The Dancing House Prague, Czech Republic AKA Fred and Ginger, one of the buildings I sought out while I was in Prague. Constructed in the '90s, it's a bit of a curiosity in a city completely filled with gothic, art nouveau, and baroque architecture. Though avant-garde, it's still just as stylish as other buildings here.

Art in the Digital Age in Czech Republic

Amid Prague’s old-world backdrop, explore a burgeoning hub of arts and innovation. Czech art encompasses a broad spectrum of styles from 1900s Art Nouveau and Frantisek Kupka’s abstract sculpture to the modernism of Alfons Mucha, Erika Bornova and the geometric abstraction of Ji Formál. Contemporary artist and illustrator Erika Bornova is a multitalented force to be reckoned with—she’s also an accomplished painter, caricaturist and designer. Her multilayered paintings explore historical figures and the mysteries of flora and fauna.

A former industrial area in the Holesovice district became a natural community centre after Communism and is now home to galleries, cafes, clubs and more. Contemporary art center DOX, in a converted Avia aircraft factory, was one of the first to breathe new life into this neighbourhood. The cosy Jedna Dva Tri gallery in the nearby complex of former factories is another hotspot to visit. In the formerly communist warehouses of the Petrohradska kolektiv (the 'Petrohrad Community'), you’ll find more than 30 artist studios. And check out the new club cinema, Bio Oko—it doesn’t play blockbusters, but films that focus on the art of film.

Prague Orloj (Prague Astronomical Clock) Prague, Czech Republic

The oldest clock still in operation in the world, installed in 1410 to the Old Town Hall. A morbid legend has it that its clock maker was offered by other nations to build one just as beautiful- so Prague's council burnt out his eyes, so he couldn't. Driven mad, he jumped into the clock gears, killing himself and broke it for a century, cursed so that anyone else who tried repairing it would go mad too.

I considered many other buildings to draw too, Prague is just absolute eye candy to walk through!
