Well I decided to write something about some yanderes, well I'm kind of new to this, so sorry for any mistakes, well in the Brazilian yandere community, we usually write headcanons of some characters, as well as realizing that there were no headcanons for some characters here on Tumblr, I decided to write a little about them.
Yandere reacting to reader who cosplays
Monika
- Well, you have only been dating a short time, and she knew that you loved to watch anime, series and Doramas, read some manga and light novels or play some video games, and since you know her well, you call her to watch something that involves romance;
- But something caught you off guard, when you simply showed up at the meeting with the cosplay of a romance anime you like to watch with your girlfriend;
- You did it because it might please your beautiful girlfriend;
- you cosplayed Kaguya Shinomiya from Kaguya Sama wa kokurasetai;
- Well you just wanted to surprise her, and Monika rather liked that, and with that she pours sweet kisses all over your face, and you turn into a blushing mess;
- You get a little clumsy around your girlfriend, so you don't get into the role of Kaguya too much;
- Monika loves how Kaguya Sama's school uniform dress looks perfect on you;
- Well you have been doing character cosplays for quite a while now, so it would be nice if your girlfriend knew about it;
- Well Monika realized at first that this was not the first cosplay, as it was very well done;
- When you stopped being embarrassed by the situation, you decided to act like the character you had cosplayed;
- Monika laughed a lot at your performances, because you were able to get perfectly into the role of the character;
- She loved the work you did just for her, you had so much love and dedication to it, she feels sweet, she will one day repay that;
Ayano Aishi
- She was waiting for you outside your room, but out of nowhere she feels caught, she feels your hands on her thighs and back, you had picked her up;
- This yandere turned extremely red when you did this, and when she looked at you, you were in costume;
- You were cosplaying Yuji Itadori from Jujutsu kaisen;
- The two of you kind of decided to hang out together at the comic con, to tell you the truth, you were the one who urged her to go to the event;
- At the event, you were holding hands the whole time;
- Ayano wasn't in cosplay, since she didn't see much point in it, but so that people wouldn't look down on her for not wearing something from pop culture, you lent her your Attack on Titan freedom wings sweatshirt;
- Ayano was extremely happy and flushed with this gesture, it will be a little difficult for her to return the sweatshirt to you, as she will place it on her altar with other of her belongings;
- At the event, many people came up to you to compliment the cosplay, but until one person came up, making a reference to the anime:
" What is your type of woman"
Ayano grimaced at that, why ask such a personal and stupid question?
She hadn't understood the reference, so you got into character.
"My kind of woman? My kind of woman is tall and big-butt, just like my girlfriend Ayano Aishi! He then points to the dark-haired girl.

Alan Orion
- Alan had arranged for you to go out into the forest, since he had a surprise for you;
- But you had an appointment, so you told him you were going to be a little late, of course he was annoyed by this, what was more important than him?!;
- Well you had to go to an anime event that was going to be held at the gym, a lot of people who like pop culture went there, so obviously to show your work, so you went in cosplay;
- The cosplayer you did was Rem from Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu;
- After the event, you were in a hurry to go see your boyfriend, because you knew he had been upset with you for changing the appointment time;
- By this time you hadn't even taken off the accessories you were wearing to make the cosplay, so you go straight into the forest to see that man;
- When you arrived, Alan was sitting with his back to you, and as soon as you approached him, your boyfriend's heterochromatic eyes sparkled with admiration; he thought you were late just to get ready like that just for him;
- Well, his intention when he called you was to fuck you hard in the forest, to get you addicted to his cock, but seeing you dressed like that made him hard right away;
- You kind of won't feel your legs for a week anymore;
Sunny day Jack
- Jack was wondering why you were taking so long in the room;
- He was intrigued in what you were doing, as this ghost was curious of what your Sunshine was doing, so he opened the door to your room;
- When he was going to ask how you were, he looked at you, you were wearing strange clothes, wearing a pink wig and contact lenses of the same color, as well as a well-made makeup over your face, making you look very effeminate;
- You jumped when he saw you cosplaying Astolfo from Fate: Apocrypha;
- Well, you decided to step into the role of the character, just to tease Jack for breaking into your room;
"Oh! So you are my master?! Then I will introduce myself! For it is very important to speak my real name! So, my name is Astolfo! One of the twelve paladins of Charles Magno! It's a pleasure" you played the role of getting all excited, quickly approaching the blue-haired man.
" What about yours?" You had a huge smile on your face, you had really gotten into character, Jack was impressed, even though he didn't understand the reference he quite liked it, especially the master part.
- Jack picks you up and puts you on the bed, he would give you lots of love, because as you said, he was your master;

