i shouldnt even have tried to go to work today 😵‍💫 i was doing a late start hoping for the ice to melt and at 11:30am i was like ohh it’s raining, the solid sheet of ice covering the ground looks slushy enough to walk on, i need the hours…then i ventured outside and immediately fell off my porch cuz it was still frozen, had to penguin walk 5 blocks to the bus stop which took like 4x as long as usual, fell again, stepped in several hidden slush puddles, finally got to the bus stop only to see that the next bus was canceled, realized that the walk from the bus to work was even longer and that i would have to do it again in just a few hours bc i was already so late, at which point i was like “you know what, fuck this actually” and texted my boss as much and started making my way home…accidentally turned down the wrong block for several minutes bc i was paying such close attn to my foot placement and then while backtracking i ate serious shit on a patch of black ice and bruised tf out of my knees 🥲 i pray no one was filming me from their window

#ive only worked like 1 total day this week too and i have so many unexpected bills this month 😭 #and no more pto #i heard you can apply for unemployment for the inclement weather days so hopefully that works out

Just for the record, Yahweh is very explicitly NOT Christian God. It's a Hebrew word relevant to Judaism.

I am really sorry I am not arguing with you and I am aware that it is very relevant in Judaism and it's originated from there I will be honest other then what a few of my friends and my uncle have shared with me and don't know as much as I would like to about Judaism.

However just like yule, easter, the fish symbol, and a billion other things from other cultures and religions Christians have stolen it and made their own version of it?

I have heard several ministers use that name in sermons my entire life in multiple churches, i can link you to a million different hymns, christan rock/pop songs that reference the christan god by that name my mother was incredibly fond of a Chris Tomlin version. There are a billion christan books, all written by Christans for Christans that use that name as well as the name Jehovah in reference to they're god, if you Google Yahweh several Christan sites show up.

The post I'm assuming your referencing said Christianity in it also and was just criticizing the idea of eternal damnation?

I'm not saying I think it's a good thing that they take everything and make it about they're god or arguing with you that this is very important and originated with Judaism but my whole entire life I've seen and heard christans using it n referencing to they're god (as well as a bunch of other names too I remember being in a christan store and there was this poster that had like a billion different names and words for God, also a lot of home decor with Yahweh, Jehovah, Jesus, Emmanuel they really use a lot of names for they're god and the same Bible verses over n over all written in pretty letters and flowers????)

I've lived my whole life with that name sang in church and I'm pretty certain a lot of American christans (especially homeschoolers for some reason?) use it in ref to they're god so I'm not sure where to go or what to do with this I'm sorry I'm not really sure how to respond other then tell you what i experienced growing up that Christans stole it like they steal everything.

Ducks update:

I was checking out at the store and offered the girl helping me a duck. Her mind was blown. She was so excited. She said this was the best thing that happened to her all week.

Then she said how her nickname in high school was ducky so I pulled out all of the ducks in my pocket and tried to give them to her and she insisted “no I can’t take all the ducks.”

I told her I bought 800 and she absolutely could have the six left in my pocket.

This kid was SO EXCITED. She wanted to know how I got the idea to give out ducks and I said I watched a tiktok where a woman bought the ducks and put them all on her mantle and I thought “it’d be fun to put them in my pocket instead and randomly give them out.”

I probably should have told her that I used to work a grueling job with lots of hours and lots of yelling and I’d bring stickers for coworkers because even grown ups love stickers. So I got the idea of handing out ducks because it made people happy which makes ME happy. The silly ducks have seriously been so much fun.

#listen. im just gonna rant abt something real dumb for a sec #the framing of missing 411 stories make me so annoyed. and if u dont kno. missing 411 stories are focused on ppl who went missing in #national parks or just out in nature with no real explanation. i dont even kno why i watch these videos they just make me mad #theyre not all bad but like mother fucker do u not kno how easy it is to get lost in thr fucking woods? #theyre like: this person was an experienced hiker. they wouldnt have just done X #like no. fuck off. it only takes one bad move. one bad day. one unexpected run in and boom that's it #its not that crazy???? its not magic or bigfoot. its ppl getting confused or disoriented and panicking #i mean. obvously not in every case but fucking im like 99% sure its not spooky stuff. its just easier than youd like to think to get lost #my little sister got lost in the woods when she was like 6. she took a wrong turn on a hiking path and walked so far my dad almost turned #back bc he thought she would never get that far but there she was. one tiny blip in a big big forest and she was on a path #its so so easy to miss one tiny point out there. this also goes for places out in the desert #like sure its flat. how could a person get lost in an open space? but no fuck u. ive gotten lost walking along a 50m flat transect #i looked up and for about a minute i wasnt where i thought i was. the heat and not drinking or eating enough can really mess with you head #ugh. i dunno. one of my lab mates has done more like serious outdoors stuff. like not going back to civilization for weeks doing field #work out in Colorado. and he says there is something weird about being alone out there. like some places have a call to them. a temptation #compelling you to do things u kno r bad ideas. but i also pressed him and it seems to come from a lack of othet ppl watching you #like a lack of socal constraint enables the temptation to make reckless choices. so like i dunno it sounds more like a human thing #than the supernatural but like what do i kno? anyway. missing 411 stories make me man #mad. god. there was one i watched where the guys were like. hm they seem to happen around weird places like swamps. or around bad weather #events. so maybe these places or events cause disappearances to happen. like fucking no! do u hear what ur saying????? #the disappearences occure around places that are objectively difficult to search under conditions that delay search effort????? is ur brain #broken? the bad conditions make it hard to find ppl so u find less ppl and theyre marked as missing. jesus christ #anyway. its baffling to me. but i keep watching thr videos. probably bc i have nightmares about running into wild animals out in the woods #so im searching for like. god what not to do if i get lost in the woods. when what i shoukd do is watch survival videos rip #unrelated #ugh. also ive done some work in a national park where u would think its super super hard to get lost but our fieldwork got delayed bc ppl #had to go do search and rescue and the person was dead by the time they were found. i dont kno the details but like its a thing that #happens. its not that crazy #not to mention all the dumb fucks who fall of the cliffs every year down where i grew up. every fucking year. it happened to one of our #neighbors. he was at the bottom of this cliff for a whole day and survived. i dunno bad things happen everyday. u r not immune
