~Studyblr Introduction~

Hey, my name’s Georgina, and I thought it was about time to introduce myself to the studyblr community, and all the lovely followers who’ve supported my first few months posting studyblr content! I’ve been a huge fan of the studyblr community for such a long time, and I really wanted to participate in order to share my love for studying and in order to motivate myself further. Originally, I created this blog a few years ago when I was studying A-Levels, hence the name, as I was studying The Great Gatsby as the main text of my English Literature A-Level. I’m now a second-year university student studying history and philosophy, and after years of building the confidence to share my studies and my bujo, I’m so glad that people have already been so welcoming in this community. Today will mark the restart the beginning of 100 days of productivity, and I thought it would great if you were able to learn more about before I begin!

What I’m studying~

I’m currently working towards a dual degree in History and Philosophy. In particular, I enjoy and tend to choose history modules that focus more upon modern conflicts and American history, and I’m particularly excited for my American foreign relations module next year! In the terms of philosophy, I’m more generalist, but I do enjoy looking at the history of philosophy and ethics in particular~

My favourite places to study~

Studying in my rooms at uni and at home are definitely where I feel more comfortable, especially when I have lots of plants and natural light around. I think it’s really important to have a really relaxed and tranquil environment in order to feel focused and comfortable, and I love shopping for new plants to brighten up my study space. In the summer I also love studying in my local botanical gardens, although all the beautiful flowers and wildlife can be a little distracting hehe~

My favourite study supplies~

My best method for studying is using notecards, so I love to have a stock of loads of bright and fun card stock in order to produce study material. Highlighters are also a particular favourite of mine, particularly mildliners, as visual markers are really helpful me also. In general, I just love stationery though, and I’m always buying more cute things, especially from foxandstar.com- they have a really great range of cute supplies!

One thing I can’t study without~

A bottle of cold water! I feel it’s really important to stay focused and hydrated, and it’s particularly useful as I like to work out in my study breaks.

What else I enjoy~

As my studyblr name suggests, I really enjoy reading! I especially like reading foreign literature, mainly Russian and Japanese, and I am currently reading ‘The Last Children of Tokyo’ by Yoko Tawada. I also love going for walks in nature, and I’m really into gardening and taking care of plants- I have quite the collection of succulents and cacti aha! I’m also a casual gamer, and my absolute favourite game to play is Animal Crossing, and I find it so relaxing and calming, which is great for helping to deal with stress and my anxiety J

Why I started a studyblr~

I really want to motivate myself to focus more and be more committed to studying, especially since last year wasn’t great for me academically due to some struggles with my mental health and personal problems. But I’m determined to put that behind me, and I’m hoping that my studyblr will push me to be more committed and get much higher marks!
