I really like that they made Jor-El speak Kryptonian and Clark unable to understand him. The whole "aliens speak English" thing that happens in every goddamn media has bothered me all my life. Ik sometimes Clark just gets zapped in the brain for insta-second language but that always felt like a cheap shortcut.

Jor-El had a lot on his mind when he set up that magic spaceship okay. The world was ending and he was trying to do as much as he could before time ran out so he could be there for his son. He was rushing. He likely didn't consider Kal would be raised with a whole different language and not know any Kryptonian nor have anyone to teach him.

He's hiding, the half collapsed pillar in an abandoned office building, halfway ruined and completely left to collapse in metropolis.

His core is pulsing, air freezing and eyes not focused.

Metropolis is big and bright.

There is no way they could get him here, not with kryptonian heroes at its beck and call. Danny saw Supergirl save the day, the big blue at her tail, saving civilians.

Danny followed the official daily planet channel and reads along every line Lois Lane and her husband, Clark Kent, write each time, making people aware of problems, and most importantly exposing people.

The rich and corrupted.

So yes, is it frightening? Anxiety filling? Putting trust into complete strangers in hopes they'd uncover the Guys in White if they appear in the city?

For the first few years of his life, Wil-Lyn grows up on the move.

As an infant, he is an adorable cherub of a child – rosy cheeks, star bright eyes, dark tousled curls, and a burbling giggle so deliciously infectious, anyone close enough to hear it smiles. 

His temperament is wonderfully easy on his out-of-depth new parents, and with the vitality granted to him and his mother by the planet's yellow Sun, his age is little issue when travelling.

In fact, the reason for his ,and ergo his family's, frequent travels is multifold. 

As the only one truly familiar with Earth, C.C. is more than excited to bring his family with him on his digs, exploring, sharing, everything the blue planet has to offer. 

Unfortunately, directions to undiscovered digs, especially those involved in the arcane, are decidedly imprecise and they end up chasing down false leads more often than not; bouncing from one country to another. 

Mar Il-Lyn never begrudges her husband his first love of archaeology, but such failures rankle her conquering, military-disciplined spirit and it isn't uncommon for the Batsons to flee early  to flee from a false dig that "mysteriously collapses" after her decidedly shallow well of patience runs dry. 

Another reason is the rate with which Wil-Lyn grows. His inherited Warrior Caste genetics lend to a quickly maturing physique - fine enough motor control to throw things with surprising force and an especially hearty set of lungs that he wields to great effect. 

Mar Il-Lyn had asserted that rapid growth was to be expected for a child born into a line genetically engineered for the most capable of bodies amidst their people, though the intensity of it she attributes to the blessings of their new Sun. 

His intelligence however, does come as a surprise to her, though it is overcome by quicksilver pride for how well Wil-Lyn learns and adapts to his surroundings. 

Testament, she adds, to the great boon her Scientist-equivalent husband has brought to their child, which never fails to make him blush. 

By the time the child is five, he is up to his father's thigh in height, is childishly fluent in at least four languages and knows a smattering of a handful of others besides. 

English and Kryptonian of course, take pride of place, with the self-nicknamed Billy (for the week), gleefully pouncing on whoever dared to mistake his favoured name at the time, bashing them with his stuffed tiger with an absolutely adorable war-cry, chattering childish threats between the two languages with enviable ease. 

"Alright- Billy." C.C. wheezes, still recovering from the now familiar sensation of being winded by a stuffed toy, and picks his son up. "You're mother and I have been talking...and we think it's time for you to go to school, properly."

I think it's funny that people describe Kon as 'a clone of Superman and Lex Luthor'......Because that's impossible. The definition of a clone is:

"an organism or cell, or group of organisms or cells, produced asexually from one ancestor or stock, to which they are genetically identical."

Organism=Kon

Kon≠produced asexually from one ancestor or stock, to which they are genetically identical.

By the biological definition Kon isn't a clone, everyone is just too scared to say that he's the child of Lex Luthor and Superman.

The Jor-El A.I. looked so sad when he realized Clark doesn't understand Kryptonian.

HE DID he was trying so hard to connect to him and explain who he is and Clark just can't understand him and he presumably can't understand Clark either 😭 idk how well the AI can perceive time and emotions etc/how much of Jor-El he is, but he was created for one single purpose and spent years laying dormant waiting and now that Clark is finally here he just,, can't.

And if it's at least in some part Jor-El's consciousness rather than a full emotionless AI that looks like him (since usually it is) that's his SON and they don't even share a language. Kal-El who he loved so much that he did all he did to save him from a dying planet, and he's alive, he really survived, but he was raised by strangers (and bless them for it) on a strange planet with strange customs and now they can't even communicate. Jor-El can't tell him about Krypton, his people and his own family, and he can't ask Clark about how his life has been on earth either. Can't even ask him if he's happy. Clark has no idea where he's really from and no way to find out because the only one who might be able to tell him speaks a language no one on the whole planet can understand.

The sheer loneliness of it is ripping a hole into my heart and I'm not even there.
