mmm i don't really like angsty endings. i guess Little Lamb has the most general angst but tbh that's not even gonna be a sad ending once its done - its gone have a lot of hope. maybe just high masking but again the connected part is comfort heavy

everything :) happy endings only in this house! 🍓 is maybe the most good vibes all the way thru piece

i'm working on a openly bi steve / queer eddie fic and it needs a lot of editing and keeps growing and it could honestly never get done but i really hope i work it out one day (i wanna incorporate music into the like theme of the scenes somehow but i dunno if i'm capable enough for it to be good - plus rewriting is hard bc what's there is good its just not right for this)

i like to think i can write my rancid sewer goblin dream boy eddie munson pov well

and maybe dialogue, or like metaphors?? i also have a thing about rhythm when i write so hopefully that come through, like pace and flow of sentences or whatever.

i have like pictures in my head and i never know how much to describe, like do i go full setting and facial expressions but then that feels like too much so idk. but ye that - the stuff around the dialogue

2. when was the last time you cried? Uhhhh... Like... a couple therapy sessions ago? I have a really good therapist, so we're working on a lot of shit, but unfortunately that means I cry somewhat frequently ><

3. do you have kids? Nope! Not really my scene, but more power to those who do.

4. what sports do you play/have you played? I did basketball on and off in elementary school, and my high school tried to get me to join the basketball team there too, but uhhh I wanted to do theatre more and I only had time to do one or the other. Not a "sport" but I'm gonna be taking an aerial silks class soon!

5. do you use sarcasm? Never. (yes)

6. what’s the first thing you notice about people? I don't. (I dunno? Height? I'll be honest and say I'm not the most observant about other people lol)

8. scary movies or happy endings? That's a weird dichotomy to present XDDD I guess happy endings if we're talking movies, because I prefer horror in games, writing, comics, and audio mediums slightly more than movies.

9. any talents? Writing and acting spring to mind as two that are both "I've always been fairly talented in this" and "I have worked a lot to hone this skill."

Eddie let out an exasperated huff, dropping his pencil onto the papers sprawled in front of him. He pressed the palms of his hands against his eyes.

“If I study any longer, I think I’m actually gonna die.”

You toss your head back in a short laugh.

“Oh, c’mon! One more page and then we can go smoke.” You poke his side with your elbow, eliciting a groan out of him. You lean over his shoulder to glance at the page, being met with illegible writing and random doodles along the bottom of the page. You sigh out in a soft hum, plucking the page from in front of him as your eyes skimmed over the problems.

“Okay, it’s just Shakespeare, Eds. Did you read over the syllabus? Or… any of the notes I wrote you?”

He seemingly ignored your question, posing his own.

“Why do they talk like that? Like, who the fresh fuck talks like that?”

You giggle and shrug. “I dunno, old English idiots, I guess?” You glanced back to the page.

“Okay, so, she’s asking for an analysis on Macbeth. Specifically, what the main themes of the play are. Did you read it?” Eddie nodded through a yawn. “So,” you drawled, “what are some of the main themes?”

Silence.

“Eddie.” Annoyance rang in your voice.

“I don’t know!” He matched your frustration, leaning back on the bed with a huff.

“Am I going to have to do all of your work myself?”

“Probably.”

“Would smoking make you at least a little more open to working with me on this?”

He sat up immediately, drawing a small giggle out of you.

The two of you sat cross legged on his bed, passing a joint back and forth.

“Name me at least one main theme from Macbeth.” You spoke suddenly. Eddie rolled his eyes deeply. “C’mon, Eds! This is part of your passing grade to graduate.”

He took a harsh drag and passed it back to you. “Fucking, uhhh-“ He mumbled as he reached around in his head for an answer.

“Loyalty..” He started. You nodded with a reassuring ‘mhm’. “What else?” He shook his head with a sigh.

“I’m not answering them for you, Eddie. You have to know this stuff if you wanna pass English Lit.”

