“ow, careful there, brat.”
your husband’s deep voice echoes from within the bathroom. you’ve left megumi in his care this morning so you’d be able to make breakfast in peace. toji was all grumpy about it, since he had to wake up early when he had no work, but eventually agreed to your proposal.
you hum your favorite song while frying eggs. the sizzling in the pan did help avert your attention from toji’s grunts of annoyance somewhere in the distance, though only for a couple seconds. your hear your child’s laughter slip between the noises of aggravation. it piques your interest.
“one more time and i’m putting y’r ass in time out,” toji’s deep voice sounds muffled. he sounds rather serious about whatever is bothering him.
you turn the stove off and walk towards the hallway, standing at the doorframe as you look in the direction of the bathroom. you tilt your head and try your best to pick up on snippets of the conversation between your husband and son.
the sound of bottles dropping on the floor is the first thing that allows you to guess that megumi’s acting up. you know how mischievous your little toddler can get, especially at his age. toji isn’t one to gentle parent his kid—he tries to, of course, but sometimes he can’t help but be a bit rough.
“megumi fushiguro.”
you raise your eyebrows as toji uses your child’s full name. he rarely does, only when he’s really upset or about to lose his marbles. you decide to see what was going on for yourself. you walk towards the bathroom, cleaning your hands against the material of your apron. you knock once before pushing the door open.
you stick your head through the little gap, ready to identify the cause of the commotion. the first thing you notice is the chaos on the floor; bottles, tubes, toothbrushes, and all other kinds of products lay cluttered on the bathroom tiles.
your eyes then land on your husband’s broad and scarred back, “hey, honey. did something hap—”
your voice trails off once toji turns around, revealing the jaw dropping scene. nearly his entire face is covered in loads of shaving cream and even his black hair hasn’t escaped the soft foam.
the bathroom counter is completely wet, and the water runs down the edges in small drops. the culprit of this entire scene is sitting right on that same counter, clapping his dirty hands together that were smeared with toji’s shaving cream.
you blink and walk towards the two. you can’t possibly be mad at the sight, finding toji’s situation more funny than worrisome. You try to act serious and clear your throat, “uh, yeah. so what’s happened here?”
your husband rolls his eyes and nods his head at the little boy in front of him, who’s giggling and kicking his legs. toji tries to wipe the shaving cream from his nose, attempting to get it out of his hair as well, “i tried to be a good dad and include him in my morning routine, that’s what.”
the man clicks his tongue as he now realises how dumb of a mistake that was, “gave him the opportunity to put some shaving foam on my jaw ‘n the brat totally blew it. started attackin’ me with the stuff.”
toji grumbles. he wipes away the foam that got on the mirror afterwards. it’s nearly gotten everywhere. he lightly nudges megumi’s forehead with a scoff, “never again, y’hear? the little shit can’t sit still for even one second.”
that explains the stuff on the floor. you know that megumi could grow bored easily if he isn’t the centre of attention. he’d start doing anything to be the focus of his parents. toji probably didn’t pay him much mind, wanting to get his morning routine over with.
“language, honey.” you sigh and look down at megumi who’s still reaching his messy hands up to his dad.
toji huffs and leans back, not giving the little boy a chance to put more shaving cream on his face. he’s learnt his lesson; kids do not understand it when you tell them to ‘only put a little bit’.
megumi whines and threatens to throw a tantrum. you notice that immediately and try to keep his mind off things by picking him up. you turn on the faucet and try to wash his little hands, “c’mon. give mama your hands.”
the little boy shakes his head furiously, squirming in your embrace in attempt to get away. you sigh and grab his little wrists gently. you lower him to the sink, trying your best to wash away the shaving cream as the first step of solving this grande mess.
“no, mama!” megumi is stubborn as he voices his complains. toji watches from a distance whilst he struggles to clean the overload of shaving cream from his face.
you make the mistake of letting go of your child’s wrists to grab a washcloth. megumi takes his chance and pats his messy hands against your face, leaving you no space to process what he’s doing.
your mind takes a second before you realise what’s happening, “hey! quit it, ‘gumi.”
you try to grab ahold of megumi’s tiny hands again, but they move too fast for you. plus, he’s pretty skilled at avoiding yours. you can feel the foam slowly cover your entire face; from your jaw and cheeks, to your nose and forehead.
it was inevitable at this point.
“toji, do something,” you grunt and struggle to contain the energetic toddler in your arms. you take a peek at your husband and find him grinning at the predicament you’ve gotten yourself in.
toji simply shrugs and enjoys the fact that you’re experiencing exactly what he had experienced just moments ago. seeing you struggle to contain your disobedient child only proves that his parenting skills are not the problem in this situation, your toddler is.
“ye did that to y’rself, mama.” toji hums in amusement. he leans against the wall, the blue towel now loosely hanging off head after he’s given up on getting the foam out of his hair, “now y’know what i’m talkin’ about. he’s a lil’ monster.”
megumi squeals in victory after he’s gotten both his parents covered in shaving cream. you want to say something to your child, but you’re at a loss for words. even now, you cannot bring yourself to be mad at him. he’s just a kid who’s having fun with his parents.
“i made mama pretty! hehe.” megumi grins and encourages you to look in the mirror. he points at your reflection and awaits the words of confirmation. his blue eyes look up at you, nearly sparkling with joy, admiring how pretty he’s made you look with that white foam all over your face.
toji joins in on the fun. he comes to stand behind you, looking at you through the mirror. he snickers, already forgotten about his irritations that occurred in the first place. he nods in approval at megumi’s words, “gotta agree, son. y’r mama looks much prettier like this.”
your husband’s teasing comment adds fuel to the fire. though again, you cannot bring yourself to be upset at the situation.
you look at the reflection in the dirty mirror. you all may appear disheveled due to the foamy mess on your bodies—and yet even at that moment—the only thing you actually manage to see is a happy family of three.

blame the “hitting on your mom as a punishment” tiktok i just saw that literally blew my brain up. established because they’re disgustingly in love and because i say so
Eddie would normally consider himself pretty immune to the roar of arguing teenagers. Chaos surrounds their little Party. They’re not a quiet bunch when all together. It’s all shoving and yelling, giggling and roughhousing. Carpet-burned battle scars from the floor of Steve’s living room.
Lord knows Eddie himself wasn’t an inside-voice kind of person. He was certainly wont to standing on coffee tables and screeching demands for the remote when it was unjustly stolen away by villainous hands.
Eddie loved these people to death, and they were a lot of fucking fun to hang out with, it’s just this...this was an unreal level of noise. A normal sleepover night turned a little too rowdy, the adolescents celebrating the start of Summer with a bang.
Steve had already asked them to keep it down four times this evening. Nothing seemed to calm them. Not requests. Not threats of being sent home. Usually their Dungeon Master threatening their characters’ souls did the trick, but no go.
Getting teenagers to listen? A feat more impossible than defeating creatures from an alternate universe.
Dustin and Erica were in a bitching match about the best D&D class. Lucas and Mike had been fighting over movie choices for the last half hour. Eddie’s money was on the VHS player breaking before that, the constant mishandling and shoving of tapes had the poor thing practically smoking.
Will, ever the diplomat, was trying to be an impartial party when asked his movie opinions. Which, of course, caused more yelling.
Max and El had been the only ones being semi-quiet, but that quickly ended when they followed through on their surprise attack pillow fight, pummeling the boys senseless and causing the already unbearable volume to kick into overdrive. Eddie could practically feel Steve’s migraine building, even from where the dude had retreated to the kitchen. Dinner had been pizza. Quick. Easy. Clean. Or, it would have been if it hadn’t had been for the food fight. Steve was still in there scrubbing cheese out of his parents’ tiled backsplash. Dishes clattered in the distance when the cacophony hit its crescendo.
It was the proverbial straw.
“Alright, that’s it! Hey. Come on, guys. Knock it off,”
Nothing.
“HEY!”
He maybe overdid it that time, but the absolute ear-splitting boom of a yell he let out stopped the ruckus dead.
Silence rang for a beat.
Huh. Maybe Eddie should try out incorporating that into his music. He honestly hadn’t known he could get to that range.
The teenagers in the room stared at him, not cowed in the slightest, but curious enough to know what the hell Eddie’s problem was. Max was the first one to quirk an eyebrow at him.  “Geez, need attention much?”
Eddie folded his arms to show he meant business. “Steve has asked you guys to tone it down. You’re waking the fucking dead. Why don’t you guys, like, actually go be good human beings and help him clean up your mess you all made in the kitchen, huh?”
Lucas snorted. “Yeah, okay, mom. Why don’t you go help him, you guys will probably just make out in there, anyway.”
It was a teasing comment. Meant to jokingly rib before getting back to doing whatever the hell they wanted to do.
But, see. That just gave him an idea.
Never let it be said Eddie couldn’t be creative with his punishments. He was a DM after all.
“Alllllllright. New plan. Listen up or suffer, ankle biters,”
He really didn’t appreciate the snickers that brought about when he was trying to be intimidating. Rude.
“You going to send us to our room or something? I’m real scared,” Erica’s scathing, dry wit was unparalleled, truly.
“Nope. Better. It’s a new rule: You little shitheads give me attitude and don’t listen, I hit on your babysitter.”
It was silent for a minute, brains audibly computing that statement and coming up ERROR. Will hesitantly spoke up.
“Uh, Eddie, I really don’t think that’s--”
“Yeah, what the fuck?” Mike interrupted. “Why would you beating up Steve hurt us? I mean, like, I guess it would emotionally, but that’s fucked up, man.”
Eddie rolled his eyes, still smirking wickedly as his plan solidified.  “Oh, I don’t mean that kind of hitting, young Wheeler. Though, it may yet get physical--Hey, Steve?” He called out. The sink in the kitchen shut off after a second.
“Yeah?”
“Can you come here?”
The kids shuffled around on the floor warily as the other man walked into the living room. The energy had obviously shifted, it was probably an odd vibe to walk in to, but Eddie cut Steve off before he could ask any questions.
“You tired?”
“Uh, no. I’m fine--”
“It’s just you just keep on runnin’ through my mind constantly. I figured you’d be exhausted, sweetheart,” Eddie purred, the words cloyingly sweet and full of exaggerated charm.
There was a countdown, three, two, one...
A collective groan let out. A few uncomfortable laughs.  “Dude, what the hell?”
“You guys agreed not to be gross in front of us!”
“Oh, my god, can I actually get sick from how cheesy that was?”
Eddie had to work at keeping in character when his very first line had pulled the intended reaction. He was already reaching forward to curl an arm around Steve, pulling him in in a slow, sultry attempt at being smooth.
“What? Can’t I be sweet on my guy? You all will understand when you’re in love one day. Right, sugar?”
Fake gags and retching sounds, too dramatic to be real protests, but still indignant and annoyed. Eddie was pretty sure Dustin slapped a hand over his eyes.
“Uh...yes?” Steve, who had previously looked like a car accident had happened directly in front of him, was catching on to the play. He eyed the disgruntled floor-children with a growing grin and let Eddie snuggle up to him.
God, his baby was so clever. He always knew what Eddie was thinking.
Too busy having a non-verbal conversation with Steve on how to best annoy the kids, Eddie didn’t see Mike turning his attention back to the tv. He did, however, hear him telling the others to “Just ignore them, they’ll get all gushy and leave us alone.”
Oh, Michael, Michael. Wrong move.
“How you doing, babygirl?” Steve flushed, deep and red and--huh. Okay. Revisiting that one in the future. “You good? You need anything? Your head hurting, sweet thing? I can kiss it better,”  Eddie ducked forward to kiss Steve’s cheek. It was chaste, a sweet little thing...that Eddie made infinitely worse by the smacking, obnoxious kissy sounds he emulated there. The chorus of groans and protests started up again. He didn’t even pull his face away to call over to them.
“I’m sorry, is that attitude? Am I hearing more attitude?”
“Dude, Eddie, noooo!”
“Jesus, it’s like watching your parents make out, oh my god.”
“You guys, let’s just go already,”
“Yeah, I’ll take washing dishes over this,”
The grossed out teenagers whooshed past them. Grumbling and glaring--except Eleven, who smiled up at them sweetly--leaving Steve and Eddie standing in the living room, still wrapped up together.
It was too tempting then, with the kids safely out of range, for Eddie to resist the temptation to drop his kisses a little lower down Steve’s neck. To let them get a little less chaste. Just a little.
What can he say? He’s a weak man.
“That was evil,” Steve hummed. His shoulders dropped, though, relaxing into Eddie’s hold, the closest thing they’ve had to quiet all night settling in.
“Hey, I accomplished two things. Got them to chill out and I get the perk of feeling you up in the middle of sleepover night. It’s a win-win.”
A crash and a muffled argument broke out in the kitchen before Steve could respond to that.
The audible scuffling was cut off by Eddie calling out “Your ass looks great in these jeans tonight, Harrington!”
The fierce whispers and shushing were enough to get both of the older boys cackling loudly.

