strategies of some of the game’s most dangerous females, and come up with our own suggestions on what Jackie needs to do to get the 1-2-3.
Chyna
The Ninth wonder of the World would present Jackie with her toughest challenge. Strength and size go to Chyna, but Jackie is a wily veteran with a clear advantage in experience. She would have to avoid going toe-to-toe, and instead must stick and move, focusing on the legs of her opponent. Jackie’s speed would be her greatest asset.
Lita
No one compares to Lita in terms of aerial ability. Jacqueline would have to keep the high-flyer grounded as much as possible. Once on the mat, Lita would be no match for Jackie’s scientific skills and sheer brawling power. Most importantly, she can’t given Lita a second to breathe.
The Kat
The styles of Jackie and The Kat could not be more different. The Kat may enjoy an advantage in quickness, but that quickness would be of no use against a well-executed power assault from Jackie. She would need to overpower The Kat, and rely on strength more than technique.
Ivory
Of all the women, Ivory is the only one with experience rivaling Jackie’s. She would anticipate Jackie’s every move. Psychology would have to be Jacqueline’s primary weapon. She would be best served by employing stall tactics and mind games until Ivory lets her guard down. Once she finds an opening, Hackie could move in for the kill.
Trish Stratus
Recently, Trish has outsmarted Jackie in mixed tag-team matches, using distraction to pin her. A level head would be essential for Jackie to deflect Trish’s psychological edge. Then, Jackie’s experience and athletic advantages could take over. In straight one-to-one combat, the Canadian Diva wouldn’t even stand a chance.
Molly Holly
Molly’s edge could be summed up in one word: conditioning. What she lacks in experience, she makes up for in determination, so Jackie would have to formulate a single-minded strategy. She would need to focus on a specific body part, to cripple Molly in some way and take the wind out of her sails.

Undead Unluck ep.13 thoughts
[Happy Late Out of Touch Thursday]
(Contents: praise - animation/adaptational additions, griping - exposition/pacing)
It goes without saying that the animation was good. I say it every week. This episode also, as usual, made some good and noteworthy extensions: they extended the fight between Andy and Tatiana in such a way that we felt the danger that Fuuko was in a lot better, they added in Tatiana finding Gina's body which added some weight to her anger at Andy, we got to see Creed actually losing his hand when Tatiana unleashed her barrier, and the embellishment of her hair glowing and her Rule breaking through was really cool
All of the events of this episode were really good, and I would go so far as to say this was a much better episode than last week's, but there's one thing that really bothers me about this episode that I imagine many of you noticed too: these recap scenes are getting absolutely ridiculous
I don't mean the recap of the previous episodes at the beginning, though this series is pretty egregious about it, I'm talking about how they decided they needed to recap a 30-second-long conversation that we just had! I don't even think it was after a commercial break, they just...showed the same conversation twice! You could have done anything with that airtime! Make the fight longer! Make Fuuko and Tatiana reconciling longer! Do literally anything other than repeat a full monologue that we just heard!!!
Undead Unluck has definitely done that many times, I'm pretty sure I've said "yes, I was there" out loud while watching nearly every episode so far, but this??? Whose idea was that? Who okayed it?? Was it a problem with the budget? Did the timing come up short and they just needed to pad something ASAP? There's a story here, and I feel like I need to know it!
But like I said, the actual content of the episode was really good. I don't want to give the impression that this is a bad episode by any means, there was just one really disappointing element that was hard to ignore because it definitely speaks to a bigger problem, whatever that problem may be. Either someone is really bad at budgeting their time, someone is bad at budgeting the money, or Yuki Yase thinks we're idiots who won't understand what's going on if we don't hear it twice, but something is wrong, and I hope it gets ironed out as we go
Even if it doesn't, I'll probably be able to forgive it fine so long as the action stays this good or better, and with the Rip fight coming up next week, it better be great. This is the climax of cour one, and it's set to have a gorgeous backdrop, so they better put their whole ass into this one! I'm not asking for Demon Slayer ep.19 or nothing, but...well, that sure would be something, wouldn't it?
