hang on, you know what felt really refreshing in centaurworld? at no point was Horse lying to anyone

like a lot of times, in isekai/fish-out-of-water shows, the protagonist lies to someone in either the New or Old world in order to stay in one of the two, but Horse stays true to her goal the whole time, and makes the decision to stay without forcefully cutting ties or making a big sacrifice out of nowhere. she lets everyone know she inteds to stay, and they all support her! no dramatic falling out, no people turning on her when they find out the truth. (this isn't to say that shows where the protagonist does lie to their friends in this way are inherently bad, it was just a nice change. and of course i haven't seen every cartoon, so this likely isn't the first time it's happened)

Horse was definitely more selfish than she'd like to admit, but she was never a bad horse. she just didn't know how to be vulnerable amd empathize with people outside of the one person she was always with already (which happens when you're hardened and traumatized from war lol)

TL;DR Horse never felt the need to lie to her companions to get what she needed, and it was refreshing to see

after thinking a lot about stolitz and the issues surrounding their whole dynamic, i think something that they would both really benefit from would be separating their sex life from their business relationship

blitzø believes that he is only doing this with stolas because the guy just wants someone he can fuck whenever he likes, as well as it being a requirement for him to use the grimoire

while stolas does this because at first, he just needed a reason to coerce blitzø into returning for sex, and eventually it's just his excuse to see blitzø at all, because he begins to develop actual feelings for him

this link between them having sex and them participating in a business relationship is one of the major things that makes it difficult to navigate any actual intimacy and romance between them. the reasons for why they do what they do with each other become muddled between actually wanting to be with one another and simply engaging in their predetermined agreement

and it's this blurry part of their communication with each other that ultimately contributes to why they can't be together

stolas, thus far, has not treated blitzø as an equal he could possibly pursue a relationship with, while blitzø is convinced that no one could love him and therefore is emotionally distant and closed off despite stolas' clear invitations

their intentions towards each other are wildly unclear to both parties, and mixed with past heartbreaks, having kids, and being from entirely different societal statuses, that just makes it a helluva lot harder.
