Mal/Evie/Uma + spellbook

HEADCANON: Mal, Evie, and Uma have their individual spellbooks, of course, but one of the ways they bond and build trust in their relationship is to work on a communal spellbook.

Evie was the one to bind the book and cure the leather to make its cover, which Mal then painted and passed to Uma for its final accents of shells and gemstones and beautiful ribbons—something to represent them all.

Inside, the book shows just as much of a group effort. Evie and Uma plan each page out meticulously, with Evie the one who usually pencils in a draft of their vision and stains the pages with tea or other dyes before Uma sets the words in various coloured inks.

Uma’s calligraphy is gorgeous. She’s incredibly creative with it, and her hand is remarkably steady. Mal tends to play off her designs and the colours of the ink when she goes in to draw the borders, illustrate their spell ingredients, and just generally doodle as it pleases her.

When not in use, the book is kept in a locked and warded chest beneath the girls’ bed. Late at night, when they whisper about their future, they sometimes entertain the idea of passing the book down to a daughter they don’t yet have.

The Real Triangle

You know, everyone’s complaining about how a love triangle subplot is dumb, but I beg to differ.

Okay. Consider this: UMA / MAL / EVIE triangle subplot.

BAM. Descendants 2 fixed forever, you’re welcome.

In all seriousness though, from the trailers, a subplot like that would be ohhh soo good, Uma tempting Mal into the dark side, Evie trying to keep Mal on the side of good but still eyeing the badass sharp-tongued pirate witch. Palpable rivalry between Evie & Uma as they fight about Mal’s allegiences. Mal’s rivalry with Uma and sweet intimacy with Evie.

(Hey I’m not saying it should turn polyam, I’m just saying how sweet would that be.)

I’m not really that much into poly relationships tbh (no offense to anyone. If you are into them you do you sweetie, you’re doing amazing) but I do see where people are coming from with Balvie. I love the concept of Umal as exes but I wouldn’t like them together in present time tbh, not only because I ship Malvie but because I don’t see the romantic connection that I guess was there before. About Umalvie, I’d love them to become like a Holy Trinity™ (as friends ofc) cause I believe that Uma deserves a second chance. This turned out longer than expected but yeah.I hope that I didn’t offend/insult anyone but if I did I truly am sorry and please let me know so I can take this post down.