Until next time, let's enjoy life

I have to say, it is endlessly frustrating that every female character in mha, bar like, Toga, is not allowed to be angry. While Fuyumi’s response to abuse is realistic, I think its a really good showcasing of how hori views his female characters. Out of four children, the only one who even remotely puts up with endeavor’s behavior, who wants to have a real relationship with him, is his daughter. Why is she the only one who’s forgiving of him? I mean, I know why, but its still infuriating that none of the female characters in this manga are allowed to be anything other than alluring, happy, scared, or *briefly* upset.
Yeah, when I was writing that post out I noticed that stark difference between Fuyumi and the three guys, all of whom rebelled, and how their broad personality traits came down pretty straight from their same gendered parent.
Like, in general, all of the various Todokori family's reactions to Endeavour are legit, though Dabi's is, fittingly enough, turned up to eleven, but when you look at it from a broader perspective like that it is... prominent.
Like, real talk for a minute, if I could choose how Fuyumi was written, I'd have had her been quiet and passive her whole life, like she was knuckling down under the pressure... but the second she got of age she was gone. And when I mean gone, I mean gone: not just out of the house, like Natsuo, not just out of the city, but out of the country. Just... gone. The day of her eighteenth birthday, that morning the family wakes up and realizes that she vanished, there's nothing left in her room, and there wasn't even a mention of even wanting to leave or anything beforehand, nothing. Fuyumi just plans and executes this completely under the radar.
And then it turns out she's off somewhere riding motorcycles or something, probably in the US since that's the second most developed country in the story, living her best life and never looking back, with a changed name and a different hair style, nothing to connect her to her old life. It'd be easy enough for her to enter the story proper when Dabi Dances, wanting to see her long lost brother (maybe build that up as the point where she just gave up on Endeavour and everything and everyone even remotely related to him) and such, and there's a lot of potential conflict to play off her just abandoning everyone, but... a Todoroki wouldn't be a Todoroki if they weren't fucked up somehow, right?
Refocusing though... if anything, you're too generous to Hori. Toga was half assed angry for a handful of chapters, and even then it was muted and nonsensical, mixed with a basic inability to grasp reality ('"a hero killed us?", she said incomprehensibly; there was this bizarre lack of understanding of the consequences of the the PLF's actions and how killing people, gasp, may get you killed!) and a really weird refusal to actually be angry at the person who flatout murdered Twice. The murder that, you know, she watched happen, since Dabi conveniently broadcasted it for the world to see. After that though, she was depressed, and now she's in some weird 'Let me be evil' subplot where she's thoeretically doubling down on being an actual villain (like she wasn't already), but she's too busy having an identity crisis or something to actually focus on that, and a good half of her airtime is still about the weird, completely undeveloped 'love triangle' thing.
And now that you say this I really, honestly, can't think of a time a woman was properly angry in this series. I mean, hell, Mirko is usually the exception that proves the rule to most of Hori's sexist treatments about women, but even she's more determined and just plain aggressive rather than angry. It's pretty nuts when you think about it.
And it's just... it's not like we need a lot, but there's enough shit that happens in MHA, to everyone, that there's every reason for some woman somewhere to want to scream at someone good and proper.
I mean, normally I'd expand on this a bit, but I can't really think of anything to say beyond the obvious. Women should have been angry throughout the entire story. They weren't. There's nothing that can really explain it, or mitigate, or anything, beyond just Hori not wanting to write a woman that way for reasons that are all too obvious.

performatively saying you don't care about whites and white women are the worst etc but stanning for anti-black white trans women like that tattletale user who was repeatedly corrected and took no accountability. this dynamic happens so often with cis black women and white trans women on tumblr left and it always ends in accusations of transphobia and dismissal of what the black woman said. never change tumblr left
genuinely, I'd be interested to hear about what "taking accountability" means to you, if not completely reversing her position, apologising I believe twice or thrice, specifically saying that the position she had taken (out of a lack of investigation) was antiblack in the apology/apologies themselves, reblogging posts that argued counter to her original position, making further original posts after that which explicitly denounced lines of thought that her original position arguably led to and apologising once more for giving airtime to said lines of thought, and then not having said or done anything similar to that since then. what should someone do to "take accountability" for something?

