It started with me thinking and wondering about a specific fic that is unrelated to this post, frankly different fandom, and I was wondering how it would play out in a movie format, but seeing as the fic in question currently is unfinished and won't be for a while I decided to direct my attention to other fandoms, got to DCA fandom, came up with a few cute ideas i didn't write down for unfinished fics, for the record I do think it would be interesting if Solar Lunacy was a musical just saying, and then I started to think about ok what fics ARE fini-

SLEUTH JESTERS HECK YEAH

Unfortunately at the moment I don't have any digital sketches to share for some of these points and the sketches I do have are pretty messy SO I'LL JUST RAMBLE cause I already wrote down a lot of these separately

Firstly, I imagine this kind of musical being in universe kind of au. Possibly an extension of the Actor AU where the original media (tv show? movie?) got so popular it got a musical adaptation

I imagine the actual music, whether the songs or just sound track, would be heavily inspired by Jazz or smthn. Like, the genre of music most popular during the time period Sleuth Jesters is in ish. It would still be musical-like but you can tell the genre they are going for

And before continuing, to get around not actually saying "y/n" on stage cause that might be a little awkward MAYBE there could be some kind of special sound affect for the actors mics that the audience knows is y/n's name?? Half baked tho

COSTUMES

Sun, Moon and Eclipse (at least) would have highly decorated masks to match the original just added onto because they are on stage. Masks, so that there are more options for who to cast. To make up for this, the actors have to make it clear in their body language to make up for lack of expression

in productions with higher budget mayhaps one function could be the eyes have options for what emotion they could express

In most productions there will be sound effects in the background that mimic the noise that Sun Moon and Eclipse make as they move. Or at least be incorporated into the sound track ooooo

Y/n's clothes would have an easy to notice difference in quality compared to the DCAs, which makes the bell and ribbons much more noticeable on stage

Smaller note but I think y/n's make up could be kind of fun with how they show the y and n on their face

Would probably have a wig colored various shades of silver but not required

FIRST SONG FIRST SONG FIRST SONG

Would be the introduction (of course) and depict the first chapter and likely have something to do with "Until Next Time". I think possibly it would have little breaks in the song to fit in the dialogue

Honestly, in an adaptation there might just be more scenes added between the earlier chapters to fill in points in time or smthn

OR (the answer I like better) The first act uses time between chapters to fill in reader watcher on backstories or past's of characters

Actually yeah little hints would be packed in the first half

Any other songs could be filled in for the boys or y/n that could have the potential to return as a Reprise

Now listen Mandatory Eclipse Villain song(s)

this is not optional

Duets Duets DUETS

One duet could be between characters that are foils or mirror each other but it's one of those duets that have different lyrics that still match up musically

Particularly I think the latter could be used for Sun and Moon's complicated relationship with Eclipse but not completely sure where that would be, probably second half, speaking of which...

ACT ONE ends in the chapter that Y/N has to return the favor to Eclipse, where he crashes the party and they go with him, reassuring Sun and Moon that they allways can wiggle out of situations

REPRISE OF THE FIRST SONGGGGGG

Until Next Time Reprise

Which will have a moment of silence after, showing their mutual understanding yet make it perfectly clear sun and moon don't want to do resort to this

Doesn't last to long as it proceeds with the sound track DROPPING in tone as Eclipse stuffs y/n into the car, that is actually just a prop that leads to the back stage

FADE TO BLACK INTERMISSION

ACT TWO (any major costume changes or forever hold your piece) I think would start off with Sun and Moon's dilemmas first before getting back to y/n

WHICH would likely cut to y/n maybe already in the burgundy shirt but meh that's not solid

I think the way Eclipse gives them the burgundy ribbon and bell could be changed in an adaptation of the story since it would be easier I imagine to show it later than in a car set piece

(Admittedly I have to reread these specific chapters to know specifically the order) But when Eclipse drops the bombshell he knows their past, and I think he leaves them alone for a bit after that, SONG TIME (though song could still happen with him there honestly)

Something similar to the theme "I thought I burned everything" and would just

And after that likely more backstory could be cut to depending on what it is and how relevant it is at that point. WOuld be much grimmer in tone but hey it's the second act.

