the seasons are changing and so are we - tyler seguin
a fight threatens your relationship with Tyler, until a sunset boat ride changes everything
pairing: tyler seguin x reader
warnings: angst, alcohol, boats, mentions of marriage, shelb projecting (when am i not?)
word count: 2.3k
a/n: inspired by my own september long weekend with two black labs and some white claws. thanks as always to @antoineroussel for making sure it's coherent and a special shout out to @hotanddistraught for telling me i'm sick <3
Tumblr media
“Those things are disgusting.”
They’re the first words Tyler has spoken to you all morning, since you woke up all alone in the spare room of the cottage. The first words spoken without vitriol since the screaming match yesterday, really.
It had started innocently enough—a mention of how you didn’t want this summer to end during the drive up to Muskoka—that had somehow devolved into you silently crying in the passenger seat with Gerry in your lap trying to lick the salt from your face and the other two’s wet noses poking at you from the backseat.
When he’d finally pulled into the long driveway of the ostentatious cottage, you’d all but leaped from the still moving vehicle without so much as making an attempt to help with the bags or the dogs.
Supper had gone similarly—chock full of your silence and malicious noncompliance as you left him to suffer through not only grilling but preparing a side dish, too.
And then you’d stubbornly side stepped his outstretched hand offering to take you to bed, choosing to spend the night alone in the spare room.
You spent the entire night reliving the argument in your head, wondering how your wistful expression that you wished the summer would never end translated into unhappiness and a desire to leave the sincerest, most fulfilling relationship you’d ever known in Tyler’s eyes. Tossing and turning, you couldn't escape the way you felt in that passenger seat, the hurt and the anxiety intermingling with the fear that it was all slipping through your fingers.
Fear that somehow turned into anger, a fire lighting within you that he’d taken your words and twisted them until they were unrecognizable before throwing them right back in your face.
Which led you here, cracking a hard seltzer at nine o'clock in the morning which was clearly offensive to your boyfriend who looked on with a disapproving stare.
“Really?” you raise an eyebrow at him. “Is critiquing my drink choice your idea of an apology?”
He brushes past you as easily as he brushes past your words, reaching into the fridge for the orange juice and taking a giant gulp straight from the bottle. You barely suppress a grimace as he wipes his mouth with the back of his hand, his chest tattoos and abs on full display. If you weren’t still so mad you probably would have made a joke about it, but, as it stands, you can barely stomach being in the same room. Especially since he seems content to ignore the issue.
“We should go out on the boat today,” he says, proving your unspoken point. The B word gets the dogs going and you use the moments Tyler is shushing them to school your features.
“Are you joking?” The hurt is present in your voice and written clearly across your face. Tyler winces at the sharp sound.
He says your name softly, and though it’s normally one of your favorite sounds, it does nothing to temper your mood or your outrage this time.
Swallowing the lump in your throat, you speak, “I’m not going to just let you sweep this under the rug with a fucking boat ride, Tyler.”
He kind of pauses, then. Almost like he hadn’t expected your outburst. “I’m not—I’m not trying to sweep anything under the rug. I just don’t know what to say.”
All efforts at controlling yourself fly directly out of the window at his words. You slam the now empty can on the counter and grip your forehead in frustration. “You don’t know what to say? How about start with an apology and then let’s talk about how an innocent comment turned into all out war on the fucking highway.”
“I’m sorry—”
He’s the gasoline and you’re the slow building fire that started last night under the itchy covers of the spare room. “Well now it doesn’t mean shit because I had to tell you to do it! So what’s the real fucking issue here huh? I’ve given you everything I've got, Ty, it’s gotta be enough.” You’re referring to his heated comments yesterday, where he’d implied maybe this wasn’t working anymore.
“It is! It’s enough. God, baby, it’s more than enough. It’s not you it’s me—” You give him an exasperated look, all but ready to push past him and grab your bags, ready to take your chances hitchhiking back to the city. “I didn’t mean it like that. You’re perfect and you’re everything and I’m just some idiot hockey player with a no good hip, past his prime. You could have anyone you wanted-“
“You, Ty. I want you.” It’s honest and earnest, and you’re still fucking mad at him, but you love him, too.
“I can’t give you stability, I can't promise you I'll be home for supper every night. Hell, I can't even give you an entire summer at home. You’ll never be first, hockey will always be at least tied-”
“Do you think I don't know that? Tyler, we've been together for three years, I’m very aware of the limitations of your career. And I love your passion and your drive and your resiliency. I love you and the boys and the life we’re building.”
“I know and I am sorry. So sorry, baby. I let my insecurity get the best of me.
“If anyone should be insecure it’s me—have you looked in a mirror lately? Or read your instagram DMs?” You’re joking, and the sound of your laugh calms him, soothes his soul, reassures him it’s safe to step into your space and steal a kiss.
“Don’t need ‘em,” he says. “Got you.”
You lean into his embrace for a minute, fully giving into the love he so willingly offers before you break the spell briefly. Curving your hands alongside his jaw, you brush your thumb over the stubble on his cheek. “You gotta promise to talk to me, Ty. I can't read your mind and I can’t help when I don't know what's wrong. It’s not fair to either of us to hold it all in until you snap.”
“Promise.”
“Okay, I promise, too.” You kiss him quickly, before giving him a little love tap on the cheek. “Now go get the boat ready. I’m going to fill the cooler with beer and my disgusting drinks.”
It’s a good morning on the boat—the perfect juxtaposition between the cool breeze as you cruise the lake and the gentle warmth of the sun as you drop anchor and Tyler tries (and fails) to catch fish for supper. Despite his earlier teasing, you find him more often with your drinks in his hand than his own, but he just gives you that stupid grin of his when you try to say something.
Marshall and Cash lounge away on a bench seat, content to soak in the sun rays while their brother alternates between trying to jump on your and Ty’s laps and lounging at the front of the boat where the water crests over the bow. Your Insta stories consist of a short video of the boat cutting through calm waves, a shot of the cold drink in your hand, and one of Marshall looking away from the camera. Tyler reposts each one—every story slightly tilted in the way that all hockey players do when reposting on Insta.
Without the tension hanging over your head any longer, the good mood continues back at the cottage. You giggle and laugh through making supper, feeding the boys more than their fair share through meal prep before lounging on the back deck to enjoy your meals.
The boys don’t get the invitation to climb up onto the bed until long after Tyler’s made your toes curl and your eyes roll to the back of your bed.
Truth be told, the next morning you’re not quite sure how any other day of the long weekend could possibly hope to compare to the complete 180 of the day before. Until you’re woken with a kiss and the smell of caffeine and waffles. The waffles turn out to be just eggos, but he gets a solid A for effort, if only because he’s made you a cup of your favorite warm drink exactly how you like it.
The morning fades into early afternoon as you lounge outside with your boys, your book in one hand and a cold drink in the other while Tyler runs around after the dogs, checking in every now and then like a toddler. “Did you see that babe?” and “what about that babe?” and “look at Gerry, babe!”
The sun is warm on your face, and you’re content to soak it all up while focusing most of your attention on your book. Only most of your attention, because Tyler is running around without his shirt on and there may have been a time or two where you had to read the same page several times over until it stuck. You’re just finishing a chapter when your sunlight goes dark, mere seconds before your boyfriend is tucking your bookmark to mark your page and tossing the book to the side and covering your body with his.
“You, me, shower then boat. Whaddya say?” He wiggles his eyebrows suggestively and you nearly choke on your own spit before letting out a sharp laugh.
The shower is short and quick, less handsy than maybe you were expecting until he slides behind your naked body, gripping and holding your bare skin as you apply hair products in the mirror.
“Wear that sundress I like,” he suggests, nipping at the skin of your shoulder and dancing out of the bathroom before you can get out so much as a confused ‘okay?’
Undoing the knots holding the boat to the dock is a tad harder than you remember it being while your movements are slightly more restricted in the dress you’re wearing, but you manage to get it done while Tyler starts up the boat.
Getting on the thing itself is a little harder after you’ve pushed it off the dock a little, what with the yellow lab laying directly in front of the door.
“Move it, Ger,” Tyler says, pushing his youngest back to give you room to hop onto the boat. “Let mom get on board.”
You preen under the sound of his voice, your stomach warming the way it always does when he calls you the dogs’ mom. Grabbing Tyler’s hand, you thank him quietly and have a seat beside Cash in the tiny bit of space not occupied by the large dog.
When you get out further on the open water, you grab a drink from the cooler at your feet and relax further into the seat, head tilting back to try and catch some of the breeze.
“This is nice, Ty,” you tell him contentedly before taking a sip of your drink.
He doesn’t drive much further, finding a little bay and dropping the anchor before shutting off the boat’s engine.
You look out at the water, admiring the way it reflects the sun that’s beginning to set. He moves until he’s stood at your back, caging you in his arms. He kisses your bare shoulder and then your neck and then your cheek. “I love you.”
You sigh again, relaxing further into his embrace and leaning your head back against his shoulder. “I love you too. I can’t believe I really thought you were going to break up with me.”
He kisses your shoulder once more before backing off entirely, and you find yourself missing the warmth even though the early September air isn’t exactly cool yet. A minute or two pass before he speaks, “Well, I don’t really wanna call you my girlfriend anymore.”
