The four Sages were called back into the past by Terrako and they remember it happening

Tulin got to meet his hero, Revali, and decided to be just like him, adopting his idol’s brash personality and drive. He practises Revali’s Gale and eventually comes up with his own way to show off his mastery of wind, and when trouble hits his home he rushes to fix it on his own to prove how strong he has become and because, like Revali, he can’t stand idly by while he knows there’s still things he can do.

For Yunobo, when he goes back and meets his ancestor Daruk, he is a very timid and reactive Goron. He needs a push from others to come up with ideas and carry plans through, and when bad things happen to him his first instinct is to use his fire magic as a shield, to wait until the threat has passed by or somebody else has come to save him. But when he is sent back in time to Divine Beast vah Rudania, for the first time he has to be the one doing the saving. Daruk encourages Yunobo and is proud of him from the moment they meet, and it’s this support that gives Yunobo the confidence to help fight against Calamity Ganon, and to start YunoboCo when he gets home.

For Sidon, meeting his family from 100 years ago is bittersweet. He is proud that he was able to protect his sister, and it’s a comfort to know there is a version of him who will grow up alongside Mipha because of his bravery and fighting prowess. But as much joy as he got from seeing her, hugging her, and hearing her voice again, it just reminds him of how unfair her death was, of just how young she was when she died and how he is now older even though he’s the younger sibling. And at the end of the war, when he’s returned to their original time, he has to readjust to her absence all over again, and in light of that is it really a shock he’d have her statue moved further away from his home? And it also explains why he’s so desperate to protect Yona from the sludge.

Riju in AoC still a new ruler to her people, despite her accomplishments in BotW, she still feels guilty over the temporary loss of the Thunder Helm and isn’t sure if she can lead the Gerudo. She has a lot of confidence but is quick to falter when things go wrong. Urbosa treats Riju as a capable fighter despite her young age, and teaches her that she should never give up, to keep trying even when her resolve falters. There is always something you can do, even when it’s just stalling for time until help can arrive. Urbosa guides her in mastering the Thunderhelm, and possibly begins teaching her to summon lightning herself after Kohga attempts to steal it, and at the end of their time together Urbosa tells Riju she’s certain she’ll lead the Gerudo well. Riju treasured her time being mentored by Urbosa so much that she considers what Urbosa would do during the Upheaval in her diary in TotK.

I think the entire reason Tulin was added to the DLC was because the TotK team had already decided that Tulin was going to be the Sage of Wind, and that since the other sages were going to meet their Champions Tulin had to as well.

At some point in the years between Botw and TotK Teba, Tulin, Sidon, Yunobo, Riju and Patricia were summoned back in time by Terrako to aid the Champions during the Calamity, and even though those events took place in a parallel timeline and had no bearing on the world they returned to, the Sages’ personalities at the beginning of TotK are because of their experiences during the Calamity and the bonds they made with the Champions.

I do understand why a fair number of books/shows/etc that deal with the intersection of “the real world” and some fantasy element end up including cops. Cause if you look at the structure of the society, who’s going to ideally come and check out complaints or take care of any serious crime that bleeds into the real world? cops (I don’t think this but it is the expectation of a lot of people where if you got a problem, call the cops).

So yeah, from that perspective, I “get it” but have creators considered 1. Not having copaganda if they gotta have cops at all 2. If you’re including cops cause that’d be “realistic” option, at least also make the behavior of cops realistic (this ties to the first point but whatever) 3. Don’t make corruption in the police force the result of some magic thing. I will kill you for this. 4. There are literally so many other more interesting options than cops. Please. Don’t give a shit about your local law enforcement.

me when Caledonia's concepts first dropped cause i doing a good playthrough: she's good. Probably chaotic good a bleeding heart maybe

Me as I get deeper into dragon lore and white dragons and every headcanon: oh no she's spiteful she's funny she can be mean she can be influenced and persuaded either way, chaotic neutral, easily tipped scale in either way based on who she ends up with during tadpole days, a true blank slate but there is some pre written, likes humor but also vengeful, spite what wrongs her or wrongs you, prideful

Its fun. Honestly. She's silly and very cerebral in thought still. Still friendly. Like.you can't take that out, but like she really does not view certain things on a morality scale.