Though if this opportunity is taken, this could be reprised later when Y/N proposes to the boys, with the necklaces to show being more comfortable with their past

More song opportunities with Y/N's trust issues, Sun and Moon's brother issues, etc

Final act-ish, where y/n first runs away after Sun and Moon "find out" and from there would have more focus on the score than any songs that could be fit into that small frame.

My thoughts went kind of to Heather's Dead Girl Walking Reprise and then Veronica and JD's tussle toward the end if songs got implemented there

AND OF COURSE The moment of Eclipse's death is really what makes me think this would be adapted into a musical in universe

Because it does kind of fit the bill for being tragic

You feel bad enough for what could have been

But also remember "Nah that bitch deserves it"

But also.. it's sad

After proposal, there is possibility to do a QUICK little glance into the future at the end, not unlike Dear Evan Hansen's ending, but maybe not

I forgot to mention earlier, but the character that is revealed to be a spy for Eclipse at the police station I'd imagine would have hints on their clothing (like burgundy) that would foreshadow their side

Eclipse would bow by himself, flaunty as ever, yet you can still kind of tell the actor is kind of a sweetheart

Sun and Moon would enter, bow together and then welcome Y/n

Who would get to bow on their own, then with Sun and Moon

Then the rest of the cast is welcomed

How the arrangement would go from left to right I was thinking

Law Enforcement and basic background cast making up crowds, Freddy, Gregory, Sun, Y/N, Moon, Eclipse, Michael, Other Aftons and Spy, rest of Law Enforcement and basic background cast making up crowds

What if Chay, after The Song, writes and posts his response. Kim jumps on it, writes another song in response to that, Chay does the same. They have this back and forth for months, publicly working through their breakup through soulful, euphemistic music. Except no one knows what’s going on, because the songs are never a direct reply, they don’t tag each other in posts, they don’t ever actually interact.

Eventually, as Chay’s popularity rises, some astute fans put it together. They connect the suspiciously timed uploads from both of them, the lyrics that miiight be in reference each other’s past songs. Chay’s follower count skyrockets overnight once people put it together that, even though he’s posting under a pseudonym, he’s that Porchay.

Neither of them confirms or denies anything. They still don’t interact. Fans speculate on what happened—clearly a messy breakup, but aside from the first song or two from Chay, the tone isn’t angry. It’s betrayed, but the songs from both of them are full of longing. Clearly whatever happened between them is unfinished; it wasn’t a clean break.

When they finally finish working through things enough that they can have a conversation about it offline, their fans finally get closure in the form of a collaboration. Kim and Chay record a duet, and this time, it’s full of love and forgiveness, setting the perfect tone for their new beginning.

can I fuck you up more about Paul and John?

Paul lost a LOT of people. He made the choice and did the work to get over them. As far as I can tell, he made the choice to never get over John. I'm 55. The only example I can think of is my uncle Peter, who was killed in Vietnam in December 1967 at age 25. It completely destroyed the family. It killed my grandmother. To this DAY, my 91 year old aunt and my 84 year old father cannot talk about him without crying.

Paul REFUSES to get over John. He RELENTLESSLY talks about him at every opportunity. He has spent 40 years singing Here Today which makes him cry (I've personally seen it twice) and has spent two years singing a duet with John in concert. He has spent 30 years waiting to release Now and Then. There is NO SUCH THING as a celebrity at his level who NEVER SHUTS UP about someone who died 43 years ago. and he does not give a flying fuck. He is going to make SURE we are all missing John like he was killed yesterday.

