Killer Sans -

Killer thinks it’s beyond adorable. Seeing you so quick to drop everything to help somebody in need intrigues him so much, as he rarely feels actual emotions and empathy. Finds your goody-two-shoes behavior to be very motivating and such a breath of fresh air. It revives the small, faint, part inside of him that was the Sans he used to be.

Another thing is that they have a thing for innocent and naive types, all things untouched by life’s evils. The mere thought of corrupting somebody so sweet and kind is…. something they dwell on very often.

Don’t worry! He won’t hurt you, no, never. He just thinks that your relationship dynamic is funny.. the big bad wolf, Killer, who’s notorious for killing hundreds of innocent monsters without remorse or pity.. and the cute little kindhearted beauty at his side, untouched by all of his evils he has committed in his lifetime.

XTale Sans -

Your purity is exactly what made him fall for you. It’s the way you treat others with a type of kindness he hasn’t seen in so long, the one that he had longed for in his traumatized life. A life where he was stuck being some sort of sickening pawn under his father’s clawed fingertips.

Has an overwhelming instinct to protect you from everyone and everything, like some sort of untrained guard dog; biting, growling, and fighting off threats for the purpose of shielding you from the horrors of the multiverse, even though this protection may or may not be needed.

He can’t have another loved one leave, he just can’t. He loves you too much for you to get hurt like everyone else, he has to protect you. Everybody in the multiverse has a sick cruelness in their souls and he can’t let the light of his life be tainted with their diseases.

Nothing you say will have stop him from being overprotective and afraid of anything and everything.

Error Sans -

Kindness is not something often found in the multiverse, and especially not standing before the very force that stuck down many worlds, ended many lives, and showed no mercy or pity to those they faced against.

And then there was you, who dared flash their sweet smile, friendly words, and sympathetic nature to the destroyer of worlds. They were shaken, this was new, this was peculiar. They had never seen such a phenomenon before.

And so, they study you, they fall in love with you, they take you under their wing.

They couldn’t let the world see something that was only meant for their sockets, and their sockets only. In the multiverse, the strongest take what they want and take what they wanted, Error did. They had to take advantage of this, they couldn’t risk having anybody else having a taste of this.

They didn’t do it to protect you, they did it because they’re lonely, and all who have not friends, allies, or companions want more then they were destined to have. And so, they became selfish, and took you for their own. Have fun.

Killer and Lust with a crazy rich S/o who loves spoiling them

Lust:

* Oh this poor sweetheart was just expecting you to ask for “service” since you kept flirting with him everytime you visited Grillby’s. He found it charming though as you were always making him laugh too. It surprised him really when instead of that, you actually asked him out instead! Especially when he learned you were rich. Like are you sure you want me??? You could literally have anyone! But it just made him feel extra loved that you genuinely liked him for him. He didn’t really care about your money✨

* He’s actually very humble when it comes to gift receiving. Because he’s not used to such nice and thoughtful gifts! So whether it’s a simple rose to a HUGE teddy bear to even the finest wardrobe? He’s a blushing mess, always left surprised and still asking if it’s really ok. (Please reassure him!)

* Despite you spoiling him, he sure as hell is spoiling you too. You definitely have received gifts over time. His gifts weren’t as expensive…..but the thing is, the value of it is something money can’t buy✨ he’s made custom clothes just for you, stitched by HIS hands. Adorable picture books of you, him, even family and friends! Oh and the cuddles, smooches, and fun dates?!

* He’s a romantic guy and he’ll make sure to bring a smile to your face and give you the love you deserve

Mini story time:

“Huh? You have another surprise for me? Goodness you spoil me too much love….” Lust giggles.

You laugh too, “Well I can’t help it. Your smile and blush makes it worth it everytime.”

Lust playfully nudges you, “Oh stop it you!”

You laugh and take his hand in your own. You knew this surprise was probably the biggest you’ve ever given him. But it was an investment that you won’t regret. And you knew Lust would make you proud. So you walk him up to an old building. It looked refurbished and cleaned up already. You open the door with the key.

He looked around in wonder, “Wow…..what place is this?”

“Your new boutique,” You said casually. Lust looked at you in shock. You knew he loved making clothes…..”You have talent Lust. Everyone deserves to know you have something special…..and I’m willing to help show that.”

He actually tears up from this….this was….too sweet. He’s NEVER had such kindness in his life before. You made him feel…..like he actually had value. He hugged you and smiled with purple tears coming down.