Doesn't necessarily do evil for evil sake or gain of power. Doesn't necessarily want control, but like if you were a problem to her or someone she liked. You could end up dead. Doesn't necessarily do good or search out to the greatest amount of goodness.

Now she does like faerun as is, so she'll take action to keep things the way they are, or if they disturb the peace of her life or the people, again, that she likes. So good characters will influence her to do things cause well they'd be happy about it. Just as if evil characters, well, yeah the same can be applied.

There is a certain thing about as long as she maintains a sense of control over herself and power in a friendship or relationship; she's fine and will do just about anything. But like she is always affectionate in the same way toward either kind of party.

True Caledonia run if I played the game, if you removed the level system, like she'd skip so much of Act One if she was leading. If she made all the decisions. Like the Grove dies because she doesn't even go to goblin camp. She'd end up at the githyanki cutscene and go straight to creche. Skipping like so much. She'd do the bare minimum of Act Two.

Act Three. It's just immediately like okay. Fuck up orin immediately. Fuck up gortash immediately. She'd try to save as many in iron throne just cause. Boy she doesn't like this thing called cages. Or anyone being captive. Like she's a kill or let go. Take no prisoners.

But like in the end? All of this? Ends up solidifying her true nature as dragon. Causs they don't just do anything without a reason, without usually someone persuading them to this action. She goes after the Dragon Cult cause one guy from it personally wronged her and now it'd all bad, which I mean it is an evil cult, and she doesn't feel beholden to any God.

Its very fun, finding what stays the same, but realizing how flexible Caledonia is to based on literally who she is written against.

But also like there is a whole personal story with her too, and her memories and The Tiefling; who admittedly was doing evil for her father's sake and maybe her own, who did have a major crisis cause she got attach to the captive dragon she's known since she was five; and really the core of Caledonia is tied to; she realized she cared deeply for this tiefling, like a big sister; but she doesn't know what would honor her memory most; and feels survivor's guilt; so she keeps wearing her face cause it is her face now. And if the tiefling couldn't live, then she'll live for her; at least for a little while.

But she doesn't actually know what would truly honor who the tiefling was or what the tiefling would make decisions (which the tiefling would have done evil route but coming from a place of being literally raises this way and in an abusive cycle herself)

And, just I can't wait to write more on the tiefling and drabble of caledonia's memories aprund her years captive, and the tiefling girl talking and caring for her. And the ways in which Caledonia grows to be persuades and manipulated by the tiefling girl in a way and cares / like Caledonia absolutely went on hunger strikes while being chained and kept under a concoction of so many spells and then drained for her dragon blood; and the tiefling girl convinces her to eat.

But like, Caledonia has been so fun write cause she is an exploration of "how influences make a person" I hope this all reads well in my writing and creation, and everyone enjoys the character.

#There is always a feralness to her and unique intelligence #Himbo brain and always be quite humorous and favor characters who are humorous and fun #Especially those who are sneaky #But she also favors people who are straight forward #Wyll can be too much of a matyr and is a pet on a leash (of which cal will think wyll should snap that leash) for her #The sparkler wyll is though the more she likes her #Really it'd astarion and shadowheart who she will get along with but also the hardest? #Cause it is clear they keep their secrets and like their lies and manipulation #Meanwhile laezel is favorable because she is brutal and straight forward and funny #Gale is easily favorable cause well he talks he is funny #Same with karlach for her #Those two are easiest to get along cause they are funny and open (even if they have their own secrets namely gale) #She also thinks karlach and laezel are best cause she could at any time Start play fighting #AAnd they'll headbutt her right back or at least laezel will spar with her right away #Poor gale will have to get used to random cnatrips and ice knifes blast at him cause she wants to play fight now #[ about ] bg3 verse #[ ABOUT ] Who could forget they were a dragon once? #No but she still a young adult dragon so she is HIGHLY influencable #Now she will have character she doesn't like and will always be inclined to get rid of whom she doesn't like #And all of bg3 is her battling with imposter syndrome and identity and feeling a fraud

Still, he gathers his bravery, walking forward in the babbling cafe, the piano inside it crooning to her fingers--something soft, somber, and so, so grey.