Thank you for this. And god, I’m so jealous rn. Never got to see him live, hope I’ll get to and I’m really starting to be very afraid I’ll never have a chance bc like. Guy is old (and I’d like to see Ringo as well, ideally on stage with Paul and maybe Dhani too and Sean or Julian or… who can say? both is good) 😭😭 and yeah, I’ve seen a bunch of live performances of Here Today that Paul did and it seriously does seem like he can’t get used to performing it without at least having his voice crackle or vanish completely. And I wonder what he was thinking while working on Now and Then.

It’s like when Mark killed John, a huge part of Paul was blown up too and like he’s constantly trying to get it back. But I also really am impressed in some way from how much time he spends bringing John up, and I find it sad too because it does seem like he constantly has unfinished business with him, like there’s some closure he’s looking for that he can’t find and the one thing I keep thinking back on is when at a gig he sang Here Today and then told the audience “if there’s someone you love, tell them” because I think THAT’S the thing he keeps regretting and trying to fix and never really getting to (although I do also think John KNEW how much Paul loved him, if not as a “husband” as a best friend let’s say). Aside from the issues I have with John (mostly his behavior towards Julian, because I really think he was a massive dickhead for it, and Jules did nothing wrong to be treated like that), I really don’t think he was very hard to love. Paul is my girlie, but I very much do understand why he loves John so much. And I like thinking that they still talk to each other, through music, in some way. That like, a huge reason Paul still makes music is that that’s how he gets to connect with whatever John left inside of him, if that’s not too corny to say. And I absolutely admit this is my McLennon further brain talking, here. I also DO believe he just loves music and loves making music, of course. But with how much he mentions and talks about John and writes songs for him… like we get it Paul. Keep going, but like, we get it.

Do you know any good fanfic in frans category that you would like to share ? :)

I haven't had quite patience to read fanfics recently. In my memory I enjoyed Songfell and Sooner or Later You‘re Gonna be Mine a lot.

Serena Walken(Msmelanie) is one of my favorite authors, ReckoningTale is a master piece to me.

Thebananahasspoken is another great writer and Franstober is a collection with many different short stories.

Dancing a Duet Alone is my favourite Dancetale fic.

If you can handel some extremely gore I would definitely recommend Pneuma Rot. It‘s not a pure-ship fiction and mostly focuses on Frisk’s struggle in the underworld which made me pity her a lot. Creep is another but unfinished, and Sans is very very sick in it (made me uncomfortable many times).

Many Fransweek works are also wonderful. Sadly I don't have a habit of bookmarking works so these are pretty all I could remember.

HAZBIN HOTEL SEASON 2 IDEAS episodes 1 to 4

Ep 1: The first would be about Sir Pentious in heaven and how he would thrive there since it is very different in hell. Also, he would have to deal with not having his friends and eggs. I'm pretty sure he and Emily are going to be friends and will have a duet. He is going to meet Molly. Also, Sera will probably have a song about how she thought she was justified in the extermination, but she was wrong. The episode would end with Emily contacting Charlie, saying her hotel worked. This would convince Cherry Bomb to stay at the hotel because she and Sir Pentious have unfinished business.

 

Ep 2: There would be an episode where the major focus would be Vaggie and Angel Dust trying to get along because Charlie convinced them it was important to build strong bonds with everyone in the hotel, and Vaggie needed to get out of her comfort zone. Charlie would do this all in song. They won't have anything in common until they meet someone they both hate and start beating on them. The pair would also start complementing each other while beating up that person and would realize that, while they don't always get along, they wouldn't want anything bad to happen to each other. Then Vaggie and Angel Dust have a duet song. 

 

Ep 3: Another episode idea would be the meeting with Baxter. I think he was the one who helped Sir Pentious make his eggs. He states how he wants custody of the last egg boy, Frank, since Sir Pentious is out of the picture. He probably sings a song about who he is or something. Anyway, Charlie and the others don't want that to happen, especially Cherry Bomb since she has grown to like Frank, and it is the last reminder of Sir Pentious. The others want to fight Baxter for the egg, but Charlie decides to do it judicially. Saying how it would be better to do something similar to a custody hearing for Frank with an impartial judge like Alastor. They all agree. They probably all sing about who deserves to take Frank, with Baxter and Cherry Bomb being the lead singers. It would be like Hamilton Cabinet Battles 1 and 2.