“Thank you”

Killer:

* Ah here we go with this lil shet. Now with him, y’all probably got together randomly. He probably saw you on his day off and threw you a pick up line for funsies. Next thing you know, you both exchange numbers and become true love birds. Funniest part? It took him AWHILE to learn you were even rich- probably like a few weeks or a month. He thought it was cool and didn’t really think much of it.

* Now what shocked him was you spoiling him- he literally joked about wanting a PS5. Which he did want but he ain’t got no money- next day? Boom. You pop up with a whole ass PS5 with games he might like. His initial reaction: “Heh nice prank babe”. Oh- oh you weren’t? HOLY SHIT YOU ACTUALLY GOT HIM-?! The way he excitedly jumped up like a happy puppy, you knew you had to spoil him more-

* He absolutely shows you off to his team. Mostly out of a joke but also to be an absolute dick- like just smirking at his teammates, hell even his BOSS, just having an arm around your shoulder to say “My bae spoils and loves me soooooo much✨” Everyone wishes to beat your bonefriend’s ass- not you though. Because honestly you probably spoil them too. So you get a pass. And your bonefriend looking like he done got betrayed-

* He’s a silly little gremlin and honestly he does feel bad that he can’t spoil you more. So he’ll make sure to make you laugh and have fun no matter what.

Mini story time:

Ah the date went well as usual. A fancy dinner, a stop at an ice cream shop, and a walk through the park together under the moonlight. And you couldn’t stop laughing. Killer had been making you laugh the entire night, talking about his latest shenanigans with his group.

“And then after Dust wiped off the pie cream, he chased us ALL around the castle until Nightmare nabbed us and put us in our rooms! Dadmare moment✨,” He said with a chuckle.

“PFFFFT- Dadmare?!” You laughed again, “Killer you’re so cute….but god you’re chaotic-“

Killer takes your hand then kisses it, winking at you, “A chaotic cutie that you love so much~”

You blush but smile, “Yeah…..someone I will always cherish.” You swore for a moment, his eye lights popped up and his target like soul shifted into a heart for a moment.

“………heh. You’re too sweet babe…..,” He says with a nervous chuckle. You were surprised….but you couldn’t resist spoiling him one more time: with a kiss on the cheek. His skull flared with a beautiful shade of red. You giggle as he hid his face and tried acting cool about it. Ah……

XChara would be really scared of joining a relationship at first, mostly because he got betrayed a lot of times, and he's still not sure if he can trust you.

He'd get pretty clingy when he gets to trust you though. I feel like XChara likes physical touch with specific people, like you!

XChara likes to give you some gifts, but not like a normal person would. No, he's going to surprise with a harmless prank before actually giving to you.

XChara is very protective of you. If it is before all that happened in XTale/Underverse, he's going to be mostly because of jealousy.

But after what happened? He's not going to let you go nowhere without him, especially if he knows Ink is around. He's definetly way more possessive of you because he is scared of losing you.

Jealousy too but anyways

He's absolutely proud to be dating you and if he could, XChara would definitely show you off to everyone he knows!

Probably gets all flustered if you randomly kiss him on the cheek or whatever. Listen, he likes physical touch but let him know first because otherwise he's going to get embarrassed, and he probably doesn't like it😭

Okok- Dealers choice. S/o never takes naps? If they tried, they would probably just lie there for hours not being able to fall asleep. The only time they do take a nap is when they sick, have a migraine or just hella tired. And even then their naps only last for like- 30 mins. Then they fall asleep again, repeat cycle. So, if the skelly wants to nap S/o will cuddle with them, and read,watch tv (on soft so it doesnt wake up the skelly), or play on their phone? Thanks!

UT, UF, and US Skeles With an S/O That Never Takes Naps

Undertale:

Sans:

To be entirely honest, Sans doesn't exactly understand how or why you can't take naps

I mean, have you seen him? He can fall asleep practically anywhere!

But he'll do what he can to make you as comfortable as possible if you two are napping together

He'll make sure you have something entertaining to do while he sleeps for a bit, and he makes sure to tell you that you can wake him up at any time for any reason you need

On the rare occasions you are able to nap, he immediately knows something's up

He'll do what he can to make sure everything is alright, and that includes giving you any kind of pain medicine for headaches or anything you might need if you're sick

Papyrus:

Papyrus understands what you mean, he can't sit still for long enough to take naps

He'll find other ways for the two of you to unwind, such as watching some kind of show/movie, or anything else that you think would help you relax for the day

On your off days, or days that you do end up takings naps, Papyrus will try his best to sit still and lay with you while you sleep

When he sees you waking up every half hour, he'll try his best to help you back to sleep if you want to

