having adhd be like *is scared of your own mind*
#adhd#hello. i am thinking about how i have been on concerta every week day since i was 15#oh except for the holidays#which is when i would gain. large amounts of weight#u see i would lose my appetite on the pill#concerta would. snap whatever connection there was between my hunger in my stomach and my brain#i just wouldn’t feel it#and no one would force me to eat in school and my parents didn’t care#my dad thought it was great. lol.#when i went off the pill for extended periods of time my body would overcompensate by stuffing myself and i would gain back the weight#and then some. and also when i’m on the pill i just hate myself and no one really likes me all that much either.#i literally become dull. my mind becomes..... quiet. and i just. become less of a person. i do whatever is ‘necessary’ and don’t do much els#it’s a horrible way to exist!! it is!! there’s many more things but i just.#it’s so strange to have people around me who only knew concerta me. to be like. oh ur so quiet and mellow :) what a calm person who sucks :)#i hated it i did i would never sing when i was on concerta even because i never felt the urge. it feels so soulless#when i started college i took concerta more sparingly. staggered. maybe 3/5 days in the week day.#it was a mistake. the dissonance between pill me and non pill me would just be really weird#i’d even take expired pills which i suppose were less effective#it made me all kinds of bad especially since i was doing a degree that i had no prior experience in#and had no passion for. that i barely put work into. by normal people standards#anyway..... even when i decided to do linguistics i wasn’t doing great#i went off the pill last semester?#+ covid made everything weird + i was teaching#so my grades fucking suck lmao#and i’m realizing that this is the first time since i was 15 that i’ve been indefinitely pill-less. and it’s a big painful reminder that#i cannot function the way normal humans do. there are things concerta me is capable of that adhd me isn’t. there’s things adhd me can do#that concerta me can’t. but even then it’s so funny because concerta me has adhd too. she does weird ass stupid shit. i fucking hate her#but even i have to admit she’s more suited for. functionality. than adhd me#and i’m sitting here thinking. maybe it’s time to stop kidding myself#maybe it’s time to just...... sell my soul and just not exist as myself. i don’t know how long that will be

Goal weight? Or what is it?
I sometimes ask myself, how could I qualify my behaviour at the moment. Am I relapsing? Am I just losing weight? What is going on?
And, to be honest, I can’t particularly answer those questions.
On one hand, I’m seeking a BMI of 18.5 because it is a comforting stat. Not because I think I’m fat - I like my body at the moment. Being on the verge of underweight is like a dream for me. Every reflection I would see of myself would just give me a confidence boost. I won’t feel shame because of my thighs and would go on with my day happier. If other things go wrong with my life, I can calm myself down knowing that I’m pretty and thin, and it just makes me feel better about myself. Once again, the idea of control is very charming to me. 
On the other hand, I do not have intrusive, obsessive thoughts. I don’t have the anorexia voice or anything. When I eat, I do not feel guilt. I am happy, I can focus on my personal projects, and the bigger thing getting in my way is drug use. 
Yes, I did use a lot of DXM in the past month. It’s a dissociative found in cough medicine. I usually get those Robitussin pills from the drug store and take all of them for a trip. It feels good, I’m very relaxed and creative under the influence. 300 mg of DXM works wonders for me, yet it is getting quite expensive over time and I won’t be against stopping,
However, comes the question of, does DXM make my behaviour less obsessive? How would my behaviour change if I stopped taking DXM? Is my weight and appetite influenced by drug use? These are the questions that make me scared of quitting DXM. What if I quit and gain weight? 
Obviously, the fear of weight gain isn’t a good sign. I do not love myself at any size - I love myself thin only. However, I know when to stop. I do not have extremely unhealthy goals. 
Anyways, this is something to figure out for me. It is important because I need to know if this behaviour can be maintained (because I really wish it could!), if it just easy right now because I got my medicine, if it will stop being easy without DXM. I’m hoping I just grew and can look at things in a less black and white way. Not go into serious restriction like I did in June - I did that due to stress.
Stress = intense ED behaviour = breaking down, being sad = not good

hey dennis goo morning! just wanted to hopefully give u some advice about the add stuff. it's better to just tell them what it's like on ur worst days and leave it at that. that way they take it more seriously. i ended up getting my meds and it helped me a lot so hopefully it'll help u too good luck 🍀 and also just a side note: they tend to keep u awake so it might be a good idea to get some sleeping pills from ur actual dr if u don't have any. and make sure u eat bc u can lose ur appetite.
thank you for this!! yeah i have a lot of examples of the worst ways i’m affected. i’m still paranoid he’ll tell me nothing’s wrong lol but that would be ridiculous so i’d just find somebody else.....i just wanna do well in school and with my job. but also something tells me this dude’s not gonna care much and will probably just give me the green light for meds.
yeah my psych NP is going with vyvanse instead of adderall bc the latter is dangerous if you’re bipolar and/or have eating disorders, hopefully it’ll be less stimulating and not suppress my appetite as much. but i guess it stays in your system longer and at a more stable level so it’ll help with depression too. i’ll ask him about sleeping and see if he thinks i should take something else, but i have a problem of needing like 12 hours of sleep per night anyway so i wouldn’t mind if the vyvanse cuts that down!!

