25/10/19 Fact or Fiction
Statement #1: Monday Night RAW has been a terrible show for many years. FACT - Raw is up there with The Simpsons as the most zombified show on TV these days, which exists solely for the purpose of existing as it shuffles from one episode to another with nothing ever seeming to matter. There may be the occasional match or angle that does actually deliver, in much the same way there might be the occasional gag in The Simpsons which raises a titter, but most people are watching out of habit than anything else
Statement #2: AEW could beat RAW in head-to-head ratings on a regular basis. FICTION - While Dynamite has been beating NXT on a regular basis, which really seems to be upsetting the WWE Attack Squad who were gleefully predicting record low ratings for the first episode, that's not a good reason to put it up against Raw a month into its existence. The brand needs time to grow, because most of us remember what happened when TNA thought hype alone would be enough to pick up viewers when moving Impact to Monday nights...briefly
Statement #3: Sasha Banks has only been successful in wrestling because of her looks. FICTION - What "success" has Sasha actually had in WWE? Ever since she was moved onto the main roster she's been used as someone to sacrifice so their preferred performers get some heat while padding out their title histories, with Charlotte the most obvious example of this but hardly the only one, as similar can be said for Alexa Bliss and supposedly Nia Jax before injury ruled her out of WM so the TwoConics were given the women's tag belts before being sent out to die on a weekly basis.
Statement #4: You can think of a way to make a weekly 4-hour RAW work. FACT - Yes I can. My idea to make Raw work as a four-hour show can be summed up in a single word: DON'T.
Statement #5: The mainstream legitimacy the WWE so desperately covets is ultimately meaningless in 2019, and proven so by them actually getting it with the FOX TV deal. FICTION - SmackDown being on Fox does not mean that the years of WWE pining "Notice me senpai!!!" for any form of mainstream attention, acknowledgment or acceptance has finally paid off, far from it, all it does is demonstrate that WWE's main programming has a decent enough baseline of viewers to make it a relatively low-risk pick-up for any network in much the same way Big Brother managed to remain on the airwaves in the UK well over a decade after the show stopped getting any form of mainstream attention as a reliable baseline of viewers is enough for advertisers and, therefore, networks

29/7/18 Fact or Fiction
1. How excited聽are you for the WWE鈥檚 Evolution PPV? I'll start at 10/10, and reduce my score by one every time a variation on the phrase "Making history" is trotted out for branding purposes as opposed to, say, actually booking matches for the show. I believe my current interest would be -2603/10...
2. Smackdown running a mini-tag team tournament is a good idea. FACT - Mini-tournaments always make for good TV, as not only does it guarantee matches with purpose as opposed to wrestling for the sake of wrestling, by adding actual stakes to matches it also offers the chance to have storylines for the teams who didn't win the tournament
3. WWE will introduce Women鈥檚 Tag Team Titles by The End of 2018. FACT - Not only would this tie in to WWE's current mania for creating at least two new titles per year, but unlike in previous years where the entire division was the Bella Twins and/or Funkadactyls, there's the basis for an actual division with the TwoConics, Riott Squad, whatever we're calling the former Absolution these days...and the inevitability that the Sasha/Bayley team will be inaugural champions because their losing the titles is what will be the spark that will ignite their feud that's been going since January
4. Hulk Hogan really has no place in current day WWE. FACT - Hogan's had no place in WWE since 2005, as that's the year where his mugging to the crowd at WM21 for so long saw various matches having their time allocations cut, followed by Hogan being Hogan which led to the glorious trainwreck that was his match with HBK at that year's SummerSlam. As it was obvious then that the only thing Hogan was interested in helping was his own ego, and he sure as hell hasn't changed at any point in the thirteen years since, there's no place for an egotist whose sole interest is putting himself over at everyone else's expense.
5. The crowd will again rebel on Reigns vs. Lesnar at Summerslam. FACT - The best case scenario is the match gets drowned out in "We want Strowman chants" throughout, and the worst case scenario doesn't bear thinking about.
6. Steve Austin spoke about the concept of managers in wrestling and that they should still have a [bigger] presence. He is right. FACT - While managers aren't an automatic boost for a wrestler, for example Paul Heyman couldn't make Ryback or Curtis Axel relevant no matter how hard he tried, when there's the right combination of wrestler and manager it elevates their act to new levels, with the most obvious recent examples being Paul Heyman carrying 80% of Lesnar's feuds due to Brock not bothering to show up, Lana adding an extra layer of heat to Rusev during his debut monster push, or Zelina Vega adding so much to Andrade Almas' act that he turned from somebody floundering in NXT's midcard to a legit contender at the top of the card practically overnight.