You’re confused, a little bit of that earlier hurt finding its way back into your heart and brows furrowing as you spin around, only to pause in your motions with a gasp caught in your throat.
“There’s something else I’d rather call you if you let me.” Tyler’s on one knee, holding an open ring box and you’re sure it’s a lovely ring but all you can see is that stupid smile on his face and all you can feel is just how much you love this guy. In this moment, every single stupid fight you’ve ever had is inconsequential, utterly unimportant except for the fact that they’ve all brought you forward to this place, this moment, this feeling.
He starts to launch into some clearly rehearsed speech, and you wonder how long he’s been planning this if for no other reason than all three dogs are perfectly quiet and well behaved despite their dad at ground level which would ordinarily send Gerry into a licking fit.
And it’s all just so crazy, so ridiculous that you say “No.”
“No?” He looks a little nauseous, that same look on his face from yesterday where it’s like he couldn’t comprehend your response crossing his face.
It’s not what you mean, not at all actually, the exact opposite, really, and so you quickly fire back “No because yes.”
“Yes?” he asks, somehow like he can’t believe it and yet like it’s the exact answer he was expecting.
You’re crying now, a hand clasped firmly over your mouth, and the other reaching for him as you nod fervently, “Yes!”
“She said yes!” he shouts, popping up and pulling you into his body. Shouting comes from all around you, flash photography nearly blinding you as a dozen of your closest family and friends reveal themselves on nearby boats. The dogs finally lose their cool, barking and jumping and you honestly could not care less about the chaos.
Not with Tyler sliding a ring on your finger and his tongue in your mouth in an earth shattering kiss, the promise of forever with him on his lips.

family man , tyler seguin
note, how did i come up with this idea? i got a tiktok on my fyp, an edit of ty from his gq interview. we all know the one. pair, tyler seguin x reader summary, the five times tyler gushed about his family to the media. warnings, children/kids, mentions of murder (jokingly) word count, 2098 words
Tumblr media
(gif not mine)
Tyler was a proud guy and he loved talking about his family at any chance he could. If prompted, he would proceed to gush, and even un-prompted he would gush about you and Rosie.
one. postgame, september 2017
Tyler was getting ready to leave for the arena. He really want to have you there with him but Rosie was still too small, so you settled for watching it on TV.
He kept, longingly, looking back at you and Rosie as he tied his tie, "Stop. Just get ready." You laughed, throwing something at him.
"Hey, violence!" He shouted.
You shook your head as you rocked Rosie. He eventually was ready and opened his arms. You placed Rosie in his arms and he smiled, "Goodbye, Roro. Be good for mom. Promise?"
He held out his pinky, which Rosie wrapped her tiny little hand around, "Good." He smiled and kissed her head.
He stared down at her for a few more minutes, not wanting to leave or let go, "You gotta go, Ty."
"No." He shook his head, "Wanna stay."
"I know." You frowned, "But you have you." He sighed but relented.
He grabbed his stuff and you followed him to the door. He slung his bag over his shoulder and turned around you both and looked so sad you almost didn't want to send him away.
"We love you." You told him, leaning up and kissing his cheek.
"Love you, too." He kissed you. He then leaned down and kissed Rosie's head, "And I love you, too, sweet girl."
You watched from the comfort of your couch, dogs laying all around you, sporting your Seguin jerseys, Rosie wearing one of her own but it being a little too big on her.
"Stars Fans, this summer, our very own Tyler Seguin and his girlfriend Y/N welcomed a new family member to their clan. Please put your hands together and welcome Rosie to the Stars family." The arena erupted in cheers, from both sides.
You smiled, moving Rosie so she could see the screen. On the jumbotron, a photo taken after Rosie was born flashed up onto the big screen. It was after you got home from the hospital. His mom had taken it.
The camera flashed down to Tyler who flashed a teary smile to the fans. He nodded appreciatively and waved a hand. Fans on the other side banged their sticks against the side of the wall.
After the game, Tyler knew most, if not all, questions would be about Rosie and he was pumped.
"So, Tyler, tell us…" Right off the bat, Tyler knew exactly where the question was going, "How's dad-life?"
"Oh, man, I was waiting for this one." He got laughs, "It's the best thing in the entire world.
"You have a daughter, correct?"
"Yeah, Rosie."
"Is Rosie best friends with the dogs?"
"Oh, for sure. Before she was even born, they were the ones standing guard next to Y/N, my girlfriend." A smile found its way onto his face when he said the word 'girlfriend'.
“And is Rosie a daddy’s girl yet?”
“She’s a doggy’s girl.” He laughed, “They’re best friends.”
“That’s so sweet.”
two. home interview, june 2018
Home interviews weren't something done too often, but Tyler was asked and he accepted. So, you cleaned your house to the Gods, even when Tyler assured you people wouldn't judge you on the appearance of your house.
You ignored him.
While Tyler sat in the backyard, Gerry sitting at his feet with the interviewer, you were in the little playroom with Rosie, attempting to entertain her.
"Dada." She whined.
"I know, I'm sorry. Daddy's busy." You cooed, rocking her back and forth, trying to avoid a meltdown.
"Dada." Marshall and Cash tried to soothe her but even they couldn't help.
She kept crying as you tried to soothe her, bouncing her up and down and running a hand up and down her back. She pointed up, "You want to go upstairs?" She nodded.
You held her hands and helped her up the stairs and helped her walk into the kitchen. Her eyes went wide when she saw all the camera equipment sitting in the living room.
You opened the fridge and looked down at her, "Do you want a snack, Roro?" She nodded, and you picked her up, pointing to the different food sitting in the fridge.
She pointed to the container of strawberries, "Berry." She pointed.
"Good choice." You pulled out the strawberries and set her on the ground so she could play with the dogs. While you were cleaning and cutting the strawberries, she waddled over to the backyard door.
"Do you guys have any special game-day rituals?" The interviewer asked. The questions before had been a bit more hard-hitting, so a fun question in between was a nice change of pace.
Tyler laughed, "Yeah, we do. It's different between each game. Before home games, all three of us have a special little ritual, which I won't share because it's our special thing." The interviewer nodded, understandingly.
"But at all the home games they come to, we have our ritual up by the glass."
"And what's that?"
"I'm sure we all know what it is because it's been posted everywhere on social media, but we blow each other kisses through the glass. It's our thing." He shrugged.
"And is it different for away games?"
"Yeah, we do our goodbye ritual before I leave, but before each game, I usually Facetime them, just to see them. So, that's usually our only game-day rituals." The interviewer smiled.
Gerry's head popped up and he looked over at Rosie. Tyler out of the corner of his eye spotted Rosie. She grinned and waved. He waved, gesturing for her to come over.
She waddled over and raised her arms, "Up." She demanded, and Tyler picked her up, setting her in his lap.
She had yet to see the interviewer, but when she did, she got shy and huddled further into Tyler, "Speak of the princess, and she shall appear." Tyler joked.
"What's your name?" The man asked.
"Rosie Juliet Seguin." She stated, making Tyler smile proudly.
"Well, it's very nice to meet you, Rosie." The man smiled, holding out his hand. She reached out and shook it, "So, Rosie, do you like watching your dad play hockey?"
"Sticks?" She asked.
"Yeah." Tyler nodded.
"Yeah!" She cheered.
"What's your favorite part about going to dad's games?"
"Unke Rope."
"Her favorite part is seeing Uncle Roope." Tyler translated.
The interviewer nodded with a laugh. Rosie looked over to the backyard door and saw you standing there. You raised a brow but she only burrowed herself further into her father's arms. You sighed, shaking your head but letting her win this battle.
three. podcast interview, august 2019
"So, tell me, now that all the work questions are out of the way, let's get down to the fun ones. Congrats, I saw you got married last month." Ally, the interviewer smiled.
"Yes, thank you." Tyler nodded.
"I might've shed a few tears while watching your wedding video." She admitted, "Especially when Rosie walked down the aisle."
"Oh, you and me both." Tyler laughed.
"And when the dogs walked down the aisle." She looked down at her notes, "I know there are so many different moments to pick from, but which one is your favorite?"
"I have two." He stated, "The first one is definitely seeing Rosie for the first time. We had a special first look with me and her, so seeing her the first time was special."
"That's so cute."
"It was, I think it's in the wedding video, but it was my favorite moment I got to share with her. She was so excited too. She picked out her dress and the entire night she gushed about how excited she was to get her makeup done and get her hair done up all special." He gushed.
"Awh." Ally smiled.
"And my other favorite moment was after the ceremony before the reception, Y/N and I, we just sat in a room in the reception hall while guests were arriving, just sitting there. We were eating a bag of goldfish and I think then it was finally settling in that we were actually married."
Ally nodded with a laugh, "That might be universal."
"Did that happen with you too?"
"Yeah, after I got married, we were sitting in the car, my husband and I, and we were literally just sitting there and it was finally sinking in. It was crazy."
"It was surreal, that's for sure."
"Well send my congratulations to the Missus, and tell her she looked absolutely gorgeous."
"I let her know that every day." He flashed his goofy grin.
four. gq tattoo tour, february 2020
"I'm Tyler Seguin, and this is my tattoo tour." He slammed the clapperboard.