Why Must Palestinians Audition for Your Empathy?
I’ve moved back to the United States twice since my birth. Once as a child, after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. Then again for graduate school. I’d had the privilege of a youth — adolescence and young adulthood — in countries where being Palestinian was fairly common. The identity could be heavy, but it wasn’t a contested one. I hadn’t had to learn the respectability politics of being a Palestinian adult. I learned quickly.
The task of the Palestinian is to be palatable or to be condemned. The task of the Palestinian, we’ve seen in the past two weeks, is to audition for empathy and compassion. To prove that we deserve it. To earn it.
In the past couple of weeks, I’ve watched Palestinian activists, lawyers, professors get baited and interrupted on air, if not silenced altogether. They are being made to sing for the supper of airtime and fair coverage. They are begging reporters to do the most basic tasks of their job. At the same time, Palestinians fleeing from bombs have been misidentified. Even when under attack, they must be costumed as another people to elicit humanity. Even in death, they cannot rest — Palestinians are being buried in mass graves or in old graves dug up to make room, and still there is not enough space.
If that weren’t enough, Palestinian slaughter is too often presented ahistorically, untethered to reality: It is not attributed to real steel and missiles, to occupation, to policy. To earn compassion for their dead, Palestinians must first prove their innocence. The real problem with condemnation is the quiet, sly tenor of the questions that accompany it: Palestinians are presumed violent — and deserving of violence — until proved otherwise. Their deaths are presumed defensible until proved otherwise. What is the word of a Palestinian against a machinery that investigates itself, that absolves itself of accused crimes? What is it against a government whose representatives have referred to Palestinians as “human animals” and “wild beasts”? When a well-suited man can say brazenly and unflinchingly that there is no such thing as a Palestinian people?
It is, of course, a remarkably effective strategy. A slaughter isn’t a slaughter if those being slaughtered are at fault, if they’ve been quietly and effectively dehumanized — in the media, through policy — for years. If nobody is a civilian, nobody can be a victim.
***
In 2017, I published a novel about a Palestinian family. It was published by a respectable publisher, got a lot of lovely press, was given a book tour. I spoke on panels, to book clubs. I answered questions after readings. There was a refrain that kept coming up. People kept commenting on how human the story was. You’ve humanized the conflict. This is a human story.
Of course, literature and the arts play a crucial role in providing context — expanding our empathy, granting us glimpses into other worlds. But every time I was told I’d humanized the Palestinians, I would have to suppress the question it invoked: What had they been before?
A couple of weeks ago, in a professional space, someone called Palestinians by name and spoke of the seven decades of their anguish. I sat among dozens of co-workers and realized my lip was quivering. I was crying before I understood it was happening. I fled the room, and it took 10 minutes for me to stop sobbing. I didn’t immediately understand my reaction. Over the years, I’ve faced meetings, classrooms and other institutional spaces where Palestinians went unnamed or were referred to only as terrorists. I came of professional age in a country where people lost all sorts of things for speaking of Palestine: social standing, university tenure, journalist positions. But in the end, I am undone not by silence or erasure but by empathy. By the simple naming of my people. By increasing recognition that liberation is linked. By spaces of Palestinian-Jewish solidarity. By what has become controversial: the simple speaking aloud of Palestinian suffering.
These days, everyone is trying to write about the children. An incomprehensible number of them dead and counting. We are up at night, combing through the flickering light of our phones, trying to find the metaphor, the clip, the photograph to prove a child is a child. It is an unbearable task. We ask: Will this be the image that finally does it? This half-child on a rooftop? This video, reposted by Al Jazeera, of an inconsolable girl appearing to recognize her mother’s body among the dead, screaming out, “It’s her, it’s her. I swear it’s her. I know her from her hair”?