(By that I mean he pulls you into a skeleton hug and keeps you there until you wake up again-)

Underfell:

Red:

Red just sees it as something that's unique to you, even if he doesn't exactly understand how you can't nap easily

He really appreciates that you're still willing to stay and cuddle with him while he naps for a bit, even if you don't end up falling asleep yourself

He'll say he just likes having you around him (which is entirely true), but really he just feels so much safer when you're around

After being stuck in the underground for so long, in constant fear, he really appreciates being able to be vulnerable and safe with someone

(Not that he'll ever tell you that, though-)

On the days that you aren't feeling well and decide to take a nap, he's more than happy to nap with you

Edge:

Edge doesn't really notice that you have trouble napping, mostly just because he absolutely refuses to let himself nap during the day

He's perfectly fine with going about his day without resting at all (even if he needs to slow down and rest), and he just... assumes you're the same way

On one of the days that you aren't feeling well, he might be a little bit confused as of why you're taking a nap

After you tell him that you have a headache, or are sick, he'll go into a 'oh no, my human is sick and needs help' mode

Expect him to make you your favorite kind of soup, and grab any kind of cold medicine or pain killers that you might need

He probably won't be able to stay still while you rest, so he'll likely be out of the room and doing his own thing so he doesn't wake you up

Underswap:

Blue:

I see Blue as someone who's willing to take naps if he's exhausted or absolutely needs to get some more sleep, so him napping is a rare thing

Once he notices that you don't nap either he'll likely ask you why you don't

Once you explain to him he understands quite a bit, but mostly because he feels the same way

On days that you do nap he'll make sure that you're comfortable before doing his own quiet thing in the room so he doesn't wake you

If you're sick, or need anything on an off day, Blue is glad to help with anything you might need or want

You want more blankets? He'll go grab some from the closet, you just stay there and rest

Stretch:

Stretch somehow manages to take more naps than Sans, they're just much shorter and spread out through the day

He can fall asleep practically anywhere in mere minutes, but he'll wake up before even fifteen minutes have passed

So seeing that you don't take any kind of naps at all might make him a little bit worried, especially if you didn't sleep very well the night before

He'll try his best to make sure that you get proper sleep at night so there's little need to be tired during the day

On days that you do take naps though, Stretch is eager to cuddle with you and nap

Even if it's only for a little while, any time he spends with you is well spent in his eyes

fluff ☁️

dream lay in between my legs, his head resting up against me as he read. some new book he had been raving about, i’d been struggling to focus, or even listen to anything for the last couple of days- it’s been getting on my nerves. after being cooped up in this.. space? i’m not really sure what it was called, you get a bit stuck in your own head. too conscious of your own thoughts, i get like that. it gets worse when dream is off doing god knows what for hours at a time- he doesn’t tell me much, never has, you just get used to be in the dark, doesn’t make it any more bearable but it makes you expect it.

“y/n? y/n?” dream calls out to me, breaking me from my mental rant.

“huh? yeah sorry,” i reply sheepishly as i hear a sigh from him, he places his book down.

“what are you thinking about?” he beams, i can feel him smiling despite not being able to see.

“nothing much, just wondering what you’re reading,” i lie, i know he can tell but he goes along with it anyway.

“you feel quite tense for just that,” he chuckles, “i’m going to have to meet blue and ink soon, we’ve got some things to figure out,” he massages my thigh as i lean back, exhaling softly before i decide what to say.

“..why don’t i come?” i speak, just above a whisper, my question makes him go slightly rigid.

“well, y/n, um. i’ll have to think about it,” he stammers, unsure of what to say. dream is one of the most positive people i know, i never usually see him looking for his words.

“it’s alright, i just thought it’d be nice to meet your friends, considering you spend so much time with them,”

“trust me i spent a lot more time with them before i met you, and they’re starting to have a few questions about that. maybe it’d be good if you met them,” he announced, jumping up and dusting himself off.

i quickly followed, letting him guide me to where we we’re going.

after a strange way of transportation, we arrived. there were 2 other skeletons like him, one with a paint brush and another with a blue bandana- they suited their names. who i presumed was blue jumped up when he saw me, cocking his head at dream, while ink stayed seated, his eyes narrowed at me.

“WHO’S THIS!?” blue demanded, attempting to rush over to me, only to be pulled back by ink. dream had spoken very little of them both beyond their names but i could guess ink was in charge by his demeanour.

“this is y/n, she’s been living with me for the past couple of months. i thought she should meet you two,” he smiled, his arm firmly around my waist.

“and you bought her to a meeting?” ink questioned, a slight bite in his voice.