He got through all the tattoos on his arms and his right chest, as he called it, before stopping at the tattoo on his right ribcage. It was Rosie's name in cursive. It was simple but it meant so much to you and Tyler.
"This tattoo is special to me because my wife and I got matching tattoos. We both got our daughter's name tattooed, but her's is on her forearm."
He ran his hand over the lettering, "I tossed up a few ideas, but the only idea that stuck with her was this one, so here we are." He nodded.
"I, of course, have my wedding band tattoo." He flashed the tattooed wedding band etched into the skin of his left ring finger, "It has both of our initials and our wedding date." He explained.
"I can't wear my ring on the ice, so this is the next best thing I have." He shrugged.
"Any more?" The person behind the camera asked.
"Yeah, I have one I have yet to tell my wife about, so sorry honey." He looked into the camera with a laugh, "I recently got this one while on the road." Below Rosie's name was 6 delicate small hearts.
"All 6 hearts represent our family. So one for me, one for Y/N, one for Rosie, and the other three are the dogs." He laughed.
The GQ interview came out, and you watched it, learning about the new tattoo on his ribcage. You found him in the basement playroom, "Let me see it." You demanded.
"See what?"
"You know what." He lifted up his shirt, letting you see the tiny hearts, "Oh, Ty." You cooed.
"What? Is it bad? Do you not like it?" He panicked.
"No, no, I love it. It's sweet." You smiled, kissing his cheek.
five. interview, june 2020
"So, Tyler…" The interviewer began, "There have been some rumors flying around, and I've had many people send me messages asking me to ask you this question."
"Oh, boy." He laughed.
"Before this question gets taken the wrong way because that's the last thing I want to do is insult you or your wife, but are you expecting?" The man asked.
Tyler smiled, "Oh, man, she's gonna be so upset with me. But yeah, baby Seguin is coming sometime of next year." He beamed.
"Well, you heard it here first, friends. Baby Seguin number 2 is coming soon." The interviewer clapped.
"Thank you, thank you."
"Congrats, and send my congrats to the Missus."
"I will if she doesn't kill me first." He laughed.
The next day, Tyler awoke to messages from friends, family, and everyone else in his life, to articles of different titles, but they all said similar things.
"TYLER SEGUIN AND WIFE EXPECTING BABY NUMBER 2"
"TYLER SEGUIN BREAKS NEWS: BABY NUMBER 2 COMING NEXT YEAR"
"TYLER SEGUIN MIGHT BE DEAD AFTER BREAKING NEWS OF BABY NUMBER 2"
He decided to take to Twitter to send out a message because there were a few messages, concerned you had in fact murdered him.
tseguinofficial: Yes, baby number 2 is coming, and thank you o the people who reached out to make sure I was still alive. Thank you for all your kind messages.

If you are taking requests.....can I request anything soft and fluffy with Oleksiak or Seguin helping the reader with depressive episode?
Better Days - Jamie Oleksiak x fem!reader x Tyler Seguin
Tumblr media Tumblr media
WC: .7k
Y/N was exhausted, and both Jamie and Tyler being gone didn't help. Sleep was difficult to come by since the playoffs started but definitely with Seattle and Dallas playing each other for a Western Conference Final spot.
Y/N was torn for a multitude of reasons but the biggest one was leaving the house. Her meltdowns and random irritations made being there for both boys hard.
Why am I not strong enough to get up and go see them at the game? None of the other Better Halves struggle like this, they show up and out. Their minds didn't hate them so much that getting out of bed was the hardest thing all day.
She hadn't slept or left the house in weeks, and basic things like bathing and eating were Herculean efforts, and more times then not getting in the shower didn't happen.
She missed them both, but she couldn't call them. Too much was at stake for them, Jamie on a new team making it to playoffs and Tyler making a deep run with the Stars.
I’m only one call away, Superman got nothing on me
Her phone basically stayed attached to the charger unless Y/N was listening to music to fall asleep to. Her laundry was reaching a critical mass and the smell was overwhelming. Even being awake was too overwhelming some days.
Maybe I'll feel better tomorrow...
Y/N let the phone ring, body finally shutting down for sleep.
The door opens and Jamie walks in to find his (and Tyler's) girlfriend fast asleep and distraught in her sleep.
"You take care of us, so let us take care of you, baby. I'll call Tyler and do your laundry. Don't worry, we'll make up for lost time."
"Segs. She's not doing good, found her asleep in her apartment and everything is a mess. I need your help."
"Rig, I'm on my way. Anything for both of you. I'll grab food too. How did we miss this? Y/N, baby we're gonna make sure you're ok. Ok?" Tyler's voice gets soft as he hangs up the phone.
Jamie starts doing Y/N's laundry, sorting out clothes and in-between loads finding out what food was there.
The door swings open and Jamie hears Tyler's footsteps before feeling him bump into Jamie.
"Is babydoll still sleeping? I've got food and some stuff. Soap, laundry detergent, new pjs."
"Out cold, couldn't even get her blanket off her. I checked her temperature and it seems normal. You can go and try to wake her. Ty?"
"Yeah, Jame?"
"You have a plan? I don't think she's going to without a fight. Or without help." Tyler nods, setting his haul down.
"I'll carry her to the bathroom and you'll start the bath. She needs both of us right now. You think the laundry will finish by then?" Jamie drops the last load of laundry in, adds detergent and gets it running.
"Let's go take care of her."
Y/N wakes up to the smell of lavender and arms around her.
"Mmm hi? Aren't y'all supposed to be with the team?"
"Baby, you weren't picking up. Nobody could reach you. We had to use our keys, why didn't you tell us things were getting bad?"
"You both were so busy and I didn't want to be a burden or too much. You both have been working so hard and I didn't want to bog you down with my problems."
Tyler presses a kiss to Y/N's forehead and Jamie pulls her into his chest.
"You are our baby, our partner. Taking care of you is never a burden. We will love you even when things feel hard. Ty and I will make sure you know we love you every day."
The night wanes on with both boys helping you finish your bath, Tyler scrubbing Y/N's arms and Jamie washing her hair.
The bed is heavy with Tyler pressing your neck to his shoulders and Jamie spooning you from the back.
Everyday isn't perfect, but with both of them loving you, it's at least better even when the dark days arrive.

For the birthday prompts
Can I have #12 and Seguin?
Thanks for requesting this one for Tyler! I had a lot of fun with it, so I hope you enjoy it.
“Yeah, well, if you weren’t so drunk maybe I would.”
Words: 918
*
“I can only apologise.”
You blearily glanced over the slumped figure of your boyfriend Tyler leaning heavily into Pavs’s body and sighed softly. You’d known Tyler was going out with some buddies from the team tonight but you hadn’t expected him to turn up quite in this state.
“How did he get this bad?” you mused.
“I’m not sure,” Pavs grimaced, “It might have had some to do with trying to keep up with the Finns shot for shot.”
Ouch, yeah, that’ll do it.
“Esa and Jani should know better,” you winced.
“As should Miro. Roope and Kivi are in just as bad shape as Ty though, so I’ve left them to do with that terrible duo,” Pavs laughed.
“Better them than you,” you mused, “Thanks for bringing him home in one piece.”
“No problem. Need any help getting him upstairs?”
Actually that wasn’t a bad idea. While you could slowly heave Tyler upstairs to bed by yourself – it wouldn’t be the first time – Pavs could easily do it quicker and with less bruising than you. So with a nod, you stepped aside, letting Pavs and your drunken boyfriend into the house, shutting the door behind them.
“Oh hey! We’re home! Hey baby!”
Well that was one hell of a slur.
“Hey Tyler. Did you have a good night?” you mused.
Pavs just snickered as Tyler stumbled to kick his shoes off, just supporting his teammate as best as he could, before Tyler slumped into him again. Bless Joe Pavelski and his constant ability to be unphased. You tucked the shoes off to the side of the hallway, nodding to Pavs as Tyler started mumbling stories about the night, the three of you carefully making your way up the stairs. You were right in thinking that Pavs was far more capable than you to carry him, and in no time at all Tyler was sitting on the edge of the bed, looking mildly surprised at the change in location but pleased all the same.
“Thanks for you help. I’ve got it from here,” you said
“Any time. Everyone needs to blow off steam sometimes, hey?” Pavs shrugged, still smiling.
He wasn’t wrong there.
“I’ll be back in a second, Ty, okay? Just going to see Pavs out and get you some water,” you said.
“I will be right here,” Tyler nodded seriously.
Pavs just laughed as you smiled fondly, the two of you leaving Tyler in the bedroom to head back downstairs.
“Call me if you need anything, okay?” Pavs said, pausing the front doorway.
“Will do,” you nodded, smiling, “Drive safe!”
Seriously, bless that man. Waving goodbye to your boyfriend’s teammate, you quickly grabbed a bottle of water before jogging back upstairs, finding Tyler in the exact same spot that you left him.
“See, I’m still right here, just as I said!” Tyler said triumphantly.
“Good job,” you teased.
Tyler just grinned up at you, making you laugh.
“Time for bed?” he asked.
“Time for bed.”