Daryl tried to be sneaky when it came to getting one of Hershel’s horses. He thought it be easier to maneuver through the woods on horseback instead of his bike. Wouldn’t be as loud either.
The man didn’t know anything about horses. Especially with putting the saddle and reins on. But he was trying to be quick so that none of the Greenes would notice.
Little did he know he was being watched.
“You forgot the saddle pad. Protects their back from the saddle…the friction and all”
The youngest Dixon quickly dropped the saddle and didn’t think of aiming his crossbow given the woman he turned toward didn’t seem to be armed.
“Who the hell are you?”
“The owner of the horse you be takin’. Don’t care if you do just thought you might need a hand before you take off”
“I’ve got more questions first—-“
“You want a name or somethin’? Or like why didn’t I show my face when your group stumbled into the ranch with a half dead boy?” She tilted her head after saying all that, watching the man’s body relaxed when she said all that. “I’m Y/N Greene. The eldest Greene daughter and I didn’t show my face because I’m not all too friendly with strangers and my old man isn’t all too proud of me”
Now Daryl was completely relaxed for some strange feeling growing in his chest. This total stranger didn’t leave out anything in the initial meeting…he didn’t feel like he had to pull it out of her.
“Can I at least get your name?”
“Daryl. Uh Daryl Dixon”
“Well nice to meet yea. Let me help you get the saddle on and you can take’em wherever you need to go”
“Ain’t gonna like…question why I’d be takin’ your horse?”
“The best thing about being invisible…is I already know why you’re doing it so I’m gonna help in my smallest way” Y/N got the saddle pad from the open cabinet in the stable approaching her horse to get him set up. “You’re trying to find that Carol woman’s daughter? I’d be careful when riding. Nelly is skittish sometimes”
“That’s understandable when a sicko comes by”
“I’m saying…be more careful with anything as small as a mouse when ridin’” Y/N warns as she tightens the saddle on carefully before taking the reins and handing them to Daryl. “If you don’t come back before nightfall, I’ll come and get yea”
“Not gonna need it” Daryl frowns gripping the reins keeping his gaze to the floor until she started to walk away when he brought his eyes back on her.
When Daryl left the farm, Y/N made her existence known to the others from his group given only Lori and Daryl knew of her. Lori only knowing because she accidentally stumbled across her when she needed air after learning what happened to Carl.
The eldest Greene still kept to herself but started to be help to these new people whenever it was asked. She even understood what Maggie was talking to her about when it came to how strange some of them were with one another. But also being mainly an observer, she told her sister more details.
“Have you seen that Dixon guy recently?” Y/N asks her sister Beth watching her shake her head, leading her to leave the house heading toward the stables.
To her surprise, Hershel stood in a bit of a mood when noticing their horse was gone.
“You know who took her?”
“Yeah and I gave the okay. Now I gotta—“ Y/N went toward one of the stalls when Hershel grabbed her upper arm. “Seriously old man. What now?”
“I don’t trust these people” Hershel sung the same tune ever since this group joined. Y/N quickly pulls her arm out of his grasp avoiding eye contact as she pinches the bridge of her nose to contain herself from exploding. “First we lose another of our people because they were left alone with this guy”
“To save the sheriff’s son—-“
“Then the Glenn fella is hitting on my precious Maggie—-“
“She’s a grown ass woman who can make decisions for herself—-“
“Then your stupid decision to let one of them use one of our horses led them to ask for—-“
“SHUT IT” Y/N hissed. “I ain’t bein’ blamed for stupid shit, dad. You’re a sweet old guy that wouldn’t turn away good people but of course it’s driving yea nuts how high maintenance it is. Now get out of my way”
Her father didn’t leave the stables and watched her go into one of the stalls to push over some hay to reveal her hunting rifle strapping it on her.
“What are you doing?!”
“Going out to save one of them from whatever bullshit he got himself in”
“Seriously?! How can you easily let someone in? How can yea risk your life—-“
“I have given too much to this world that I’m not about to let it take from me. Yeah…I may not know much of this guy but some cosmic whatever is telling me he’s worth it” and with that Y/N left for the woods.
Y/N didn’t walk aimlessly like the Dixon fella might have because she grew up in these woods. She’s seen his crossbow and knows he’s a hunter but unless you know your surroundings, you’re learning as you go. Which meant the fall that Daryl took when Nelly bucked him off, Y/N knew the spot he’d fall into. Daryl had just pulled the arrow out of his side to take out the walker trying to get him but when the sounds of another undead came, he knew he was done for.
Until the sound of gunfire rung through followed by a thud. Daryl in his exhausted state looked up from where he fell finding a blurry blob that was Y/N with her rifle still in a readied position. He scoffs slightly out of annoyance toward himself mainly but a bit toward her that he directed to her when she slid the side of the slope reaching him.
“You’re an idiot…”
“Says the one bleeding” Y/N frowns setting her rifle down beside her, helping Daryl sit up with some resistance. “Gotta close that better or you’ll bleed out before we get back”
“Why do you care? If Merle were here he’d make jokes about a girl touchin’ me”
Y/N sort of ignored his words. Merle? Must be family or at least someone close he’s thinking of because of the blood loss. Least she didn’t have to worry about hallucinations…at least when she’s there.
“I just do. Is that a good enough answer for yea?”
“For now”
“Good” Y/N shrugged off her flannel leaving her in a tank top making the heat rise to Daryl’s face as he turned away when she brought her shirt around his torso to apply pressure to the wound. “When we get back, the old man will patch you up”
“How’d yea even know I’d end up here?”
“I know these woods a bit too well, Dixon”
“So…yea could’ve warned me?”
“Nah. Then that would be doubting your abilities now wouldn’t it?” Y/N frowns bringing his arm around her shoulders hearing him groan when getting back on his feet.
Getting back to where they were was a struggle and resulted in Y/N carrying Daryl on her back to the best of her ability. A few bumps along the way but they made it. Now it was a slow walk back to the farm.
Though neither of them could’ve calculated what’s about to happen, to happen.
Once the two were in the clearing, Y/N heard muffled shouting while Daryl clung onto her really feeling the blood loss get to him. His feeling instantly changed when he felt her tense beside him when the group of men came running over. Daryl scoffs straightening up the best he could, glaring at Rick who held his colt in his face once again.
“That’s the third time you pointed that thing at my head” Daryl scoffs. “Gonna pull the trigger or what?”
Then the ring of a shot powered through and nicked Daryl in the head. The force caused him to fall over and Y/N to instantly approach his side to get him on his back making sure he was still breathing.
“I was kidding” Daryl groans, squinting his eyes from the pain in his head as Rick and Shayne quickly came over to help the guy onto his feet while Y/N got up continuing to carry his gear and grow an unsettling taste in her mouth when Andrea came running over admitting to her firing.
Dale noticed the look in the Greene’s eyes and felt the need to step in front of Andrea when she made her way over to them.
“Next time, if you’re ever unsure about the shot you’re about to take? Don’t take it” Y/N kept her cool and even shot the girl a temporary smile that faded into the resting neutral while she caught up with the others.
The poor guy laid uncomfortably in the bed while Hershel got to work on his stitches. Once the info about Sophia’s possible whereabouts, Hershel couldn’t help but speak his mind.
“If you didn’t go out in the first place, my daughter wouldn’t have felt obligated to save your ass”
“No one told her to come and save me. I would’ve come back somehow”
“Given your injuries, Dixon. Be a little more thankful that Y/N girl went and saved yea” Rick scoffs picking up the map from the bed and leaving to give the man some time to rest without people bothering. Hershel followed behind Rick watching him bother Y/N to get her input on their whereabouts regarding Sophia.
Night came and everyone was having dinner in the dining room while Daryl stuck in the room he was in. Carol came and went, gave him food and thanked him for not stopping his search for Sophia. He didn’t wait to leave until the house fell quiet indicating everyone was asleep. But right as Daryl was about to sit up, Y/N quietly pushed the door open resulting in the archer scrambling to cover his back.
She’s seen them but before his sake, she wasn’t going to say anything. Y/N tossed a bottle of Tylenol in Daryl’s lap making him relax and the sheets fall from covering him. “The old man is gonna want to check your bandages later. Change them and check for infection. Yknow, the good stuff”
“At this hour?”
“Man was a vet. Overnight shifts to check on the more critical asked for late night checks. Yeah you’re a person but it’s just how he does things”
“Can’t…You like check them for me? I hate being in here”
The pondering look on Y/N’s face took a minute before falling into a neutral expression with a hint of a smile followed by a shrug.
“Your tent is the furthest from the group yeah? By the bike?”
“Wild guess”
“But I’m right, right?” Y/N smiles warmly. “I’ll have to get some stuff then meet yea there. But go out the back, that door doesn’t squeak when opening it” she tells him back on her way out of the room.
It took him a bit to get out of the house given he was stitched up and sore from the incident still. But he didn’t think he took that long when finding Y/N leaning against the tree closest to his tent smoking.
“How long—-“
“I just got here. I am faster than you given the circumstances”
“I wasn’t the one that fell on their ass after carrying me up that slope” Daryl scoffs approaching his tent to unzip it but bending slightly caused a whole lot of pain that he stopped. Y/N tapped his shoulder indicating for him to move as he did with a groan followed.
The Greene tossed her cigarette to the ground and stomped it out before opening the tent letting him in first obviously then entering herself.
“You’re gonna have to take your shirt off again, or at least unbutton enough just for me to get to your bandages”
Daryl sat on his cot with a huff and a bit of an annoyed look infused with self-hatred. “You saw’em”
“I only saw what you’re willing to show” Y/N brought herself to her knees setting her first aid box next to him on the cot watching him from the corner of her eye take off his shirt dropping it on the floor next to her. “You’re not the only one riddled with a past, or…scars that explain it. Alright, may I?” She reached to touch the bandage waiting for his approval which was a nod from his end.
Her touch is so…light Daryl thought watching her work with taking the bandage off with wetting the adhesive so it wouldn’t tug at his skin. Gentle… he held the new bandage for her watching her double check her dad’s handy work. The slightest concern graced her features but immediately dissolved.
“My stitches would’ve been neater. But it’ll do the job” Y/N comments as she took the bandage from his hand and started applying it.
“You also some form of doctor in this family?”
“Fuck no” Y/N laughs lightly. “I’ve lived in the city for so long that I’ve encountered my fill of chaos probably within the first year. But ten years later is when I decided to sell my soul back to this fucking farm”
“You hate it here?” Daryl questions instantly, watching Y/N clean up her stuff before leaning back on her hands on the ground. “This shit is a luxury. Even before the apocalypse”
“Mm. I don’t know you well enough to go into grand detail about why this place is really just a burden. But you’ve seen how the old man is. Imagine being his kid on the receiving end to his bs”
“I guess that’s fair” Daryl slipped his shirt on when listening to her speak. “Some parents aren’t fit to be parents”
“As much as that is true, maybe even speaking from your own experience. Most situations involving multiple children, there’s always a favorite. But in this case, there’s the disappointment and the two perfect daughters”
“Why are you sharing this with me?”
Y/N shrugs reaching into her back pocket taking out her pack. “You’re relaxed aren’t you?”
She got that right. She got him to stop thinking about his injury, and a little bit about how his search was pretty much a failure.
Once Y/N put her lighter away after lighting her cigarette, she only took two puffs before Daryl carefully leaned over taking it from her mouth to give it to himself.
“I’m taking that as my leave” She laughs lightly as she brought herself to uncomfortably stand in the tent, hunching over just a bit.
But as Y/N reached to take her kit, Daryl took a hold of her wrist tugging her into his lap catching a bit of a confused look from her. Making his anxiety rise slightly that he read her kindness wrong and part of her didn’t expect much.
“Do what you plan on doing, Dixon” Y/N brought her arm around his shoulders as her other hand gently made sure his bandage was secure but also place itself on his cheek.
It took him a second longer to think about his action before pressing his lips against hers. The softness of her lips against his made his heart start racing and her hand moved from his cheek to his chest to confirm such.
When the morning came, Daryl woke with a groan sitting up in his coat to find beside him being empty but Y/N still remained in the tent getting her jeans back on. He admired the work he done on her neck but his eyes fixated on the burn scars he caught a glimpse of resting on her thighs. She could sense the staring and tensed only for a moment until her pants were back on.
“There’s not enough make up in the world to cover your attack on my neck and chest. But I don’t give a fuck who notices”
“Don’t know about your family, but these folk don’t know when not to include themselves in other’s business. They are def gonna ask where mine came from” Daryl chuckles lightly bringing himself to completely sit on the cot referring to his own hickeys that were more on the neck and shoulder. Including a bite mark that Y/N couldn’t help herself last night, it was either that or wake the whole tent city. “It’s still early”
“Yeah but just like your folks, my family is nosey. Especially my sisters.” She sighs while buttoning up her flannel even if she does prefer it open, just needs a minute to get inside and in her room before the interrogation starts.
“Y/N.”
Y/N turned to Daryl once she sat on the ground to get her shoes on as she could sense the hint of worry coming from the man and she could only assume was toward what he saw.
“We’re not so different” Y/N states finishing tying her shoes. “Mine were just. Self inflicted”
He couldn’t contain his concern even if in his own special way it was only noticed through his eyes and body language. Y/N could read him and part of Daryl worried about that.
“You stop?”
“Don’t be—-“
“I ain’t gonna be one of those nut jobs that tell yea “please stop for me”. Only you can really make that decision”
“Well, I did. When I moved back”
“And how long ago was that?”
“Three months before the world ended” and with that Y/N took her leave, leaving the first aid kit with Daryl giving her a reason to come back.
Even if a part of him wanted to go after her.
The two had their alone time a few times before news of “walkers in the barn” spread to the group. Daryl felt a sense of betrayal since Y/N cares so much about their safety in the past few days that she didn’t tell him anything about it. But when he went to the back door where he’d usually meet her, he heard shouting from inside coming from her.
“Walkers in the goddamn barn, old man?!”
“People are in that barn. Good people. I’m protecting the—-“
“They’re already gone! They stopped being themselves the second the infection spread from the bite”
“You don’t know that”
“Are you fucking kidding me?!” Y/N scoffed pinching the bridge of her nose trying to contain her anger and failing. “I swear to god if I open it—-“
“—You wouldn’t—-“
“—-and find mom in there after you said she just “disappeared”. I’m going to prove you she’s not mom anymore”
Daryl couldn’t help but flinch when he heard the ring from the slap that came from Hershel’s hand meeting Y/N’s cheek. Normally one would cry but instead she kept her composure and decided to reframe from saying another word or she would’ve acted instead. He quickly stepped away when the door flung open seeing the anger in her eyes and body language. The single tear that rolled off her cheek made him act without realizing and gently brushed it away watching her relax but not enough to fall into his arms and stay there. She pulled herself away shooting him a temporary smile before walking into the woods behind the house to clear her head.
The eldest Greene only returned to the shouting happening and then sudden gun fire which led her to grabbing hers on the way over to the commotion happening by the barn. Y/N froze beside her father watching Maggie comfort him while the others started shooting down the walkers that flooded out. She heard quick footsteps coming as she stopped whoever, Beth, from going any further as she held onto her. She held her as she sobbed watching the dust settle and one walker left started stumbling out.
Sophia.
Daryl quickly latched himself onto Carol before she could even get close to her daughter. Her sobs grew louder the more she was restrained from seeing her little girl that was soon ended by the sheriff that left her all alone in the first place. Rick will forever take that as his fault and won’t ever forget it.
It took them all a second to adjust to what happened as Daryl helped Carol on her feet only for her to thrash out so his grasp from anger and loss. Y/N did her best to keep Beth away from the carnage but she slipped from her grasp causing her to follow her little sister to the pile of walkers.
“Beth, no that’s not—“
“That’s our mom!” She cried as she brought herself to her knees beside the corpse pushing the one on top of it off her. “Ma…”
Her screaming caused everyone to act. The men quickly grabbed at her pulling her away from the reanimated corpse as Y/N quickly came through and slammed her foot into the skull of the sicko. There was a pause in the chaos of Beth screaming, Carol sobbing, and a few of them bickering. Just a pause to let what happened sink in.
“Y/N…” Maggie exhaled watching her fixated gaze to her foot coated in the aged blood as she slowly lifts her foot and stepped away. “Y/N, wait!” She quickly followed her as Y/N made her way past their father.
“I never should’ve come back” Y/N frowns continuing on her way to who knows, and on her route she took the pack of cigarettes out from her back pocket tossing them to the ground which only those who knew would understand.
But she kept her lighter.
After taking care of a few things, Daryl was finally left to take care of himself. Even if he wasn’t going to. His anger feasted mainly on himself compared to being toward others, granted he doesn’t have any reason to be mad toward anybody except for maybe Rick or Hershel for that barn bullshit. Or Shane. Hell he was frustrating himself. He wasn’t going to do anything with her in that sense but needed to find her.
It didn’t take much searching because as much as she hated the place, Y/N stuck close for a lot of reasons. Daryl only found her when she tossed an acorn at his head from above where she sat on one of the branches.
“Obviously looking for me”
“Not for that though.”
“I didn’t do anything if you’re thinking—-“
“No. Well, not entirely” Daryl shrugs watching her climb down the tree to be level with him. “You stalled. Stayed in…the corpse”
“If your mother turned, and you had to end her the way I did…you wouldn’t move right away.”
“Thankfully my mom died in a fire she caused”
“Thankfully?” Y/N scoffs watching him shrug again which made an ill laugh escape her lips. “I wish she didn’t die that way.”
“I wish you didn’t have to be the one to end it. Entirely. I’m sorry”
“Daryl…” Y/N frowns looking him dead in the eye waiting for it. Waiting for him to say it even if his anger started to get the best of him in the moment. “It’s not your fault”
“Stop”
“It’s not”
“But it is!” Daryl snapped in her face realizing she flinched and given all the feelings in the air that day, she couldn’t keep her guard up in that moment. “She wasn’t even mine. Not my daughter. How could I blindly care so much?”
“I was like that in the beginning of whatever we are”
“What?”
“Caring so blindly. I didn’t know you and I came and saved you. Well until that annoying blond put a bullet in you…almost. Then I saved you. In my own way.” Y/N crosses her arms bringing herself close enough to lean against the tree she was just in. “Sometimes, you just care and don’t need a reason. Then the more you know a person all the reasons come to light”
“I care about yea, yknow. Even when I didn’t know a thing”
“You cared about her, without knowing a single thing. From what I heard, there is a person at fault but even then? Rick shouldn’t bully himself for a child running from danger. Kids don’t listen. That’s why they have parents to care for them. Or siblings. It’s harder when the kid has to care for themself. But that’s beside the point…” She turned her head in the direction of the house. “It’s all a shitshow. The end of the world. But we make do with it. Care about those we’ve just met or learned more about in such a little time”
“We need all the people in our lives for as long as we can” Daryl frowns bringing himself closer as Y/N moved her arms to her sides watching him get close enough that she could feel his breath on her. But he brought his forehead to rest against hers, feeling her hands find purchase on his neck. “You’re allowed to fall apart”
And she did. In the comforts of his presence then his arms…and his warm embrace. Things continued to escalate at the farm that eventually, it was set ablaze. All the commotion caused everyone to scramble, lose a few, and meet up on the highway. Daryl’s anxiety shot up when he couldn’t find the eldest Greene sister with her other sisters that were driven to “safety” by Glenn and Hershel.
Then the rustling of the woods were heard and few thought it was more of the walkers. But suddenly, Y/N stumbled out falling against the slope that led to the freeway and before any of her remaining family could rush to her…Daryl was already at her side helping her stand and she was met with a tearful gaze coming from the man that she didn’t care about keeping it a secret anymore…Y/N pressed her lips firmly against his for a short lived kiss before he brought her entirely in his arms holding her.
“Oh you so owe me” Maggie made the comment toward Beth as she glares at her sister. A bet was made. If that wasn’t clear.
“How long have—-“
“No time to act like a father right now. We need to find shelter for the night.” Rick cut off Hershel and gave Daryl a look to start the ride with his bike since he can maneuver and find a path easier. But instead of Carol being on his bike, Y/N took that spot rightfully and not like Carol was complaining.
It was a short ride but long enough for Daryl to realize Y/N’s trembling from the shock of watching her home burn and the struggle of getting out of there alive. She didn’t go unscathed but the cuts were small and not so deep. Daryl still took care of them.
After Rick’s whole speech, it was time to call it a night and stick close to everyone. Daryl took first watch which meant Y/N sticking with him.
“Your old man didn’t look too happy about us”
“He’ll have to get used to it.” Y/N whispered to him feeling his arm snake around her shoulders keeping her close. “Cant believe it’s gone”
“I’m sorry”
Y/N shrugged a little before bringing herself closer to him enjoying the warmth he emitted. “Least I got these on my way out” she pulled out her pack of cigarettes which made a laugh escape Daryl’s lips.
It took some time to get used to the idea that they were going to be moving a lot until something more permanent came along. But they also needed something permanent to come by the end of nine months because Lori was pregnant.
Everyone noticed how stressed Rick would get when Lori would shut him out for his decision making that lead them here so a few did their best to keep that level low.
“Daryl and I are gonna go hunt for dinner while my old man and Carol set up camp for the night” Y/N informs Rick on her way out. “Glenn, Maggie, and T-Dog should be back soon with whatever they scavenged from the few houses around”
“Thanks Y/N, be back before nightfall” Rick stated watching her nod before following Daryl out of the house they decided to make their shelter for the night.
As much as they did what they told Rick what they were going to do. They planned on other things.
“Fuck—-“ Y/N cursed adjusting herself against the counter even with Daryl pinning her against such. “Maybe we do this on the floor next time” her hands slipped resulting in Daryl picking her up still deep inside her velvety walls and forcing her against the wall.
“Better?” He huffed watching her arms move to find purchase around his neck.
“Yes, please continue” Y/N begged as Daryl instantly latched his lips against hers picking up the pace thrusting inside of her using the wall to his advantage so he could bring one of his hands to her clit helping her reach her release.
Her toes curled and heels dug into his back when she reached her high and felt Daryl remove his hand from her clit to have a better grasp on her while he quickened his pace and thrusted harder reaching his own release, spilling inside her warmth. They held onto each other catching their breaths.
“Holy shit…” Y/N gasps softly when Daryl adjusted his stance still inside of her. “So…”
“Round two?” He smirks followed by one appearing on her features pressing her lips against his. Before the two suddenly flinched to the sound of a spring lock. “Shit”
“Mm. Maybe later?”
“Imma hold yea to that, sunshine” Daryl kisses her once more before pulling out of her helping her gain her balance using himself as her steady.
After helping clean up, Daryl checked the trap they set pulling out a raccoon that unfortunately met its end. Y/N stepped out carrying a few finds that would help a few with keeping warm during the colder nights. Blankets, sweaters, etc.
“Think we should set up a few more traps before we head back”
“Sounds good” Y/N extended her hand for Daryl to hand off the raccoon so he could set them up. “I’m gonna put some of these things by your bike so I can sweep around”
“Be careful yeah? I’ll join yea when I’m done”
Y/N kept the catch attached to her backpack on her while the blankets and clothes were left on his bike. She went through a few houses near the one they both were in and stopped in one of the few two stories finding a few more canned goods and took note of how secure the building was. Maybe they could move there for a few weeks? She thought while stepping through the place some more, stopping at the fireplace finding the photos coated in dust. She extended a hand toward one deciding to dust it off and find an old married couple behind the glass. They looked happy. In love. Y/N didn’t quite understand the feeling she was feeling in her chest when staring at the picture of a random couple.
“Anything good?” Daryl’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts as she sets the picture back where it was.
“Nothing I haven’t already put in my bag. I’m ready when you are”
Heading back was quiet and that didn’t concern Daryl much given it was getting late. But Y/N started to act off that it even concerned her. She was more exhausted than usual, finding herself sleeping more in her spot of the house wherever they moved, she ate less, took more of the first night watch shift, and went out less with Daryl. Every time she did, Daryl mainly kept an eye on her and their conversation was smaller than usual. This has been going on for a month, and they’ve been house hoping for three so far. It was about to become winter.
Y/N was taking a longer night watch given Rick, Daryl, and Glenn decided to head out for a small hunting trip to bring back enough game to last them through winter. Even if Daryl said he was going to hunt through the cold months just not as frequently. She was once again lost in her thoughts while looking out into the darkness staring occasionally at the trigger line. Worrying about the group, missing Daryl, fearing what could happen—
“Sweetheart?” Hershel whispered for those sleeping inside but was loud enough to get Y/N’s attention. “How are you feeling?”
Ever since the fire, Hershel has been trying to rekindle the father daughter relationship with his oldest. Even if in her head, he’s always going to be her dad and it wouldn’t take much to repair it. He’s already apologized enough. But she expected it again tonight.
“I’m tired”
“I’ve noticed. Are you falling ill with somethin’? I can go out with Maggie to go look for—-“
“No, no. I’m not sick” Y/N frowns watching her dad take a seat with her. “I don’t feel good. Yeah…but the other thing is just. I love him but I’m afraid to tell him”
Hershel couldn’t help the laugh that escaped him which only brought a glare and a huff out of his daughter. “I told your mother that I loved her, first. She didn’t say it back and honestly? I didn’t expect her to. I just want her to know that I loved her. Then a few months later she tells me she loves me too. For some they say it immediately back, or they take a while. But that doesn’t mean what they do for you, has zero trace of love toward you.”
Y/N couldn’t help the little tears that spilled from her eyes when her dad said such. Hershel gently brought his arm around her shoulder bringing her in so she could rest her head on his shoulder continuing to cry if she needed.
A couple more days passed and the sick feeling turned into vomiting and migraines every other day. Y/N couldn’t shake a feeling and decided to act on it.
“Y/N…” Beth shook her older sister awake as Y/N slowly sits up looking to the other side of her seeing Daryl still fast asleep then she turned to the window finding it still dark out.
“What’s wrong?” She whispers tucking the loose hair in Beth’s face behind her ear.
“I started my period…and I don’t have anything…”
Y/N nodded knowing exactly what she was asking as she tugs her pack over to them rummaging through it. She then realizes she missed her period.
“Uhm. I don’t have anything, love. Maybe ask Mags in the morning? I’ll ask Carol if she’s stumbled across any”
“Okay…” Beth frowns watching her sister go into her bag knowing she at least had pain meds and gave it her to see a small smile form for a moment before she shuffled back.
Her anxiety started to eat at her and she knew the only way to know for sure is to get a test. But that will wait for the morning.
“Hey I’m gonna take a car into the nearby town. Sweep the place one last time before we move again before the weather goes from just cold to snow”
“Sounds like a great idea.” Rick stood up grabbing his coat. “I’ll tag along with you and Daryl”
“If Daryl wants to tag along. I was gonna ask Mags” Y/N states receiving a confused and concerned look from Daryl while her sister lights up with a smile. “Maybe you and Glenn can do one last hunt and check the traps before we move?”
“Alright. But he’s gotta keep up with me like yea do”
“He will” Y/N laughs softly smiling as Daryl snuck in a kiss on the cheek when no one was looking. “We’ll be back before nightfall”
“Yeah I’ll make sure to get some baby stuff if we come across it” Rick tells Lori only to be met with an avoidance in her gaze as her hand stayed on her already showing belly. Y/N couldn’t help the staring toward the two before squeezing her eyes shut and quickly stepping out once she got her backpack and a coat.
Maggie took care of driving and Rick took the passengers, leaving Y/N alone in the backseat scribbling in this journal Maggie found for her on a run with Glenn. She mainly wrote her concerns and the obvious one plaguing her mind was
Is she pregnant?
They were reckless, now he’s going to leave her.
Does he even like kids? He doesn’t talk much to Carl…
“I don’t know what I’m doing wrong” Rick frowns looking out the window as Maggie turned to him for a second with a confused look. “She’s mad about it all. What happened with Shane and being pregnant in the apocalypse. She thinks because she had a c-section she’s more likely to have another and we don’t have the tools for it. So it stresses me out…thinking I’m gonna lose my wife. But I can’t voice those concerns because she’s mad at me. Pregnant and mad”
“Pregnancy makes women feel all their emotions times 100, Rick. It’s going to be rough for a while” Maggie pats his shoulder glancing back to find Y/N looking a bit more pale than before. “Sis, you alright?”
Without another word, the second she felt the car stop…Y/N quickly ran out ditching her things and going to vomit into the near by bushes. Maggie frowns unbuckling her seatbelt and about to check on her when she noticed her journal in the backseat. Her hesitation made Rick get out to check on her older sister while she picked up the book to read it.
Maggie wasn’t going to tell Y/N she read it. But then read those entries and felt the same anxiety her sister felt for a moment.
Maggie gave Y/N some time to recollect herself after bolting out of the car. But she didn’t mean to corner her in the pharmacy section of the mini grocery store.
“Mags what’s up with that look on your face?”
“I uhm. I’m sorry”
The apology caught Y/N off guard until Maggie just let it out.
“You’re pregnant?” Maggie frowns and the negative look on her face only made Y/N feel so much worse on the matter. But instead of tears, it was anger.
“AND?! So what if I might be pregnant? Like that isn’t going to be a fucking issue when we already have a pregnant woman in the group and look how she and her man are doing. I haven’t even said I love you yet to Daryl and I don’t even know if he wants kids” then the tears suddenly broke out as she stared at the pregnancy test box she had in her hand. “I can’t get rid of it. I don’t want to lose him. The universe took too much from me already, I can’t lose anymore” she sobbed, Maggie didn’t wait another second bringing her sister into her embrace holding her protectively.
“Y’all are gonna try and see if that car works? Just the two of you?”
“It’s not the first time I hot-wired a car by myself” Y/N stated with Maggie nodding to confirm such.
It’s not that Rick didn’t trust the two, it was going to be night soon and that was his concern. But he also needed to get all their findings back.
“Fine. But you have to camp out if it gets too late”
“We’ve got this. If the lights work, we’ll drive back” Maggie smiles as Rick sighs letting them rock and leaving.
The two gave each other a look and Maggie went into her bag taking out the few pregnancy tests handing them to Y/N. She went back inside one of the buildings to do her business while Maggie got started with hot-wiring the car.
“Y/N I don’t feel good…”
“Yeah I know, bug. I’m sorry I’m working as fast as I can” The sixteen year old Y/N tugged on the wires from under the dash to get the car started while her baby sister Maggie continued to groan in the backseat. Being left to babysit while the folks went into town was killer. Especially when no one expected Maggie to have a skyrocketing fever.
“Sis…” She cried the entire drive as Y/N did her best to be a smooth driver into town and to the nearest ER.
“I’ve gotchu, bug. Everything’s gonna be alright”
“Everything’s gonna be alright” Maggie frowns rubbing Y/N’s back as she did her best to contain her tears while they drove back.
“It won’t…it just won’t” Y/N wiped away her tears taking the remaining time back to collect herself. She took out the cartoon of cigarettes from her bag staring at the thing knowing her sister’s gaze to burning a hole into the side of her head. “I’m not going to do them, bug” she frowns rolling the window down and tossing the box out hearing the sigh of relief.
“Good…I need to keep you safe. So it keeps my niece or nephew safe”
The smallest joy brought a temporary smile to grace Y/N’s features even if the uncomfortable anxious feeling clawed at her back over how Daryl will react.
When they arrived back, both Glenn and Daryl were waiting outside the house that was lit from the fire T-Dog got started in the fireplace to keep everybody warm. Glenn instantly went to Maggie’s side checking her in his anxious way that was immediately reassured. But Y/N remained in the car with her head down, driving Daryl nuts internally until he noticed Maggie give him a look to join her and that only made his anxiety worse.
“What’s wrong with—-“
“Just let them be. Cmon, gotta give Beth something” Maggie smiles tugging Glenn along back inside until it was just Daryl and Y/N.
The archer shut the door once he entered and before he even said a word, the eldest Greene daughter exhaled.
“I’m pregnant”
Daryl expected more from her but was met with her silence and honestly, that made him worry for her instead of thinking of his feelings about the news. This explains why she hasn’t been feeling well—-but she could’ve let him in. Makes sense why she wanted to go on a run with her sister—-but he could’ve been there for her. Y/N found out alone for a moment—-yet Daryl could’ve help her the second she did.
“You thought I would leave yea”
Y/N instantly shot her head up turning to him as if he read her mind. Daryl gave her a bit of a disappointed look that was met with brimming tears.
“I’m not gonna leave yea. Never.” Daryl stated as fact which led the tears to spill. “I just wish I help you through it. Yeah you had your sister. But you mean so much to me and this is our future. I wasn’t gonna go anywhere before, I definitely ain’t now” he finished his thought as he stepped out of the car rounding to Y/N’s side and gently pulling her into his arms letting her sob into him as he protectively held onto her.
The winter started to present itself and the news stayed within the three (four if you count Maggie blabbing to Glenn, which was only a matter of time before they all knew). Which led to once they found their home to hold off the winter, Daryl brought himself inside after checking the one trap he placed sitting down beside Y/N.
“There’s something we’ve got to say to you all” Y/N started and felt anxious with everybody staring. Guess the fire took away more than just their safety, but her confidence.
“She’s pregnant” Daryl finished resting a hand on her thigh gently rubbing his thumb in a soothing motion for her to relax.
Before any positive thing said can be thrown up in the air. The shocked expressions turned instantly to confusion and toward Lori when she scoffed toward the news.
“Seriously?” Lori beckoned Y/N to confirm it herself as she did with a nod even if her expression fell when the woman started laughing. “Great that’s just great”
“Lori—-“
“No, shut it Rick. It was already trouble taking care of my pregnant self. What makes y’all think we can take care of two? You two should’ve been more careful and found abortion pills”
“Woah! You don’t get to get to be a bitch just because you’re pregnant” Carol hissed drawing a shocked expression out of the Grimes who quickly turned to her husband for a defense. “No you started this on your own and you will finish it”
“None of us asked for you to be pregnant.” T-Dog adds abruptly. “That shit just happens sometimes. No timing is ever perfect”
“But still—-“
“No you don’t get to talk to my——“
“girl like that” Daryl snapped cutting Hershel off. “Don’t take a good thing and fucking stomp on it just because you’re miserable. You have to remember a few of us have some bullets against yea and I ain’t afraid to fire every single one of them if you come at her again” he frowns bringing his arm entirely around Y/N keeping her close, ignoring the tense look on Lori’s face as Rick’s disappointment turned to a bit of sadness when hearing such. But it was quickly shifted to a smile when his son turned to him then toward the two.
“Congratulations?” Carl laughs the tension away resulting in Beth quickly moving over to hug her sister as Hershel made his way patting Daryl on the back before kissing the top of Y/N’s head.
They were going to be okay. Their village will make sure of it.
The winter months were brutal and miserable for everybody. They had to move once through the cold because the roof collapsed in a section of the old house that made it dangerous for everybody. The group ditched their cars and stayed in the neighborhood just for the winter because of the snow. They’ll go back to the cars later, T-Dog and Beth took care of carrying their extra items that weren’t apart of everybody’s individual packs. Carol and Hershel took care of getting the fire going and getting food for the day ready, Hershel also took care of checking both Lori and Y/N every now and then to make sure they are alright. Rick, Glenn, Maggie, and Daryl were the ones in the watch rotation and as much as he protested, Y/N would tag along with Daryl.
“No”
“I’m not that pregnant yet, Daryl. I can go out with you.”
“It’s snowing”
“So?”
“I go huntin’ by myself all the time and I’d rather yea stay warm than suffer with me”
“And you think it’s going to sit well with me having you suffer the colder conditions?” Y/N glared at the man getting frustrated with the back and forth, Daryl was going to argue again when he noticed both of her sisters shaking their heads not to try. Pregnant or not, she will continue to argue until she’s blue in the face.
“Fine. But layer up” Daryl states letting her get ready as he goes into his pack taking out his poncho to put it on over his layers.
The two went through the center of the neighborhood, Daryl hating the snow and Y/N enjoying it. He only hated it because it made tracking animals difficult and before he could tell her about heading back…
“I love you” Y/N tells him watching him freeze in his place as she anxiously adjusts the rifle on her back gripping the strap. “I don’t expect you to say it back now or in a few months or years. I just needed you to know that I love you and you mean so much to me”
Daryl brought himself close pressing his lips firmly against hers bringing his arms around her. They enjoyed themselves for the moment until Y/N heard shuffling and expected a walker but when she looked behind him. There were deer. But when Daryl got a look, he stopped her from readying her rifle which brought out a confused look from her until she noticed a buck making its appearance along with two babies.
Now they were watching the family just be, making Daryl look over to Y/N watching her smile at the display as he brought his hand to rest on her small bump. She glance to his hand for a second before smiling more and resting her hand over his before continuing to look at the deer family. Thankfully on their way back they got a bunny and a few squirrels that made themselves known in the winter.
It wasn’t long before the warmer months came back and Y/N couldn’t ride on Daryl’s bike anymore. She stuck with Glenn and Maggie and with the moving from house to house increasing. T-Dog and Rick took lead with sweeping the houses they come across before the group resided but Daryl followed behind after checking on Y/N. But when herds came through, they didn’t wait and went straight back into the car and only the road.
“Let’s go hunt” Daryl tells Rick watching him nod as Hershel held him back to talk about Lori’s condition given she’s in her ninth month compared to Y/N in her seventh.
Daryl picked up his canteen from his bike going to Y/N and making sure she kept hydrated when the weather got dangerously hot.
“Gonna go hunt with Rick. We’ll be back soon”
“Stay safe, yeah?”
“You too” Daryl quickly kissed her cheek before going with Rick.
The two stumbled across the prison, which then led to the group taking out walkers in the field to give them shelter for the night before heading inside. The group huddled by the fire talking about Rick, what the prison could do for them, and a few miscellaneous things. Maggie happily let her older sister use her lap as a pillow as she laid on her side using her blanket to cushion her belly from the ground.
“Lot of movement today?”
“Yeah…fucking think this baby loves kicking my ribs” Y/N huffed out a laugh as Maggie brushes back her hair smiling at her watching Daryl return to the group with Carol. He knelt behind her resting his poncho over her before getting comfortable. “Done with watch?”
“We’ve got a gate. Besides, if shit happens it’ll alert all of us and Rick hasn’t left the gate”
“You check on him?” Y/N whispers to Daryl when she moved onto her back for a moment to look at him.
“Do I have to?”
“No, but he shouldn’t have to burden what’s going on with him alone. Even if you don’t quite understand it”
Her words rung in his head especially when they dealt with the prisoners, then the Walker outbreak, losing Lori, almost losing Hershel and Carol…it was a lot. Things seem to only escalate and it didn’t help that all the commotion rendered Y/N speechless and she hasn’t spoken a word the moment Lori died.
She could die too
He will raise this baby alone
What will happen to her family?
She can’t die
She won’t die
Y/N stayed by the gate when they left and she knew her dad and Carol were watching her every move that when the cars pulled in she stepped away after opening one of the doors herself even when Carol came with her protests.
The car pulled in and Y/N waited for Daryl to come out but when everybody except him, she gave Rick a confused look while he hung his head.
“Daryl’s not coming back” Glenn ripped the bandaid off watching his partner shoot him a glare for not taking easy. But in Y/N’s head he did the right thing by just going for it.
“We ran into his brother and he’s not a great guy” Rick started. “But blood is blood from what Daryl told us…we just. Can’t let someone like Merle in the prison with us. He’s not a good guy and I’m sorry but Daryl’s not—-“ when he reached to lay a hand on her shoulder, she immediately smacked it away.
“You touch me and I cut your goddamn fucking hand off” Y/N glares at the retired sheriff watching him nod and step away. She glances down to her belly shutting her eyes tight turning away from everybody and started walking back to the prison.
This baby is half her and half him.
If the roles were reversed, she would’ve left with her sisters.
But that doesn’t make it okay for him to go.
“Has she spoken to anyone? Was snapping at Rick the only thing she said?” Carol asks Maggie as she nods while the concern grew on her face.
“Our daddy went to check on her and the baby. Heartbeats good. But going from a lot of movement to it being still…He thinks we should only worry if it stops for the remainder of her pregnancy.”
“Someone should get her to move. Walk around the prison or somethin’. Sitting there will make it worse for her” Hershel shared his concern as the three looked at Y/N sitting on the mattress Daryl pulled out for him originally on the catwalk.
“Nah. Get in an actual bed” Daryl protested Y/N sitting on the mattress but she did anyway.
“Last I checked a mattress is an actual bed”
“Don’t be smart with me, woman” Daryl sat up leaning into her space watching her stern look fall when he started showering her in kisses. “Least lay down with me”
“I wasn’t gonna stay sat up this entire time” Y/N playfully shoves him.
Y/N brought her attention to the young grimes bringing himself up with stairs with two bowls of food. Carl sat down beside her handing her the second one but she refused.
“Please?” Carl frowns watching her gaze turn to him with a look of ‘why?’ as in why would he be doing this for her. “We’ve…uh. We’ve lost enough people”
A sigh escapes her lips as she gently caresses the young one’s cheek giving him a small thoughtful smile before taking the bowl from him and eating.
“Y/N whisperer” Maggie whispers to Beth as the two were the ones to have Carl send up the bowl because Y/N wouldn’t snap at somebody who recently lost their mom.
They both froze when her gaze turned onto them when she finished the bowl of stew. Y/N handed the bowl to Carl as he stacked the empty bowls getting up but noticed her get up with him. She struggled at first and gestured toward one of her sisters to help as Beth quickly made her way up the steps helping her.
“Take a walk with me?” Y/N asks her youngest sister as she smiles nodding. Once the two met the end of the steps. “You too?” She asks Maggie watching her smile warmly.
Soon the three sisters were on the other side of the prison walking in silence and staring at the occasional walker but kept their focus on what’s in front of them.
“If something happens to me. The two of you will take care of them yeah?”
“Nothing is going to happen to you, sis. Nothing” Maggie’s smile instantly faded when her sister said such.
“I know, bug. But please”
“This is your first. Nothing like what happened to Lori will happen to you…” Beth frowns trying not to cry at the thought of losing her older sister. “Can’t lose you…I won’t have it”
“Beth, sweetheart, I know everybody is going to do everything they can to not let the worst case scenario happen…I just. Need the reassurance”
“They will be loved and cared for…if worst comes to worst.” Maggie brought her arm around her sister as Beth did the same, both on either side of Y/N. “We all will be okay”
The moment they got close to the main entrance, the gates were being opened to let in Daryl with his brother Merle shortly behind him. Y/N watched Maggie retract at the sight of the older brother as she brought herself over watching Daryl light up slightly but avoid her gaze.
“So you’re Merle”
“And you’re the woman my brother knocked up. Boy would not shut up about you being the reason he needs to come back. Who woulda thought someone softened my baby brother” Merle smirks and before another word came out of Y/N, everyone around watched her sock the man hard enough in the face that the force knocked him on his ass.
“Your brother is amazing to me even if I want that punch to also be at him for leaving” Y/N frowns looking down at Merle as she held her belly a moment followed by a sigh. “But that was a hundred percent meant for you”
“You just fucking met me”
“You kidnapped my sister and her partner. Beat him to a pulp and let that disgusting man touch my bug.” Y/N stared blankly at the man as it held so much anger that made him nervous. “Just be glad Daryl is your brother. Or I would’ve put a bullet in yea” she stepped away with Beth and Maggie following her while Daryl helped his brother to his feet.
“I like her” Merle smirks and was immediately manhandled by Rick to be put in their makeshift cell since they’re living in the actual ones. The same cell Michonne was in until she got on their good side.
Daryl hesitantly went to the catwalk finding Y/N there as he brought himself to sit with her. The silence was killing him but the way she soften when he returned to her. She couldn’t help but take his hand into hers while the other continued to rub circles on her belly.
“Are you—-“
“Oh I’m mad. But I have to keep calm or the baby won’t move” Y/N frowns feeling him let go of her hand to bring his on her belly thinking it will work…and it did. It was the smallest kick but it got tears to form in Y/N’s eyes making Daryl wipe them away and try to contain his own for his actions. “Are you okay? You ain’t going to leave again right?”
“Right. I ain’t leaving…I promise. I really promise this time” Daryl brought his arms around her holding her as she adjusted to lay comfortably in his embrace.
The plan about the governor escalated and succeeded. He was no longer a threat, but they lost so much in the process. Y/N found herself in the field where they buried their own, holding a flashlight for Daryl as he was burying another body. But it was his brother. The others wouldn’t approve but Y/N knew how much Merle sacrificed and thought he should be honored in a way. Daryl appreciated it. Even if he couldn’t control the tears that fell when he finished burying him. Y/N the best she could, wrapped her arms around him resting her cheek against his back.
“He did good”
“He did good…”
About a month went by and the Woodbury infusion went smoothly, and those started helping making the prison more of a function home. The one finished thing was the water plan that T-Dog brought up, thankful for him.
“You’re hovering”
“Okay?” Daryl scoffs leaning against the cell door to their room. “It either me or your old man”
“As if he’s not already there” Y/N turned to him with an annoyed look listening to Daryl sigh before Hershel made himself known. “I’m not going to fucking pop”
“That’s a creative way of putting it. You’re close to your due date. We want you to be safe”
“Yeah whatever.” Y/N pushed herself up and off the bed as they both were quick to her sides. “Okay I will kick that fake leg and make you fall and kick him in the balls if you both don’t stop hovering”
“Okay I will listen but I ain’t stopping him” Hershel pats Daryl’s shoulder. “Call me or Dr. S for any change”
Daryl nods watching him go as he gave a blank look to his girl crossing his arms. Y/N instantly glared at him but he kept his stance.
“I want to take a walk”
“I’ll go with yea.”
“Fine. But I’ll punch you over if you pick me up when I’m too tired” Y/N waddled past as he crossed his heart before following behind her.
There was a lot of commotion outside. Rick started working on the farm with Maggie, Glenn and a few Woodbury folk were clearing walkers, Tyreese was helping Carol build the outdoor grill along with Sasha helping with getting tables in, Beth was taking care of Judith as Carl rambled on about some comics that Michonne found for him, and Michonne was out on her weekly runs. Daryl helped around but mainly took the morning and night shifts when Y/N was asleep so that he would be there for her the rest of the time.
“Alex?”
“Nah, we ain’t having a boy anyway”
“I get it. But if it happens we still need a name”
“Robin goes both ways”
“God you’re so fucking lucky I like that name. And Fallon. But not for a boy name”
“Mmm…” Daryl glanced around thinking about a name for her sake. “Mark”
“Do you like Mark?”
“No”
“Then why did you—-“ Y/N scoffed. “Hunter’s mark?”
“You wanted boy names” Daryl shrugs. “Mark is a name. Hunter is also a name”
“Next thing you’re gonna say is Striker and that’s because of a brand of crossbows” Y/N continued to walk leaving Daryl a bit surprised that she knew that before catching up with her.
They were walking for two hours and Daryl was confused for half of the walk wondering why she even decided to walk for that long. Until she went back inside grabbing onto his shirt giving him a pain filled look.
“I thought it was nothing”
“What was nothing?”
“The fucking pain, Dixon. It’s too much”
It clicked a little late for Daryl but he instantly picked up Y/N only for her to start punching his chest in protest. “HERSHEL!” He shouted for the man while bringing his girl to the infirmary of the prison.
“Stop” Y/N whines hunched over in the bed as the contractions were awful for her. She smacked away Hershel’s hand when he tried to get a blood pressure cuff they found on her. “It’s too much. I’m not ready” she sobbed.
“I know sweetheart but the baby is. I’m gonna—-“
“Hell fucking no. I’m not having my dad check down there” Y/N covered her lower half with the blanket as Daryl felt her squeeze the crap out of his hand. He can take it.
“Beth. Get Caleb right now” Hershel shouted watching her exit the room as a small group formed at the entrance. “Unless you’re helping. Keep that area open”
When the other doctor arrived, Y/N was already reaching an uncomfortable amount of pain as she leans into Daryl feeling him rub circles on her back not like it did much. The words the doctor was saying weren’t registering but when he gestured for the blanket to look making her nod quickly.
“Yeah baby ain’t waiting. She’s crowning. We have anything for gloves?” Caleb asks as Hershel shakes his head before handing him a towel to catch the baby in. “Well alright.” He set the towel down for a moment and dunk his hands into the bucket Glenn got once he was asked earlier so it would be a bit more sterile. “You have to push on the next contraction”
“No…” She whined gripping Daryl’s hand tightly again. “It hurts I don’t want to”
“You have to sunshine. You have to push”
“But I’m tired” She whined followed by sobs as Daryl brushes the hair out of her face pressing his forehead against hers.
“Cmon sunshine. We gotta meet our little one” He whispers to her looking her in the eye as her voice started to tremble. “I love you. I love you so much Y/N. You’re being so strong right now and gotta continue to be alright? You gotta push now”
Y/N started to sob even more from the pain, the anxiety, the deceleration. She nodded listening to her partner as she waited for the next contraction to push resulting in her screaming which had a bit of an echo through the parts of the prison close to the infirmary.
“Good almost there” Caleb reassures. “One more big push”
“One more sunshine. One more and our little one is here”
One more push…led to the room filled with sobs. Tears from Y/N continued, tears broke out from Daryl, and the loud sobs that erupted from their baby girl being handed to the mother. Soft congratulations left the doctor’s mouth but nothing registered as the two’s attentions were glued to this little girl. A healthy little girl.
“You did good, mama” Daryl choked up wiping his tears looking at their little girl in her arms finally calming down. “She’s perfect, yeah?”
“So perfect” Y/N sobbed through a smile turning to him as he instantly kissed her. “I love you…”
“I love you” Daryl smiles keeping his family close.
When night fell, they moved back into their cellblock once everything was cleaned up and Y/N was well enough to walk. She was fast asleep in their bed as Daryl was wide awake sat up in the bed beside her holding their little girl that looked up at him with the same blue eyes he had.
“You are…so perfect, Robin”

