So how do you do those separated au intro things?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So where do I start?
If you know anything about Sonic Underground (main inspo) or separated aus than you already know pretty much everything abt this au.
It’s called underground because, as stated, Sonic Underground was my main inspiration. Basically, after the mutation, Draxum managed to get Donnie and a week later Future Casey Jones jr comes to splints in a dream saying “split up your kids or the world is doomed” so he does and drops them off at random places. Mikey gets found outside of Chateau Prétenche and taken by Rupert Swaggart, Leo gets dropped off outside Hypno and Warrens apartment, and Raph gets dropped at Cassandra Jones’s doorstep.
So we got Raphael “Jones”, Raised by the foot clan, Leonardo “Stone”, Raised by Hypno and Warren, Michelangelo “Swaggart”, raised by Meat Sweats, and Donatello, or just D/Experiment D, raised by Draxum.
Ooooo separated au so original

Person A is the newly appointed ruler of the underworld after they killed all the competition in a brutal battle royal and became known and feared due to their mercilessness before they claimed the throne. But as the ruler, they try to be fair and kind and just - since they only entered the competition for a chance to return to their still living family who needed them. One day, while wandering the domain of the underworld, they come across Person B, a god of life who travels to the underworld to collect empty corpses to use for fertilizer in their gardens, and who is currently playing with a bunch of dead children who were drawn to this god’s aura. Person B is growing flowers from their palms to make crowns for the children and entertaining them, then promises to visit again. So Person A makes a point of coming to the spot and watching them from a distance.

The process of writing the next chapter for “A Valuable Asset” is going slower than I would’ve wanted to, but I have all the needed scenes outlined and partially written. Hope this weekend will be very productive 🙏
So, I guess I’ll just leave a link to my latest chapter, as I haven’t yet posted it here. I posted it on Ao3 on Christmas and thought nobody would need it during the holiday season, but @bryhaven has already scolded me for my decision to not notify anyone (I’m so sorry, dear, I hope you’ll forgive me one day 😁💕💕).
I don’t really know what to say about this chapter except that there’s a lot of fluffy and spicy Rivamika that we all love:)