You helped him out of his jeans, socks, and shirt, leaving him in just a plain white t-shirt and his underwear, tossing the clothes to the side of the room to deal with in the morning. Yeah, that was definitely a morning problem.
“Okay up we go,” you mused, steadying him as he swung his legs around up onto the bed properly, having pulled the duvet down just far enough for him to tuck his legs under it.
Step by step, you were getting there.
“Come on, gimme a kiss goodnight,” Tyler slurred, “Please baby?”
Please baby?
His sweet words nearly had you caving, but somehow you managed to hold yourself firm, shaking your head fondly.
“Yeah, well, if you weren’t so drunk maybe I would.”
Tyler groaned, flopping back into the pillows, only succeeding in making you laugh as you pulled the duvet up to cover his chest.
“Not even a little kiss?” he pouted.
You laughed again, this time softer, but acquiesced to his request – you could give him that much at least. Leaning down, you pressed a gentle kiss…to his forehead. Tyler let out a huff but made no move to sit up to claim a proper kiss as you stood upright yourself.
“That’s not what I meant,” he grumbled.
“I can smell the rum from here, Ty. Try again after you brush your teeth in the morning,” you grinned.
“So mean to me!” Tyler protested, although his laughter let you know he wasn’t actually mad.
“Extra kisses in the morning, I promise,” you shrugged, still smiling down at him.
Tyler paused to consider your words briefly, before nodding. “Okay, deal.”
“Atta boy,” you snickered.
Lord help him with that impending hangover.
He just smiled sweetly up at you, eyes glassy and half-lidded with sleep, filling your chest with the familiar warmth you always felt when he looked at you. You couldn’t stop yourself from reaching a hand out to brush your fingers over his unruly curls, Tyler leaning into your touch with a happy sigh. Too cute. Far too cute for how drunk he is.
“Wait, you’re still sleeping in here though, right?” Tyler asked, frowning as you removed your hand.
“Yeah baby, I’m not relegating myself to the guest room just because you smell like a distillery,” you mused.
In his floating drunken state, the teasing had absolutely no effect on him, and he just beamed up at you obliviously.
“Good,” he said happily, “I will be on my best behaviour, I promise.”
Bless his heart.

Let’s Play A Game - Tyler Seguin
warnings: mentions/lead up to sex, 18+, swearing
enjoooooy ;) it's a huge build up!!!!
- * -
Tyler wrapped his arms around you from behind and nuzzled his face into your neck.
“Babe,” you giggled at the feeling of his beard scruff against your neck, “I’m almost done, then you can kiss me!”
He whined against your neck and let his hands roam over your dress. You were wearing a tight black, satin dress with a cowl neckline. Tyler matched with an all-black suit and shirt, the buttons done up enough to show off his chest. The suit was tight against all the right places on him, and if you weren’t going out tonight, you’d tell him to just take it off. Tonight however was a fancy charity event, and you of course were his date. So you couldn’t bail.
“You look so good Y/N… are you sure we need to go?” Tyler’s eyes met yours for a second through the mirror while his hands roamed dangerously close to your boobs. He knew you weren’t wearing a bra, and he knew at any second your nipples would go hard if he continued letting his hands wander.
Rolling your eyes you finished putting in your earrings and turned to look at Tyler, your hands comfortably placed on his chest and then fixing his collar, “maybe if you’re a good boy when I take you out, you can have a treat.” You closed the space between yourself and Tyler, his 6”1 frame made it easy for you to feel him grow a little hard at the thought.
“Says you,” Tyler growled as he squeezed your ass, “remember the last time you went out looking this good?”
Heat rose throughout your body, your face had to be bright red now. The last time the pair of you went out dressed up, Tyler had left for ten minutes to talk to the press and in that time at least two guys had come up to you to buy you a drink. One stayed his welcome a little too long and met Tyler. A very jealous and protective Tyler. After that Tyler had taken you back and made sure the entire hotel floor knew who you went home with.
“Well, let’s play a game,” you smirked letting your hands lightly slide down his arm and stepping back away from Tyler, “whoever makes the other jealous enough first to tap out, loses.”
A dark look washed over Tyler’s face. He knew you loved teasing him, but you also knew how short his temper was, and if this game went too far, he’d surely throw a punch. “We can use a safe phrase, we need to get back to let Teddy out.” Teddy was your beloved Newfoundland dog. He looked exactly like a teddy bear.
Tyler nodded and kisses your forehead, “I’m sure we won’t need it anyway, I know how much you hate seeing me make another lady laugh.”
You stepped closer to him with your lips almost up against his, “then I’m sure you won’t mind when I say yes to a dance… with someone else? You’ll be able to see what everyone else sees when I’m with you, how tight this dress is around my ass, the way they’ll so easily be able to glance down this dress.”
Again, you could feel Tyler harden and see that lustful look in his eyes. You knew you had him where you wanted him, between wanting to tear the dress of you now but also wanting to get you back for making him imagine that sight.
You were for sure the type that would never dare cheat, you adored him far too much and had never felt safer, but you couldn’t deny that making him jealous turned you on. And he kind of enjoyed it. Being able to step in whenever he wanted and take you from whatever idiot thought he had a chance. He loved showing you off to everyone and anyone, and he loved the way guys gawked at you, wishing they were in his place. He only ever flirted with other women to make you jealous, he hated actually doing it, but he loved how it ignited this dominant side of you.
“And when I win baby,” you whispered moving to his ear, “you’ll be begging for me to let you fuck me. Now go and get the car warmed up.” You lightly kissed under his ear before walking away and into the master closet.
- * -
“Tyler!” Someone yelled making the pair of you turn around, you didn’t recognize the guy but Tyler obviously did as they hugged and started talking. You had been at the event for over two hours, your feet were killing you in these heels. You spotted some of the girlfriends and wives of Tyler’s teammates sitting in a booth, laughing and enjoying not being on their feet.
“I’m just going to sit down,” you whispered in Tyler’s ear. “It was lovely seeing you again, I’m just going to sit down.” You told the guy talking with Tyler, he smiled and you leaned in for a hug, “good to see you too Y/N.”
You made your way over to the booth where some of the girls were and let out a sigh of relief when your ass landed on a comfortable chair and took the relief off your feet. Within seconds you were drawn into the conversation the ladies were having before Sarah looked at you and asked if you’d come with her to the bathroom.
Three others joined you as you headed across the large ballroom towards the bathroom. After using the bathroom and freshening your self up, you needed another drink. With your arm linked to Sarah’s, you two headed to the bar.
“So, Tyler and I tonight are playing a little game, want to help me?”
“Oh hell yeah, what do you need girlfriend?”
“Find me a sexy, single man to make Tyler jealous with. First one to get jealous and tell the other, loses.”
Sarah smiled, her and Joe used to do fun things like this all of the time before they had kids. I mean it was the reason Sarah and him had kids. “Follow me.”
“I’m so thirsty,” Sarah said cooly leaning up to the bar and looking at you over her shoulder. She made sure her dazzling ring stayed under the bar island so the young gentlemen beside her would get the hint to buy a drink for the lady. He fell for it easily as he turned in his bar stool to glance at Sarah, “well then someone should fix that.”
Sarah giggled at him, “one for my friend too?”
He nodded and called the bartender over to grab the pair of you some drinks. After the bartender placed the drinks down, Sarah made sure to grab it with her hand that displayed the sparkly set of rings. “Oh, shoot. My husband is beckoning me over, keep my friend company, yeah?”
The man glanced down to her hand, to her, and then over to you. He clearly got the hint and Sarah quickly squeezed between the two of you and into the crowd.
“Well, thank you,” you said raising the glass.
He smiled and turned to fully face you. Sarah clearly knew your type. He was dark haired and dressed similarly to Tyler. He wore dark blue pants that were tailored to just above his ankles, and a crisp white shirt with the sleeves rolled slightly to show off his tattoos. If you weren’t head over heels for Tyler, he would be someone that would catch your eye. “What brings you here?”
“Well, she did,” you lied letting your arm rest up against the bar.
“And now she leaves you?” He joked before taking a sip of his drink. You shrugged it off and took a sip of your own.
“Probably going to shag her husband in the bathroom.”
He let out a low chuckle, and stepped down off the bar stool, “I’m sure your feet are killing you, why don’t you sit instead?”
“Wow, buys me a drink and offers his seat. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you are trying to impress me?” You smiled and slid past the guy, making sure to lightly brush past his arm while getting onto the bar stool. As soon as you did you quickly glanced around to find Tyler in the crowd. Once your eyes locked with his across the room you looked back at the guy and made sure to lean forward a little, knowing Tyler was watching you.
“And if I didn’t know any better, considering you took the chair, I would say I have.”
You smirked at the guy and fully faced him, letting a hand rest on his upper arm, “it may take a little more than this though.”
His eyes slightly widened for a second, not expecting that type of response. But you could tell the guy was buying your game. He stepped slightly closer to your chair and set his finished drink down on the bar. “Well, why don’t I impress you a bit more with my dancing?”
Bingo. If there was anything that drove Tyler more mad for you, it was you dancing, and even more with another guy.