ASDKLJSDF ‣ raine & minhee aesthetics: pastel, flowers, plants, fairy lights ‣ raine & minhee are the Most wholesome. truly. neither of them are overbearing or rough around the edges. they both have v fragile and big hearts. rather than someone who tries to protect her or shield her, what minhee really wants is someone whose her equal, who will support her and who she can support, who will love her with all the love they have :((  ‣ all of them are cuddly sleepers ‣ ys has a bad tendency to start self destructing when put under a lot of pressure. regular pressure and stress he’s okay with bc he has a semblance of mental fortitude but when it comes to i.e. his parents it’s easy for him to start to internally combust. this kind of thing always starts w him being like slightly more irritable than usual, not enough to rlly concern anyone. then it grows into sleeping less and devoting an unhealthy amount of time on activities sure to keep his mind busy i.e. studies. then he loses appetite. then he starts skipping nights of sleep entirely and taking pills to sleep consecutively for like 3 days straight to make up for it. he has v bad coping mechanisms bc he was the only authority figure in his life, and therefore can’t break free from bad habits ?? but eventually ezra starts picking up on these things, esp weird things like aversion to light and increased fidgeting and is a v important part of kind of guiding ys away from his Other fate (read: letting his hatred for his parents consume him to the point where it becomes toxic, he becomes toxic, and his entire life is devoted to punishing them either legally or u know ,, just slaughtering them) to one where he has to let go of what his parents did and part with the idea that it’s his responsibility to hurt them and go to therapy to keep himself from falling back into that habit and :(( once he does and he starts letting go of that animosity it makes him happier and everyone can tell that he’s happier bc he smiles a lot more and he just looks more at east ??? ouch ??? it’s canon that ezra always takes ys to his therapy appointments and says he did good even if ys said nothing for the 2 hrs and always waits for him to take him home :(( but like :(( ezra is his home :(( ouch 2 ‣ raine & minhee’s idea of a fun date activity is making each other flash cards for their respective med school / law school tests and decorating them ,, nerds

The Death of the Innocent

“just look at him” Mrs. Glass said tearfully to her husband. The silence that followed those four simple words was penetrating. You could hear nothing but the steady beep of the ventilator. After what felt like forever he responded “I know, I know”. “but why? He was happy” she picked up the suicide note to read it again. dear mom and dad, I want to say I will miss you but that would be a lie. I just can’t deal with it anymore. nobody understands me. And nobody is here for me. goodbye forever, signed Jason. Mrs. Glass folded the note back up with tears flowing down her cheeks. “He’s not gone he is still here with us, and he will make it”. Mrs. Glass looked up at her husband as he said this statement with intense passion but also rather clear uncertainty. Just then the door swung open and the doctor walked in “I have news, your boy will live”, “oh, thank god”,” but there is only so much we can do, those pills he took caused an infection in his liver, we caught it in the early process and we can definitely slow it down, but only for a couple of years. I’m sorry Mrs. Glass”.  
 Jason opened his eyes slowly, what am I doing here? How did I get here? He looked at his mom standing there with a tear streaked face. “Mom what’s going on” is what he tried to say what came out was “Mmmo…”. Have I been in an accident? He tried to recall the day before, but he couldn’t remember anything. It was just at that moment that Mrs. Glass noticed her son was awake. “JASON” she screamed and threw her arms around him practically strangling him. she pulled back and looked him in the eyes, with tears still pouring down her own. “we love you son we really really do”. Jason was taken aback by this open display of affection. Obviously, he knew his parents loved him but it was rarely displayed in the open. Are you okay mom he whispered after he finally found his voice. “Yes I’m fine,” she said smiling while wiping away her tears. Mrs. Glass stood up abruptly” I am going to find your father and tell him the good news”. As she was walking out a note fell out of her purse. Maybe this will help me figure out what’s going on. He carefully got out of bed. He didn’t have a lot of pain only a weird feeling in his stomach. He picked up the note and began to read, Dear mom and dad…
 Jason wracked his brain for when he could have possibly written this. “I don’t remember writing this…” he said aloud to nobody. “I definitely didn’t write this” he said more certainly. But it’s my handwriting, he was thoroughly perplexed, this makes no sense. He tried to recall what had happened the day before. He had woken up, had a regular day at school. After school, he went to the park to hang out with his friends Zack and Georgie. Neither of them ended up showing, so Jason turned to go home, then suddenly a sickeningly sweet smell overpowered him and welcoming darkness followed. Then he woke up here. It hit him so hard he almost fainted. Someone tried to murder him, and frame it as a suicide.
  But how did he get my handwriting? Jason wondered. Maybe Its someone I know who can copy my handwriting? Or maybe he made me write it and I don’t remember? Just then Mrs. Glass walked inside her son’s room, holding a croissant and an iced coffee. She smiled but her eyes were puffy a clear sign that she was crying. “Mom, I didn’t try to kill myself,” he said forcibly. “I know sweetheart” she tried smiling but her face crumpled and more tears started falling. She quickly handed him the food and bolted
My life is in actual danger. He thought terrified the real murderer can come back whenever he wants to finish the job. He tried getting out of bed. He felt a sharp pang in his stomach right over his left thigh, but aside from that, he felt fine. No headaches or dizziness that u would expect from being drugged or overdosed. He took the croissant and took a bite, some people lose their appetite in a crisis, Jason just got hungrier. he finished the food just as the nurse walked in. “Luckily young man, there will be no long-lasting complications due to your attempted suicide”. The nurse told Jason, “we already spoke to your parents, you will see a therapist once a week, doctor’s orders”. “I didn’t try to kill myself though,” he said desperately. “that’s a first” she rolled her eyes “attention seeking brat” she muttered as she walked out. “Will nobody believe me?” he said desperately. “I believe you” Jason looked up. He was not alone.

