hi <3 im back with another hyper specific au <3 information under the cut

specifically this au is. gordon lives in a beaten down house thats next to an abandoned graveyard. he starts feeling kind of bad for the overgrown and dirty graves so he starts cleaning the graves regularly and stuff. the science team are a bunch of ghosts who follow him around as he cleans every night.

joshua is integral to this au - he's the only one who can see the ghosts. he talks to them regularly but kids are creepy and have weird imaginary friends so gordon doesnt think much of it.

that is until he hits his head and suddenly - oh god he can see them too. his son has been talking to ghosts for a year oh jesus fuck.

(also theres gay little frenrey moments in this as well bc im gay. the locket benrey has around his neck is from his lover from HIS time - who gordon is the reincarnation of. not that either of them know that. yet.) i'm going to draw the rest of the crew tomorrow, but i was really excited to show these off now >:)c if you have any questions abt the au PLEASE ask me i would love to talk about it

Where do Darnold and Frozen fall in the ghost au??

wow it took me so long to answer this i am so sorry.

gestures ! well !

in this au, darnold and forzen and gordon’s only ‘alive’ friends ! they’ve all been friends since highschool or so ! 

in this au, darnold’s passion is robotics, not potions (though he does make a wonderful drink when he’s given the chance). he found his passion for robotics when he was younger, when he met gordon in a robotics club in their freshman year. gordon ended up dropping the club, but it ignited a passion in darnold, and he followed it all the way to his university of choice. he’s currently studying for a masters in robotic engineering, and he makes his living as a part-time bartender. 

gordon is also training to become a teacher in this au! he wants to be a college-level professor, but he’s debating dealing with younger students first to sort of ‘prepare’ himself.

forzen, on the other hand [when this au takes place], has very recently left military service. at the end of highschool, when he saw his friends planning their lives and chasing their ambitions - he didn’t really see a place for him to go. he enjoyed art, sure, but that’s a difficult field to make your living in. when he was approached by a military recruitment officer and offered an ‘option’, who was he to deny? obviously it didn’t go great, and he’s now back home living on darnold’s couch and trying to follow his passions in art.

Hello, I saw your ghost au and i fell in love with it! I got a couple of questions if you dont mind: how does gordon hit his head, and upon being able to see ghosts, does he meet benrey?

1. i assume its something along the lines of like. he trips while he's in the graveyard and it rattles his brain around HRGEJEJ im assuming like. Joshua can Already See Ghosts, right. and im making it like. Gordon can also see ghosts but he's been repressing it so hard bc That's Weird. but when he gets hit it just kind of. knocks the repression back.

2. he meets all the ghosts! i actually have a fun lil comic idea planned out of How he meets everyone - however benrey 100% doesnt recognize like. 'This Is A Reincarnation Of G' at first bc i live for drama and i want them to have feelings first b4 they realize bc i don't want benrey to just be like "ybrbrbr you Have to love me its Fated" bc thats weird <3

you’re fine!! i love the questions dw :o) !!

no, actually she doesn’t live with Gordon! She mostly comes and goes as she pleases, though she makes a point to visit the graveyard every week or so. Gordon leaves food and water out next to Tommy’s grave, because that’s where she tends to spend the most of her time - He assumes it’s one of those heartwarming stories about the dogs who visit their master’s place of rest and he tends to leave her alone.