“I would love to!” You giggled quickly downing the rest of your drink. You took the guys extended hand and slid off the stool. You glanced back to where you had seen Tyler and saw him standing with his jaw clenched. Fuck did he look hot too. He was standing with a few of his teammates, they were obviously having a good conversation, one that Tyler was more than likely not paying attention to.
Tyler’s P.O.V.
She knew exactly what she was doing. Tyler watched her and Sarah walk to the bar, and then her leave Y/N with that guy. He got her a drink and then offered his seat for her. When she brushed past him a bit too closely and then found Tyler's eyes before touching his arm, he knew she was playing the game.
“Tyler?” Joe said, snapping him out of his thoughts.
“Yeah?”
Joe re-explained the situation he wanted the group's opinion on and Tyler half-heartedly responded, his eyes still glancing over at Y/N who was now following the guy onto the dance floor. Jealousy grew as he watched his girlfriend start dancing with the guy. He seemed like a gentleman which pissed Tyler off even more because his insecure side thought maybe Y/N would prefer this guy more. Maybe he had something Tyler didn't.
Tyler's thoughts wouldn't even let him begin to look for a way to make Y/N jealous, he was stuck in his spot, his eyes glued to his stunning girlfriend dancing with someone else.
He continued watching until his blood boiled too much and he excused himself from the group. Tyler walked over to the bar, close to a large group of ladies who were more than likely single and looking for a dance partner. Before Tyler could even order a drink, a lady in a dark green dress smiled at Tyler, "would you mind dancing with me for a few songs? This guy who was creeping me out finally left for the washroom, and I don't want him to think I'm waiting for him."
"Yes, but can you play a little game for me? My girlfriend is dancing with another guy, I need you to help me make her jealous."
"Deal. This guy was creeping me out."
The pair headed across the floor to near where Y/N and her dance partner were. Tyler placed his hand on the small of this lady's back and the other on her waist. "So, my girlfriend thinks she can make me more jealous th-"
His eyes found the back of Y/N's head, her ass was perfectly hugged by her tight satin dress, and just above her tailbone was this guy's hand. Tyler's blood boiled. The guy was bent down, his mouth near her ear making her laugh. Her angelic giggle made Tyler feel some type of way.
"Excuse me." Tyler said letting go of the lady and making his way over to Y/N.
Y/N's P.O.V.
His hand was placed dangerously close to your ass, and you knew any second now Tyler would be strutting over to rip you away and take you home.
"So besides stealing every guy's gaze, what do you do?" He asked making you giggle as his lips moved close to your ear so you could hear him over the loud music.
"I'm actu-"
"Babe, there you are! I've been looking all over for you," the familiar voice said behind you, "hey man, thanks for looking after her. I've heard there are some creeps here tonight. I was stuck talking all night and Y/N loves dancing."
The guy let go of you and Tyler's hand was quickly placed very lowly on your back, practically gripping your ass.
"Uh, yeah," he choked out, "um no problem."
Before you could say any more Tyler was guiding you away from the man, his hand firmly placed on your ass.
"I think it's time we get back and let Teddy out. No?"
You smirked up at Tyler and caught his eye, fully knowing you won, "of course, can't keep him holding it in."
"God, you were right," Tyler whispered in your ear, "your ass just looks too fucking good in this dress."
- * -
The cab home was filled with little teases between a polite chat with the driver. From sliding his hand up and under your dress, to you accidentally touching his dick through his pants, the pair of you were desperate to get home.
After finally unlocking the front door, Tyler quickly grabbed under your ass and pulled you up to him. With one hand he shoved your long dress up enough so your legs could wrap around him, the other holding you up. He pushed you up against the now closed door and kissed along your jawline.
"Fuck, I've been waiting for this all night."
You sighed in pleasure as he continued kissing all over your neck and chest.
"Did I make you mad when I let his hand drift a little too close?"
"Yes. Now, do as I sa-"
"Nuh uh Seguin. I won. My rules." You said clicking your tongue in a disapproving manner. "Now carry me into the living room, I need a comfy couch to lay on."
You were going to do everything possible to drag this out and make him whine for you. He did as he was told and gently laid you down on the couch. Him hovering above you made your head spin since you could now easily smell his cologne. He kissed your lips hungrily and before it got too heated you shoved him off and onto the couch beside you.
"My feet are so sore," you groaned, "and this dress is so restricting."
"Let me help bab-"
You cut him off by effortlessly sitting right on his lap and then agonizingly slowly reaching to take your heels off, knowing full well your ass was perfectly placed on his boner. His hands grabbed your waist tightly, and pulled you in, begging for more.
"Y/N," he groaned, "please."
After taking your heels off you stood up and turned to face Tyler, a smirk on your face.
"Be a good boy and sit there. No touching until I say, otherwise you won't be getting anything." Tyler gulped sharply at your words, him growing harder and harder.
You slowly reached for the little zipper that was on the side of your dress, you let a strap slide down one arm and watched as Tyler's eyes sharply watched it fall, and then the other. As soon as they fell the dress dropped to your hips, needing a bit more help falling off your body. His eyes widened at the sight of your bare chest and it gave you even more confidence to continue. You loved the way he stared at you in awe. You turned around and slowly sat on his lap making him moan at the touch, but he listened and didn't move his hands to touch you.
"Good boy," you cooed looking at him over your shoulder as you reached for your dress and pulled it below your hips making sure to stand up enough so your ass was on full display. You couldn't wear much underwear with the dress, so you decided to go commando for the night, and knowing that the only thing keeping you from being exposed to that guy and from everyone else was a piece of cloth made Tyler even more hungry for you.
"Please," Tyler said hungrily, "Y/N, please, let me touch you."
His begging turned you on, and you were so close to giving in.
You stepped out of the dress and kicked it along the wood floor, now fully naked in his lap. You stood up and turned around, placing one hand on his shoulder to brace yourself as you place your knees on either side of Tyler, hovering above his dick. His eyes darted from your naked vagina to your eyes.
"Baby let me touch you," he growled, his eyes dark with lust.
You clicked your tongue again, "Be a good boy and talk nice Tyler. Otherwise, I will make sure you don't get anything."
He whined but you covered most of it with a kiss. You could feel his arms twitch under you, and it made you smirk knowing that he wanted to touch you so badly.
You placed a hand on his chest and then let the other find a button on his shirt so you could begin to take off his dress shirt.
"Maybe I shouldn't let you have anything anyway," you sighed, biting your lip, "I mean, you tried to make me jealous. I was only dancing with the guy to thank him for the drink." Your innocent excuse made Tyler's mind flash to the guy's hand dangerously close to your ass, and that thought made his blood boil. With your gaze fixated on his dress shirt buttons, you were shocked when suddenly he was nipping at the tip of your breast and his hands were gripping your waist, picking you up, and aggressively slamming you against the couch cushions.

That's part one!!!

Okay!! Can I request either number 2, 6, or 64 for seguin? 💚 thank you!
happy dilf day!
02. “You’re definitely your mother/father’s child”
“Where’s your backpack?” You ask your son who was, once again, running late for school.
“I don’t know” He shrugged and you groaned as you continued searching the house. It was honestly a shock at how often this seemed to happen.
“How do you just lose your bag baby?”
“What’s going on?” Tyler asked, walking down the stairs.
“I lost my pack pack” Your son giggled and you huffed as you stopped your search to look at your husband who didn’t seem too bothered at the fact that your son was extremely late for school.
“Isn’t it up in your room? Go check” Tyler sent him upstairs and you walked over to him with your arms crossed.
“He gets it from you, y’know?” You say and Tyler’s jaw drops in disbelief.
“No he does not!”
“You lose your phone and keys like every day” You raise an eyebrow and he thinks about it for a minute before grinning.
“I always find them though!”
“Mhm they’re always exactly where you left them”
“I found it Mama! It was in my room because I was takin’ my books out yesterday” You look to Tyler with a smirk, your son proving your point for you.
“You’re definitely your father’s child” You say as you chase him out the door and into the car, hoping to make it to the school on record time.

🍪 - Anything with Crosby, Seguin or Oleksiak
Here you go, I decided on Tyler Seguin. I hope you like it @starshine-hockey-girl This is a part of the Mollie’s Just for Fun Week event I am currently having. feel free to take part if you would like to!
Now onto the request.
~~~~~~
I should’ve known that dating a hockey player would force me out of my comfort zone.
The media attention and constant separation I can manage but when it came to going to any of the events that Tyler would inevitably drag me along to, I had one problem with them.
Well two I suppose, you would think that because they have hockey players there, they would learn to provide sensible portion sizes for dinner. I mean seriously, those meals could barely fill up a five-year-old the portions are so tiny. But that’s beside the point.
These events were understandably very crowded, to the point where I would always get separated from him. All the WAGs joked that at this point we all needed to invest in those animal backpacks with the leashes. Maybe then we would be able to find them.
If it isn’t clear by now, I HATE CROWDS! Yes, I am aware it’s ironic given my habit of braving the crowds in the stands because I prefer to sit in the stands with some of the kids instead of being stuck in the family box.
I like the vibe of being surrounded by fans, sue me.
I decided to finally voice my uncomfortableness to Tyler before we had to head to a casino night the team was holding for charity. “Umm Tyler, babe?” I spoke aloud meekly pulling on my stockings.
