Happy Birthday United States Marine Corps!

On this day in 1775, the Continental Congress passes a resolution requiring that “two Battalions of Marines be raised” to support the recently organized Continental Navy. The resolution further stipulated that no person be enlisted, except “such as are good seamen, or so acquainted with maritime affairs as to be able to serve to advantage by sea, when required.”

The first commanding officer of the Marines was Samuel Nicholas. He began recruiting new members immediately, and he reportedly turned to a tavern owner named Robert Mullan for help. As the story goes, the two men set up shop in Mullan’s tavern, the Tun Tavern. Thus, the tavern is considered by many to be the birthplace of the Marine Corps.

The USMC is over 219 years of romping, stomping, hell, death and destruction. The finest fighting machine the world has ever seen. We were born in a bomb crater, our mother was an M-16 and our father was the devil.

Each moment that I live is an additional threat upon your life. I am a rough-looking, roving soldier of the sea. I am cocky, self-centered, overbearing, and I do not know the meaning of fear, for I am fear itself. I am a green, amphibious monster made of blood and guts who arose from the sea, festering on anti-Americans throughout the globe. Whenever it may arise, and when my time comes, I will die a glorious death on the battle field, giving my life to mom, the Corps, and the American flag.

We stole the eagle from the Air Force, the anchor from the Navy, and the rope from the Army. On the 7th day, while God rested, we over-ran his perimeter and stole the globe, and we've been running the show ever since. We live like soldiers and talk like sailors and slap the hell out of both of them. Soldier by day, lover by night, drunkard by choice, Marine by God!

We know these civilian conservative politicians will go as far as betray their own military and election institutions to push their corruption. Former Senator Joseph McCarthy is the most extreme example. Never turn your back against the United States Armed Forces.

Letting their spoiled rich aristocrat Wall Street American civilians surrender our manufacturing sector domestically, is the greatest military strategic failure in recent American history. Knowing how to manufacture efficiently and dynamically on-demand, is key to maintaining technological strongholds. When will their politicians be deterred from further compromises of national security?

No matter who you are or how strong you are, everyone feels alone at some point in their life. Even myself can attest to this. There's days I feel like I have no one. Sometimes I feel like why did that thing happen to me? I'd be lying if I said things don't bother me. We are all human. We all feel emotions. I've always believed to not hold things in and just let yourself feel the emotions that are coming. You should never let them overcome you to the point where you lose control because that is not healthy. It is good however to allow the emotions to pass. There can always be something to learn from every experience that you have in life. Whether it be good or bad. Try to make a positive out of that experience and learn from it. Sometimes I ask myself why certain people are no longer in my life. I believe everything happens for a reason and there's a plan foreach and everyone of us. I've come to learn that when anything or even certain people are not in your life anymore it's because their purpose in your life served.

In life you never really lose anything. You came into this world with nothing therefore everything else is profit. This includes all the things you've owned, the people that you've met in your life and most importantly the experiences you've had. All of that was something you gained along the way. So be thankful that you got to even experience any of that.

I think the biggest factor to anyones happiness is being happy with yourself. Being able to be yourself and do what you love. Be happy with the person you are and the person you're becominq. I struggle with this and I'm learning to love myself more everyday. Remember you only live once. Spend your life the way you want. Do what makes you happy. Always remember no matter how hard life gets there are people that care about you. I wouldn't even have made it this far in life if it wasn't for the people that love me. So when you are feeling alone. Remember the ones that were there for you. We are all humans going through things in life. Remind yourself those times you are feeling alone you're not the only one that feels isolated.❤️❤️

TDIH: First Marine Commandant

On this day in 1775, a Philadelphia tavern owner is commissioned as commanding officer of the newly formed Marines. Samuel Nicholas received his commission only 18 days after the Continental Congress passed a resolution requiring that “two Battalions of Marines be raised” to support the recently organized Continental Navy.

The day of that original resolution -- November 10 -- is celebrated as the birthday of the United States Marine Corps.

Nicholas was another “Fighting Quaker”! He was the son of a blacksmith, but he’d worked his way up in society a bit. By the time the war started, he was a tavern owner and founder of the Gloucester Fox Hunting Club. He also belonged to an exclusive club called the Schuylkill Fishing Company. Because of his background, he had friends and connections in many classes of Philadelphia society. It was thought that he’d be the perfect person to recruit the tough guys who would be needed as Marines.