“HELLO HUMAN Y/N, DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?” blue almost screamed, i didn’t really know what to say.

“it’s nice to meet you y/n,” ink said, a forced politeness to me, i could tell he didn’t mean to be rude but there was something beneath the surface. “can we speak to you alone dream?” he asked, tapping his bony fingers rhythmically against the table.

“of course you can, y/n would you mind going into the other room?” he asked, pointing to a wooden door to my left, i walked off, ignoring the goodbyes from the 3 skeletons.

there i tried to drown out their argument, i heard my name being thrown around like a game of piggy in the middle. dream drastically trying to defend not only me but myself, ink interrogating him about where i came from, who i was, if i was dangerous and how much of a risk i made them. and blue was just joining in, asking so many questions about me. i desperately tried to ignore it, wishing for some headphones, or at least to be put in a room far, far away from them.

after an hour of being on my own, dream burst into the room, a tired, forced smile on his face.

“y/n! come on, we’re going,” we sighed, trying his best to keep his normal bubbly energy up.

“what even happened?” i asked as he dragged my arm lightly.

“we’ll discuss this next time,” ink spoke calmly, clearly with ruffled feathers.

“there’s nothing more to discuss.” dream said sternly, ending the conversation- you could cut the atmosphere with a knife.

when we got home i was still very confused, as always.

“what was that all about?” i asked, while dream held me, he had told me before that my presence alone can calm him down, so i think that’s what he needed right now.

no response.

“dream?” i questioned again, waiting for an answer.

5 minutes of silence went by before he stated,

“they want to take you away from me.”

“what?” i didn’t know how to feel, or what to say, dream was trying his hardest to stay calm and remain in a happy place, yet the way he was acting was eerie.

“but i’m not going to let them do that, you’re never leaving me. i promise.”

Now, we all know (I think) that Ink doesn't have any feelings of his own, he's has to take the vials to feel something right?

While I feel like he could be in a relationship, I hope you're not too sensitive because he doesn't actually love you because, you know, he literally can't feel any emotion

Also, I'm pretty sure that it's canon that he has a very bad memory (He doesn't have a soul, so he's just living). So he'll probably forget about you..

"But why would he ask me out then?" You may ask. Well, it's probably because someone in the Noot Noot gang (I stand by this name) or Error has a crush on you. He's just messing with them

Or maybe you belong to an Au where you being with him would create an unexpected reaction (at least to his eyes)

I have headcanons about the start sanses if you'd like more depth to this, but Blue will send reminder to Ink so he doesn't hurt you by forgetting you or something. He's definitely not happy that Ink is using you, but at the same time, he doesn't want to break your heart/soul by telling you the truth.

Dream probably avoids you. He doesn't know what to do, honestly.

Well, let's ACTUALLY start making headcanons for what you asked (after breaking you, lmao)

At first, he was really weird about it. He didn't get why you felt like you had to be glued to him to feel good, but after some recherches, (don't think I spelled that right but wtv) well more like after harrasing Blue about it, he understood. Well, no, not really, but he kinda gets the point

So when he's with you, he'll try to give you as much attention as he can. If he remembers you in the first place.

It goes from awkwardly patting you on the back to laying himself on top of you to clinging to you to the point that you can't move

Yeah... it's all or nothing with Ink, but hey! You got your touch (　＾∀＾)

No, but for real, you deserve way better, I'm sorry, but it is what it is

He's not a good guy, but it could be interesting to be friend with him if you do anything special around in the multiverse

Like he takes advantage of you, but I don't think it's that hard enough to take advantage of him either, actually

I'm so sorry for this, you waited so long and for what? Me telling you that it's pretty much impossible. (　ＴДＴ)

No, but for real, if you want to, I can explain why I feel that way about him, but like- I can't fake liking him 100%

some random sanses/papyri headcanons that will be noticeable in my oneshots/fics :]

- Both Nightmare and Dream can play the violin, they learned how to as children.

- Edge can play the piano, he took lessons!

- Nightmare and Killer both have fangs.

- Horror/Mars has a pet bird that sometimes likes to hide away in his skull.

- Jupiter hosts a weekly book club! He even invites Toriel's variants to it so they can discuss their favorite novels together. Sometimes the Frisk/Chara variants even come along!

- Rus and Stretch are some of the goofiest friends ever, like they're always getting into shenanigans. They're also really competitive with each other when it comes to games

- Blue goes on early morning jogs before he goes anywhere to wake up and clear his mind.