“Loyalty, guilt, innocence?”

You clapped your hands together with a squeal.

“Holy shit! Yes!” You cheered. His cheeks flushed pink as he beamed at you.

“What’s the fourth one?” You encouraged.

He fell silent, eyebrows furrowed as if lost in thought.

You chewed on the inside of your cheek.

“You know what? You got the first three. That’s good enough for now.”

“Does that mean we can stop for the day?”

“Yes, that means we can stop the for the day.” You replied with a wry laugh.

“So, now what should we do?” Eddie asked as you tidied the slew of papers, pencils and highlighters off of the bed. You shrugged.

“We could go to Benny’s for dinner?”

“Bold of you to assume I have money.”

“Aren’t you literally a drug dealer?”

He stayed silent for a moment.

“…You spend your drug money on more drugs, don’t you?”

“Hey, now, not any drugs! Specifically that Purple Punch you’ve been enjoying and getting knocked on your ass with!” You laughed brightly.

“Alright, so, not Benny’s. We could just watch a movie like usual?”

“Or we could go hang out and smoke at Skull Rock?”

You blinked up at him, bewildered.

“Skull Rock? Really?”

“What? It’s a nice spot!”

“Yeah, where everyone from school goes to jump each other’s bones!” He chuckled.

“Okayy, not Skull Rock.”

You two sat in a blanket of silence as you pondered for ideas of what to do.

Eventually, you rolled over onto your stomach, looking up at Eddie from the edge of the bed.

“What’s Hellfire’s current campaign about?”

He appeared taken aback.

“You’re… interested in my campaign?” He questioned, eyebrows furrowed as he looked down at you. You nodded and beamed up at him. “Dustin never really tells me any of the details, usually just cusses you out for,” You hold up your fingers in quotation marks, “‘Being too stern of a DM’?” He grinned and laughed.

As Eddie went on to tell you the full plan of his current campaign, you felt your chest heave. A bright, toothy smile overtook his features as he gestured widely with his hands, giving you nearly every detail you needed to know. He was so genuinely passionate about his campaigns, that much you could tell. And, from what your brother had told you, he was an incredible DM. You couldn’t help but return his same goofy smile as butterflies pranced around in your belly, no matter how hard you tried to ignore them. Obviously, having feelings for your childhood best friend was, in no way, your plan. You had never felt like this toward Eddie. You decided, regretfully, Steve and Robin were right. You did like Eddie. A lot, at that.

As he finished his spiel about his campaign, he looked at you almost expecting to laugh in his face. Instead, you continued to beam up at him. “That’s really fucking cool, Eds.” You spoke softly. You could’ve sworn you saw his cheeks flush. “Y’know…” You started, “After Freshman year, I really didn’t know if we would ever reconnect. And it sucked, a lot.

I missed this.” I missed you.

“I missed this a lot, Eddie.” His face softened and this time, unmistakably blushed, and he nodded. “I missed this a lot, too.” He returned your soft tone. Your heart rattled in your throat as the two of you stared at each other. It was your turn to blush, breaking the eye contact and dragging your fingers through your hair. You cleared your throat and sat up on the bed. You went to speak, but not before he sheepishly cut you off.

“Uh, listen… I, uh, I hope I’m not… severely misreading this and I’m fucking praying to something I don’t fuck this up, but, uh…” He scratched the back of his neck and ran his fingers through his hair. “I think…I think I like you. Like - a fucking lot.”

There it was.

Your lips parted, and you could feel your heart beat in your throat.

You liked your childhood best friend, and, by the grace of whatever, he did, too.

He must’ve taken your awestruck expression and silence as rejection as he cleared his throat. “Uh… shit. Uh, forget I said anything.” He played it off with a sad laugh as he went to stand. You grabbed his wrist instinctively and stared up at him. He looked at you quizzically.

