Nikolai Lantsov is the young King of Camelot who has always lived in the shadow of his father and older brother, but with dreams of a better kingdom and a better world. He is dedicated to his people above all else, and will do whatever necessary to protect them.

Alina Starkov, the fabled grisha magician and Sun Summoner, has aligned herself with King Nikolai in his quest to rid the world of darkness and protect the people of Camelot.

Aleksander Morozova, a dark magician with power to rival Alina herself, seeks revenge and what he sees as his rightful place on the throne of Camelot. He demands retribution from the entire Lantsov line, and Nikolai and Alina are currently the only things standing in his way.