Managing to pitter on those chords of soul... "I'm inclined to believe that piece was an original. Still in the works, discovering itself, and all the rawer for it." Right? He looks at her, feeling suddenly several emerging things: first, too daring; then entirely too presumptuous; before last but not least, all sparking nerves. Smiling, though, Gale holds firm, peculating coffee trickling behind them. He walks up to the piano, his own fingers watching her fingers dust the keys. A song of yearning... And maybe ache. I need to start re-pursuing my dream of directing Bartholomew Fair

#it needs to be cut by about two thirds #so I want to keep all the characters I like but some minor ones can go #as can some bad jokes and some unnecessary songs #I think I speak for me personally when I say I don't want to hear Cokes sing a song #or it could be one verse instead of like 8 #also I would cut Act 1 as much as possible to get us to the fair faster #like we've got to meet the Littlewits and Winwife and Quarlous and Wasp and Cokes and Dame Purecraft and Busy #but other than the bare establishing characteristics let's keep it minimal #ask me what accents I would have each character do #I almost wrote my Master's thesis about this play because I also did linguistics in undergrad #and this play is a treasure trove for historical linguistics #it's all about how different types of people talk and explicitly aims to replicate how real people talk (unlike Marlowe or Shakespeare) #it's one of his prose comedies

Just thinking about Marius’ agency in the game

Mainly, that he is determined to hold onto it until the end of his part in the game even when his attempts to not become someone’s tool are thrown back in his face. It also seems like he has to deal with this problem back home too.

Sorta related, I like that all the questions asked to Adol (ie. the player) in this game are more about fleshing out the respective characters rather than the player affecting the character or story through choice. For example, I like the question Marius asks Adol about why he decided to help him because the question is actually made to figure out why Adol helps people on all of his adventures (considering he doesn’t need to do that to enjoy them). When the response doesn’t seem to be what he’s looking for he asks again more directly near the end of the game. He does that because he wants to know how he could apply that answer to his own people, is what I figure.

Anyway, I think it’s interesting that what the player thinks (which might be the case for other games) is an opportunity to express themselves through Adol is often actually more about adding depth to the character or to ground Adol in the narrative.

Stevie never objected to Mika's kisses. They always left her feeling warm and recently feeling things she didn't quite understand. Regardless they were pleasant, enough that she wasn't going to object. Although even if Mika had given her her first kiss, she was more often than not the one to initiate any further ones.

So when his lips met hers after one of their outings outside of the city, Stevie wasn't going to refuse him. Later she couldn't say what influenced her as she never was consciously aware of most romance but in the immediate moment it didn't matter.

The kiss that she returned wasn't quite as innocent as what they had been in the past, her lips parting slightly to feel him just a bit more.

Realization that I never shared my newest OCs from this year, at least on most of my accounts / v \ ) Anyway I got into Genshin Impact since last year, and I'm in it deep enough to make a couple fan characters.

First one is Shuili, older half-sister of my adepti duo. I made her before Candace’s reveal, but her kit was me basically going "If Genshin won't give us a Hydro Claymore or Shielder yet then I'll make one myself--"

The 2nd one is her younger half-brother, Huojin. He's heavily based off the huodou, but is otherwise ur very typical on-field Pyro DPS -- just with a bit of extra utility so he can work off-field too.

Overall, I wanted to wait until I gave both my OCs a proper color test / finalized their designs, but with Genshin's complex art direction, I'll need more time for that. Hopefully I can explore their characters more tho, even outside of Genshin.