However, Charile realizes this is unfair to Frank because they are treating him like he isn't a living being with feelings and opinions. So they make him decide. He chooses the hotel, but Baxter tries to steal Frank, saying he needs him to create more faithful servants who will do his bidding because Sir Pentious destroyed the egg boi recipe. The hotel saves Frank, and Baxter leaves in anger.

Ep 4 : It would start with Charlie calling her mom, telling her that the hotel actually works and that she knows she is doing something important, but she really misses her and wants her to call when she can. Then, after a couple of weeks, we see Charlie freaking out about why she hasn't gotten any of the other sinners redeemed when it worked with Sir Pentious. Lucifer and Vaggie see she is distressed and try to comfort her and tell her she needs to take a break and relax. At first, it doesn't work, and Charlie says her well-being isn't as important when it comes down to the sinners. So, to fully convince her, Lucfier and Vaggie sing a song about how she needs a break. It works. Vaggie says she would take care of the hotel while she and Lucfier have some Daddy-ddaughter bonding time in no better place than his amusement park since it always made her happy as a child. Alastor tags along, which surprises everyone since they haven't seen him in weeks, but he says not to worry about it, and he is Charlie's second dad, which angers Lucfier. Lucfier, Alastor, and Charlie head off, but as soon as they leave, a new resident shows up, saying he is interested in the hotel. The new resident acts exactly like someone Vaggie hated before, but she can't put her finger on it. She wants to kick him out but knows Charlie would be mad if she did, so he stays for the time being. I will continue this a good amount of likes.

Winter

Huntlow Week Day 6 - "Opposites"

I haven´t seen anyone do orchestral music for Huntlow Week.

In this piece I try to explore the very different - and perhaps opposite - beginnings of Hunter and Willow, and their journey towards finding each other.

I have chosen the very fast scales and arpeggios to represent Willow, perhaps as the burning inner Willow that sets everything on fire, or perhaps as the suppressed emotions and years of bullying.

Hunter is represented by the very dissonant upper clusters and slow melodies. This could represent the clash between what the Golden Guard represents and who Hunter really is behind the mask. This also gets less dissonant as time goes on.

Eventually they come together in an uncertain duet. After working through some stuff they finally land in perfect harmony and a great finale.

This piece is currently unfinished, and i will certainly do some changes before putting it on youtube.

Cigarette duet - rosekiller

— a/n: yet another piece dedicated to @fvsdiangelo <3 she read this one first so not really a gift, and as everything she makes me write, it's a heart shattering piece of angst

— warnings: minor tw for self harm and anxiety crisis on this one, take care of yourselves babes!

— summary: evan always calms him down, even when barty might not want it

The first time Evan notices, they're fifteen. They're fifteen and Evan has just asked to bum a cigarette from Barty, and they're smoking at the lake. They're fifteen and Barty is a bit of a chainsmoker when he's anxious, and his father's letter had just arrived. Then, it's Barty lighting his third cigarette, and Evan talking to him trying to calm him down, because he knows Barty soon would regret running out of them. Evan barely finished his own.

Then, he sees Barty closing his eyes, and the words die out on Evan's throat. Then, it's him pressing the dying end of the filter, burning ember against his arm, and Evan notices as he hisses from the pain of it. His fingers clasp around Barty's wrist, pulling it away.

Evan notices a few other marks too.

"What are you doing?" Barty asks the second Evan's hand pull his own.

"I could ask you the same." Barty looks down. Evan voice softens just for the smallest moment. "Look at me, Barty. Tell me what you're doing."

"Fuck, Ev, it's not- Don't do this." Barty sighs, throwing his cigarette unfinished on the ground, watching it as it fades. His eyes don't meet Evan's for a second.