Railway Wires
Underground au. Elesa's first time in the Battle Subway.
The only light was provided by Elesa's flashlight. The rails on the old abandoned subway line lead the way forward, but Elesa's ears were constantly warning her of sounds that weren't even there, the fear of being run over by a subway train a constant pressure. What if this line wasn't as abandoned as she thought? What if she'd heard the whispers of her gym trainers incorrectly? They had been fairly quiet.
You would think, given the circumstances of battling in Unova, that gym trainers, allowed to battle and train against each other, wouldn't feel the tight restriction of pokemon battles as sharply as the rest of the citizens. Well, Elesa had once been a gym trainer herself and now looked over many, and she was of the opinion that it was the exactly opposite. Gym trainers were locked in to a typing, were locked in a place, knew the thrill of the battle but so rarely were able to actually put that knowledge to use.
Elesa had accepted the battle system of Unova for years. She'd played the game, she'd become a gym leader. But she couldn't deny that she'd felt the chafe of the rules for years and years now. They say it used to be different, that battling with others used to be done in the streets and the roads, and it gave such freedom and understanding, and a sort of adrenaline that a moderated and watched and carefully logged battle couldn't create. Of course, they also said that it was dangerous to put that kind of power into the hands of the people, that roads and sidewalks and buidlings had been ruined far too often. Things are better like this, safer like this, they insist.
But really, it was sort of inevitable that she would be brought here, at least the once.
The trio of pokeballs hanging from her hip felt odd, a weird shape and heaviness. They shouldn't, but knowing that the contents weren't her normal team somehow made the pokeballs entirely alien elements as they gently bumped against her in time with her footsteps.
Elesa could still turn around. It wasn't too late. She hadn't done anything illegal yet, aside from perhaps walking down a closed subway track.
She continued.
Like a distant rumble, or the sound of the wind as it rushes towards you through the treetops, a din began to reach Elesa. Music, she eventually realized, there was music.
An abandoned subway station crowded with trainers, lit with blacklights that served to create a strange and almost confusing atmosphere, mystifying the people illuminated from it. Elesa was glad she'd worn mostly black, but the little red and blue details on her outfit she'd allowed popped out.
There was an absol standing at the edge of the tunnel, valiantly watching, and it just gave her a nod, allowing her to pass and to join the group proper. There were people loudly singing along to the blasting music, dancing, and pokemon everywhere out of their pokeballs, mixed in with the crowd as if well and truly a part of it. Elesa didn't know what to make of it, only standing and staring with wide eyes.
"You look new."
Somehow, the man's voice was audible over all the noise, and it surprised Elesa enough that she jumped. Her hand slid over her pokemon and then her fingers yanked back as if burned. No, it was illegal to release a high-level pokemon in a public space. And then she remembered where she was. The man laughed at her, though it didn't sound capricious. It wasn't exactly warm either. In fact, the man's voice was exactly middle-of-the-road as far as positive or negative inflection went.
He was wearing a white beanie that practically glowed under the blacklight, so low only his eyes barely peeked out from beneath it. He was dressed in plain street clothes, but little spots of yellow designs jumped out. There was a strange and fixed smile on his face that was somewhat off-putting. Then Elesa realized that one of the yellow spots was moving, and she looked closer to see a joltik running freely along the man's clothes. It was frankly adorable, and endeared him to the man a little more.
"You have yet to sign up." The man then said, and despite how it was phrased, it was plain it was actually a question in disguise, especially by how he quizzically tilted his head.
"I haven't." she admitted.
"Follow me!"
He walked into the crowd and Elesa followed behind him, weaving around and between people and pokemon alike. A big scolipede roared, but didn't move to strike anybody, instead just twisting and shuffling like it was dancing along with its trainer. Elesa had been through her fair share of crowds, but there was something about the new and strange atmosphere that made her more on edge, more careful, and she was thankful for the strange man to lead her.
Sure enough, there was a big whiteboard where people had written down pseudonyms that clearly weren't names. A woman was managing the board, and she nodded to the strange man.
"Signing up tonight?" she asked him but the man shook his head.
"I only observe. You know this." he said.
"One day we'll get you on the roster. I have a feeling you've got something good up your sleeve." The woman said. The man smiled and lifted his hand, where a second joltik peeked out of his sleeve.
"Just joltik." He said. The woman rolled her eyes but then turned her attention to Elesa.
"And you?"
"I would like to sign up." She nodded. The woman pulled out a whiteboard marker.
"Name?"
"Uh," Elesa hadn't thought that far. She'd been half convinced she would've turned around before even reaching here, and now here she was, signing up for an illegal tournament.
"What pokemon are you using?" she asked, and revealed she was chewing gum as she blew a big bubble that popped in a satisfying sound.
"Leavanny, Cinccino, and Gothitelle." Elesa listed off. The pokemon weren't very familiar yet and all had yet to battle pokemon that weren't one of the other two. Elesa'd had to train them up in secret, heal them with potions and revives when necessary. Bringing them to an official pokecenter could raise unwanted questions.
"Fashion Beauty." the smiling man said.
"Uh-" Elesa began to interrupt, but the woman was already writing the name down. It was a little too close to Elesa's whole modeling thing for comfort, but even though it was only dry erase marker, it looked so official written down that Elesa let it go. The woman produced a small white band from somewhere and held it out to Elesa. It was one of the kind that was created to be cut off when you were done wearing it, and Elesa dutifully put it on.
"You should get food," The smiling man suggested, "While you wait the official tournament to start."
"Thanks for your help." Elesa fidgeted with the band, looking at the man's bare wrist.
"I like to help, Beauty." he said, easily slipping her new name in. It was only one night, so it wouldn't be a problem. She did her best to remind herself of that.
"Well, I'm at disadvantage here. You know my 'name' but I don’t know yours." The two of them made their way around the edge of the crowd, in the direction of food and drink.
"You can call me Conductor." His smile looked a bit more honest as his hand went up, miming gripping the edge of a hat and tipping it.
"Really buckling down on the train theme here, huh?" She noted, and Conductor gave a laugh.
"Yes! Trains are great!"
"I guess it does make this the best 'train'-ing ground." Elesa mused. Conductor groaned, holding his head in his hands, and now Elesa laughed, smiling.
They'd only just reached the make-shift bar counter when a hush fell over the crowd, the music muting to only a vague hum.
From the subway tunnel, a man emerged. He was weaking a long coat, half of it white with bright blue strips and the other half black with bright red stripes. His hair was so pale gray that the blacklights lit it up, and even from a distance, Elesa could swear his eyes were glowing too. His mouth was covered by a yellow bandana that hid the bottom half of his face. He was flanked by a chandelure and a haxorus, both of which moved with an air of being aware of how much attention they were getting and very used to it, confident radiating from the trio.
"Is the tournament ready, Bugspray?" His voice was loud, easily carrying over to the woman with the whiteboard.
"Nearly, just had a couple last minute entries." She told him. He nodded, and then with a wave of his hand, the noise rose again, though it was plain that people kept glancing over to him as he climbed onto the platform and then stood at the edge, looking over the abandoned train tracks.
Elesa had heard of him before.
The police hadn't managed to track him down. Sometimes, there'd be late-night discussions over his identities, where he was, why he was doing what he was doing.
The founder of the Battle Subway Tournament.
The Subway Master.