“You mean it?” Your voice barely reached above a whisper. He nodded shyly. You wrapped your hand around his and closed the space between the two of you, connecting your lips softly. You trailed your fingers into his hair, pulling him impossibly close as you settled in his lap, like he would slip through your fingers any second. You two pulled away from each other just enough for your foreheads to rest against each other’s. You gazed deeply into his eyes and struggled to bite back a smile.

“I like you, too, Eddie. A fucking lot.” You rested your hands on his thighs.

“So, does this mean if I asked you on a date to the drive-in on Saturday?…” He trailed off, and you smiled brightly.

“Absolutely.”

And that was that. The beginning of a relationship that would surely ruin every other relationship you could ever be in for the rest of your life. Though, you hated to think you two would ever part, and so did he.

“Son of a bitch!” Robin cussed as she reluctantly thrust a $20 bill into Steve’s hand. You rolled your eyes at the pair.

“At least now we don’t have to stand here and gag over their unrequited loving stares.” Steve pointed.

“No, you’re right. Now we get to stand here and gag over them being all over each other at every second of every day.” Robin retorted. You huffed. “Okay, guys, we aren’t that bad.”

They both shot you a glance suggesting otherwise.

“We’re not!” You defended in a small shriek.

“You are.”

“So are.”

You groaned.

“Please, I’ve had to deal with years of Steve pining over Tammy, then Nancy, then Heidi, Stacy-… Do I need to keep going?”

“Don’t forget Robin and Vickie.”

“Oh my god, absolutely.” Robin flipped you both the bird.

“The point is, I’ve dealt with both of your romantic bullshit and unrequited love stories for the past 2 years. You can deal with mine.”

Steve shot you a wry smile.

“We never said we weren’t happy for you, Henderson.”

“You’re just a very… unusual couple.” Robin chimed in.

Your eyebrows furrowed.

“I mean, how much do you two really have in common?” Steve suggested.

You stared at him blankly.

“Seriously?” You queried.

He nodded.

“I was the one who got him into Lord of the Rings! I was the one who brought him comic books and read them to him. I was the one who introduced him to Ozzy when we were in middle school!” You rolled your eyes.

“It’s almost like you two don’t know a thing about me!” You teased.

“Yeah, yeah, we get it. You were the first nerd in your family, even though Dustin likes to take the credit-“

“HE LOVES TO TAKE THE CREDIT!” You huffed.

You three straightened up as you heard the bell ring, signaling someone had waltzed in. Your eyes landed on, of course, your new doting boyfriend. You broke out into a bright smile and hopped over the counter, rushing over to him. He returned your smile and held up a bag and a cup. “Lunch break?” He greeted. You looked at the clock, and then back to your friends, who were grinning at the two of you. Steve nodded. “Go ahead, we’ll try not to burn the place down while you’re gone.”

You shot him a toothy grin and leaned on your tippy toes, planting a small kiss on Eddie’s cheek. “Let me grab my bag and clock out.” You grabbed your things and punched out at nearly record speed, practically skipping out the front of the store.

Steve and Robin looked at each other and chuckled.

“They’re actually kind of cute, you gotta admit.” Robin shrugged.

“…Yeah. Yeah, they really are.”

Currently watching: Uhhh YouTube playthroughs of indie horror games mostly which totally counts :D

Other stuff I watched this year: I did rewatch OTGW and part of Danny Phantom this year. And uhhhh... I dunno what else. I don't watch TV or movies very often.

Shows I dropped this year: I got half an episode into Lucifer. I don't know that that counts as dropping instead of like, halfway picking it up and immediately putting it down, but yeah lmao. I'll go back to it... eventually. Probably.

Currently reading: A lot of fanfic. Also like six different books that I keep bouncing between. I think the last one I sat down to read was Good Omens though.

Currently listening to: One More Time - Blink 182

Currently working on: SO many fics. So many. The biggest one is an angst bingo fic where I'm trying to get bingo on the entire board and the outline is currently roughly 4k words long, plus around 3k of writing mixed through it.