“We’ll pick you up in a few days, then!” Lucky said, waving as he got back on his little space motorcycle thing, presumably going back to the Orion, but then again, who knew with Lucky?
“You’re Yamato, right?” asked the man who came to greet him, holding hands with another man who had a distinctly non-human hand. Yamato itched to inspect it, although he kept himself in check. He was there to write about animals on a planet that had descendants from Earth, not to cause intergalactic wars.
“Yes, you’re Gira...-sama?”
“Just Gira is fine, and this is Jeramie! And Douga-san!”
Yamato nodded, looking around at everything. There was something very slightly off, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it. Certainly no one else seemed bothered.
“So you’re from Earth, then? You’ve met the Kyoryugers?” Gira asked as the four of them made their way to the castle.
“Amu met Ucchi-san from them, several years ago. And I’ve worked with their Red, although I haven’t quite met him,” Yamato explained.
“Fascinating,” Jeramie said. “So you’re writing about just animals?”
“Yes, I’ve written about animals from a few other planets now, but you guys are supposed to be from Earth originally, so I’m seeing if they’ve evolved differently or anything. But you guys are quite bug-based, if I’m remembering correctly?”
“Shugods! See, there’s some now!”
Indeed, there were mechanical bug types scuttling along, making Yamato raise an eyebrow.
“I see…”
“You’re staying here tonight, and then tomorrow we’ll go to Toufu and Ishabana, since they have the most animals, I think!”
Jeramie appeared to be considering the statement before nodding in agreement.
“Sounds great, do you happen to have any books on animals I can look at? It’s okay if they aren’t in Japanese. And even kids’ books will do.”
Gira looked to Douga, who bowed and left.
“I asked if the others wanted to come greet you, but they said no, so you’ll meet them when we go to their kingdoms,” Gira said, leading Yamato to a table, where a fairly simple looking dinner was waiting.
“It’s just five kingdoms?” Yamato asked, accepting the plate that Jeramie gave him.
“Yeah, we’re much more connected than when I was a kid!”
“And far more than any other point in this planet’s rich history,” Jeramie added.
Yamato remembered his notes from the Kyoryugers, the ones given to him when they heard he was visiting Chikyuu, about Jeramie being over 2,000 years old. Theoretically, this would mean the animals should, if left to their own devices, be quite different from the ones on Earth, even if they shared DNA.
Should didn’t mean were, though. Yamato had seen enough planets with both the Gokaigers and the Kyuurangers to know that animals did their own thing. (Not to mention the nonsense that just went on on Earth, as well.)
“The books have been placed in your room, Yamato-san,” Douga said with a bow, having come in again.
“Thank you so much!” Yamato was looking forward to looking at them.
The meal was perfectly acceptable, Jeramie doing most of the talking while Gira looked on in open admiration.
After dinner and a bath, Yamato looked at the books, of which there were only a few, which seemed odd for a castle. He had been to both Ahim’s and Lucky’s castles and despite destruction, both had had more than this.

“Yamato-san, it is time for breakfast,” Douga called from the door.
“Yes, I’ll be there right away.”
Yamato made sure he had everything he needed in a backpack, then came out, wondering what animals he’d be seeing.
“Good morning, Yamato! Jeramie had to go see some stuff over in his kingdom, so it’s just us.”
Yamato nodded, finding that it was a very simple breakfast for a king.
“Are we leaving for Toufu right away or may I look at some of the animals you have here?”
“Oh, if you want to, sure! We’re not expected at a certain time or anything really.”
Yamato noticed Douga looked a little pained.
“Gira-sama, don’t forget that while Kaguragi-sama is...delighted to see you at any time, Himeno-sama might not share that opinion as much.”
“I can study the animals here another time, then,” Yamato said, belatedly remembering he probably wasn’t supposed to interrupt a king.
(This was much easier to remember with Ahim, and something he just sort of didn’t get the chance to do with Lucky and his energy.)
“We’ll go see Toufu right after this, then!” Gira said cheerfully, shoving a piece of toast in his mouth.
They took God Kuwagata over to Toufu, which was fairly similar to being in Cube Eagle, although Yamato had the feeling it wasn’t a full-team sort of mecha.
“Gira-dono! And Yamato-dono, was it?” was what greeted them when they touched down in a kingdom full of fields.
“Yes, Kaguragi-sama.”
“Oh, you don’t need to worry about that!” Kaguragi said, throwing an arm around Yamato. “It is animals you want to meet, is it not?”
Yamato gave a nod, wondering what he had gotten into this time.
“Prepare a feast for our guest, we shall eat once we are done!”
Kurokos immediately got into a flurry of activity as Yamato was steered to a particular field, Gira left behind.
“Is it okay if I take a few samples?” Yamato asked as he observed the what looked like completely normal cows.
“Of course, Yamato-dono! You are a respected scientist, are you not?”
Yamato wasn’t entirely sure about that one, but it was true that he had unique opportunities that other zoologists didn’t.
“However, you must try the milk! Come, taste it, freshly squeezed!”
Yamato made a mental note to never tell anyone from Hokkaido how good the milk was.