- Fell/Red can play the electric guitar, he can even make it talk! (This is a pretty common headcanon but it's mine too)

- Dream has become a coffee addict someone help him /srs

- Blueberry is a little shit and needs to have eyelights on him at all times before he indulges in tomfoolery (Blue often scolds him for doing things he shouldn't)

When he's NOT being a little shit, he's the sweetest kid ever

- Ink is just here for the vibes. Like he's just chillin half the time or otherwise he's hyper

- Killer and Dust can either share a braincell or be polar opposites in situations, it's a gamble truly

- Nightmare keeps a garden of particularly roses outside his castle. When colder seasons arrive he places magic over them so they don't wilt and he can still admire them from afar

- Ink and Fresh like to indulge in graffiti in random AUs from time to time, sometimes making patterns no one in said AU will understand. (Because it's funny)

- Red is afraid of spiders. Do not come near him with one.

- Edge often buys little outfits for Doomfanger that you can often see her wearing, varying in styles but usually being either red or black. Or, occasionally, purple. Classic Paps got her a frog hat once and that was the only suggestion he allowed from one of the others

- Stretch frequents the local arcade 90% of the time for either DDR or Skeeball

- Rus would go crazy in laser tag

- Black will call you out on your fashion choices. The man WILL correct you if he sees fit to, and will often gossip about his coworkers' attire

- Black is also a coffee addict

- Do not give Blue too much coffee, and do not give Berry any coffee. This was learned the hard way

| - A bit confused? ( yeah this again )

| - Doesn’t really know what to do, but they end up trying to urge you to go to sleep. They know that monsters and humans need plenty of rest and they want you to be happy and healthy. If you don’t go to sleep when they ask you to, they’ll just take your device away and won’t give it back to you til morning.

| - They’re a bit of an asshole.

✦ - Dream!Sans

| - Literally go to fucking sleep it’s 2 a.m.

| - He tries to inform you how unbelievably unhealthy it is to stay awake at this time. Very knowledgeable on anything that affects positive feelings and mental health. Will definitely try his hardest to get you to sleep, but he’ll give up if you seem uninterested or show any signs of anger in his efforts.

The Bad Sanses (+ Cross) with an tired S/o who always drinks energy drinks!

Dust:

* How are you alive man? Like not radioactive and shit-? That is a LOT of energy drinks. And you can’t fool this guy. He’s very observant so he’ll immediately notice that you still get tired.

* He honestly might just teach you the bad causes of drinking too many. Nah really he will sit you down with all the research he did to explain everything. (Quite endearing really. He really wants to make sure you’re ok❤️)

* Now he’s not gonna force you to stop. It’s really up to you in the end. But he will still be making sure you are ok. And he suggests healthier options too! See? Now you can enjoy what you love but in a much healthier way!

* He’s not very talkative but the way he shows how much he cares for you is very sweet. Don’t worry your skellie too much! He’s quite the Worrywart!

Horror:

* Boyo is always trying to take a sip from your can. He’s just curious on why you love it so much. So much that he is literally giving you puppy eyes so that you’ll give him a sip (which I know you succumbed to the cuteness-). He found it pretty cool!

* And yet…..you still cannot get away with saying “Oh I’m not tired! Just waiting for it to kick in! 👀💦” yeah sweetie Horror is also very observant. He’ll make you get sleep. And you can ONLY get an energy drink if you get proper sleep in!

* He knows you love the drinks but he’d rather you get proper sleep first! Then you can have any you like! Why drink to get energy when you can just sleep Y’know? That’s what he thinks anyway. But he wants you happy too so you always wake up with an energy drink ready for you! ☺️

* He just wants you to be happy and healthy!

Killer:

* Bruh. You know DAMN well he’s probably the one supplying you the damn drinks- if you thought you was bad? Think again- he literally has an unlimited supply in god knows where in that room of his…..

* Let’s be honest: He drinks WITH you. Both of you happily drinking together on the couch watching anime or playing games. But he’ll drop a few hints about “Heh might wanna slow down…”

* Now just because he kind of (is) a bad influence, doesn’t mean he won’t keep an eye on you. If he sees how it affects you, he’ll try to moderate how much to give you. Because he may be a lil shit….but he cares about you a lot.

* You can always be guaranteed to have fun with this guy but also taken care of no matter what!

Error:

* Glitchy boi would be a straight up dick talking about you have an addiction meanwhile he’s on his 15th chocolate bar himself- I’m pretty sure he steals your drinks too-

* And you can bet he’s taking those drinks away if you’re overdoing it. He’ll have multiple excuses for keeping it from you…..but really he just wuvs you and doesn’t want you feeling all sluggish because he worries for you 🥺. Will he admit that? HA! No-

* Though he will easily give in with a little….convincing. Puppy eyes and promising more chocolates? He’ll eventually give in. But he also makes you promise to at least take it easy with the drinks.