Thinking about my au, where humans lost the serpentine wars and are banished underground.
But im rethinking it. Lloyd for one will not be a child but like 16ish, who is apart of a resistance group lead by his father and uncle. But Lloyd was captured and put into the most remote human underground settlement. In the muddle if the sea if sands
Here people who are or are decendants of the generals who fought in the war, rebels, but its mostly people who lived in the area already.
They put them here cause it's in the middle if nowhere so if they do escape they won't make it far by themselves.
So like Lloyd gets thrown in here and like immediately gets adopted by Kai, nya, cole, zane and jay
Probs gonna spill more but I gott9 go brb

We’re In Deep AU
Everyone knows that one conspiracy theory, right? The one that says they faked the moon landing?
It was a bit hokey and of course ridiculous, especially seeing as the moon is pretty easy to get to in comparison, but it was feasible at the time. Now in 2159, however, the moon is less than an hour’s trip away, and the new deep space race is catching the public’s attention. As America begins to lose their footing against rival countries, they devise a plan that would actually allow them to do the unthinkable: fake a voyage to deep space.
Character A is trained in every way imaginable for the biggest lie told in history, right up until the day they climb into their “shuttle” and descend underground for three year’s time until the “voyage” would be complete. After the first six months, they stop hearing word from headquarters. They repeatedly cry out, using every piece of technology they could find to try and escape, but to no avail.
8 years later, movement from above their fake shuttle rouses Character A from their slumber and a knocking is heard on their trap door. Stunned to silence, Character A sprints to unlatch it and splutters when dirt falls onto their face. Rubbing the earth from their eyes and squinting upward revealed the faces of three fairly confused miners who knew Character A by name but never expected to find them there.
TL;DR -- The necessity for the deep space race wasn’t just for the sake of competitive international technology development, but because the apocalypse was coming, and fast. New hospitable worlds needed to be discovered, so as the toxic apocalypse collapsed onto the world and forced them to live underground, Character A was supposed to be looking for a new home for them. Clearly, they haven’t been.