***
Take it from a writer: There is nothing like the tedium of trying to come up with analogies. There is something humiliating in trying to earn solidarity. I keep seeing infographics desperately trying to appeal to American audiences. Imagine most of the population of Manhattan being told to evacuate in 24 hours. Imagine the president of [ ] going on NBC and saying all [ ] people are [ ]. Look! Here’s a strip on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea. That’s Gaza. It is about the same size as Philadelphia. Or multiply the entire population of Las Vegas by three.
This is demoralizing work, to have to speak constantly in the vernacular of tragedies and atrocities, to say: Look, look. Remember? That other suffering that was eventually deemed unacceptable? Let me hold it up to this one. Let me show you proportion. Let me earn your outrage. Absent that, let me earn your memory. Please.
I don’t hesitate for a second to condemn the killing of any child, any massacre of civilians — this of course includes Jewish life. It is the easiest ask in the world. And it is not in spite of that but because of that I say: Condemn the brutalization of bodies. By all means, do. Condemn murder. Condemn violence, imprisonment, all forms of oppression. But if your shock and distress comes only at the sight of certain brutalized bodies? If you speak out but not when Palestinian bodies are besieged and murdered, abducted and imprisoned? Then it is worth asking yourself which brutalization is acceptable to you, even quietly, even subconsciously, and which is not.
Name the discrepancy and own it. If you can’t be equitable, be honest.
There is nothing complicated about asking for freedom. Palestinians deserve equal rights, equal access to resources, equal access to fair elections and so forth. If this makes you uneasy, then you must ask yourself why.
***
Here is the truth of the diasporic Palestinians: They are not magically diasporic. Their diaspora-ness is a direct result of often violent, intentional and illegal dispossession. One day a house is yours; one day it is not. One day a neighborhood is yours; one day it is not. One day a territory is yours; one day it is not. This same sort of dispossession is grounded in the same mind-set and international complicity that is playing out in Gaza.
I’m a poet, a writer, a psychologist. I’m deeply familiar with the importance of language. I’ve agonized over an em dash. I’ve spent afternoons muttering about the aptness of a verb. I pay attention to language, my own and others. Being Palestinian in this country — in many countries — is a numbing exercise in gauging where pockets of safety are, sussing out which friends, co-workers or acquaintances will be allies, which will stay silent. Who will speak.
Here’s another thing I know as a writer and psychologist: It matters where you start a narrative. In addiction work, you call this playing the tape. Diasporically or not, being Palestinian is the quintessential disrupter: It messes with a curated, modified tape. We exist, and our existence presents an existential affront. As long as we exist, we challenge several falsehoods, not the least of which is that, for some, we never existed at all. That decades ago, a country was born in the delicious, glittering expanse of nothingness — a birthright, something due. Our very existence challenges a formidable, militarized narrative.
But the days of the Palestine exception are numbered. Palestine is increasingly becoming the litmus test for true liberatory practice.
In the meantime, Palestinians continue to be cast paradoxically — both terror and invisible, both people who never existed and people who cannot return.
Imagine being such a pest, such an obstacle. Or: Imagine being so powerful.

Combining my interest of rollercoasters and Fe3h into the world’s most niche post where I imagine an Fe3h themed duelling rollercoaster.
The Crimson Flower coaster would be an inverted coaster as it goes against usual Fire Emblem conventions. One seat per row due to Edelgard’s ‘I walk this path alone’ thing. It should also be shortest due to her route being the smallest. It also absolutely needs a launch because of the ‘GO GO GO WE’VE RUN OUT OF DEVELOPMENT MONEY’ feeling of the route and it’s fast pace.
The Azure Moon coaster would be a two seats per row due to Dimitris reliance on Byleth to be able to survive a route. Lap bar restraints with lots of inversions and twists and turns. The layout and ride experience should feel chaotic and like your about to fly off in a nod to Dimitri’s mental state and how he leads the army at the start of Part 2. I think it should also have a similar feature to Expedition Everest where it appears you are about to fly off the tracks but instead roll backwards, representing the events after Gronder, the army backtracking and coming back from the brink.
