Spent this day at Botanical Garden 🪴 I’m soooo in love with spring nature that I can’t put it into words.
Oh, yeah, the latest update: I sent a PhD application on Friday evening. It’s my last calm weekend, I guess. Wish me luck, I need it more then ever.

Last day before summer holiday starts for a lot of people! Not me though 😬💪🏻 two more weeks to finish my thesis’ first draft and hand it in. Then off to the world championships Icelandic horses to volunteer and forget about my thesis for a little while 😌

The fabric of nature
awakens to a purpose,
like rippled silk—moire
beau ideals echo
in tune with the universe.
Focused on the centre
& animated
by the potential energy
of a cosmic game of chance.
RhymingTherapy—July 2022 (my photo Brisbane Botanic Gardens) poem inspired by @writerscreed challenge “potential energy”

Family: Rosaceae
Taxus: Pyrus
Kind: spinosa
Pyrus__
This class included dedicuous trees and bushes, with branches that have a thorn-like ending. Their leaves are alternanating on each side and simple in shape. The perianth is 5-parted while the wreath is white. It contains numerous pollen tubes (20-30) with rose colored flowers, the ovary is capitated with 2 to 5 carpels.
Spinosa
The spinosa kind is characterized by its narrow, lanceolate shaped leaves, that feel leathery to the touch. The edge of the leaves are smooth and rarely with 3 lobes. The bearing fruit is like a sphere and almost 2.5 centimetres.