* Grumpy hobo man may be a lil sassy but he means well!

Nightmare:

* He’s probably the only one who doesn’t see why the hell you like these drinks. It tastes like battery acid…..(says the guy drinking black coffee-). He didn’t really care at first but the MOMENT he sees how groggy you get? Oh you fucked up-

* He’s immediately hiding your stash and you WILL be scolded if you ask about it. And he’s dragging your ass to bed to make sure you get proper sleep. Right after he makes sure you are properly hydrated first.

* I can imagine even as his S/o, these moments can be quite unexpected but he was like…..mother henning you. And the way he stays by your side to make sure you’re ok makes your heart melt❤️

* Even the king of negativity can have a sweet side!

Cross (Lil bonus boi✨):

* Well he does like a few energy drinks himself especially for a game night or during morning training. He can drink as much as you without really realizing it then feels guilty about it but laughs it off.

* But it’s definitely a different story when he notices how sleepy you still are especially after the amount you drank. He gets a little concerned and asks if you’re okay. When he learns the energy drinks don’t work on you, he thought of a few ideas…..

* He looked for alternatives that could help you wake up much better. Like working out with him and eating a few healthier meals! But you both do have days to splurge on your favorite drink. It’s only fair!

* He didn’t want you to miss out on what you loved! So he helped you find a balance! He just loves you so!❤️

Error Sans x Reader - 𝓢𝓽𝓪𝓻𝓼

~*~

With a scowl on his face, Error sits idly on his spot on the couch in your living room.

Yes, his spot.

He spends so much time at your place that he had claimed the left side of your couch as his, not that you really minded. You happened to like the right side better anyway, or so you’ve told him. However, you had spent the entire evening up in your spare room, leaving Error without his couch buddy. At some point, he had even gone up to see what you were doing, but you told him he wasn't allowed to see yet.

Which is why he now sits on the couch alone, grumbling to himself.

Look, Error knew you were probably making something to show him, if the mischievous look on your face told him anything. You had told him before that that extra room became your hobby room when you moved in. He's seen it before. It was filled with miscellaneous art supplies and instruments. He... didn't like going in there too often. It reminded him of a certain skeleton he'd rather not think about. You had told him that you completely understood. After all, hating that rainbow bastard was something you two had in common.

Despite his hesitance, he still wanted to see what was taking you so long. He knew it was supposed to be a surprise, but that didn't stop Error from being painfully restless and incredibly curious. The tv in front of him became white noise as his mind raced with different possibilities. He didn't really like surprises, they tended to make him crash.

But he knew you would never do anything to scare him on purpose.

He flushed a bit at that thought, but he quickly shoved it away. Never in a million years did he think he would ever feel comfortable enough around someone to think that, let alone a human.

With an overdramatic sigh, Error flops sideways on the couch into a laying position, staring at the ceiling. Hopefully you'd be done soon... he's not sure how much longer he can be patient.

With a few more flicks of your brush against the canvas, you let it drop into the water glass with a satisfying plop. Taking a step back from the easel, you cross your arms over your chest. You squint, tilting your head sideways as you looked at the now-completed painting in front of you. With a satisfied grin, you sigh happily at the completed art piece. You were honestly worried that you wouldn't finish it on time. You wanted to give it to Error before the day was up, and you knew you were pushing it, but you were able to power through and create something you were rather proud of. You see, today was an anniversary of sorts. Today marked exactly one year since you saw the stars for the first time, and Error had been the one to show them to you.

You had lived in a busy city ever since you were a child, so you had never really been able to see the night sky. The combination of light pollution and your busy schedule prevented you from ever seeing the stars in person.

The night you first saw the stars happened unexpectedly. Error had come over again, like he usually did, and you happened to be watching a documentary about space exploration. Error surprisingly seemed to be really interested in the topic. He told you that watching a documentary would never compare to seeing the real thing. You offhandedly mentioned that you had never seen the stars in person before. He then proceeded to give you a bewildered look, asking how that was even possible. You shrug, saying you had never had the opportunity to see them. Without a word, he then wrapped a few of his strings around your wrist and opened a portal. He dragged you off of the couch, much to your displeasure, and through the portal. You were confused at first... the ground beneath you had changed from your carpet to what appeared to be rock, and the surrounding area was darker than it had been before. You remember asking Error where he had brought you and he simply pointed to the sky, saying "You said you've never seen the stars, so I brought you to the source."

