I make a lot of posts that go against the normal academic ideals and I see so many people in comments and tags talking about how seeing these things said makes them feel so much better and my heart breaks for you. I am beyond happy to be able to help you not feel alone and feel better about yourself, but my heart breaks knowing that people out there stress so much and worry so much about things that are so normal but are hidden and kept secret for fear of shame. So let me share some unaesthetic study, academic, and life things that are too small for their own posts:

I go to class part time and still struggle with time management

My younger cousin has her degree and is in grad school. I'm still an undergrad

I work full time while going to class and have a long commute so I eat on the go so much and it's rarely healthy

My room is always a wreck and I don't remember the last time I swept my apartment

I go to the gym when I can. Sometimes it's 5 times a week, sometimes it's 3 times a month

I cry. A lot

For my 25th birthday my boyfriend got me a sparkly purple dinosaur stuffed animal and I sleep with it and my 5 other stuffed animals

I can never make my coffee the exact same every day

I consume enough caffeine to kill a person and I am feeling the effects of that (not good)

I study a lot and still just get by sometimes hardly

I've missed classes because I couldn't afford the gas more than I'd like to admit

I regret a lot about the past and struggle to be ok with a lot

I never had the traditional college experience

My body screams for sunlight too often

I am chronically sleep deprived and you can see the effects in my skin and demeanor

I think about dropping out at least once a month

So I created this image using Pixlr for my Digital Culture class. It's meant to focus on the aesthetic versus unaesthetic in terms of social media. As someone who consumes a lot of study oriented media and produces some. The assignment felt like a good reminder that our set ups don't have to be aesthetically pleasing to be effective and that most images are staged and don't stay prim and perfect as any study blogger studies. It's part of the process. I'm aware this image is very early 2000s esque but I'm also terrible at editing photos.

hello! do you have any brush/nib recs for ink painting? ive been using watercolor brushes (non-professional wsn), and it works great! but i wanted to try something new :)

Hello, hello! Thanks for the question, I wouldn't say I have a lot of experience with specific brands so I cannot give you any solid recs....Here are my brushes:

Brands:

Pernelli (red, absolutely mystery brand, not sold online anymore?)

DaVinci Ussari Sable (black, has done well so far, nice shape for your hands)

Cotman Winsor and Newton (no complaints)

Royal & Langnickle (metallic, haven't used much, but quality seems quite nice)

These are a mix of gifts from 5+ years ago and brushes I purchased because I wanted a specific size or shape to try ( I do look for brushes aimed for watercolor and I go for mid-range in pricing).

I'd like to try more of the Royal and Langnickel if I get the chance to.

What I eat in a day

… or a week, because I usually just bulk prep food in one day for a whole week. And now you see where my blog got its name, behold my amazing photography skills. So I wanna make a lifestyle change, lose weight, beat my ed ( binge/purge), and do it cheaply. So no smoothie bowls and superfood salads in here, just pretty boring meals that are cheap to make. 

So first things first is a shot of iron 

Breakfast is two pieces of rye bread with herb cream cheese and fruit. On this day it was a banana and a cup of coffee or tea. Iced americano this time. 

Snack apple and a muesli bar. 

Lunch is this pesto, chicken and potato bake, and some steamed vegetables. 

Snack rice cakes and pineapple 

Dinner is macaroni casserole and steamed greens.