Verdant Wind needs to have a cart with as many possible per row as practical with the ride elements. Lots of seats next to each other to match the routes themes of togetherness. I think a cobra roll would be fun as a fun nod to Claude’s affinity for poison (I don’t know if a Cobra is actually poisonous but it’s a snake and in pop culture terms snakes are affiliated with poison). Also it should have a 90 degree drop element that goes underground due to the TWSITD plot and some airtime hills as a nod to Claude’s canonical class. The track should mainly circles the perimeter of the other two.
The Crimson Flower coaster and Azure Moon coaster should have the most near misses as their conflict is the one of the defining features of the plot. I feel Verdant Wind’s coaster would only have a near miss with the Azure Moon one once (Gronder) and the Crimson Flower one twice (Gronder and the defeat of the Empire).
This was the result of late night brain so it’s probably trash but hey the thought of a three way Duelling Coaster is so fun and my returning 3H obsession creates strange posts like this.

So I’m a bit aware of the general plot of Young Sheldon bc clips of important scenes clog my YouTube shorts and tiktok. I don’t like it / TBBT but the idea of a semi-serious prequel show to a really basic sitcom comic relief character always intrigued me like what are they pulling from the original show to make this backstory etc. Anyways one of the big plot points in Young Sheldon is that his older brother George knocked up a girl 10 years older than him when he was like 17, this girl is played by Emily Osment which tickles me so much, and I remember thinking oh that’s such a weird plot point it gets so much airtime that must have been a big part of the original show’s character. COME TO FIND OUT thru my big bang theory wiki research they totally invented the entire thing for Young Sheldon and the one time George appears on the Big Bang theory he’s like twice divorced and doesn’t mention having a kid. And that’s just really funny to me what a weird choice

Roller Coaster Enthusiast 4*Town
Okay, so I've been having brainrot recently, and I wanna talk about what I think the members of 4*Town would be like as roller coaster enthusiasts
For context, a roller coaster enthusiast is a person who knows a lot about and enjoys riding coasters!
There are other things that make an enthusiast (counting credits, having opinions on rides you haven't ridden, ect ect), but that's the jist!
Even so, I'm gonna make a key of terms used and such, just so this post is a little bit more readable for the uninitiated!
KEY
Home park: the amusement park closest to where you live
Credits: how many different roller coasters you've ridden
Rattle: when steel coasters kinda,,, vibrate? seen most commonly on older B&M's
Airtime: the feeling of rising out of your seat. Is often described as floater (slow rise and fall) and ejector (quick pop, throwing you into your restraint)
Operating time: the amount of time between when the restraints are released to when the train gets sent out again with a new load of guests
Name of a park
Name of a coaster
Name of a manufacturer
Name of a coaster model
ROBAIRE
Forever spiteful that Canada has a whole four notable parks
Home park is Canada's Wonderland, easy
La Ronde slanderer
Calls it "the shityard"
"Six Flags won't even put their name on it, that's how bad it is"
Intensity kinda guy, I305 is in his top five
Loves Intimin, and of course, RMC
Constantly complaining that RMC doesn't work in Canada
Loves King's Dominion, goes at least twice a year
Fierce defender of coasters, will shut down anyone who tries to say they aren't safe
"I was in line for a ride once, and someone's restraint came undone-" "No, that's not how that works"
"I heard they got stuck upside down on the loop." "That's not how that works"
"The ride broke down while we were on it, and we had to evacuate off the lift hill!" "That's actually because the safety mechanisms were working properly, there was literally nothing dangerous going on"
If he hears you saying something like that, he will tell you you're wrong, doesn't matter if he knows you or not
Hates the stigma around coasters, and loves introducing people to his hobby
He just wants people to have fun! Fear mongering doesn't make it fun
TAEYOUNG
Doesn't value any one kind of ride over another, literally loves everything
(as long the ride isn't garbage that is)
Loves a well-themed, innovative ride
Think like, Volcano the Blast Coaster and Time Traveller
Doesn't care to much about manufacturers, but will defend Mack and S&S with his life
"Of course I'm excited for the new Mack Multi-Launch, you aren't?"