It wasn’t like he had all his equipment, but he was able to get hair samples, and took lots of pictures. It was farm animals, with no mention of any other type of wild animal, which was disappointing. He could see a few birds flying about, but it didn’t seem to be possible to go study them.
At the very least, the food in Toufu was delicious, Kaguragi cheerfully mentioning that he’d make sure to have food for Yamato to take home, and then he was off to Ishabana, this time with Kaguragi, Gira rushing off to Jeramie’s kingdom as far as Yamato could figure out.

“You wish to see animals, correct?” Himeno asked, from her couch. “We don’t have many, but you are welcome to see the few that we have.”
“I know you’re a kingdom of doctors, if there’s any veterinarians, that would also be helpful as well, Himeno-sama,” Yamato said from where he was kneeling. From the corner of his eye, he could see Kaguragi listening with interest.
“Sebas!”
“Yes, Himeno-sama?”
“Prepare a carriage for our guest.”
A bow from the man who had come at the call, and it was barely five minutes later that Yamato was helped inside. Instead of horses, it was a very fit man at a bicycle type of seat.
As they made their way through the streets, apparently making their way to some veterinarians, Yamato showed her some of the animals of Earth on his tablet, thinking that the aura of Ishabana kind of gave off one that would have peacocks. Himeno seemed interested in the pictures, but was put off by their mating calls, he found. Kaguragi had come along as well, looking at the various Earth animals over Yamato’s shoulder, much like Leo did.
As they passed picturesque houses, Yamato noticed that there were very very very few pets in the yards. While it wasn’t like every Tokyo house had pets, it wasn’t uncommon to see a cat or five in one block, not to mention a dog or two. Here, he was only seeing dogs, fancy ones, most certainly no odd mutts, all of them frolicking perfectly on a perfectly kept lawn.
“Do you have any zoos, Himeno-sama?” Yamato asked.
“What now?”
Yamato opened his mouth, and then closed it again. He wasn’t sure what to think. After all, they would have only taken domestic animals, wouldn’t they? But shouldn’t there be native animals somewhere? Shouldn’t there have been evolution somewhere? Even if it was just domestication?
He reminded himself again that he was on a team of Zyumans that came from a square dimension and let the question go.

“That’s incredible, actually, may I ask if you’ve kept any notes on this?” Yamato asked once he finished watching the veterinarian, who was named Royi, finish help treat what looked like a borzoi. “We could use this method in our zoos and help so many animals.”
“Of course, Yamato-san, would it be helpful to video-record as well?”
“If it’s not too much trouble, I would like that very much!”

“So, how was Ishabana?” Gira asked, having come to pick Yamato up for the day, Kaguragi back to his own kingdom.
“I think it’d be more interesting to a botanist than me, but very beautiful. And they had techniques I hadn’t considered for helping animal treatment.”

“Tomorrow we’re going to...Gokkun?”
“Gokkan! And N’Kosopa!”
Yamato nodded, turning his mind to the organization he wanted to do before going to more kingdoms.

“Animals, you say? Yeah, we don’t have a lot of those, though…”
“Are you sure? They might be very small, and white, if they’re mammals.”
“Yeah, no, mostly we have the legend of the Moffun soooo…”
“Moffun?”
Yamato found himself saddled with several books, a few DVDs, and definitely some scrolls, not from the woman he was currently talking to (who had yet to give her name), but from someone else.
“These should be sufficient about the legend of Moffun.”
“Thank...you?”
A nod, and the other person walked away, looking like they were holding themselves back from something.
“Rittan...honestly! They can never be honest about Moffun, but you didn’t hear that from me!”
“No, ma’am,” Yamato said politely, wondering what the heck had just happened. At least the books seemed to indicate that a Moffun was probably similar to a Yeti.

