#uncanny x-men 1963
Text
because I'm weird I decided to try reading the x-men from their first 1963 Uncanny X-Men stuff. I'll probably end up skipping ahead to the good stuff. though at the moment, I'm reminded of how utterly terrifying 60s Ironman design is.
No soul in those empty eye holes.

uh the source is Uncanny X-Men 1963 the first Annual

You know when anime got really popular in the 10s? Yeah...
Tumblr media
This is from Uncanny X-Men (1963) #418. This whole book is like this so it's hard to just choose one.

This woman has two eyes, believe it or not.
Tumblr media
That's Northstar on the left and Iceman looking constipated on the right. Neither one is recognizable.

Jean Grey vs Wanda Maximoff - a rivalry decades in the making.
I'll eventually make a longer post about this once I read thru more stuff. but it's interesting how even in the beginning with the X-Men VS The Brotherhood, you have Marvel Girl and the Scarlet Witch duking it out (fighting each other).
Tumblr media
Scott: Jean--Wait! What are you doing??
Jean: Something I've wanted to do for a long time! I want to match my telekinetic power against the Scarlet Witch's Hex power! By keeping her busy ducking flying objects, she won't have time to focys a hex of any of us!
the issue with comic writings is I don't always know what's meant to capitalized and what isn't. but at least it's easy to read! shudders, imagine that in all lowercase, the horror.
go get her Jean!

The narration is down so bad for him it sounds like it was written by charles, but seriously, someone HAS to buy her brown contacts, we can't keep living like this