Tyler turned to face me with his tie messily around his neck. “Yeah, babe what’s wrong, you only use that tone when you are nervous to tell me something. Did something happen at work today, did the vet call saying that something is up with the dogs?!?”
I giggled at his worry about his Labradors that were curled up on the bed. “Nope, the vet didn’t call, and work was, well, it was work. I just get nervous before these types of things.”
“Why do you need to be nervous, the guys said that all their significant others are coming. It’s not like you won’t have anyone you know at the event. You’ll be fine.” He said turning towards the mirror to fix his tie.
I sighed defeated and finished pulling my stockings up my legs. “Yeah, I’m sure I’ll be fine. It’s not like I hate crowds or anything.” I said muttering the last bit to myself.
When we arrived at the event, I took a deep breath before exiting the car and following Tyler into the casino that they rented specially for this event.
As soon as we entered the event, my heart rate increased, and I looked around to find someplace where I could calm down. And of course, as soon as the media and fans saw Tyler, they swarmed around him making me panic.
Tyler looked back towards me, and I saw him register the panic that was in my eyes. He had a oh shoot moment as he realized why I was so nervous for this event. He grabbed my hand and pulled it to his lips lightly kissing the back of it calming me down slightly. I thought that he was going to drop my hand after that, but he kept hold of it answering questions as he rubbed small circles on the back of my hand keeping me grounded.
I breathed out a laugh at how easily Tyler managed to pick up on my nerves in the moment versus how he, unintentionally, dismissed the same nerves when we were at home.
After the crowd dispersed a slight bit Tyler pulled me along towards where some of his teammates were standing with their plus ones. As soon as we reached the group I felt as at ease as I could be at a crowded event.
As we settled into the group I heard Tyler whisper, “Is that why you were so nervous at home?”
I subtlety nodded my head, “Yeah, I get nervous in crowds.”
“But you’re so good when you’re in the concourse at a game?”
“Not as many eyes on me.” I said shrugging.
“Sorry I didn’t pick up on that earlier.” He said kissing my temple.
“It’s all good babe, now let’s just enjoy the night and plan which fast food restaurant we are going to after because we both know how little they feed you at these things.”
“McDonalds?” Tyler asked.
“No, In-n-Out.”  I countered. Beginning a heated debate that we always had at these events.
“Both of you are wrong, we are going to get Pizza Hut after. Quick and easy, also not the type of food we get when we are on the road.” Jamie said like it was already set in stone.
The others laughed as we started all debating where the best place was for us to get food.
Called you on the phone today
Just to ask you how you were
All I did was speak normally
Somehow I still struck a nerve
« »
All, I asked was how you were doing. All I wanted to know was how your day went, but no. That was too much. I heard it in your tone, and the underlying double meanings of your words. God forbid, I tell you I miss you and that I love you. Cuz that was too much for you to handle, apparently. Because, I unfortuntly can't relate to your life or what you are going through.
"I really don't want to talk about it." You spat into the phone. You sighed, "You know I want to, but like, it's hard for you to understand. I have 5 students who don't turn in shit that are begging for me not to fail them, I have a teachers pet who won't leave me the fuck alone and one kid who wants to sleep with me so badly it's disgusting." you rambled. "Im sorry, babe. Do you want anything? or need anything? Can I do anything to help? I can organize or help you grade." I suggested, but she wanted none of it. "Ha, yeah. You'll think everybody deserves an A." You chuckled.
Again, I couldn't understand but wanted to be a good boyfriend. Be the best that I could be, but it was never enough.
« »
You got me fucked up in the head, girl.
Never doubted myself so much
Like, am I pretty? Am I fun, girl?
I hate that I give you power over that kind of stuff
« »
I have never self doubted myself so much before. I have always been confident, collected and 100 % sure of myself. But that went out the door as soon as I met you. I began to second guess what I wore, what I read in front of you, the shows or movies that I watched, what I said. You were so out of my league, and I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that you chose me. I was hoplessly pining after you, was it all a joke? Was it all a facade? To use and dump me, because I wasn't what you expected or leveled up to your expectation?
It angers me to no end, how I used to be somebody so shore of themself that nothing rattled me. Maybe, you coming in and out of my life was a blessing in disguise? Your little comments about things I did was a way for me to realize, that I am no longer a child. I needed to start acting my age, but it made me want act out even more. God, I sound like a child. But then again, you treated me like one and not an adult who was the same age.
« »
'Cause it's always one step forward and three steps back
I'm the love of your life until I make you mad
It's always one step forward and three steps back
« »
"God!!! You're such an idiot Tyler! Did you seariously not think about what you were doing?" You yelled at me, before making your way past me towards the kitchen. I admit, I was never the best chef but I tried. Today, I tried making a pasta dish that my mom had sent over. Claiming, you would love it. "Oh my god, its all over the oven." you huffed as I walked back in. When I was putting in the pot, to cooke in the oven, I had spilled some of the liquid that was in there. I didn't think anything of it, until the smoke alarm went off and that's when she jumped off the couch. "Are you stupid, Ty." You murmured, thinking I couldn't hear it. Yet, I heard every word.
Gotta, take three steps back now.
Later that evening, I sat in bed reading a book you had coerced me into buying the last time we were at barnes and noble. It was a book on American Politics, fitting since you are a history professor at a university in Dallas. Again, so out of my league. You pulled the sheets back hopping in bed, and honestly startling me. You had barely spoke to me throughout dinner, after me trying to cook. The food came out fine, and that's what I should have been thinking about. But nope, you had me rethinking everything I had done the past few days after getting back from a two week roadtrip. You shifted onto your side, staring up at me with those blue eyes I loved so much. I put my bookmark into the neck of the book and placed in on my side table, before shutting off my light. I turned onto my side, facing away from her. Not wanting to hear what you had to say about putting my book on my nightstand the way it was. "Ty..." I heard you softly murmur, before you wrapped her arms around me. I let them stay there until I finally turned over and faced you. I could make out your face in the dark, and saw your eyes filled with tears.
Don't do it Tyler.
I pulled you closer, into my arms and placed a kiss on your head. "I know, I know." I murmured as you cried in my arms. I hated the power you had over me. I was fucking hooked or trapped, not wanting to leave because if I did I know you would try to make my life hell. But then again, we have had some amazing times together. That mattered more right? But after you moved in - everything changed. "Ty..I am sorry for what I said." You began as you shifted to look at me, "I promise I will be better. You know I don't mean it right? You know I don't think you're stupid. Far from it. I just get controlling and I promise to get better. I promise." You said in the most honest and genuine voice. I nodded, almost robot like. This wasn't the first time, and this wouldn't be the last.
One step forward.
« »
And maybe in some masochistic way
I kinda find it all exciting
Like, which lover will I get today?
Will you come with me to bed or send me to sleep cryin'?
« »
I wanted to have normalcy, and to know what I would be getting that day or that moment from you.
However, I loved the unknown. It was sadly addicting in a way. Yet, my therapist would choose other words to describe it. I never knew what to expect, which made it exciting but also terrifying at the same time. I never knew if you'd start something before bed leaving me to cry my self to sleep or having you in my arms. I never knew what to expect, and that was exhausting after awhile. Some night's I left to stay with Jamie, who again always told me to leave. But he didn't know the real you, or so I thought was the real you.
« »
And I'd leave you, but the roller coaster is all I've ever had
Yeah, it's one step forward and three steps back
I don't understand
No, I don't understand
« »
I wanted to leave so badly, more than you could possible know. I had a bag at all times at Jamies, I always made sure to keep my most prized possessions locked up, incase you decided to go on a rampage and then leave with my things. I always had a safe word, that Jamie knew and only knew. Nobody on the team had a clue, and I made sure incase it got back to you. And if I ever said that word in public or private, he would know exactly what I needed him to do. To bring me somewhere safe, to lay out my options and figure out what I needed to do next with my lawyer and manager.
"I want to leave so badly, but I don't know if I want to. I don't know if I can." I said the very first day, with my now therapist. After a severe and scary blow up between her and I, I knew I needed to get a third point of view, and work on myself. I blew up way too much and I believed that that was the cause of all our issues. I was putting it all on my back, to keep you. They kept telling that what I was projecting onto myself, was uncalled for. I was putting too much of the blame on myself, when I should not be. That you were part of the problem, more so than I. Jamie had taken me there, and a little more than halfway my session, they had him come in to discuss my options and to make sure I would be taken care of and had a safe place if I chose to leave. This girl I thought I loved, had put me in a position where I thought I could never leave. That I had no way out, because she ran my life. You kept things in order, so that I could go do what I wanted to do. Yet, you would continusly throw it back at me about how you had no life outside of me, that all you did was cater towards me.
It was in fact the opposite, then. I had no life, I was always too scared to go out with the boys after a game win or lose. Scared to go out to eat with the team and there wags while you were working, in fear you would yell at me about being around women that weren't you or your friends. I stopped drinking, partially out of you judging me and partially out of fear, you would drink me dry and go off on me again about something stupid.