“Animals? Why would you study those?” asked the apparent President of the next kingdom Yamato found himself in, having been picked up by Shiokara, who had cheerfully explained that Yanma was the best during the ride in the Shugod over. However, as far as Yanma could tell, there was some computer thing happening and not much else.
“Don’t be like that, Prez!” Shiokara gasped.
“I have to deal with this, slack-jawed tanuki!”
“Oh! You guys have tanuki?”
“They’re in the slums, yeah. Some pigeons, too. The city mostly has some pets, I dunno, not like I had time for animals when all the shit went down.”
“May I see them?”
Yanma waved at Shiokara, which appeared to be a yes.

“There’s one, Yamato-san!” Shiokara said, pointing with his whole body.
Yamato quickly took several pictures, finding that maybe, perhaps, these had actually evolved to be more slack-jawed than the ones in Japan. Of course, without the means to capture any, he couldn’t be entirely sure, but it was at least SOME sort of difference after a bunch of what looked like negatives from the other kingdoms.
“You gonna write about our animals back on your Earth, then?” Shiokara asked as Yamato carefully followed the animal to take more pictures.
“It’ll be a section on a larger paper I’m writing about animals from different planets, yes.”
“WOW! That’s so cool, Yamato-san!”
Yamato smiled at the excited man, wondering if he asked, maybe he could get a tanuki captured for a later visit, with more, better equipment.
He was just about to ask when he found himself wrapped in white webbing, Shiokara making an extremely surprised face and then waving excitedly to Jeramie, who was the one apparently capturing Yamato.

“Sorry about that, but I saw you looking at my arm, and since you’re only here for a short while, you may look it over.”
“Really?”
“We unfortunately do not have other animals other than bugs down here,” Jeramie replied, arms gesturing to the underground caverns they were currently in. “And I can tell you, over the 2,000 years I have been here, many animals have unfortunately not been considered important and have gone extinct.”
“I’m sorry, did you say 2,000 years?”

Talking and running tests on Jeramie ended up being the most fascinating experience, especially considering that Jeramie was a lot more patient than the Zyumans. Yamato’s head spun as he made sure to document as much as he possibly could.
(Part of him wished he was a specialist in bugs, but he’d find the appropriate people back on Earth, and either way, Jeramie was a great storyteller.)

A last night spent at Gira’s castle again, Gira having apparently searched the other kingdoms for Yamato, and it was time for Yamato to go home, the leaders apparently all coming to see him off.
“Hey, Yamato!” Lucky called from his ball mecha thing this time, no motorcycle to be found. “Hello other fellow kings!”
“Fellow king?” Himeno asked.
“A feast!” Kaguragi declared. “Before you two leave our bountiful planet!”
“All right, lucky!”

Orion (M, Adaptable srp, Different character options in starter): Orion blinked and smiled holding up his camera, glancing at Mima, "Would you like a photo with them, ma'am?" He whispered. He always put his boss first and he knew that they were on the way out, but he was happy to work overtime for her as long as she wanted him to.
Mima-rin: "Of course! I owe you one, Orion!" She led the fans to a wall and posed with them. "Anything for my fans!"
Orion (M, Adaptable srp, Different character options in starter): Orion nodded happily. Working for an idol of whom he himself had been a long time fan was a dream come true. He probably would have done any task she asked of him. "Those are amazing outfits, girls!" He lined up the shot carefully to keep all of them in frame.
Mima-rin: "Thank you!" The Lina Inverse cosplayer responded with a blush. "Say cheese, girls!" Mima cheerfully asked as the girls held up V-signs for the photo. At the last second, Mima slid one hand down to get a good grasp of Kami-Sama's ass and snaked another one to grope of Ryuko's breasts, much to their flustered surprised.

Orion (M, Adaptable srp, Different character options in starter): Orion blushed, a bit excited by having a front row seat to four gorgeous women posing for his camera. "I'll take a few more." He started moving back and forth to line up slightly different angles. Some of the shots made Mima's hands feeling up the girls a bit more noticeable. Pulling out his phone from his pocket, Orion looked around at the three cosplayers, "If you have Instagram, I can tag you all in the photos when all the event coverage is posted."
Mima-rin: "That will be amazing!" Kami-Sama said with a blush. "Say, Lina-chan, why don't you come over here for a double picture? I thought of something funny..." Mima said with a kind look at Lina. "M-me?" Lina was confused but went over regardless. When she got there, Mima pushed her on her shoulders to put her on her knees. She then brought her head closer to her crotch where a shocked Lina discovered that, under her favorite idol's skirt, she wasn't wearing panties. "Orion, you can snap the picture now!" Mima said cheerfully, holding Lina's head.