I’ll go first:

Took a grand total of 6 tennis lessons. Looking back, I’m surprised to realize that my coach did pretty well with teaching fundamentals, like volleying and using your off hand to point at the ball to help your timing.

I started tennis because all my friends in high school were trying out for the tennis team, not because we had an abiding love for the sport but because we, as tiny 5′3″ Asian girls with zero athletic ability (MY FATHER WAS IN THE NAVY BUT COULD NOT SWIM, ALRIGHT?), collectively thought “I need a sport to add to my college application to make me look well rounded. Hmmm, too short for basketball or volleyball, and there’s no way in hell my asthmatic ass is running around on a track or a soccer field. I know--tennis!”

I played on my high school girls junior team. I was ranked #14 out of 16 girls on the team, so I baaaaarely made the cut at tryouts, haha.

I’m a lefty! One-handed backhand, because that’s how I was taught. Decent serve in the sense that I could choose to serve wide or go up the T, but I didn’t even know that there were such things as kick serve or flat serve. I thought serving meant “hit the ball as hard as you can and pray it goes in.”

All slice all the time, baby! Especially on the backhand. I can do the crazy backspin dropshot thing, but that’s the only move I’ve got.

Uhhh, everything else? No movement, no footwork, slow as heck.

I once aced one of the boys from the boys tennis team during an inter-team practice.

I’m a Wilson girl. I dunno which racket I had, but it was an oversized 110 sq inch monster because I thought “I’m gonna need as much help as I can get just to put my racket on the ball, so let me just pick the biggest racket in the store.”

I’m thinking about playing again sometime, but I’ll need to go buy a new racket. The last time I played was 15+ years ago. Maybe I should teach my kids tennis!

i once won a pig calling contest when i was like 5 or 6 years old. this is my one crowning achievement and (un?)fortunately somehow the thing people know me for in town. so, uhhh, call me if you need to find your pigs, i guess?

i saw a ufo once and in a separate event experienced something that some people might call “supernatural”. i’m certain there’s a logical explanation for both that don’t involve aliens or ghosts, but i’ve never seen or heard anything like them since.

i’m not sure i have any more interesting facts lmao so have a boring one: i’m terrible at whistling. i’m a one note wonder, and even then the stars have to be aligned just so hahaha

——— EXPERIENCE! ♡

mannnnn. i guess i’ve been roleplaying on various websites since i was maybe 9 or 10? it started on neopets, then expanded to 4kids forums, proboards, email, deviantart, and eventually here on tumblr. my first muse here was molly hooper from bbc sherlock, then i wrote the tenth doctor from doctor who for aaaages, several animated muses, a single edwardian era oc, a stupid number of vintage film/tv characters, a few characters from the mentalist, and now i seem to have entered my “robert sheehan era” in which i mostly write (yuh) robert sheehan characters pft. my condolences and endless gratitude to the mutuals who have followed me from blog to blog no matter what my heart decides to obsess over. y’all are the real mvps.

——— MUSE PREFERENCE! ♡

i dunno if i have a muse type, but i do really love the misunderstood or tragic muses. i’m a sucker for angst, but i also just really love “rescuing” them. give me the pain, but also let me help them find their place in the world, y’know? and even if i can’t save them or give them a better life, writing them is still cathartic. the more damaged they are, the more solace i find in them. there’s just something about writing a traumatized character and seeing them through to the end that feels really empowering and encouraging regardless of whether or not that end is positive. i prefer it to be, but... yeah, it’s definitely the journey itself that i find the most comforting.

——— FLUFF / ANGST / SMUT! ♡

FLUFF : i loooooove fluff. sometimes i can get a wee bit bored of it if it’s fluff without real emotional substance, or character development, but i do love it. sometimes you just want that tooth rotting sugary goodness.

ANGST : like i said, i love tragic characters, and angst is a very easy, good way to develop any muse. i think this is probably my favorite rp genre, provided that the characters involved get some small chance at comfort, too.