Eddie is a curious soul, so really, no one can blame him.
It's not his fault. It really, really isn't, especially when Steve apparently refuses to bring anybody from his hometown, and never talks about his life from before. All Eddie knows is that Steve has Kids™ he would fight gods for, a best friend named Robin who is either a lesbian or more hopeless with women than Eddie's gay little ass (or both? Steve is never too clear on anything), and was mostly-adopted by his town's sheriff and his OTHER adopted child. But Steve is so- so- Eddie doesn't have a word for it, but he's obsessed with the other man.
Steve refuses to watch Back to the Future because "bad memories," but has casually mentioned that he's had nine fucking concussions like he's commenting on the weather. He wears a hearing aid in his left ear, and glasses when he's at home, but refuses to even acknowledge that he needs either. Steve wears the shortest shorts known to mankind around the house without blinking, but keeps everything from his waist up carefully covered; he even puts make-up on his neck to cover this gnarly, jagged pink scar on his neck. He carries himself like he's wounded, favoring his left side and limping when the weather is cold, but doesn't hesitate to volunteer for the more manual tasks both at work and around the apartment. Steve had even convinced Wayne to take a break and let him fix the issue with the radiator in Eddie's van while Eddie slept upstairs.
THE POINT IS that Steve is an enigma wrapped in a secret like some sort of riddle burrito. Secrets don't last around Eddie; he has to know, it eats away at him.
****
It takes Eddie years to be blessed with the information he so desperately wants. He doesn't push, no matter how badly he wants to, and he's careful to always come across as a willing shoulder for Steve to cry on; a few weeks into their cohabitation, he'd even stopped Steve from talking about whatever it was that gave him such awful night terrors ("I want you to tell me because you trust me, Stevie, not because you feel bad that I'm here," he had said. It was the right thing to do but gods did Eddie want to throttle his past self.).
Stevie had finally relaxed in their home, and it was beautiful. For about four months, Eddie satisfies himself with the knowledge that Steve was fully aware of their dynamic, that he can hug and kiss and flirt all he wants without freaking out his boyfriend (NOT roommate; boyfriend).
But then Hop visits, and Steve holes up in his bedroom with the man. Eddie feels like he should feel concerned, but Steve has already mentioned that Hop is the father he wishes he had, so all Eddie really feels is curious over what could be so important and secret that he can't know.
When they finally open the door, almost two hours later, Hopper looks angrier than usual and Steve looks downright terrified. "Eddie," he says softly, fumbling with the sleeve of his Bad Day sweater. "I, uh, I gotta tell you something. It's not just about me, so I had to clear it with Hop- and Dr. Owens."
"Are you okay, honey?" Eddie said carefully, already trying to find a way to place himself between Hop and Steve. It would be easier if Steve didn't shift back into Hop, like Eddie was the threat.
"Yeah, no, I'm fine! I just. If I tell you it has to be secret. Like, no one can ever know I told you and you could be detained for knowing, secret." Steve shifts, and his long pajama bottoms make Eddie cringe. Steve is not wearing his usual Bad Day Clothes, and it freaks Eddie out.
"Okay..." He says slowly. Steve leads him to the couch, followed closely by Hop, who takes Eddie's favorite armchair (like he did every visit).
Situated finally, Steve heaves a heavy breath. "So it all started when one of my kids, Will, disappeared on his way home..."