Orion (M, Adaptable srp, Different character options in starter): He blinked, a little confused. Though, he obeyed her without hesitation, laying down and relaxing, looking up at the four ladies. He blushed brightly when he noticed that Mima was not wearing panties. He also immediately felt a bit ashamed that he had a very clear view up Ryuko's skirt too.

Bookshelf Briefs 8/26/21
Captivated, By You | By Yama Wayama | Yen Press – A collection of short stories that originally ran in the magazine Comic Beam, they all take place around the same school and feature some of the same cast intermingling with each other, but each can also be read as a standalone. This is not a BL title, but I’d say it’s BL-adjacent, and there are several relationships that you could see going that way. My favorites included a social media relationship done via cut-out “kidnapper” letters, a man trying to reinvent himself in high school… as the creepy dude everyone avoids, and a bullied kid trying to get petty revenge on his bully but being unable to because he’s too decent a person at heart. The stories vary in quality, but the collection overall is very nice. – Sean Gaffney
Days on Fes, Vol. 2 | By Kanato Oka | Yen Press This continues to hit at what it does best, showing off how awesome it can be to go to a music festival. You can hear things you’d never even knew existed, and you might even run into the singer of your favorite band incognito inside the crowd. Will romantic sparks fly?? Well, probably not, because honestly our two girls seem to be really into each other—as with Captivated, By You, this is not yuri or BL but it is yuri and BL-adjacent, as each pair of leads makes an awesome couple but isn’t actually one. If there’s one complaint it’s that so far this is almost entirely on the fan side of things. There’s a suggestion that might change, as we do get a few pages of one band, but I’d like to see more actual music—and more struggles. -Sean Gaffney
Happy Kanako’s Killer Life, Vol. 1 | By Toshiya Wakabayashi | Seven Seas – This is a black, black comedy, and if you find the idea of a happy-go-lucky girl killing people appalling, best to skip it. That said, if you do like black comedy, it’s wonderful. Kanako is an OL who just quit her job and finds that the new one she answered the ad for… is a hit man. Her first target… is her old boss. And she’s really good at killing people. Plus, it’s got great pay, and you get to go out and have meat and alcohol afterwards. Oh yes, and the book is filled with weird animal puns—and the animals appear behind Kanako as she says them, so the translation must have been FUN. This isn’t for everyone, but it’s gleefully silly and dark as hell, as you watch Kanako sink further and further to the dark side. – Sean Gaffney
Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Vol. 20 | By Aka Akasaka | Viz Media – It’s Valentine’s Day, and as you can imagine that means different things to different people in this book. We also find out that Maki is actually one of the most respected students on campus… it’s just we’ve only ever seen her reflected through her hilarious unrequited love, so we don’t get it (and neither do the main cast). Also, exam results are out, which means that Ishigami gets to show off the results of Kaguya’s tutoring… and Shirogane, who’s dropped to twelfth because he’s narrowing his focus to studying English for Stanford. Believe me, there’s still plenty of silliness, mostly from Fujiwara, but the characters are beginning to grow up and throw off the shackles of the past… or have it done for them. – Sean Gaffney
Komi Can’t Communicate, Vol. 14 | By Tomohito Oda | Viz Media – Sometimes this series has a long-running arc, and sometimes it just coasts along on pure cute. This volume is one of the latter, and it is very, very cute indeed, which is the main reason people are reading the title, but does make things a bit difficult to pick out to review. Komi and Tadano remain the best couple who aren’t one, and everyone can see it. Manbagi is also clearly very much in denial about her own crush on Tadano, and I anticipate the next arc will be dealing with that. Najimi remains obnoxious but fun, Yamai remains obnoxious and not fun. If you’ve enjoyed other volumes, this is an obvious one to get. And it sure is cute, isn’t it? – Sean Gaffney
Medalist, Vols. 1-2 | By Tsurumaikada | Kodansha Comics (digital only) – Even if the story in this series weren’t great, I’d likely still be recommending it solely based on the art, which is frequently stunning, and has beautifully characterized expressions. Fortunately, the story is also excellent. A former ice dancer who was never quite able to go pro discovers a young girl who is trying desperately, despite her mother’s misgivings, to be an Olympic figure skater. Like a lot of lead girls in this sort of series, she’s not got a lot of knowledge but has a great deal of raw talent and iron will. Together, the two of them try to pull each other out of the depression they were in. The girl being eight years old means there’s a lack of mentor-mentee romance you might get if she were a teen. This is just sweet. – Sean Gaffney