Doesn't have a favourite park, but if you asked he'd probably say Dollywood
Definitely loves both Busch Gardens too
Cheetah Hunt adorer
Huge merchandise collector
Definitely has the Carowinds Squishmallows, idec
Has an entire room dedicated to model coaster and other merch
It's nostalgic for him! He loves going in there and being surrounded by things that remind him of his favourite hobby!
Has a wall that's top to bottom covered in park maps
Dreams of one day designing roller coasters himself, but doesn't want to go to school for physics or engineering so that stays a dream LMAO
Loved and respected by the community, meets up with people all the time
Doesn't have a huge online presence himself, but features so often in other peoples content that everyone knows who he is
JESSE
"They should have added a B&M"
He's that guy
Can't fault him for it though, he loves a smooth, high quality coaster
Cannot handle wooden coasters, they're too rough for him
But he will tear you to pieces if you claim one of his favourite coasters has a rattle
Floater airtime > Ejector airtime > anything else
He'll ride anything once for the credit, but is very picky about what he rerides
Has controversial opinions to be honest
"I'd ride Gatekeeper over Maverick any day" and the entire community explodes
(especially Robaire LMAO)
Fury 325 is his favourite
He probably moved to the Carolinas just so he could have Carowinds as his home park
Paints coasters too
Does art commissions, lots of landscapes and stuff
Having a piece of his art is lowkey a standard for more notable enthusiasts, anyone with a public presence definitely purchased from him at least once
He's just that good
He has a separate appriciation for coasters that look pretty
Wildfire at Kolmarden? Absolute beauty, but too intense for him to ride regularly
Thinks B&M coasters are the most graceful in both ride experience and appearance
But has a special appreciation for the Intimin Blitz tracks (think Maverick)
AARON T.
Home park is Cedar Point and everyone is jealous
He probably works there too
And it's his favourite, nobody can fault him
Probably cried when someone told him Top Thrill Dragster might not reopen
He holds every single popular opinion, and nobody can get mad because he's right
Steel Vengeance and Velocicoaster fanboy
LOVES RMC
Has ridden every single one
Credit list is stacked
Name a popular coaster, and he's been on it
Probably makes youtube videos
His wardrobe consists entirely of coaster graphic tees
Like Robaire, he has zero tolerance for people bullshitting about roller coaster safety
Talks about it all the time, especially to guests that look nervous
He'll be checking someone's restraint, and if they show him so much as a hint of nerves he'll explain how the whole system works
Does it make his operating times less efficient? Yes, but his coworkers don't really care
He will turn around and complain when other rides have poor operating times though
"90 seocond ops? I could do it so much faster"
No you couldn't Aaron, you'd talk their ears off
Truly loves his job, loves being in amusement parks, and loves sharing that love with every guest who gets on his ride
AARON Z.
Exists purely and solely because El Toro exists
(Is it really a group of enthusiasts if at least one of them isn't unhealthily attached to El Toro?)
Wishes more Intimin Prefabs were made
Misses Arrow Dynamics everyday
"Yes I need to reride the Arrow Looper, do you have no respect for our history?"
But then turns around and shits on old Vekomas
Two character traits: El Toro and hating Vekoma SLCs
Genuinely celebrates whenever one gets removed
LOVES wooden coasters
Voyage, Lightning Rod, El Toro (of course), pretty much any GCI
Home park is Knotts Berry Farm
Favourite park is Six Flags Great Adventure, home of (you guessed it) El Toro
Considering moving to New Jersey just so it's his home park
Posts off-ride footage, and everyone adores him for it
His footage is used in pretty much every top ten video
Like Tae, he meets up with people all the time
ESPECIALLY if they go to Great Adventure, he will take any excuse to go
Gets invited to media events
Huge name, but most new enthusiasts don't know anything about who he is
He's the kinda guy that you really have to meet in person to get a feel for his opinions and who he is
Intimidating at first, but no El Toro fanboy can stay intimidating for long

Ok so Episode 7.