6/5/18 Fact or Fiction
1. Shinsuke Nakamura will win the WWE Title at WWE Backlash. FACT - Any booker with an ounce of common sense (bad start, I know...) would be fully aware that if they want to cement a newly-turned heel's spot further up the card than when they were they need to win their first few feuds to make the transition complete, which means that Nakamura has to beat AJ to cement his status - and I'll go on and guess that Nakaura wins after hitting the Dikkupanchi to counter out of a Styles Clash attempt.
2. Neither women鈥檚 titles will change hands at WWE Backlash. FACT - Carmella won't be dropping the title as the likely scenario is they're setting her up to get merked into oblivion by Asuka so she'll be retaining with more than a little help from the TwoConics, while Jax's babyface run that nobody asked for is probably going to continue until the next time they need to have someone slay the giant - and given her babyface status that nobody wanted, that likely means several more tedious Nia Jax matches until it's Ronda Rousey who is booked to overcome the giant.
3. Roman Reigns will defeat Samoa Joe at WWE Backlash. FACT - He shouldn't, considering Joe's been outshining him so badly during this feud it's not funny (okay, it's a little funny) so just chucking him under the Reigns bus is a dumb choice to make, but this is WWE we're talking about here so the efforts to rebuild Roman for yet another headline run starts here. Happy happy joy joy...
4. Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens will defeat Lashley & Strowman at WWE Backlash. FICTION - Someday in the distant future WWE might realise that having strong on their roster is a good thing, and the Owens & Sami pairing are exactly the heel act they need to pull the trigger on as they routinely deliver in the ring and on the mic, yet what have they got for it? A bunch of high profile losses, and another one's right around the corner.
5. Big Cass will defeat Daniel Bryan at WWE Backlash. FACT - The match is so obviously there to further the AmDrag/Miz feud, meaning that Miz interferes to cost him the match and we'll likely get the customary post-match beatdown.
6. What is your excitement level for WWE Backlash. 6/10 - Ending the single-branded PPVs means the card's a lot more streamlined and has a good combination of title matches and major feuds with little to no filler, and that actually makes the card seem much more appealing on paper. Funny how that works, eh?

29/4/18 Fact or Fiction
1. You want to see Hulk Hogan back in WWE. FICTION - There's a quite simple reason I don't want to see Hogan back, and it's because I have no desire to see him standing in the ring hogging the spotlight for at least ten minutes per show with his usual shtick that offers nothing whatsoever to the show but plenty to Hogan's ego and bank balance. WWE has far too many people hogging the finite amount of time their shows have as it is, so there's no reason to compound the problem by adding somebody else who does the exact same thing.
2. Setting Ronda Rousey up to work with veterans Mickie James and Natalya on the main roster is a smart idea to continue her evolution as a wrestler. FACT - It's hardly the first example of somebody being paired up with what's essentially a player coach in the ring, after all just look at the New Japan undercard to see another example, so really the only reason this question exists is because it's Ronda Rousey working with Mickie and Natalya instead of, say, Velveteen Dream.
3. You have no problem with WWE running a major event in a country that doesn鈥檛 allow the women to perform. FICTION - The obvious problem is that WWE have spent the last couple of years devoting a lot of time, money and effort into presenting the company as being at the forefront of women's equality - but as soon as the Saudis flash some cash in their direction they were quick to say "Screw the women, give us the money" which, for a company so ludicrously paranoid abouts its PR image, is an own goal on a par with Jamie Pollock's masterpiece against QPR back in 1998 while also leaving the company open to questions about which other members of the roster they'd be happy to sell out if someone offered them cash up front.
4. WWE will introduce women鈥檚 tag team titles by the end of 2018. FICTION - While there's almost the basis of a division with the TwoConics, Riott聽Squad and Absolution, that's still just three teams across two rosters so the division would get stale pretty damn quick if it was just the three trading wins all the time.
5. Considering their history, Miz vs. Daniel Bryan could be WWE鈥橲 feud of the year by a long margin. FICTION - While there's little doubt that the two of them have the potential to deliver a great feud, to the point they could probably overcome whichever booking snafu happens partway through that leaves everyone scratching their heads, Gargano/Ciampa has set the standard for WWE feuds this year and it would take a Herculean effort to top that.
6. Combining the videos on Raw and the one-hour documentary, WWE did a good job of paying tribute to the late Bruno Sammartino. FACT - WWE did a great job paying tribute to Sammartino as they showed him the respect he earned countless times over in a way that engaged with both the fans watched him when he was at his peak or even fans who were well aware of what he accomplished during his career, but also letting fans who maybe didn't know about Bruno understand just how important he is not only to the company's history but to wrestling history itself.