Doc wakes up slowly. He's had a lovely night of sleep, cozy in bed, dreaming of fantastical misuses of withers. Hotguy gave him an autograph and personally thanked him for finally blowing up Scarland's sound system and getting one over on anyone who might make a button. For some reason, Scar's alien from season six was also there, and then it exploded. That was pretty great too. And everyone had clapped for him, and told him he was the best, most important creeper in the world, and that all of his enemies were just haters, and that they would absolutely listen to all of his opinions, which were perfect, always. And they covered the Hermitcraft server in fresh, ripened tomatoes, and everyone helped him garden them.
It really was a lovely dream. He didn't particularly want to wake up, except perhaps to tell everyone about all of the aforementioned perfect opinions. But alas, even after a perfect, lovely, cozy night of sleep, mad doctors must wake up--
--and scream, as a menacing figure holding a knife looms over his bed. He throws a punch at whoever the person is before thinking and hisses, overestimating his strength and knocking them over. He scrambles for his light.
"Owww," says someone from the floor. Wait.
Doc peers over the edge of his bed. "Grian? What on earth are you doing, man?"
"Almost falling on my knife. You know, this is harder than I thought it would be," Grian says. He is holding his knife in one hand and cradling his now very crooked, bleeding nose with the other. Doc would feel bad, but... ehhh, it's Grian. Who had been standing over his bed with a knife. He probably deserved it for... something or other, Doc'll figure it out.
"You need help?" Doc asks.
"Right. No. Let's get back to this," Grian says, standing up and brandishing the knife again. The effect is much less frightening now that the lights are on, there's blood dripping down the front of Grian's sweater, and it's clear Grian is a bit uncertain of how to look intimidating. "I need you to know Mumbo only has one best friend."
Doc blinks.
"...okay, man?" Doc says.
"What?" Grian says.
"Yeah, like, I don't know what you're talking about. Mumbo and I sometimes talk about redstone, but--"
"You talk about redstone? How dare you! Mumbo is mine, you hear? Mine!"
Doc blinks again, slower. He considers pinching himself. This would be an odd addition to an otherwise lovely, perfect dream, but dreams can become weird nightmares pretty quickly, you know? That would explain why Grian's doing whatever this is.
"I mean, I don't know, he normally comes to me about it?" Doc says.
"Cheater..." Grian says.
"What?" Doc says.
"I can't believe you two! Guh! That was my offended noise!" Grian says.
"Look, uh, I don't really understand what you're doing here man--"
"I'm warning you off of Mumbo! I heard around the block you're his best friend now, so I'm going to kill you now unless you stop that."
Doc squints. "With the knife?" he asks.
"Yes, with the knife!"
"And why am I his best friend?" Doc asks.
"You got the crown! Mumbo said whoever got the purple crown would be his best friend! That's not allowed, only I'm allowed to be his best friend! So I'm, I'm being all threatening! And stuff! Please tell me I'm being threatening," Grian says. "It's been a while since I had to do something like this, I'm modeling off of a different guy I knew, but you know, it's very important to me that you're warned off properly! So there!"
Doc looks at Grian for a while.
"Yeah, uh, man, sure. I'm... really threatened," he says.
"Really?" Grian says.
"Yeah. Really. Very threatened. Hey, uh, my elevator buttons are Grian-proof, supposedly, but I don't know if--"
"Are you--are you trying to distract me by offering me buttons? I'll have you know that doesn't work anymore! Not when it comes to Mumbo!" Grian says. "Although. Hypothetically. If you were telling me there were buttons I could press that you think wouldn't have consequences no matter what I did. That sounds like a challenge."
"Yeah, man, I mean, uh. No. Don't press my buttons--"
"Gotta go bye," Grian says, very quickly, and he shoots out of Doc's bedroom. Doc stares after him through the door.
"I'm going back to fucking bed," Doc says, because frankly, this has convinced him he doesn't need to be awake. And also a security system. A security system that can roast pesky birds. He's sure he can come up with something. Mm. Roast bird. He falls back asleep, vaguely convinced he'd dreamed up the whole incident.
(In the morning, he finds a very grumpy Grian stuck in his elevator. Well. He supposes having to fix it is worth the expression on Grian's face there.)

As promised:
Tumblr media
I present for the hermitblr fanfic community:
Don't Waste Your Time on Me
Joe had lived in this house for as long as he could remember. Well, maybe 'lived' wasn't the right word. He'd certainly occupied it for a long time. Long enough to know that he wasn't exactly corporeal anymore.
Maybe this cabin in the woods of Tennessee had been his home. Maybe it had just been a vacation spot. Maybe it had been a prank gone wrong. Joe didn't know. He couldn't remember anymore.
You'd think being a ghost alone in a cabin in the forest would make you lonely, but Joe had occasional company. Sometimes young people would come and spend the night in the cabin, somehow convinced that he was out to get them for some reason. Once, one of these groups brought a Ouiji board and asked him questions. That had been nice. At least until one of the boys had forced the board to spell 'D I E' and the rest of them had panicked and ran out of the house. The board was still on the floor, covered in a thin layer of dust now.
So when the headlamps of a truck momentarily filled the windows of the cabin, Joe thought he was in for another night of quiet whimpers and macho teenage boys. He was very surprised then when a group of men came in and started waving devices around.
One of them went to the attic straight away and Joe felt the electric fuzz of the breaker box being turned on for the first time he could remember.
"Got the breaker," the man said into the radio pinned to his shoulder.
"Thanks Skizz," answered one of the others. This one was wearing a shirt with a bright yellow "i" in the center. "Hey Scar, got anything yet?"
The man who was called Scar called back through the radio from the other side of the cabin, "Nothing on the para-pa-dock-a-paul." He was wearing headphones and holding a device that looked like a gun meshed with a satellite dish. Out of the three of the men in the cabin, he seemed the most nervous, scrunching his shoulders and darting his eyes around. His hands shook as he flipped a light switch on the wall.
"I'm not gonna hurt you," Joe said exasperatedly to himself, rolling his eyes. Suddenly, the tall man gave a high-piched squeak and jumped in fright.
"Th-the g-g-ghost said 'hurt you'" he stammered, ripping the headphones off shakedly and letting them fall to the floor.
"Where? Where?" said the man in the 'i' shirt, hurriedly waving around what looked like a weather thermometer.
"In th-the l-l-living r-room, I think," Scar said, scrambling to pick up his device from the floor. "Hoo, that was scary!"
As the other two men rushed into the room where he was, Joe instinctually backed away to the side. What were these guys trying to do, he wondered. That was the first time someone had heard him speak, though they misinterpreted what he had said. Cautiously, he walked around them into the hallway and watched, curious. They set up a video camera in the corner of the room and started to spread salt in piles on the floor. Joe hoped that these guys would at least clean up after themselves with the mess they were making. Even though he didn't really need a clean house like an alive person would, it was the principle of having a tidy home.
"Yeah, it's definitely colder in here. Hey Grian or Gem, one of you wanna come in and bring spirit box?" asked the man in the "i" shirt into the radio.
"I volunteer Grian to do it!" came a feminine voice in the radio.
"Nu-uh, I did it last house. I get to be the guy in the van this time," the voice of Grian answered.
"Fine," Gem whined. "I'm on my way, Impulse."
Back in the cabin, Skizz laid a very old and impressive looking tome on the floor in the living room. "Write in the book, please," he said, looking vaguely around the room. This intrigued Joe. No one had ever asked about his poetry before. Maybe these people weren't so bad to have around, though he wasn't sure how he was going to write in the tome in his current form. He crossed back over to the living room and hovered over the book. As he contemplated what to write, there was a yell of excitement from the men.
"Oh, they stepped in the salt!" Skizz said. "Aaaaand…" He held a purple glowstick over the pile. In the middle where he had apparently stepped, Joe saw a florescent green shoe print. "We got UV!"
"Nice," Impulse said, taking out a camera and snapping a picture of the disturbed salt.
Joe didn't know he could do that. Maybe it was special salt. Joe shrugged, thinking back to the poem in his mind.
When he had finished composing the haiku in his head, he looked down in surprise to see the book transposing it on its own. He didn't know he could do that either. The men also seemed impressed as they watched this happen.
Cabin in the woods
All alone in the flora
Quiet solitude
"We've got ghost writing!" Skizz yelled into the radio. "It's super creepy when that do that, ooo-hoo-hoo-hoo!"
"Wait, look what it wrote," Impulse said, twisting his head around to orient the poem so he could read it. "Is that a poem?"
"Well that's new," said Gem, who had joined them in the living room. She bent down to look at the book as well. "Maybe we got a friendly ghost this time."
"Nu-uh," interjected Scar. "It said it was gonna hurt me!"
While they debated, Joe moved away upstairs. They were definitely a noisy bunch, these people. And with mysterious motives. Joe spent some time sitting on a chair racking his brain for what these people could be trying to do.
After a while, he heard the man named Skizz say, "Uh…Dipple-dop, I think the ghost moved. Look at the thermommy."
"Aw geez," Impulse sighed. "Alright everyone, we gotta find the ghost again."
"Hey, there's one of the those 'weezy' boards is in the corner there. Should we use it?" Scar said. "Maybe it will tell us where it is."
"Ouiji board, Scar," Grian corrected over the radio. "And if you're volunteering to do it, go ahead buddy."
"Oh, no, no no! I am not volunteering! Besides, Gem is right there next to it. Make her do it!"
"I don't wanna do it either!" Gem said.
"I'll do it then," Impulse compromised. Joe moved back downstairs, once again curious about the strange corporeal people in his house. Impulse sat down in front of the Ouiji board and picked it up temporarily to blow the dust off of it. He held his fingers lightly on the pointer piece. "What is your favorite room?" Impulse slowly spelled out on the board.
Now that's a fun question that Joe had never been asked. There were so many different kinds of interesting rooms to choose from. After a moment of pondering, he had his answer.
"Green room?" Impulse repeated to himself in disbelief as the pointer came a stop. "This cabin doesn't have a green room."
"Maybe the ghost used to be like a famous star or something," Gem guessed, shrugging with an amused smirk on her face. Joe shrugged to himself as well. He couldn't remember his life but he could at least remember his favorite color.
"Maybe we have to be more direct. 'Where are you?' Impulse spelled on the board.
"In the house," Joe helped to write back. It wasn't like he could remember the address anymore. He heard an exasperated sigh from Impulse.
"Okay, forget the Ouiji board. I think the ghost is back in here based on the thermommy," Skizz said, waving the mercury device in his hand.
"Okay Gem, you're up!" Grian said over the radio. "Everyone out and give her some room."
"O-okay…" Gem agreed nervously, holding a radio looking device in her hand. After the men had left the house, she turned on the device and started speaking into the living room.
"Hello ghost…are you near?"
Joe shook his head exasperatedly. Didn't they already figure that out already with the thermometer? What more did they want from him?
"Are you near?" Gem repeated. "Where are you?"
"AND I'M SO SORRY!" Grian yelled into the radio.
Gem sighed to herself in the room. "These boys…" she murmured before speaking into the room again. "Ghost, are you here?" She paused. "Do you speak French?"
"No, but I can speak piglatin if th-," Joe said, but was interrupted when a robotic voice in the box Gem was holding repeated the word 'No.'
"We got spirit box!" Gem announced into the radio, quickly leaving the house. "Also it doesn't speak French."
"Well that's weird, cause we just got orbies on the monitor in here, but we also got foot-fingies from it stepping in the salt earlier." Impulse said. Joe followed Gem out onto the porch and sat in the rocking chair out there. As weird as their lingo was, it was certainly entertaining watching these people.
"Well it can't be all of them, surely," Grian said. "Maybe it's a mimic?"
"I think it's a spirit," Gem said, walking back to the trailer. From where he was sitting, Joe could see a bunch of fancy screens and equipment on the walls of it.
"Could be, could be…" Scar said. He looked up to watch Gem walk up the ramp and glanced at the rocking chair where Joe was. "Ho! Ho! It followed us!" he stammered, his hands instinctually going up above his head. "It's rocking t-the thing!"
"Maybe it wants to come with?" Skizz wondered, looking at the rocking chair with amusement.
"Ooo, yeah can we keep it?" Grian said, seeming to genuinely like the idea. "Hey dads, can we have a pet ghost?"
"Yeah! Can we, can we, can we?" Gem seconded, playing along and jumping up and down in front of Impulse.
"We can't just keep it!" Impulse said, putting his hands on his hips. "And stop calling us dads."
"Well, you're no fun," Grian said.
Joe shook his head in amusement. What weird people. He got up out of the rocking chair and walked into the trailer with them. Why not, he thought, it beats being alone in the woods again.
"Hey ghost, if you're in here and want to come with us, pick up the clipboard and put it on the keyboard," Gem said. Joe hesitantly reached out to the object, unsure if he would be able to grip it. To his surprise, he lifted it into the air. Yet again surprised by his own powers, Joe placed the clipboard on the keyboard on the desk inside the trailer.
"Ey! We got a pet ghost! Let's go!" Grian yelled, pressing a button to have the trailer door close automatically.
Joe felt the unfamiliar jolt of being in a moving vehicle. He looked around at the ragtag group he found himself surrounded by and wondered what kind of adventure he had gotten himself into.
END
I hope y'all enjoyed that. I decided that since Joe gets to break the game rules of Phasmo then I can break the rules and have a 5 man Phasmo team in order to include Gem. I'm curious what kind of shinanigans jhost would have in the Phasmo lobby... Thanks for reading!

I'M SO. ILL. LIFE SERIES ETHOSLAB RANT TIME.
When Etho cares for an ally, he'll sacrfice something of his own to save them, and it often means losing things that betters his chance at survival. Survival is very important to him.
Like, he doesn't consider himself a protector, but DAMMIT man he's always protecting. He's said himself, "I'm not a protector, Cleo. I'm a runner." But when Scar threatens to forcibly take back the life he gave Bdubs, he rushes to sign that weird contract the wizard guy offered because he doesn't want Bdubs to lose his life again. When Cleo is being chased by practically everyone on the server, he refuses to disclouse her location, even when everyone threatens to kill him because he chooses instead to be loyal to her.
It's ETHO who parades around the server to try and save Bdubs at the expense of losing time to do a boogey kill. THAT will get him killed, and he doesn't even need to get a life for Bdubs, but he does. He knows he can't win a fight against someone like Gem, but he protects Cleo and Grian anyways.
He protected them with what he could do. What he does best is lie and deceive and manuver his way through life. He's a sneaky guy, not a strong one. He's a clever person, not a powerful fighter.
I wouldn't say Etho is particularly loyal, but I think that much is clear. Often he will prioritize his life first, even if it means that an ally of his gets hurt. He never outright betrays them, but as much as he cares for his allies, Etho still tends to be all about self-preservation. That being said, Etho still definitely cares about his allies, a lot. Hell, I didn't mention it up there, but he's also covered for and protected Tango from the hunt back in Limited Life. Man is more of a protector than he thinks he is.
Also uh...mind shattering thing my mind thought of while watching this week's session.
"I'd fail for you, yes."
"That's nice."
"Say you'd fail for me--"
"I don't know if I would go that far, Bdubs."
...
"Etho's just a survivor, Bdubs. He has no loyalty to you."
"Yeah, he's just a survivor man. That's all he does."
"...He loves me. He cares...he does!"
I'M SICK. I'M SO ILL.