Unfortunately, the business behind 18Shake, 18Nutrition, has an even poorer reputation with us than meal replacement shakes do. The company have an F rating on the Better Business Bureau website, and complaints about them include being overcharged for products, being lied to by customer service representatives, being refused a refund, having a 20% restocking fee deducted from a refund (despite it being due to their own error), and hanging up on customers mid-conversation. That’s if you can get hold of them at all, as the company is notorious for rarely answering the phone.
The company claim to offer a 30 days money back guarantee. There are so many restrictions and loopholes, however, that it really makes a mockery of the word ‘guarantee’. Even if customers can get a refund, they will not get all of their money back, due to the hefty 20% restocking fee.

I’ve added almond milk, peanut butter, banana and expresso powder in different combinations to improve the taste, but nothing helps much. I basically chug it as fast as i can to get it over with. Ill stick with it as its too expensive to quit and it does seem to help curb hunger to some extent. You really do need to use a blender to mix it. Just shaking, no matter how vigorous, results in chunks. I will have to follow up on effectiveness later.

For most of us we are just trying to lose weight and get back to our former selves. Maybe it’s because as we’ve gotten older our metabolism has slowed. Or we’ve just had a baby and are wanting to shed the extra pounds.  Or maybe we’re just trying to look better on the beach. For others it may be a matter of wanting to drop a little more than just those vanity pounds.
Most of us are aware of the foods we are supposed to eat whether we want to lose 10 pounds or a hundred, right?
  We have all heard that we should watch our carbs, eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and quit the sodas. So for most of us the real challenge isn’t knowing which foods we should be eating. The real challenge is being able to change our habits.

His father died from a massive heart attack at 42, and Paradiso realized he was on the same path unless he made a big change. “I said to myself, ‘I need to take a drastic U-turn in my life if I’m going to make it to age 40,’” he recalls.
“Early on it was a big adjustment,” he says. “My body was so used to eating how I had been eating that it was rebelling at first. It was a rough first few weeks.” He’d crave more food at night, but no matter how miserable he felt, he wouldn’t let himself raid the fridge. “I’d tell myself, ‘I’m not working this hard to sabotage myself,’” he recalls.
Instead of giving into a craving for unhealthy food, he’d look up recipes for lighter, healthier alternatives. “That would be enough to cure my craving without blowing my calorie budget for the day,” he explains. Instead of ordering a pizza, for example, he’d top a low-carb pita with tomato sauce and some cheese.
Working out also became a challenge. Due to the excess weight he carried, his joints had degenerated. He started light walks at first. But it takes time and effort to choose recipes, go to the store, and cook. Take a close look at your weekly schedule to see if you can carve out a few hours to devote to meal planning and shopping, which is more than half the battle. It could be on Sunday afternoon or in 15- to 30-minute increments throughout the week.