underground submas au ideas
- the battle subway is an illegal operation (whether pokemon battles in general are illegal or just the subway, i leave up to you)
- overall pokemon universe is probably pretty dystopian
- ingo dresses goth/emo and emmet dresses punk/raver, there are no official uniforms for a pair of delinquents trespassing in a subway after all
- do they sneak onto random trains for the battles and run like hell once they reach their stop, or do they have a more permanent arena at an abandoned subway station? up to you
- the twins are basically gang leaders in this underground battling ring, and the main reason you have to fight your way through their goons before you can fight them is to keep their identities secure
- twins are still safety-minded and take their operation’s security verrrry seriously, many cops probably give them a pass every now and then since the twins do such a good job making sure no real harm is done, or may even bet on the outcome of the battles themselves
- oh yeah there’s definitely betting. gotta make money somehow.
- if PLA happens in this au, you can bet that not only emmet but an entire literal gang is going after god to get ingo back. maybe some stay behind in the past, attracted to the simpler lifestyle.
- may or may not be guns/knives/other weapons involved
(disclaimer; this is inspired by several non-au-specific fanartworks i’ve seen, and i’m sure others have also done similar au stuff, this is my own take and everyone is free to take inspiration from it and run with it however they want. please do tag me if you make anything with it tho, i wanna see!)

Chapter 6 of “A Valuable Asset” is out 💙
Soo, it’s Chapter 6 already and Levi and Mikasa finally have a somewhat normal dialogue. What a progress! 😄
Although this chapter depicts only one day of their lives, I feel like there’s quite a lot here. Hope you’ll enjoy it <3

I love the dichotomy of Emmet and Ingo’s designs in the Underground AU. Emmet covers his hair, Ingo covers the lower part of his face. My guess is that it’s to hide the fact they’re identical, thus protecting both their identities? :0
Yes, the identity of the Subway Master is a deep mystery. He usually wears the coat described, but he also has a couple other outfits he's een seen in, and all of them hide his mouth. It's strange, actually. Did you know he's ambidexterous? He changes sometimes which hand he points or throws his pokeball with. His battle strategy also changes up.
Of course, Conductor isn't always at the Battles Subway Tournaments. Usually, though, when he's gone there's another observer present who goes by the name Guard. There's something similar about the two, though the atmosphere makes it heard to make out the details of anybody very clearly. Maybe they're related...?

Oooo the Underground AU sounds so interesting tell us more (if you want ^^)
Yes yes yes yes!!
So the basis if the au is that the humans lost the Serpentine war. And they are all exiled underground as the Serpentine go to live on the surface.
There are three major cities underground. The smallest is the one closest to the surface, the biggest city is beneath that. And there's one more city as deep as they can be. Where there is little to no light besides a few crevices in the ceiling that sunlight peaks through.
In the deepest city is where the children of the elemental masters live. None of them have powers and they are all kept in the deepest city as far away as possible fr9m the surface. Everyone assumes that the elemental master are dead and there is resentment towards these children, they're the scape goats of the city.
Cole was born a few months before the exile and never knew his mom as he was raised by his dad. Zane in a similar boat. He was the adopted son of the ice master but for only a few years before the exile. He's the oldest.
Now Ray, Maya, and Libber were able to slip away with the other people during the exile and stay in hiding for a few years. Jat was born about 5 years after the exile the same with Nya. And Kai was born about a year after ward.
But the Serpentine found Libber a few years after she had Jay and unfortunately he was orphaned (ed and edna step in though to raise him)
And Myaa and Ray where found out a few years later. Now when Libber was found she didn't go away quietly, making a big ruckus and identifying her to who she was. But Ray and Maya went peacefully, knowing they wouldn't win. They hid their powers in a pair of amulets to keep their powers away from the Serpentine and then when the gaurds came for them they went with them, leaving Kai and Nya with trusted friends to raise them. Kai was about 7 and Nya 3.
Kai knows about the powers but Nya does not and he never tells her. Kai grows up and runs a small bakery, cole works in the farms, Jay and Zane gather glow worms and special herbs and plants, and Nya helps with making tools and invents machines to help make life easier for the people.
Ok so everything is not set in stone. I want Nya to not know about powers but idk if the explanation I have is the best. But I want her to find the amulets and then she can try to convince the others to try and fight back.
Also some Serpentines have been able to harness elemental powers form the master such as constricti generals harnessing earth powers, and hypnobri channeling ice, and stuff like that.