Good Looking Boy
Billy (Burn 2019) x GN!Reader
Tumblr media
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
Summary: On a chilly December night, you and Billy catch up. Then, you make an important decision.
Word Count: 3.1k
Content: gender neutral reader, fluff, cursing, alcohol, mention of holidays (gift giving), slight suggestive comment
(A/n: thank you to everyone for all your support for this short multiple-part fic! It means so much to me! I hope I did its finale justice :) also credit to the person who suggested a bar scene !)
-
You watched him take a short sip of his beer as you fidgeted with your bottle.
You two agreed that you would catch up at this bar at the corner of the street when you were done with your shift. It has only been a few weeks since you’ve last seen him, but it felt like forever to you, hence the slight awkwardness in the atmosphere.
“So… did you pay off your debt…?” You ask hesitantly, continuing to fidget with the beer bottle in front of you. You finally looked at him, observing his brown eyes softening at the sight of you. The right side of his face was still scarred by the second-degree burn that hot coffee gave him. But you’ve only ever seen him like this, and so, to you, he still looked as handsome as he was since you last saw him.
“Yeah, I… I paid them off,” he answered bluntly.
“And the thing with the bikers? Are you… on good terms with them now?”
In response, he let out a scoff and a quiet chuckle, shaking his head.
“Ugh, dude, what did you do?” You say with exasperation, though amused by his lighthearted manner.
“They wanted the money, but, um… They all sort of… still hate me, so… those assholes gave me a warning: if they see my face again, they’ll kill me, so…” He trails off, taking a fairly tame swig of alcohol before he continues. You noticed that he seemed calmer since you’ve last seen him. As if he worked on himself, his temper, and spontaneous vulgarity. You admired that. “I’m gonna have to go. Unwillingly leave town, you know.”
“Damn,” you mutter, briefly sipping your drink. “That was your initial plan anyways though, right? To, like, just leave this place?”
He let out a soft sigh, which slightly puzzled you. Why did he seem so disappointed?
“Before I was on my way to meet up with them, I just… I got the idea that maybe I just shouldn’t leave. I thought that, um… leaving someplace that’s, uh… desirable… would be a very idiotic thing for me to do,” he explains, only baffling you even more.
“Okay? But you said it yourself, after you paid them off, you wanted to leave town and start anew, have a fresh start. What makes Upstate New York so… great, I guess, that you don’t want to leave?” You inquire with a lighthearted chuckle.
He fidgets with his beer bottle anxiously before looking back at you to answer. “You…”
You were stunned. You opened your mouth slightly to respond, but no words came out. You didn’t know him too well—but after an hour of being stuck together, you knew him enough, at the very least. But why did you have such an impact on him? You guessed that you had an indubitable liking for him too—similar to a childlike crush, though fueled solely by shared trauma. But you never really thought of it that much until now.
“Billy, I…” you stuttered out. “I… I mean… You had a whole plan, I… I just don’t understand. I like you, Billy, but… why should I be the reason you would want to stay here? You don’t really know me…”
“Well…” He wanted to argue that you two already learned a lot about each other from the time you’ve spent together, but even he realized it would be faulty reasoning. “Fuck, I want to get to know you better, then,” he urged gently.
He looked down at your hands, which were on the table near your drink. He reached his hands towards yours hesitantly, giving you a look by the raise of his eyebrows that asked for your permission. You nodded, watching him finally grab your hands, observing your one wrist, in which the bruise from the zip tie was completely gone. He tenderly rubbed his thumb over your wrists and palms. You felt the warm metal of his ring run against your skin as he would move his index finger. The slightly red dent on his wrist that you last saw on the day you escaped had also disappeared entirely. So it seemed like the only thing that followed him—the only thing that haunted him ever since the gas station, was his burn scar.
“I just…” he began, continuing to look down at your hands as he caressed them. It was something he did a lot, you noticed. You think it calmed him down. “I don’t know why I’m so… pulled to you. It’s fucking stupid, I know, and I’ve probably sounded like a dumbass this entire time, but… I mean it when I say I want to get to know you.”
You stared down at your hands in his, unsure of how you felt. “Well… The bikers, they said that they were gonna kill you if they see your face again. That’s, like… implying they want you out of town. You have to go, Billy. You can’t, shit, risk your life for me.”
“That’s why I want you to run away with me,” he urged softly.
“Billy—”
“I want you to come with me,” he pleads. In his mind, Billy thought it was quite ironic how he wanted you to go with him so badly; he rejected Melinda almost immediately when she asked to go with him. But this was different. You weren’t Melinda. You were you. And he desperately wanted to leave with you. But there seemed to be no way for that to happen.
“Billy, we already talked about this. I… I can’t just leave everything I have here behind,” you reason. “Plus, it’s been weeks ever since I last saw you. You had all this time to come see me, where have you been?”
He pursed his lips. “After the bikers gave me a few ‘friendly’ warning shots, I sort of left immediately. I just kept going west. Stayed in a couple motels. But it just… felt wrong, you know? I felt empty and… fuck, out of place… So, I guess I just… came back here to see you one more time…” he confessed, making your heart beat faster and face warmer. Nobody has ever done this grand of a gesture for you. You almost felt bad. You had made a deep connection with him back at the gas station, and suddenly you were worth a lot to him. “Shit, I… I honestly couldn’t stop thinking about you. I wanted to, because I knew it would be… really fucking bad if I tried to come back, but… You were always on my mind. Every second, I… thought about your laughter, and your voice, and I didn’t want to forget it. And-and most of all, you saved my life.” You frowned, because you considered it as a team effort, rather. “Something finally good in my life, for the first fucking time, happened to me and I can’t just—just stand by and let it just leave while I could do something about it.”
You were surprised, to say the least. You never knew you could be this important to someone, let alone someone you’ve only been around with for less than a day. “Billy, I—” You stammered with fluster. “I have to admit, I thought about you multiple times ever since. I sort of always wished I’d run into you whenever I went to a gas station. I think I even dreamed about you multiple times… To be honest, I always thought what would’ve happened if I said yes before and left with you.” He felt your thumb trace delicately along the back of his hand. “Never thought I’d ever think of a gas station robber as handsome and charming.” He chuckled softly in response, his lips forming into a cute, flattered smile.
“I love that you’re here, really. I love that you came back to see me,” You told him. “But… like I said, I can’t come with you.” You would love to, however, you knew it. But you couldn’t just leave everything you had here behind… Could you?
He sighed softly. “Okay, I understand,” he says. “But shit, just… Let me get to know you better before I have to leave for sure. Please. How about I just take you for a drive, then? Just around the block?”
Billy was heavily insistent. After all, he always goes for what he wants.
“The both of us have been drinking, Billy,” you say with guilt. You hated constantly rejecting him. You did want to get to know him better, you did want to spend time with him, but the circumstances and motives were utterly complicated.
You chuckled a bit, however, sort of amused by how much he wanted to be around you. “I don’t know, you can’t just, like… enjoy the moment right now?” You ask as you two look back down at your hands, which were being gently rubbed against each other, Billy’s thumb caressing the back of your hand.
“I don’t know if that’s gonna be enough for me, Y/n,” he claimed dejectedly.
“Why don’t we just take a walk, then? To, like, the nearest park or something,” you offer, feeling his warm fingertips glide softly over your nails. “We could… We could do that.”
After thinking about it for a second, he nodded compliantly.
***
It was supposed to be dark outside, however the street lamps nearby and string lights across buildings liberally illuminated the area. It has been probably half an hour since you two sat down on a park bench, just speaking to each other with occasional banter. That was probably the strongest thing you had with him: communication. Just talking about random things that led to discovering more things about one another. You’d done that while you were tied up together after all. It was how you mainly connected in that moment.
That was another thing, however. You weren’t forced in proximity anymore, but you two still wanted more of each other. Even if you didn’t show it. Your rejection did quite a number on Billy’s belief that his feelings were reciprocated, but as you two proceeded to laugh and talk together, it was reinforced.
“Okay… Quentin Tarantino.” You raise an eyebrow, grinning as you watched your warm breath escape your lips in a hazy, white mist.
“Damn. That one foot fetish guy?” he laughed.
“Yeah, the—the foot fetish guy,” you chuckle softly.
“Okay, easy, Pulp Fiction,” he answered. Met with your silence, he looked at you and you shook your head, smiling. “No?”
“No, I wouldn’t make it that obvious—”
“Kill Bill.”
“N—”
“Volume one or two?” You grin as he continued to guess wrong in your game. “Seriously, none of those?”
“From Dusk Til Dawn?” He nearly pouted, it was adorable. “I give up.”
“Jackie Brown. C’mon, man,” you snicker.
He playfully rolled his eyes, scoffing, making you giggle.
This was something you two did back at Paradise Pumps as well, while tied up and exhausted. You made a little game where you basically had to think of a movie and the other had to guess it by only knowing the name of its director.
He smiles softly as he looks at you, but then it gradually dropped, as the recurring thought that he would never see you again invaded his mind once more.
“You good?” You ask reluctantly, seeing his facial expression change.
“Yeah, I just…”
“You don’t want to leave me?” You finish his sentence with a sigh, seeing him nod in response. “It’s not so bad, Billy. You could leave, settle down, start a new life and leave behind all that crime and… biker gang beef,” you offer a small laugh before you continue.
“You could find somebody who is worthier than me. Someone who you didn’t bond with through shared trauma and forced proximity. Someone who would leave everything behind just for you, unlike me.” You wish you could, honestly. What was really stopping you? Fear? Guilt?
Billy scoffs as he listened to your statements, deeming them as bullshit. “Y/n, respectfully, shut the fuck up.” Your eyebrows raise in bewilderment. “I don’t want someone else, okay? I want you... Just you.”
Your heart nearly stopped and you looked at him with sole adoration for him.
And you had no idea what came over you in this moment, because once you heard him say this, you immediately pressed your lips to his, while hesitantly bringing your hands up to his face to gently hold it.
You heard his breath hitch as he soon melts into the kiss, moving his lips with yours and holding onto your wrists. His lips were soft and warm, and he was being nothing but gentle with you. You felt the the tender skin of his burn against your fingertips, your delicate and careful touch soothing him.
You weren’t sure what kind of confidence boost let you do something so impulsive as kissing someone. But the entire night, Billy had been relentlessly winning over your heart, expressing his immense admiration for you. You fell for him. And you had to do something about that.
“Fuck, you know, that…” he began hoarsely once your lips have separated, yet your faces were still very close to each other, switching back and forth from looking deeply into one’s eyes to their lips. “That was fucking evil. That just made it even harder for me to leave you,” he stressed as you two let out small, quiet chuckles.
He convinced you enough, you thought. What did you really have to lose…?
Or, rather, what would you gain?
“You don’t have to,” your voice was slightly raspy as you spoke with a smirk.
And what you would say next had marked your decision. “I’m coming with you, cowboy.”
He parted his lips in shock, so before he could say anything, you just kissed him again, deeply and affectionately, as you couldn’t help but smile in the kiss. You felt him pull you closer by the waist in a fairly strong grip, as if you were to disappear if he let you go. It was a sweet and affectionate kiss, the two of you expressing your admiration and fondness for each other. It was supposed to be cold, hell, it was December in New York. But you couldn’t help but feel pure warmth each second your kiss remained.
*** Two Weeks Later ***
“Open it,” you giggle softly.
“Seriously, when did you get the time to wrap a whole ass gift when we’ve been, like, on the road together this whole time?” Billy says with a smile as he examines the thin, neatly wrapped box in his hands.
“I found a service. While you were preoccupied. Now shut up. Happy Holidays. Open the damn thing.”
It’s been about two weeks since you agreed with leaving with him. After resigning from your job, you basically packed your bags and savings and he picked you up. You two didn’t face any problems so far as you traveled east. You only had an increased admiration for each other, as well as mutual understandings.
Now, you were in an empty parking lot, keeping warm inside the car during the evening. You surprised him with a wrapped gift for the holidays.
You watched him rip off the wrapping paper, making you involuntarily laugh as you saw his expression of disbelief, represented by his playful scoff and the rolling of his eyes.
‘Never Get Angry Again: The Foolproof Way to Stay Calm and in Control in Any Conversation or Situation’ by David J. Lieberman, PhD
He raised his eyebrows as he read over the cover of the anger management book and presented it to you. “Seriously?”
You snicker impishly as you see an amused smile creep at the corner of his lips. “Told you I would, didn’t I?”
“You are terrible,” Billy joked endearingly with a low chuckle.
“I know,” you retort cunningly, reaching over the center console of the car to give him a soft peck on the lips.
“But you have to admit, Y/n, I have been working on myself ever since,” he points out, making you scoff.
“Yeah, but you totally lashed out on that one guy when we were at that convenience store in Pittsburgh,” you insist.
“Okay, well, in my defense, I really didn’t like the way he was looking at you,” he shrugged with a knowing grin.
“Damn, should I have gotten you a book on jealousy as well?” you sneer.
“Hey, watch it,” he warned playfully.
“You know what, yeah, you’re right. I digress,” you concur nonchalantly. “If it weren’t for him getting an intense reaction out of you, then you wouldn’t have taken me straight to the bathroom and—”
“Okay, okay, that’s enough,” he chuckled softly as you laughed at your own delivery. “Just…” He reached in the back, grabbing a brown box that was sealed with clear tape. “Open your gift. Sorry I didn’t have the time to wrap it, like, I still have no idea how you had the time to do it behind my back, but yeah.”
He handed you his keys so you could rip the tape, then you opened the box, being met with styrofoam packaging. You removed the top layer, and then let out a small gasp as you saw the object, taking it in your hands.
It was a small Albany, New York snow globe. You were beaming as you shook it, watching the “snow” fall down on the capitol building.
“I thought you’d be homesick, so I snatched it right before we left,” he explained, smiling as he sees your reaction.
“Oh my god, Billy, it’s perfect,” you say in awe, then reach over the center console again to hug him tightly, feeling his arms wrap around you. “Thank you so much,” you say, kissing him deeply on his lips.
“‘F course, Y/n,” he mumbled sweetly, affectionately returning your kisses.
“You’re perfect,” you nearly whispered as you set the snow globe back in the box so your hands were free to hold his face. He always loved when you would do that. It brought a sort of comfort to him, making him feel safe and secure. He leaned into your touch as you kissed the right side of his face—his forehead and cheek—which were the areas that had been mildly burnt.
“Even when I robbed a gas station?” He asked under his breath, raising an eyebrow.
“Seriously?”
He always had a problem with being defined and associated with criminality, so you found it quite ironic for him to point it out.
“I’m fucking with you.”
You shove him playfully, which only resulted in him bringing you into an intense, deep kiss. “You are so perfect too, you know that?” He mutters softly. “I’m so fucking glad you came with me.” He artfully grabbed your hand and looked at you intimately as he pressed a gentle kiss to your wrist—the one that was zip tied to his. The one where the bruise on it had now been fully healed and gone.
“Me too,” you murmur ardently.

Bakugou rolled himself off of you and took his place on the right side of your bed. The both of you had a thin layer of sweat covering your bodies and you were both breathing heavily.
You and Katsuki have been together for more than a few months but were still going through the phase where you’re trying to properly figure each other out. Tonight, you passed that stage and shared your first time together after a date.
Your boyfriend craned his head to the side to look at you with your messy hair and nothing but the silky white sheets covering your nude body.
He kept gazing at you before you turned your head back at him and caught him staring at you. You exhaled through your nose and smiled softly at him. He then proceeded to scoot closer to you and wrap his arm around your shoulders, pulling you close. You reciprocated and wrapped your left arm around his waist before entangling your legs with his.
“You okay?” He asked quietly.
“Yeah, you?”
“Yeah.”
You both lay there in a comfortable silence before Katsuki spoke up again.
“Y’know when I uh- called you a slut n stuff, I didn’t actually mean it right?” He mumbled, coughing slightly at the end.
“Mhm. I like it anyways, turns me on.” You let out a small laugh, lifting your hand you gently hold Bakugou’s jaw and turn his face towards you.
Your blonde lover looks at you with his bright crimson eyes. A light shade of pink dusted across his cheeks as he practically had hearts in his eyes.
He wasn’t used to this. He wasn’t used to feeling so…relaxed around another person besides his best friend Kirishima. He didn’t even expect anything to happen between you two but here is laying in your bed beside you naked.
He also found himself becoming softer around you. Which was weird to him since he knows himself how much of an asshole he can be.
“Was it okay though? I hope I didn’t hurt you-
“Katsuki, I loved it. I really did.” You cut him off, swiping your thumb back and forth over his cheek. He sighed softly and leaned into your hand.
The butterflies that were currently swarming his stomach almost made him feel lightheaded as you pressed yourself closer to his body.
The way you ran your fingers up and down his scarred arm, even stopping to kiss it. You drive him crazy and make him feel weak at the knees without even trying.
“Whatcha thinking about, babe?” You whispered, snapping him out of his thoughts. He shook his head slightly and looked back down at you.
“You- uh, you look beautiful.”
You tilt your head up again and the corners of your lips turn up into a smile. Moving your hand to the back of his head, you pull him in for a loving kiss.
His hand grips your waist as he kisses back passionately. When you both pull away he is still looking at you.
On the inside Katsuki is debating whether or not he should say those three little words that are stuck in his head. However, Before he could think about it more his mouth took over his brain.
“I love you.”
“You do?” You replied slightly in shock that he said it first.
He slowly nodded and gave you a small smile.
“More than anything.”
“I love you too..” you whispered, pulling him in for another kiss.
Katsuki feels genuinely happy. He promises himself that he won’t do anything to hurt you and that he will love you forever.
The rest of the evening consisted of the two of you cuddling and sharing smooches.
As the sun goes down.

Chapter 5
Warnings: Typical TWD violence, reader’s poor mental health, allusions to sexual assault, whiplash from Daryl’s emotional indecision
Tumblr media
You awoke with a start, pulling your leg away from the gentle touch on your ankle. Rick was crouched at your feet. He quickly pulled back his hand and held both of them up placatingly.
“Didn’t mean to scare you.”
“It…it’s okay.” You didn't straighten your legs. You were on Daryl’s bedroll, though you weren’t sure how you got there.
“It’s time to head out. Let you sleep as long as we could but it’s late morning now.” You gave the man a nod and stumbled to your feet, allowing him to pack up the last item. “Daryl’s already at the road.” He told you even as he started walking.
You fell in step behind him, fiddling nervously with the hem of your— Daryl’s —shirt. The thought of seeing the archer after the night before made you nervous. You no longer understood what it was he wanted from you. He had turned down sex. He hadn’t tried to discipline you for any shortcomings. Maybe he meant for you to settle in first? Cook and clean? He had mentioned kids. Were they his? Was he married? Maybe you were a gift.
You felt your stomach roll uncomfortably. If you couldn’t quiet these thoughts, you would end up vomiting all over him while he carried you.
“‘Bout time. Wastin’ daylight.”
You heard Daryl before Rick had moved forward enough for you to see him. His trademark scowl was in place, and he seemed to be going out of his way to avoid looking at you. His crossbow was strapped to his back and his pack was hanging from one shoulder. Maybe he planned to have you walk today. You definitely deserved it.
“Whenever you’re ready, I can, uh—” Rick made a motion that you took to mean he would lift you.
“Oh, I… um… Sir?” You asked, voice small.
“Told ya ta stop sayin’ tha’ shit!” Daryl snapped. His back remained to you but he had obviously worked this out with Rick while you slept.
You couldn’t explain how you felt at that moment. It wasn’t fear. It wasn’t guilt. It was something only vaguely familiar from a life you had been forced to bury. You dared to keep your head raised, perhaps provoking a reaction that would never come. He simply would not look at you.
“Y/N.” Rick said gently. You instantly slumped with a minute nod and allowed the man to scoop you into his arms.
Tumblr media
Daryl stood with his back to the tree that separated him and Rick from you. After hours of walking the former sheriff had needed a break and maybe some water and carbs would be beneficial as well. You had pointed toward the lake with a trembling hand, but the archer continued to avoid you. It was Rick that gave you permission to clean up in the shallows with the understanding that he and Daryl would be close by, just in case.
“So she’s not talking at all now. Not a word in all that time. I asked about her family. Her background.”
Rick was scolding him, he knew, but he just couldn’t seem to get the thought of you placing yourself on his lap out of some twisted sense of obligation out of his head. Even worse, he couldn’t help but think how if it had been an action of your own free will, he probably would have fucked you.
Daryl knew you were confused. He had ripped you out of an apocalyptic whorehouse where you had clearly been conditioned to be submissive and pliant. This was a new world for you. You weren’t being returned to any measure of the life you had known before being taken by those goons.
There was a part of him that wished he had left you there, along with the burden of responsibility he’d placed on himself by bartering for your freedom. If ya can even call it tha’. But the part of him that had been softened by his time spent with this family he’d found after the world had ended; that part would have never allowed it. Not after seeing your scars. Ones that so closely resembled his own.
“You even listening to me?”
“Yeah, man, I hear ya. I jus’… let me clear my head fer a bit.” Daryl tossed down the blade of grass he’d been toying with. Rick had every right to hound him; to say ‘I told you so.’ That wasn’t exactly what his friend was saying but it was close enough. “M’a figure it out.”
“Okay. Okay, just try to—”
Your piercing scream had both men rounding the tree with weapons drawn, finding you sprawled on the lake bank. You were desperately trying to crawl away but a bloated, discolored hand held tight to your ankle.
“Sir! Please, Sir, help!” You cried, your nails digging into the dirt in an attempt to pull yourself away from the threat. Daryl slid to the ground beside you, severing the hand just above the wrist before tossing the knife in the air for Rick to skillfully catch. While Rick waded in far enough to dispose of the walker, you were frantically crawling into Daryl’s arms. A sobbing, trembling mess, you had obviously forgotten you were unclothed, and oddly enough, Daryl was calm as he reached for the button up he had given you to drape it across you in a poor attempt to cover your nudity. “I’m sorry… I’m sorry I called you that. You said not to and I’m sorry!” You babbled against his shirt.
Daryl’s eyes met Rick’s, nodding to the man that he had things under control. He sucked at consolation, as well as any other form of emotion that required verbiage. “S’fine. Did it bite ya? Scratch ya?” You probably didn’t understand why he was asking and goddamnit, he’d have to explain eventually, but you shook your head against him anyway. A quick glance down toward your foot confirmed your response. “Yer okay. S’gone now.”
He continued to sit with you, one hand awkwardly rubbing circles over your shoulder blade while you calmed down but continued muttering apologies. Daryl wasn’t sure you even knew what you were apologizing for anymore.
“We need to get moving if we’re gonna make it back before nightfall.” Rick’s voice sounded from the other side of the tree.
“Yeah.” Daryl cleared his throat. “Think ya can, uh…” He held up the boxer shorts, hoping you were cognizant enough to realize what he was asking. There was one more sniffle and then you sat up straighter, not even attempting to cover yourself. The archer made a noise in his throat and swiftly turned his head. He felt you tug on the boxers and let you take them, getting to his feet. He managed one step toward the tree when your tiny voice called out.
“Please… please, sir—sorry. Um, would you just…would you stay there please?”
“Yeah. Yeah, okay.” Daryl took a deep breath and shoved his hands in his pockets, desperately thinking of anything else aside from how you had just been wet and naked and latched onto him. You had been terrified and almost walker chow, and here he was letting his dick take the wheel. Yer an asshole.
“Okay. I’m, uh…I’m done.” You stepped up beside him, pausing without looking up. “Thank you.” You whispered, eyes on the ground, and walked toward where Rick waited.
Daryl watched you round the tree and all he could think about was who he pissed off in a past life for all of this to be happening. As if all that had occurred before you wasn’t bad enough, he had gone and made himself responsible for someone that just might be more fucked up than he himself was.
Rick was wrapping an arm around the small of your back and bending to lift you when Daryl suddenly grunted and quickened his steps toward you. “I got ‘er.” He huffed, averting his gaze when your head raised, big doe eyes blinking at him in confusion. With another grunt in lieu of speaking, he quickly scooped you up. “Le’s get goin’.”
He could feel his friend’s eyes on him and that annoying know-it-all smirk. There was no way Rick knew anything since Daryl himself wasn’t sure about the feelings stirring below the surface. He didn’t do feelings. He simply wanted to get back to the prison and see if being around the women there could help you in some way. He was doing a service for someone in a bad situation. That was all.
You were trembling in his arms and had lowered your head, curling up as tightly as you could without compromising his hold. Your wet hair was plastered to your skin and his shirt, but you remained blessedly silent. He wasn’t sure he even could speak to you at that moment.
Daryl had been walking for just under an hour when he realized you had fallen asleep. He continued to refuse to entertain the implications that came along with that simple fact. He could at least say with honesty that he hoped speaking with someone like Carol could help you. Regardless of the situation, he wished you no ill will. He just couldn't help you more than he already had by freeing you.
Fuck.
Why couldn’t he stop thinking about this?
A small sound from his arms startled him from his thoughts, his steps slowing until he stopped, not alerting Rick just yet. He watched with narrowed eyes as you seemed to shrink even smaller, curl impossibly tighter. Frightened whimpers were all he could make out until you pressed your thighs together so hard that they shook, your hands covering your lower pelvis. You said one clear word:
“No.”
Daryl felt an unexpected rage surging through his veins. He didn’t know you but he didn’t have to. No one deserved to experience what you had been forced to endure.
“Ow,” you whimpered, your small fingers clutching at the front of the boxers. “Please…stop…” Your voice, sleep-laden as it was, trembled, your bottom lip quivering. You were crying.
The archer’s first reaction was to panic, maybe hand you off to Rick and get as far away from your trauma as he possibly could. A glance ahead showed Rick had already stopped and was watching with an expression between confusion and worry. There was no way he could have heard your small sounds, so to the former deputy, Daryl had just stopped and was watching you for no apparent reason. Lovely.
Daryl lifted you slightly, subsequently lowering his head so his mouth was next to your temple. “No one’s gon’ hurt ya now.” He said as softly as he could manage. He nodded to Rick to keep going, feeling you begin to relax.
No, he was sure he couldn’t help you, but that wouldn’t stop him from returning to the place that held you and burning it to the ground with every one of those sadistic bastards still inside.