SMUT : i'll admit that i have grown to really love writing smut with the right partner lol. i don’t think i’m very good at it, and i’ll really only write it on discord, but for muses that are very sexual or who have a lot tied to sex or sexuality like nathan, it can be a good way to develop character. and that’s really what i’m after when i write smut; the emotion, or what could be learned about them or that relationship through sex. it’s pretty rare when i wanna write smut for the sake of writing smut... and usually only with partners i’ve been writing with for a very long time.

PLOT / MEMES : i suck at plotting. i don’t mind brainstorming, but i’m just as happy flying by the seat of my pants. throw stuff at me, man. memes are the way to go.

heyy sorry dunno if ur ok with ppl asking for advice, but ive been on the twitter mgs fandom for a little while (mostly as a watcher rather than participating other than liking, rting and occasionally commenting or posting some art) and after a while i realized (a bit too late) that quite a few people that i interacted with are aggressively anti and i dont know how to pull away from them now.

Some were mutuals, i stopped following most of them but they still follow me and im not sure if i should just ignore it or whatever. My main account is very clean when it comes to pro/anti discussion and NSFW in general, altho i do like/rt/discuss a lot of anime art and media that has some questionable content in it (like the monogatari series for example)

Anyway, im just a bit scared they might see these "cracks" and it gets to a point of agression/exclusion/doxxing etc and im a bit terrified of that. Sorry if this sounds dumb, but could i ask you what you experience with the mgs fandom is like on twitter? Have you ever been in a similar situation?

It's totally cool to ask for advice! I'm not sure how much help I'll be though.

I have a twitter that's mostly MGS-focused, but I've been building up defenses against the anti movement for a long time before that. I used to be mutuals with someone who was a really notorious asshole twitter anti, actually. I broke that when they started publicly slandering me, but before they could actually dox me, and they still followed me on side accounts for a couple years after that. I got very careful about vetting who I regularly interact with after that.

I got lucky dropping into MGS fandom, I've found a bunch of people who enjoy freaky stuff as much as I do. But I also had one of those friends get doxxed a while back over ship discourse that was spun as something much worse.

Personally, if I see a callout post and it looks fishy (only includes accusations of fic or art, etc), I will a lot of times block everyone that's retweeted or liked it. It's made me sad a couple of times to break mutuals, but I know I'm saving myself the pain later of potentially seeing them fall for it with me. This, when my friend got doxxed, ended up causing me to block like half of the twitter MGS fandom ngl.

Honestly, my secret to not accidentally making full on anti friends is that when I get into a new fandom, I look up their discourse and who antis say shouldn't be shipped together. Then I look and see who makes art/fic of those ships. If I don't like those ships specifically, I find people who ship both that and whatever I like. Usually I end up liking one or more of them anyways (solimiller...). Or I'll go through that fandom's fics with warnings on them and check out those authors' other works.

That's how I keep accidentally meeting a lot of people in fandom, it turns out. I read a fic, I look at the author's other works or their profile, it has a social media handle, or a discord link, or whatever else, next thing I know I'm talking to them and 5 more people they recommended about whatever freaky kink I found of theirs.

I do actually have a (mostly nsfw) discord link that I would share here, but given some of the weird interactions I've gotten tonight I'm gonna wait a couple days before I post it publicly. It's fandom neutral technically but a lot of us like our war boys (mgs/cod mostly). But uhhh if anybody sees this and wants in feel free to dm me/send an off-anon ask and I'll slip ya a link real quiet.

I warn people some of the heavier content that I regularly post as well, even though I don't explicitly use any discourse labels, but honestly the biggest thing is just pulling your interactions like weeds. People on the internet are, mostly, strangers. You don't like someone's vibes? You can block 'em. You see them being a dick to someone else and don't wanna risk them doing the same to you ? Definitely block. Someone makes posts you don't like and it keeps filling up the tags you frequent? You can block that!
