Magnolia Academy Crest

I finally figured out how to make a crest for the Magnolia Academy in the same style as the Umbrella and Sparrow ones! Far from perfect but I’m pretty proud.

Here’s what each symbol means:

Magnolia Branch: The Academy name

Knot: Family loyalty

Apple: Generosity, happiness, peace and salvation

Bear: Healing, personal health, strength, and bravery. Also a nod to Grace’s “mama bear” attitude toward her kids

The motto, "florere quocumque tempore," means "bloom at any time"

Up next we have the best friend duo Yenigun known as the "Goddess of Reality" and Yishi dubbed as the "Goddess of Fate"

And now we have the couple who balance both Time and Space themselves, Horacio aka "The Time Lord" and Selene the "Goddess of the Moon"

And finally we have the Ruler of the Gods, the World, and Humanity herself-

Elise is regarded as "Mother Earth"

five x reader - connection

(a/n: this is a big jumble of thoughts and a vague plot without a proofread. sorry in advance)

The first time she befriended Five, he was terrified. He had been traveling around for so long he had forgotten how to grow roots. He wanted the ability to stay with her and never let go. He really did. He wanted to be beside her forever, and stay in one place til she was ready to move with him. She was the last human connection he had, and he’d be damned to ever let that go. Even though their personalities fell in direct conflict, he didn’t care. They fit together, and that was enough for them.

His feet were stronger than his heart ever was. She didn’t understand why he had to leave, but she left with him anyways.

She had watched him come home every night after a day of work at the commission. She watched her best friend come home every night, covered with more and more blood every time. She let him cry on her shoulder, every night.

She told him to quit thousands of times. He hated it, and as much as she urged him to leave and run away with her, he insisted that he wanted to keep the world safe. He really just wanted to keep her safe, but he would never tell her that.

When they recruited her, he still tried his best to stay with her. They worked as a duo - she tracked down persons of interest, memorized their schedule and locations, and made a plan, which he would then carry out. She was the only one he would listen to. They were the most efficient pair in the business.

They both hated it. They hated being the catalyst in the death of real people.

Eventually, they left. They ran the equations, hoping they were right.

They weren’t. Upon looking at Five, she asked,

“Why are you so small?”

“I could ask you the same thing.”

Underneath his layer of sarcasm, he really did think she looked cute like that. She wore a soft looking sweater and a checkered shirt, and didn’t seem to have hit many growth spurts yet. Her hair was messy and shorter than it was when they had met. There weren’t many hairdressers in the apocalypse.

She was shaken. While his family asked them questions upon questions, he seemed to be the only one that noticed the shake in her hands and the quiver in her voice.

He took her to his room. He didn’t want to make it weird between them, but she clearly needed comfort. She changed into a set of his pajamas and tried to rest.

He came in a few hours later to find her curled up on his bed. Out of near guilt, he tucked her in to the sheets and worked silently in an attempt to find a way out of their predicament.

As her eyes slowly fluttered open, she found him looking at her with a gentle look in his eyes - one that she had hardly ever seen before.

“I guess working was harder than I thought it would be,” he spoke, more to himself than to her. Sitting up, she replied,

“You need some rest too. Come lie down.”

This wasn’t a question, more of a command, which he hesitantly followed.

He didn’t remember falling asleep until he woke up. Their legs were tangled, her fingers carded through his hair, his head on her shoulder.

It felt right.

Summary || When little Noa Lavigne eventually finds her way to the Umbrella Academy, she's tired and cold and really quite hungry. The sky is weeping on this very special day, exactly six years since her horrendously inexplicable birth — not that she knows much about dates or magical circumstances. Life changes after that, both slowly and quickly, but discovering there are others like her in such a lonely world at least gives her something to hold onto.

They call each other 'brother' and 'sister'. She's not allowed to use those words. Only their numbers and perhaps their names in secret.

They call the sweet, soft looking woman 'Mom'. She can't use that word either. That woman is Miss Grace, just like how the gentlemanly chimp is Mister Pogo.

And perhaps more than anything, she is not allowed to use the word 'Dad' for the severe, monocle wearing man that begrudgingly accepted her amidst his children. He is Sir Reginald to her and nothing else.

But there are minutes. Between training, between chores, between the forced isolation, there are minutes of rebellion and kindness and donuts. At some point, she becomes a little bit more than the extra child that stumbled into their lives on a rainy day.

So here’s your chance to ramble about your ocs, the plot, whatever you want!! (And maybe give me a little synopsis lol)

Long post ahead, so I'll put it under a cut!

Okay, so, first I'll explain the differences between the Magnolia Academy and the Umbrella and Sparrow Academies

The Umbrella and Sparrow Academies both had Reginald being a Terrible Father:tm: that forced the kids into it and essentially treated them like child soldiers/experiments

Meanwhile, the Magnolia Academy have the human version of Grace Hargreeves we saw in season 2 as a mom, who adopted as many kids as she could to keep Reginald from getting them (also one of them is her biological daughter). Becoming superheroes was actually the kids' idea. When they assured her that, yes, this is what they want to do, they know what they're getting into and still want to, she supported them and got them the best training she could. She was already teaching them how to control their powers

(Poppy didn't want to be a part of the superhero aspect so she stayed with her mom in the lab)

The kids weren't experiments. They weren't child soldiers. They weren't numbers. They were still kids that got to have a childhood but also wanted to save the world. Grace made the Magnolia Academy not to control the kids, but to support them in their endeavors

Later on, for example, when Fauna left the Magnolia Academy to become a veterinarian, Grace as well as her siblings fully supported her. Same with when Vanessa wanted to become a lawyer, and Bridget wanted to become a nurse. Meanwhile, Casey, Vincent, Elizabeth, and Sonya, kept doing the whole superhero thing, and Poppy went on to work in the scientific field with her mother

Because of this support system, the family dynamic is a lot closer and, for lack of a better word, healthier, than we see with either set of Hargreeves. Obviously, they love each other, but let's be real here: they're dysfunctional as fuck. This is part of why we love them of course, but it's still a major contrast to the Abernathy siblings