Could I get Siren!Soap and Siren!Roach? With (brutal captain?) Pirate!Ghost? Please?
Barking, jumping on my little toes, yeah I can, especially the brutal part
Ghost felt like he was going insane. He knew that Soap and Roach couldn't be human. He suspected for so long that something was wrong with them but now it was a persistent problem.
The two of them had... bewitched him somehow. Clearly. In their presence, Ghost's thoughts were consumed by them. How beautiful they were. How brave. How cool as well. Also, an ever growing anxiety on what they thought about him.
Away from them, his brain worked normally and he could realize how evil they were.
Right now, he watched them from afar, they talked amongst each other. Well, Soap talked. Roach never spoke, just watched him and listened. They were so pretty together. Pictures of beauty.
Ghost knew they could not be human. Impossible.
His cold heart would not open so easily. However, despite how cruel he could be to others, he had trouble being mean to him. He assumed this had something to do with the curse they had put on him, but the idea of doing what he would do to anyone else, skinning them, having them tied to the mast and whipped, tying them up tight and dangling them over the edge so they drowned, well... it bothered him.
Naively, he told all of this to his friends Price, Alejandro, Rodolfo and Alex. Gaz was nearby but had "gotten distracted". Lately, he had been avoiding him.
"I'm sorry. You're saying that last night you slept with them," "Yes." "and this is a problem... why?" Price asked, confused.
Ghost frowned. "Because they've bewitched you?"
Alex hummed. "I mean... sounds like you need it. Might make you a bit happier."
Ghost threw his hands up. "But they're not human!"
"Yeah, but you're getting laid. So why are you complaining?" Alejandro pointed out. He glanced at Rodolfo who had a funny smile on his face.
They did their stupid telepathic thing and Ghost looked away. "Yes, but it's... different. It's not just... sex. I want to be with them."
Price sighed. "Simon." He gave him a pity smile. "have you considered that maybe, just maybe, you like them? It's not a bad thing to want companionship."
"I do not need companions. You all are not listening. They're evil."
All of them exchanged glances before glancing over him.
Ghost got up and left, whistling to indicate to his crew they also needed to come with. He went straight to his quarters to be alone.
The footsteps that followed him made it clear that wouldn't be happening. A rational person would tell the sea witches to be gone, but he was a weak man. So he quietly undressed, hung up his Captain's hat, and went inside, leaving the door open.
Roach's hands were on his back, tracing the whip scars under his shirt. His soft lips pressed to his back, sending shivers down his spine before his deft little hands unbuttoned Ghost’s shirt.
"Hey, Bug."
Roach grabbed his waist and squeezed gently. He smiled against his back and Ghost hated that he was so weak as to allow this.
Soap started to undo the laces of Ghost's shoes, looking up at him. “Captain…”
“Johnny…”
Soap kissed his thigh and then moved to undoing the laces of his pants.
“Evil.” Was all Ghost managed, only met by their laughter.
“So evil.” Soap agreed while he smiled at him. “Irrefutably. And why exactly am I evil?”
Ghost refused to answer, instead looking away. "Dastardly...."
Soap laughed and Ghost could feel Roach's shoulder shaking. "Uh huh."
Ghost stepped out of his shoes and kicked his pants off. He closed his eyes as he was moved around. Roach tapped his jaw and lifted his mouth to just his mask. They kissed quietly as Roach licked into his mouth, moaning softly.
Soap gently kissed Ghost's stomach. "Bug, can I have him first?"
Roach nodded immediately and kissed Ghost's neck. He bit him gently to make him groan.
Soap kissed Roach to thank him, both of them exchanging a good bit of tongue. Ghost swallowed and watched him. They noticed and quickly gave him more attention. Kissing down his neck and along his chest. Roach grabbed his pecs and squeezed.
Ghost looked away as Soap trailed his fingers further down.
"Simon," Soap said gently and it made Ghost shiver at the use of his real name and not the one he chose for pirating, "you okay?" Roach forced Ghost to look at him, right into his eyes as Soap continued. "If you don't want it, we can leave?"
"Please don't leave." Ghost rasped.
Soap sank down on to him, a perfect fit. "Good. That's what I like to hear. You change your mind and it's over okay?" He twisted his hips and the heat tightened around him. Pleasure rushed through his veins until he almost went deaf from the blood rushing in his ears. They always made him feel like this. Never pressured into anything. Always pleased and... loved. Like that was something he was capable of feeling. Their every touch was magic but especially like this, alone and against his bare and scarred skin. Gentle and sweet and ready to listen to cues that Ghost didn't even understand.
Ghost nodded and felt Roach's lips on his neck. He closed his eyes and groaned softly. "I know. It's diabolical what you do."
Roach laughed and traced the words into his skin. Gentle and careful over his chest. The lines overlapped and didn't make sense but he knew he was speaking to him. He made a questioning hum.
Ghost answered. "Putting me under spells. Giving me this..." He groaned as Soap shifted. Like he read his mind, Soap knew he wanted soft and sweet. He rode him with no amount of haste, enjoying himself and making sure Ghost did too.
"You think I'd need a spell?" Soap ground down on him and he melted in pleasure. "Roach definitely doesn't."
Roach grinned and leaned in, biting his earlobe. His soft humming did something to Ghost's brain. It didn't... take anything away or control him. As much as he wanted to just blame that, it clearly wasn't as simple. Instead, it simply eased his anxieties. Made it easier to give in to the offer.
Because he didn't want sex. Not really. He wanted their affections. Their love.
And they knew this. The evil, tyrannical, dastardly-
Roach kissed him sweetly and Soap sped up. They fought a little over who got to kiss his neck and who kissed his lips, so they kept alternating, keeping him dizzy.
Ghost turned his head and tried to breath. He tightened his grip on both of them and came hard, head spinning. Soap kissed him softly and pulled away.
Roach quickly replaced them, much more excitedly. He kissed him frantically as he tried to get Ghost hard again before quickly riding him. His mouth was soft against his throat, trying to bite down. Teeth far too sharp to be human pierced him.
A voice rose above it all. A simple order that his entire body fought against but ultimately obeyed.
"Relax."
Ghost felt like he was floating. Roach attacked his neck and shoulders to litter him with bites as he bounced as quickly as he could.
Soap gripped Ghost's hair and tugged a little, listening to the guttural noise it got out of him. Ghost yanked him closer and bit his throat hard enough to bleed right as he came again. Vision whiting out and ears ringing.
He woke up moments later, licked clean, saliva still drying on his chest with both of them laying all over him.
"Why do you insist we have to be evil?"
Ghost grunted. Maybe he was wrong. It didn't make much sense for them to not be human. Roach didn't ev-
Lyrical and alluring, Roach spoke. "And it's not like we're going to eat you." Soap laughed, sharp teeth showing.
Ghost thought about it for a moment. He should kick them out. Be sane.
He pulled them closer to sleep.

Ghost
He never believed in soul mates. Not in the matter that most people thought. Sure, they were real, sure there was someone out there destined to be ones other's match. Ghost just didn't believe it meant anything. Not really.
He of course had seen what it lead to.
His mother, destined to be with his father. They were soul mates and yet he treated her just as bad. His father loved his mother, sure, but he loved himself so much more.
So when that fated day came, that one when a bullet hit Ghost directly on his thigh, he couldn't help but be a little relieved.  The nurses had been so sympathetic, the doctors too. They hadn't been able to save the soul mark. Now replaced with a gunshot scar. A blessing in disguise. It was a weight off his shoulders.
Escaped. He had escaped destiny.
-
Legs rather comfortable on Soaps lap, you hand your arm over your eyes while you quietly rest. "How'd you get this one?" He poked the scar just under your knee. If anyone else had asked, you would have given them a piece of your mind. Asking about a scar wasn't a line that everyone could cross.
"Some dude tried to go for my kneecap and missed."
"Ouch."
"Didn't even hit me hard enough to shatter my kneecaps regardless of his shit aim."
The door clicked open and you heard the quietest of footsteps enter the room. "Sergeants." Ghost.
"Hey LT, what's the sit'?"
"Price's put us all on mandatory vacation leave." Your arm lift from your face at his voice as you stared at him.
"For real?" You asked, disbelief written across your face.
"Two weeks." You heard a huff from his voice as he sat down opposite to you. There was almost a relief in his eyes. He had been working hard. Too hard.
"Well gives the pair of you a perfect amount of time for a honeymoon huh-" Soap's tease was cut off by your kick but only made him laugh harder. Your relationship with Simon wasn't a secret, not to Soap anyway.
"Alright, alright I was joking. Shite."
"Perhaps you could use that two weeks to learn how to be funny." Your eyes narrowed at him.
"You wound me." He jabbed a finger next to a scar. "Speaking of wounds, How'd you get this one?" You looked over to the exposed skin just under your shirt.
You froze for a moment and your eyes didn't go to Soaps, but to Ghosts. The pair of you had never brought up the matter at hand. Soul marks, it never seemed important. So many people so dedicated to finding that person that the world designed for them, it just didn't seem to matter for you. You loved Ghost, you didn't want to know it was because of an outside force. You loved him and nothing would change that.
"That's my soul mark."
"Damn, that's rough. Not a pretty one." Soap looked down at the nasty scar.
"No, I mean it was. Alright, so when I was a kid I was totally in love with this girl at school called Lilith."
"Oh yeah?" He raised a brow while Ghost continued to watch.
"But she had a different soul mark than mine and wouldn't even look at someone who wasn't her soul mark. She was only gonna date her soulmate."
"What happened?"
"I figured I couldn't have the same one as her but maybe she would date me if I didn't have one. Like how would she ever know if I lost it."
"So you burnt it off?" Soap looked at you with slight horror.
"Cut actually. It uh, really fucking hurt but man she was really pretty." Soap straightened his back slightly and you swallowed.
"I presume it didn't work out."
"We started dating happily and were together up until right before I joined the military. Until her actual soulmate showed up."
"Ohhhh, rough." He gave you a look of sympathy.
"At the time? Was not happy. But I think everything worked out okay." Your eyes locked onto Ghosts for a moment.
"Cute. What about this one?" Soap asked and you looked at the scar on your hand.
"Think that was when I burnt myself making an omelette." Soap barked out a laugh and you could have sworn you saw Ghost's eyes squint from a smile.
"For fucks sake, Soap!" A grumble turned into a yell and the pair of you froze at Price's voice. In all honesty, Price didn't shout like that very often, especially at one of you. Normally it was more akin to a tired sigh.
"Whaddya do this time?" You removed your legs from his lap.
"Better go find out." He jumped up and cracked his neck. "If you don't hear from me in three hours then I want stripers at my funeral." He gave you a wink and headed out the door. The fact he locked the door after him wasn't something you missed.
Silence settled between the pair of you. Eventually, Ghost spoke up. "Can I see it?" Your eyes lift up and met his. You knew exactly what he meant.
"Sure. It's just a scar now, nothing special." Ghost stood up and towered his way over to you. He replaced Soap and your feet settled on his lap. Carefully, Simon removed the mask from his face and placed it on the coffee table next to you. You watched as he bit the top of his glove and slid it off his hand for it to join his mask.
His hand gently grazed the old scar. "Do you regret it?"
"No. Not really, to be honest after things didn't work out with Lilith I didn't think I would date again."
"Why did you?" His brown eyes settled on yours while he continued to stroke the scar.
"Well, we spent what like three months skirting around each other?"
"Four."
"Mmm, I mean you're an attractive man Simon. Enough to make someone change their mind."
"You couldn't see my face."
"What can I say, I'm a sucker for tats." You grinned and he raised a brown. His curled lips betrayed him and you let out a small laugh. "Honestly blame Soap, dunno if he did the same to you but god fucking dammit was he a persistent wingman. I enjoy your company and he didn't let me forget that."
"Hmm, seems he played matchmaker for the pair of us."
"Are you really surprised? It's Soap, he loves to meddle."
"Probably why Price is ripping him a new one," Simon muttered and his eyes sent back to the scar.
"Does it bother you?" Your voice was small, quiet and concern drew across your face. "That I don't have a mark anymore. That we will never know if we were made for each other." Simon paused and then suddenly got up from the chair only adding to your uncertainty. He placed his leg on the coffee table and started to pull up his trouser leg.
Confused you watched him until he pointed to a particular scar. "See that there?"
"You got shot?" You raised a brow.
"That there's where my mark god before it was shot. Lucky bullet. Can't be upset with you an't having one if I don't have one now."
Simon let the trouser leg fall and sat back down on the couch. This time he grabbed your legs and pulled you up onto his lap. It was a swift movement that had you automatically let out a small laugh. He had that adoring look on his face. The corners of his lips all crinkled up. Now with you in arm's reach, his bare hand caressed your face. "Couldn't give a flying fuck about that shite. I'm with you because I want to be, not because some destiny bullshit tells me to. But because I choose to love you."
Price
It had been a completely innocent moment that he saw it. That mark on your torso. A cropped singlet showed it off while you played netball with your squad. A particular game that Gaz had joined. Price wasn't even supposed to be there, he was only getting Gaz. Yet he froze when he saw that mark. The one that was identical to the on his wrist. Just under his watch.
Gaz forgotten about, Price had a call he had to make.
"Look, Kate, doesn't need to be somewhere safe or dangerous just anywhere but where I am."
"John I can't just have people reassigned for no good reason. Are you trying to sabotage their career? Is this a personal thing?"
"No, fuck, I'm not trying to fuck with their career. I'll be compromised around them, it's not a problem now but it might be in the future."
"Are you in a relationship with this person? Or were you?" Kate asked and John let out a sound of slight frustration through the phone.
"They're my soul mate Kate. They don't know it but I saw it." The line went silent. John eventually heard a sigh on the other end of the line.
"I'll do what I can."
-
After that phone call, John hadn't heard from you again. Despite the desire for companionship feeling deep down inside of him, he knew he did the right thing. It wasn't your fault and it wasn't his. Yet he had decided to override date, to override destiny.
Laswell never told him where she sent you. On any other day, he would have said that was for the better.
Any other day.
Gaz sprinted alongside him, guns firing about near them. "Fuck!" He could hear Gaz as the building nearby crumbled down into dust, a building they had just come from.
The pair of them were overrun and for a moment he looked at Gaz and regretted bringing him to his death. There were just too many from too many directions. With no proper cover, the pair of them were fish in a barrel. Bullets came from in front of them but not at them. By some miracle, a door opened while gunfire continued to cover them.
The door promptly shut behind them as both Gaz and Price fell to the ground in their hurried movement.
"Well, I'll be damned, long time no see Gaz." You held a hand out for him and Price watched as you pulled Gaz off the ground.
"Hey, Lieutenant! Didn't expect you to be here." Lieutenant? Price never knew you were promoted. Then again it's not like he wanted to hear about you, it was easier pretending you didn't exist.
"Yeah well, not the worst place to be at. I presume you guys are here due to the attack three days ago?"
"Affirmative on that." Price finally spoke up, he could pretend at least now that you weren't his soul mate.
"We have been here since then, then you two were running through dead man's land."
"Are you guys stuck here?" Gaz asked while you lead them over to a table with a map on top.
"Of course not. We have an underground pathway in our access. But they don't know that. They think that we are stuck here, they tried to push a could of times but Katey up in the best keeps taking them out."
"Are they hoping to starve you out then?" Gaz asked and you nodded.
"Yup in the meantime we have been setting up."
"Setting up what?" Price asked and you gave him a big grind.
"Fireworks show of course. The tunnels below here are far more extensive than everyone originally thought. It goes directly under their set up so we are going to hit the supports."
"Have it crumble from beneath them." Gaz breathed and you nodded.
"Only problem is that there's a high chance that our tunnels will collapse too, we are right on a cliff face so it's gonna be close." Your Sergent popped up next to you.
"This is Sergeant Lawyerson. Demolitions and structural expert."
"The idea is we will evacuate everyone first. " You explained.
"Speaking of, we should get to that. I onto have one set of charges left."
"Right we have to be quick then, when they realise that we don't have people at their posts they might push."
"I'll go get them in place now. Captain, Sergent do you mind looking after my men? There's a side path on the mountain we need to take, it goes from tunnel to straight cliff face. It's pretty risky but KitKat knows the way."
They both gave you a nod and started to work with the squad to leave. Yet Price's eyes lingered on you for a moment. You were a storm, not one to be trifled with. You spoke with certainty and confidence. The perfect leader for your squad. He could see the trust in their eyes.
"Lieutenant!"
"What is it, Katey?"
"Fuck, they got a tank out here!" Price watched as you froze for a moment then sprinted to the exposed gap then swore.
"Right, everyone evacuates now. KitKat eyes front."
"What about Attorney?"
"I'll get Lawyerson, the rest of you go." Price was swept up with the small crowd and followed KitKat down a tunnel. He only had a glimpse of you before you ran down a different path away from him.
"Captain, this way." KitKat had a kind smile on her face but he couldn't help but feel the pit in his stomach form. Was this a result of the bond? Or was this a gut feeling? He couldn't tell.
With Gaz in front of him, he was led through the path until he reached outside. It was an old climbing path, the bridges were old and wooden while the actual path was thin. It didn't allow for fast movement.
A few minutes later his head whipped around to see you following your Sargent. "Blow it." You commanded as the pair of you expertly hurried down the path. Far faster than everyone else had. He couldn't help but wonder how many times the pair of you had travelled it in the last few days.
"We're too close to the blast!" Price's eyes went to the entryway as more voices started to echo down.
"We can't let them reach here else everyone's dead. There's no cover here."
"We can handle some!" She protested.
"Some, not a goddamn army." You were right. She glanced at you over her shoulder then hit the detonator.
A rumble echoed it as the pair of you continued to sprint. Echos of your enemies' screams carried through the tunnel and out into the open. True to Lawyersons suspicions, the tunnels on your side had started to collapse too.
Unfortunately, not all your foes were caught. A brief area by the exit was reinforced rather well and they survived. Meanwhile, the path around you started to crumble. Gaz lit up his gun in an attempt to cover the pair of you.
Price snapped to action just in time for the wooden bridge to collapse under both you and Lawyerson. She managed to barely leap over to safety but your jump, slightly further back didn't make it.
But he caught you.
Price's hand found yours as he dove prone to the side. With one hand off the side, you dangled to his hand. "I got you." His eyes bore into yours as the pair of you tried to pull you up. Yet the wood that you used cracked under your weight and all progress was lost. Lawyerson recovered and went to help pull you up but a bullet in her leg had her cry out.
A curse left John's mouth as a gunshot hit his shoulder. They were getting lit up trying to save you. Your eyes turned to see the small group that had survived. They were aiming for the three of you.
"Let go, you need to leave." Your voice came and for the first time in a very long time. He froze.
"I'm not leaving you."
"You will die if you stay and I'll die regardless. Don't water your life like this. " He felt your hand go limp against him and he used all his strength to continue holding on.
"I can't."
"They always said you were such a level-headed man. Let go. Don't put the weight of your death on me. Lawyerson will need help with that leg of hers. Save her."
His eyes glanced at the small mark on his exposed wrist, your eyes followed him and you gave him a weak smile. John couldn't say it out loud, that he was your soul mate. A man you only knew from word of mouth.
"I already knew. Gaz showed me a picture of the pair of you, your wrist was showing." His lips parted.
"You didn't say anything."
"Love wasn't an option for me. Soulmates? That's a fantasy for civilians to have. Not us. But for what it's worth, if there was anyone worth being cosmically tied to, your a pretty damn amazing man to be it."
He shouted your name and with your free hand, you pried yourself from his grip. "Go!" So John watched as you fell, a love finished before it had even started.