You lift your head to the sky and let out an audible gasp. That's when you saw them. Millions of bright, glowing stars shining in all their glory. The stars were brilliant shades of blue, purple, and yellow, twinkling above you. It felt like your breath had been taken away. You had never seen anything more beautiful in your entire life. Error explained to you that this was another universe, known as Outertale. It quickly became a very special place for you and Error.

And the rest was history.

With a faint smile on your lips at the memory, you turned towards the door to your spare room. You couldn't wait to see what Error thought of your gift.

Error heard the door to the spare room creek open and he quickly sat up. You peeked your head around the door frame and looked around before calling down to the glitchy skeleton.

"Error, I'm do-," you began, but you were suddenly cut off by a familiar black blur appearing in front of you.

You let out a small shriek as Error chuckles to himself.

"Whoops, I didn't mean to teleport that close," Error says with a smug grin.

He totally did. What a dork. You shake your head with a small laugh, straightening yourself out.

"That excited to see what I made, huh?" you ask jokingly.

Error pinches his fingers together and squints.

"Maybe a little bit. You've been up here for the past two and a half hours, I can't help but be a little curious, you know?" he says with a noncommittal shrug.

You roll your eyes and chuckle.

"You are so impatient," you joke, as Error puts his hand on his chest in mock offense.

"Ouch, you wound me," he says dramatically.

"Come on, weirdo, do you want to see or not?"

"I don't know, I'll think about it."

You give him an unamused look, causing a smug smile to spread across his face. He lets out a loud laugh before walking towards the door.

"Fine, fine, I'll look, but only because you asked so nicely," Error says teasingly.

You roll your eyes again and snort out a laugh. Grabbing the door, you swing it open so Error could walk through. As Error started walking past you, you quickly stopped him.

"Wait wait, don't go in yet," you say briskly.

"Do you want me to go in or not? I'm getting mixed signals here," Error says with an amused huff.

"Yes, I want you to come in, but you need to close your eyes first."

Error quirks an eyebrow before squinting his eye sockets suspiciously.

"Why? Is something going to jump out at me?" Error says skeptically.

"No, nothing is going to jump out at you, I promise. I just want it to be a surprise," you say, shifting awkwardly in place.

Error's eye lights scan your face for a moment before he sighs.

"Fine, but if I crash, I'm blaming you," he says.

He uses a few of his strings and wraps them around your wrist, then he closes his eyes. He even puts a hand over his eyes for good measure. You giggle at this, causing him to smirk. He tugs at the strings attached to your wrist.

"Come on, lead the way," he says.

You gently pull him along toward the easel where the painting stood proudly. He shuffled slowly behind you, looking a bit nervous due to his lack of eyesight. You eventually come to a stop, tugging on the strings around your wrist.

"You can open your eyes now," you say, barely able to contain your excitement.

The strings fall away from your wrist and Error takes his hand off of his eyes. You watch as his eye lights look towards the easel and his slight smirk fades into a shocked silence. In front of him stood a painting of Outertale, with delicately painted stars scattered along the canvas' surface. His eye lights flicked to the bottom of the canvas, where, to his surprise, he saw himself, with you right next to him, looking up at the starry night sky. His feet carried him absentmindedly towards the painting, at a loss for words. Paintings usually bothered him because of how much they reminded him of Ink, but your painting felt... different. He could almost feel your heart and soul in every brush stroke. Every delicately painted star seemed to glow with warm intent.

And you made this for him.

"Do... you like it? I made it as a thank you for taking me to see the stars. On this day, one year ago, you allowed me to experience something people only read about in science books... I just felt like I had to repay you somehow," you say, albeit a bit awkwardly.

Error just continues to stare at the canvas, seemingly lost in thought.

"Error--?"

"It's beautiful," he says in a small voice.

You look at him with wide eyes.

"What?" you say, unsure you heard him correctly.

"I said it's beautiful. It's really beautiful," he says with a small laugh.

Your heart melted seeing Error so happy about your gift. A warm feeling flooded your chest, causing your face to heat up.

"I'm glad you like it. I... care about you a lot. You've made me happier in the past year than I have been my entire life, it was the least I could do," you say gently.

Now it was Error's turn to blush. He looked at you wide-eyed, a dark blue hue spreading across his face. You giggle at his dumbfounded expression, causing the blush on his face to increase. He pulls his scarf up around his mouth, trying to hide his flustered expression. He looks away for a moment, allowing the heat in his face to cool down before he turns back to you. His expression had softened considerably, looking at you with a gentle expression.

"You... really made this... for me?" he says quietly, almost like he didn't trust his own voice.

