I finally watched Uncharted! I was so hyped for this film, you have no Idea. This Game is my all time favorite. And the Nolan North cameo was the best.

ngl, i wasn’t too sure about Tom playing Nathan but he was great! Loved it, 10/10. I’m excited what’s more to come.

First Impressions of Uncharted 3

Yes, I just started playing Uncharted 3 13 years after it was originally released, and man is it showing it's age in the punchline of some of it's jokes. Overall the humor holds up pretty well for the game going on 15 years, but there's a sense of uncanny valley when you listen to certain parts of it's story given one of the main regions where the game is taking place. Another point I found funny in an ironic sense is I could have played this or Uncherted Lost Legacy, and I went with Uncharted 3 to resist more than likely pull into Nadine and Chloe rabbit hole since I got some other fandom projects going and keeping me busy. Only to find out Chloe is there from the start being her wonderful self and reminding me we only got Lost Legacy to fully enjoy her charm without Nathan Drake to take the spotlight. 😭 I also find it so stupid of myself that I decided to go first run blind on Hard mode and initially trying to do stealth. RIP the stealth portion of that. 🤡

I HAVE A SET OF VERY SPECIFIC PHYSICAL GESTURES I'D LIKE TO SEE BLAKE AND YANG DO AS A COUPLE IN THE FUTURE.

Above all... I would obviously love if we got another kiss in the finale, buuut im trying to be realistic so lets go over other physical gestures that i would absolutely die for, that we could get in the finale or in later volumes or in the movies....

• a hug. simple as that!!!! not a side hug or a causal one. a real fucking hug where they embrace each other like they want to fuse their bodies together and they rest their faces in each other's neck. relief, love and comfort. when i tell you some hugs can convey love better than kisses i mean it !!!! so if we could get part 2 of this i would adore it....possibly with them being happy this time

• a kiss on the cheek. depending on the context it can be a more casual way of expressing love to someone. i get that we might not get blake and yang starting another make out session in front of everybody, so i could imagine crwby going for something more casual and cute. i would love if one of them kissed the other's cheek only to be tacked and kissed back on the cheek...so cute

• kiss on the forehead. yang!!!!!! it is your moment to shine!!!!!! girl use your height !!!!! show her how much you love her !!!!!! im in shambles just thinking about how cute that could be.

• bridal carry. very specific i know. i have no reason to want this other than desiring to see their strenght at the service of each other and also bc i think when blake and sun got it it immediately became my peak ship moment so i think bees deserve to carry each other too !!!!

• hug from behind. YANG again use ur height girrrrrl. we almost got it this episode, now do it with purpose 😭😭😭 no seriously it's so fucking cute. i imagine yang approaching blake and just hugging her gently and putting her head between her ears and her arms around blake's tummy JAJXKX ARRRGH BARK BARK

• last but not least i think blake should wink at yang. because i need more smooth flirty blake it kills me and also because she's never winked ever so if she does i think i will simply combust and lick the ground for a week...

C3E37 and Genre Thoughts

I’m seeing so many theories on the latest episode re: Laudna’s past and the things we saw, and here’s my take. On the last 4-sided dive, Marisha said she based ~Laudna~ as her character’s name based on laudanum, the medication. She chose it because “it sounded a little weird, and hazy...and fucks with your head.”

I believe episode 37 reflected that, on purpose.

With the additional knowledge that her birth name was ~Matilda~ it makes so much sense that she has such a personality-fitting name, because she chose it. And I don’t think it’s a coincidence that as a lonely child with magic powers she shared a name with Roald Dahl’s famous Matilda who did the same. But then Matilda died, and her narrative, her genre changed. So of course her name did too.

Delilah has been messing with her head and her memories for 30-odd years and episode 37 really showed us exactly what that looks like. The ages jumping around, the town shifting illogically, the purple sparks of our favorite dead girl answering to both names sometimes, the uncertainty of whether or not fighting her worst memories was changing anything, unsure if they were reaching out to her actual spirit all those times...not even knowing if the horrorscape was under the control of Delilah, or Laudna, or Something Else.

In the horror-adjacent novel Harrow the Ninth, there are both real ghosts and personal hallucinations and we never really get closure on which was which for certain scenes. The author goes into a little bit about that being on purpose, because sometimes the horror is in not knowing, and sometimes the horror is in having to rely on people you cannot trust to tell you what’s real, and sometimes it doesn’t matter if the horrors are physically real or not because you are experiencing them and that’s all that matters.

I feel like Matt took a similar approach with this episode, and I see so many people trying to decipher a Fundamental Truth about why Andy called her Matilda but her parents called her Laudna or other inconsistencies that happened. The theories are getting more and more elaborate, and like, that makes sense! Human nature is to solve mysteries! And I could be wrong but I don’t think there is an in-universe concrete reason. Of course people want there to be an answer—it’s terrifying to not understand what’s happening around you. But this was a horror episode! We got to see the characters physically explore the confusion and manipulation going on in Laudna’s head, so I think some things were meant to be nebulous or outright contradictory. Trauma does that to the brain. It makes you remember things wrong, and having the woman who killed you squatting in your mind, filling it with dark powers and shadowy illusions only expounds on that. Which is terrifying! So of course us viewers don’t like that and are trying to find safe logical paths to The Truth. But sometimes The Truth isn’t simple. Sometimes you can’t find the clues to understand what Actually Happened.

This episode, we got an inside look into Laudna’s mind. It was weird, and hazy, and fucked. Like a too-strong dose of laudanum.