Yandere Neighbor Wars: Less Than Safe
Tomura Shigaraki 🎮✋🏻 vs Dabi 🪡🔥
Tumblr media
🎮✋🏻🪡🔥You knew your neighborhood wasn’t the safest  🎮✋🏻🪡🔥If the hole-y walls and cheap rent weren’t enough to prove that  🎮✋🏻🪡🔥The raucous sounds of criminal activities would do the trick 🎮✋🏻🪡🔥And while this wasn’t the neighborhood to confront your neighbors for anything  🎮✋🏻🪡🔥You seemed to have an odd tendency for this to happen 🎮✋🏻🪡🔥“Hey gorgeous you come here often?” 🎮✋🏻🪡🔥“I live here…obviously.” 🎮✋🏻🪡🔥“Doubt it. There’s no way a goody-two-shoes actually lives here.” 🎮✋🏻🪡🔥“Oh? Then it wasn’t this goody-two-shoes' wall you shot 4 stray bullets into?” 🎮✋🏻🪡🔥You’re lackadaisical neighbor covered in tattoos, piercings, and stitches: Dabi  🎮✋🏻🪡🔥Who doesn’t care all that much for your safety until he puts two and two together 🎮✋🏻🪡🔥Suddenly he’s smoking a blunt on your shared block  🎮✋🏻🪡🔥Or outside your workplace 🎮✋🏻🪡🔥“What’sa matter babe, I’m just here ta protect ya don’t mind me.” 🎮✋🏻🪡🔥Your other neighbor isn’t so forward 🎮✋🏻🪡🔥“Uhm I think they gave me, your package.” 🎮✋🏻🪡🔥“Ugh of course those morons would do that! I’m going to kill that—Whoa!” 🎮✋🏻🪡🔥“...Uh sir…hello?” 🎮✋🏻🪡🔥“....Yeah…” 🎮✋🏻🪡🔥After your meeting you find yourself plugging in more of these mysterious holes 🎮✋🏻🪡🔥And having to deliver more packages that are delivered to you 🎮✋🏻🪡🔥Even the ones that possibly contain human remains+ 🎮✋🏻🪡🔥“Yeah this is definitely going to keep happening so just let yourself in, it's easier to acclimatize you that way.”  🎮✋🏻🪡🔥Though it seems your neighbors already butt their heads quite a lot it gets even worse when they both seem keen on changing your situation:
“Where is this breeze even—Dabi!? What the heck, man!? What’d I say about breaking in through the window?” You dropped your coat and work uniform to dash across the little space to close the window, passing by the intruder who was much more interested in penning a new name onto his ankle. You didn’t wait for a response, continuing to talk as you did your usual perimeter check.
“You’re practically making my place open season for all the weirdos with an open window like that!”
Dabi scoffed, “Babe, your open season because you’re you. I’m in fact holding down the fort.”
You shook your head putting your dropped things back in place.
“Riiight. And it doesn’t have anything to do with eating my food?”
The man put a scarred hand to his chest feigning pain as his familiar smirk spread across his face.
“Aww babe, you think so low of me?”
“I think low is an understatement. They think you’re dirt.”
The blunt and gravelly voice of Tomura Shigaraki rang throughout the bedroom growing louder as he shuffled into the living room, a portable game in hand. You did a double take as you were sure you walked in there but you shrugged letting him make himself at home. After all, this was normal for you to be the host to your no doubt criminal neighbors.
“That’s awfully bold of you, packrat. (Y/n) loves me don’t you babe?”
“Don’t call them that and don’t let everyone know how delusional you really are. (Y/n) attracts enough creeps already.”
“Well King Incel,” “I’m not a–” “Yes you are, and I’m the least of their problems. In fact, I’ll be their precious hero, ain’t that right baby?”
You chuckled while shaking your head before beginning to close your bedroom door. Sticking your head out when they got up to follow you.
“Ah ah I’m taking a shower and no this isn’t a group activity! If you come in I’ll stab you, got it?”
“...”
“Got. It?”
“Fine, fine.” “Maybe next time sugar.”
With the slam of the door and a click of your lock, a tense silence fell over the room. The only sound was the cries and screams and the sound of bullets from Tomura’s game system. When the sounds abruptly stopped Tomura was the one who spoke.
“Their hero, huh? You’ve got plans or something?”
Dabi sucked his teeth, dubiously grinning at Tomura’s glaring pair of eyes.
“I thought you were a gamer no? Aren’t you supposed to wait for my big reveal?”
Tomura growled, clutching the game in his hands.
“Forget that. You’re going to do something stupid and everyone knows you don’t leave the dumb to their devices. So what’s your plan.”
“...”
At Dabi’s silence, Tomura felt a surge of anger slamming his game into a nearby coffee table. He gritted his teeth and banged his fist.
“DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM!? I’ll figure it out eventually so you might as well tell me!”
Dabi groaned, he would have laughed had it been anyone else but he wasn’t so stupid to poke the bear cub.
“(Y/n) and I are going to get out of here. This crap apartment isn’t good enough for them and they're way too lax. I’m just taking care of them so don’t get your panties in a twist.”
For some reason that didn’t seem to soothe Tomura who stood to his feet with closed fists. Angrily shaking them as he visibly scowled at Dabi.
“Y-you stole my idea!”
“Your idea? Please in the real world, kid, it’s called being smart.”
“No it’s called being a scheming b-”
Your bedroom door swings open as you make your way into the kitchen. All it takes is a curious tilt of your head in Tomura’s direction that has him sitting back down and begrudgingly returning to his game. You simply shrugged passing by a smirking Dabi as you made your way to the kitchen.
“So boys what’s for dinner?”

KÖNIG; someone to come home to
wc: 5859 summary: könig found your cat and bridged the budding relationship between the two of you. warning/s: afab reader, nsfw 🔞 (please read at your own discretion, scars, könig is very shy and has social anxiety, alcohol/liquor
Tumblr media
"oh for the love of god why do you keep running away..!" you jogged around your neighborhood, eyes frantically scanning each bush and corner of the street just to find that spotted motherfucker with doe eyes and tiny paws that'd immediately make you forget all the rage you went through while finding her.
you love your cat, she's the light of your life, much more your child. but she has this habit of wandering off during autumn, playing with the fallen leaves in places that were surrounded by many trees. you've traversed the entire neighborhood and you were starting to panic when you couldn't find her. she usually comes back when the sun sets but it's almost past six and she's nowhere in sight.
until you heard a distant purr from that one park you haven't checked since it's mostly occupied by kids so it's unlikely. but you swiftly ran to the park, only to find your cat nestled in someone else's lap. a burly, towering man who cradled her very delicately. he brushed his scarred hands by the head and ears of your cat as she leaned further by his dainty pats.
he then noticed you right away, shot up from his seat like you scared him. you broke into a smile to ease the atmosphere, it kind of freaked you out that he noticed you even though you didn’t so much as make a movement or noise. the man had his face covered with a black cloth of some sort, the only visible features of his face were his vibrant, green eyes. he wore a black shirt that looked way too tight for a man his size, brown denim pants paired with black boots. he backed away slightly when you got closer.
"hey, uh, seems you caught her." your cat jumped off of the man's arms and ran to you, you bent down to catch her. "she's my cat."
the look of clarity was evident in him when he relaxed at your words. "thank god you caught her though, i thought i lost her for a moment." you laughed nervously, hugging your oblivious cat. "i'm name." you started, walking a little closer to him to reduce the tension.
you noticed how he kind of stiffened up but managed to return back your gesture. "k-könig." he responded, thick german accent coating his speech. "sorry for kinda taking your cat." he joked a little.
"oh, don't worry about it!" you laughed, "i think she felt safe with you. cats latch onto people that make them feel comfortable."
you heard a low laugh from beneath his mask, you gave him a look at his green eyes to try and recognize him. "are you...did you just move here?"
"not really, but i'm staying for a bit here. my house is just a block away from this park."
unbeknownst to you, it was taking könig everything to not fold right now. aside from being an extremely socially anxious person, he finds you so incredibly pretty. your demeanor, how you carry yourself towards him, how you smile at him, and most of all how you somehow put him at ease; it's as if it's the first time he really wanted to get to know someone and spend more time with someone even if you two just met. he rarely stays in his house here in austria so he never really knew anyone here, nor was he aware that someone like you lives around here. if he did, he'd actually make an effort to go out regularly.
"staying a bit in here? you travel a lot?" you raised a brow, simultaneously patting your cat's head.
"o-oh yeah, i don't stay in my place much." he laughed nervously, his body language changing. könig doesn't really want to tell anyone about his line of work, much less a woman he's interested in. it's surprising enough that you didn't get scared away by his mask, and most of all how he took your cat. he's afraid he might scare you off and immediately lose you. right off the bat, he wants to take you out for drinks; but his confidence is too low because he thinks  that it wouldn’t go further than that.
but nonetheless! it's been a long time since he felt this kind of rush. musing at you and smiling beneath his mask, his heart ran wild on his chest. your cat was one thing that drew him to you, but your smile and with how your beauty shone with the golden glint of the sky. he somehow managed to hold a conversation with you whilst observing how the colors in your eyes glistened in the sunset and how your hair danced with the breeze and kept it away from your face to give him a better look.
"hey, uh." he garnered all the sprouting confidence you gave him from laughing alongside him with dry jokes and boring stories. you pressed your lips together, muttering a "hm?" as your attention was fully directed at him. he sweated a little before saying, "do you maybe wanna... grab drinks or something? you can bring her if you want." he lightheartedly invited you, laughing a little at that last bit.
your heart thumped in your chest a little too fast; finding this man so cute despite the strange cloth that prevented you from knowing the face behind it and his overwhelmingly huge size. "i think i'm supposed to say that last bit, yeah? i'll bring her if YOU want, könig." you broke into a laugh, hearing his laughter too. "but, of course. i'd be happy to."
you see him perk up a little at your reply. behind that mask, you know that he's smiling from the curve of his eyes.
reaching the nearby pub, a dimly lit place that reeked of liquor and cigarettes. the place was decorated with vintage records, paintings, and trinkets. regulars were playing pool, teenagers were in the far back shoving their tongues down each others' throats, and the old, tired bartender wiping off some cups and bottles. you two sat by the high chairs, secluded in some corner not too far from the bartender.
he ordered a whiskey while you settled for a classic scotch. not too long, you two somehow hit it off for hours: playing with the cat, playing with pool and trash-talking some regulars, getting tipsy and touching each other quite more, playing some old arcade games and destroying each other, and saying things that you two might forget in the morning.
"i'm better at pool than you." he blurted out. "your aim is just hilariously cute." he walked behind you, keenly watching if you'll trip and fall from how you stumble while walking.
"it's the liquor, i'll crush you sober!" you tried talking with no slurring, but miserably failed and evoked a snort from him. he held his alcohol pretty decently, he moved quite wonkily but still managed to walk properly. you however, had too much to drink. what could you say? you could drink a little too much when you're with someone you enjoy!
"right, how do you plan on doing that?" he caught you when you almost tried reaching for your imaginary chair that looked way too vivid in your vision, he had a firm hand on your arm as you sat back down in your previous spot. "can you even get home at this rate?"
"shut up, you're so cocky for someone who won because you're bigger." you mumbled, laying your head down on the table.
"that doesn't make sense, name. accept defeat, yeah?" you grumbled as a response, hearing a chuckle from him.
his phone rang suddenly. könig stood behind you, an arm beside your frame as it rested on the high table before taking his eyes off you and answering his phone. "we've got a mission for you, könig. kortac will be deployed in a week from now, the details will be discussed in hq at the same time. copy?"
"roger."
his heart somewhat sank at the announcement. never had he felt hesitant nor felt his heart waver at an issuing of deployment. he always completed missions one after the other passively. he didn't have anything to miss or look forward to. but when he looked at you, wasted as you almost fell off your seat if it weren't for his arm supporting you from the side, he just felt like he couldn't leave you alone now... or maybe ever?
he gestured for the bartender to bring a pitcher of water. "alright, listen to me. you're gonna drink that until you can walk and think straight, got it?" he tapped at your back placing a glass of water in front of you. you whined, taking the glass from him begrudgingly. "you have a lot of trust for someone you just met, huh."
"why, soldier? gonna do somethin' bad to the citizen you serve for?" you blurted out, chugging the entire glass of water and burping afterward. you saw how his eyes widened and how his shoulders perked up a bit from shock. "yeah, that call earlier proved my suspicions."
"aren't you blacked out drunk?" he looked away, trying to avoid the topic.
"oh please, my head's heavy and i feel like shit. doesn't mean i'm deaf and dumb, big guy." you nudged his shoulder a little. "saw the tag shining when you bent down during pool, lotsa scars for someone ordinary, you rarely live at your house means you get deployed a lot, that sorry excuse for a subtle knife pouch in your pants, and that call earlier." you listed out taking another chug of an entire glass.
"nice catch, know a soldier?" he relaxed a little, watching how you skillfully stuffed all that water down the drain you call your body.
"dated one." you responded, eyeing him whilst drinking.
"so you have a type?" he sounded cheeky, sounding like his face was smugly staring at you. "that why you're all smiley ever since we met, huh?"
you broke into laughter, fanning yourself. thanking god that you can excuse your blushing from the inebriation. "you are acting smitten, soldier. maybe you have it the other way around? no fair your face is hidden though, couldn't see if i got you smiling or something."
"what do you think then, frau?" he leaned fairly close, your knees touching as his gaze traversed your entire face.
"i think my bladder's going to explode, i'll deal with your flirting later." you winked, walking past him to the bathroom. little did you know, you left the big guy giggling stupidly to himself.
you came back and he was patiently waiting for you. "i can walk properly now."
"right, i didn't want to get home all alone when you're all wasted." he stood up too, massively towering over you.
"tch, you're saying too much for a man with a mask." you snubbed, playfully stomping out of the pub.
you two walked home, still talking about useless things and other stories and passing jokes. he held your cat close to his chest while walking, the cat falling asleep in his big grasp. "where's your house again?"
"i can walk there fine, könig. it's okay. you must be tired too, mine’s just a few houses away." you dismissed, a tired smile on your lips.
"ah-ah, i insist. it'd be improper to leave a frau like you walking alone at midnight." he strolled beside you.
"but you're pretty far from here, right?" you looked up at him.
"doesn't matter, it's not far for me." he replied. "getting worried?"
"pft, no." you brushed off, despite the smile on your face. "just don't wanna be a suspect if you were gonna be found dead tomorrow."
after a short exchange of laughter, you reached your house. "well, this is it." you concluded. "i'll be taking MY cat back."
he laughed a little before handing the sleeping feline to you. "i had a really good time, könig. good night." you smiled, musing at the vibrance of his green eyes.
"me too," he waved farewell. "good night." he backed away before finally walking away to where his house was. walking home with a smile on his face, the subtle scent of your perfume on his shirt that was decorated generously with cat fur, and a viciously, fast beating heart. he hadn't felt this kind of high from someone.
the fact that you two may or may not see each other again stayed at the back of your minds. but you two slept it off with a smile, hoping this wasn't the end of it.
that's what you thought, but you hadn't seen him in days. you forgot to get his number and what's worse is you don't know where he lives! there's no way of reaching him now.
you figured that he maybe got deployed or something, maybe that phone call from the night you two were together was it. you sighed in your realization, plopping onto your bed in despair as you reminisce about your fun, little date. slowly accepting that you wouldn't see him again. that he is just another fling or another incident to make you happy temporarily and remind you why you can't settle down with anyone.
that is until your door almost broke down from the force of the knocking down the hall. you opened the door, only to find könig drenched in the rain.
"w-what the fuck?! don't you have an umbrella?! come inside, you idiot!" you panicked, moving over to let him in. the bastard was shivering in the cold so you fetched him a towel before letting him sit on your couch. your cat immediately settled on his lap.
"start talking, könig." you sighed, sitting on the coffee table before him.
suddenly, he pulled the shirt off his head to finally reveal his once covered face. you were about to hand him a glass of water only to accidentally drop it from his gesture. he caught it though, military reflexes.
"thoughts?" he broke into an awkward smile, drinking from the water he caught. he chuckled at the priceless reaction you have. "say something, frau. it's starting to get weird here."
his auburn curls were damp and sat atop his head in a disheveled manner, some of his curls framed the sides of his face down to his jaw. his pale complexion had faint freckles and  prominent scars all over his chiseled face and body where you could see his skin. he had relaxed eyebrows and somewhat sunken eyes, though his bright, green eyes made up for it. his lips were chapped and fairly pink as the natural tint in his cheeks. but what sets his entire face off from the ordinary was the big scar that went from his right temple down to his left jaw that went across his eyebrow, nose, and lips.
"i-if it's scaring you, i c-can cover it-"
"no..!" you impulsively hugged him by his neck, both of you surprised at your actions. "i-it's brave, thank you, könig. that must've taken a lot in you to do."
"just five days of tossing and turning and regretting that i didn't gave you my number." he sarcastically remarked, returning your hug by settling both of his hands across your back.
you laughed a little before pulling away. you then took off your shirt, only in your bra now. you see him pull away immediately, beet red on the face as he averted his gaze from your body. "what the hell are you doing, you idiot! i have something to show you too."
an embarrassed "oh" escaped his lips. he tried to compartmentalize those thoughts and focused on what you were going to say. that's when he noticed the huge scar spanning from your chest down to your abdomen. "it's also my biggest scar from being in the service, i was discharged after i got it."
his eyes widened, "y-you were in the service too?!"
"yeah, that's how i met the one i dated. and how i lost him too." you tried composing yourself and swallowed hardly. "all i'm saying is, we both have these. so... none of that, none of you, is scaring me, könig." you smiled softly, brushing your fingers by his arms that were also rich in scars.
"look i, uh, will be deployed in two days." he broke out, his deep green eyes frantically mirroring his overwhelming feelings. "i was thinking if we could, you know, if you'd want to go somewhere with me to make the most of my leave?"
you teared up from laughing, either from joy or endearment. "you didn't have to be so dramatic and run in the rain about it, though. but yes, let's do that."
a wide smile made its way to his face, the vast amount of scars contrasted the joy he had in his eyes and lips. a putty feeling made his chest tight as he sat face to face with you, your scars and his visible to each other. it's the first time he ever shared something like this with someone. once strangers a few days ago turned into something more because he decided to drag his ass to you and not let his thoughts get the best of him, and he was proud of himself because of that.
you lent him an umbrella and told him to meet up at the airport after packing his stuff. and you carried on with yours too, a sudden trip with him would be a rush you'd never thought you'd experience. you've thrown in some outfits, body essentials, undergarments, and the like to try and take your mind off of him and wipe that lovesick smile on your face. but failed of course.
soon after, you two met at the airport with your suitcases. you waved at him cheerfully, smiling as he got closer. "thought you were gonna stood me up." you joked, nudging him a little. "soldiers are always on time, right? what happened to you?"
"i got lost?"
"save it, let's get our tickets now." he took your suitcases as you made your way to the ticket counter for both of your tickets.you already booked tickets before you packed hours ago so it all went smoothly, soon enough you two made it to paris.
you two had spent an afternoon eating at artisan food markets for lunch, shopping at boutiques (mostly you), taking pictures in museums, and ending the day biking to your hotel. the day was cut short since you two arrived at lunchtime, but you two had planned a lot for the next day.
you two had a problem with the hotel though, "well, we booked a hotel on the same day so... we can't really complain about having only one bed."
"...i'd just sleep on the couch or something. whatever you're comfortable with." he insisted on the elevator, kind eyes looking at you beneath the mask.
"i had fun today, könig." you blurt out, not even thinking you did. your eyes were tired from the nonstop journey from flying to roaming about the lively streets of paris but it all reflected your words.
he stared at you for a while, a smile beneath his mask. he was about to say something when the elevator ding interrupted his thoughts that were already clouded with you.
you insisted on taking a shower first because, god, you felt disgusting and embarrassed sitting next to him while you were this smelly. once you got out, you notice how he doesn't wear the cloth on his head anymore as he waited for you and shimmied through the channels in a language he doesn't understand. he shortly followed after taking a bath, bumping his head by the shower multiple times; you giggled at the sound of his curses and the thumps he made.
the bed was king-sized, so it fits the two of you with enough room for personal space. it wouldn't bother you to sleep with him though as  you feel comfortable with him, knowing that you spent the entire day with him. him taking off the mask when it's only the two of you proved enough for him to trust you, so you could do the same.
könig on the other hand though, was a mess talking about it though. "a-are you sure?"
"100%, it's big enough for the two of us don't you think?" you plopped yourself down the bed, sinking in the sheets. "plus, you're not gonna fit that couch."
he complied awkwardly, not knowing how to position himself nor if he should touch you as he settled on that one spot on his side of the bed. you couldn't sleep while he was being uncomfortable so you sat up and tapped on his shoulder.
"is sleeping with me bothering you?"
he looked over his shoulder, a worried look on his face. "i might crush you or something, or i might touch you inappropriately, or i might-"
"hey." you placed a hand on his arm. "i already told you, könig. i agreed to this. i trust you, okay? you'll be fine." you gave him an assuring smile before telling him good night. you two slept soundly that night, tangled in each other's arms.
the next day, you two went to disneyland and spent the entire day there. going ride to ride, stuffing yourselves with character-themed foods, you and him competing in those booths that have prizes, betting on who will scream first during horror attractions, getting some souvenirs by the shops, and tiring yourselves out from the number of rides in this park. laughing alongside him while enjoying the fun of paris has brought you nothing but that fluttery feeling under your skin and that uncontrollable beat of your heart.
once sunset came, you two ended the day with a boat on one of the canals. an intimate ride where you two didn't notice your intertwined fingers. after buying some bottles of scotch and whiskey, you two made it back to the hotel for the night. he popped the bottles open, drinking from the bottle and sharing it with you.
"so, last day, huh?" you started, downing a sip. the tv in the background faintly dulling the silence.
"you gonna miss me?" he replied with a smile on his face as he winked at you, chewing on some chips you bought.
"hmm, maybe." you shrugged, reaching over for the chips. "it'd suck if we just left it here, though."
"left what here?" he raised a brow. "the mess?" he gestured at the untidy sight of your room.
"are you that dense, könig?" you huffed a frustrated sigh. the puzzled look on his face not faltering, still waiting for clarity from you. "jesus christ, men really are that fucking dumb, huh."
you placed the bottle down, leaned over to him and sat on his lap, placed a hand on his cheek while the other was at the back of his head, and collided lips with him. it went on for a while, you feel him suck in a breath from your actions, making you smile through it.
the kiss got deeper and you wrapped your arms around his neck, his massive hands settled on your waist to hold you as he returned your kiss. the taste of alcohol lulling you closer to him and drunkening the both of you even more.
you pulled away and touched foreheads with him. "so that's what you want, spatzi?" könig remarked, giving the corner of your lips a peck.
"how did that feel?"
"liberating." he replied, "do you maybe wanna..."
"go all the way?" you finished, "thought you'd never ask."
he chuckled before kissing you again, licking your lips, and exploring your mouth. he carried you effortlessly by your bum as he sat by the edge of the bed. only to be pushed down by you as he lied flat and watched you take your clothes off.
you rubbed your core on his clothed crotch, he sucked in a deep breath from the sensation whilst he returned  your kisses. not long after, he was in his boxers and you were only in your bra and underwear. after he discarded the last article of clothing on you and him, he roamed his hands across your body, especially the scar you showed him yesterday. he easily flipped you around and now, he was on top of you.
he leaned down and placed kisses on your chest where the scar began, the middle of your mounds, and down to your stomach where the scar ended. he went back to your face and placed kisses on your cheek then back on your lips, "you sure about this?"
you nodded as his final green light before he dipped down to your sopping crevice. he knelt down on the floor and pulled you closer to the edge of the bed by your thighs before he licked a long trail on your core. you hitched a breath, fisting the sheets as your legs trembled in his grasp. he had a fixed eye on you as he devoured your soaked core, he nibbled on your clit and sucked soundly on your folds while he played with the bundle of nerves on your mounds with his fingers. he took his time with you, he didn’t stop until your legs shook and stuttered as you reach your climax.
he soon came back to you, kissing you once more. your hand trailed down his toned torso, down to his firm length; you felt him shiver a bit at your touch as his lips stuttered on you. you smiled through the kiss and maneuvered him despite his size as you got on top of him.
you soon admired the beauty of this man, as he lay bare before you. you notice him becoming self-conscious  as you stared at him for a long time that you hadn't realized that you were doing it for too long. "hey, don't get shy with me now. you know why i like staring at you so much?"
"why?" he shyly answered, hands awkwardly placed on your hips.
"because i like you, i like looking at you. i'm savoring the fact that your mask is off, that you're able to trust me with this. it must've been hard for you but you still agreed with me, right?" you said with a smile, a hand on his cheek as he leaned on your touch.
you began peppering hickeys on his neck, across his chest and abdomen. kissing all of his scars across his chiseled body. until you reach his prodigious length, he grew shy as you wrapped your hands around it. you licked the tip, circling your tongue around it to get him going. until you gobbled him whole, a guttural moan escaping his lips as he threw his head back at the warmth of your mouth. simultaneously pumping his length whilst bobbing your head gave him the pleasure that penetrated every muscle in his body. beneath his abdomen, a ticklish feeling bubbling up that left his member twitching  in your throat. not long after, his sweet release shot ropes down your throat.
as he unsurely positioned himself on you, he took a while to gaze at you and the comparable size of his length. he placed both of his arms to support his weight by your sides, lowering himself down to give you a peck on the cheek. “tell me if it hurts.” he assured with a smile before wedging his thick length down you.
he pressed his forehead to yours as he slid in slowly, both of you hitching a breath at the first stretch of your tight cunt. the warm and teeming feel of how your walls tightly enveloped him as he slid further until the head of his length reached your cervix; you squealed at the sensation, he chuckled while tucking a hair in your ear. as he tried and started moving, trying to detect if he’s hurting you in any way while he’s balls deep in you. but the only thing he saw was how you shut your eyes tight and how carnal, melodious moans left your agape mouth. he took it as an opportunity to buck his hips back and forth, sliding his length to your entrance back to the end of where he first settled, his dog tag clinking by its chains in chorus with his filthy movements.
it was pure fucking bliss to you, it’s like you’re high on some sort of drug. the overwhelming length of him and how he was panting just as heavy as you are from the unparalleled sensation you two are in right now. you pulled him by his dog tag and he met your lips, swallowing all your moans as hips simultaneously tried finding the rhythm you two are comfortable in.
once you two pulled away, he gazed at how his length disappeared from your crevice from time to time then back at your face which was flushed red. he planted hickeys on your shoulder, playing with your mounds with his tongue, and left handprints on your rear.
lost in the same ecstasy; you kept grazing your nails across his back with each sinful thrust, biting on his neck with each moan of your name that left his mouth, and clawing at his chest with how good he fills you up. it almost felt like time wasn’t running and you two didn’t care how loud you two are nor how feral the creaking of the bed sounded.
soon after, you were now on top of him. you bounced on his lap slowly, it’s a rhythm you two got used to. his hands were settled on your waist while the other was on your rear, helping you keep up the motion. your hands were caressing one side of his cheek while the other rested on his chest to support yourself. you bent down where you can press foreheads with him once more as your hips moved up and down, gradually sliding up and down on his length in a manner that drove both of you crazy. you two exchanged breaths and moans at the turmoil of pleasure that lulled both of you to a drunken state of each other, no talking was needed as you both looked deeply into each other’s eyes with much fervor. beads of sweat started budding on the surface of your skin at your nonstop intercourse.
“you’re sweating, schatz.” he whispered, grinning afterward when he wiped the beads of sweat on your forehead with the back of his hand.
“you’re one to talk, you’re panting like an animal in heat.” you returned, hoisting yourself up as you steadily sat on his length. “want to take a break, colonel?” you cockily raised a brow, hands roaming on the span of his chest.
“you’re just pushing it now, huh.” he sat up too, getting a firm hold of your waist. “that’s lieutenant colonel to you, major.”
his swift moments almost made you stumble and fall if it weren’t for the large hands that supported you. “ready?” he whispered in your ear and before you could answer, he rammed into you so fast you couldn’t even so much as choke a word. your chest is on the verge of exploding from the unruly pace of his hips as he drilled deep in you. it went on for a while, crude moans that got your neighbors turning their heads and almost disturbing the both of you; it’s not like you’d stop for them though. you later ran out of breath and your body got limp from the overstimulation of his length.
you two just lay in the bed afterward. you were between his legs and he was behind you, rubbing your stomach gently while placing kisses on your neck. “didn’t know you were gonna give up that fast, name.”
you elbowed him as a response, “alright, i know i got too excited. not my fault you got too sexy. i had to do something, liebling.”
there was silence after a little laughter from the both of you, it then occurred to you his inevitable departure would not be too long from now. “hey, what time are you leaving?”
“they’d need me before the day ends.” he cleared his throat, a weighing feeling went back on his chest. “this is the first time i felt like i’d wanna bail on a mission.” he chuckled dryly, gazing at the peeking sun of dawn by the large windows of your hotel.
“we should probably get going now, don’t wanna miss our flight-” you planned on leaving his grasp to stand up and get ready, only to get pulled closer.
“we can stay for a little more.” he mumbled. “please, mein liebe.” he buried his face deeper at the crook of your neck, inhaling your scent more until he grew tired of it.
you smiled, complying with his request and staying like that for over half an hour. eventually, you two had to fly back to austria and make it to his headquarters there. it was an inevitable parting between the two of you. it’s not like this feeling is new to you, you knew very well what happens when dating a soldier. you became one and dated one. but this one was extra fucking sadder, you don’t know why but now that you saw what’s beneath that mask and mountain of clothes—you’d never want to let him go, you just had to protect him and give him all the love he deserves.
you two now parked before the building of his headquarters. after saying bye to your cat, he finally dreaded saying goodbye to you. “come on, könig. it’s not like we’ll never see each other again. you’re not about to let yourself get killed, hm?” you lightheartedly tried calming him down.
he didn’t say anything and hugged you, pulling you by your neck with one arm while the other held you close by the small of your waist. “i promise to come back, vögelchen. you keep yourself safe here, you got it?” he pulled away, a gentle hand on your cheek.
“you’ve got some nerve ordering someone who ranked higher than you.” you hit him on the chest playfully. “i’ll keep my promise if you keep yours.” you fished out something in your pocket, it was your old dog tag and handed it to him. “okay?” you searched for any affirmations in his green eyes.
he plucked out his own dog tag from his neck and gave it to you instead, he wore what you gave him. “copy.” amidst the cloth, you can see the tears in his eyes form and cascade down his face. you gave him one last tight hug, got under his mask, and gave him a long, deep kiss before sending him off. he waved goodbye one last time before disappearing into the building.
“so you found someone, huh?” horangi greeted him by the entrance.
“quit the snooping and let’s get to the conference room, i’d like to make this shit quick.”