Spoilers etc. fair warning.
No Raffi? C’mon why? Ugh!
Actually no in all seriousness it doesn’t make sense. The changelings have a plot re: frontier day and they are running out of time. Rather than focus on the fight they instead are searching for Riker. Like no offence but is that really a priority?
I am especially aghast to be honest because when they enacted the plan and for Vadic off her ship (when they knew Riker was on the shrike as that’s where his code came from) they didn’t send an away team to rescue him? Like did they just forget?
I am sick of this Data/Lore plot as it is sucking up airtime and I can’t see how it’s relevant. When Geordi was explaining again about the personality partitions, I was just like “this is taking too long, unless this becomes super important” but it feels like it was just there so Lore could take the ship which was mega convenient for the bad guys and thus stupid. Vadic having a contingency which explained why they were so confident - that made sense. Winning through luck because Lore had a moment of fun? That was not foreseeable. I repeat what I said last week. Data has died twice, let him go. I love the character don’t get me wrong but enough is enough.
Tuvok guest appearance (well as a changeling) was unexpected! I didn’t know any Voyager alums were appearing so that was cool. I liked how Seven tricked him into revealing he wasn’t Tuvok but otherwise… “they are not taking the bridge” and then 2 seconds later… 🤦‍♂️
A pet peeve of mine is when a character is brilliant, and the writers dumb them down, so other characters can also look good/the villain can win etc. It is lazy storytelling to build a character up at the expense of another. I see it all the time and ugh it is aggravating. Seven is so much better than this. Not just Seven either. I get it that the ‘heroes’ are who we are following but it is just not realistic that they are the only ones who know about the changelings and are doing something. They name dropped Janeway again and if she isn’t replaced with a changeling and thus in a cage masterminding an escape, I am going to be pissed if she doesn’t play a role in the ‘final battle’ so to speak. She doesn’t have to appear but if there isn’t a mention of her being badass well… jumping and sharks come to mind.
StarFleet making these changelings like Frankenstein’s monster doesn’t shock me. I have a always seen the darker side. The ideals of the institution are admirable but it’s made up of people, and people aren’t perfect. They get scared or selfish and they make choices. Beverley somehow forgetting she iced two invaders in the opening episode with her “I am considering not following do no harm oath” was a bit like ship has sailed on that one. Honestly though the whole “wrestling with the morality” plot point would be really good if they spent more than 2 seconds on it. They aren’t spending their limited time budget wisely. Some episodes feel like filler as they didn’t have enough plot to stretch, others are just too rushed and not spending enough time on the points that matter.
So Picard’s brain issue, which Jack inherited, isn’t actually that and Jack is now telepathic. Random evolution seems unlikely but all I can think is Q did something given his fondness for Picard. Although Vadic saying “he was never really yours” to Beverley is giving me Anakin vibes. Like is Jack actually Picard’s son or somehow created to enhance whatever is going on with him? As a Stargate fan I snigger about ATA gene but honestly I have no idea. How have people not noticed the red eyes thing though?
I am reasonably sure that they are wrong that they want Jack’s blood to animate Picard’s body. But given the deadline of Frontier Day… I just don’t know and there are what three episodes left? The pacing is worrying. The cast too big to do anyone justice. I really have no clue why they wrote Rios out just to being in Shaw. I had thought they wrote out the new characters to bring back the old TNG crowd, but then they invented more characters? Logic not found.
Honestly I am at the stage where I just want to know what the canon is so I can fix it more accurately in my head.
Next week really needs more Raffi. Somehow they will have to retake the Titan. Maybe Raffi saves the day? I know, never happening but I can dream. I missed her this week :(

ok so here's the six flags senior trip dump from yesterday <3
i don't take a lot of pics at parks that aren't disney bc i mean. im focused on getting to the coasters lmao, but these were some highlights!!