My life was a rollercoaster then, and I was scared of what it would be without the chaos and terror. I was scared of the retaliation, and the fear of you trying to come after everything I had. Everybody I loved, even though you and I were never married. I still couldn't wrap my head around how I had let somebody so toxic around my dogs. My literal children, and after awhile I couldn't deal with them being there. So Jamie being my best friend and honestly brother, took them in shortly after you moved in. To keep them in a loving home, and I knew that they were in a safe and healthy enviornment.
I don't understand, all of it. I don't understand where it all went wrong. I don't know where I went wrong, completely throwing out all common sense and my gut. I slowly lost control of our relationship, slowly losing control on my life. I had begun living my life according to you, and making sure you were happy with everything I did. I don't understand where the turning point was for me. How I had allowed somebody to completley flip my life upside down?
I was never enough for you, I did not challenge your intricate and deeply thought out responses and thesis' you were always creating for your students. I was never going to be able to rival your coworkers in anyway, or come up with a clever yet witty rebuttle with your friends. The only people you wanted me to see, outside of you. I will never understand, why you chose me. Was it because I was weak? Gullible? Because I was hoplelessly pining after you, never believing you'd agree to go on a date with me or agree to date me? Maybe because I was a bed filler, I was easy to keep around because I did what ever you wanted and was somebody you could get laid with?
I lay awake at night, cursing the universe for what I did to deserve all of this. How I always had to take 1 step forward, only to take 3 steps back. Everything little thing I did wrong, was a set back. Sadly, it's been 2 years and I still can't shake you. I can't shake how you waltzed around my house, thinking you ruled my world and dictated what I did and did not do. I can't shake how I couldn't see how manipulative and toxic you were. Even 2 years into therapy, and 1 year out of our relationship I still wake up in terror, thinking you'll be there to hit me in my sleep because I moved wrong, or woke up. Even a year later, I still can't get your anger out of my mind. Even as I try to come back to a somewhat normal life. A somewhat normal and healthly balance of life and work. Understanding and accepting, that it is in fact O.K to go out to eat with friends. How it is O.K to speak to my sisters, or to my family who were deemed unitelligent or dull because they did not have an IVY league degree from Harvard. I knew that me not going to college, somewhat irritated you becuase it came out in the comments you made about my intellegence and how moronic I sounded when trying to talk to you about important issues such as race or gender.
And yet I fear, I will forever be bounded by the grip you had me in. Yet, I know I will move on eventually, and be able to move on with somebody else and potentially have a family with them.
It'll be different then, I'll make certain of it. My life doesn't revolve around you anymore and it never will again. I can promise you that.
And someday, along the way, you'll be doing the exact same thing to somebody else and it'll be like deja vu.
summary: a beach wedding is the perfect way to celebrate the beginning of your new life with Tyler. and finally it seems your lonely days are through...
song word count: 1.2k  warnings: wedding fic, feminine reader, someone ‘giving away’ the bride
“Are you ready?”
The answer to that question was an unequivocal resounding yes. But the butterflies in your stomach hadn’t settled since the moment you woke up today.
What exactly was the difference between fear and excitement? You couldn’t quite remember.
One thing you did remember and one thing that you would never forget until the day you died was how much you loved your fiancée, soon to be husband, Tyler. The moment you had met him, something in you said that he was the one. He was the one that would change your life forever. Back then, you weren’t sure how he would: if the two of you would even be a couple, if you would be friends, if he would stay in your life, or if he would be there to help you grow and then leave when it was done. But Tyler proved that he was it for you. And you were it for him.
Through distance and career shifts and hard times, he never gave up on you and you never gave up on him. He was the one that took all of your broken pieces, all of the sharp edges of your past that made you scared of love, and he loved you still. Not in spite of them, but because of them. Every day you woke up next to him felt like an adventure and every night you fell asleep wrapped in his arms felt like coming home.
You wanted him more with every passing day and you knew that he felt the same.
He told you as much when he dropped down on one knee that day almost a year ago.
And now, you were about to marry the love of your life.
It almost didn’t seem real to you.
“Hey,” the familiar comforting voice of your brother pulled you out of your head and back into the moment. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” you say, unable to hide the shakiness in your voice.
“Are you sure? Because if you need to make a quick getaway, I can get the car started right now.”
You can tell from the lilt of his voice that he was joking. But you also knew that he was dead serious because he was your brother; always there to support you, even in the stupidest decision.
“Thanks for the offer but I’m gonna pass,” you laugh, straightening your shoulders and adjusting your grip on your bouquet. “I just can’t believe this is happening. I’m getting married.”
“You just realized this now?” your brother laughs. “Right before you’re about to walk down the aisle?” You playfully nudge his shoulder, annoyed but thankful for his carefree attitude pushing away any lingering anxieties.
“Shut-up,” you mumble. You feel the wedding coordinator bustling around you, adjusting your dress train and veil and your heart starts up again when you hear her listen to a voice from the small headphone looped around her ear, before she nods at you, indicating that it was time.
“Seriously though,” your brother speaks again and you glance up to meet his eyes. “I’m so happy for you. Tyler is the luckiest guy alive.”
You can’t stop the smile that pulls at your lips at his words, resting your head against his shoulder. As nervous or excited that you were for this moment, you knew that you were ready for this. Because the first response that popped into your head at your brothers words were these:
I’m the lucky one.
You steady yourself one last time, taking a last deep breath before the doors open and you step outside, beginning your path down towards your future husband.
The wooden slats of the deck feel steady underneath your feet as you walk to the beach, your brother steadying you all the way, your arm tucked safely in his. You can see the reception area nestled in the sand from your position up on the cliffside, hear the soft sounds of the music dancing over the crashing of the waves, spy your friends beginning their procession down the aisle.
Your grip on your brother’s arm tightens as you near the end of the deck, the butterflies fluttering ever faster. He responds with a gentle squeeze of your hand as the two of you still at the bottom of the staircase.
The piano melody slows and you release a shaky exhale as you see watch the guests stand and turn towards you, their smiling faces reflecting the joy in your eyes. You step out onto the beach, the sand feeling cool beneath your feet and you slowly start to walk down the aisle.
Your eyes dance over the crowd, smiling at them and silently thanking them for being here for you. But soon, your attention turns towards the end of the aisle.
He still has his back to you but you can see the nerves taking a hold of his body as his feet shift in the sand, his shoulders moving as he takes a deep breath, the muscles in his arms tensing underneath his tattoo sleeves as he waits for the moment he can see you. You feel the tears prick at the corner of your eyes as your chest heaves trying to steady your own breathing. It almost works until you see Jamie clasp Tyler on the shoulder, whispering a few words to him and Tyler turns to face you.
The tears that were threatening to spill from your eyes came back in full force as you see Tyler’s face break, his composure failing. You see a smile as his head falls so he can wipe away the tears in his eyes, before looking back up at you, the love pouring from him as you continue your procession.
You blink rapidly, trying to stop your own tears from falling, a shaky smile appearing on your lips as you walk towards him. You want to give him that soft delicate smile that you had been practicing but your emotions were too much and the best you could give was that unsteady upward turn of your lips as you choked back your tears.
But it was enough for Tyler.
You finally reach him, your brothers giving you as small kiss on the crown of your head before he lets you go. Without thinking, you extend your hand to Tyler, reaching out towards him and he blindly takes it, his fingers intertwining with yours, your heartbeat steadying when you feel the small movements of his thumb smoothing the skin on the back of your hand.
He gently guides you up to the center and you hand off your bouquet before turning to face him fully. Another small smile makes it’s way onto you lips when your eyes connect to his.
“Hi,” you whisper, sniffing back the remnants of your tears.
“Hi yourself,” he responds and you can’t help the breathy laughter that escapes you. “You look beautiful.”
“So do you,” you say, giggling again when that wide infectious grin breaks out his face.
The officiant calls your attention to the front and you hear the rustle of your guests settling back down into their seats. Tyler smiles at you again and you take another deep breath, the butterflies finally settling as you feel his energy and love wash over you, as constant as the tide and as deep as the sea.
“Are you ready to do this?” he asks. A soft smile tugs at your lips as you squeeze his hand gently.
“I’m ready for anything. Just as long as I’m with you.”
tyler seguin as a girl dad. omg i’m in love just thinking about it
TEA PARTY
before rosie was even born, she had her father wrapped around her finger. early morning cravings? tyler was jumping out of bed and getting it for you. feeling cold? he would jump out of bed to the thermostat, completely forgetting he had the ability to change it from his phone.
after she was born, nothing changed. if she cried in the middle of the night, he was jumping out of bed to check on her. she knew she had him wrapped around her finger, so she used it to her advantage. even at almost 3, she knew she held all the power.
and that's how tyler found himself in a sparkly pink tutu, a tiara on his head, and squished into a small chair meant for a child, in front of a tea party table surrounded by stuffed animals and drink water (which she pretended was tea) and eating oreos.
"more tea, daddy?" rosie asked.
"i would love more tea, princess rosie." he smiled, holding out his cup and letting her pour more "tea" into it.
you walked through the door, bags of groceries in hand, "i'm home!" you announced.
"mommy!" rosie came running from her room and into the kitchen where you were.
"hi, roro." you smiled, hoisting her up and holding her on your hip. you burst out laughing when you saw tyler walk into the kitchen, tutu, crown and all.