hey! not having such a good day today so ... ya got some spare change (scar headcanons)?
I'm sorry you're not having a good day :( I have one headcanon for you - Scar loves to take care of his friends. When he sees a loved one in need, he will drop everything to provide help in any way he can.
Last year I started a fic challenge where I tried to write something every day for 30 days with prompts - I made it about 6 days and gave up. I don't believe I've posted the following snippet before: it's a rarity from me, something fluffy, but I hope it makes you feel better. (It's Scarian bc I'm me)

DAY 2 - REST.
Grian takes a moment to stomp the snow off his boots outside Scar’s door, brushing a few lingering flakes and crystals from his soaked sweater. He doesn’t even get a chance to knock, before the door swings open, the man himself standing on the other side looking suitably concerned as he fills up the door frame.
“Well hello th– Grian.” Scar’s expression goes from smug to concerned in a split second, when he gets a proper look at the state of his visitor. Wool sweater dripping, jeans soaked through and clinging. Grian can’t see his own face, but his cheeks sting and his bare hands are flushed a raw red with the cold.
“You got food?” Grian asks, as he starts to squeeze past Scar and into the warmth inside.
“You’re soaked,” Scar says, instead of answering, and Grian takes that as permission to begin rummaging through his storage for something edible. Something cooked, his brain supplies, desperate at the thought of anything hot touching his skin.
“I uh. There was powdered snow and I got caught, had to dig my way out of a bank,” he explains, to the best of his ability in that moment.
“You’re not even shivering, G.”
“I think I’m too cold,” Grian chuckles, ripping off a chunk of bread to shove it in his mouth. “Can I hang out for a bit while I heal up?”
It takes Scar maybe 3 seconds to spring into action before he’s grabbing Grian by the shoulders, steering him into the next room where Grian is hit with a blast of heat as he enters.
“Okay sit here by the furnace, get out of that sweater. Hey, I’ll get you some soup for that bread. You need a shirt? Of course you do, I’ll be right back.”
Grian just smiles as he watches Scar bluster out of the room on a mission, listening to him rattling through his containers and cabinets until he finds what he’s looking for. He re-enters the room grinning until he spots Grian unmoved from where he’d left him.
“I said get out of that sweater, c’mon G,” he sighs, sounding only vaguely disappointed, reaching for Grian and grabbing a fistful of soggy wool, tugging upwards. Grian coughs and laughs, wriggling his arms out of the sweater with difficulty, and with the contrasting heat of the furnace and the cold of his clothes, his teeth start to chatter.
“Okay at least you’re shivering now,” Scar says, and hands Grian a t-shirt as he throws the sweater to the ground with a wet slap. “When you stop shivering, that’s when you know it’s bad.”
“I’m fine, Scar.”
“Yeah, because I’m giving you dry clothes, silly. Put this on.”
Grian huffs out a soft laugh, sliding his arms into a t-shirt too large for him as Scar disappears into the other room again, and Grian takes a moment to drag over a chair and hang his clothes in front of the furnace to dry. It’s unfortunate that Scar returns when he’s struggling his way out of damp, clingy jeans, balanced carefully on one foot. Something about the sight he is greeted with stops Scar in his tracks.
“Oh I totally didn’t think about pants,” Scar says softly, a steaming bowl cradled in his hands, and Grian can smell mushroom soup, his stomach suddenly grumbling loudly.
“It’s fine, look,” Grian says, straightening up. The t-shirt falls to his thighs, providing some modesty, not that Scar hasn’t seen all this before. There’s a flicker of recognition in Scar’s expression, maybe something reverent, and he gingerly extends the bowl out to Grian, who takes it from him gratefully.
“You’re short,” Scar says, a note of affection in his voice, and Grian huffs as he sips his soup, rolling his eyes.
“Yes, Scar.”
“Would you believe me if I said I was so concerned for your well-being that it did not occur to me… how cute you would look in my shirt?”
“Play dumb all you want, Scar. I know better,” Grian says, hiding his smile behind his bowl, and Scar leans into the doorframe, smiling, watching appreciatively.
“I like that you came to me. I’m pretty sure you have food at your place. You certainly have clothes,” he says after a moment. “You chose me.”
“Okay,” Grian says, suppressing the urge to roll his eyes again, and Scar grins, sharp teeth glinting in the light of the furnace.
“You like me.”
Grian finishes the last of the soup in one messy gulp, pressing the bowl into Scar’s chest after. He scoffs, ignoring Scar’s lovely-smug-terrible face.
“Don’t let it go to your head,” he says.

The party sounded loudly around you, another win for the Slytherin Quidditch team being the cause of it. Despite Harry’s strong efforts to catch the golden snitch, Draco had beaten him to it and didn’t fail to gloat about it all the way back to the castle.
Theo complained about the loud noise as soon as the music started, making a mental note to tell Draco to keep his ego down the next time he saw him. But you convinced him to ignore his friend’s stupidity, and enjoy the party. It wasn’t long before you were a bit past tipsy, and he was trying to get you away from the crowd before you did something stupid.
You managed to trip up the steps, but you giggled and carried on making your way to your dorm. Theo rolled his eyes and sighed, closing the door behind him in an attempt to block out at least some of the noise.
“Theo!” you practically yelled, forgetting that he was following you. “Hi, Theo!” you threw your arms around him, him catching you before you fell. “Hello, darling. I hate to break it to you, but I’ve been here the whole time.” he laughed.
“No, you haven’t. You weren’t there, and then I turned around, and boom! You were there.” you laughed, backing away from him, and falling onto the bed when your knees hit it. He shook his head, smiling at his feet. “Alright, you caught me. I teleported.” your eyes widened and he laughed. “I knew it!”
He walked over to the dresser, and you watched as he opened one of the drawers to find a change of clothes for you. “You want this one?” he asked, pulling out a pair of shorts. You nodded frantically, chewing on your fingernails. “Okay, how about this shirt?”
“Nuh uh.”
“Okay, how about this one?”
You shook your head, and he sighed. “Alright, which one do you want?”
You giggled and pointed to him. “My sweater? You’ll be too hot.”
“But it’s pretty. I want that one, ” you said, doing your best to stand off the bed. He sighed, holding in a laugh as fell back over onto the bed. “Please, ” you whined.
“Fine. But only because you’re my best friend and I don’t want to fight with you.”
You smiled giddily, thanking him loudly. “Yeah, yeah, ” he responded. You watched as he pulled the hoodie off him, throwing it at you before fixing his shirt.
You tried your best to pull off your own shirt but gave up as your arm somehow got stuck. “Help, please?” you asked. Theo smiled, helping you pull the shirt off, and helping you put the hoodie on. “Smells like you,” you said.
“Well, I’d imagine so, considering I took it off to give it to you, and it’s mine,” he said teasingly, helping you put the shorts he picked out on.
Soft moments like this weren’t rare between you, and you found yourself hoping they lasted longer. You knew him like the back of your hand. From the way he talked, to the route he took to each class, to the little scar on his hand from when he and Draco got into a fight in the first year. And for everything you knew about him, he knew a thing about you.
“Is that better, peanut?” Theo asked. You nodded, moving to get under the blankets. “Here.” he lifted the blanket, letting you lay under them, before throwing them over you. “Is that good?” you nodded.
There was a certain level of trust between you both, and it was one you wished would never go away. It was calming, a sense of relief washed over you at the realization that he trusted you just as much as you trusted him. A thought resurfacing, threatening to escape your lips, but you were just aware enough to catch it before it did.
“Stay with me, please?” you asked as he got up. He turned, eyeing you for a moment, before nodding. “Okay, ” he replied, laying next to you and pulling the covers over himself. “Comfy?” he asked. You moved closer to him, laying your head on his chest, leg thrown over his. He instinctively wrapped his arms around you, drawing you closer. “Now I am.”
He gave a low laugh. “I really worry about you, you know?”
“And why is that?”
“You’re always doing things that could get you in trouble, or that could get you hurt. How much did you drink tonight?”
“I wasn’t keeping track, who does that? Not me, is who!”
He laughed again, pulling you closer, holding onto the feeling of you in his arms. “I know.”
“You seem to really care about me. I can’t blame you, I’m awesome.”
“That I do, and that you are. Pretty little minx, aren’t you?” he began to tickle you, you jumped, trying to squirm away as you laughed. “Mercy! Have mercy!” you yelled. He sighed and stopped, pulling you back into his arms.
There were few beats of silence before, “I love you, ” you blurted out. “In case you haven’t figured it out already, I love you.”
He tensed for a moment, but relaxed again. He pulled away slightly, you tilting your head up to see him better. “Really? Cause last time I checked, I was the one in love with you.”
Your smile only got brighter, hiding your face in his chest. “I have been for a while, ” you said. “Yeah?” he asked.
You hummed in agreement. “I love you, Theo.”
He chuckled. “I love you too.”