Jersey Devil is officially my first RMC credit! I was able to ride twice, which is incredible, one of which was in the front row!! I consider my self extremely lucky for that! It was such a fun experience. ofc i wish i was able to get a back row ride but i wasnt able to, ill try again next time lmao The ejector airtime you get on here is insane.
I just like to get pictures of the Batmobile every time i see it-
I also bought the laser-cut wooden model of Jersey Devil's front car, and by GOD was it a hassle to put together. worth it, tho! And I got a nanocoaster of Batman bc what it's Batman, it's always perfect.
And finally, probably my favorite picture because of the memory attached to it, Nitro at sunset. I can't believe I was able to ride it at this time. My friends and I were waiting outside the queue with a bunch of other people because we could see it cycling with people on it, but there was a closed sign at the entrance. We decided "eh its probably just testing with ride ops but its the end of the day so they wont open again." We went and got our stuff from the lockers and as we're walking back we see a FLOOD of people running through Nitro's entrance as the closed sign was lifted. We absolutely HAULED ASS to get there and got on with no line. Sunset Nitro. no line. think about that for more than 5 seconds and tell me you dont wanna go CRAZY. the view was beautiful, it was so much fun to do with my close friends, i couldn't have asked for a better ride experience. Also, it's Nitro, it's floater airtime heaven. it was amazing.
overall, i rode superman twice, jersey devil twice, batman twice, nitro once and green lantern once (never fucking again, i did it for the credit and jesus fucking christ yes i know why we all really hate it now. im still in pain. rip that shit out of the ground and put a wing coaster or intamin blitz there or something.)
it was a really fun trip and i'm glad it's one of my big senior memories (DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE ENTIRE TRIP GOT DELAYED BY 4 HOURS BECAUSE OF BUS COMPLICATIONS....yeah typical [adam's high school] bullshit, poor planning and poor communication <3) but it was all worth it in the end

Star Stable Horse Name Ideas
I did this once or twice years back (and they’re still on my Deviantart here) but this was before the new additions of blank columns and add-ons like “ie”, “y”, and “ly”. With that new addition - and with me throwing myself back into the game for nostalgia’s sake - here is an additional list of Star Stable horse names I’ve dutifully sat and come up with for an hour.
(Side note: I was going to alphabetize them, and then I was just like “fuck it” so, I didn’t)
- Cakebox
- Carrotcake
- Dogdare
- Raindeer (Look rein wasn’t in the column)
- Robinhoof (you laugh, this’ll be their next story next to Knights of Unistria)
- Lemonlime
- Keylime
- Junglerunner (I was hoping for temple runner, to make a clearer reference to temple run, but eh, this was close enough)
- Flowerbox
- Ivorykey (aka piano keys)
- Paperkite
- Mirrormaze (Additional: Papermaze, which I’m attaching rather than adding because it doesn’t really make sense like the rest do, BUT it sounds super cool and I’m probably going to swipe it before too long)
- Watermelon
- Powerplay (If you’re brave enough. I got away with Moonshine, so like...)
- Sadie (that is, sad + ie)
- Trailrider
-Trailblaze
- Brokenchain
- Airtime (for you junkies)
- Uno (I SHIT YOU NOT. Un + o, you are so welcome)
- Unmasked
- Quickbreak
- Spellbreak
- Springbreak
- Sugarwink (this sounds dirty and that’s why it exists. Also saved in my list of names to use)
- Spiritgarden (or like a witch’s garden. If you’re into that)
- Rosegarden
- Beekeeper
- Butterwaffle (Please I swear to god if you name your horse butterwaffle I am obligated to be your friend)
- Candycrush (Please I swear to god if you name your horse Candycrush I am obligated to block you)
- Egg
Names that I COULDN’T DO that need to be shouted at the SSO team for JUSTICE on: [brackets indicate words that we don’t have in those columns]
- [Chicken]nugget
- [Dinosaur]nugget
- [Knock]knock