"i don't know why you're laughing. i was crowned princess." he did a spin.
you looked down at rosie, "did you dress up daddy?"
she nodded, proud of herself, "we're having tea party."
"a tea party? and i wasn't invited?"
"you are now." she wigged, and you put her down. she grabbed your hand and pulled you into her room. she looked back at tyler, and nodded over to the bags of groceries, gesturing for him to put them away.
when he came back into the room, you were squished into a chair of your own, a crown on your own head, "more tea?" rosie offered.
"i'd love more tea." you smiled, and she poured more water into your tea cup. you looked over at the doorway, "come here, princess. join us."
"i'm coming." he laughed, squishing into the chair once again.
taylor's dilf day!
Oooooh okay. I’m feeling #12 with my boy Tyler. 😏
You asked me to make this hurt, Em, so I did my best! Thank you for choosing Tyler!
"Don't look at me like that." "Like what?" "Like you still love me."
Words: 608
*
“Oh thank fuck, you’re still here.”
You looked up from packing your suitcase at the familiar voice, anger rushing through you in a way that it never had before.
“Tyler,” you said dryly, trying to keep your emotions in control.
“Baby, please stop,” he begged.
You pursed your lips, quickly shaking your head, ignoring the way his face fell. “I’m not your baby anymore, Seguin. You lost that right in Florida. Or was it Chicago? Or New York? Should I keep going?”
Tyler swallowed heavily, visibly drawing in on himself – you’d never actually seen him look so small. But it didn’t change the fact that your words were true. He didn’t get to call you baby, not after everything he’d done.
“It was a mistake. All of them, they were all mistakes,” Tyler insisted.
All of them. Just hearing him confirm his unfaithfulness so simply made your hands shake too much to continue packing your clothes, so you took a deep breath to steady yourself before finally turning properly to face him. The devastation on his face, in his whole body, twisted the painful knife even further, and you hated him for it.
“Don’t look at me like that,” you said sharply.
“Like what?” he asked, confused.
“Like you still love me,” you said, coldness clear in your voice.
Tyler laughed bitterly and shook his head. “I may have fucked up royally, like I’m well aware of that, but it doesn’t change how I feel about you. I love you. Nothing’s going to change that.”
How could he still say that he loved you? Tears sprung to your eyes and you looked away from him quickly, desperate for him not to see how he’d affected you. “That’s not fair, Ty,” you whispered.
“Baby, I…fuck,” he groaned.
You turned your head back ever so slightly, watching him run a shaky hand through his hair out the corner of your eye. A sharp pang ran through your body but you tried to ignore it – he deserved to feel like shit, he deserved to feel this messed up, after how badly he’d messed you around.
“Is there nothing I can do? Please tell me there’s still some scrap of hope for us,” he finally said, stepping closer to you.
But you just held a hand up, turning your body back to him as he halted in his steps.
“Any hope was lost the second time you cheated, Tyler. I could’ve forgiven one stupid night, even though I feel like an idiot even saying that. But considering that it’s been three that I’ve found out about? No doubt that there’s countless more? Not a chance. You ruined everything,” you hissed, eyes filling with tears all over again.
The humiliation you’d felt when your friends first texted you still burned through your veins; the betrayal you’d felt when you saw picture after picture sat in your stomach like a sunken rock. There was nothing he could ever do to make you forget how his disloyalty made you feel, nothing. Even if it broke your heart irreparably.
“I’m so sorry,” was all Tyler said.
“It’s a bit too late for that,” you said, laughing dryly.
“I want you to know, baby, I-”
“Just stop, Tyler,” you interrupted, zipping up your suitcase, “I’m going to stay with a friend – I’ll be back to pick up the rest of my stuff when you’re gone.”
“I’m supposed to just let you go, just like that?” Tyler said, more than a little desperate.
“Yeah, you are. Do us both a favour and lose my number, Tyler Seguin. I won’t have my heart broken by you a second time.”
Made to Last || Tyler Seguin/Jamie Benn Pt. 22
A/N: I'm thinking there's going to be just 1 or 2 more parts to this story unless y'all want more. I definitely cried writing this.
Song Inspo: Made to Last by Issues & You're Not Sorry Taylor Swift
Paring: Tyler x Reader Jamie x Reader
Warnings: Cussing, angst
Word Count: 1216
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Y/N's P.O.V.
Last night you cried yourself to sleep, mourning the relationship you and Tyler once had. You came to a conclusion, whether you and Jamie work out or not, you still have to have this conversation with Tyler. Just the thought of what you're about to tell the man you used to think you were going to spend the rest of your life with guts you. Part of you wishes you could be a chicken shit and do this over the phone. As you wait for the door to open you try to collect your thoughts.
"Y/N now's not really a good time." Tyler's greeting is laced with annoyance. Not exactly the greeting you were hoping for. Though you can't really say you're surprised.
"Tell Nessa to put some clothes on, or tell her to wait. We need to have this conversation, and we need to have it now. I also need to get the rest of my things." Maybe this conversation will be easier than you thought. Rolling his eyes, Tyler steps to the side inviting you in.
"So this is it?" He asks.
"Tyler, I've wasted all this time waiting and hoping you'd come around. I've been giving out chances and every time all you do is let me down. And it's taken me this long to figure it out. You're thinking we'll be fine, because every time you fuck up I come running back, but not this time around. Could've loved you all my life if you hadn't left me waiting in the cold. You had me crawling for your love, and it never would've gone away. You used to shine so bright, but I watched all of it fade You can tell me you're sorry, but I don't believe you like I did before.  I don't want to hurt anymore. It's not just me I have to look out for anymore. Part of me was hoping we'd work out for our child, but you accusing me of cheating, and you running back to the arms of Nessa the second something seemed off between us is the last straw. So you don't have to worry about the 2 of us anymore. I'm done, we're done. The baby and I deserve so much better and more than you could ever give." You were proud of yourself, not a single tear was shed.
"I'm sorry." That's all he had to say. After 2 and a half years, all he had to say was he was sorry.  You had hoped that maybe he would've shown that he still cared, but he didn't.
"You're not, but that's okay. I'm really sorry. I'll grab my things and be out of your hair." You reach in your back pocket and grab the ring he gave you, "give this to someone you really want forever with, not because you feel guilty." With that, you go collect your things.
"What are you doing here?" Nessa hisses. Lovely.
"Don't worry you dumb bitch I'm just here to get my shit and go." You can't see what Tyler sees in her, maybe she's got a pussy of gold. That's the only thing that would be appealing about her.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tyler's P.O.V.
"Y/N, before you go I feel like I need to give my side." Right now seemed like the best time to come clean. She's already leaving me, not that I blame her.
"It's not going to change anything Ty, I've made my mind up, and seeing Nessa here just cemented my choice."
"What I have to say is only going to make things worse." I take a deep breath, " I can't tell you why or when but I lost feelings for you, and around that time I started seeing Nessa again. I know it was wrong, but I just didn't see a way out. I figured if I was a big enough dick eventually you would've left me like you're doing now. I really am sorry I thought hurting you was the best option. That being said, you can drop the whole pregnancy facade." The look on Y/N's face tells me I struck a nerve.
"You're a fucking idiot." Is all she had to say before slamming my door in my face. We hadn't been having a lot of sex in the first place with her being stabbed and all, so there was no way she is pregnant with my child. There was a small voice in the back of my head telling me she wouldn't lie about something like that, but I refused to believe her. If I believed her, that makes me an even bigger asshole than I intended to be.
A knock on the door pulls me out of my thoughts. Maybe Y/N forgot something? She's about the only person I could think of that would knock. To my surprise it's Jamie.
"Why the hell are you knocking?" I ask.
"We need to have a little chat." Something is off in his tone. My gut tells me whatever he's about to say isn't going to be something I like. Stepping to the side I let him in. "I've done a lot of thinking and I feel it's best that I tell you how I'm feeling." What the hell is he talking about?
"Okay? If you're about to tell me what a shitty person I am, Y/N did a pretty good job of that already, and sadly I don't give a shit." There is a small part of me that does feel bad for the shit I've done, but I don't really care.
"I'm glad she did. Tyler you fucked up, bad. But I'm not here to yell at you. I've already told Y/N, but I feel like you deserve to know that I'm in love with her." What. The. Fuck. "I don't know why or when but I'm in love with her. Like I said I already told her, and if she decided to have me, I'm going to treat her right."
"How long have you 2 been fucking?" Logically I know Jamie wouldn't do that to me, but right now I'm not thinking logically. Of all the people I could see Y/N moving on with, I never would've thought it'd be my best friend. I thought she'd leave Texas and I'd never see her again. That's what made this so easy. Seeing her happy and thriving is something I don't know if I can handle.
"You're a fucking idiot. You know better than that. She was or is madly in love with you, she would've never done you dirty the way you've done her dirty. I was happy to sit back and let you two be happy, but you went a fucked up again. So now if she'll let me, I'm going to step up to the plate and treat her the way you should've from the start."
"So you're just going to throw away our friendship over a little bit of pus-," before I could finish my sentence his fist connected with my jaw.
"You are the only person to blame for our friendship being what it is now. And don't you ever talk about Y/N that way. We both know she's more than that." I haven't seen Jamie this pissed since the morning Y/N left the first time.