Evan doesn't like this. He doesn't like Barty is ashamed to even look at his direction, he doesn't like that there are more than just a single burn mark on his skin. "For how long?"

"Don't treat me like I'm a fucking child, Rosie." The nickname is bitter against Barty's mouth. He wants to spit out this sourness, he knows deep down Evan doesn't deserve this.

"Tell me nevertheless, please?" Evan's voice is so soft now Barty wants to grab him by the throat. He burries his face on his knees. He doesn't want to, but he speaks anyway.

"It helps, okay? Sometimes it helps, it grounds me or some shit. Can you stop now?" He mumbles. "I didn't want you to know, because you'd act exactly how you're acting now, Evan, fuck me."

Evan lets out a chuckle, softly. His fingers touch the side of Barty's face, all he can grab now, and he pulls him, making Barty's eyes meet his. Barty doesn't look away this time.

"You're don't- He doesn't deserve this, that little shit. Don't give him that."

Barty arches a brow at the words. He had imagined many things, but this is new. Barty laughs too. "I guess he don't. But it's not just him, it's the tests, it's-"

"It's okay." Evan interrupts him, because he knows Barty well enough to tell when he's spiraling. "I know. But I can think of better ways to cope."

"Yeah, no shit."

"Let me help you, okay? Here's what we'll do. Tell me five things you can see."

Five things Barty can see. Easy. He can do this. One, the lake. Two, the exact point where he had throw his cigarette, he can see the filter on the grass, just a glimpse of it. Three, his zippo. Four, first years on the other side of the lake. Five, Evan.

He laughs at the last one.

They keep going. Four things he can feel, three things he can hear, two things he can smell, one thing he can taste.

He's about to say the only thing he can taste is tobacco burnt against his tongue when Evan lips join his.

Then all he can taste is Evan.

Many people started doing stuff like making Spotify playlists of songs that describe their Oc and other oc relationship aspects. I remember finding this SUPER fun to do. And I miss it. So, I decided to try it out with Mario and Peach first! (Just a teeny break from my much-loved Luaisy fixation!)

So without further ado, here’s a list of songs based on what I can find in my (Many) Spotify playlists. A bit challenging to find good ones!

This will have labels indicating indicating who’s mostly singing about who. Either one person referring to the other, or a Duet that includes both at the same time.

- Mario to Peach -

On one side, Mario would have the thought that Peach is simply so amazing. Someone so elegant, pure and beautiful. Someone just way out of his league. These thoughts would often show through hints of resistance at first. He and the Princess are just friends…right?

But the moment he fully accepts his feelings, he becomes so outspoken of his love. So some songs I’ve decided to choose from my playlist, tend to be about wondering if Peach feels for him, like he feels for her. A bit of doubt. But other than that, he shows protectiveness, Being her shield to danger. Also A bit more impulsive, energetic and upbeat in some parts. But with no matter what, he will always give her words of reassurance to make sure everything is okay.

- Peach to Mario -

Very sweet, reflective and thoughtful. The type of love that whenever she thinks of her hero, she gets so fluttery and bashful on the inside. She is more reserved her feelings though, so some songs may reflect her denying a bit. But ultimately, they all lead to just wholeheartedly accepting her feelings.

- Luigi to Daisy -

Luigi is the more sentimental type. One who thinks about the deeper meaning of his feelings. The one who’s able to find sweet comparisons and words when describing love with Daisy. He knows how timid he is. How easily scared he could be. Which is why He holds such admiration of how much of a free-spirited character she is. So some of his songs will reflect almost awe in her character. How much her presence alone just brings his feelings to life.

The theme I tried to go with Daisy is of a supportive figure, or one that drives Luigi to improve and be the best of himself. Her words may seem to be a bit more forward with some songs. But mostly, she’s the one who has more of her feelings on her sleeve, and will have no problem expressing them more. She reflects more of the intense passion.