Night Bus | By Zuo Ma | Drawn & Quarterly – Finding independent Chinese comics translated into English is something of a rarity, so I was very excited to see that Zuo Ma’s Night Bus was being released. I had previously encountered Zuo Ma’s work in the underground Chinese comic anthology Naked Body published by Paradise Systems. Drawn & Quarterly’s edition of Night Bus, translated and with ending notes by Orion Martin (founder of Paradise Systems), actually gathers stories from two of Zuo Ma’s books: Walk, a collection of ten short works, and an updated and expanded version of the long-form comic Night Bus. In these stories, Zuo Ma frequently incorporates semi-autobiography, fantastical dreamscapes, and the supernatural, working and reworking themes and ideas throughout the volume. Elements of reality and unreality are interwoven and fused in powerful, visceral ways, capturing intense emotions of anxiety and dread, but also evoking a sense of nostalgia. Night Bus is an unsettling, riveting, and compelling collection. – Ash Brown
Queen’s Quality, Vol. 12 | By Kyousuke Motomi | Viz Media – The series works best when it’s equating the stresses and paranoia of the inner mind with outer monsters to match. Sometimes, though, it’s just a bunch of fighting, and the monsters seem to be there just to be antagonists. Fortunately, there’s still our two leads, who remain the best thing about this series. Kyutaro is trying his best to retain his sense of self, and fortunately he has Fumi to help, who is happy to go all the way with him, although perhaps not with the snake inside him. They don’t, however, and Fumi ends up getting her best moments when she shows off what a vicious badass she’s become. That said, the danger of this series is it doesn’t come out often enough, so I forget the plot a lot. – Sean Gaffney
Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts, Vol. 13 | By Yu Tomofuji | Yen Press – The start of this volume is a lot of fun, as Sariphi ends up dealing with a tsundere female version of his highness, a woman who is said to have beast ancestry in her past and thus is accused of being evil. Given that this series tends to run on pure Fruits Basket, it’s no surprise that Sariphi is able to help with the pure power of shininess. All is not well back home, though, and it’s becoming pretty clear that endgame is going to be revealing the King’s other form as an excuse for executing him… and I would not be surprised if they blame Sariphi for it. This is still very good, and remains a wonderful reminder of the days when we always got piles of Hana to Yume manga like it. – Sean Gaffney
Sazan & Comet Girl | By Yuriko Akase | Seven Seas – Perhaps the most striking aspect of Sazan & Comet Girl is that the all of the artwork is in full color. Akase’s watercolor illustrations of planetary and interstellar backgrounds in particular are simply gorgeous. Story-wise, however, Sazan & Comet Girl isn’t particularly innovative, primarily revisiting and combining familiar tropes and character types of its genre. Even so, the volume is still great fun, coming across as a nostalgic, loving homage to older science fiction media. The entire series has been released as a single omnibus volume in English and doesn’t have obvious chapter breaks, so once the story gets going it just goes and keeps going, shifting from romantic comedy into action adventure before returning fully to its underlying love story. Sazan is goofball of a lead and Mina, the titular comet girl, is an endearing heroine—apart from the artwork, the manga is at its best when focusing on them. – Ash Brown
This Wonderful Season with You | By Atsuko Yusen | TOKYOPOP – Junpei Enoki is a bespectacled nerd who belongs to the electronic engineering club. Ryousuke Shirataki, a “normie” with a reputation for being cool and manly, is searching for something after an injury ruined his baseball prospects. After Shirataki joins the club, they get to know each other and, ultimately, fall in love. The tone is mostly comedic, with an art style that reminds me a bit of vintage shounen, and I really liked that some characters who seem like comic relief end up being important. I also loved how each boy has an unexpected side to him that the other sees immediately while others fail to notice. Shirataki appeared aloof, but he was actually suffering, and it’s so nice at the end to see him goofy and happy. I could’ve done without the final sex chapter, but aside from that, this was great. – Michelle Smith
