Not the focus of this blog, but can I say one thing about Little Miss Sunshine for a bit? Okay? Thanks.
Frank and Dwayne were such a good duo. One was a grown adult, unemployed scholar, gay and suicidal. The other was a 15 yrs old nietzsche reader that made a vow of silence and hates everyone. And they got along so quickly.
Pretty much every time someone said something too stupid or absurd, the first thing Frank did was to look at Dwayne, kind of like, "Did you hear this shit too?" and it's so funny. Frank is just in shock over how tf does Dwayne even stands his family, while Dwayne just kind of accepted his company. They were pretty much bonding over the annoyance and confusion Richard and the others caused.

Okay my boy Curtis deserves better. He's a skeleton for 90% of the movie and is the WHOLE REASON THE TOWN BANNED HALLOWEEN but there is not one single picture of skeleton him. There's the zombies uncle Fred(I didn't watch it last year and now my brains all scrambled on names) and Daniel??? I think is the kids name also SkeleCurtis is running around acting all spooky breaking in stealing pictures watching people lurking in the graveyard and HE IS THE PLOT
Look if you have not seen this movie it is a Halloween MUST it's such a good movie. It's not that scary but it is hilarious and as I've mentioned the VFX are amazing for 2001 also the story is by RL Stine also includes great lines such as "trick or treat smell my feet give me something good to eat" and "the germans are coming the germans are coming"
Fair warning there's a whole clown side plot for those that are scared of clowns

Uncle Frank (2020)
Tumblr media
Director: Alan Ball
Stars: Paul Bettany, Sophia Lillis, Peter Macdissi...
In 1973, when Frank Bledsoe and his 18-year-old niece Beth take a road trip from Manhattan to Creekville, South Carolina, for the family patriarch's funeral, they're unexpectedly joined by Frank's lover, Walid.
I liked the relationship of Beth and Frank, how open and accepting they are of each other. Beth seemed like such a sweetheart and I also liked Walid, especially for how strong he is for staying by Frank’s side and supporting him all the time. What I didn’t like was pretty much the 90% of the movie. The drama was too heavy for me, and the happy ending, although appreciated, didn’t in my opinion make up for the rest of the tragedy surrounding it. I didn’t get the sense anybody except for Beth and Walid (and possibly Neva) actually acknowledged Frank’s pain and so the happy ending seemed kind of fake to me.
Rating: 2/5

Uncle Frank (2020, Alan Ball)
22/02/2024
Uncle Frank is a 2020 film written and directed by Alan Ball.
Beth Bledsoe is a teenager who lives in South Carolina, very close to her uncle Frank, as he is more refined and caring than the rest of her family; the girl notices that her other relatives, especially her grandfather Mac, are hostile towards Frank, but she doesn't understand why.
The film was presented at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival on January 25 and distributed on Prime Video starting November 26, 2020.
The dubbing was performed at the Dream&Dream studio in Milan, under the direction of Marcello Cortese.

Facts:
If every single one of Earth's 8.1 billion human inhabitants participated in a one-on-one, single elimination tournament, it would run in the neighborhood of 33 rounds.
American martial artist Frank Dux inspired the film Bloodsport with his claims to winning the Kumite, a single elimination fighting tournament, in the mid 70s.
He claims to have bested sixty opponents, AKA participated in sixty rounds, to do so.
The population of Earth was around 4.1 billion in the time period the Kumite would have happened.
Conclusion:
I suspect that Frank Dux is being less than truthful with us about the Kumite.