"Well, yeah. You always tell me how much you love Outertale, and it has a special place in my own heart. I just wanted to give you a gift to show you my appreciation," you say honestly.

His eye lights search your face for a moment, almost like he was trying to find some sort of ulterior motive. When he found none, a smile spreads over his face.

"I've never been given anything like this before. I... don't know what to say," he says.

"Well, your expression says it all," you say teasingly.

Error gives you a playful stare, shaking his head with an amused huff. His expression mellows and he looks at you again.

"Thank you," he says.

You give him a warm smile.

"You deserve it," you say gently.

You look at each other for a moment before you turn your attention to the painting again. Your smile suddenly turned sour when you realized something.

"I knew I was forgetting something," you mumble.

Error gives you a weird look as you glare at the canvas.

"What could you have possibly forgotten? It looks pretty good to me," he says jokingly.

You wave your hand dismissively with a small chuckle.

"It's nothing major, I just forgot to sign it. I usually sign my artwork when I'm done with it," you explain.

Error shakes his head with a chuckle. You were weird.

He didn't mind that, though.

"Actually," you say, bringing Error out of his thoughts, "Maybe this is a good thing. Now we can both sign it!"

Error whips his head around and gives you a confused look.

"Me? Why would I sign it? I didn't make it," he says.

"Well, without you, I wouldn't have even seen the stars, so it is only fair that the skeleton who inspired me gets to sign it too," you say with a wink.

Error can feel his face heat up again. God, you were really trying to kill him tonight, weren't you? He feels your eyes on him. He hears you snort out a laugh, making him want to hide in his scarf again.

"Come on, glowstick. Your blush is lighting up the room. Are you going to sign the canvas, or not?" you say, holding up a pen.

Error grumbles something at you before snatching the pen out of your hand. You chuckle at his pouting face as you gently take the canvas off of the easel. Placing the painting on the table, you show him where to sign. Error uncaps the pen, hovers it over the canvas, and stops. His eyebrows are knitted together as his hand shakes above the canvas.

"I'm going to mess this up..." he grumbles to himself.

"No, you aren't," you assure him, "No matter what you do, I'm going to love it, trust me."

He glances at you and sighs.

"Alright... here goes nothing," he says under his breath.

Hesitantly, Error puts the pen on the painting and begins to sign his name. You had never seen his handwriting before, but it was way cooler than you ever could have imagined. He wrote his letters in a blocky fashion, which, much to your amusement, looked like the font used on old CRT computers. When he was done, he looked at you nervously, almost like he was looking for your approval.

"That looks amazing, Error! Your handwriting is so cool!" you praise.

Error shrugs and glances back at his handiwork.

"It's nothing special... but, glad you like it," he says with a small smile.

Now it’s your turn. Error hands you the pen, careful to avoid accidentally brushing his hand with yours. Uncapping the pen, you brush your hair out of your face and place the pen on the canvas' surface.

"Don't mess up," Error says from beside you.

You look at him and give him a glare, which he gladly returns with a smug grin. You roll your eyes and place the pen back on the canvas, quickly signing your name in the best cursive you could manage. Error gives you a hum of approval as you take a step back to admire the newly signed painting.

"Now it’s perfect," you say with a satisfied smile.

You pick up the canvas and give it to Error. His eyes widen, gently taking the canvas and holding it as if it were made of glass. His eye lights scan over the painting as a smile creeps along his face. He looks back up at you and studies your face for a moment, contemplating something. You give him a confused look and he sighs.

"S-stay still for a moment, alright?" he asks hesitantly.

You nod, despite your confusion. You watch as he walks towards you slowly. Once he is right in front of you, he takes a deep breath, holds out his arms, and wraps them around your shoulders.

He was hugging you.

He had never even let you touch him because of his haphephobia, and now here he was, giving you a hug. You desperately wanted to hug him back, but you kept your arms at your side, so you don't accidentally spook him. So, you opted to rest your head on his shoulder instead. You feel him tense up for a moment, his body vibrating and glitching a bit more than usual until he eventually settles into the hug again.

"Thank you... for everything," he says in a soft voice.

"Of course, Error. I don't know what I would do without you," you say with a smile on your face.

You both stand there for a few moments in content silence before Error's hand shifts off of your back. You hear the clink of glass, but before you could question it, you feel a wet paintbrush brush across your cheek. You gasp at the foreign feeling on your face as Error pulls away, paintbrush and canvas in hand.

"That's for calling me a glowstick," Error says with a smug grin before he teleports out of the room with an evil cackle.

"ERROR!"
